Generally speaking, bandwagoners are all bad players that can’t fight for kitten. Wipe them repeatedly and they go bandwagon somewhere else

It makes a pretty significant difference as you get into the more skilled parts of the game. Since the removal of stats from traits, ascended gear has gotten a pretty big buff over exotic, so the difference is at around 15% now rather than the previous 10%. If you’re 1v1ing a full ascended with full exotic with the same class at equal skill level, you’ll notice the difference pretty quickly. Granted, this game isn’t balanced around 1v1s, but the point still stands.

I think most of the previous generation have moved on from runescape, at least, I, and everyone that I have known that used to play have. Tis a pitty when the nostalgia strikes but being unable to go play the game I remember, oh well.

But… I don’t think fishing would really work, the primary point, I think, for fish and catchables to be introduced, would be as “Food” to “Heal” which this game doesn’t do.

Blackgate had all borderlands queued and EBG had no queue. I think it shows how many wanted Alpine back. We had 2 borderlands queued ’til like 1am EST. This is opposed to the usual 50+ EBG queue that we would get since the server links. Alpine borderlands FTW

Note that Tap Dat Mouse’s builds are all bad. I mean, all of them.

If you’re roaming in WvW, shout guardian is one of the worst ways to go about it. Instead, you should be using a meditation build which focuses on self sustain and high burst damage.

I personally run a 0/2/6/5/1 medi build in sPvP and WvW with full berserker gear and strength runes (can run PvE with this gear too, just replace sword with scepter). Greatsword and Sword/Focus. 0/6/6/1/1 also works well as a full burst type medi guard, but far riskier in a WvW setting.

edit: just looked more closely at your build. You’ll want to swap out sigil of mischief for hydromancy, battle or doom. Knight’s armor isn’t too bad, but swap out the runes if you’re going to roam/duel. Like I said earlier, shout guardian sucks pretty bad at the whole roaming thing. If you can’t afford Rune of Strength (they’re pretty pricey), rune of the ogre or rune of the pack work well too.

Don’t use the same build/gear between roaming and zerging in WvW. They are two completely different play styles and you need to respect that. If money is an issue, grind dungeons or PvP (whichever you prefer) for your exotic armor while you wait for your ascended trinkets with laurels

The only thing a D/D or S/D ele needs is now is for RTL’s cooldown to be reduced.

Many on BG and JQ dont care about winning and PPT. We come for fights, because winning and ppt are meaningless. Yaks bend is kittenous garbage server that does nothing but pvd and siegehump. If there was anything on the line, like a tournament I can assure you BG and JQ would be out in force and YB would be crushed.

Many on YB come for fights, but are unable to fight on even grounds due to having considerably smaller forces. JQ and BG have kittenous garbage players that run in much larger groups, often times team up to fight YB, and complain like sore losers just because YB uses allowed game mechanics just to stay competetive. I guess at the end of the day, these players can rest assured that they’re clearly more “skilled” as those 10 YB wouldn’t have killed their 20+ man zergs without siege weaponry.

Do people… honestly think like this? Like… serious question. I’ve met maybe 3 people who had those opinions and I pretty quickly told them to kitten, but for the most part I feel like people who zerg are fairly aware that they’re zerging. Right? Am I just hanging around with the wrong people? I stopped going into public teamspeaks a while ago.

Anet should stop rewarding PPK when an opponent has the outnumbered buff. And the API should separate out kills and assists.

Could even change PPK so it’s only awarded to the server that has the outnumbered buff – that way blobbing is no longer the best way to get PPK and the outnumbered buff is actually a little bit useful.

Or 3 points if you have outnumbered buff and 1 point if you don’t, just so that you’re still rewarded for winning fights as a guild group away from the main blob.

Want duels? Obsidian Sanctum. Seriously, though it’s empty most of the time, once a high profile GvG is announced, people will go there early and duel to kill time before a GvG.

The thing is folks. It shouldn’t and will never be. How are conditions OP when they are not dominating any other part of the game. WvW Roaming is not a supported game format. Join the zergs or L2P.

I used to think condition builds were OP. Then I realized so are Shadow Arts power thieves. So are nike warriors resetting at will. So are Power PU mesmers. etc etc etc

If you want fair small scale fights you know where to go – PVP
If you want “fair” small scale fights with your OP build because PVP customization sucks. You deal with WvW roaming which is not a real game mode and you deal with the BS builds.

Why is this more important than fixing WvW PPt, defense, or coverage. IT’S NOT!

Here’s the thing. Like you said, conditions are only really viable in PvP. The issue is that it’s too overpowered in PvP but too weak in PvE. The reason it being too powerful in PvP is that there’s not enough cleansing to combat the amount of conditions applied. The reason it’s too weak in PvE is due to the condi cap limiting the amount of DPS output (combined with the weird way condi is calculated so that someone with a lower condi power will lower the overall condi damage when the condi is at cap). Conditions are broken in this game and need to be fixed.

