I’m also running into frequent bug where I lose mobility if the skill stops before it ends (such as when enemy is near wall). Losing all mobility after using one of my top skills is a VERY big disadvantage. Hope the hotfix this soon.
Problem is I don’t run Shiro or Shield so I’m very much screwed when I lose mobility. Happened to me twice in the last raid.
Wow this bug happened to me twice in my last Raid.
Worse than that, I’m also running into frequent bug where I lose mobility if the skill stops before it ends (such as when enemy is near wall). Losing all mobility after using one of my top skills is a VERY big disadvantage. Hope the hotfix this soon.
Story – not very far into it so far, but I like what I’m seeing so far. Except for the glaring grammar issue that detracts and distracts from the story. I AM NOT A DRAGON MINION and resent being the leader of a guild that says I am. See this thread…
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/SPOILER-Why-are-we-now-working-for-the-Dragons/first#post6260584
Balance – not a big fan right now of the balance. I’m a Revenant fan and nothing was really changed for them except a few bug fixes and more bugs added. As for most of the other classes, the jury is still out there.
Map – again haven’t made it far, but it is well done in my opinion. Seems a bit recycled from the from how the branded feel, but overall much more evolved
What’s the point of using [SPOILER] is you are doing it on the very title? Can you please change it? Thanks!
There is no spoiler here. It mentions the name given to the new guild that replaces Destiny’s Edge. The name was public on the website for months and is mentioned in the very first scene of the story. It has also been openly discussed by Anet when they had us vote on it.
The subject itself has nothing to do with the story unfolding, but brings out the fact that a mistake in the grammar of the name (improper possessive usage) changes the meaning to one very inappropriate.
No Spoiler mentioned at all in the title, or really in the thread at all.
It is a grammar issue. The possessive is not being used properly here.
Exactly! The name itself isn’t bad, except for the grammar. Frankly the grammar mistake here distracts from everything else and makes the writers look like they failed 9th grade English. A real shame since Anet has such a wonderful team. hopefully it is corrected since it is such an integral part of the future of the game.
I really don’t want to go down in history as the leader of a guild that professed to be dragon minions.
Dragon’s Watch? Unless this is just a major grammar failure, it means we are “employed” or otherwise in league with a Dragon. Why would we suddenly be working for the very creatures we are set to destroy? The name highly suggests we are now a dragon minion! This is HORRIBLE.
My guess is they meant it more along the lines of Dragon Watch (or even Dragons Watch) which would imply that we are the group watching out for a dealing with Dragons. This is really going to make it hard to really enjoy the new story. So sad…
What’s the most crippling in revenant underwater is more how Unyielding anguish work, keeping ennemies out of it.
I actually enjoy seeing this as the underwater skill still uses the Beta version of the skill. The Beta version was very sweat! It got nerfed down to its current state because it was a new and interesting mechanic (displacement) that a lot of whiners in PvP complained about because it was “disorienting.” My take was that it was disorienting because it was new and unique which they hadn’t adapted to at the time. If they would have kept it in place (and some other Mallyx beta skills) then we’d have some great mechanics.
So, anyway that one skill is amusing underwater if only because it takes me back. It isn’t the best for underwater though. And Rev. in underwater in general is certainly and painfully broken.
I never knew this…While I agree mechanic wise Underwater Malyx is slightly more interesting mechanic wise, I think the version of Malyx we have for ground combat is slightly more practical because it adds some more mobility.
The original version was still ground targeted (underwater just removes that) so it had the mobility aspect still. What it did was offer a slight sanctuary in PvE where enemies couldn’t melee you for a moment (great against pocket raptors). In PvP it was great for capping/decapping because it could displace people out of the cap zone and they would have to burn some stability to get into your field. It was awesome and very strategic, but too many people complained because they didn’t want to adapt to a new mechanic. Then, as they often do, Anet caved in to the whining of a vocal minority.
No thanks! I’m glad the Rev. took a stand and said no to the greatsword! I’d like to see a dagger, a pistol, a rifle (very underused weapon), or a short bow (another underused weapon) added to their list before greatsword.

Would love for this trait (or something) to return Embrace the Darkness back to it’s former glory. The original Malyxx design was great! I know the reason given for why it was changed, but that reason never made sense. Reason was given that they didn’t want condi-cleanse to upset Revenant players. However the Heal and some traits kept the functionality of becoming more powerful with condies. I hate that the elite lost its luster.
Anyway, rant over. Appreciate that a dev is paying attention to Revenant again.
