Can we BREAK the servers? on purpose? find weird glitches or something that crashes the servers? can we SPAM all the skills we want?
Edit: Summon us 300 samarogs at the same time and we will try to kill them! That surely stress a server xD
Same for me.
When I copy/paste my api keys on gw2 efficiency (or other websites) that doesn’t work.
I have an error message : “This API key is not valid”.
But my key works other days.
It’s easier to access to the API directly and see if it loads: https://api.guildwars2.com/v2/build
NECRO POWERS ENABLED: Resurrecting this thread!
Okay, this is the related question: Is there any workaround to get which stat is currently selected on equipped items?
I am trying to get what stats are selected on my legendary items, but the only info I could find lead me here, stuck with the “stat_choices” part. I was expecting something like the “infix_upgrade” code that says which stats are selected… but nope.
However I see that some websites are capable of getting what stat are selected, so what am I missing? Where is that information stored?
Right now the popular choices that I am reading on map chat for Raids is to bring 4 condi rangers, 2 mesmers, 2 ps and 2 druids. It’s not the best team for sure but it points out something quite stupid: The best profession to run for healer and the best class to run for DPS in the game right now is the same profession.
If nerfing the tempest a bit was just so we don’t have only tempests as DPS professions, the same treatment should be done against the condi ranger, because 6 out of 10 spots in a raid is likely to be that. Rangers already had their secured spot as druids, I don’t get to understand why their damage is so high against other professions that can only go to a raid as DPS dealers (thief)
I suspect that most of the changes done at balancing try to address stuff broken months ago, and that’s why it usually fails. 3 months ago there were tempests everywhere at raids, but now the tempests where slowly being replaced by condi rangers to the point that it’s rare to see a raid without one or 2 condi rangers, however the nerf to tempest still came up to address something that it’s not happening anymore.
Small off-topic suggestion: I think Anet should join random LFG raids with DPS meters on to see the real damage of the average population on certain professions to address better the way the meta uses them. And then manage to create a perfect balance where choosing one profession or another is actually relevant to the group and not everyone would go for the “best” one.
For me, balance means that if 2 professions (X and Y) would do 50 of damage with perfect rotations, X would bring to the party something that Y cannot, and the other way around. But right now I don’t think the game is balanced because we got X doing 34 and Y doing 41 while X bringing barely any utility and Y bringing some.

Could you do that with the spanish forums, I’m wondering if I’m top 1 there xD.
That outfits been around since the beginning but the code keeps changing and being found again. Wonder when they’ll finally just release it on the gem store.
Is not the code changing, it’s just that an item placeholder seems to be created but the skin itself hasn’t been attached to that item yet, so the result is an “empty” skin, which translates into your character not wearing anything at all. That creates the “nude” effect we’ve seen here.
So it’s not an intended skin, it’s just a bug (more or less) because of an unattached skin to the placeholder item.
(I might be wrong, this is just me guessing from a programming point of view)
Uhm my script managed to get those 2 easily when I asked to retrieve newly added items:
Pistol: https://api.guildwars2.com/v2/items/79179
Sword: https://api.guildwars2.com/v2/items/79089
Question regarding this. Since it’s only suppose to be for Guild chat. Would it be possible to allow a Bot to use that chat from outside the game?
For example, my guild is a very closed and small guild that uses a very powerful TeamSpeak chat bot with our API keys stored in its internal database and it can give us some very useful stuff like the next commands in the TeamSpeak Chat.
user: !api fractal level
bot: Your fractal level is X
user: !api build <character>
bot: That character traits are X, skills are Y, gear is Z.
user: !drop
bot: You won a X (level 45 exotic greatsword, for example)
We use this kind of commands all the time, because some of them are even minigames like the !drop one. The cons of this is that we’re always in need to minimize the game and stay in the TeamSpeak chat for it.
If the chat integration with the API would be possible as a real-time thing, more or less, my teamspeak bot could maybe monitore the guild chat and answer for commands inside the game. That way we could create some useful in-game commands like:
user: !tequatl
bot: Tequatls appears in 4 minutes at <links waypoint>
This would be an enormous QoL change for our guild, since the bot could link us items, find stuff in the wiki for us, use the API to give us detailed crafting information about something, etc. I’m sure more other guilds would also benefit from it.
The Cons is that malicious players would code bots for gold selling or stuff like that. However, if the API integration is only for guild chat, it shouldn’t be an issue. Guild leaders should know who to invite to their guilds, and they can kick people out if there’s such a problem. And let’s face it, gold sellers are already gold selling in map chats and whispers even before the API chat integration is done.
So now the question is: Will this be allowed, or it would be a bannable action?
(edited by Elrey.5472)
:( That’s what I though. Thank you anyway.
After a few days trying to learn how the API works, I understand the ?lang=es attribute can give me an spanish localized version, like for example https://api.guildwars2.com/v2/items/309?lang=es
However, I can’t seem to find how to do it for characters information.
Ideally I would want to get the gender, race, profession and everything already localized.

