It does not, and it would not make sense with swiss-tournament.
7 rounds in swiss tournament are enough to separate over 50 participants, it would be total nonsense for 6-9

By the way I don’t see how matching T1 servers to virtually any server winning against its natural opponents like let’s say Ring of Fire (T8) could lead to more competitive matchups.

The announcement state they are keeping the gold/silver/bronze league so you’d have to split this into three distinct tournaments.

It’s disappointing to see this bug knowing that it already happened last year with Leeching Venoms.
Let’s hope they will be more careful with life siphoning abilities next time.

As you are playing against Augury Rock I’d recommend you to check out [EscG], they seem to have an interesting setup for 6VsX.

There are a few factors that easily explain the current situation :
- the need for some to cool off after the league
- the holidays
- the tiredness of WvW and more globally gw2 that was only put on hold by the league.

Yeah its dreadfully boring. The score is pretty much a decided – Vizunah has already won – yet they have 20+ people defending their keeps with arrowcarts and catas and trebs, the works against same size forces.

2 hours, a border swap and the only thing we found that even attempted to fight was CoN.

We saw you with OP and Necrosis during our slack period aka dinner time.
When guilds began to raid you had already left, we couldn’t get a proper fight with Necrosis (bad luck I think) and OP was running with followers so they was clearly oversized for our 15 man group, even as we gained a few players through the evening.

Seems a bit messy for a gvg right now.

Don’t really see the point in this, your matchup’s thread seems animated enough and you have SFR’s one if you still have some popcorn left.

There is no Canadien guild/community on FR servers that I know of.
Like the Quebeker Alliance these guilds have absolutly no desire to come in EU ladder and fr servers.

However with the league a lot of servers have actively tried to get NA guilds.
SFR, Piken, Gunnar, FSP, etc.

I guess you are on FSP (which received some NA reinforcement btw) facing Fort Ranik : well they got NA guilds too (at least Side Effect).
Unfortunately for you theirs are bigger.

Small tips : if you see any Run jumping from a cliff, don’t follow them.
Specially if it’s an ugly Norn.

Between the servers that tanked, the ones that got NA reinforcement and (some of) the pve population coming to WvW, there should be some surprises in this league.

Well, this could have been worse. DiVa had a fun reset in Vizu borderlands. And more proof how important coverage is. During primetime, Vizu wasn’t any stronger than us.

I hope that Vizu will stay out in the open for fights once they have their upgrades in during the night/morning.

At first we we thought we wouldn’t see much from Gandara on this map but it was nice to see Diva, Ctnk later and others groups.
Saw a good number of roamers too, with a frustrating/kitenning thief duo.

Hope you’ll still have fun this week, as usual we will have more guilds running in prime after the week end.

That wouldn’t be fair neither : some servers gained strong reinforcement since the announcement and others lost much too.

The funny thing is we don’t have a clue of what will be the incentives except a unique finisher. Is it really worth tanking and getting 7 weeks of karmatrain/boredom ?

Ah someone told me it was such, and I had seen several French Canadian guild names when we last met up …. I had heard they were all on one EU server, do you know which one?

If you still have those French Canadian guilds names in mind, please send the list to Troma. We have been looking for them for a year now without success.

But more seriously no there is no Canadian guild in the EU ladder that I know of.
The only one known for doing the trip was Armata a long time ago (October 2012) and they stayed only 2 weeks on Arborstone before getting back to the US ladder.

As Troma said we don’t have more than a few guys spread in various guilds they used to play with before gw2.

And I guess Baruch could say almost the same thing about their South American legion.

we NEVER moved entire guilds to do things like this rofl, or coordinate on same TS, because it was almost total hate between arbor/vizu.

This is the exact same reply you gave at the time, and just like before, sorry, I simply do not believe you.
Or rather, I don’t have any problems believing there was bad blood between the main WvW alliances in Viz and Arbo, but that doesn’t mean those movements were not happening. It was pretty clear at the time, facing both servers, that there was some pretty weird “week population cycle” going on whereas Viz would be totally unbeatable one week and much weaker (though still able to fight well) on the following one, while Arbo was undergoing the opposite change. Couple that with movements on specific maps in specific times where you saw Arbo zergs carefully avoiding attacking Deso points where Vizunah was fighting only to start bombarding the point with 3 trebs the VERY INSTANT Vizunah disengaged, and the resulting picture is quite obvious.

And it’s not like it was difficult to “hide the fact” at the time, eh? All you needed was half of your guild members transferring to the other server for free, adopting a different guild tag, and voila’… double the numbers, double the spawn points, while still using the same TS. Most of the allies on either the source or destination servers would not even realize this as they would simply see a bunch of people with a different guild tag.

I will admit though I find a bit difficult to believe that those movements, on the scale we were observing, were possible without you realizing about them. I mean ok, it was easy to hide them and all, but surely the alliance leaders would have realized the general WvW attendance levels were showing such odd periodic variances…

And this is why you don’t do drugs.

It’s still the week end, we were up to 10k ahead last week on Monday and we all know the results.

Nobody is saying it’s Sfr doings. Well as you said it would be ridiculous to assume anything like this.

There are facts, which are servers being attacked. Main, backups, guilds ones.
But we don’t know who is behind this (and won’t unless he/they are really careless) and we can only suppose why.

Trool aside, I guess that when we say we don’t have that much coverage, there’s some truth.
Because yep every server with a good coverage has a chance to beat us.
Arborstone (extra motivation), Deso@Ruin, Blacktide, Elona on holydays, SFR@Prx, SFR@Piken have shown it.

Arborstone and Elona didn’t sustained it, Blacktide coverage was out of reach.
But we won against SFR, Deso@Ruin.
And we are fighting for the win this week, which isn’t bad considering the actual coverage SFR has.
Because bôjeu or not, you guys actually have guilds running full raid on more than two primetime’s duration, guilds doing night or morning operation, and guilds having 5-10 players all day long.

Coverage is still on a small scale in EU. It only take one or two guilds to change the balance. So I don’t see how we could compete.

Mixing one Na server with a EU one seems like a better idea : you keep the old rivalry and hopefully get to balance the offpeak forces.

We have exactly the same screen with your defences, shouldn’t be hard to find.

I don’t blame Vizu for capping kitten at this time interval, we all would do it too. But the hate against Vizu comes because they have only 1 good guild: WL. It is frustrating to lose from bad players just because you got a job, studies, family or simply have to sleep. During the day fights don’t even last 2s, one burst and all the enemies are dead. For a server with only one good guild, our primetime is surprisingly good.

Starting almost from zero after early Russian prime and dinner capping*, this is our income after 45 and 90 minutes of prime.

*it may be a shock to some of but servers can have different primetime !
For instance on French servers, guilds are usually playing from 21h to 23 or 0h GMT+1 preceded by a weak spot starting from 19h GMT+1.

Really ? I thought they didn’t play for points any more and wanted to stay far from T1’s blob.

Just to get the numbers right, we were ticking at 565 when the maintenance started, and we got from -11k to -7k at the end of it. Which makes 8 or 9 ticks (about 2 hours).

Obviously it doesn’t change the fact this was absurd and needs to be changed.