Reading this thread, we understand your questions and want to share a little information: This set is designed to be a special, exclusive set and therefore it’s a little different than most. There are a couple of other interesting factors that you’ll want to know: The set is available for one ticket. It will remain priced at one ticket into the future, so someone who wants it now doesn’t need to be concerned about it becoming unavailable or about it rising in price in the future. Other sets currently available are not account bound, such as the Cavalier Weapon Set which was recently released at a price of 1 Black Lion Claim Ticket and remains at that price now. In addition, we do intend to continue to offer tradeable sets in the future. If you’d like a preview of the new set, go to your bank wardrobe and filter for “Privateer.” We hope this answers your questions, and thanks for sharing your thoughts.

Why is the set special? Why would we think it’s anything but you testing the waters on how much you can screw over customer before there’s backlash?
“Why” is pretty much what I want to know too.
While I am not necessarily against having a set here or there that aren’t tradable, there should also be a solid reason as to why they aren’t. People should probably note the bolded part of the original post. If these indeed never go away (never get rotated out), and never go up in price, I can see that as part of a legitimate reason behind not letting them be tradable. Granted, I don’t necessarily feel that accounts for “enough” of a reason, but it’s a start.
My thoughts exactly. There is no indication of anything about this set being special. They aren’t named for the new Raid, they don’t have any significance to the story, they aren’t these legendary looking skins (they are nice though in my opinion). In the end, they don’t look or feel any different than any other BL set released.
Just sounds like a quickly crafted reason given to try to quell the angry cries. Would love for a dev to give a solid reason for the “special” moniker that was just given to this set.
No, the animation is horrid
There must be a plot twist because Dragon’s Watch means they’re working for the Dragon. LOL
This is exactly what my point was. The name sounds the coolest, but the apostrophe changes the meaning in such a way that I couldn’t vote on it. And unless we suddenly become friends with the remaining dragons it will be a rather awkward name.
GRAMMAR!
I don’t know why “Dragon’s Watch” is a choice? Why would they be watching anything for a dragon? Dragons are by and large their primary enemy. The apostrophe gives a possessive that implies that the group are working for dragon rather than against them. Grammar makes all the difference there.
I would have voted for “Dragon Watch” which would mean they are watching for dragons or their minions to enter the scene
Let’s see…
1) Mallyx went from a very cool design to being gutted because, as they say, they didn’t want people getting mad if a friendly removed conditions. And yet they still kept a number of traits and skills that still rely on conditions being on you. Seems either that was an excuse, or they got extremely lazy in their redesign
2) The OP mentioned no cooldown of legend swap, well they didn’t have one (or it was real low) in Beta. I believe that got removed because people switched back and forth so quick that energy was always replenished. Then they changed it so cooldown was during combat, but not outside, but that got removed because they said the constant superspeed out of combat was too much
3) Cooldowns on skills use to be extremely small. Just enough so you couldn’t cast the same one twice in a row within a second. That got nerfed all to you know where
4) Energy values on skills just keep going up while cooldowns go up as well. This has caused you to rely way too much on AA since you use 80% of your energy on a single skill half the time.
There are more, but I think I’m a bit tired at the moment.
I think your question would best be posed in the “Fractals, Dungeons, and Raids” forum. Below is the link for your convenience.
Look at it this way. The daily is a reward for completing a set of tasks. It is completely optional in every way. If you want the reward, complete the tasks.
A system designed to reward players for participating daily should be open to all types of players. Not only players who like or don’t mind certain types of content. Anyone familiar with MMOs in general knows that a LARGE percentage of players seriously dislike PvP, and yet GW2 dailies are mainly PvP oriented. This is simply a fact.
It is obvious that ANet wants to reward those players more than PvE players. Wanting to reward one group of players over another is unfair. I’m not saying that ANet shouldn’t do whatever they want – its their game. But there’s nothing wrong with the players on the short end of the stick complaining about it.
This argument is a dangerous one to make. PVE is tons more rewarding than PvP in nearly all aspects. You get much more gold for time invested. Not to mention legandaries which are almost entirely PvE oriented along with quite a few other rewards that can only be achieved via PvE or large sums of money (which is easier to get in PvE).
Again, I stand by my statement. If you want a particular optional reward then you must complete the given task for it. It isn’t like dailies can’t be done completely in PvE, there are just easier ways to get it if you want to step outside of a comfort zone.
Don’t think you meant for this to be in the Lore forum. However, I’ll still just leave this link here for you anyway.
However, UR is working as intended.
Not exactly. The confusion part is likely working as intended as it makes sense to me (risk of the skill and all). However the wall thing is not working as originally intended. They tried to fix it and failed multiple times, so basically just gave up and now just present it as how the skill works. Very unfortunate.
No, but you are complaining they are less casual-friendly when in fact, they have recently been made MORE casual friendly.
When days go by where I can not finish the dailies, they are not more casual friendly by any means. I keep hearing “do PvP”. NO, hate PvP. it sucks and has the very worst of the community in it. Will NOT PvP for any reason as it is not “how I want to play”.
