SELL/SALVAGE ALL RUNES OPTION!

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Pretty self-explanatory based on the title. I’d like to know why this isn’t possible yet. It’s been 5 years of clicking sell on every individual green rune in our inventory.

Arenanet has made MANY excellent Quality of Life improvements on the game with similar premises. The “consume all” options and “salvage all” options. This is an important next step.

Please, give us an option to salvage or sell all of our near-worthless green runes all at once.

@OP: By “build usage” do you mean Meta Builds, which would mean PvP/WvW/Raids? Cuz nothing’s preventing one from using a hammer other than people’s view of what is best for those areas.

Sort of. I looked at meta builds too ofc. Guardian hammer is one of those.

I’m a guy. All of my characters are female (I have 12). I think they look better. I like the voices better. I’m used to judgemental pricks who think theyre the definition of normal giving me trouble over it. But that’s rare for me online. I play to entertain myself, not them.

I agree. I came back to the game after a couple years of being gone recently. Working on Sharur. I’m just curious whether or not the EotM maps work for it. Those I used to find moderately enjoyable when you ran with a zerg. The Normal wvw maps though? I HATE fighting other players. I’ve tried it numerous times and never once found it enjoyable. On the contrary, it’s tedious and stressful.

Get some boosters and you are done in 6-7-8hours top. Try to complete as many dailies as possible and consume the potions. A full track is roughly 75 of those.

Hi anet! Returning player here

It kind of seems like the Hammer is going the way of the dodo in terms of build usage. Heck, NONE of the new specializations coming out use hammers. No warrior builds use hammers, Rev’s use them but theyre weak (and once shortbow comes out I doubt they’ll be used at all.) Just guardians, and even then they might be less useful once the PoF meta is established.

Not just hammers either. Greatswords, scepters, foci. These weapons seem to be seldom used at all. I know game balance is a fine line, and it’s extremely difficult to make everything useful at the same time. But I just figured I’d ask and see what other people thought of it.

Thanks! <3

I have done map completion 4 times.
I have 2 legendaries.
I have full ascended gear.
I have done every dungeon path.
I have done every fractal.
I have done every jumping puzzle.
I have done every guild mission.
I have unlocked every mastery in wvw.
I have done every living story season 2 achievement.
I have rerolled a new character and unlocked all the traits manually.

Create and grow a guild. Make it as you want a guild to be
Organize Teq/3-H worm events with your guild
Explore the World with all 8 classes and each of the 5 races
Play PvP
Form a PvP Team
Play EotM
Command EotM
Play WvW
Command WvW
Create and grow a WvW Guild
Switch to a no so great WvW server, help to grow it

There are more things to do in GW2 than on your list.

The trend I see between whyt you’r done and what you’ve missing: Interact more with the community, that’s what an MMO is good for.

Done it all. Now what?

Very much in the same boat here. Just finished my third legendary. 10 lvl 80’s. Bank full of tonics and other crap from the gemstore. Done every dungeon and lots of fractals. All decked out characters with builds and tons of skins. I’ve become convinced at this point that the only thing that will get me interested again is something on the scale of an expansion, which LS will never be. That and ive become extremely cynical towards anet, theyve all but convinced me they only care about gemstore cashgrab. At some point they figured out they could get a lot more money from the gemstore than actually releasing large amounts of content through an expansion. Which is why I doubt we’ll ever see one. They arent working on SaB. They arent working on new Dungeons. It doesnt look like theyll be doing legendaries or new precursor crafting soon. What is supposed to keep me interested? Playing pvp or wvw over and over and over? Collecting skins and doing every little achievement used to be enough for me but that changed at some point. I dont know why.

Anet planned player housing since before the release of the game and we were all expecting it within the first 6 months at least. As far as I know it hasnt been touched since then. And I doubt it ever will. Unfortunate but probably true, as player housing would be awesome.

I wouldn’t like capes for GW2. I just dislike how they look, and even without discussing “issues” concerning the Charr, they wouldn’t suit Charr anyway. They’re a race of efficient and rational soldiers who prioritise functionality over aesthetics. I don’t think any Charr alive would wear a cumbersome piece of cloth that has no functional value.

