Why are we in a condi meta?

Let’s get one thing clear, if we can “having condition builds viable in the meta” is NOT the same as “a condition meta”. The last meta was deemed a bunker meta because you had little reason to not be sustainy. At this point, thieves are playing Power, Eles are often playing Power, DH is power, scrapper is power, etc.

The meta hasn’t settled, and there honestly seems to be a mixed bag. To me, that’s ideal. A few condition spoilers being viable is ideal for diversity. People just don’t like that because they hate running cleanses and learning to handle them properly.

Maybe some of the Condi builds are a little strong right now, but I mean… There also ‘OP’ power builds. Things change and that’s just sort of how it is. Never understood the Condition stigma, I think much of it is just in people’s heads.

Edit: There is however a bit of a coverage issue though, which I find to be the bigger issue. Some skills apply too many effects and procs at once making it impossible to reliably condition clear. But that’s not a condition problem so much as a few passive traits. Certainly not the first time passive have created a larger issue.

Wow… and yeah, pretty much this. Also if you think they’re being generous letting you buy gems with gold, you’re fooling yourself. It takes 8.5 gold to buy 100 gems. You GET 6g for your 100 gems, and they much prefer you to buy gems to get gold because they know at the rate it takes to gear up naturally, people will VERY quickly spend 10-20 dollars and convert the gems into gold so that they can purchase what is basically the requirements to do decently in the game (at least exotic armor). The very rich (gold wise) few in the game can buy gems because they’re rich, but not many people have that kind of gold to just fork over for “whatever they want” in the gem store via gold. I’d venture many people, however decide one day “man I don’t have much gold, but I’d like to buy a condi set for WvW, since only power is viable for pve, I’ll need to purchase a new set, let me buy some gems and convert to gold because it’s not worth farming for.”

Let me put it this way. In GW2 it is faster to farm gold than for farm materials. But check this. You can work in real life and gain money to buy gold far more efficient than “working” in gws (aka running in circles in Frost Gorge Sound). You make on average 7 gold per hour farming in frost gorge sound. For 800 gems (10 dollars worth, which is a pretty normal mid-low hourly wage) you can buy 6×8, something like 48-50 depending on flux, gold. Not that isn’t not okay for a game to be a time sink, but when people realize this very basic math, it lures them into giving up on even FARMING (playing the game) and just buying their way through the game because it is about 8 times more efficient to just buy gems for gold than even farming gold. Let alone farming the raw materials and never using the TP which is probably hundreds, if not thousands of times less efficient.

This is, of course for people who just want to quickly swap some gear or gear up to feel decently competitive and doesn’t want to play in all greens/yellows forever and “play the game right”. This system wasn’t designed for people to “play the game right”. It wasn’t. They did this on purpose because they know how the mind works. It’s a mindplay, and yes it’s a HUGE grind. So like I said, just think about it.

1 hour of real life work = 8 hours of farming gold in this game = 1000’s of hours farming raw mats. You tell me they didn’t do this on purpose….

Remember, this game doesn’t have a sub. There IS a grind in this game, and it’s not by accident. In fact, I must retract an earlier statement. This isn’t poor design. It’s a brilliant design. But it sucks.

It blocks it because it’s a skill you’re using on another player. You’re using an attack TO transfer existing conditions , it is an instant spell cast onto another player.

Let’s remove if blind should be transferred or not because that is something developers have never stated whether the blind working through necro transfers was intended or not, it was just kind of swept under the rug until it was mentioned a month ago in the bugs forum (although it’s been mentioned countless times before) and obviously got devs attention but I think this stealth change shows you that it was never intended to be like that in the first place. Now, if it is indeed intended then they’ll simply change it back to how it worked before.

However, if you’re blinded, whether you’re transferring existing conditions or using any skill on somebody else then obviously if you’re blinded you cant use those very utilities or weapon skills to transfer blind over or else it defeats the entire purpose of the blind condition for counterplay against that very skill.

