Please do not revert the borderlands to alpine. Desert borderlands have a lot of promise that’s totally absent from alpine. Nostalgia will not save wvw no matter how people wish it would.
They did tell us they were going to unlock them like this before the patch hit. A while before, as I remember. So for my <80 characters I refunded all my traits to avoid misspent hero points. I figured other people who cared enough would too, so I’m surprised it’s come up as such an issue here.

Thanks for your reply anyway. I’m really, really happy that I figured it out: it wasn’t the outfit or the coat, it was the trousers, which I hadn’t even considered. “Stalker pants” medium armor breaks the tail this way. Now I know.
My main character’s charr tail is slowly separating from her body. At first there was just a cut-out gap near the base, and now I can see it’s actually getting longer, like it’s sliding out and away. I’ve included a picture. It’s not subtle.
It started when I was using the new Crystal Nomad outfit over the Carapace armor, so I wonder if it has something to do with the bits that get put on the charr tail with the Crystal Nomad outfit, but again, I have no idea. If I put on an outfit it looks slightly repaired but showing the armor reveals it’s still borked. The other female charrs on this account are not having this problem. Other players can see it, and it’s the same if I log in with different computers. I’ve tried a -repair too but that did nothing.
Has anyone else encountered this? What can I do? I so want her tail to be normal again.
My feedback to the team is that this will leave me with weird and apparently random amounts of gems when buying gold for gems, and that makes it feel like it’s really out of my control so I don’t want to do it. I don’t like feeling out of control with my money.
If the old interface was confusing, please give us an option to use it while keeping the new interface as a default. I don’t mind an extra step to the process but I don’t want my control removed completely.
I’d also like to see the graph return as that gave me a good idea of what the economy was up to and when might be a good time to convert my money.
I had this bug and I think I’ve found a sort of fix. It worked for a couple of my characters, so I hope it works for yours too.
Go to your hero panel finisher window and reset the finisher to the default (basic flag, first one in the list.) Close the hero panel from there (press escape), then open it again to ensure it’s reset to basic. Then choose the sanctified (or whatever you want.) Close hero panel, open it and it should have stuck to what you’ve chosen. Fingers crossed.
I’m unable to change my finisher. Previously this was connected to the mini bug, where your mini etc reset when you changed armor dyes, but now it seems I can’t change my finisher at all. It will always reset as soon as I exit the hero panel.
Yeah, this is frustrating and not at all what I thought the tournament would be. I am very happy being able to buy ascended trinkets with the reward tickets, I will never complain about that!, but otherwise with the repeated match-ups and the nothing achievements I’m not sure what the point of this tournament really was. I’m sorry to sound negative about it, because I liked the hype around it, but I’m feeling discouraged.
I just encountered some related oddness. A friend and I were on the armored guard bit before the patch, with the tanks, and today it skipped right to Victory or Death, and we never got to cleanse Orr with Trahearne. I guess because the part of the story we were on was moved to after the Cleansing of Orr, and mechanically it had to happen, but does this mean we can never play those story steps? It’d be a shame. I’ve seen it before, but my friend hasn’t.
Edit: Thinking on this further, likely it’s impossible to be shifted around in your personal story and fair enough, so just as feedback I’d love a way to replay it similar to how we can replay living story instances.
This choice always felt false to me. I know it was meant to show how we affect our personal story, but it was bluntly the Pale Tree saying “What horrible thing do you want to happen to you now?” All the answers were too specific for me to be making a real choice, and you could see the tragedy coming a mile away. I understand why you guys are sad about losing the story, especially if you connected with those characters, but I understand why it’s gone, too.
If this is still going I’d love an invite to the EU guild. A friend and I are trying to get Mawdrey II. We’ve been playing a long time but have never been into fractals.
I’m happy to gather materials and do open world events and craft to make this backpiece, but I was really disappointed about the fractal relics, because I find the time sink and repetitiveness of fractals to be extremely frustrating and I don’t see how it’s in any way related to this LS event or item. I absolutely support the idea of using badges of honor for this, or some other alternative. I really like the model for Mawdrey and the idea of Mawdrey II so I hope someone here is hearing us.
I found your post while searching how to leave the solo queue before the match starts. The same thing happened to me: I realized I couldn’t play the match and ended up having to log off for a while because every character had the “Go now?” question on their screen. This is a pain in the butt for me, and really not fair on other players.
Leaving a fight you know you’ll lose? That’s called “smart,” right? I mean if you’re doing some official duel it’s not good sportsmanship, but if you encounter a random person and start fighting, then it goes badly, run away. Run awayyy. Especially if you had some other objective in mind before the fight.
Of course, if I’m fighting someone and they start to run I’m often disappointed because I know they can’t win when they’re fleeing. Sometimes I’ll have used all my cooldowns and be out of endurance so I’m getting desperate, and they’ll just… give up. I almost want to yell after them, “But you were so close!”
The trend you describe seems to happen with all big updates. I suspect it’s because the first reactions are from the gut and sort of generally interested and excited. Then people start to really evaluate specific scenarios, so they have specific concerns. There’s usually no new information so quickly after the original release, and worried people feed each other’s paranoia that it’s somehow a worse case scenario.
And then of course it always takes a few hours for really hardcore trolls to see how they can stir things up.
We know our gem store purchases are tracked (you can see them in the gem store window) so they’ll be able to tell who bought which armor. We just need confirmation if they’re going to translate that into the wardrobe regardless of where each skin piece is now.
Make sure previously purchased gem store skins are unlocked even if they were later overwritten, and I’ll be in heaven. So far the new system sounds awesome and I can’t wait to see it implemented.
They helped the people who bought multiple soulbound harvesting tools. I suspect they know about this and there will be some sort of recompense. Granted the situation is not the same but I doubt they will not address this later when it goes live.
Yup—I love the new change but started to worry about gem store skins I’d bought and no longer have, then I remember how good they’ve been about sorting this stuff out. So I’m not going to worry until I hear all is vain!
In my case I didn’t dislike the skins but ran out of storage room, so I’m also really interested in whether I’ll have all the gem store stuff I’ve bought unlocked, or if I’ll have to buy it again.
If clipping worries you, you should probably put the armor on before activating the makeover kit so you can see what you’re doing.
Looks like that’s the full makeover kit. I’m thinking it’s just a feature of the hairstyle kit only that removes the helm. If I buy another I’ll check it.