Think again.
What about this picture of a Charr with human blond hair?

If you see those silly human haircuts on a charr, trust me – a cape is nothing.

I guarantee that there’s a cape design out there somewhere that you would like. on humans OR charr. And I’d say a lot of people dont care more about keeping in line with charr racial policies as opposed to a shiny piece of cloth down the back to make them look cool.

I can absolutely agree with your post. I’ve been playing since the headstart and a couple days ago I finished my third legendary. Up until this point I’ve convinced myself that there was always something more to do. And technically there is. I just dont want to do any of it. I have 10 80’s. an ungodly amount of skins, tonics, boosters, mats, whatever. I mean I could always grind for ascended gear but… for 10 80’s?…. forget about it. And it doesnt make much of a difference regardless. I’ve grinded for legendaries…. THREE BLOODY TIMES now. I always assumed that I’d keep working for new legendaries but… I just dont feel it anymore. Its all been done a thousand times by a thousand other people anyway.

The point is, I’m burnt out. And besides some friends who are just returning from being burnt out themselves, there’s nothing thats keeping in the game. It feels like every day I log in, stand around and think… “now what?” I mean pvp is fun i guess but im not much good at it. I try it once in a while but I get bored pretty quick. Things like wvw and eotm are fun for a little while but what is my end goal? Just more gameplay? I’m sorry but I dont find pvp/wvw content exciting enough to hold my interest for another two years.

And its depressing, but I’ve become extremely cynical of Anet’s management over the game. I believe that some big-wig execs at NCsoft are pulling all the strings and focusing the game on gemstore cashgrabs as opposed to updates that will really keep players in for years. I feel like theyre just squeezing every penny out of us that they can until the game is dead and we move onto their next cashgrab project. ITS BUMMING ME OUT kitten! I wasnt always like this. but after two years of plushie quaggan backpacks I just cant take it anymore.

I mean… Even a big part of the gw2 staff (as Josh Foreman said) would like to see Cantha back again. I don’t know if we can do anything to change ArenaNet mind about the game but maybe… I don’t know maybe some kind of petition signed by a large number of players loving Cantha and hoping to have it back would work.

They wont. I’ve been playing this game since headstart. I know im being a “Debbie Downer” here. but I’ve become pretty convinced by this point that Anet’s policies only revolve around short-term profit. And by Anet i mean NCSOFT. Whom are probably preventing anet from working on anything good for long-term health (like Cantha, more dungeons, etc) in favor of the lucrative money theyre making from the gemstore. Essentially theyve found their comfort zone and theyre gonna stick to it. I see a future filled with plushie quaggan backpacks and small two-week story segments.

Dont misunderstand. I would LOVE to see Cantha. Or ANY large map update. Pretty much anything that I could spend more than two hours on every two weeks. Its just that i’ve become jaded to any possibility of it happening.

This is the second time ive had this happen.

I have full virus protection, computer maintenance programs, google authenticator, AND an ip check in case someone tries to log into my account or change my password from ANYWHERE else.

and yet twice ive tried logging in to find my password doesnt work anymore!!! The first time (at least a month ago) I crashed in the middle of a eotm run and when I tried to log in, it said my password was different. This time I just tried logging in after work, and my password didnt work. Both times I simply changed it and everything worked perfectly. I have nothing missing from my account from what I can see. all of my characters are in the same spots, etc.

Ive run scans on my computer and everything. And yet AGAIN this has happened. What the heck is going on? If someone tried to change my password , they would need to get into my email (and ive checked my activity there too, all normal.) if they tried to log into my account they’d get blocked and I would be notified via email (this has happened before, I got emails warning me that someone from beijing tried to get in and they were blocked.) And my authenticator works as well. Ive used it at a friends house before who has a different I.P than me and it requested the code.

and if they DID change my password after getting through all THIS ^ stuff, why wouldnt they take anything?