Actually, they did. It was broken at one point and didn’t transfer the blind. They made a specific patch note to add that it will now transfer blinds. This was a very long time to, but obviously intended.

So does this mean we are going to be able to queue 2v2s now instead of just 5v5 conquest? Am I reading it right? Curious cause no one seems to be talking about it.

Only custom arenas. We don’t have plans to support a 2v2 game mode with a queue.

Well at least I know there’s no reason to come back… That’s useful.

I’m not sure why you guys are making this harder on yourself than it needs to be. Just make it so that if you’re in a group of 2 or less you can que all 3 game modes and you won’t have to split the community beyond people who just simply don’t want to do conquest (which I have quit because I’m that done with it). We’ve had successful stream events for 2v2 for years and you guys added the failed Stronghold and still tiptoe around adding 2v2 despite obviously knowing how popular it is. What exactly is your end goal with this…?

Celestial is not an issue, and even Cele Necro isn’t that powerful. It’s good, but most of that “ridiculous condition damage” is just stronger condition class’s stuff getting thrown back at them.

Cele Ele’s issue is ENTIRELY an Ele issue.

No one else uses Celestial.

Use your brain and a little logic. Ele is the issue, not a kitten amulet. Fix the real issues, stop breaking perfectly fine things because of one unrelated issue.

the 1s on reaper is the duration for you moving 600 units, not 1s casting and then leaping. the blind happens after 1s so it works similar to ele’s evade frames on burning speed.

Except it’s still not an evade, right?

Not an evade, blocks projectiles. Desperately needs either a flip-skill or functionality of standard target-leaps, because without a shortstop it will be incredibly hard to make useful in close quarter pvp.

I won a major 2v2 with Spirit ranger+MM combo. They do work very well together and if you have 2 roamers, they work well as a pair certainly.

Leave burning to the guardians, warriors and eles imo. Wasn’t so bad there, on classes that didn’t also stack 100 other condies. (Warriors are getting there, now too, though.)

I agree. I was excited to see the range buff, though I personally feel at this point the sharing functionality it better just merged with the GM on Tempest. It’s a bit out of place as it stand or needs some additional benefit.

That said, auras not stacking is doing no favors for an already useless mechanic. Auras needed buffs not nerfs to the only semi-decent one.

Deimos, I’m just going to say it… Your sense of balance is terrible. You’re constantly defending broken unfun mechanics, and typically because you abuse them. Also this isn’t rock paper scissor. Its paper (conditions) can sometimes cover rock, or Rock (other) sometimes penetrates the paper. Rock can cause a gun (AR engi) to miss fire, or the gun can blow it to pieces, but pretty much always the gun destroys the paper without the paper even having a chance to blow away… That’s…. Not balance. No one likes Rock Paper Gun balance.

RNG and grind are two of those necessary evils in MMO games… they’re an easy way to make content repeatable, and content in an MMO pretty much has to be repeatable because there is no way a company can make content as fast as players can consume it.

I think players know that and understand that; the issue tends to be the degree and scale of RNG and grind.

I love farming and grinding. But you have to be able to OBTAIN these items, not farm gold to buy them because RNG is soooooo bad that there’s no other way… If I could go out and say have a 50% chance to get 1 (ONE) of the 250 (TWO HUNDRED AND FIFTY) of a single PART of… ugh, you get the idea… If I could realistically farm these fragments, sure… But kitten buying them all… zzzz.

If you love farming and grinding I am going to wonder about you for a bit. Repeating the same process over and over is repetitive and boring no matter the rewards involved. If that is your fun is repeating the process just to obtain a reward I just got to wonder.

I am wondering so much I don’t know what to say but that is some carrot chasing. The only time I repeat the process is when I am trying to increase my skill at that task, such as jumping puzzles.

If I remember correctly there was a psychological test done on animals for this.