Yep, keep it up Anet! Raids have definitely invigorated my Guild Wars 2 experience and I have never enjoyed something as much in the game!
So much this. I’ve never played GW2 as much as I do now in raids.
For those that fear that you need a closed roster or to dedicate X time per day to be in a raid group, you don’t.
My guild is consistently completing both wings with no dedicated team. We’re just a bunch of 35 multi-class players that join random guild runs on-the-fly and have some fun while doing it.
Hey Ray, spanish guy stuck. He can’t queue because the game says he’s already in a combat. Here’s his post: https://forum-es.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/support/error-de-codigo-19-9-19-1714-101/first#post119670
I tried Outside a few years ago, crafting is really hard there and I am still level 3 of cooking after all this time. Anyone knows a good guide to level that up?.
I have a problem with all this support for making fights as mechanical as possible. VG and Sabetha both have a lot of mechanics to deal with. And as a result it feels less like you are fighting the boss and more like you are fighting the mechanics/arena. I dont find that fun.
On the other hand Gorseval is much more about the boss itself. Its a lot more fun. But as a result its easier once you get the dps check and basic mechanics sorted. The thing is that style can be really good if its expanded on. The eggs on gorseval are an attention and skill check. its a simple yet punishing mechanic. But it doesnt take focus away from the boss like VG lightning and Sabetha cannons do. Add more mechanics like that and you can create really challenging fights without taking focus away from the bosses.
I want to see more fights like Gorseval that have reactionary mechanics. A few arena mechanics is fine. But i think they should be more side focused and more about making it easier for yourself if you deal with them more effectively. Like Gorse orbs and add clearing. Neither of those are absolutely essential to deal with perfectly. But there are reasons to ignore or focus on those mechanics given the situation. The updraft stuff is fine as well simply because its not a constant mechanic. Its a few times per fight which makes it less tedious.
On the other side, my entire guild hates Gorseval because it’s boring.
We are 40 raiders, some of us Eternals, that share this thought; and it’s because on Gorseval you only need to worry on DPS. That’s it, just focus on DPS, stand in there and swing a sword. Even if you kitten up your rotation it’s ok, nobody will notice because they’re concentrated on their rotations. Doesn’t sound very funny or challenging to me :\
We love the other 2 fights because they don’t lack on mechanics that can keep us busy/focused and punish us for bad playing.
Personally I think that the players that only wants to DPS are just lazy, no offense intended.

If the bosses are in the middle but players are between the boss and pillar, incoming damage is not increase that much (I mean every boss still stays in their color area)
Thats not how it works. U don’t get damage for being in another section, you get damage for being close to any of them (it’s a big 1200 range circle aura around them). By having all 3 together at the same place, if you are 1200 range near of that place you’ll be kitten d.
I saw in PUG group, tank Guardian put his bubble to protect the group from projectiles, so I am asking myself does the Mesmer Feedback would also work?
That might has been me. Usually the first CC on phase 3 is needed when you have the boss facing the next section, so at the same time you get 3 seekers (and 1 comes from the next section, behind the tank). The skill 5 from shield is used there to remove a bit CC but mostly to knocback that annoying seeker before people moves in.