Someone please tell me how on earth they could get through all of this protection. Or if this is just some weird-kitten program glitch. It seems impossible to me that anyone could change my password without me being notified in ANY way.

I have played gw2 across all characters for 3,099 hours 4 minutes over the past 376 days. I have thrown more than 600g + worth of gold and mats into the mystic forge hoping to get a bloody precursor, and all i ever got was fracking junk. WTF !!

The game is awesome, love the feature pack etc. but the RNG and pre drop is just too frustrating and stressful. I’m immensely disappointed. GG well done.

P.S.
Yes, I know I’m kittening :P
But I sincerely hope Anet would change how the precursors and RNG b*ll kitten work in game if not gl to fellow gamers who have the same or worst RNG.

They’ll give us precursor crafting eventually. They keep coming up with ideas that will implement it and then they scrap them. Been done like 2-3 times now

I rather have content that changes how the game plays (new skills, customizable weapon skills, 3rd heavy armor class, etc) than something that costs a lot of work and just gives some new looks. I think a new race is way too much work because they need to make whole new starting area, new story, etc. I would rather have those devs work on new end-game areas and content that everyone can enjoy (For example Cantha and a Kurzick vs Luxon or more quests and story for the three Orders)

I want both :o

You know, you could have just made a typo when putting in your password. You didn’t say that you tried it more than once before changing it. A typo would give you that warning and considering that you haven’t seen any indications of a hack, it’s a distinct possibility.

Gaile Gray

A large number of the tickets that we receive reveal that folks typo a lot. They may think they are typing the password on the account, but they’re off by a letter or number, or they forgot that they used a capital letter instead of lowercase.

I tried it three times and once at the website itself. Had to reset through my email. and I know it was right because I have the exact password written down on a pad including upper/lowercase. And I live in a community of old people… noone’s gonna steal it lol.

NO.

More crap just to be able to use my characters is bordering on the absurd. I left the last 3 games I played because of that crap. If your account has been breached, you sweep your computer with AV software, or if you dont trust such software like I dont, wipe out the harddrive. Then you change the password of your email in guild wars. Then you change both the password to your guild wars account to something harder to break, and change the associated email to a brand new and unused email.

So i can do AAAAAAAALL of that Sh— or… I could just have a simple code on my character to make them harder to get to… I think youre confusing which would be a bigger pain in the A—

It sounds like you were hacked or at least there was an attempt made. Lucky for you it sounds like you changed your password in time before any damage was done.

For your own safety though, check your e-mail that is attached to your account. See if there is a log in attempt. Check your deleted messages folder to see if there is a log in attempt in there. If nothing, also see if you have an option to recover deleted messages and see if there is an attempted log in as well. Hopefully all this proves to be clean. If not, you need to change that password immediately.

Anet’s official response is they are backlogged to due all these hacked and rollback requests coming in. If your lost your items and gold, expect it to take at minimum a week to get things back. They are claiming the the breach isn’t on their side but the user’s fault as 99% of the time the e-mail was compromised.

While it’s probably true the person’s email was compromised, what they fail to realize is that in some (if not many) cases, the hackers are getting people’s e-mails off of Anet’s site. These e-mails could have been obtained during their last security breach (back in 2012). There are also many people whom have taken all the suggested security measures by Anet and still got hacked.

The next issue is the one account rollback. If you did not roll your account back before, you are guaranteed to be safe (as long as everything checks out on your account). There are instances (I know of at least 1, where multiple roll backs have been granted) but don’t rely on it.

The bigger issue I see is with people like yourself who’ve spent loads of money on the game. It doesn’t make sense business wise to alienate players like you from the game whom have spent lots of money. Driving people away from the game who spend money is not entirely smart. It also doesn’t give confidence to people whom are willing to spend money to actually do so if there is a chance they lose their stuff. I myself lost gems, so why would I ever buy them again?

There was no security breach back in 2012. Exactly how do you know ‘hackers’ are getting information off of any ArenaNet site? What proof have you of these allegations? I keep seeing you spout this in all the threads, but it is the first I have heard of it. You should really stop spreading these rumors, and trying to frighten the playerbase.