Right now, the only viable characters I have for roaming are my warrior and necromancer. Guardians are hilariously bad at roaming and ele gets 2 shot by shatter mesmers and 5-2 thieves. I just got my thief to level 80 recently so I’m still terrible at it. I use a condi necro myself so I know how kitten strong it is compared to any power build.

This isn’t just about WvW. It’s about sPvP and PvE too.

So my guild’s been around for around 2.5 years now but over half are transfers, some who’ve transferred years ago too… You want to break up my guild?

4 maps a 100 people a 24 hours a 7 days is 67200 play hours per team and match.

No server is even close to use that, in mean the capacity is probably used to less than 10%.

You can only have balance at times where the capacity is used. And as it is never used you have never balance.

Which server? How many hours have you spent on each of the 24 servers in your region, that gives you the experience to make this claim?

With 20-50 player queues on four maps regularly on weekends on my server, I suspect your making uninformed and inexperienced assumption in my opinion, about other servers based on your experience on your servers. It is unfortunate that you would make suggestions that harm other servers, for the sole purpose of your personal gain on your server.

Keep in mind that your experience does not define that of others, so before you push for changes, it would be nice if you could look outside the context of your experiences first.

You also know that your server is the only server that produces those queues? Jade Quarry’s coverage so overwhelming right now that no one can even compare with those numbers. Your experience is not indicative of what’s going on in WvW. Neither is any server in T1. Perhaps get an alt down into T4 or T5 and see how the average WvW server plays without queues.

24/7 coverage doesn’t exist on any server so it stands to reason then, that map should become more dynamic based on population, perhaps with NPC events to try break down T3 towers and keeps. Siegeraiser simply isn’t sufficient enough.

PPT is kinda important to gauge balance and activity in relationship to the other servers in the matchup, but not much beyond that. Coverage wars to try win PPT is lame. What the new map shows us is that ANet wants to divert the focus back to PPT instead of the current player created open field/fights/GvG fun in WvW.

They should’ve just introduced an open map with interesting open terrain with 3 camps and a single castle in the middle, with all siege disabled except flame rams, and made it “King of the Hill” mode in WvW with points snowballing the longer you own it. It would still be a numbers game, but at least the fights on the map would be kitten amazing :P

I avoid the borderlands as much as possible now. Sad, cause I used to try avoid EBG if possible since it was just full of pugs.

WvW as we knew it is more or less dead. Karma trains are roaming around unchecked, then logging off as soon as a force logs on to stop them. Organic fights are more or less gone.

The people who only play 1 game mode will inevitably get burnt out and bored. Just saying.

Of course, player attrition wouldn’t be this bad with better dev support, but even so, WvW is a pretty small facet of GW2. I’ve always thought of WvW as the thing you do to measure your skills learned in sPvP against others with the stuff you earned in PvE.

More nerfs to elementalists… the class which has probably seen the most nerfs since launch, even compared to theif.

It’s like OP wants to play in a T1/T2 server without having to transfer servers.

At this point, I’d rather get 2v1’d again to get action on the maps. BG seems dead because there’s no action, which causes people to log out, cause we’d rather do anything else other than karma training (I tag up for fights, fights end, half my group logs off). Groups from YB and JQ are just karma training empty borderlands thinking they’re hot stuff, complaining about us zerging them down with 10-15 man groups calling them “blobs”, all the while bunkering in keep lords rooms with siege.

If you want BG to play again, bring us fights without siege. Most of us won’t even care if we’re vastly outnumbered.

@Torqued: You seem bitter that BG won’t respond to your requests to push PPT. Guess what buddy, we’re not here to play for you. We’re here to play for us. If you want to play PPT, tag up and do it. Don’t expect someone else, who has no desire to want to play for PPT, to play that way.

I hadn’t given any serious consideration to crafting a legendary before… but when the legendary collections came out I was hooked. It’s a great big scavenger hunt and I’m enjoying it. I haven’t got to the part of actually crafting the precursor as you describe, and maybe that’ll seem daunting when it happens, but the initial stages of finding the items is quite fun so far.

What people don’t understand is that this game is balanced around PvP. It was a PvP focused game that turned PvE because of a lack of PvP/WvW development. Zerker is meta in pve, but rarely do you get zerker elsewhere except some certain builds in WvW (zerk necro/ele backline DPS and zerk warrior cause warrior) and some DPS point roamers in sPvP (celestial is becoming much more effective in sPvP due to the nature of the game mode, for quite a few classes).

