Why is Diamond like Emerald?

My ruby queues were quite fun, ESL players in most of the games, prominent names, twitch streamers, people who basically knew how to play. Most of my matches were fun and competitive. I hit diamond with ~60% win rate. Then my queues turned into complete garbage, no one knows how to rotate, people lose matchups they should win, the team loses a 3v2, etc. It feels like diamond queues should actually be emerald queues. Seriously Anet what gives? Why is a higher division filled with players of lower skill than the previous division? Something is clearly wrong.

The real answer is in all division entry tier, you got the bad that can’t lose divisions.

The better player will find a way to exit the first two tier fast to never lost too much in there.

If they lost, they are guaranteed a big MMR hit.

It’s probably what happening to you. Your MMR got trash by Entry tier Grinders with bad MMR.

Queuing Outside of HotM

Reversed logic: If you queue for sPVP where ever you are, you can’t switch character, use fast travel, use story part, load map.

Yes, in pve, if you are queued. You died. You can’t respawn. Wanna respawn? Manually leave your queue.

Put some exceptions to what would be correct… like playing hotjoin?

Hotjoin had been the way we had wait for queue the first 2 years of the game. 1v1 server are nice while you wait with your team…

Why Making SPVP P2W?

Yes, Buy the game grant you better things.
Maps, Items, Dungeons, Specializzations and a new Class.

If you don’t buy the game why ANet have to make you able to obtain all the things that the full game grant to his owner?

Specializzations are better than old classes? Of course they are!!!!!
Is it right? YES!!!

Why? 3 reasons:

1) If I buy a game I want to use all the things I can, expecially if that things make me stronger than who don’t have the game. Do you want specializzations? Buy HoT. or the game itself, that is the same thing now.

2) the F2P mode is NOT the game!!!!!!!!!!!
You TRY the game, then CHOSE if you want to BUY it and have all the pack, or not.
it’s only a TRIAL Version of the game, Not the Full game.

3) MARKETING!!!!!!!!! MONEY!!!!!!!
Seriously, do you will ever buy that game only for a new map, plane a little and do a new raid? You will buy for the new class and the specializzations. That’s why they will Ever be Stronger than the main classes.

It’s Buy to Play.
Do you want to Try the game? Try it. Do you want to Play the game? Buy it.

Are you an old player that don’t want to spend money for the expansion like all we did? Your choice. But you’re not able to ask for any kind of QoL improvement why you’re no more playing the Full game but only an Old Version of it.

“General—PvP Only:
Downed state: Players will no longer become invulnerable when downed in PvP.”

I’m happy about this. What do others think?

This change removed the balanced between stomp or cleave.

Now, just cleave.

The game with HoT and Powercreep was already better to cleave than stomp.

But now, it’s clearly better.

Removing choices is not helping to have a more skillful play.

Actually, each patch since HoT is destroying “support” type of builds in giving more incentive to play bruisers/damage builds.

The Rock, Paper, Scissor balanced between bruisers, dps and support is again changed to favor damage and make it harder for support.

That’s kinda sad really, because the skill gap between 2 supports guy is already more important than the skill gap between bruisers.

Whatever… versus “bad players” I still REZ without much remorse. Versus the “decent” one, I don’t care to try “alone” anymore.

1- My post is about a new PVP offering. Not about OP HoT spec. But yes, the MOBA format that 100 millions players love could bring that to our spvp community. To achieve that, you need to offer that. A small download, a F2P fair offering and a great game. We have the last, but not the first two.

This would give MOBA review website a Real PVP game and not a MMORPG offering that tried to do pvp.

2- Top players from the past didn’t help expand the spvp player based. Actually, the spvp community is much more worse than it was in the past.

My Opinion After Today's Pro League

1- Bunker is a viable role and archetype of pvp conquest for 3 years.
2- All bunkers condi clearer spec are dead.
3- CONDIS burst class are in Mayhem.
4- The only viable bunker in the meta is called to be destroyed.

Yeah… fine, that’s a great way to win or show how you can counter some builds and comp.

Bring back bunker guard, shoutbow or even a new bunker ele spec to be able to counter pressure properly to STOMP AND REZ. (wanderer amulet anyone???)

