Mastery system blocks progress.
Totally not playing Gw2 because of said blocked progress.
Oh Anet you want me to collect X more mastery points to level up whatever just to get through the story? Nope. lol. Story isn’t that good and there’s youtube to see what happens. You’re not making me play through the trash this time.
Edit: And done watching spoiler video. Yay. This why you bad anet, I’d rather watch someone else play the story instead playing catch up masteries to see it myself.
(edited by Nethod.7068)
Sorry, but it’s borderline ridiculous trying to play PvP against people with elite specializations when I don’t have them myself.
Why is this even a thing?
It comes down to money. IMO Anet did a really good job of putting everyone on a level playing field when it came to pvp: we are all at max level, normalized stats, access to the same gear (amulets, runes, sigils). These were really well thought out in terms of getting new players into the game mode, versus having a barrier to entry of grinding levels/gear on top of the skill level disparity when you first start playing pvp (i.e. need to learn what other classes builds can do, recognize the animations, what to dodge, where to be and when, etc etc).
Along comes HoT and across the board every single HoT spec is stronger than the vanilla version. This is type of power creep that comes with a price tag attached is the definition of pay to win. Now, the reason you are paired against HoT specs is because the pvp population in this game could comfortably sit around your mom’s dinner table and not bump elbows with one another. A more interesting questions is: if the game had a larger pvp population would Anet still pair you up against HoT players? imo, I believe they would. You getting repeatedly dumped on by players that have purchased HoT just might make you made enough to drop some cash to ‘level the playing field’ and I believe that’s what Anet would bank on. Look at some of the responses you’ve already got in this thread…
For good or bad, I’d add the removal of the match-up sub forum from here. Once that was removed, it seemed interest waned…..
A lot of his statement is based on bias here, just so you’re aware.
The irony is strong with this one.
A decent amount of those guilds fell apart because of egos and people going to play other games for awhile. A lot of the players came back already and have reformed under different names or just joined up with other guilds.
Guilds used to fall apart and reform as something else, sometimes comically after losing a big GvG match, now the game simply lacks guilds full stop, GvG is dead and there are times where now in primetime you have fewer guilds between 3 servers (or even 6 servers with links) than you used to have in a primetime on one server, where many of what guilds are left raid with less than 20 people because that is all they can manage, because they struggle to recruit now.
And no a lot of players have not come back, most of the players the OP mentions no longer play the game, and even the ones that do mostly either barely play WvW or don’t play it at all.
As you have apparently missed it, world linking is just temporary server merges by another name, if a lot of players had come back then you wouldn’t need server merging and linked servers would be unplayable most of the day due to queues, but guess what…

2500 is pretty high and unexpected number. Last week it was barely 1k.
it gets viewerbotted. what do you expect?
No I’ve discovered that its the reason why we necros get less loot.
.Smh…..
Why don’t you give ranger/mesmer/thief…… kitten it, give anything besides guardian a try, and then come back and say necros get less loot.Because life is too short for me to try fix all of the classes in Guild Wars 2.
How about you go try to convince devs that they need fixing too while I try to do it for necro ?
Because the ability to run around in a blob and tag enemies isn’t how I define a professions effectiveness.
E-what?
This game is not about skills, it is not about being skilled.
Just about taking the Class and Build that can make you OP, or easy win above average.
The team Balance is full of troll not knowing their Job. (this is a statement based on fact!!!). Your Balance is kitten. We saw how you balance a game last past month/years.
Bug Fix feel like a Free to play game, 1 every 3 months even less
You don’t even feel like you bought this game. They don’t care.
E-Sport? the guy with his competitiv dream (saying: if you like WvW you like PvE) can forget about it. Spend more money in E-Sport instead of doing something productive.
You want to make a Pro race, you don’t even have a car. This what is GW2 E-sport. NOTHING