Farming can be relaxing but ONLY if it feels rewarding. How in the world are you going to “wonder about me” feeling okay with SOME level of grinding/farming, when you’re the one defending the grind in GW2, the same grind that I (someone who even CAN get behind grinding) feels is too much. Sounds like you need to be worrying about yourself… This ascended armor very much is a carrot chase. Once Legendary armor comes out, you’ll have another long run for the carrot. And guess what, it’ll be just as if not more grindy than this one. The problem isn’t that there Is a grind, its that it’s so much based on gold grinding and not farming the actual materials you need. They can’t up the drop rates because it would hurt the economy, thus yes. This game IS economy driven, and it is a very-very bad thing.

As I said before I don’t grind in this game cause there isn’t a need to grind. Your creating your own grind. Your trying to change the game to match your grinding gameplay which in the long run would hurt the core of the game. If you stop trying to force a grind into a game that does not want or need it than the game becomes fun. Why are you even trying to grind? Legendaries are a long term PvE goal as stated by Anet. The issue is that people are trying to force Long term goals into short-term time frames.

That’s incorrect. Getting ascended armor IS a grind. Just because you chose to not partake in it or care enough to shoot for it until it falls upon you doesn’t make it not a grind. For example you could play a Korean MMO that requires you to kill mobs for 3 years to go from level 1 to max level. You don’t care if you ever hit max, so you just play every once in a while and kill stuff. It’s still a grind, you just don’t so much CARE about reaching the goal. A grind is a grind, whether you are hardcore about it or not.

Also, the high conditions isn’t from a grenade directly. It’s a mixture of Sigils+Trait procs. However, I’ll just recant that statement in favor of more popular “meta” builds these days that run Accelerant Packed Turrets now instead of Shrapnel.

As for the comparisons, classes can’t be 1:1 compared like that, I’m simply stating pieces that can be tweaked that lend a hand in the issues with engineers, I’m not saying all should happen, I’m giving examples. Point is, however, that Celestial Rifle engineer is incredibly powerful, and it is beyond me how someone can deny that. Their Vuln-on-Explosion coverage alone is amazingly potent in covering condition, especially since it isn’t chance-based, its heal (and the way engineer works) tends to stand out far more than Healing signet (post nerf). And so on, too tired to really argue right now honestly.

And again, I tried to make it very clear, there ARE issues with other classes. Passing the blame doesn’t fix anything. Sometimes its okay to get nerfed once in a while, as long as its handled properly and tries to get at the roots of the issues and not ripping the rug out from under the build entirely.

I like: Dark pact corruption and Enfeebling Blood corruptions.

Dislike: Auto attack corruption, and would prefer less on Signets.

I hope they keep it on the daggers. It’s active, and feels nice.

Signets (especially with plague signet) is too passive and annoying. The auto attack makes me cringe, even if it doesn’t happen too often realistically I don’t like it.

Corrupt boon, I’m pretty neutral about. It’s a better design I think, but he cooldown might be a bit short.

Outfits literally defeat the purpose of the wardrobe and fun of GW2s endgame, which is essentially dress up. Outfits are bad. More skins please.

If they have to be generic to all weights just add more heavy/mediums/light Shoulder+Helm+Gloves sets since they can go on any weight comfortably.

How to tone down the Cele damage and Turrets

I know this isn’t the popular opinion, but in general, I feel like the game would have been better off if they never had condition damage at all, and instead, condition duration gear and just have conditions be purely utility. It’s not possible to change now, but I think the game would have done better without condition damage and the weird need to juggle condition clears as a form of defense, and if they were strictly utility there wouldn’t be such a need for the removal and cleanses would be similar to boon rips.

I think that’s the best way to put it, conditions should have been like negative Boons, and not a damage source, and some damage ones (like confusion) could just slightly scale with power. Regardless, just seems like it causes more issues than it solves. But alas, I shall end my tangent.

OT: Burning change would probably do some good, yes.