As to the OP, it could just as well have been a glitch in the program after your crash. Your password not responding is not always an indication that someone tried to compromise your account, as there have been threads about the password resetting with no ‘hack’ attempt whatsoever.

I’m not sure how many, if any, threads I’ve seen about accounts that had a Mobile Authenticator (that the account-owner personally) enabled that were compromised. Usually, it was placed on the account by the ‘hacker’.

As for the ART, the policy is and has always been…one restoration per account, usually, but that each case/time is decided individually, and circumstances may influence Customer Support’s decision.

Thanks for your post. I’m still paranoid (understandably i think) but its very good to know that situations like this have happened with no actual hacking attempt.

It’s especially nice after two virus scans (both for keylogger software) and checking both of my email accounts for activity AND checking my gw2 account for activity AND changing my passwords and still finding nothing. All of this plus the authenticator….. if they can get through all that stuff… just wow.

Their reason behind their 1 rollback policy is due to the over inflation of the economy (which I can understand). There is a very easy way to combat this though, hard gold sinks. Ones that will have little effect to 98% of the players, and only to the gold sellers or those whom buy the gold seller’s gold

One other concern I thought of is, how safe is our credit card info on Anet’s servers (if it’s there) if we’ve purchased gems? Looking at old threads I see that Anet does in fact store credit card information (not sure if this is still the case). How exactly safe is it really? If hackers can obtain our e-mails off their server, whats to say they can’t get a hold of our credit card info. Best be safe to watch that too.

As to whether are not ANet has a security breach as you are alleging, this is what she has to say:

Gaile Gray
ArenaNet Support Liaison
“I want to point out, once again, that a compromise of our system would result in tens of thousands of hacked accounts and thousands of forum threads, not the handful that you see. Again, we’re taking longer (too long, we confess it!) to address compromised accounts. The delay sometimes drives people to the forums, meaning that we see a few threads that in a normal day would not be visible. But we are not seeing dozens, hundreds, or thousands — and that assuredly would be happening with a security issue within our system.”

Thanks for the quote Astral. I guess that’s slightly reassuring = /… slightly…

Do they only save it if you click on the option to save your card? I have that option unchecked to avoid the monthly limit or w/e. Mine has been like that since before December or so.

Edit: Also: Having an unstable in-game economy is one way to drive players away… but having an unstable security system seems like a worse way. I dont personally understand how the economy effects the rollbacking (not that it doesnt, just havent given it much thought before) but it seems like the 1 rollback limit is the bigger worry here… to me at least >.<.

Thanks for your post

Also if you want to explain the rollback/economy thing I’d love to read it. Curious now.

[Suggestion]Player Housing :)

As one of you said, they had already planned player housing before the release of the game (I dont remember where they said it but they did.) They then apparently dropped it and havent said a THING about it since from what I can tell. I would like to have individual player housing personally but…. I have some concerns:

Concerns: As yove all no doubt noticed, the game has suddenly become more populated!…. it hasnt really, its just the megaservers doing their duty. But the point here is, its lovely being able to see so many people around like in Gendarran and other areas. I’m worried that if they come out with guild halls and player housing, people will be spending less time in hub locations and more time in those instances. This could very well lead to the game feeling empty and would make me a very sad Panda.
Even if people are afking in hub cities, we can see their characters. That makes a big difference in my book than if they were afking somewhere else.

I’d like to know what others think about this ^.

Thank you very much for your response!

I checked my email and different boxes to look for attempt-emails. There were none and I didnt see any recovery options. For good measure I changed my email password as well. I know that the authenticator system works because I’ve had attempts from China before and theyve been succesfully blocked (good job letting them get my password by the way anet.) What concerned me here is that there was no message at all about attempts. I even checked through my account on the website here and there havent been any logins from anywhere else besides my home internet.

I havent had a virus on this computer in…. nearly EVER. But to be safe I’m currently running an Avast scan to look for potential keyloggers anyway. I dont believe Ive ever had my account rolled back before. The only change theyve ever made to my account is to refund some gems and move my account back to my original server after I accidentally switched and I dont believe that was a rollback as nothing had been lost/changed besides what I listed here.

