As title says,, i do tournament play and mesmers do 7 confusion on me,, i cant even block without killing myself.. what is this for crap
Who made this confusion..
Please remove the dmg on skill change for engineers.. its just impossible to play this way.. and u guys wonder why Spvp isnt popular lol
Well I did spend a little bit of planning when I made my confusion extend and made glamour skills cause confusion and blindness and all that. I couldn’t even tell you offhand what i’m running, but nearly everything causes confusion.
Makes me think of the old VOR builds you’d trap people with.
just one thing they did not think about when patching this – the food will be 100% useless like so many other patched things.
Well you still get an exp bonus from kills plus an effect so it’s not totally useless. ;P
It’s one thing to nerf the item, it’s another to render them totally useless. 10s duration / 60s cooldown completely invalidate using them in any way, shape, or form, particularly with the way stealth was changed in PvE with this patch.
10 seconds of invisibility is a pretty long time.
This nerf was sorely needed. Come on, a consumable that can keep you permanently invisible even during other actions or channels with no cooldown and that also instantly removed you from aggro tables? You want this in game? Really?
OMG is that what it does?! Jesus H Crackers.
Perma swiftness item plox.
Yes, I am that mad about the cooldown on spykits, I will QQ hard on this. Why change this?! I used them for soooo many things. If you wanted a cooldown on them you should have implemented it from the beginning, there was no need to change them. Am I the only one that thinks this is ridiculous?! Also, I did not see this in the patch notes, maybe I missed it? If not, why do you do these stealth changes Anet, its just so rude. Please tell me there are others raging about this, I feel they are almost useless now. A one minute cooldown isnt even worth using it for the things you could use it for, I mean it’s for PvE…cmon smdh..

What’s a spy kit?
When I was in my own guild with 5 other people, we got maybe like 30 influence from normal activity in a day, and I certainly don’t have 60 gold to be spending on influence.
It’s not my problem now, but it would be if I didn’t change to a larger guild. It is kind of a lot of influence.
as an aside can we maybe get skill 2 on staves not to teleport me into lamp posts rocks and other small objects? =)
The description of this update was pretty unclear, so let me clarify. The change to portal made it so that you can’t interact with a portal that is on the other side of a wall from you, but that a portal whose entrance and exit are on opposite sides of a wall will still function.
I figured it was that. Thanks.
I can see Thieves being in that category, but outside of PvP Mesmers and Elementalists aren’t nearly as powerful as people like to think.
Both WvW and sPvP these three rule supreme…
I would have liked to see more buffs to weaker/caster professions
Yeah, me too. Instead they buffed the overpowered trio; Mesmers, Thieves and Elementalists! Ahahaha….
“LFM [Insert PvE Content Here] – Warriors Preferred”
Not anymore. The changes to Omnomberry Pies/Ghosts will be a huge nerf to Warriors in PvE, without any form of compensation to our PvP capabilities. Pies/ghosts will be as worthless as Sigil of Blood. Hooray.
But I guess the three most overpowered PvP professions needed it more. Fair is fair.
Mesmer. Top of the class, of ALL classes.

I would like to know what anet means by this.
Removed the ability to use many karma related items in WvW
Probably junk like the experimental teleporter, first aid packs, charzookas, stuff like that.
Guild Wars 2 sure is a job, but only for some 300 people working hard on this game in
Seattle. For everyone else, it’s a hobby. Give the team some cred for their hard work, and take the game a bit less serious.
At first I was like: =|
but then I was like: =)
Its all about keyboard set up. Default key binds are just bad and im not sure why mmos keep using this set up. Using the keyboard to turn your character is just bad compared to using the mouse. I have a few friends that cant complete certain jumping puzzles because they cant turn fast enough and the same reason they hate wvw. I tell them to change their key binds so A and D are there strafe keys and dont bind any keys for turning and use the right mouse button for turning. So far only 1 friend did and he’s loving it. Just took him a while to get use to it. Also have 1 friend that uses left and right mouse at same time to move forward thats even worse she cant even complete the easy jumping puzzles. So i hope this helps some people.
ain’t nothing wrong with wasd.
ugh I can’t believe people care about this guy, he is so fake and annoying
Yeah, I hate youtube reviewers. Especially angry video game nerd.