I still really like the hair but I’d also like the option to leave my helm on in preview so I can see a problem coming. I filed a bug report in game about the clipping, anyway.

This worries me a lot as I want a hair kit to make my asura ranger’s hair the new dreadlocks + the eyepatch, and I sense a deep and terrible clipping with that bandana..
It’d look awesome with the bandana hair. If you can, test it with a full makeover kit first and see if it lets you preview the helm too?
What I said is that it’d be interesting to use the fact that KasJory are lesbian and make people oppose their romance; ever heard of stories of forbidden love? “Othello”, “Romeo and Juliet”, like that. This way their story would become more realistic and less idealised.
People who encounter opposition to gay romance all the time in real life might not find it all that enchanting and romantic to encounter it in a fantasy world too.

I remember the police in London weren’t that friendly directly following the riots here a few years ago, so they’re probably on edge and not sure what horrible thing is going to happen that they have to deal with next.

I requested my gems back for flamekissed and received them back very quickly, I think it was within the hour. I didn’t request money back for the gems. The armor itself was never taken from my inventory (I covered over it with a different skin in my own time.)
edited because I thought you were asking for before/after pictures of flamekissed, not zodiac. I have zodiac on a character and I really can’t see a difference. The only differences I’ve heard about on the forums are the nipples disappearing, though one person was really sure there was a bust size difference (I do not believe that.)
I’m usually happy to don my “all is lore!” hat but in this case I think it really was just gameplay-driven. It was Mai Trin in the forge because she was associated with Scarlet like the others, and we must have killed the real Scarlet because players would mutiny otherwise. It’s still interesting to read your speculation, though.
I reset the /Libary/Application Support/Guildwars2 folder like the above poster with the hope I’d have time to see the cemetery in LA. I still crashed within a minute, but this time I got a C00…00094 error. Progress! I also noticed with iStat menus that my CPU usage completely topped out during the crash.
I know I just need to be patient, but there’s so much I want to see in the new LA. My patience is childish at the minute.
I liked the bar scene. It was a good epilogue. You can see how the heroes have bonded, and they managed to bring me into their group too. Nothing groundbreaking but it fit the calm after the storm really well.
Ahh, so happy to see a dev post here with that message. It seemed to get worse and worse so now I’m crashing every two minutes. Looking forward to the fix!
They’ve changed the landscape, the way you can (and can’t) walk around the place and get the vistas, destroyed a lot of buildings and bridges and added the remains of the Breachmaker. A few new caves and things that used to be solid. There are quite a few NPCs that talk about what happened and how they’re coping. There are a couple of places with boards for notices saying who died and who’s missing, including one that thanks you specifically for killing Scarlet.
Yeah, I did the bar story bit and thought, Well that was cool, I like these characters and we went through something together. But then I went back to LA, and… wow. I’m really impressed by the detail in how much has changed, and it feels like something enormous just happened. I know there are a lot of valid criticisms of this living story season one, but I’m really impressed by how it all ended up.
The picture in my mind of the trinity is a night elf in purple bear form, swatting at something ten times its size, while a bunch of rogues throw stuff at it from across the room. As the healer, I hover my mouse over various nameplates and type 1, 2, or whatever is needed until the big thing falls down and we move on. Despite how ridiculous that picture is I had a lot of fun doing it at the time. But I don’t really miss it.
I’ve played two of those games and done a bit of research into the third, and no, I don’t think you should be worried OP. It’s not even about whether the other games are bad, it’s just that GW2 is unique and what it offers is different from what those games are trying to do (apart from the making money part, I mean all games want that.)