While we don’t have other bunker build viable… well, we feel the pain (err the Tic Tac). We rez, we stomp… we have a hard time to heal ourselve, it’s why we are paired with druids and ele.

And the comp can’t be played by anyone… it’s not working with people who are not able to “even fights” (every scrub think they need to +1 fights, it’s the kittening thief job, stop thinking your are Chuck Norris).

Another thing…

REVENANT are OP and should be NERF right now. This is the class that crushed all the other (except healing heavy build). Stop thinking about mesmers, we can’t kill kitten.

The OPness come from the VIPER amulet and should have the same fate has Wanderer (that was balancing VIPER btw).

Revenant in celestial are not good enough to counter all builds, like VIPER do.

But well… I know enough, you guyz always call to NERF bunkers… and then complain why the meta is AIDS and CANCER (used to call condis easy classes) because they nerf the guy that was keeping your toon alive (or rez).

Rapid Regeneration: The base healing of this trait has been reduced from 150 to 20 when under the influence of superspeed and from 25 to 5 when under the effects of swiftness. Level and healing values continue to scale the same for superspeed. Swiftness’s scaling with levels has been increased by 20%.

Please, healing values should scale better since you nerfed the traits by 90%, healing values should scale at least of the same.

It’s a bunker trait really important to make our job in our niche class role.

Doing this give a clear favor to backpack regeneration and so, would make many scrappers going to play either condi or rifle vanilla engi for better survivability with old school kits build.

The crowd did QQ a lot on scrapper surv, because they are DPS build (paladin or marauder).

Please, let Cleric or Mender have the survivability they deserved without being the OP DPS bruisers machine meta scrapper build is.

+1 I agree the balance team have the ability to control this.

Cleric Amulet was strong on Ele but not particularly strong on Bunker Guard (wasnt enough to get it into the meta) so ANET could have just restricted its use .

Cleric Transfusion Reaper was nice unranked casual builds. Rezzing two people at the same time, was awesome. Cleric is need to do those things!

Banner Warrior was fun to play with Cleric.

Not everyone belongs in legendary – it should be hard to get into.

As for the second question – no.

Hard or Grindy? I want a hard game that I can play 10 to 15 hours a week and still compete.

I suppose it depends on how high you want to go. Want to be top 100? You’re probably going to need to put more effort in.

Actually, I play more hour per week than 75% of our Top 100. (yes, they are not really online actually)

I have 5k more games than half of them.

So I guess, over time, I did practice and learn enough to be on par with some.

The thing is… grinding PIPS or grinding GAMES don’t make SKILL based ranking.

But well, with your new intents revealed about TEAM play, not sure Gw2 was made for me. I guess 10k games down the drain is more likely to happen than continuing to steadily play that “kindergarden” pve competitive game that will cater to solo/duo q.

Sorry to shock you but Bunker are not Deleted or Removed. Main bunker player, like me are experimenting with other builds right now.

On top of my head, there is 4 elite spec that have good bunker potential. (can stomp, can rez, can cleanse, can AOE heals, can boon their team mate, can CC/Interrupt, can take cleave)

Lately, with a scrapper bunker, my trio win a match versus Thunderbird and Firebird duo. Neither the burst from that Overpower Necro or that Crysis DPS warrior was enough to kill my bunker experimental build. (i have screenshot at home)

I am taking big name from Radioactive, to let you know that bunker is still a viable role versus high level players. But since I switch to meta bunker to my experimental bunker build, I did lost 1 game over 2 night play.

Did played more than 7k with different bunker builds/classes.

Eles are pointless in pvp

It’s your opinion that hybrid builds lose 1vs1, whether is true or not…it requires another thread. Although i can guarantee you that merc/paladin builds can hold/win still when built properly

First point: I believe that it’d be good to remove cleric amulet also, the healing and toughness combination brings for a very unhealthy gameplay to PvP.

Second point, the excessive healing gives viewers a false impression about balance, in the end ele get balanced with the idea of cleric healing in mind, something that must be changed asap.