Jumping puzzles? again, no. I would be happy if every single puzzle disappeared from the game forever. Activities? once in awhile but I pity the other players as I stand around until the timer runs out, only moving enough to keep from getting kicked.
There have been many different dailies, some better then others but for some reason they seem to keep going back to the worst ones again and again. It’s because you are choosing to make them more difficult than they really are by dismissing those that you simply do not like.
Actually it’s because they are trying to FORCE me to do game types I do not want to do. Remember, “play the way you want to play”.
How exactly are you being “FORCED” as you put it? Does your account get banned if you don’t do a daily? Do you get locked out of playing any particular way because you didn’t do a daily? Are the rewards so unique that you cannot play without them?
C’mon, if you don’t want to do the daily there is no lasting ramification for you choosing to spend your playtime doing other things. However if you want the reward then do what is required for said reward (which in this case isn’t much).
Look at it this way. The daily is a reward for completing a set of tasks. It is completely optional in every way. If you want the reward, complete the tasks. If the reward is not worth the effort required for it then simply don’t do it. It is the definition of optional
So, “play as you want” still completely applies here. Do you want the daily reward, if so then play as needed to get it. If you don’t, then that is perfectly fine, just don’t do it.
(edited by Invictus.1503)
Many have said it, dailies are obviously still casual friendly. The only way to really say they aren’t is if your definition of “casual” is to just get things handed to you automatically or by doing nothing but what you would normally do (kill 5 of any enemy perhaps?).
Fact is, they accomodated this when they added the bonus for simply LOGGING IN. That gives the most casual of casuals a reward. Then if you want the additional rewards, spend 15ish minutes doing something. It may be something you wouldn’t normally do, but you know what? That’s the point. I can’t see how the dailies could get much more casual without losing what little meaning they have.
I’ll keep my opinion as to whether I like the design or not to myself as it isn’t relevant to my point here.
I’d like to know why it is a crafting back item. We aren’t crafting the beer, we are receiving already brewed beer and simply tasting it. So why is my reward something that a brewmaster would want. I don’t know about anybody else, but I know that when I go out beer tasting, I certainly don’t carry around distills, hops, barley, etc.. This achievement isn’t about becoming a brewmaster, it is about sampling beers from around the world. I just don’t get the logic here.
For the same reason Glint is unusable really, her skills should work just fine underwater.
Ultimately it is simply because they probably figured Shiro and Mallyx would be the most popular and easiest to adapt to underwater. Remember, Anet has given up and barely even acknowledges that underwater exists in this game and thus put as little effort as possible into it.
Wiki is our friend, look at the list and do the math to figure out which you want to do. I kept a notepad of the Mastery Points I was going for to get to the magic number and then crossed them out as I did them and decided which to move onto.
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Mastery_point_unlocks
So you know, I got enough to unlock everything and didn’t get very many Adventure Mastery Points myself. Remember, there are potentially 139 HoT points to get and you only need 117 to unlock all HoT masteries, so you can avoid many of the ones you really don’t like or can’t do.

Wiki is your friend. http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Heart_of_Maguuma
From the above linked page:
The Heart of Thorns expansion is required to access this region. Activate the Heart of Thorns story in your Story Journal in the hero panel, then go to the Silverwastes and talk to the scout at the green star near Red Rock Bastion. Alternatively, enter your guild hall via the guild panel and walk through the exit portal.
Not everything should be able to be done mindlessly. Take your time, look around for a better way to do things, and keep trying. You should fail sometimes. I’ve done this puzzle multiple times and think it is great.
The problem now is with the energy so high, sure I can teleport to you, but what good is it? I only have energy left to AA.
Can’t have a patch without the obligatory nerf to Revenant.
So they can adjust a skill to not target stealthed enemies, but can’t fix it so it doesn’t target random inanimate objects?
Don’t you know, they only fix bugs that make Revenant worse. A bug fix that improves things may be misunderstood as a buff.
Seems they know. Timing of post suggests the maintenance was needed
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/info/news/Scheduled-Billing-Maintenance-May-15-2016
This has been a known issues since the betas. At first it seems like they treated it as a bug trying to fix it along with Unrelenting Assault which suffers the same issue. However in more recent comments about it the tone has changed to one that seems to suggest they meant to do this.
My guess, it is a bug that they tried and failed to fix and now they are simply pretending like it was always meant to be that way. Better to have a “bad design” than to have a “bug we can’t fix” from a PR perspective.
Wow, wish that could be the worst day of my life. Sounds like you’ve lived a rather charmed life. Anyway, congrats on the dye.
Didn’t you know, they can’t have a single patch without some Revenant nerf. It is the Anet way of things. Where is Roy when you need him
We can’t have a single update without a Revenant nerf
Legendary is more than just a name. Besides, like others have said, you can watch videos on it. They also just made Adventures easier so should be better for you. Finally, there is warning, it’s called WIKI, you can easily see the requirements of the collection from there.