You want diverse builds? Go WvW. I carry 2-3 sets of armor on me depending on the class I play so I can switch between general zerging, solo roaming, scouting and havocing, which all use different builds, traits and utilities.

I am a WvW noob but I have played my druid on my server and not heard a single complaint. My server is curb stomping the other two at the moment (Yak’s Bend). From what I see the domination has a lot less to do with what classes are being played and more to do with the leadership knowing how to win. These guys are kitten good and seem able to work with any group.
Although I’m sure they are happier to see some more zerg friendly classes I’ve yet to hear a single complaint on class choices in map chat or ts.

Trust me, you’ll start to hear it the minute your server starts losing.

Would love for dwarves to make a reappearance. Tengu is the most obvious choice for the next race though. LEAD US TO CANTHA

Things are still quite competitive on NA T1, from what I can see. JQ made several strong attempts to take our keeps during night time (often with near-simultaneous assaults), but we managed to fight them off.

But yeah, we’re not seeing the multi-hundred queues we saw at the start anymore. I’m guessing that population is down now that most people have completed the meta, or they’ve gone back to EotM.

NA T1 is a joke right now. TC is getting the win this week and JQ is getting the win next week. The win trading has gone on for nearly the entire season

Anyway, I’m not feeling burnt out as I’m not playing more than I normally would. Yeah, I put in some overtime the first couple of weeks, but having put in hours of overtime in S1 and knowing how burnt out you can get, I deliberately dialled my play time back

Too much GvG, not enough actual WvW, means people on those so called “GvG” servers find it hard to get new blood into their guilds.

30v30 would be medium scale in T1. Truely large scale would be 60+ vs 60+ vs 60+ in a single area. kitten good fights those

You want something other than berserker gear to be optimal? Go PvP.

Open world PvE has always been about the DPS race, regardless of which game you came from.

If they’re going to GvG in a Borderland, run over them. Bring your zerg down there and steamroll them until they leave. Make it no fun for them. Take control of your own Borderlands, don’t ask Anet to do this for you. This one is a no brainer. It’s the things like afk’ers and crafters in WvW that Anet needs to do something about.

Just make sure your zerg isn’t brainless or your going to get stomped and embarrassed, most guilds have other members spectating so they can switch in for other classes. Meaning that a 15 man guild group could turn into a 25-30 man guild zerg in a matter of seconds. And even outnumbered a single guild zerg can destroy super blobs.

Doesn’t really matter. Keep interrupting the GvGs and they’ll eventually leave.

TC and JQ will never have room for complaint when it comes to 2v1 since season 2 until GW2 ends. Especially when right now is just welcoming you guys back to T1 and seeing what there is to fight from you guys. I doubt anything will come close to the zhit you guys pulled in season 2

This post is stickied at the top of the forum. It spells out exactly the areas they plan on addressing in the WvW update (population balance, scoring, player rewards). These have been identified as the core problems with WvW by many posts over the last 3 years, as well as the CDI threads a year ago.

Do you want Anet to consult with this forum at every step of the re-design process? Or would you rather have them do the job they’re paid to do, which is to design a better game product, and then put the changes out to the playerbase and adjust them based on feedback after the fact?

Really? Feedback after they introduce the patch? Right.

The whole point of communication is to allow ANet to understand what we, as WvW players, want out of WvW. There’s a whole range of WvW players, from the fighters to the point hunters, large group players and small, which is why feedback needs to reach them during development, not after, which is how we got the absolutely horrendous HoT stuff.

ANet needs to understand that if they deliver what we want through better communication (both ways), it will only improve the final product. Considering there’s been near radio silence on WvW in terms of actually talking to us and asking what we want (except for 1 twitch interview series), that’s just terrible.

My current server seems really outnumbered and with some lack of organization, (my first impression)

I used to play Warhammer online RvR, it seems similar to WvW, and I had a great experience with that. So I am looking for a server with more balanced numbers and a guild that is organized in WvW, and that doesn’t mind explaining why we are doing that move.
I don’t like just following the grouop around without knowing why that is important.

Hope to listen from you guys. If it seems vague, just ask and I will try to complement.

How important to you is winning? You can take your pick of any of the top 9 servers and they’re all fairly organised (more organised as you go higher up the tiers), but then, you’re asking for “balanced numbers”, which by the very nature of WvW, doesn’t exist.

Teamspeak is absolutely required for micromanagement in zerg movement across a battlefield. You’re not going to be there typing LEFT RIGHT LEFT FORWARD DOUBLE DODGE STACK EMPOWER WATER FIELDS BLAST in the middle of a fight. It’s stuff like that that wins fights.

If you think Barrage does damage… You need to revise your gear. Put up some retaliation and the ranger will die.