Third point ; I have no problems with support build or people who wish to run them; my problem is how this support is achieved, given the lack of strong active defenses on the ele, to promote a cleric playstyle just spells even more disaster for the profession. If the devs would remove entirely any form of passive healing from the game then it’d be great, but for now…we need to delete cleric amulet

Again about my second point , everything on ele get nerfed around the idea of healbot.
Everything get nerfed because devs can always say :" oh it’s fine to butcher eles, after all they always can slap a cleric amulet and troll people, just annoying them really, he won’t pose any threat anyway"

Worst that will happen is that couple of necro players who own Metabattle.com will put this trolling cleric amulet build as meta for ele, consequently we’ll see many trolling cleric eles in ranked, they won’t do nothing but waste your time.

Anyway I can imagine that the build will fail in ESL anyway, the only reason tempest was taken last season it’s because of chronobunker who provided block/cc to healing shout eles…with all hope this build will die at launch

Cleric Aurashare is the next support meta build. The ESL and AG rules about class stacking is creating that, not the fact that the cleric amulet exist.

I did bring thousands of game in the top 200 leaderboard with cleric builds. Each comp need 1 support to make your 3v3 fights better. If you can’t figure it out yourself, at least let others do.

There is no tank, no healer… there is burst, sustain and support. Cleric amulet is pure support. If you don’t like it, play menders or sage for sustain support.

Sorry but with the class stacking rules for competitive play, it would be really hard to take an ele over a scrapper or reaper for your sustains spot. Nor a thief or a DH for the dps spot. Ele is the favorite support build for 3 years. Now, it’s going to be cleric ele.

They need to change ELE to make it more viable for sustain or dps. But for support it’s great.

BTW, the next PRO League will bring Cleric Aurashare on the table and it will get metabattle META status because of that, not because the admins are necros or this or that.

To summarize:

1- Ranking should be done skill based, aka old leaderboard stats.
2- Ranking should be show in game, you are rank 125 (where 1 is top) then show it.
3- Reward should not be tied to ranking. The grind need can be done into a quest like something. So everyone who put effort but are not the best could have it.
4- Reward should be good for PVP players. So, pvp exclusive skins would be better and many serious PvX person (Tabarnacos number 1 AA) could go hunt those skins (and he is a really great pvp player).

Pvp players don’t play for grinding rewards, but to get better. Having a ranking that reflect that is addictive to us.

Even if the ranking in the 2014 leaderboard could had been fine tune more, it was way better than what we have right now.

I agree with you partly.

Personal score is not representative of real contribution to a match.

Removing options is always bad. (please stop asking them to DELETE, this is a LAZY solution)

They need to rework it, so the people KEEPING point UP make point for doing so.

IT would mean, each time you fight in range of a point of your color, you got 1 pt / tick.

So, if you 1v1 all game on home point, you will get much contribution than the roamer decap/capping OPEN points.

GW2 not made for sPvP

Anyone else feel like most of the effort went into things like WvW and PvE? I’ve been reading on forums from 2012 to now. People have since then been complaining about design problems, balance issues, matchmaking issues, the works. I see some things got better, but not much.

I really want to like PvP, I even bought HoT (I played since 2014 2015ish) to have a fair advantage.

PvP has received far more love than WvW over the course of this game, and whilst PvE has obviously had more resources put into it, the actual combat in this game was designed around PvP, and for the first 3 years the game was virtually entirely balanced around PvP, to the detriment of WvW & PvE.

The state of PvP is down to poor decisions by Anet, a policy of band-aids rather than fixing actual issues, making the classic mistake of launching without decent PvP infrastructure, so by the time you add things like leagues it is too late, a huge chunk of your actual PvP population has left the game (bribing PvE players into PvP does not work) and so on…

If you define love as destroying and rebuilding everything from “match-making 5.0, leaderboard 4.0, rewards, level, skills, builds, meta, maps” and still offering the third of features you where offering at lunch.

Guess they did Love PVP too much.

Season 4 Ranked Matchmaking Change

We’re not at a point where we’re able to discuss the changes we’ll be making to PvP Leagues for future seasons, but making rewards more accessible for casual players and making divisions prestigious and a more accurate indicator of skill are among our highest priorities.

Even more accessible than they are now? So that they don’t reflect neither dedication nor skill? Seems like the perfect approach to appeal to the PvP fanbase.

In the meanwhile, legendary armor is gated behind weeks and weeks of raiding (which I think it’s perfectly fine). But apparently PvP rewards should be awarded just for logging into the PvP lobby.

