I personally would rather just straight up buy the skin, cash/gems whatever you wanna call it, rather than spend the cash on gems to spend on keys to spend on chests to MAYBE get a ticket to buy the skin. Such a convoluted process. Ain’t nobody got time fo that!

I just miss having a chaos axe on my gw1 mes, and I was excited for like a second to have a chaos weapon again, but then I saw “bl ticket” and then I saw the skin itself and I’m a little disappointed its not pure light like in gw1, but it’s still a pretty neato skin.

A chaos axe USED to be a status symbol aquired from the underworld, now it’s just a symbol of how much time you spent grinding a new character up for a BL key. Or how much money you spent on BL keys.

Is there going to be ANY future skins/loot that you acquire the good old fashioned way, rather than jumping through hoops? Doesn’t seem like it, and I’m getting pretty bored with this silly formulaic approach to new skins. Grinding for BL tickets via BL ticket scraps via BL keys makes running Underworld for a chaos axe seem like a treat.

You most certainly did not “eliminate the grind”… not if you want to keep up with items as they’re being released.

One thing I absolutely hate about the new area is the limited duration on the crystal skills. It makes exploring, which I enjoy, an annoyance. I hate that I can’t spare a few seconds to take in my surroundings after making an assisted jump. I’ve been spending an inordinate amount of time backtracking to crystals to start over on some climb or other.

Ugh, yeah… it’s not enough that you have to use those skills, they have to go and do that as well? They didn’t have such a short timer before, right? I don’t remember any timer before.

I’m having problems just getting around the map, bumping into collision hulls where there’s no terrain or objects, falling through edges of terrain because the collision hull is set in too far, the jump skills run out after a few seconds, stuff like that.

I’m not even sure what story there is here right now. It’s certainly not engaging whatever is going on. The sky people fell, I’ve gathered that much.

I didn’t even attempt super adventure box or holiday puzzles since they were glitchy and needlessly difficult, especially for some casual holiday event.

Well, Guild Wars 2 has always had jumping elements from the get-go and has added a lot of jumping things during living story updates so I think it’s safe to say that jumping IS a thing in Guild Wars 2.

Yeah and I’ve been saying that Guild Wars is not Mario from the get go too. I’m sorry, I thought I was playing an first rate mmorpg, not a third rate 3d platformer, but it’s looking more and more like the latter.

The quality of the jumping in this game is pretty much good for getting over lumps in terrain and that should be all it’s used for.

Yeah seriously? Two steps into the new area and it’s jumping already. I hate those glitchy jump skills, and I hate how the button to make them go away is not on the other end of the skillbar. I’m getting REALLY sick of jumping. Yes, you’ve added a jump button since Guild Wars 1, now stop abusing it.

Jumping puzzles were an optional annoyance, but this is getting to be waaay too much. Find a new gimmick please.

I am really not liking achievements where I have to rely on other players, because they never do as good a job as I do myself on my own(which is why I hated Tequatl cheevos and TA new path cheevos, but LOVE, absolutely LOVED Queen’s Gauntlet Liadri achievements and Super Adventure Funbox achievements)

I wouldn’t care about how terribad other players are at playing this game, if it did not affect. But see, when their lack of ’’skill’’ for a game as easy as this one starts to affect my Übermensch pro-skillz and 1337 awesomeness, it bothers me.

No more of this in the future Arena. Stahp it.

The part about this that I agree with is when the steam runs out on the event and anyone who hasn’t completed it within the first rush is left out in the cold.

I’m not sure how much the reduction in cost of black lion tickets lasts for, but I picked up exactly that great sword skin like a week ago with one black lion ticket (with a discount of 2 tickets.)

Which was nice, because I found one and I was excited to go get something rare, but it turns out everything cost 3 or more tickets. I guess you could key farm if you wanna get BL tickets for those skins.

exit the collapsing tower doesn’t mean “exit the instance”, it means jump into the mesmer portal that makes no sense based on how the skill works, and THEN you get rewards.

This is EXACTLY the type of confusion I don’t like from these story things. I shouldn’t have to constantly be second guessing every action except combat.

Apparently you’re supposed to get it when you finish that last instance in the tower, I however…. did not receive anything. I’m going back in to try again, and we’ll see what happens then

If you find it dull kill a champ out of order is more like it. =)

That’s another possibility, I didn’t think of that… and legacy and heritage are sort of similar words, so there’s confusion in that as well.

Is it fair to people that played Guild Wars 1, and to people that have purchased the game since… that you are offering Heritage armor in some kind of package deal?

This is just as bad as what happened with human t3 cultural armor.

Yeah, so I bought some gems with gold, bought one kit, and when I double clicked on it, I got a lemon dye.

I really hope there’s something you can do about this because I kind of want either my 9G25S back , my 125 gems, or a toxic dye.

Obviously because the dye kit disappears, I don’t have a screen of both the kit and the dye at once, but here’s the dye that came out, and I also have a screen with the dye kit being my most recent purchase, which was currently like 5 minutes ago as of right now.

Yeah it sucks but guess what? The gameplay is still great. shrug

So my armor skin is bla bla bla whatever Q_Q, it’s still the best MMO.

Tman.6349 brought this up on a thread on the Black Lion Trading Co Forums and I’d completely forgotten about it but once upon a time people were able to transmute Cultural gear onto whites and wear them on other races. Anet threw a hissy fit and rolled things back.

A rollback may not be completely out of the picture here. Maybe…. hopefully.. But then again gems are involved this time….

I don’t actually mind them recycling (lesser) skins this way, by adding particle effects and so on, but for one of the sets to be a Cultural armor, and T3 at that, is ludicrous. From the looks of things someone over there has royally screwed up with their armor selections.

if you saved your gold until you finally hit the 120g mark and now you get it for half the price with an extra effect, you’ll feel screwed over.

This argument I can sympathize with. No one likes to waste gold. But really if you worked hard to save that gold for the T3 set, it will still be apparent to people that you did that, because no one will confuse this gem store set with the original T3 set.

For me, it’s not about price though, it’s about making a set available. I would pay double the gold equivalent of T3 cultural armor to put it on another race. Norn heavy T3 on my human warrior? 1600 gems, not a second thought. I’m just surprised there are more out there that think this way.

The point is, Arah armor is something you earn by completing difficult content in the game, so yes, there is some degree of prestige tied to it. It is completely inappropriate to compare cultural armor to dungeon armor in terms of prestige, all you need for cultural armor is gold, which could be bought by converting from gems if one were so inclined, so it’s no less prestigious than this gem store set is.

I would say that earning 238 gold is more prestigious in game than tossing a couple real world dollars at a store that mails your character their purchases instantly. I mean I get your point… but earning money can be hard in game esp if you only play a few hours here and there… of course, having a job and that I have real world money to spend in game, but this time it just doesn’t seem quite fair.

They still have the Chinese release yet, don’t they? That’ll be bonkers for a while.