I didn’t think I’d like the idea until I read the OP fully. A single use for one character consumable for the Gift of Exploration I think would work well. You’d have to choose between unlocking it all for a single alt, or using it for a legendary. You’d also need to do it fully again for it to unlock a second alt. I’m game, good idea!
This argument comes up all the time when a new feature comes out to make things easier. My opinion is simple. If you bought it within a month of the new functionality then sure, you can get a refund. If you bought it any time before that then you got your money worth from the item and the addition of something shinier or more convenient does not invalidate that, so no refund.
Ok, go ahead and flame me for this opinion, I’m ready for it
Quick question. In this, from the voice it seems that E is certainly a male. I can also assume not a Charr as their arm and hand would be instantly identifiable as that race. Was this poetic license or have those details been verified?
Either way I love it, just wondering on those points is all.
So will it be on rotation? So one week the Alpine and next week the Desert?
- Footfall effects definitely aren’t noticeable enough.
The footfalls are more noticeable than Nevermore’s. It is one thing that seems to be a theme with the new two handed legendaries if these two are any indication. Astralaria and H.O.P.E don’t seem to have this problem.
Huh? Didnt they just make sw 2 5 seconds?
and reduced the range from 600 to 450
Nothing really, I have 9 lvl 80s already and 2 stacks of tomes. I’ll probably just pick a dye for my collection from it and then be thankful for the extra shared slot.
Assuming a fresh account then. What class would you most want?
I’m a glutton for punishment and so like Revenant. They are in a very bad state right now, but they have a cool theme. Beyond them, I’ve played Necro consistently since GW2 launch.

At least with the Beetle Feast adventure when you start it, you can no longer reset it or change out of beetle form until the time limit elapses. Anybody else notice this?
Seems the Revenant was an after thought on this patch. Not nearly as many updates and almost no topics brought up by the players addressed here. Compare these notes to every other class notes and it is obvious they just didn’t know what to do with Revenants.
Notes:
Revenant
This quarter’s balance changes are focused on improving Ventari and the off-hand sword while slightly lowering the defensive capabilities of the Shiro legend. Legendary Assassin Stance is expected to be offensive and elusive but was too survivable overall.
Protective Solace: Fixed an issue that prevented the combo ring for this skill from being visible.
Riposting Shadows: The endurance gain of this ability has been reduced from 50 to 25.
Precision Strike: Increased the recharge time of this skill from 4 seconds to 5 seconds. The range of this skill has been reduced from 600 to 450.
Duelist’s Preparation—Shackling Wave: The immobilize duration has been increased from 2 seconds to 2.5 seconds. This skill is now available naturally during the course of Duelist’s Preparation. Blocking an attack will extend the availability of the skill beyond the blocking duration.
Grasping Shadow: This skill now grants 6 seconds of fury to the revenant and 3 seconds of chill to an enemy when the attack hits.
Enchanted Daggers: The healing from these daggers has been reduced by 5%.
Project Tranquility: The cost of this skill has been reduced from 10 energy to 5 energy.
Ventari’s Will: This skill is now instant. The recharge time of this skill has been increased from 2 seconds to 4 seconds.
Natural Harmony: Reduced the delayed time to heal from 1.5 seconds to 1 second. Increased the healing power contribution of this skill by 33%.
Energy Expulsion: This skill is now instant but has a 1-second delay for the explosion.
Probably because the upkeep skill itself doesn’t have a cooldown at all. It is the second “burst” skill that has the cooldown. If you let your energy go down to 0, then you didn’t use the second “burst” skill and therefore did not invoke its cooldown.
Am I missing something, or did the OP delete his/her post?
In regards to your title, they ARE anatomically correct. Apparently their anatomy is not what you would like. Human female breasts are actually an unusual trait in the animal kingdom.
Ok, thanks for that tip!
For the Gift of Hidden Descent though, you have to do stealth gliding will ALL classes? So you would need 8 characters (or 9 now if you include revenant)?
I wish I could also get Gift of the Itzel, but it seems that you need the last Itzel mastery for that, which I can’t get. (I suck at the adventure games, so cannot amass enough mastery points for the final one. But that is an entirely different story!)
Off topic, but as for your Itzel mastery and adventure woes, you don’t need to do all the adventures to get enough Mastery Points. In fact, you can do so with only getting a couple of the silver ones as long as you get all the other non-adventure Mastery Points. That is what I did. As for the few you have to get, well there are a few that are ridiculously easy to get silver on so you should be alright.
This is a great feature in every game (including the few areas of GW2 they are in) that I have ever played. I love this suggestion and would be ecstatic if it was implemented in the future.