I just hope this change doesn’t affect raids. Please make “only PvP” changes before it’s too late. It will be frustrating if you make raids even harder because of something that’s not even related to PvE.
Distortion vs blur has no effect on pve
Well, that’s not completely true. The distortion changes are a potentially game breaking buff in raids, but I believe the other person was also talking about the original changes to the block duration. I don’t foresee any of these changes making mesmer less viable at all. Their main raid utility right now is in being a boon bot. I wouldn’t be surprised if they are currently in the lowest DPS class in the game if you exclude raid utility that they give other people.
My guild use chronomancer as tank, he relies a lot on blocks so there’s why. It would be frustrating if they make skills for raids even harder to use just because it doesn’t work as expected in PvP. Guilds that never PvP would find that kind of changes a bit stupid, if I can be honest.

As someone pointed out in the first page, Anet should design encounters that kills you because of the mechanics, not the timers.
For example, right now if you miss the green area in vale guardian it won’t kill everyone, it just downed some and you can heal them anyway. It’s a bad design. It should kill everyone and punish you for not completing the mechanic.
If there’s no timer, with a sub-optimal damage group you would need to deal with more of those green areas because it takes you longer to beat the boss. Just think for a moment of last phase taking 10 long minutes with the electricity sections killing people (no matter the gear, could be a 30% health per tick) and the need to move the boss at the exact second to not die or make green areas appear where they shouldn’t.
It would “still” be challenging, but not because of a timer. It would be challenging because it’s an endurance fight and someone would make a fail eventually. However this would rely on player skill and not on gear checks… and it’s where vale guardian design fails right now. It rewards gears check above players skill.
Note: I already killed this boss, I just don’t like the timer.

The only “bothersome” tweets are/were from their DnT twitter.
Things like: “After speed clearing the #GuildWars2 raid content in 15 minutes we’re attending the after-party sponsored by @mortonsalt. The loot is great.”
Might be the truth, but without any given (or just because of the) context it just doesn’t feel right.
Don’t forget these:
Let’s say on Gendarran fields, Sparkly fen, even at Orr! The new adventures system is awesome and getting 1 new one of them each X time would make wonders to add single-player end-game to the game!
I just did this without dying or getting downed, on first attempt, 10 minutes or less (it’s way too easy with a longbow/greatsword warrior).
It did gave me all achievements (Begginer, expert and master). I do still got an icon to jump to the pit and kill chaks for achiev but that’s NOT an achievement, just an icon.
Bump. This is still not fixed.
Yeah, I did also got it by triggering all trapts…
Anet, consider to rollback 24 hours, it’s the best choice before it get’s too complicated. (And you probably got security copies of our characters data anyway)
Update: The feedback of my post is about a PvE experience that I though it was relevant to the topic, didn’t noticed we are in the PvP forum until it was already posted and I guess that can change everything.
Looks like any damage you deal after being defeated will cause you to be in combat after you respawn. This could include engineer mines, necro downed 3 well, etc.
After 5500 hours played as a Warrior, I’ve never been in-combat after respawn, so I don’t think it’s related to every profession.
Conditions doesn’t seem to affect in-combat respawn. As a personal strategy I always hit the enemy with a 20seconds bleed (5Longbow warrior) if I know that I’m going to die in the next second (example: I have poison, 100 health and can’t cure poison). I use that bleed to buy me time to run back from wherever it’s the waypoint before the enemy has reset (the damage keeps him in-combat), and sometimes I even change skills in the meantime because I am not in combat even though the enemy is still bleeding because of me.