As you said, this is a huge concern for people like me who have invested a ton of time and money into the game. I just finished my 2nd legendary a month ago and im finishing up my 10th 80. That stuff plus the $700 makes this a very big problem.

For anyone from anet reading this: I CANNOT stress enough… what a dangerous thing you folks have going on here. As I’m sure NCSOFT would be quick to remind you guys, you are a business foremost over everything else. I’ve been an excellent customer to you guys and I love your game, but it really feels like you arent taking these hacking attempts seriously. I say this because of the /one time rollbacks/ and the finger of blame being pointed at US for being hacked. I know that there are tons of people playing this game and it’s a TON of work to take care of all of us. But at the risk of sounding like some spoiled kid, you need to take care of us. We’re customers and we deserve not only assurance that our time and money werent wasted, but assurance that if things go wrong, we can rely on YOU to help us. And i mean always, not just once.

You’ve helped me out with problems before and I really appreciate the work you do. But it’s important that your customers feel safe and cared for. These account hacks really make us feel uneasy. A good first step to help would be to rescind your strict rollback policy. The fact that we could be abandoned if youve already helped us once is such a horrible thought, that it makes me want to run for the hills and never play this game again. Empathy is key here, just want to remind everyone of that = /

I was playing Edge of the mists just 10 minutes ago. (this is AFTER the server changes) Suddenly my game crashed to desktop and asked me for an error report. THEN I tried to log back in and it said my password was WRONG! I knew for a fact that it was the right password but I quickly went to the website here and changed my password to something different. I was able to log in after that.

Was someone trying to hack my account? I have a strange password as well as the google authenticator attached to my account. NOBODY should be able to get into my account without my receiving a notification about it and granting permission.

Now I get onto the forums and I read all of these threads about hacked accounts and security leaks. I would like an official response on what this was. Also for information on what else I could do to further protect my account. I assumed that the current security restrictions would be more than enough. (the authenticator + password)

I’m also reading about account rollbacks and it only being possible once. Do I have to worry about this now? I’ve spent well over $700 on this game since day one and I’ll be kitten ed if some hacker gets through my already adequate security and ruins everything i’ve worked and paid for.

I await your response

This is stuff that the player-base really wants.

So no, don’t expect it anytime soon.

^ Yep = /

This isnt necessarily the rule, but changes like this in particular that people have been looking for since day 1 have a tendency not to show up for a long while. Wondering how many people will still be playing by the time they put Guild Halls in GW2.

What they wont add.

I’m a Gw1 vet… still here. Have been since Pre-launch. Anyway that out of the way. I have to admit, I was hoping for similar expansions as in Gw1. I Hoped for Cantha…. I wanted assassins. No..Thieves are not assassins. I hoped for Ritualists. I would have been happy with either.

I also hoped for an Elona expansion. Defenitely wanted to see Dervishes in some form.

What i hoped for out of the way. What we will never get, I hope.

Mounts of any form. Every day we seem to get " hey here’s a new topic, can we get mounts?" " MMO bla bla bla has mounts…. if we don’t get Mounts ….people will leave!!!!!! ESO … bla bla bla…"

DPS Meters. No no no no no no no no no and no!

" Maybe in the next expasion they can lift the cap to 90??? why not? MMO bla bla bla raised it to 90…. they are way ahead of us!!! they have it, we should have it, if we don’t get it… ….people will leave!!!" " ESO Bla Bla bla!!!"

For some reason it seems that there are many players that go from MMO to MMO trying to turn the MMO’s they play into a clone of " that game which shall not be named." And then when it does turn into a clone of " that game which shall not be named…" they complain …" hey this is a clone of .." that game which shall not be named." "

I hope the dev team stays strong. There may be things they still have to do to get the game better polished…but…. making gw2 into either a Clone of " That game which shall not be named…" Introducing any of the previous three…. or trying to make this seem more Like TESO, are not steps we would want them to make here.

