Best music in a gameplay video ever.
That being said, good job again on another feat. I’d not thought it was possible to do the Hodgins library event solo, but good job in finding a way. Although to be honest, as the designer of that content, I did a facepalm when I saw your thread title.
Thanks (by the way I had to try 20+ times, too often because of constantly missing my attacks )
Why?
Its the Warrior designer and the profession balancing team that should be face-palming.
While i consider guardian pretty balanced, since his high resistance and nice support for team is balanced through rather low dmg. I dont see any downside on warriors, they excel in everything.
Excel at everything but defense. I mostly use only basic form of defense, dodge, which every class has access to. If you want know what seriously sucks with Warrior, that’s AoE projectile reflect/absorb, combo-fields and summons.
I admit damage is high, partly from class but also from being full-glass with best offensive stuff (or if someone has any better please let me know).
Also one thing to consider is that you don’t see me posting failed ideas/attempts or I need to use questionable tactics (like pulling Kholer). Try to think what your class is good at and play by its strengths.
Impressive.
What is that music though? I like it, it sounds like something from a final fantasy game…
It’s on video description.
That’s the thing. I think the community likes to see other classes being able to do the same. Solo lupicius and this, it’s been a warrior. Maybe we should just leave it us, “Other classes are simply not skilled enough to do something like this.”
Considering the OP has the necessary skills and knowledge to accomplish this as a warrior, I don’t see him not being able to do it with say ele, or ranger, or engineer. Just some time to learn the class mechanic on his part.
Actually only reason I can solo Lupicus is because Reckless Dodge allows me to dodge out of bubble. When that gets fixed… I really don’t know what to do.
+ I have seen quite promising Ele/Guard on Lupicus (go Haviz!)

I’m happy for my thief, but sad about might.
Edit: I assume the might nerf will prompt a record reset? That’s an across-the-board decrease of 125 power for all party members.
I think its possible, but in lower level dungeons you were probably stat capped (or close to it) anyway with Might and food so it probably wouldn’t change much for sub-80 dungeons. I could see it being something in level 80 though.
Might doesn’t get attribute capped.
Spider Queen man mode.
You won’t get any new fractals for “a game mode that is all about a continuous grind”.
Page and its progress can be previewed here: http://gw2dungeons.net/Records.
Introduction
This topic is about what content the record site should have, and perhaps what it looks like. If you feel like talking about staff and communication, feel free to use the other topic.
Content
Dynamic page with filters-
Feel free to share your ideas!
TODO:
- Add a link to the rule set on category column
- Design brainstorm
- Reddit release
- Optimization
- Interface brainstorm
- Additional features brainstorm (record resetting problem)
(edited by Wethospu.6437)
If I’m able to do a dynamic record page (as mentioned on the other topic) record data will be on a database. In that case ftp and svn become reluctant and approvers either have to know how to use the database or I make an interface for it (likely). Interface would be a website where you could add, remove and edit entries without any special expertise.
(edited by Wethospu.6437)
Cap is at 80. Nothing prevents you from entering.
Other classes have stuff like http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Vigorous_Precision which even require much smaller investment and are much simpler to use.
The trait which is getting nerfed by half next patch because there’s too much dodging going on?
Half?
A trait which is already weaker and requires more investment loses 70%. If you want them equal it should get 30-60 seconds internal cooldown.
I still remember soloing fractals up to Mai Trin, practicing it a bit and then putting a lfg so 4 random guys could get a reward for free. No restrictions, no requirements.
Only to have them faceplant in about 30 seconds and me getting kicked in about 15 seconds without any warning because they wanted to retry. And when I asked why would they kick me and destroy the instance when I had spend hours soloing it I get answered “because you didn’t talk to us”. Yeah sure, I will do some casual chit chat when I’m on low health and fighting to survive.
So based on this, I rather keep “elitist” requirements to weed out “non-toxic”, “relaxed” and “respectful” people like these.
I’m sorry, that story just doesn’t parse.
Oh? Why not?
Only people with zerk gear can do stupid things.
If you have only 2k ap, nomad gear and play necro, condi mesmer or staff guard you automatically can only do good things, behave well and pay taxes.
(edited by Wethospu.6437)
My HB deals 300k damage.
I think collection of encounter specific rule interpretations would also be good. Like mention that coral can’t be used to kill Ooze or mention that balthazar can bug if not done on purpose.
Would you, or someone else that like to put together a collection of those?
I would prefer not to. Hands full with my guide.
Correct me if I’m wrong here, but nobody from anet has ever said stealth skipping through the door in arah p3 is an exploit. What gives you the authority to say whether or not its an exploit? It seems to me that your forcing your opinion on others for your own benefit.
Since when you needed authority for opinions? Please stop derailing. It is important to have clear rules to avoid interpretations.
I’m not derailing. I’m saying you shouldn’t include something that no anet employee has confirmed to be an exploit in the no exploit rule.
That’s just so naive.
(edited by Wethospu.6437)
Most attacks already cleave/AoE.
The reason why stacking works is because most enemies die really fast and deal low damage.
—
You can’t do that, your majesty. That would be….challengingtoo hard for PUGs…
And those changes would only make it “normal”. I got more wild ideas to make it actually hard.
If it was up to me I would normalize base stats, remove passive crap, make AI more punishing, make boons and combos more important, improve condition damage and expand skill sets for enemies.
Every weapon is available at every level. Greatsword and axe deal the highest direct damage while sword is more about conditions.
If you want to deal high damage I suggest buying a masterwork (green) greatsword from trading post about every 5 levels. It should cost 1-2 silvers.
Then use utilities like Signet of Might, Signet of Fury or Banner of Discipline to buff your damage.
Buying new gear with power and precision also helps but gets costly if you update them frequently.

