Okay, so i know i will be flamed for creating this thread seeing as you get flamed for anything that can even be slightly percieved as negative about the game. But rest assured pro-arena net lobby, i do love this game and will keep loving it for years to come, so with that out of the way, lets get to it.
Is it just me or does anyone else find it a bit awkward that almost every zone in this game is a little perfect square surrounded by mountains? Now it was a while since i played guild wars 1 but i feel like the zone borders there felt a bit more natural, maybe because the game didnt have any jumping. Maybe Anet should think about trying to make the zone borders look more natural going forward instead of always going with the easy solution of mountains?
Comment below what you think about this issue.
So i was just playing in temple of the silent storm ranked match, was super tight, both teams around 300 points. And all of the sudden my game decides to crash and of course at this very moment there was a new patch pending. When i got in to the game again the match was still going but it wouldnt connect me to the match because i had the wrong version of the game or something. Fix please.
You won’t get any response for an issue like that here… you need to create a support ticket. The link is in the top right: Services -> Support -> Submit a request
Whatever you do, DO NOT CONSUME ANY OF YOUR UNWANTED ITEMS. They may ask you to delete those items before giving you your old ones. If you consume them, they may not be able to help you.
I didnt consume them, just put them in the bank. And i did make an ingame ticket, but no response yet.
Does Arenanet respond in this forum?
Hey, so i just logged in after the patch and to my pleasant surprise the guaranteed black lion chest item wasnt utter garbage anymore, so i decided to use my key that i had saved to open one.
I recieved the guaranteed item, a bank access express and a wardrobe unlock, and from the wardrobe unlock i got the shadow assassin outfit. I was really happy and decided to wear it at once. However, shortly after i equiped it i got disconnected from the game and wasnt able to log in again until after like 10 attempts. And when i finally got back in i saw that the outfit and the other items was missing, so i went to the bank and saw that the key i had stored there was back.
So i opened another chest with it, hoping that i would get the same items again but this time i got the guaranteed item, 1 transmutation charge and 1 black lion ticket scrap….
It seems as if people would never be satisfied unless Anet releases a report that X player got banned/suspended on Y date for doing Z. Which of course will never happen.
Or they could just do it like they did in gw1, Dhuum comes and kill banned players for everyone to see.
Thanks A-Net for the hearts in Ember bay

I love that hearts made a comeback, not a huge fan of them being repeatable though.
I think it’s toxic this season because people are sick of one crappy meta and getting stuck playing against at least 2 DH’s 60% of the time. Also, ranked puts stress on people because the game doesn’t matchmake “fairly” to many. I agree with that sentiment. Ranked PvP is in a very poor state, and what makes people more kittened off is the lack of any communication coming down from Anet explaining how they plan on fixing it. In most people’s eyes, they think that Anet thinks PvP is fine, and doesn’t have much care left for it.
This 100%, to be honest i wouldnt be sad if they removed ranked all together. Also these new time exclusive achievements for the new maps (2 in a row even!!!) is really not helping with the pvp community toxicity. And they could at least have made 1 of the maps a stronghold maps, or have Anet given up completely on stronghold as well?
Wow, i too thought it was a once per character thing. Actually didnt find out about it until i read this thread, once again the veterans get screwed over. The 5k karma thing was also a joke, i mean come on, 5k? really?….
Well i for one hope this “nude bug” is here to stay, why not develop it a little bit as well and make the game 18+?

“It might be helpful to list exactly which event / precursor step is causing the trouble, so it could be more easily looked at.”
Redenaz hit the nail on the head…teach us ignorant people what events were talking about so we don’t get this backlash.
I have no idea…..please enlighten us.
In the final collection of Astralaria you need to get an item called “Ancient Charting Device” which can only be obtained from taking the temple of dwayna. So when people keep defending the temple its impossible to get this item because you can only get it in the assault event, not the defend event.
Hey, so i think most of us can agree that the reward you get from completing a jumping puzzle after you have completed it the first time (achievement) sucks. But of course its a bad idea to only increase the reward without fixing some of the current issues of jumping puzzles.