" Make mine gw2"

Thanks for your contribution :o
I’m personally doubting whether or not they’ll ever add another region (to the size of Cantha or Elona at least.) I really gave up hope when they announced that they had no plans at all for any expansions. I’m even starting to doubt if they’ll add any races or professions. Really worried that this is all due to business on NcSoft’s part. They’ve scrubbed projects in the past and I’m concerned that theyre adopting a “we can make plenty of money with things as is, why invest in expansion-size changes?” policy towards gw2. In that case, the dev’s could only work within the limits set by the corporation. In the end, Ncsoft makes the rules of the game (literally and figuratively.)

What they wont add.

Real GW1 vets (no longer) don’t play GW2.

Oh gee, must have just imagined that I played that game for half a decade… never mind dude…

Seriously though, try to actually contribute something?

The April 15th patch notes will explain that Minecraft bought a controlling interest in this game and is planning to reconfigure the world into little blocks. The sun was the first stage.

With the April 29th patch notes, personal and guild homes can be built by cutting out blocks of earth and using the cubes to build structures.

Dueling will be announce on May 13th but only with environmental weapons. Mounts also will be allowed but only on the computer generated sheep that will be randomly roaming around.

On May 27th the ultimate mount will appear, a cubic version of the dragon Mordremoth. The rider will be Scarlet. (She’s BAAACKK!)

Lets all just leave and play minecraft -jk

So I was reading that list of suggestions from the “Complaint/Request Complilation thread” Among them I found something I think that would solve a lot of our current gripes:

“Devteam that listens and either can tell us what’s possible and not and not make promises it can’t keep”

Now I think you folks listen well enough, but the part I want to you look at here involves telling us what you cannot/will not do.

Just for an example: There’s that HUGE thread on Cantha in the general forums right now. Been around for a long while too. Based on Guild Wars 1’s features, many of us have been expecting at least some of what we got then. At the very least, Cantha and Elona. The world is -not- complete without it.

But see the problem here isnt that the game doesnt have these features. The problem is that the game doesnt have these features and judging from your responses, it NEVER will.
Personally, as a vet gw1 (and now long time gw2) player, I want you developers to tell us what you WILL NOT add. Now I understand that plans change and some features that might not be planned yet, could still potentially be added. But I’m also willing to bet money that there are some features that you know RIGHT NOW, you will never add to the game. I’m getting the feeling that Cantha and Elona are just a couple of them.

I dont think it’s a stretch to say that a good number of us are still around (and bought this game in the first place) because of those expectations. I’d also be willing to wager that you devs at ArenaNet know that too. That said, tell us what you wont add! No doubt it would be unwise of you to tell us hopefuls what you wont add, as there’s a good chance a bushel of us would go find another playground instead of waiting around here praying for something that’ll never come. But regardless I thought it important to put it out there, if not for the rest of the playerbase then just for my own satisfaction.

As for the good forum-stalkers reading this, let me ask you: What do YOU think they wont ever add? How does that make ya’ feel? Feel free to criticize my post, it’s 3:30am and I’m in a bit of a mood so I might not have got everything right.

As always we ask you to try out the new system of customization (snip)

One does not need to try out the new customization to know that

1. Outfits as ALL OR NOTHING is COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE.
2. Individual clothing pieces that were purchased to mix with other individual clothing pieces that are turned into tonics that can only be used one at a time and produce an Anet decided choice of complete outfits that are not even dyable is COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE.

(snip)

Dear ANet:

Using Rabbi Rick’s highly logical statement as a starting point, I have decided to dramatize this conversation, to illustrate and inform, and perhaps to get it through your collective skull that has been so thickened by the pressures of trying to organize things while being multiple people.

Picture ordering a burger at McDonald’s, or some other establishment that exchanges burgers for money if you prefer. You order a hamburger. It comes with lettuce and onions, but you forgot to say you didn’t want lettuce and onions— oh well! No need to mention it, since it’s easy to fix. You take off the lettuce and onions, and sit down to enjoy your burger.