We just need another rework!
5 min paint job below:
- can select any fractal
- instabilities tailored for each fractal
- complete previous challenges to unlock next ones (also unlocks it in next scale)
- unlimited tiers with distinct difference
- completing locked challenge would complete one uncompleted requirement
Then add:
- daily fractal quest to complete 3 of 4 randomly selected challenges

Just checked lfgs for AC. People are enforcing triple warrior groups.
They’re allowed to play how they want, are they not? What’s the problem?
They don’t play how I want.
I would also like to see Snow Crows destroyed.

Keep it up guys!
Current findings for weapon strength scaling so far:
Data was gained from characters with exactly correct level (in level 30 dungeon a level 30 character and so on).
Until level 60, doesn’t matter whether you use Ascended, Exotic or Rare weapon as they scale down to same weapon strength. Until level 80, doesn’t matter whether you use Ascended or Exotic as they scale down to the same weapon strength.

No worries, my fashion style still remains.
Some people just know if you have an evil character.
The reason why enemies aren’t interesting is that about 90% of the playerbase would instantly complain how enemies just stunlock you (with one telegraphed skill every 15 s), slow you down (why should I bring condition removal??), avoid your attacks or just can’t be killed by spamming one skill.
My intent was closer to this:
- Zerkers kill some bosses before their abilities can trigger
- Stackers nullify some bosses’ game mechanics
Part of the misunderstanding might be that your intent was, “some bosses’ game mechanics,” but you said, “all bosses.”
—
I’m pretty sure ranging nullifies more mechanics than stacking.
I’m not a fan of free armor repairs because it feels like it reduces the impact of deaths from combat. From what I’ve experienced, free armor repair also renders repair canisters relatively useless in most situations outside of fractals and even then, it’s possible to “game” it by exiting and reentering.
Nothing prevents you destroying a couple of items whenever you die if you feel that it makes the game more fun.
snip-snip
I never said I found it “fun” to have repair fees, but I do feel that repair fees in some way serve the need to push players to play smarter and be far more aware of their surroundings rather than just have the “oh well, I died” mindset.
It’s already “oh well, I died” kind of a situation.
Harsh death penalty only encourages people to play safe instead of trying to challenge themselves and take risks. Doing extremely easy content or running with zergs is far from playing smart.
Please make Legendaries require a little bit of skill.
yeah, it’s brainless with low skill cap as well
Desperate Power begs to differ.
If you’d have to spend hundred of hours to unlock those waypoints, maybe you would see our point…
I wouldn’t, because I consider every hour I play a reward in itself. I’ll never be in a position to regret spending time on a game, because I’ll have enjoyed spending that time.
Let me you tell you a secret. You are not the only one playing this game. There are also… other people!
You can t compare a minigame boss with 4 Attacks with ANY gw2 boss balanced around professions and stuff even with some sort of AI etc.
4 unique attacks is more than most bosses have. Count them up, you’ll see.
Kholer: Scorpion Wire, Dagger Storm, Heartseeker, Serpent’s Strike (Leap), Serpent’s Strike (Evade), Hornet Sting, Monarch’s Leap, Flanking Strike, Flanking Stab, spawns Silver-Ghosts.
Could you explain how skipping leads to DPS centric play? How damage helps with skipping?
Only agony you experience in raids is caused by your lovely party members.
People complain because devs could have implemented a system which would both reduce griefing and support selling.
Instead of the current system which just seems to promote griefing.
If you think you are a decent player or don’t care about getting carried, I suggest avoiding levels 1-3. Lots of inexperienced guys (to fractals and to the game) are in same situation as you so things may go really bad.
Oh yeah, before planting a banner first retrait for regen!
At the moment:
Arah exp: lfg, lfg, lfg, need mesmer, lfg
Fractals 30+: lfg, lfg, lfg, need guardian, lfg, lfg, lfg, lfg, need guardian, lfg, lfg, lfg, lfg, lfg, lfg
So nerf Guardians and Mesmers.
Hello, I’m sure you all know the Giganticus Lupicus and how it takes ages to kill normally. Me and my crew have been practicing it hard and I believe we finally reached a new record.
This video shows me and my friends killing it under 6.5 minutes!
http://youtu.be/kI83CVxZIug
I actually need the ascended weapons. Do you seriously expect me to beat Lupicus solo record with just exotic weapons?
Also if I want to work on something I can always, you know, work in real life and get money. I don’t need work in my gaming.
I seriously can’t understand what you guy see in randomness.
We see the soul-crushing monotony that was CoF 1 over and over and over and over and over and over…
Players will gravitate to the easiest way to get the shiney. Sometimes its in the best interest of the game to NOT LET THEM.
Better “fix” dungeons too. Just make that whenever you try to enter a dungeon it randomly teleports you to any dungeon and locks the path selection. Only way to get rid of it is to completely the dungeon without stacking or skipping. Also remove grouping and just party people randomly. Imagine the soul-crushing monotony of playing with same set of friends all the time. We can’t have that.
Seriously, fix root of the problem. If people roll Swamp, make it longer. Like make people spawn at Mossman hut and move Mossman to trap area. Then require players to kill both bosses.
But no, let’s add some weird system which just makes everything more complicated and restricts stuff.
(edited by Wethospu.6437)
And still somehow those dirtnapping Berserker Warriors end up soloing whole dungeons.
Yes, if it affects the task.
No, self imposed is not the definition of arbitrary. For example restriction to solo Lupicus is self imposed but it’s not arbitrary. It’s well thought and makes sense for the encounter. However, a restriction to solo it without Banner of Defense would be arbitrary because it makes no sense.
According to you self imposed rules don’t increase challenge. So soloing Lupicus has same difficulty as when doing it on a group.
Let’s say developers add minipet for soloing Lupicus. Would soloing it suddenly get harder?
This is too funny. Posters have shown time and time again that there are exclusive pve rewards and that pve gets way more content but you all keep beating the horse. It’s like a group of spoiled children who think if you cry and whine enough, daddy Anet will give you more stuff. PvP has been the neglected middle step-child of GW2 for 2 years. 2 effing years. And when they get 1 armor (just 1) some of you turn into screaming, crying babies. It’s pathetic.
Game is split to casual PvP (WvW), high end PvP (sPvP), casual PvE (LS and open) and high end PvE (dungeons and fractals).
Guess which one gets the most updates?
(edited by Wethospu.6437)
His protective ice crystal may explain that.
The great mystery is how many of these are actually intended.
I would say it’s more effective to do it with 5 people. Also if you want to kill him really effectively then roll scale 1!
And sure it’s a cakewalk if you range it. Do you even have to dodge?
I can’t really take your posts for serious but it leads people follow the same direction.
Point was that it’s stupid to argue about efficiency when parameters haven’t been set. If parameters are scale 80 and 2 players then you can talk about efficiency between melee and range. But if parameters are scale 48, 2 players and melee weapons then it’s pointless.
If people think we were stupid to melee it (due to inefficiency) then I say you were stupid to 2 man it.
And one of the biggest reasons why we meleed was that ranging 48 would have been too easy. For the record, I have melee soloed it to 75% on scale 80 couple of times (just can’t do anything with the Elementals).
Yes, it is a nice achievement. But for me, it doesn’t hold that much value since the content is outdated. Especially when we didn’t really have chance to match/beat it.
(edited by Wethospu.6437)
GWSCR.com is a nice site but in-game system would be much more smoother.
You can have fun while skipping.