What character name did you submit it on? The DB with the /bugs is quite… large… and this will make it easier for me to find it.
I wasn’t in that group, in my previous post I just said that some guildies were speaking about that in the guild chat. Sorry for the confusion. I’ll ask them as soon as they get online.
Good luck fixing that bug, and thank you for your hard work, Lauren!
Edit: My friend says he sent the report bug as Ketnek (Might be Ketnek S, Ketnek B, Ketnek F, etc similar names).
(edited by Elrey.5472)
Actually I had this bug commented in guild chat 1 week ago, might be useful for you to reproduce it Lauren.
Sorry that I can’t give you more details. I think they filled a report /bug though, so you might just find it on your logs.
I agree with you guys. The timer is there to make the fight challenging. What that also means is that the fight isn’t challenging at all without the timer.
The raid bosses should have mechanics so brutal that would kill you. That should be the difficulty, to survive, not to make it in X time. In my opinion the Guardian Vale boss lacks of mechanics strong enough to push players to the limits where they will die. Once everyone understands the fight, this boss will be just a DPS race and bye bye to the challenge. With true challenging mechanics, this would never happen because the sense of danger would be always there.
Right now that skill is perfect for me. I played 20 hours of Revenant on the last Beta Weekend against lot of different things and the perfect mix of that skill + sword 2 of autoattack + sword 2 + sword 3 of autoattack makes an awesome heal + explosion combination. To that, add to start a fight with axe 4 and sword 3 and you no longer need to activate it before a combat to nuke enemies while also healing 50% of your own health.
I wouldn’t change it.
Ok that’s a new, someone selling a guild: http://prntscr.com/85mhc1
I did play 20 hours of revenant in the last Beta and I love that proffesion, but the energy concept simply doesn’t work. Most of the times we are STARING at the enemy doing nothing just becausee we run out of energy. I get that energy management is important, but if you want to spam the skills in an optimal rotation, you spam so many skills (like you usually do with any proffesion) that you end up with no energy in no time.
I feel the weapons skills should not have energy cost, it’s what kills the revenant experience. It’s ok for the utilities/heal/elite skills, since that will give a sense of strategy to the proffesion, but for the weapons skills it’s way too awkward, confusing and as pointed above, useless if you want an optimal rotation without waiting times.
Now The Herald will have even more upkeep skills that will deplete your energy… say bye to weapon skills then, you won’t ever have energy to use weapon skills if you are using the herald upkeep ones unless you stop before each skill to catch up energy while also interrupting the upkeep (which would be a nightmare).
(edited by Elrey.5472)
Just do it properly and you’ll have no issues with it. I did bring 10 guildies over the last month that got all aetherpath achievements in 1 run.
And by properly I meant:
I really hate that way of cheating, but besides my own opinion, some people think that if oozes get into fire, you lose the achievement, and it might be true or false, I don’t really care. Just get 2 tanks, move eles away. Then get 2 players to move oozes (of them being the guy that needs achievement) and faceroll it.
You get 3 boxes in your inventory, Just open them and choose stats.
Snip
Well, that was my experience.
I double checked and I did buy the Dreadnought armour on a warrior before looking at it on a revenant. Must just be my account then. Thanks for the help!
Did you purchase the armor before or after you created your Revenant?
The beta copies your main account at a specific point (most people assume its when your first beta character gets created, though I don’t know that its ever been confirmed if that’s the exact point or not).
Mine did get copied when the Beta slots were created. So if they gave the OP the beta slots on Monday, he bought the armour on a non-beta character on tuesday and then tried it on a beta character on wednesday, the armour won’t be there.
However, since the beta characters have a clone of your account, you can just buy them again because you have the money in the beta slot (if the beta slot don’t have the armour, you still have in the beta the money you used to buy the armour :P)
I consider myself a pretty hardcore player (solo some fractals at lvl 50, lupicus etc). And wonder what? Tried the living story and died on my revenant right away. Then I tried with my warrior… and the enemies didn’t even touched me, what a faceroll.
So I learnt that the problem is NOT the story mobs being strong, it’s the revenant being awfully balanced for it and we are not used to it. It’s like leaving a level 1 player in a lvl 30 dungeon alone, of course he’ll die! he must learn how to play his proffesion first, and that ain’t done in 2 days.
Please don’t nerf the enemies even more, just balance Revenant.
(edited by Elrey.5472)
~( o_o )~
Let me guess, you did put that text there! xD
I would had like more a flying-charr-dragon with golden horns
These 2 things:
Note: Lupi should be able to kill anyone unless he gets killed.

directip.dll is causing the crash. This is not from our software. It appears to be a program that you may have installed, possibly by accident. You may want to disable or uninstall it.
hi , sorry but i dont have this directip.dll in my pc
Unless you can’t read your own screenshot, you do.
Maybe it’s malware, a virus or something else that you did get installed somehow. Or might be because other programs (i don’t like WTFast because it give me that sort of problems).
Try a format your computer and do a fresh install of windows. Anyway you’re not going to die for 3-4 days of no gw2, aren’t you?