How to put on armor from locker

Just double click or drag and drop the armor into the panel to the left. That puts those items into your bag. While in a PvP area, such as the mists, open your character panel and you will have a similar panel that has that armor. Then just line in PvE you equip that armor. Be sure to re-upgrade any items you swap out with new runes and sigils!

It’s time to add arenas!

Hello my frand! Could you please elaborate on this?

Game needs best of 3 2v2 and 3v3 elimination matches. Raw face to face pvp, the center piece of WOW’s pvp, and a market that greatly needs more attention. With the ease of access of the game, and the relatively decent balance in small skirmishes (outside of 1v1) they could yank a lot of players from WoW and have more enjoyable to watch “esports” that is easier to follow and less about spamming AOEs onto a point. That sort of stuff.

Here’s my problem with nerfing the Turrets trait. I get why it can be annoying, I really do. And maybe it needs to be buffed and only happen when you explode your turrets yourself, but- Its one of the very few things that can actually count as a skill gap for turrets. Using your heal offensively as an interrupt etc. It has skill involved, which is very scarce as a turreteer. :S

How would it defeat the purpose entirely of the skill? Is there a problem with hitting them once before transferring like everybody else has to do with any offensive attack or defensive attack?

So then blind shouldn’t affect condition removal on cleansing ire? Or a majority of classes that fail to manipulate conditions if they have blind on them based on an attack?

No, if you’re blinded, no skill should work whether you’re transferring, removing, or adding conditions to somebody.

Blind is a condition and those skills are intended to pass on any condition including blind, that’s just how it is, and should be. No real reason one condition should be immune to being transferred. The reason generosity doesn’t work is of you miss you sure as hell aren’t crofting regardless. It’s an on-crit ability.

Is it particularly fair to CI warriors? Personally, I always felt that if CI “hit” and was able to remove blind, it should do so to allow it to go through, that would do wonders for getting people to use something other than Longbow. However of the blind would not be removed (ie covered) then miss as usual. That’d be a good functionary, but might be a bit technical. And frankly, I wouldn’t be totally against Cleansing Ire triggering on wiffed hits on general, as long as it made some sort of contact (blocked/evaded/blinded) but that opens a whole other can of worms that I’m not entirely sure I want to see opened.

Oh and Necro has to have “bad” survivability considering Necro can 100-0 people with no effort in a team setting. Even though having two life bars, plague form instant cast, and teleports is extreme survivability as is.

Why should Necro be buffed just because you can’t make it work with YOUR team or in solo que?

Necro isn’t hard to play and is stupidly effective once you understand why they aren’t changing stuff. Why ask for more buffs on Necro?

You should post some videos of you playing necro.

+1 Would like to see, regardless if he puts us to shame or just proves his ignorance, either way I’d love it.

It’s one of the few things drawing me back in. :P

I miss being a noteable MM. Dagger/Wh + GS sounds fantastic. Only sad 2v2 and 3v3s arent s thing yet. I love death matches and frankly am not a fan of trying to gather 4 people to play (and that mix well). Would much rather a 2v2 setting. Plus from experience in winning in a 2v2 tourney, it’s such a fun style in this game, but I digress…

Not more than currently of any significance.

You realized traits act as 3 bars with primal burr skills right? With a 4.5’second cooldown you can primal, and primal again right before you swap and immediately use the second weapon’s primal and again just before you swap again. This is 4 bursts in a 10 second window and 12 conditions removes with CI in a 10 second window.

You can’t hit that with a standard Warrior, so yea, it’s meaningful.

Just a simple suggestion, I never understood why NO ONE in an mmo has never tried, if reskinning IS something that has to happen some time, instead of reskinning one whole set, why not make a new set from pieces here and there? People already like to mix it up a bit and put pieces together, why can’t devs be a little creative and use a mix of skins to make a whole new full-set if reskinning is what you plan on doing. There’s plenty of options of stuff that goes really well together.

