There are REALLY good rangers out there. The issue as other have pointed out on a scale of 1-10 a GREAT ranger being a 9… would mean that player is good and if he spent the same time with any other class… he could be a 10. The ranger simply lacks compared to other classes… and now with shortbow nerfed its not even a great ranger. Warrior is better longbow user and thief is more damaging and group support then a shortbow ranger.
Its amazing that Ranger was already considered the bottom of the list for WvW classes and then its gets nerf every patch.
1. We look for guilds to transfer to our server, yes. Looking at the recruitment forum, so do many other servers. We also assist in transfer fees, just like many other servers. This is a non-issue.

1. You bought and bribed guilds and have been doing it for a long time. Completely paying for guilds to transfer over + get enough money to get guild upgrades started. You can spin it how you want… people on the forums and in the server communities all know this.
2. The bragging and claiming dominance because of “skill” has been raging from BG for months and until they got double teams never seemed to stop. Of course this is not everyone in BG just its vocal members that BG paid to join the server.
3. BG tanked… and admitted to it in order to convince more guilds to join. The leadership did this before last season as well so… again spin as you want to… we know better.
No infighting? Maybe not with the hardcrew group in BG… but your MASSIVE fairweather community that you bought… its crying on every forum, everyday.
id be okay with upping the loot tables.
Its absolutly crazy for any Anet dev to think its balanced and in line with PVE out here in WvW.
10 hours of WvW probably net you 5 -10 gold if your lucky
10 hours in PvE probably net you 25-50 gold thats not even dedicated Dungeon or fractal runs which get you even more.
Unless the hero weapons at the end of the season are sellable (not likely) there is not comparison
I have a guildy that joined the game only about 6 months ago. in the first month got 2 precursors, 2nd month got another.
left for a couple months and came back… got another precursor 2 days into his return.
I have had 1 drop since beta… my wife had 1 drop since beta (the cheap torch worth 60g too ) and I know people that have never had one drop since beta.
I know they have said the chances are not different for accounts… but i beg to differ. Those that get one early… tend to keep getting them… those that dont… will be lucky to get even one

Account bound:
because the ORIGINAL ideas from the devs was to make a lot of things account bound, not character bound. Lots of things changed once a 3rd party group that worked on their market system got in the mix and forced them to change the orignal plans. They are just going back to what they said they first wanted.
Mix of PvE and PvP
This is mostly tied to the account bound stuff. When moving skins to account bound they still had specific skins that PvP players only got and vice versa. As for getting things in WvW… yeah never has been that way. They view WvW as a side activity for PvE players so its lumped into the PVE catagory. They still have seperate game modes for PvP and PvE when you realize this.

A challenge to ESO and other upcoming MMOs. It is slowly becoming what majority of MMO players want and saves them having to call it “merging servers”

We had a queue, facing both other servers (they werent 2v1 just normal fighting) with their 50 man+groups and the most we had on a commander as 35 and a guild group of 20 running around… the other 40 people? yeah we dont know where they were either lol. most seemed to be afking in citadel or garri not scouting.
Love how SoS PvDs and blobs harder then the other t2 servers, but you dont say the same about t1
IE. t1 blobs harder then SoS can and PvDs all the time
Frankly.. its all a numbers game. SoS has even numbers during NA for the most part but Euro (i think thats right, just before NA time) has always been weak so we lose everything to golem and 60 man blobs that the t1 can keep nearly 24/7