You are halfway through your burger when an employee comes up, takes your burger, and hands you another one. It doesn’t just have lettuce and onions on it— all the toppings, including lettuce and onions, are taped on with duct tape covered in a pattern of little Ronald McDonalds. “But I didn’t want—” you start, but the employee cuts you off.

“Sorry, but we’ve got a new policy now. You have to eat the whole thing now, or none of it. It’s too inefficient to keep customizing burgers. Now we can make more burgers, faster! Also, you can take the burger wherever you want, and the toppings won’t fall off!”

“Why couldn’t I just keep eating the burger that I already had?” you wonder aloud.

A guy waiting at the counter sneers, “Well if you liked being able to customize your burger so much, why didn’t you tell them that before they changed it?”

“I didn’t know they would change it!” you retort indignantly, then turn back to the employee. “So, now I’m telling you: I liked the burger I already had. Why can’t I keep it?”

“Well,” the employee responds, “if you found a problem with it, due to our new policy, we wouldn’t have been able to do anything about your old burger, because we don’t want to keep fixing old burgers.”

“But I didn’t have a problem with my old burger…”

A guy sitting at the next table over pipes up. “My friends and I wanted to be able to take our burgers anywhere without the toppings falling off. Now we can! We don’t care if we can’t choose the toppings!”

“Isn’t that a pretty bad way to make a burger portable though?” you wonder. “Surely there’s got to be a better way. Maybe put it in a removable wrapper or something…”

Ignoring you, the employee continues, “We don’t support old burgers. But now, if you find a problem with your new burger, we can fix that!” He doesn’t seem to get that your problem is with the entirety of the new-burger situation.

“But I don’t like lettuce and onions!” you retort. “I want my old burger back, or to be able to take the lettuce and onions off this one! Or at least the duct tape…”

“Sorry, it can’t be helped. We apologize,” says the employee.

A guy just coming out of the bathroom says, “Well I don’t even eat burgers. Just ask for your money back if you don’t like it.”

You decide this is less ideal than having the burger you liked back, but at least it’s something. “I don’t want an apology; I want you to fix this, or I want my money back!”

“You’re eligible for a refund if your cheeseburger was replaced!” the employee says cheerfully. “Oh, it’s a hamburger? You don’t get a refund for that. Only cheeseburgers.”

“But… but that’s ridiculous!” you retort.

A guy in a booth across the room yells, “Well, why don’t you just ask for a refund then?”

“He just said I can’t get one!” you answer, wondering how this could have gone so wrong so quickly.

Another guy a couple tables down adds, “I think it’s a good thing, if it lets them make more burgers more quickly! I just hope I don’t have to have pickles on mine.”

“But you do have to have pickles!” you cry, exasperated. “He just said that! All I want is the burger I had, the one that I paid for! Why did you even sell it to me if you knew your burger-making policy was about to change!?”

“What are you so upset about?” the employee asks, scoffing at you as he starts duct-taping your old burger together. “You should try it before you say you don’t like it!”

^ I’m not entirely sure of my own opinion on this whole mess but regardless, this was epic. Fantastically written.

I’ve been trying to get into a server to beat Tequatl since the update on him. Never been able to do it. The time runs out or we all get killed, or some other stuff happens.

So FINALLY today I get into a server and we almost have him beat, just a few minutes on the clock. AND MY GAME @*#&$*(&#(%N#EGH IN CRASHES!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I logged back in instantly after the error message and even though I was in the same server, it kicked me out into overflow and wouldnt even give me a right-click join option on my party members to get back in. WHAT.THE.HELL.

This kind of thing never happens when I’m playing regular gameplay and right when I’m finally about to complete this event for the first time, THIS happens. It is the most infuriating thing to be completely screwed out of such a long-awaited award and it’s unacceptable. What do you need to do to fix this? Seriously.

Isnt there some way to detect if youve JUST been in an event like this so you can at least get CREDIT for it? I want a mod answering this and to explain to me why I’ve been so unfairly denied what i’ve waited for so long. Why should I be punished for game-related issues? My computer is top-notch and I run the game on high setting with very little issues. This feels very much like a server problem to me and a ton of people have had the same issue. Fix it. Please.