(Whether or not it should happen is NOT this discussion, this is purely if, so please leave that discussion out of here)

We’re aware of the community desire for these sort of arenas, but at this time we do not want to fragment the player base by having more than two arenas at a time.

But think about the potential income of PVPers! We could take part of the population from WoW’s arena base who would love this type of freedom and skipping the leveling process. And bring back old GW2 players and convert at least some PVErs. I thinks a bit short sighted to just think it’d be fracturing the player base, when in reality you could just be growing it. Bringing in more players and ex players could do wonders for both arena AND conquest populations at once.

Taken a more pro-active approach to balancing.
It doesn’t take long for the dust to settle. I’d take a slightly more pro-active approach to balancing making small changes much faster to keep classes closer together faster. Of course it takes time to discover all “over powered” builds, but this approach not only would allow quicker balancing, each balance would be less dramatic, and would promote looking for other options. So instead of “waiting for someone to discover alternatives rather than playing the 1 proven-to-work build”, in a sense we’d try to give incentive to try other things by making sure nothing is the absolute way-to-go.

That’s all, that’s for reading. Sorry it’s so long. Again, remember these are my opinions, so please respect my right to have my own opinions, even if you disagree.

The new ones are much better.

Completely missing the point. Sure, the old ones needed a tiny breath of life into them to make them less stiff, sure. But they turned them into wings with hair physics. It looks ridiculous. That large of wings would be at least a little stuff. Some swish and movement to them was greatly accepted, but~ too far. It’s simply too much. Your wings bend backwards and wrap you up like a towel if you turn around. That’s not how things work. x.X

The underlying system of combat is built around area attacks. This is why the majority of base weapon attacks strike multiple targets in the affected area, unlike other games which strike one target – the one you have selected. Our system makes things like positioning and facing far more important and engaging; this also means that the concept of ‘AoE’ is not as easy to distinguish and thus handle in different ways.

That said, we are currently looking at systemic ways to help with player pet and minion survivability.

Figured it might be worth bringing over here for our MM lovers. He specifically noted ‘minions’, so I’m assuming he’s generalizing non-ranger pets, but that should include us. Hype?

Weapon Swap Sigils

TBH, i don’t like it.

Let’s look at other classes, like ranger, guardian, they simply swap and they know the sigils will be off CD, and just use the weapon for the sigils or procs they want.

Warrior, still the same thing. just use the weapon for the sigils or procs they want.

Ele and Engi, they only have one set of sigils, so you only need to time the cooldowns and you will know when it’s ready and have it’s use..

But with revenant procing the sigils with both, i feel like it’s gonna be messy and forced random procs and wasted procs will be all over the place.

It won’t be messy. Your off-set will always be ready whenever you want to swap weapons since your legend will never interfere with that.

The only thing you need to know is when your weapon swap is <1 second left on cooldown,‘you can use your Legend swap for your current weapon’s sigils again. Then every time your legend is up again while you remain in that set, it’ll reset your sigils. It’s actually very intuitive if you think about what’s actually going on. Your other set will always be ready when you swap to it. It’s amazing if you ask me.

Specializations and unique stats

So, as we know with the new specializations system stat bonuses are being removed from traitlines. To compensate this, base stats will be raised and equipment will provide higher bonuses.

Now, I have a question, what about class specific stats, the ones assigned to the fifth traitline? Will still be possible to increase those stats somehow, like for instance Empathy for Ranger or Cunning for Thief?

All class specifics were split, 50% baseline and 50% in the minors in the same tree.

It’s a fine name honestly. Anything bland such as “Paragon” has no imagination attached to it.

Personally I much prefer “bland”, symbolic and to the point over cliche, personally.

For some reason, Dragonhunter reminds me of like 13 year olds in WoW with character names of like Sephirothlol, XxDragonslayerxX, LegolasX. Stuff like that. Very cringe worthy. x.x

The facts: The players need know how to count enemys dodges and CD’s, this split noobs from ‘pro’ players and makes the game more fun to be learned.

