Guardians of the Vault [GotV] and Guíld of Dívíne Soldíers [GoDS]
Gate of Madness server
Guys, you are so mean! You should be locked along with Mad King’s son.
Let’s throw four complainers into the Mystic Toilet and see what happens.
This must be a teaser to the flying bunnies that Gaile Gray promised would definitely be in the next update.
Oh my I cannot wait for Halloween, Best times in Gw1 and Gw2 so excited.
Sariel, thanks to Glicko randomization, that’s not strictly true. There will certainly be periods of weeks at a time that the server doesn’t change colors, but patience and persistence will pay off, even on the last-ranked server.
Edit: if you want to see this for last-place NA, Anvil Rock: http://mos.millenium.org/servers/history/47
I’ll post their color week-by-week starting now and going backward…
Red, Blue, Blue, Blue, Red, Green, Green, Blue, Blue, Red, Red, Blue, Blue, Green, Red…
There’s a substantial amount of bounce there, so it’s really just a matter of keeping your eyes on the map and allowing yourself a month or two in order to get everything.

lol stop clicking? never seen someone complain about this.
@OP, if it helps your friend, let him know the person whispered because if he tried saying that in regular map chat he’d more than likely get put in his place for it. Individuals that this person whom whispered your friend is why WvW as a game mode continues to spiral downward.
There’s plenty of beneficial things a player can do in WvW on an up level. Though as mentioned, you friend could possibly enjoy EotM more and level faster too.
I am actually opting for one idea out of Scarlet`s reportoir… shocking I know, but what about… just listen… think about it… Dolyak with Jetpacks wooooshhhhh
I don’t mind people watching cutscenes, but I can understand why veteran players might find it a waste of time. To get around it, I’d just specify up-front in your LFG that you will be watching cutscenes.
I don’t know how long the sales will be, but I have a possible solution.
With the ability to gift gem store items, you could always set it up with a friend who plays to gift you things and you can gift them things in return or the gold equivalent. That way you don’t miss out. When traveling if you can still get online, dulfy is pretty good about putting up screenshots and videos of new gw2 stuff so you’ll know if you want it. Then it’s just a quick email to the friend to ask them to buy it and gift it. :-)
The sentry is a hint at where enemy players are moving. Since the average zerger can’t resist capping that circle, watching where the flags fade on the map can give a defender an idea as to where the enemy group might be headed (before the white swords of doom pop). They aren’t supposed to be tough to take objectives, they can kill yaks in combination with the krait/ascalonian/etc mob spawns, and right now they serve their purpose as a sentry: revealing where enemy players are.
This is what I think would happen.
1. unless it had a reward it would be ignored
2. guilds members would become hostile towards other guilds and pugs
3. large guilds would try to cannibalize smaller guilds and attempt to claim entire servers.
4. After awhile it would always be the same guilds at the top each week.
So all in all I’m not a fan of the idea.
Tripped, faceplanted, and broke your neck.
Working as intended.
Just because the mood strikes me….
I will happily kill my last dragon when I am a ripe old age and in a nursing home. Then I’ll ask my grandkids to remind me why I’m so excited.
Guild Wars is not a game about chasing the gear treadmill, no. There’s actually a lot of us who bought this game PRECISELY because of that reason. Keep in mind that originally, Exotic was meant to be the highest stat tier; we were already quite upset by the introduction of Ascended gear, which was likely put in as a compromise to players like you who do like chasing higher stats.

Here are the policies:
We don’t monitor names.
When reported; we review a name manually and as a team.
If it violates policy we change it. We don’t care about how often it’s reported – that has no weight in our decision.
If it is offensive in ANY territory our game is supported – we change it.
Example: Pallet is offensive in a European country but is fine here in the states. (Though why you’d want to be a pile of wood is beyond me.)
You have the right to appeal our decision and explain your viewpoint via submitting a support ticket. We will not weigh in on the forums.
If you repeatedly use offensive names your account will be suspended.
I see that your ticket was filed through our support system at 7:24 PM PDT yesterday and this forum thread was created 9 minutes later at 7:33 PM PDT. An agent replied to your ticket at 8:12 PM PDT. Please allow agents adequate time to respond to your ticket before posting on the forums. Tickets are answered in the order in which they were received.
The wings were likely removed because we have backpieces in GW2, and they would cause clipping with worn backpieces (and stuff like Engineer Kits).
Don’t get me wrong; I miss the wings too, but I can understand why it was done.
But it would be really, REALLY nice if the Halloween 2014 special meta-skin was a pair of black wings backpiece. Hint hint, ANet!

The leaderboards are currently ranked by your Glicko2 matchmaking rating (MMR) which is hidden.
How much your ranking changes depends on a few things.
How does matchmaking work?
Right now the algorithm is incredibly simple. (Read: not intelligent)

You’re assuming zergs are mindless. This is a pretty bad asumption to make.
Because WvW is part of the game too, there zerker isn’t that good and nomad have its use.
Is this related to inactivity? I only seem to have actual connectivity issues rarely – perhaps 3-4 times over the course of me playing GW2.
The only times that I get “you have lost connection” is when I’m standing around, not moving and not casting skills. Typing doesn’t count as activity.
IF you are doing these things – or rather doing nothing – then I think it’s completely justifiable that you lose your spot, as the game is realizing you are not contributing to the map.
If, however, you are moving and having disconnect issues that are happening frequently enough for this to be an ongoing issue for you, you should send a ticket into anet and start investigating packet loss.
I see your point about bach. I just hope new people who pick up an instrument from the gemstore don’t just think it is alright to macro any song since I’m sure it is the same thing as using a bot.
Honestly, I’m not sure, but I’m going to ask Customer Support about it. The fact is, we have a policy against automating gameplay through the use of macros or bots. But music? I just don’t know if the rules about third-party programs extend to non-game-related situations.
There isn’t a high enough reward that would stop people from asking for more rewards. Ever.
The community cries out for more elaborate encounters, we get them, the community does not really do them because it’s not rewarding. But nobody can actually describe what “more rewarding” would be. More gold? TA aetherpath exclusive skins that drop more often? If they drop more often, they become less exclusive, their prices will plummet, suddenly the path won’t be rewarding anymore.
The beautiful thing about map completion is, you can choose to do it or not. You don’t feel forced to do it and like you pointed out, apart from legendaries there is no need for it.
The “Tournament of Glory” event in the top right can actually be clicked and takes you to the stream. I’ll do a better job of making that more clear the next time I get a batch of these implemented. All in all, I think it was a great start and a great test for the system.
The “yellow text” system alert is not something we want to use for these events, as those are broadcasted across the entire game, regardless of if you’re in a dungeon, doing living world, or whatnot. We want it to be as noninvasive as possible. Someone mentioned having an NPC in the Heart of the Mists that shouts upcoming events, and I think it’s an interesting idea. I’ll bring it up with the team.
Thanks for the feedback, I’m definitely listening.
Grouch, great job so far and hope they listen to you to improve pvp even further.
Now, a suggestion.
Thats it simple , its ingame and already well used.
Im a pvper and i didnt know what icon took you directly to stream if u clicked it ingame. So the mail could be a notifier a day before, that just circles the icon – like scouts in PVE show u where to go.
I think that wouldnt be invasive to anyone and while making it easier to find the stream for those interested. A pvp tournament finals are once every 3 months , while a pvp only player may get PVE living story mail every 2 weeks just saying

Bit late to give us any such news before November last year.
(Yes, I know…couldn’t help myself)
Was going to do the same.
