Yeah, I’m guessing the best bet is to go for the first level basic gliding, then switch to mushroom jumping to at least get to most of the early places at least. From there I got no idea.

Why? You should care about min/maxing your assassins/berserker gear when it actually matters – ie very organized speedruns and/or reflect bombs. In both cases Assassins wins, especially in the reflect niche. All other cases you technically “should” use berserkers but realistically the difference and value of your min/maxing by going berserkers is so small you won’t be able to tell a difference, even with a dps meter – we’re talking about 1% or less.

If anything, the only time you should “regret” getting assassins is when you shoot past 100% crit. And even then not always, it’s actually a good thing to go past 100% if your enemy is higher than lvl 80.

Fair enough. It helped level my tailoring and claws are cheaper than bloods anyways.

Pretty sure it’s bugged. I completed the story, but my masteries didn’t unlock and it still says I need to complete the storystep…

Super slow speeds. i normally get patches at 1-2Mb/s. Every time I switch asset servers, it starts out around 200-300Kb/s then gradually bogs down to single digits. This is awful. I’ve never had any trouble downloading patches before.

EDIT: Finally found a server that got me to 1-2Mb/s, but the launcher was borked out and reading the amount d’loaded and speed at Kb/s even though it had to be Mb/s given it finished in like a minute or two after an hour of going slow as balls.

Some of those “doing the math” folks have done the math and Scholar runes are the best DPS wise as long as your health is above 90% for at least 25% (I think that’s the percentage, but could be wrong) of the fight. If not, then Ruby Orbs are better.

I’d drop 5 in Trickery or Acro for 30 in CS for Executioner and swap one of the Acro traits to Vigorous Recovery if you’re running Withdraw.

I haven’t seen this question answered before.

Which of the two has the strongest autoattack?

I know that CnD > Backstab > AA rotation wins out, but for pure autoattack is Dagger still higher DPS?

Disclaimer: I have my moments of decency, but I’m mostly trash.

1. From Wiki:
Does not stack if used on both main hand and off hand weapons.

2. I think the standard is pretty much Force and Bloodlust, then swap out Bloodlust with Air or Fire when you get 25 stacks. I’m pretty sure you can actually go Bloodlust/Bloodlust and get to 25 stacks in 13 kills then swap them both out, but I don’t think many people do.

3. From Wiki:
Deals a fixed 452 damage at level 80.
Heals for 453 at level 80, and an additional 1 health for every 10 Healing Power.

Since I mostly dungeon, I use Night/Force or Air/Force if it happens to be Day. Bloodlust is a good option, but I prefer static passives. I’d use Fire on my sword instead of Air if I wasn’t so cheap. I think that Air is a better option for mainhand dagger though. As for gear, I use Berserker tinkets and Soldier’s armor with Ruby Orbs until I feel comfortable enough with the fight to go beserk. If you think you can stay above 90% most of the time, Scholar runes is a better option.

Unless you feel comfortable that you can keep your HP above 90% enough for Scholar to be worth it, Ruby Orbs are your best bet.

Just make an alt, strip it neked, and enjoy dirt cheap ports.

Don’t use sigil of fire on a dagger. Dagger is purely single target damage, so you want to focus your damage on single targets.

Exactly. Use Air instead. I use Fire on my sword.

IMO, the single greatest thing you can do to increase your survivabiliity is put 15 in Acrobatics and slot III – Gain vigor upon healing.

Pretty sure it’s simply because warrior swap CD reduction is for weapon skill CD management; thief has no weapon skill CD.

Yeah, it kinda sucks, but I feel like you kinda sign a disclaimer when deciding to Pug. I Pug pretty much every run I ever do because I don’t have any friends that play and my guild is never on when I am. If I get kicked or harassed I just kinda accept it since I knew what I could be getting into. Unfortunately, it’s just life, some people are kittenbags.

Yeah, I fell certain that the hit box is the same for every race, but it has to be easier for a player to overlook an Asura than a big burly Norn or Charr. That said, I think you should just play whatever race you like the most.

The patch hasn’t really changed my build any. I’m so psyched that they smoothed out my Pistol Whip; it feels so much more fluid. The Steal CD drop to 35 is always nice. The ability to make a steal spam build with 10/30/0/0/30 seems like it could be some decent buffs for party support, but it doesn’t fit my playstyle really.

I’d love to see axe offhand added. I’ve wanted so badly to be able to roll with sword/axe.