A-net needs more slaps to the face not less.
No one is enjoying these….no one.
Condition damage has been nerfed in quite a few notable ways since the game was released (700 boundary thing, halved +condi duration food). I don’t think it’s a problem at all really given how most condi builds are probably a mixture of dire and rabid, and it’s so easy to burst through someone’s armour stat now given how much direct damage we can pump out. You can do some massive stacks of confusion on people with Chrono/Mes (my record is 36 stacks on one person with perplex runes/mistrust and the stars aligning for maximum group interrupts) but if someone face tanks one of my condi shatters, they would probably face tank a power shatter and be dead sooner.
700 boundary thing nerfs hybrid players, not condition players. Condi duration food was also nerfed for -condi duration. Are you kidding me, “Condition damage has been nerfed” yea ok nerfed so hard that poison and burning were allowed to stack and confusion was allowed to tick passively. Not to mention that vulnerability affects condition damage now, but protection, -damage aspects such as Bulwark Gyro, and weakness don’t.
Easy to burst through Dire? One of the tankiest stat mixes in the game? What are you on??? I would love to see you play Marauder builds if you think Dire is easy to burst through. To see how skewed conditions are vs power, go fight a Dire build as a Soldier build.
Damage done through condition partial shatters FAR outshines damage done through power partial shatters.
I burst through dire/rabid condi builds on my full glkittenter Mes all the time. I also have built with condition removal in mind so I have Inspiration which trivialises a fight against, say, a condi Mes by simply rotating my burst in a sequential manner so that I can ensure removal of a condi burst. It’s significantly easier to overcome the natural sustain achieved from the armour stat now that direct damage has been increased so much. I really have no problems with condi builds unless I have no condi cleanse. I’d say 95% of my deaths are from very high damage short CD direct damage attacks – I so rarely die from conditions even when playing with just a few cleanses simply because I understand how and when conditions are applied.
Also, of all the game modes, WvW probably has the best condition damage balance because its effectiveness scales with the player number and WvW can go from a simple 1v1 up to 30v30. It’s honestly fine and also, my point still stands that conditions have been nerfed to a point where they are completely manageable and it really is so much easier to kill dire builds now.
Inspiration mesmer has no problems with conditions. More news at 11.
Neither does my Daredevil or my Druid. This just in: GW2 has plentiful ways to manage or completely mitigate condition damage dependent on sensible and well considered build decisions (unless you’re a revenant – poor revenants). Add that to your news reel.
loose respect?! lol. hell no. i luv him. he basically said what all veteran players are thinking of this game. REKT. i luved the part of being afk LOL. #esports #progw2pvp #rollmetapress1button=pro.
Hahahaha…let me show you how it was in GLORY days. Problems with lagging so 1 skill used often BUT!!!!!
This was GLORY! Bring WvW to these days!
Sorry OP 1s video you have 25 in squad and at least 15+ pugs running 40 regardless vs the zerg you were fighting is hardly outnumbered or even a measure of skill. Plus you have pugs sitting on a cannon shooting them. This is hardly worth bragging about. I hope you know that.

How long before people realise sluringshh used our oldest trick in the book
Its weird but after rereading it i remebered my old post
I think PPK should be just as important as PPT personally. I don’t play for point ticks as a roamer. Sure I take camps and towers when I can, but my primary focus is defeating my foes in WvW, the fights – not the objectives. Making PPK matter as much as PPT caters to everyone in WvW because then we all have an equal role in our world score.
cant see my grave diggers in the middle of all the dumb guardian sparkles. yeah thats right i pvp with a kittening greatsword.
Ayy NeXeD, haven’t seen you in while on these forums… where you been?
And props for the GS usage
Just haven’t been on a lot tbh and I was playing rev s1 and 2. Still post over on the pvp forums enough to kitten people off though.
Oh yeah GS condi necro ftw. ( honestly just wanted to see if I could actually kill people with a GS condi build)
axe3 should be definitely a blast finisher
Resistance?
what the kitten? Just spamming skills out of cool down.

Garbage roaming players. I love running these losers over. Go to SPVP scrubs.
Joshxt I can tell you barely do large scale fights, keep it up tho bro roaming4lyfe playa.
Sounds like a kid strayed too far from the pack.
What? Im sorry, I cant hear you over the blob busting I partake in.