So let me suggest that first of all mesmer portals in JPs are blocked, it shouldnt be any problem since Anet managed to block gliding, do the same but for portals. Also there is the issue of people having alts logged out at the end of JPs, so you could do a similar thing here, if you log out within the no gliding/no portal zone you get automatically put at the start of the JP when you log back in again.
As for the reward i’m not completely sure, but we could discuss that in this thread, how much should the reward be increased to make JPs worthwhile? Could be diffrent reward depending on how long the JP is or could be something standardized like 1 guaranteed rare for every JP/daily.
Thanks for reading and feel free to make your own suggestions, lets make JP’s great again!
More slayer achievements are definately needed, Anet should fix this.
Yes, this game definately needs less tomes of knowledge.
TD is actually my favorite zone, once you learn how to navigate in it its actually really awesome, just takes some time getting used to.
ANet isn’t causing that. You want gems to cost less gold? Get more people buying gold with them. That’s where the higher supply comes from.
Personally I almost never spend my gems on gold. Right now 97 gems would get me 22 gold or so … or I can just keep the gems I spent cash on and use them for gem shop items I want later.
Anet is causing it, indirectly yes. What you stated is the reason for why the price is going up, i know that is the reason. But you cant say Arenanet isnt indirectly causing it by adding new items to the gemstore all the freaking time, adding more sources for gold with the dailies. Never adding any other in game sources for gems except for the lame amount of 400 gems every 5k achievement points.
So yes Arenanet is indirectly causing the gem prices to go up, if its their intention is speculation, but its not a distant theory.
If they didn’t add new things then why would you need to change gold to gems?
Exactly, less people would change gold to gems, which means the gem price would drop to a reasonable price.
I’m not telling arenanet to stop production of new items, new skins etc, but it would be nice if these new items werent always added to the gemstore, we need new skins attainable outisde of the gemstore.
Now i know you are a diehard Anet fan, i have seen you around here on the forum. But know this, i played guild wars 1, bought items in their store there, i preordered gw2 and bought the ultimate edition for the expansion. But critique for a game is healthy, its not always bad, not always black or white.
I’m hardly a die hard ANet fan. If you had actually read my posts you would know that. Just “seeing me around here on the forum” has obviously told you nothing about what I think.
However I know this game has no subscriptions and that games without subscriptions rely heavily on micro transactions. If you can think of a way for ANet to not lose money while putting otherwise sellable items in the game then make a thread about it. I’m sure they want to hear from you.
Well, it seems like the original Guild Wars game did fine with expansions and a few microtransactions.
But you misunderstand me aswell, i’m not saying Arenanet should stop putting items in the gemstore, i’m just saying they should tone it down a bit, and maybe put 20% of all the “to be gemstore items” in the game attainable in another way, like being able to earn one glider would be nice, even though i love my glider which i got from my ultimate edition.
This is not for me specifically, i play the game a lot, and i spent a lot of cash on gems aswell, but i’m hardly not the only one who think this way, and i have had real life friends quit over this. I just dont want this game to turn into a pixel shop, because i love the game, i’m afraid for it.

140 gold for 400 gems now, wow Arenanet, just wow…
I dont know why so many people are talking about completely removing tomes from reward tracks, thats not what my suggestion said.
If you read the topic, my suggestion was to remove tomes from current tracks and give tomes their OWN track. This would actually allow people who are lvling to level even faster, so all you who are talking about this change causing more uplevels are simply wrong, this would cause LESS uplevels.
So if it is in your interest to reduce uplevels in wvw you should endorse this change.
Already voted NO long ago… I’m from Desolation server.
Server linking kinda ruins the culture of the server and everything becomes a globalized mess just like it did when they linked all servers outside of wvw. You start not recognizing the people of your server, no one knows anyone.
Hi, i was unsure of what forum to put this thread into, this or pvp since it affects both but i’ll put it here because i have mostly been playing WvW lately.
Well, like others i’m starting to get really tired of Tomes of Knowledge, seeing as i have about 3k spirit shards already and 2 stacks of tomes in my bank + every class in lvl 80 (some even twice).