Nope, and no subscriptions was the deciding factor when I bought GW1.
So are there people here who are good at this?
This has been a huge pain in the kitten I got 0 runs in last night and about 5 wipes. For the love of god, I just want to get my monthly achievement done.
Check out the short film below and get ready for some quality soundbites, such as “That’s a bunch of idiots”, “[Those are] people making fools out of themselves, rubbing each other. That’s not the Harlem Shake” and “It’s something we take serious. It’s not a dance, it’s a lifestyle”. This is a very different take on the ‘Harlem Shake’ viral phenomenon indeed.

We already know that an issue with Guild Wars 2’s personal story and character personality system (brutal-dignified-charming), is that our characters are forced to be very stereotypical good guys no matter what. Cookie-cutter characters, white knights, goodie-two-shoes, you name it. There’s no real personality.
However, another issue with the character personality system is that our characters are forced to be immature, and very narrow-minded. When we encounter NPC’s who are unconventional or controversial, our only reply options when we talk to them are thoughtlessly immature, or just plain narrow.
For example, in Mount Maelstrom, a group of Asuran scientists are dissecting Risen body parts to look for ways to defeat the Risen. When they tell you about it, you only get two reply options:
1 EW! That’s revolting!
2. I see. I’m going to leave now. (AKA, I feel awkward and don’t know what to say)The “Ew, thats revolting!” reply option is considered “Dignified”. I just don’t get that. How is rudely screaming “Ew, that’s revolting!”, after someone tells you about their difficult and important job, a dignified thing to do? How is it even logical, when your character is supposedly hardened by combat?
I wish our characters weren’t forced to act like narrow minded kids. “Holier-than-thou” reply options like the one described above leave a sour taste in my mouth. I wish Arenanet provided us with more diverse personality and behavior options for our characters. For example, in reply to the Asuran scientists, our character could have these choices:
Barbaric 1: “Ew! That’s revolting, and your krewe is vile!”
Barbaric 2: “I hear you take the parts you dissect by force. HAH! Sounds fun!”
Charming 1: “That must be difficult work for you. I admire your dedication.”
Charming 2: “You work with corpses all day, but you look so clean and well-kept! What’s your secret?”
Dignified 1: “For the good of Tyria, work like yours is nessecary, though unpleasant. Stay strong, friend.”
Dignified 2: “The boldness of your work is commendable. I would be glad to aid you, if you need it.”
MMOs are not about dialog.
“Cookie-cutter characters, white knights, goodie-two-shoes, you name it. There’s no real personality.” – But that’s the story THEY wrote!
I found a room full of Kittens.
This must be the first time I see somebody in this forum really wanting to say “kitten”.
HAHAH I was wondering what was in the room, but it was actual kittens!
There are 2 classes that look like they were kinda sorta intended to be healers… but fail miserably. The Engineer and the Elementalist.
Honestly, they just need to work on those.
Really? Ele is closest to a healing class and they need to work on it?
Cantha was my favorite GW1 region to work on. And I worked on every GW release. I know a lot of the dev team loved it and would love to revisit it. I kinda agree with critickitten about the negative aspect of tight corridors. Most of that came from hitting technological limits while trying to keep the epic quality of the concept art. I think we could do some really amazing things with those themes in our new engine. Certainly nothing is ruled out. I certainly encourage anyone to express your desire for a Cantha region in GW2 in a positive and friendly way. It could be years away, but it’s worth asking for.
Cantha: worth waiting for.
Unless dusk is NOT that greatsword I saw in town that one time.
You could see stars and nebulae in it’s blade.
EDIT: Twillight… I meant twillight. :P
Cantha or bust.
I loved fighting the afflicted, and the celestials.
Umm celestial weapons? Oh wait, that’s dusk now.
Yeah there’s totally grinding, just it’s a bit more fun IMO.
Not like when I played RAN online and had to fight the same mobs in the same area for a week straight to gain a level.
For Science!!
nah, kitten science…this is all about the horrendous mistake I just made so that you can learn from it and hopefully avoid the same mistakes.
I just finished my Sunrise 2 days ago after several months of grinding mats, salvaging ectos, farming karma, etc, etc, etc….and I equipped it on my mesmer. Everything sounds great so far right?