Sweeping changes is a little overblown but stands as a possible way to view these changes.
However you have to understand the NGE had something that this doesnt which is what killed SWG. It changed the CORE of the game.. deleted some entire classes you could play, changed essential parts of the combat mechanics to compensate.
People bought SWG as a sandbox Star Wars game. the NGE turned it into a theme park SWG game.
If I was a new player looking for a t2 server that is active in WvW and looking for a guild to join. Id go DB.
Im on SoS and love my server… but it does have queues and a lot of dedicated WvW guilds that do not tag up for the militia all the time. We do this on purpose though as we dont want to force a guild that wants to play as a guild to run large blobs. Yes we have blobs and milita commanders but usually it is organized guild groups of sub 10-15 like RX to 20 like CNB and even bigger like what Mag runs ranging up to 40+
DB so far seem to be fun to fight against… they are at a disadvantage because of numbers and more people that WANT to fight in an organized why would be great for them. My vote is DragonBrand
The idea that a sub fee = they fix the bugs immidiatly has been proven false in every sub game.
ESO and WOW = monthly fee so they can use that money to fund a cash shop that you pay more for.
EQ, DAoC, and the other older MMOs with a sub = monthly fee used so they can fund making an expansion that you pay more for.
In all cases.. the sub fee is less value then the gem shop games… GW2 is about the best value you can get for your money. Yes it has issues I want fixed… but the alternatives are just so much worse.

Get yourself the longest range weapon you can use, stay far away from the mass groups so not to many can tag you and rally from you.
Be on siege during defense not in the fray.
I have leveled 8 characters the most map completion I have is 61% and i dont have any crafting maxed. I did all the rest in WvW and never once was told to leave the groups I was running with.
Its only those dumb uplevels that rush in with the main group with a 2 handed sword ranger (just an example) that is the problem
When looking at the cost if things something struck me.
Mistforged Weapon costs 300 tickets.
Hero weapon costs 100 tickets.
Hero weapon can be upgraded with Gift of Heroes at a 200 tickets and 250 badges if you save your tickets between seasons you can upgrade it next time
Mistforged Hero weapon cost = 300 tickets
Upgraded hero to mistforged cost = 300 tickets plus 250 Badges.
Seriously?? Why would ANYONE, if they are having to save up the same tickets.. get the regular Hero weapon? The skin is the same except the mistforge has another layer of effects.
As a item value of Rare vs Exotic… its better to save for buying the Mistforged

Just because you couldnt get any of them to work… does not mean they do NOT work. Dodge does work as people have done it, stability does not this has been proven. Stealth+quickness does work as I have used it myself.
I agree the achievement is stupid to tie to this. Make it a title and thats it. But simply because YOU cannot do it, does not mean its not possible.
Its not DPS. I dont know what it was about the Embers since I was taking a break from the game back then but it seems to not award the loot credit to a certain percentage.
My experiences only.
In groups and out of groups it seems to be a limit on how many people will qualify, as in numbers, to get loot… if you are say within the first 100 to get tagging credit, then you get loot, if you are slow to DPS, or have to wait for the condition special to go down for most of your damage to be inflicted then you may not make the cut.
I have gotten and NOT gotten loot with the same character both in and out of a group. Ranger longbow with 3400 attack. I do not go down and only use the Vigil buff.
Blue I am there from the beginning and always get loot.
Green (or whatever the second one we run to not waypoint) its 50/50. If I get stuck in combat or if there is already a group on it by the time I get there I might not get loot.
Red I always get loot. This is probably because whatever that threshhold is (ie 1% total damage, .05% whatever) I can get because it is buffed so I have longer to build up my sustained damage.
On my guardian, even with a full zerker group other them me (my guard is group support) they would get loot… I would not 90% of the time.
Here is the kicker though… if i went in with my guardian on an overflow that was not zerging them down at 100 people vs each Knight, even with as little as 25 people on the fight I would get loot, once even with the knight being 90% of the way down and I only hit it with a few auto attacks as I was rezzing people.
there seems to be a DPS requirement to qualify for loot IF there are over so many people at the event.

Run up. about 600 range I used longbow number 3 (stealth) dodged once to be near her, then Quicking Zephyr for haste and stomped.