There is something i have been thinking about since Arenanet first introduced the reward tracks (cus even then i didnt really need the tomes). Why not remove the tomes from all the reward track and give them their own track? So that people who want tomes can easily get what they want and those who dont want tomes dont have to get them all the time. (its bad enough that we now also get a tome every rank up)
So the tome reward track could look something like this (number of tomes):
1, 1, 1, 1, 2, 1 ,1 ,1 ,1, 3 and with the final reward 10.
Thanks for reading.
The achievement reward system definately needs a revamp. Black lion keys is not a bad idea, or more gems considering how much they have been increasing in price lately.
This problem could easily be fixed if Arenanet gave, lets say 100 gems, to every player who owns the game.
I really hope the desert borderlands wont be completely removed, i for one love them. What happend to the desert borderlands being on rotation with the alpine maps like it was planned from the beginning?
And i know i’m not the only one who love the new borderlands, but of course you dont hear much from us who love it because we are actually ingame playing it, contrary to the people who hate it and spends all their days complaining on the forum about it.
Also as a final note, occasionally i travel into EB and meet these desert borderlands haters, and turns out many of them didnt even spend more than 10 minutes in the new borderlands, they just decided they hate them, if its because they are conservative and cant be bothered to learn a new map or if its because they fell to their death and their kitten got fractured i dont know.
But please dont completely remove the desert borderlands, a rotation is fine though.
1. Which map is your favorite to EXPLORE?
Auric Basin
2. Which map has your favorite MAP META mechanic
Tangled Depths
3. Which map has your favorite REWARDS (unique zone rewards)
Auric Basin
4. Which map has the best STORY (both personal story and event story)
Auric Basin
5. Which map has the best VISUALS (map design, best view)
Auric Basin
6. Which map has your favorite MAP CURRENCY acquisition method
Auric Basin
7. Which map has the best ENEMY DESIGN (mechanics AND visuals)
Tangled Depths
8. Overall which zone is your FAVORITE
Auric Basin
A lot of Auric Basin here, but what can i say? Its my favorite map in most aspects and also overall and this list is about picking your favorite not your top 3.
Its a really kittened system, the majority of people solo queue and yet they removed solo queue and introduced this failed hybrid system that cater to premades, probably to promote team queuing for Arenanets pursuit of their wet “making gw2 into a popular esport” dream.
Another game that i play, Heroes of the Storm had a similar system but they changed it (because its a bad system which the majority of players strongly dislike, and some devs actually listen to what their community wants) to where pugs and 2-man premades go into one queue and 5 man teams go into another queue. It may not be a perfect system but atleast it caters to the majority of players (people who queue solo or with one friend).
Just as a final display of how failed this system is i will attach a screenshot from when i was playing today, it shows my team which consist of one 2-man premade and 3 pugs, versus a full 5 man premade. I dont see how that match up is in any way fair, we did manage to win this one without any problem but if you face a 5 man premade (with the set up we had) who is even semi-good and semi-organized then there is no chance 90% of the time.
As a final note to any Arenanet dev who might be reading this: If you want GW2 to grow as an esport you need to cater to the majority of the players, the actual people who will be viewing the matches not the ones who will be playing them. Because there will always be top players competing to be the best, no matter how long the 5-man queues are, the people who compete to be the very best are the “hardcore crowd” and those are the people who care least about spending a lot of time in this game. Thanks for reading.
This was my favorite map in this game, i was hoping they would release more deathmatch maps but instead they remove it entirely, good job Anet…
Why the hell the mistward armor is soulbound?
in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns

Yes, honestly this doesnt make any sense at all, absolutely zero, and hopefully its not intended and will be fixed soon. If its actually intended whoever thought of this should not work in game design.
[Potential Spoilers]Where's the Epilogue?
in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns
Posted by: Radiobiology.6185
Like the previous person wrote i guess they will follow up on it in living story season 3 so that kinda makes it more okay, but i would be lying if i said i wasnt disappointed by the abrupt ending. Even in Guild Wars the original game and all its expansions there was an epilogue, so i’m not sure why they all of the sudden decided not to include it…
Okay, so i liked the reward changes, something really needed to happen there, also adding more fractal levels beyond 50 is only a positive thing even if i maybe never make it to level 100, its good that it is there for the people who wants this kind of challenge.