Wrong. See, I really wanted the Sunrise on my Guardian main. I put it on the mesmer thinking the weapon would make me want to play it more. Big mistake. So I set off to fix this and get my beloved Legendary GS over onto my Guard. I could simply transmute it to a white, but with so many bugs with that system I was simply not willing to risk it. So I did something even worse.
I put my Sunrise into the bank, and deleted my full exotic level 80 mesmer.
Yep, I did it, thinking if the character no longer exists surely the weapon couldn’t be soulbound to her anymore. Wrong again. Oh so very wrong indeed.
And now my beloved Sunrise, my oh so many hours of work, is sitting in the bank…unable to be pulled out by any of my characters, unable to be transmuted, unable to be….anything. It just sits there, waiting for its owner that will never come back for it like a lost puppy. What a sad,sad puppy it is.
TLDR: Please just transmute your weapons or armor, and NEVER delete a character.
Learn from my kittenness….I will be for quite a long time to come as I stare at the last slot in my last bank tab.
Well this certainly puts my little rage outbursts in perspective.
I don’t even know how you could come up with the idea that deleting a character would suddenly make all their soulbound items suddenly not-soulbound.
Killing the character would also destroy the soul? thus no more soulbound?
Sound reasoning.
what they should do is give one free server switch every month, or something close to that.
Yeah, I mean 1 transfer is over $20 and close to 36 gold worth of gems.
They’ve already solved the hopping to the best wvw score problem with 1 transfer every 7 days, I don’t see why it needs to be so kitten expensive to change servers.
The unicorn Bow is probably the second most popular legendary in terms of looks, right behind Twilight. They seem to know what the majority of players want in terms of flying unicorns.
I’m surprised Kudzu isn’t more popular, I mean sprouting flowers and that, that’s pretty cool.
Well it must have been because of it being the first day of the patch, because it works fine now. :P

“Community Special Operations”.
I had this mental imagery of someone reporting a post, and you guys smashing in through their apartment window on zip lines and double-tapping them. Please say this is true.
Unfortunately that information is classified and on a “need to know” basis.
;)
I would tell people I worked for Special Ops, ad nauseam, even after they found out it was for a game company.
I would ride that joke so hard if I had any kind of special ops in my job title. XD
Was just reading through some of the posts and surprised at the amount of people attacking one another in a thread. Seems like no ones point is valid any more haha. Sorry for the off-topic discussion just want to see what other people think
Yeah for how polite the ppl in the game usually are, I was surprised by this.
But then I realized the people playing are probably actually playing, leaving the people complaining.
Ewww crafting… Seriously?
What a poor attempt at flushing materials from the playerbase for a lousy laurel.
Mine 20 mithril. Refine ten ingots. Sell for profit. Done. Can we shut up about this now?
Yeah except that didn’t do crap all for me. I’m still sitting at 0% after crafting a pile of things.
The only issue then is that people could then earn twice as many laurels a day.
So I doubt this will occur.
But they will have worked twice as hard for them, so that works out, right? =D
ANET HAS ALREADY STATED THEY DESIGNED GW2 TO BE ABLE TO ADD MORE LEVELS IN FUTURE EXPANSIONS.
Personally, I’d say no, but it seems it is already in the cards.
Aww jeez, really?! Guff. =(
YES.
I mean, we know the level cap will be raised eventually. While I hope we get at least another 6-12 months of our current level cap at least, I could do a lot of fun things with another 5 or 10 trait points. Plus, leveling is incredibly easy.
Don’t be so sure. Gw1 is STILL level 20 and that’s been around for years.
nope. 80 is what it is now and forever.
Gw1 was capped at lvl 20 and that never changed.
how isnt it realistic? thats how pirates fought rrrrrrrr!!
Well it could be a lot to add, it wouldn’t be a simple update for sure.
Naval warfare in wvw would be neat but i think it need a new map because the lake in center look a little too small for that and there could be like a dock you capture or something.
Oh that’s a good idea! There could be an additional map for wvw where there’s a few bases on land to spawn at and then naval warfare throughout.
Hahaha, nice idea, but hardly realistic. We’ll see!
Yeah it would be a lot of work, and I doubt anything like this would ever happen but it’d be pretty rad IMO.
