So, the collections themselves are gone, BUT I GOT THE CHEST FOR FINISHING THE ARAH COLLECTION!!!! It was just there when I logged in.
This might mean when the collections come back it will be completed?
Yes, please, I really miss the old Kessex Hills. That update trashed it more than a year ago and we’re still staring at the wreckage.
I have this same problem with a couple Arah skins… every attempt to pursue a support ticket directed me to keep checking the forums for updates.
As far as I can tell, the only “fix” for this that has ever happened was back when they ironed out the issues with the Black Lion collections showing incorrect completion. I can only hope that they’ll do a similar resync of wardrobe and collections when Heart of Thorns comes out, at the least.

Not that I think anyone was expecting it, but as far as I can tell the patch did not affect this bug at all it still remains in full force.
Same here with Arah. Many of us have been reporting this for months now, but there hasn’t been any response.
The changes to collections in the patch did not fix this bug. Two months+ since first reported now. =/
It’s been two months since I reported it. And yeah, in the same boat, if the bug gets fixed I finish the achievement.

A lot of people have this problem. Other threads with same issue:
Anet has never replied on forum and says they’re working on it when you submit a ticket.
So far the closest I can get to an explanation is that this affects skins that you unlock in custom arenas in pvp, but it’s a very small sample size so who knows.
Just curious, were you in a custom arena when you opened the skin the first time?

I opened the Arah Axe skin after my guilds pvp event and it behaved just like the mace you are describing here. We’ve sent in support tickets and bug reports.
They didn’t, but a lot of times these sorts of things get stealth fixed or unintentionally fixed so I figured I would try and see.
Doesn’t seem like this was fixed in the patch for me. Anyone have any better results?
Here’s the response I got. I submitted a bug report when it first happened, and obviously this thread has existed since then too. Weird since the only other time I put in a support ticket they were really fast and addressed it right away.

Welp. I’ve unlocked every other skin in the collection. This is now the last skin I need for the Dungeoneer title. In a few days I guess I will see what happens if I buy it again.
So the next one I opened in the heart of the mists. This unlocked it for the wardrobe and collection. So far it looks like its limited to custom arenas.
I earned another weapon box, this time I put it in my bank and opened it in pve, the skin (dagger) counted for both the wardrobe and the collection.
I received an Arah weapons chest from pvp. I took an axe out of it. I did not have the skin unlocked before. I was still in the arena when I opened the box.
I got the pop up for the skin being unlocked, but not the collection tracking pop up.
The skin is in my wardrobe, but shows as unacquired in the arah dungeon skin collection achievement. When I mouse over the item in my inventory it it says “skin unlocked” and the option to add to the wardrobe is grayed out.
I tried equipping it but that did not change anything.
Finally, the era of mesmer dominance will come to an end.
You’d prefer them in your ranked matches?
It’s as solution to a problem that shouldn’t exist because the daily class win is a horrible idea, so I’m all about them doing this.

Yes, more deathmatch.
Also it would be nice if you could queue for deathmatch, queue for conquest, or both.
Also if we could have multiple specs saved so we could have one for each and switch easily instead of scrambling to get it all done in 1m.
These complaints have been falling on deaf ears since the patch that broke pvp. Their MMR system is balancing out the team like 1 guy with a high mmr + 4 guys with really low mmr will balance out 5 guys with average mmr. It just doesn’t work. But they don’t seem to be able to recognize this as a problem. It’s a shame, solo queue was fun before they removed it.
On like my 10th loss in a row. I never lost anywhere near this many in a row before the patch. But when I consistently get teamed with four permadowns or guys that afk in the base after they die once against guys that have a clue what they’re doing that’s what happens.
The different time zones would lead to mostly pvd.
What a nightmare that would be.
On the opposite end, I keep getting grouped with 4man or 3man guild groups that obviously have never played before. I watched all four go home a few matches ago. They run in and insta down in every fight. And then they give up after that. It’s happened many times.
I don’t really care about going up against the best players and losing, but it is beyond frustrating to go against really bad players that the typical all solo queue team from before the changes would have cruised to victory over and watching it slowly grow into a loss because my team doesn’t understand basics of the game mode.

I’d like if the aura/special effects were a toggle you could use on your guy at any time once you have the legendary unlocked.

Teams cannot be forced into existence by making the solo experience miserable.
Game 1 – I get 4 randoms, opposed to 5 man team (which includes 3 engineers). My team literally gets spawncamped. Voluntarily. They walk out of spawn into the enemy AoE and die instantly. I get around the edges, easily, and win a few 1v1s but their teammates come to help them and I can’t get a decap or a spike. It’s effectively a 1v5 because my team is permanently dead and seems to think that’s the goal of the game. Lost 500-5.
Game 2 – I get 4 randoms. 3 of us are guardians. 2 are AFK at start of game. Other team has at least 3 teaming together. The same 2 resume afking after running out and dying once. Another one starts telling everyone how bad they are while constantly dead at far. Again, I can easily win the 1v1s but they rotate and end it before I can get a stomp or decap, and I’ve only got one guy helping me (two afk, one too busy telling us how good he is and how bad we are to play the game) against 5 of them. It was a effectively a 2v5. Lost 504-27.
Game 3 – I have 2 together, 2 randoms. They seem to have 2 together also (although the action was really frantic so I didn’t have time to see if they were the same guild or just same acronym). Really, really, close match. It ends up timing out with us winning something like 477-454. I won a few 2v1s which made up for my team constantly going 3v1 on their tank. But I also had one noticeably skilled teammate who kept rotating at the right times. They had a guy who kept trying to use their treb and couldn’t really defend it, which easily could have cost them the 20 some pts they lost by. Overall a few good players and few average ones on each side. A good matchup!
As a result of this, I lose a point in my rankings, because apparently losing 2 matches you have no chance of winning counts more than winning a match that is competitive.

But once somebody missed a queue because they were in a loading screen, so that makes it okay.
Yes. It is determined by starting values to prevent exploits.
But allow for screwing over people whose teammates disconnect? Also that doesn’t prevent exploits at all, it invites them.
We do not intend to ruin the experience for people that queue solo.
Queue very fast but match quality was really bad.
I will agree that the lack of a mote to reset the fight is disturbing. But the achievement itself was rather easy to do, #8 and #5 skills make that fight exremely easy.
The achievement by itself wasn’t terrible, it was that it was at the every end of the instance without a reset node that really sucked.

Wow. Latin is one of my go-to languages for changing common words/names into ones that won’t be taken.
I wonder if it was one person, or if there are a lot of Ceiba fans out there.

I really liked the stealth stuff, fwiw.
I just recently powered through all of the living story season 2 achieves.
This was the worst one, by far.
Having to run through cutscenes, dialogue, porting through various different places, and a long fight just to retry it is the worst setup for an achievement.
Giving us “dodge” skills that just spastically fling you around when you’re supposed to watch where you step is a terrible idea.
Making a map that pings as a warning, but the ping is nowhere near where the wave starts is a bad idea.
None of this was well thought out.
Please, if the options are this or no achievement, just don’t put the achievement in next time.

I didn’t notice anything with the respawns but I definitely appreciate the matches being shorter. I didn’t see a single one get to 500 after the change, made each kill count a lot more.