However i dont completely agree with the “more accessible” part, i already think the low level fractals are very much accessible. Like come on, i’m a very casual player and i play in the level 30s at the moment slowly climbing more and more. And i remember when i was playing fractals 1-10 you can even complete it with low level people in your group or not full groups. All you need is to have a basic knowledge of game mechanics, dont need to be a hardcore player at all or even semi-hardcore or whatever.
The other change that i dont like, and that might actually completely ruin fractals is the change of having only 1 “island” per fractal run. A huge part of what makes fractals fun is actually the random element. And yeah, the idea of people choosing what fractals to play will make a lot of fractals completely disappear and people will just farm the easy ones. I personally think that if you cant spend 30-60 minutes in a play session maybe the mmo genre is not for you, but i also believe that most people who do play mmos actually can spend this time, the ones who cant must be in the minority.
If this is really such a big issue, but i dont think it is, i really think Arenanet is overestimating the number of people who have this as a problem. But if they want to cut the time, maximum they could reduce it to 3 fractals, so 2 regular fractals and 1 boss fractal in a run. So the people without much time will be appeased and at the same time fractals retain the random element and isnt completely ruined / drastically changed.
Another solution could be to simply have the choice of diffrent game modes when you enter fractals. Like a popup where people can vote like for the diffrent paths in dungeons, “short run”, “medium run”, and “long run”. Where short is only one fractal, medium is 2+boss and long is the standard. And the longer runs get bigger reward of course, but the shorter ones are there to give the minority of people who really just dont have enough time the chance to experience fractals.
Thanks for reading.
Another idea could be to limit the amount of sentry turrets that can be placed per player/team per map. Lets say each player could place maybe 3 turrets each with a team limit of 15 active turrets per map.
25 honor badges is way too cheap for an item like this, its not uncommon for the whole map to be filled by sentry turrets in every corner nowadays. At this price this item is way too op, it should cost maybe 100 honor badges per sentry turret so they will be placed at key points not in every corner of the map.
Yes….
The problem is there are many serious posts amounting to pretty much this with different focus of a-retention.
Are you suggesting this thread isnt serious? Let me assure you that this is a very serious thread about a very serious issue. This totally ruined my immersion when i saw it, this needs to be fixed, now.
Hi, so i was playing edge of the mists today and i noticed something critical and immersion breaking that should be fixed right away. I am so disappointed to find something like this in the game, because really it totally destroyed my immersion. At one point i felt like i was in the game, like i was my character, but then i saw this and was reminded this is just a game…….
As you can clearly see, in this first picture there is a green glass window on the airships door in edge of the mists, but on the other picture i look behind the door and the space is empty…. Please Arenenet, this has to be your top priority for next patch, its 100% immersion breaking and needs to be fixed immediately. The green glass should be showed on the back of the door aswell. I hope for a reply soon.
Wow, what a surprise, the pro-arenanet lobby is here like always…
Anything that is not a jumping puzzle
Please stop making this kittenty excuse of content, there is nothing fun about jumping puzzles, they are all smeared in lube, a jumping puzzle in gw2 contains more lube than a kitten porno movie. Please use the resources to create actual enjoyable content, like new pvp maps, new pvp gamemodes, new wvw maps, new dungeons, new anything. You are catering to like 1% of the gw2 players by making jumping puzzles, and that 1% are arenanet employees who get off to watching people slide of these kittenty puzzles.
Edit: Oh wow, cant even say simple normal words on the forum without them being replaced by “kitty” gg arenanet, you never fail to surprise me how fail you are.
1 month ban from spvp per time you leave a game seems fair, have bad internet? Too bad, improve it untill next month or dont play spvp at all.
Lag still going on for me……
Edit: Been like half an hour now, cant log in 90% of the time and the other 10% i manage to be in the game for like 2 minutes with massive lag before disconnect again…
So… your solution to MF is to nerf the percentage and make it apply to chests?
MF not applying to chests was obviously intended. Heck, people are already going totally bonkers over farming champion chests. If MF affected them in any way, it’d just make the brainless drones even more effective, which is exactly what we don’t want.