Do you hate Trahearne?

Nightingale.9714

Gone through the personal story 9 times. First on a sylvari, then started on other races. Trahearne only serves to remind me of what i’ve lost during the story (the specific people from the orders) His bland, monotone voice conveys little to no emotion and the way the story is written gives me absolutely no reason to empathize or care about him. One minute youre there with a cool character you care about (Tybalt for example) and the next, theyre gone and all you have left is Trahearne’s uninspired saltine cracker character in your face. The personal story was developed around him from lvl 50 on, it’s not about you anymore. Youre just there to watch him fulfill his Wyld Hunt and bask in the admiration of the members of the pact while you sit on the sidelines.

In my opinion the only possible way that anet could make up for him would be to: Give him a horrible, horrible fate. Like getting turned into some dragon’s general or something. Something that 1. removes him from the story as an important character. 2. Gives me a reason to be interested in what happens to him. If they make him an enemy, it would be excellent.

Ive already read some posts on this forum full of complaints regarding the new changed to sylvari armor and it’s glow. I feel that theyre unjustified and I wanted to make a thread thanking the folks at Anet for the hard work they put in to make this happen.

So: Thanks very much Anet, Its updates like this that let us know youre still listening to your community. The changes look excellent.

For those of you who doubt the work that went into this, I suggest you read the thread with a post by Kristen Perry regarding the process and learn to appreciate it.

My dyes have changed?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Nightingale.9714

This is excellent work. Ive read posts on this upcoming change in the sylvari section where they explained exactly how hard it is to make this kind of update and the flat-out truth is that you ought to be grateful. They put in a lot of work to make the sylvari glow work and it should be appreciated. I know we’re all very sorry that YOUR special combination of dyes that was just PERFECT before no longer looks the same. But I’m afraid youre just gonna have to find something else that works….

And another thing: this kind of update took several months to get released since its inception, if you try and make them rework it again: not only will you not see it for quite a while, but you might like it less. Not to mention the fact that many of us like myself really like the changes.

Bottom line: Bite the bullet and get used to the change. There are new combinations to explore and ONE of them will meet your needs. Thank anet for responding to our cries for this change and make it work.

Collaborative Development Topic- Living World

Nightingale.9714

I’ll come back at a later date to add more to this thread. However at the moment I feel like the biggest changes I would like to see with the Living world are as follows:

More permanent, easy-paced content for people to leave and come back to.

Expending onto the painted-over areas of the map that already exist.

ANYTHING to do with the other dragons. It’s been a year and we’ve only dealt with one. Theyre the most interesting part of this game’s current lore in my opinion and I feel that the game is losing a lot of potential by ignoring them simply because its more profitable to make quick-cash 2-week content (no offense intended, it’s just how I’m beginning to see it)

More Interesting villains! Any would do but I feel that if you guys do a better job with the dragons than you did with Zhaitan (as in give them a personality as opposed to just a giant beast) you would draw more people in.

Kill Trahearne. Make his tragic death an excuse to fight a new threat (such as the next dragon.) This would make uncountable players extremely happy, get rid of the pressure on the dev team to deal with his character, AND open the way to new enemies! It’s Perfect I tell you!

I REALLY Love Gw2. Ive played since the headstart. I have 9 80’s and im just finishing my first Legendary. I will continue playing for a long time, probably even if things dont change much (and that’s depressing.) This all said, I’d like to share my biggest concern: That the corporate people who are ultimately in charge of development decisions and making the money are going to do away with anything permanent and world changing (like going after the dragons and going to new areas) and that we will be forever stuck with short two-week content to make quick cash for the game. I’m REALLY scared that nothing can be done about it and that the devs who really want to make a difference in the game are bound by the higher-ups who are only interested in making the money. I’m begging you. I love this game and I dont want it to happen, (if it’s at all avoidable.) And for the record: I’ve spent more money than I can count on this game’s gemstore (Hundreds.) Which may mean I’m part of the problem = /. Either way there needs to be a balance.