I’d post a video of VCO just so people can see, but i’m not sure offhand if it’s ok or not to post videos of other games. It’s not my intent to advertise the game nor am I suggesting that any type of gameplay be taken directly from it
I’m just sayin’ it’s a good source for visual inspiration, especially since I haven’t seen too many ship sailing mmo’s.
Also, you could either sink the ship entirely, or it would be neato if you could board the other player/npcs ship, at which point things would switch to the usual combat system.
I’m sure someone could do something with this. It seems appropriate, especially for the amount of busted up ships I see laying around. Gives the impression there’s lots of ocean traffic.
Ok, I used to play this game Voyage Century Online…
Anyway, some of it was on foot, but most of it was on these big sailing ships and you had to pay for crew and all the stuff you’d need on a ship like that.
So my idea would be to have some additional maps in the open ocean or what have you… I dunno, set it up like a normal map or like a dungeon, not sure what would work best, and you could have ships manned by a party of 5, one navigating and the other 4 could operate cannons or other weapons on the ship.
It could be just straight up ship to ship combat, or if you wanted to do some kind of event about pirates, or a big monster in the sea (like the thing frozen in drakkar lake in gw1), or some event on a remote island in the middle of an ocean map.
Also there’s the opportunity for a lot more underwater combat/exploration in a map like this. Usually the oceans are just dead areas in games like this, so I figured it might be interesting to liven them up a little.
Lame idea or good idea? You be the judge. =P
You fall asleep on your keyboard and when you wake up youre character is dead.
Yeah I was fighting monsters by a lake.
I dozed off and woke up across the lake, running directly into a wall.
I saved up 35 gold. Just because of this post Im buying an unbreakable bell with all my money
LOL!
Since mods closed the last 3 mount threads, this should be closed as well.
Lack of vision? How so? Because I think mounts aren’t required? Why bother over complicating?
It’s the EXACT SAME method of exploring, just an animal is walking instead of you. I’ve never had a shortage of events, and if I miss one, it just repeats in 5-10 mins anyway. Completing a map doesn’t even take very long.
They don’t need to make the waypoints any more expensive. 4 silver or so to go across the map is just fine, and if there were upkeep for mounts, you’d have to be getting something in return, other than looking cool.
Every time I’ve played a game with mounts, i’ve been excited for them, i’m not gonna lie, but when it gets to the actual mount, it’s always been a cumbersome disappointment.
NO! No mounts! Can we all just stop talking about this?
Dude one day there will be mounts, its to easy to monatize ((they could make more bank)) and there’s just to much call for it.
If implemented correctly (some GW2 kinda way) it will not brake your game and it will not make it less fun. Deal with it.
Guild wars was not made for mounts. They’ve said this explicitly. Deal with it.
Break. You meant to say break.
No they have not, stop falling back on lying because you’re unable to defend your opinion. They have said they will never have flying mounts because it ruins the games sense of scale, and that regular mounts are not currently planned or being considered.
Or necessary. They are totally unnecessary.
People may say its not Guild Wars if it has mounts but that is like saying its not Guild Wars if it has open world. Really all the vibes I get from players is some sort of stubborn ignorance to the idea of mounts that I do not understand considering the large open dynamic world of GW2 and the apparent problems with near empty zones that could otherwise see some traffic from people riding mounts through them and stopping for events..
GW1 is all instances and teleporting is free and there are no dynamic events popping up all over. There is no real use or need for mounts. In GW2 its mostly open world with events popping up all over the place but players ignoring large areas just to map travel to zones so missing out on events they would pass if they were riding a mount. There are so many missed opportunities for people to get involved in events when passing just because of instant travelling and no mounts.
So what? They’re not going to take WPs away, so if people want to instant travel, they’ll do it with or without horses or god knows what else. That is such flawed reasoning.
People using waypoints do so because they have a place to be. If I’m doing map completion, i’m fine with walking and taking gates.
Asura just haven’t learned how to hop on the back of a Charr yet without getting eaten. Once they have the technology battle steeds will be a reality, and everyone will be happy.
Except maybe the Charr players.
That master blaster reference a while back was pretty good.
Mounts in Skyrim don’t just disappear, they take damage, have hit points, inflict damage, and they go faster than walking speed.
Those should all be things a PROPER mount should come with by default. That turtle, while you are technically mounting and riding it, is just another cosmetic object, like one of those potions that makes you look like a mob.