You should fix the division system so it purely reflects your skill level, and then gate the rewards behind divisions, so people are encouraged to improve, not to brainlessly farm PvP games.

But you cannot seriously pretend to turn GW2’s PvP into an eSport while rewarding in similar ways hardcore and casual players. Either you create a casual-friendly reward system and then abandon the eSport adventure (which is quite dead anyways tbh), or you gate rewards behind skill level to encourage competition/improvement, even if that means losing casual players in this particular game mode.

You can make a competitive match-making.

You can make a competitive ranking with it.

You can make a different grindy “quest” to rewards anyone. You just need to do your PVE grindy reward not “tie” with the competitive system.

So you still get casual pver grinders playing into a competitive system.

But going a bit deeper, they need to get REWARDS for PVEr and REWARDS for the best in PVP, so both your hardcore and casuals get something out of it.

Anet did wrong trying to mix both of those, trying to make everyone happy that way, did the opposite.

They just need to make a proper MM and Ranking system. Then put more rewards that cater all their player base.

But there is a pretty big chunk of players who don’t pvp because of the softwall put by premade teams. Those might outweight the number of people that quit

But most people who vote for the poll don’t play PVP.

If the pool had been restricted to the 1000+ ranked games players, it would had been a totally different results.

So, yeah… the hardcore player base (20%) of spvp have more incentives to find other games than continue the masochist feels of seing his beloved game options DELETE over and over.

On the other way, it will be way easier for high mmr players to get a high rank because we had been constantly put versus premade while soloq, because no other soloq team was good enough for us.

But, our hardcore spvp team players are most likely to have average MMR because they most likely play with BAD MMR players in their “pug” premade from time to time.

I didn’t care, because my win ratio as soloq guy versus average team is more than 60%.

I struggle versus super pug premade (people from The Mist Initiative, PZ or NL) when they Q together. That’s about it… and… well, they don’t RANK Q much these dayz. They scrim or play other game.

Auras nerf + Celestial removal + Diamond Skin nerf + Earth protection “fix” = D/D ele is prbly the worst class to sPvP today.

I can see how auras lasted to long, or diamond skin was a bit much… but dont make all this nerfs while u also remove celestial and decide to fix earth overload….
As a newly game dev my self i honestly cant see how they didnt realized this was a bad idea… i just cant.

Sorry even with the nerf, my df tempest hold his ground in 1v1 versus reaper opness. (take a minute or two, but at least the build offer the best support of all classes/builds for team fights)

I think you all need to get the new meta build on metabattle. (not yet there, after PRO League is starting i guess) From there, you will try it and like it or not. But it will never be OP as the kittening mess we had since april 2014 patch.

New to thief...how to survive?

Immpossible did make many 1v2 for minutes with thief.

He do that in timing when to go on point so they don’t cap it and juke out to get chase around, to go back on point.

If you can do that on thief, you can do that on anything else.

Work on Juking skills.

For the thief 1v1 comment, it’s false. In the past 4 years, many thieves where beast in 1v1. I can name Caed, Toker, Snuggle, Tron…

1v1 with thief is the harder skill ceiling you get for 1v1, but it’s possible to win most of your 1v1 with a thief. I’ve seen Snuggle in 2015 being Kill of the Hill for hours.

To others saying thieves should not be on even fights (1v1, 2v2, 4v4). Usually, having a thief on even fights is better than being -1 and losing it. Thief should be first to rotate out of team fights when it’s +1. (err, when the first is down but not stomp, to decap/ca side points, before leaving he poison arrows the body)

Good thief know to position themselves near their support toon and use the body of the support (druids, scrapper, ele) to body block their attacker. Since they have great evage and TP, they can enter a fight and exit in 5 sec… (not enough to get killed from aoe, but you know… not more longer)

Those 5 sec thief in team fight are game changer. It’s when you see 3 or 4 bodies on the floor… I guess Dagger auto-attack is OP for that.

This season meta, Immpossible and Topher both shows to me, it is possible to do all that and more.

But… if you wanna faceroll with thief… sorry, change class.

It’s all about where you are, where you go (not too long) and using your peelz from support properly. So, yeah… a thief without a good support is bad. Same thief with awesome support is King.