You… CAn’t… DO THAT. kitten , why are people saying the same thing that’s false OVER AND OVER.

YOU CANNOT TELL IF AN ENEMY HAS ENERGY SIGILS.
YOU CANNOT TELL IF AN ENEMY HAS ENDURANCE REGEN TRAITS.
YOU CANNOT COUNT THAT ON FIRST SIGHT.

It’s not streamline nor is all information always displayed so stop making this pro-bullkitten comment. I’ve played in the top 200, and even top 50, I know what the hell I’m talking about. No, waiting for 2 dodges isn’t hard, but not having enough information absolutely leads to spamming everything on CD because there’s no telling 100% that anything will land so saving CDs becomes less optimal and it promotes spamming at all times rather than bait and push tactics.

Hammer
Hammer is frustrating for me. I want to love it, and I almost kind of do… The auto attack visual is just boring… why not swing waves of mist or something?! It could have been so much more than it is. Beyond that, not very impactful. Doesn’t hold up to other ranged power weapons, honestly and is way too slow. Hammer 2 seems okay could use a 1/2 cast and a slightly faster point-to-point impact speed, as it’s very easy to miss at range (when it’s actually even strong enough to use). Hammer 3 is strange to use, and doesn’t feel worth it. It’s slow in just about every way and adds very little benefit to using it. Hammer 4 is good, honestly. It has a solid uptime, at least. Could definitely use a lower cast time and some sort of benefit to using it against melee attackers where hammer suffers greatly, right now. Hammer 5… A ground targeted cast that takes 2 seconds to cast… I just can’t, it’s so bad… It might be okay in WvW, I guess? But overall it’s just really really bad in terms of cast time. It just not necessary for a weapon with no swaps to be this slow and unimpactful.

Legends
Note: I don’t enjoy swapping to 50%. I understand it might feel like a good choice, but ultimately, in the heat of battle, more than a starting point, it feels like an Energy cap of 50, not 100, as using energy on weapons skills AND utilities rarely leaves lots of leniency other than when you’re fleeing while in combat still, which is about the only time I felt myself inching toward 100 energy. (Aka, not actually fighting, just in combat.) It feels bad to swap into certain legends and instantly be locked of all skills after using one move.

Mallyx
Mallyx is interesting, but incredibly trait-dependant. You basically can’t use it without the Demonic Defiance trait. Why would you? It’s practically the best (/one of the few) perks of even being a revenant right now… Fun heal, long cooldown, decent synergy with the skills though. Pain absorption is okay, good group utility, but loses steam in smaller fights, where other skills take priority and resistance from other utilities holds up just fine, long cast time. Banish Enchantment is amazing, would push for 1 less vulnerability on the self, but overall, great. Unyielding Anguish, I just love it so much, but I know it will get nerfed into oblivion one day. I’ll enjoy it while I can. The skill itself, not that impactful and self-crippling isn’t fun at all, but man, that displacement is AMAZING utility. and only way I can survive melee right now. Too bad my dps is all melee, too! Embrace the Darkness elite, could be okay. Should pulse a bit faster and ready up faster. Currently only copies 1 stack of conditions on you, not sure if intended but it leaves much to be desired.

Jalis
Jalis seems okay. Suffers a lot from the “can’t change utilities” syndrome. The heal is great but the cooldown is far too long. Inspiring Reinforcement is pretty good. I have to start many fights off with it so I can even move for a second, so that’s good. Forced Engagement frustrates me. I want to love it, but I can’t, it’s too often avoided, you lose so much energy that most times it literally just screws you over to use it. It’s too slow to use as a real interrupt reaction-wise, leaves much to be desired. Vengeful Hammers, I really really really dislike this skill. It’s so boring, ruins energy, and generally useless for the most part. Rite of the Great Dwarf, the cast time? Give it a cooldown, stop the PVE exploitability of the skill and make it useful in real encounters, PLEASE… It’s frustrating.