Indeed. I don’t think anything trait-wise changed for s/p. That pistol whip feels sooo smooth now though.

The fastest way has always been crafting. You get ten levels for leveling a crafting discipline to 400 and there are 8 disciplines, do the math. If you have some extra gold you don’t mind spending, head over to gw2crafts.net and get your craft on. Outside of that, the beautiful thing is that you can level doing whatever you enjoy doing most. Like exploring, do map completion. Like Dynamic Events, farm chains. Like dungeons, run em. Like WvW, play it. Like sPvP, you don’t even need to level. For dungeons you need to be Lvl 30 and they suggest you be Lvl 30 (when you unlock your elite skill) before you try WvW. So either craft or just do whatever you like and you’ll get there soon enough. I’m kinda impatient, but I like dungeons. So I usually do hearts until about Lvl 10 (when my head starts to fell like it’s going to explode), then craft Chef and Jewelcrafting to 400 which gets me to Lvl 30, then run dungeons and do dailies until 80.

Got mine night before last from a champ elemental while doing Jormag.

I’m just really lazy so I opted to WP to every one except the ones that were close together. It only ended up costing about 25s to get all 50. I did something to minimize the time and money a little tough. Instead of waypointing to all 30 then switching characters and waypointing to 20 more, I WP to one and light it, guest to different server light it again, WP to next one (or run if it’s close) and light it, switch back to my server and light it again, etc. This way I only ended up waypointing about 15-20 times for only about 25s. And you get 1g from the story instance that takes like 5 mins. Not sure that way is for everyone, but it works for the lazy.

So I’m currently on a NA server as I’m in the US, but I’m going to be moving to Japan in about 2 months. Will I be able to stay on my current server? Anybody had any experience playing on a NA server from there? Are NA servers what people in that area normally play on?

I’m a little concerned, so any info at all would be great!

Sigil of Smothering and Sigil of Night for the 2 weapons if you care enough, those 2 stack in there, 2 smothering do not.

I’ve been wondering if I’d get more damage out of a Night sigil instead of Accuracy which I am currently using.

The wings are a back item just like any other and back items aren’t currently dye-able. I think the ability to dye back pieces is something people have been requesting for a while. I suppose one day they may decide to add it but given the amount of work they’ve put into the look and animations, i kinda doubt it.

I have often thought about how useful this would be myself. Including skill slots as well.

I agree, I’m kinda turned off. I thought i might like them at first. Then i stared at the preview a few more seconds and realized that my own character may end up giving me a headache.

Joined these guys a couple months ago as a total noob. They’re quite the interesting bunch, ridiculously amusing and extremely helpful. We do pretty much anything that anybody feels like doing. We’re in our mumble pretty much every night, even if we’re not currently playing. We like to chat with and get to know our peeps on mumbles, so if you want some friends, give us a shout.

I have the same issue. I really wish there was some way to have the items you want in your invisible bag to default to it and the other trash to stay out of it. I’m constantly having to move my weapons back into it when I swap them out and move out trash that ends up in the few slots I have open. An option to mark items as invisible would be cool. That could be sorta complicated though, so I’d settle for soulbound items defaulting to the invisible bag.

Still here? Alrighty then. I suppose that means you’d like to know a little about what I’m looking for in a guild. Are you ready? I’m a picky SOB.

Casual – Unfortunately, I tend to stay fairly busy, so I can’t make any activity commitments.
Laid back – If the word serious describes any aspect of your guild, it is probably not for me.
Humorous – Frequent laughs and general ridiculousness are a must!
Un-censored – I would like the freedom to drop an F-bomb if I feel so inclined.

As you can probably tell, I am more concerned with the peeps, than the various gameplay aspects most people seem to be concerned with when finding a guild. I want to have fun and joke around while I play.

And lastly (yes, I know, another friggin demand)…

New – I don’t want to join an older guild with 50+ members, all with three lvl 80’s. I’m very interested in helping a new guild with some awesome peeps get off the ground. Being a noob and all, there’s probably not much I can realistically do to help, but I can dream…

I’m not really invested in the chars I have, nor my current server, so I’d gladly transfer if need be.

The way the guild is structured, is really awesome. As the guild grows, there will be more and more houses (sub-guilds) that can cater to the specific interests of everyone and also allow for more tightly knit groups within. Because of this, no matter how big we get, you’ll never get lost in the crowd. Mythdren has also created a pretty sweet site for the guild with a forum. The potential for this guild is huge; and remember, anyone is welcome.