There isn’t really a score tied to edge of the mists, like, it doesn’t give bonusses in pve, or anything. There’s really no reason to not allow you to guest to other colors.
Except for the tendancy for people to karma train and PvD for days on end to get loot and xp.
Allow everyone to guest and you will have 1 big zerg running around taking empty keeps. then logging out and coming into a new map to do it again.

Yeah no wps please. One of the best things ive heard about ESO’s rvr is the size of the map so you can get in some small scale inbetween the large castle fights
I jumped into a siege devourer with my perplexity runes on.
Condi damage is just under 1300. Getting confusion hits of around 457 per skill use.
I didnt use a confusion build before the damage nerf so I do not know if that is the pre patch numbers or not. My normal is around 300.
Yeah they had testers. But they seem to have invited WvW guilds in to test for the most part not the PvErs.
Its the PvE achievement hunters doing this. Not a single WvW focused crew would do more then to weaken it so when the invading army is on it. One hit and down it goes… so thats probably what got tested.
I dont blame the WvW testers for this… I blame Anet for not seeing what anyone with half a brain could tell them was obvious… if you tie an achievement to doing something that is bad to your team… people will do it and screw the team.
Today I ran across this portal thing that says “Lions Arch” or something. Went in… wow so many elitist jerks flaming each other and spamming map chat… yet, even with more hostility then I have seen with warring armies facing each other, still could not attack anyone.

You are off on multiple paths here my friend.
1. Push players to do things that they would otherwise not do? Like dungeons for skins and money, PvE for legendary and Ascended stuff… fractals, and months worth of PvE farming?? We got 2 things… since release that pushed people to WvW… PvE players have had months and months of having the WvW players get pushed to PvE.
2. Recap I agree is weak sauce. But this is from the same people that brought Scarlet.
3. EoTM was never to promote GvG dont know where people are coming up with this. It was to alleviate stacked server queues.
spent three hours in EoTM tonight mostly with the guild.
One thing I noticed… OMG people were glassy. A good push from an organized 10-15 players against 40+ would cause 10 downs immidiatly and the rest running back to the spawn as we picked them off 2 at a time.
If you run berseker… avoid the organized groups they will down you FAST. stick to ganking people running to the groups.
I saw so many guardian commanders that melted from single pushes. That should never happen to a WvW guardian. so this is obviously a PvE player that doesnt know the meta

All servers complained Except the top three, and even then most got very very bored of that too.
We had the league, everyone upset for a variety of reasons
Now we go back to a random(?) matchup system where most keep facing the same servers.

1. Agree on the size they are a tad to small.
2. Mini’s give buffs? hmmm no. At best.. they could pick up loot for you AT BEST. If they implement minis with buffs that would be a horrible idea.
3. This is an easy fix you dont have to carry 20 of them around. If you like one just put it in a hidden bag with all your weapons sets, and food and stuff. They are safe there and will not go into storage automatically.
I am actually happy to see this. It IS an increase but not enough to mean Exotics are out the window, just enough to make a min/maxer want them to have BiS.
The grind is there for those that want to be special… and its not going to affect us (mainly dedicated WvW players who hate crafting) to the point of us all jumping ship just for this.

Its simple.
Guilds should yes assist those solo guys out there with rezzes and running off the gankers of the world. I know every guild group I have run with does this if we can. There are times when we are needed somewhere immidiatly though.
If you are a pugger and get mad at all the guild groups untagged… get on Teamspeak and get others on Teamspeak. THIS is the reason they dont want you around… people do not listen = death = those 10 people they just downed with their well cooridinated bomb just got back up.
Want to be welcomed and helped by those guild groups… get in TS. That is why most decided to tag down cause they get sick and tired of people that refuse to listen and thus cause them to wipe.
I play both pug and guild group runs… if I want to be productive.. i am ON Teamspeak with those guys… and many of the other guilds welcome me into their teamspeak cause they know I listen and follow instructions.