Just a quick reminder: the PvP team is not responsible for profession balance. The PvP team, along with all of the other major feature teams, provides feedback to the skills team, but the PvP team itself is not directly involved in making balance changes.

Even though grouch isn’t to blame, he essentially just told you the problem regardless if you’ve realized it or not. Since PvP is not being balanced separate from the rest of the game, the most “balance” you’re going to get is from a team who’s main concern is not SPvP. There’s a reason why every major balance patch there’s an amulet gone and a new one taking it’s place, because that’s the only thing other than runes and sigils that the PvP team in particular has complete control over, it’s just the only thing they have to change that won’t effect the rest of the game. So of course that’s the only action they can take, however that doesn’t mean it’s the right move, just a desperate one.

Until this changes the overall player population will suffer, pro league will continue to suffer in both team participation, team quality, and so on. Primarily fueled by players who are not even in it for the competitive aspect or even enjoying the game as a whole, but to siphon off whatever money is left in a dying community, it’s sad really.

In negotiation or politics, the tactics to say “We are not responsible” really means, we are responsible for being powerless.

And they are not powerless.

They did removed Cleric without giving alternative to the support playstyle.

Support need a way to beat some cleave to REZ and stomp properly.

Now… to make some PR damage mitigation, they say they are not responsible… but they ARE.

They removed an amulet that was for 4 years important for a class archetype of our game mode. The support bunker. They did this without giving a Templar rune or something with less toughness on it.

The worse is Cleric Amulet is just fine, since Tempest got nerfed across the board, it could be correct to let Cleric live.

Here is the key word of the Powerful PVP team:
“For this release, we wanted to take support down a notch and increase the pace of combat.”

Well.. a notch would had been to give us a 4 stats amulet with toughness and healing power with perhaps less damage.

But no…. it’s not a notch. The PVP team clearly want to delete ROCK.

Mender is bad. People like how it feels, but when META will settle… no one will play squishie support over squishie dps or bruisers condies.

tl;dr – The not responsible is a smoked screen that means they are powerless.

They are responsible for the removal of the amulet. The nerf on Tempest were enough.

Removing the amulet without giving another one to take down support a notch, is removing support as a whole on the meta.

I still see Engi being viable in ESL-teams. Without class stacking though, it’s gonna be all 2 Power Rev, 2 Condi-Mes and 1 clerics-Ele. :P

Problem with that thinking is now, another viable build (bunker scrapper) got destroyed by an overnerf.

It was a good nerf for POWER user, but for those who healing power matters, the trait is the same bad trait than for the dps roamer build.

So… even if you rationalize this, Anet is still killing build diversity with applying bad nerf on a class. Nerf it for POWER or CONDI based, but let it be for SUPPORT one that have high healing power would mean they would adjust the healing power scale of the trait to be better.

I am the last bunker main of this games, all the others flip to another game because we had been always over nerf for all nerf on DPS/Condi OP classes without being taken into considerations.

Guess it don’t matter.

… That’s how tons of bads lucked there way to diamond and legendary last season through sheer grinding.

IMO season 2 is worse than season 1.

We didn’t heard much complains about match-making in season 1. It was all about the PRO abusing mechanic (smurfing).

It was not a League breaking issues, like we have now.
(MMR hell at each division entry tiers)

It was harder to grind in season 1, because your opponent team MMR was matching yours. (you had to lower your MMR to get easy grind)

Season 2, is easy soloq grind for 25% of player base and horrible for 40% of the bottom player base that are stuck in division entry. Many of those are competent above average “hardcore” (those that play the game only for spvp) players.

Worse… don’t ever lose versus bad mmr players, cause your real MMR you work hard for the last 4 years got REKT for good.

Reroll and buy a new HoT box to win more games. Buy to play to get abused by bad league mechanic to make sure you buy more boxes to make sure you still keep your addiction. Oh wait… I don’t want to Buy to Win.

What about diamond skin, nullfield and mesmer CC?
If they kill the ele the mesmer can pick him up instantly and if they pressure the mesmer the ele can pressure them.

Do it yourself, take two condi REV that know how to play together… your mesmer will not be able to rez, nor you will be able to null field or stay in it (because sword 3 + shinro heal is pure DAMAGE destroying you right there).