“blob busting”
Like each of those fights looked even numbers, lmao.
^???
Btw a duel does not mean it’s just a freindly 1v1. Duel to me means 1v1 regaudless of its nature. And I will let them happen. 1 dude said to me “this isn’t a duel” I said, “no its a 1v1… get on with it” he ran away.
Wall of Reflection acts as a “brain check”.
If you see the giant glowy wall, stop shooting at it.
I think, most of you care too much about ppt. And for what? One lousy chest more than the other will receive at the end of the week. C’mon, are you serious? As you have already written, you get better fights and action during primetime than other who are playing in the off-hours. That’s, in my eyes as a longtime wvw’er, more worth, more funny, more challenging than the boring pvd during the off hours or when dominating a timezone.
Can’t tell if satire. Need more sleep.
Apparently the necro is the most powerful of all.
My answer: 4. Observe the fight. If you ally loses you let him/her die and engage the enemy after.
This may sound a bit stupid and it has actually gotten me and many of my allies killed, but: My personal code of honor prevents me from +1:ing a fight.
Then again if I see ally who clearly doesnt want to fight just running away and not trying to fight I would step in signalling “I am your opponent!” to the enemy.
Also if I am fighting 1v1 and an ally steps in I most likely step out of the fight and let my ally handle the battle. If +1 enemy steps in I either try to defeat them 1v2 or run away fast as possible depending on my mood.
To clarify, it would take at least 4-5 bleeds to make up for the loss of the chill damage. Meaning unless you can apply 4-5 chills every 8-16s (depending on bleed duration), you are losing out on damage. Burning has 2.5x better condition damage scaling, and 6x higher base damage, so for a given condition damage you need roughly 3-4 bleeds to match burn damage.
Dear Bawb, I’d like to present Rune of the reaper and shouts. This is turning out to be a buff
I have trouble with loading the patch notes, theres only a joke version where only well of power is a “maybe” while axe, focus, base etc and everything is clunky garbage.
Actually, you missed the best part of the patch for me:
Deathly Swarm: The missile velocity of this skill has been increased by 100%. The casting time of the projectile has increased by 0.2 seconds.
Hey guys, we increased the projectile speed of that insanely slow, non-projectile finisher projectile, but to compensate with that really necessary QoL we increased cast time.
“when its ready”
ahh yeah, give it year or two and we weill release some info how its going
Since we not getting the legendary weapons which was part of HoT content. How about Anet compensate us by giving us ingame items like gems or an additional character slot?
We got legendary weapons; we’re getting one more.
Now, I admit that I expected more, but upon re-reading the original blog post (and follow-ups in various places), I realize that was me imposing my hopes on their comments — they never promised a full set of 16, only the new process allowing to create our own precursor and some new ones.
I also agree that, at best, ANet mismanaged our expectations — they could have made it clear that only a few legendaries would be offered with launch and that it might take awhile to see more.
Still, in terms of legendaries, they delivered what they said they would.
I’m sorry what? Here you go, all sixteen:
The first three we’ll release are a celestially themed axe called Astralaria, an experimental energy themed pistol called H.O.P.E., and a raven spirit themed staff called Nevermore. It takes a lot of work to craft these legendary journeys for release, so rather than take the time to develop the full set before releasing any of them, we will be releasing new legendary weapons in small groups at regular intervals until the full set of sixteen has been added to the game. Collections for the existing legendary weapons will be available on launch day, while the first three new legendaries will become available shortly after launch, alongside raids.
https://www.guildwars2.com/en/news/hot-new-legendary-weapons/
Don’t spread FUD.
Legendary weapons where never part of HoT content, they where released after HoT launched. You where required to own HoT to get them..same with raids, we where told they would be coming after HoT launches.
So if anyone is talking rubbish it would be you. Yes Legendary weapons getting canned is bad, but we knew when we got HoT, that they would not ship with it. People need to remember this.
Never part of HoT content? How come they were accounced the same time as HoT at the same event? And how come they are based on/in the new HoT maps? How come the website clearly says:
Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns heralds the beginning of the first new set of legendary weapons to be added to the game since its original set of twenty included in the launch of Guild Wars 2.
They are part of HoT even if you seem to fail at reading.
We where told they would not be included with the initial launch of HoT, we would need HoT to be able to craft them. The wording there is very specific. HoT heralds the start of new legendary weapons. Not, new legendary weapons will be included with HoT. If anyone has failed to read and understand it would seem to be you.
Lol cherry pick some more mate, white knighting at its finest.