FYI, Zergs do already move slower than small mans. They create quite a large tail. A 5-main group should be able to methodically pick people off of the tail or cut-off far reinforcements. Even solo you can do this. The larger the group, the more often they have to stop to let everyone catch up, so your idea is already implemented in a sort of way. The key is, your organized smaller groups need to pick the right points for ambush so you can kill a few and not get rolled by the backlash.

Say that small group does successfully catch the tail and the zerg takes the 20 seconds to turn around. Guess what? Your small group is most likely still in combat and the zerg is running at full speed.
You yourself say it causes zergs to split.
Sounds like it worked as I imagined. Small organized groups vs one zerg. even if they group up together for big fights, it gives SOME incentive to split and be organized.
And its not like everyone waits on the zerg when running for a defense.. its an all out rush to get inside unless you already outnumber the enemy.
I do not know if it is possible but the best thing I can see is tieing the in combat movement to the zerg, but make it skill and discipline based.
Within a certain radius (commander buff radius size maybe) any allies that get in combat force you into combat as well.
This means those five man really organized havoc groups are going to be faster then the zergs, and the solo people are going to be even faster then that.
The more disciplined and trained the group is.. the better their response time. This also has the benifit of potentially breaking up the zergs to they can respond faster.
If you know it depends on play style… how about giving us what play style you are planning?

If he was running dagger/dagger ele hes about as useful for the melee train as a thief
If he is running minion necro, again these are more of a hinderence to the melee train then anything else.
basicly he might have been causing enemies to rally and not willing to change to his guardian.
Of all the hardcore guilds I have seen in WVW those are the only reasons I can see kicking someone who mains those two classes. It could be exactly as he says, if so thats a kittened guild and he will be better somewhere else.
but I bet he just wasnt willing to create a build for the classes he wanted to play and thats why.
Some general tips.
Most guilds using the Server public TS (most servers seem to have it) do not mind if you run with them even when they are tagged down given a couple of things.
1. Never bring upleveled unless they say its okay first.
2. Have a group/zerg build and armor set, roaming with a large organized guild is not what you are doing. You need to stay alive so you do not cause their enemies to rally.
3. Follow that commander BETTER then his own team.
4. Be on their Teamspeak channel.
This is more for others just getting into WvW and wanting to learn more about how the organized guild groups run. If you follow the above, I know most of the guilds that run on SOS would be happy to have you, I can only assume most others would as well.
Welcome to the best part of WvW and sometimes the most frustrating (since its the most fun, and yet Anet tends to treat it as a 3rd cousin) part of the GW2 experience.
It is not hard to do.
Public event. in a radius around the camp (same as taking it over area), one that covers the tower and keep areas.
Now add in the tagging system of enemy players. Do enough damage to tag and you get credit for the event.
Will this lead to more people camping out in towers waiting on an attack? YES… good then we get scouts at the same time! Its not a hard system to implement they already have the foundations down with the defend timer now.
Think about this.
You are in a group of 20 with varying classes, facing another group of 20. Asura at the smallest size are not much bigger then some ranger pets and necro pets. The shape is different but with a quick glance to find a target most players ignore pets to find the players. This gives the asura a chance to not be selected as a target over someone who is obviously a player.
its not going to work most of the time. but 1 in 5 times or so it will work and that means less instant deaths and more tagging overall.
hands down the most annoying class = perma stealth thief

I play 7 characters. I play them as needed for our havoc runs, this means a LOT of my WXP is just storing up on characters that I do not have a goal in mind for other then the basics so I probably have close to 100 points ready to be spent… but as its split on 5 characters right now it is nearly worthless to spend it, as each one does not have enough to make anything specific.
So I save and save in hopes that ONE day before GW2 dies they will finally get wise to this, and make it account bound

If you think they are ALL bad… tag up yourself and teach them how to Command by example.
The only commanders that I dislike are the ones that tag up for small ops with their own guild. Use the getto tag and leave the commander on the map to control the militia.