Makkay’s VO is played client side, so every player will hear the right lines regardless of how many people are interacting with her. Also, all her lines are logged to chat so you can read it afterward. It’s new tech that we plan on using more often in the future.
Noticed that playing with my friend, it’s freaking awesome.
Spanish subs work. Confirmed by me and a guildie. Didn’t understood the note either.
However 1 big possible problem: IF you are in group with someone, and that someone triggers the cinematic, it doesn’t matter if you are in the mistic forge or whatever,t he cinematic triggers for you as well without warning or without accepting a popup, which is confusing and could lead to trolls bothering random people.
All that is bugged ONLY in characters older than 2014 (more or less). Just in case it helps to find and fix the bug.
In the meantime, play with newish characters i guess.
A new serial-user has appeared in the spanish forum, please help him :P
Link: https://forum-es.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/support/Problema-con-el-Display-Name/first#post111382
I wonder why this happens.
I don’t care so much about the display name in terms of what it looks like, but it does seem like instead of using something that has little bearing on our characters we should be able to select a character name to use on the forums and in our contacts list. People don’t know us by our goofy display name. They know our characters. It makes sense to let us bind a character name to our forum and contacts.
I mean… they are already guaranteed to be unique anyway. Why not?
Do you know what? you can type your character name in your signature! (Amazing news, I know)
Although I agree that Guiverno is a bad translation and Revenant could had use a better name than Retornado in spanish, i gotta disagree with the Reaper. La muerte sounds incredible childish to me just because it has been used too many times in too many humouristic games/movies/etc. La parca sounds like a wrestling fighter so I don’t like it either :\
Enable players collision for just 1 week It’ll be fun and it would make positional awareness in zergs really important..
I someone makes a Reaper named CHOO CHOO at the french servers xD… It would be fun for a while.
Hey Ray, some people from the spanish forums are also stuck into some maps (or were 3 hours ago). It’s worth to check since i’m not sure they speak english.

After 10 hours of revenant testing (in dungeons, fractals and open world) with Jalis and Ventari as heroes (and swapping constantly) and Mace-Axe as weapons, I did end up thinking that we should gain energy by attacking, not just for being in combat.
Right now you are forced to NOT attack to just save energy to do certain skills that will be more useful than attacking (as example, the jalis road that puts stability on us). So if you want to keep attacking an enemy with stability on your group, you need to STOP attacking, stay idle awkwardly while the other proffesions can still DPS and then you cast the shiny road and go back to attacking. This is happening just because how energy works.
Alternatively, you can instantly get 50% energy by swapping heroes, but swapping heroes has a cooldown as well. And what will you do, camp a different hero just so you have no cooldown when you really need to use a skill, so you can swap+use with no energy penalty? It’s bad designed so far.
Please balance and adjust the energy parameters so we can gain it with each attack and punish people not attacking instead of punishing people attacking. That way it would work like some other proffesions skills and they’re proven they work perfectly in the GW2 combat playstyle.
With that change to the energy bar of Revenant, if you just need to cast a certain skill that will be really needed at a point, you can aim for it 5 seconds earlier and start spamming skills to build up Energy.
By doing that we we don’t get punished just by fighting.
(edited by Elrey.5472)
Staff 3 and 5 should have Combo finishers: whirl.
On the ventari tablet, skill 7 should remain with a 240. 300 would be too OP. I just tested my revenant on Aetherpath (the ooze puzzle is the best scenario to test reflects in the entire game) and the that tablet works perfectly there. Moving wasn’t too hard neither.
The skill 5 from the tablet is awesome since you can just re-cast a new tablet instantly. I like that, don’t change it. The skill 3, though, I never used it to heal. I found more useful swapping to Jalis, healing with 6 and 0 and then going back to ventari and get a new tablet once healed.
I did get the Tequatl ascended treasure in my revenant. I only went there just to fight against the odds and laught if happens and… it happened Lol.
At least I am a player that likes playing more than rewards, so it’s ok losing it