I play bunker mesmer for longer than HoT (yeah chrono is great but…) and we don’t do enough damage. The burst from two REV is so brutal you can’t even think what you will do versus it.

Furthermore, a SPVP leatherboard should be up and running as the TPVP leatherboard.

All it need, is a new parameter for the lookup in the database. Why spvp leatherboard? To have a real idea of an individual skills… versus the capacity to be with the right group at the right time (TPVP is less skill than social luck).

More… tpvp is a niche. Many more people play spvp so, why not having a score board for the doing?

Season 4 Ranked Matchmaking Change

1- People would prefer to have same skill level of all players on both team. Not bad playing with good. This was the case before Anet implement Pip-Range to counter SMURFING. Please, undo that. Simply give a PIP malus for the highest divisions players. So, they encourage their team to not smurf.

2- Rewards should not be tied to ranking. Everyone want rewards. PVP casual rewards (back pack) and PVP best rewards (those only the best can have). So, introducing more rewards is need.

3- PIPS system of season 1, was appreciated by the player based. Not losing pips for closed match (ie 400+ to 500) was a good incentive for players to continue and not AFK/rage quit. Please, answer your player based about PIPS system of season 1.

4- Divisions or League with grinding WINS is not working to show prestige. Grinding hard or easy game to progress where you should belong to get good matches is counterproductive. We want good matches on the go. Overwatch have a ranking ELO based system that is addictive for competitive gamers and casual one. Please think about this.

5- Many players who got easy wins in season 2 and 3 had been MMR carried. Now they need to carry low MMR or have their MMR reset. Many are already complaining. A division placement + a MMR soft reset would help to see who is WORTHY of their MMR.

HoT elite specs are easy to play and learn, they attract players, and are op, so the f2p accounts buy HoT. Meaning everyone that is wanting the back piece, and that pips are killing the pvp community because. The HoT elite specs make it so hard to kill people that they had to remove bunker ammys, instead of balancing the specs. This was not a problem pre-HoT. There is just way to much defensive traits and utilities now to where it doesn’t even take skill to run certain classes, and also the aoe from these specs is to player friendly instead of a coordinated single target burst from the more skilled classes. These aoe’s give players the ability to just burst randomly and hit stuff without even targeting, which is pathetic on anets pvp team and take no skill at all. Pre-HoT pvp, was what would have brought this game into serious esports.

They did try to convert their pve population (millions) with easy passive or OP skills to pvp population (thousands).

The break the pvp population (thousands are gone to balanced pvp games) and pve population prefer to kill scripted dolls.

It was so wrong but it’s too hard to rollback.

sPvP lifespan for average joe is 3 months.
For smart player that like pvp games, 6 months.

We know each other, that it’s really hard to create a spvp guild and keep it alive for more than 3 month. (except pro league guild or MISTCORE).

The real elephant in the room is that MMR is based on wins, losses and disconnects. It is not based on what the player actually does in a match on a specific profession. MMR is flawed so what Evan says about players staying in a division based on MMR is extremely flawed.

After 4 years of playing spvp consistantly 3 or 4 nights a week, I can assure you MMR is based over WHO you win and WHO you lose.

I’ve seen people with 60% win/lose ratio that were in the 90% of the ranked leaderboard MMR (skill based) system.

Nothing about simply grinding wins… Except from 2015 january and up.

You are either too new to know, or not good enough (never been ranked on old leaderboard) to feel for it.

No team-based ranked mode seems like a bizarre choice.

I think having both a solo/duo and 5man team queue options, which are eligible for ranking (possibly on separate tracks) could be interesting. Whether that is viable in terms of playerbase though I am not sure.

Push some GEMS each month with special in-game “auto” tourney (bring back Paid Tourney) that are 100% full premade. This will make the Q full of teams like it was at released.

Scrapper Offense + Defense = Too High

Compared to All other Melee Classes:
-Engineer has Superior Base Damage
-Engineer has Superior Power Coefficients
-Engineer has Superior Defense

Scrapper Base Damage, Power Coefficients, and Defensive Capacity need to all be re-evaluated. Right now this is clearly imbalanced.

It is balanced around the fact that we can’t switch weapon.
Kits damage are sub-par to most weapons skill of the game.