Ventari
I don’t know what to say here, anything I say will be controversial. People like leaving it behind, people want to bring it where-ever it is, people are so torn here, as am I. The closest thing I could say to fix it, is make it auto-summon on entrance and follow the revenant, move Natural Harmony (burst heal utility) to the actual healing skill and add a new skill in it’s place. Finally, have all skills be “ground targetted” and have the tablet teleport to the place chosen when activating, then return to the revenant after it is casted. This would allow the pulse heals and traits to be useful, and give the best control over it’s utility locations that I could think of. Additionally, increase the impact ranges from 240 to 360 radius (except projectile block bubble) (Note: By follow, I mean be practically attached to the character, so it has no pathing issues, not a “roaming follow”.)

2v2 Annihilation, Why Not?

It doesn’t matter. If they ever do add it, it’ll be all “ArenaNetted” up… Like skyhammer or courtyard with like 100 bounce pads, glass panels, 90% LoS and no flat terrain. and thieves will be able to teleport from the center of the field to a spot that would otherwise take 3 minutes to get to. Its how they do “creative”.

a medium sized ring, with two opposite gates and a few columns (for LOS, to avoid duel lich, duel power ranger etc) is all ya need. a simple space to let the combat shine, with just enough terrain to make it interesting.

it’s not like it’s 20v20 GvG, it’s not that hard to implement.

Of course that’s all it needs. I’m not saying whats practical. I’m saying IF they did it, what they’d do. Then be like “SEE?! Its not even popular!” Whomp…

I really hope PoI steps up its game this week, I was really hoping we would get a Ready Up preview with how awful the PoI one was in comparison. W/e though, we’ll finally know if we’re getting shouts or spirits or something else, and if it really is Marjory’s GS AA animation so I know how many people I have to say “I told you so” to.

You have got to be kidding me… O.o

Funny to see you defending something….is it got to do with the fact that you play a necro?

Has to do with the fact that Base Necro is just as tanky, if not more tanky as it has more boon conversions (turning might into weakness), weakness in general, condition removal/transfer, and isn’t forced into melee. Nothing about the reaper is close to a D/D ele and Reaper are forced into Soul Reaping because that’s where every bit of their life force comes from.

I’m all for give and take, but Reaper has quite a few issues (diversity being a huge one), and in most cases is actually not tanky enough to constitute being basically 100% melee (outside of staff’s terrible damage).

Just letting people know they’re misinformed, but feel free to try it, and especially try something that isn’t SRS Reaper (Soul Reaping Spite), and let me know how much you feel like a D/D ele.

I mailed Gee about that. I really wish VP degeneration rate was baseline. It alone makes build diversity really hard. The rest of the tree is give or take no big deal, still good but not mandatory, but VP in pvp is so hard to not run.

You know what they should do, honest? They should merge Chilling Darkness into “Shivers of Dread” and make it:

Blinds and Fears cause Chill. 2 seconds. 4 sec ICD per target.

With the changes to reaper shroud, this would be more beneficial than what it does now, frankly. Maybe 5 sec ICD, but either way. Belongs together.

This feature was alive and well back in Shadowbane. I was surprised it wasn’t in GW2. I made this suggestion shortly after release. It’s a no brainer.

^ Please keep this up near the top so they can see this. Should definitely happen. Reduces clunkiness across the entire game for every class, very good change.

Reaper GS/Staff

I plan on running GS/Staff on my Death Magic/Soul Reaping/Reaper MM build. This gives access to both greater marks and Soul Marks. With reaper that means there are 2 chills on Staff, one being fairly lengthy on only a 16 sec CD, and a very wide area. Plus it gives us some ranged LF Regen and soft CC to allow us to get into range that we would otherwise not have.