Also, you do not need to “better” reward older player in comparison to newer ones. That makes no kittening sense. If anything, the newer players should be the ones getting the better rewards, because they have nothing. The older players, on the other hand, have months, maybe even years of gameplay behind them, which already puts them on a higher ground in terms of in-game wealth.
Why is it strange that older players should get better rewards? It works the same way in real life, in a job for example, older and more experienced workers get a higher salary. Giving a higher or even equal salary to someone new doesnt make any sense at all.
How about we start with the fact that a lot of people play these games to get away from such things in their real lives? Whatever you think of that is irrelevant, so let’s not go there.
The thing is, the game has been out for 2 years now. One of the biggest problems with MMOs is their longevity. An MMO that has been out for long has an economy that is centered around the older players. These older players have all the advantages on their side: they already have their gear and they know all the things. Quite often, this creates a situation where many new players quit MMOs due to the amount of effort it would take to achieve some of their goals.
In real life, the older employees get the better pay for reasons that simply do not apply to MMOs. A more experienced player is already getting rewarded because they know the most efficient ways to achieve their goals. A more experienced player gets rewarded with faster, more lucrative farming in dungeons and elsewhere. And in case you think that everyone having access to the same resources means that everyone is already on a level playing field, you’re wrong: There are things which are not obvious unless you have considerable experience. And no, you can’t just grab a metabuild from a forum somewhere, as that won’t give you the required set of skills and knowledge to properly utilize it. In fact, a new player grabbing a metabuild is more likely to end up dying and quitting the game out of frustration as those builds always require immense amounts of practice and knowledge to execute properly.
I’ve been with the game for over 2 years now. I do not feel that I deserve better rewards than someone who would start today. In fact, if I ended up getting better rewards because of how long I have been playing the game, I would feel quite bad.
Okay, so lets not get too offtopic here, this thread is about magic find. To take myself as an example, i started playing guild wars 2 on release, pre ordered it. But now i have been absent for about a year because i have been studying abroad. So even i am behind the curve in terms of progression etc.
But something i noticed on my return is actually the huge inflation in guild wars 2 economy, the gold i had from before barrely mean anything anymore, i have farmed new gold of course, but i know how and what to farm.
But in terms of new players, something they will notice when they reach level 80 is that everything is very expensive, and as you mention new players are not experienced in making money, so this will feel like a big wall for them and they will feel very behind. What will applying magic find to everything do?
Create deflation, items will become cheaper because there are more items circulating in the economy. This way it will be much easier for new players to aquire the items they need etc, because the items will be cheaper. So i really fail to see your point here, i’m not suggesting the gold find effect should apply to everything. This change is beneficial for new players.
Wow, i didnt even know this collection existed and i have probably opened every one of those champion bags, bugged i guess….
So… your solution to MF is to nerf the percentage and make it apply to chests?

Problem: The way magic find works right now can be very frustrating for people who played a lot and stacked up a lot of magic find on their accounts, just to feel it doesnt make much diffrence.
Solution: Remove everything that boosts magic find, banners, boosters etc and replace magic find boosters for example with enchanted reward boosts etc etc. And then make the magic find you have apply to EVERYTHING, chests etc.
Why?: To better reward long playing players and reduce frustration from boss farming etc and at the same time not letting you stack ludicrous amounts of magic find with diffrent boosters
Feel free to discuss the suggestion and come with suggestions on your own on how to improve the way magic find works, and like always, keep a civil tone.
Still not fixed, come ooooon arena net….
Edit: I also have the same problem with the achievement “Svanir’s Bane”.
(edited by Radiobiology.6185)
I second this, we really need more game modes in pvp…
Make it give instant level 20 or 5 levels if above 20 or something like that, as it is now, its 100% useless and very disappointing…
I don’t think it’s supposed to change nor do I think it does and I think what I got was a fluke. Before rank 100 1 rare, from 100-120 5 rares, 120-170 no rares. Kind of weird but I guess that’s RNG for you.
So basically the numbers should be the same for every rank up? Is there any offical confirmation of this?
Hi, i’m wondering if the wvw rank reward always stays the same or if it changes the higher rank you get, like a higher chance to get rare / exotic at higher ranks for example, i did look in the wiki but its unclear. Thanks for answers.