If something need to be done, is simply raising Cooldown on hammer 2 and 4.

Best spvp experiences ---> Unranked!

Greetings all.

I am a long time spvper. I like to have fun into this game mode.

Since Anet introduce the grinding season in 2015, many competitive players without a real skill based leaderboard have left the game.

I understand that people want to get some rating out of pvp play.

But for myself, Unranked is the ultimate experiences since 2 years.

The match-making is constant, it bring a lot of even matches, people are chilling and most of them having fun.

So, for all those who complains about:

1- Bad matchmaking.
2- Toxic communities.
3- MMR hell.
4- PIPS.

Just put those bad thing aside and come join US into Unranked.

The best competitive players of sPvP are actually more playing that game mode.

Rank queue is invade by pver who don’t get clues to grind wings in first or second season, meaning we have the worse gamers into our game mode right now.

It’s not even funny, how people with 40% win rate still grind that queue to get some PVE stuff.

I miss the old days of 2013-2014 where our leaderboard would reward us to be RANK into the best 100, best 200, best 300… even if we did lower some ranks… it was great to feel and say I am in the best 200.

But now… not so much. PIPS count don’t mean you win on the best, but means you did win a PIP. Season 3 MM is perhaps better than Season 2…

I am just doing a Rallying Call here, for all those who got fed up by RANKED PVeR queue, to come and enjoy playing unranked with the best of the game.

We are better than PIPS grinding game, come and show it over with your Unranked MMR!

MOBA is a bullkitten term created by riot to confuse people and trick them into thinking they created something new, the definition is so loose basically everything could be a MOBA. The original term is ARTS (Action Real Time Strategy).

LoL is only stable with earnings, the playerbase is shrinking. Dota2 and Smite are pretty stable playerwise but much smaller than LoL and the rest isn’t even worth mentioning (yes the Heroes playerbase is non-existant in comparison to LoL/Dota2/Smite). Overwatch is not a ‘MOBA’ it’s a FPS like TF 2…

They release new games of that genre every year because it’s the newest hype and creates money with pretty low effort. It’s the same as with MMOs a few years back.

Yeah, you are right. RIOT want to OWN MOBA but they don’t.

MOBA stand for multiplayer oline battle arena. Unreal Tournament is a MOBA. TF2 is a MOBA. Quake Arena, is a MOBA.

Any games genre can be a MOBA.

Street fighter 5 is a MOBA. They get a ranking system, a match making system and put competitively players online in battle. The Arena is anything that got a limited space that put people vs people into it. The Battleground of WoW can be a MOBA if they got ranking + matchmaking system.

MOBA is another term to say a Player versus Player game. But it’s more than pvp. It got ranking + match making system. To create a match making system you need a queue that will analyse ranking of people to put them versus a match of somewhat equal skills teams. MOBA are not open end pvp free for all to grinds and kills.

I DONT CARE ABOUT PERFECTION. Nothing is perfect. Gw2 sPVP is not perfect but it’s the best Action RPG MOBA around. I dare you find me a better Action RPG MOBA right now. None other exist. Yeah we have RTS MOBA (ARTS) around… but not Action RPG.

Guild Wars 2 is the best. QQ all day, all night… QQ more on forum, QQ on TS with your team… Gw2 sPVP is a MOBA and need to get through the MOBA scene like a MOBA. Not like a dying genre (MMORPG) but like a growing genre (MOBA).

This is a great occasion to bring new players into the dying MMORPG genre. Many MOBA players played their first MMORPG with GW2 and got attract firstly by SPVP.

Is Wrong since you didn’t compare it to other professions.

You need to give all those stats for all other professions before doing disinformations.

Losing a game at 400 is way more rewarding for your MMR than losing a game at 20 points.

It’s directly proportional to your opponent team. If they are lower than average MMR, you can get a big drop of MMR for that.

It’s why all competitive players will still try to lose the match with big numbers no matter what.

Working his MMR is hard, take time and dedication. If anyone is AFKing, those same guys will speak of MMR hell in a week or two.

We really need to get a report feature for AFK, for the instance we do report for botting.

We really need to get people with high dishonor stack to play with themselves, even if they have 10 minutes queue time.

Punishing the player bases for TROLLS that can’t play a match because a bad start, is BAD.

Since the patch of 26th june, Necro and Spirit Ranger cause OPness and havok.
Many vets are done with GW2 and CORE team are in disarray and mayhem.

The noob, the PUG and all those feeding CORE team are now gone to Soloq. Good riddance but the rippling effect, mix with the devastating patch of June is simply too hard for our community to handle.

Now tonight, we face the same dominating team 4 times in a row. To get rid of that unpleasant evening, my team simply call the night off. Less team to play against, mean that kind of kitten more often… and we are already fed up.

At the same time, we have DOTA2 that got millions of people playing and hundred of millions watching at TV the games. (yeah! Literally… TV shows of gamers playing DOTA 2) Another great Esport, that is free to PVP all your heart. That have a great matchmaking, because they have the critical mass to do so.

Actually, it’s even bigger. They raise the cap to 3 millions dollars for 1 tournament. So, how long before the pro look at a mere 10 000 and dreams of millions?

GW2 should give for free the sPVP section of the game. That way, they can sell more boxes for those who like sPVP enough. Is it so hard to sell things in the shop that goes to the tournament reward like all MOBA do? Please Anet, continue the fight, the community of your TPVP TEAM is dying in front of you….

1 cleric amulet into a COMP is not a bunker META.

To counter a cleric build, you need poisons + cc chain + condies.

Reaper condi meta counter ele.

The best thing for 5v5 conquest maps would be to NOT have conquest maps anymore.

Courtyard respawn is bad for deathmatch.

They should do “round” of many smaller matches like they did in Gw1.

1) Bring back auto-tourney (paid tournament) for TEAM QUEUE ONLY

2) Bring back the MYSTIC FORGE for the paid tournament chest, for a PVP skins system

3) Put more rewards to buy with the league ticket grinds, i.e.: Paid Tourney ticket and some component to create PAID team tourney on MYSTIC FORGE.

4) Bring back QP from paid tourney and the best TEAMS compete each month for gems pools.

Those three things where into the game in 2012 and it foster a community of “teams” that compete hard to get enough QP to make the montly “auto-tourney” where you could win GEMS and get them NOW (not 4 months later…).

Best of all, “all the code is somewhere in SVN, so the proposal is cheap to do”.

BTW, PRO-LEAGUE did kill the NA weekly ESL cups. That ESL event was way better than PRO league, because any team could try it. It was way easier to try the competitive path than it is right now.

It’s why I think, that bringing back paid tourney would help the community to forge more competitive teams. For something they can work over to have great rewards in doing so.

Everybody and their mothers are screaming about the new meta of conditions…

So many people will spec for anti-conditions. Then the conditions dps classes will scream with their mothers how it’s unfair… bla bla bla… adapt to meta or die.

Spec diversity in pvp arena is not an option. Find me a game with a lot of diverse spec for great arena / conquest map for 1 class… everybody and their father would be there gaming.

It’s not about DH.

Guardian class had been nerfed each balanced patch since released.

Retaliation nerfed is not good anymore and it’s like 25% of guardian traits.

The after cast of hammer, mace are terrible.

The output damage of the cleric amulet is lower than all other classes wearing cleric.

The DH high burst from traps, is a joke. Guardian aoe burst damage was good, adding traps is the cake of the crap. People call for OP BS because of that.

Actually, the more supportives weapons (staff, hammer, mace) need a better damage scaling or to hit faster.

Guardian need more HP to be able to be bruiser like or bunker like.

Guardian need 1 or 2 weapon that can do condition damage to get a viable condition build.

DPS guards or DH are good but they lack REV or Thief mobility making them subpar for dps roamer. (it’s why I play them with Traveller rune but that removing a lot of options)

The smite conditions buff + traits was really need. Now we can sustain versus condies without shouts.

But guardian need much more work to get balanced for all roles into pvp.

Coming from a 5k games played by guardian guy.

I can say that bunker mesmer (season 1) > Warrior Shoutbow (2014-2015) > Tempest Ele support > Scrapper gyro support > Warrior Bunker Banner > Bunker guard tie with Cleric Necro Transfusion.

For conditions it’s a lot worse than that.

So, all in all… Anet want guardian to be a squishie AOE bursting class that run slower than all others.
