..and got 1 GREEN item out of each aether chest. Lol.
Why would I go through that much hassle again for such crap rewards?
My heart just got all warm now. I’ve been selling key parts for the last 3 days. The price was ranging from 21 s to 7 s. I sold like 50.
Ah… feels so good that some people will never learn and/or will want everything at day one! Keep at it my herd!
Ps.: Diablo3 failed for many other reasons btw. Mainly because it sucked hard But that’s another topic.

20k points behind 12 hours ago, now less than 10k. If tonight goes like last night JQ will tie it up in ~14 more hours and then it’s all over.
XD : Sorry you have to start all over again from another 20k gap now.
Much love.
He isn’t even on JQ LOL
Yeah, every other match this week is a completely boring roflstomp, so everyone is invading your thread this week out of boredom.
The only thing that has compared in entertainment value for this week is the troll recruitment post by Duke on Mags; that half the universe fell for and continue to fall for.
Or you just want to see BG burn like every bitter SoS citizen. It’s not the drama, but rather which guild the drama surrounds. You are so obviously bitter about MERC leaving your server and you don’t even make an attempt to hide it. Your post history would back me up.
SoS guilds and members went to all three T1 servers, and even some went to TC.
I want to see you all burn.
j/k
I don’t wish any ill will on anyone, but as I said before; I’m amazed that anyone is still surprised by stacking.
SoS wasn’t the first server to visit T1 for a while and drop out. HoD, ET, IoJ, and SBI all went through the same experience. Each time the members of those servers went and moved to the server that they believed would be the next big thing.
What I find amusing is the same people who skip servers, like they have OCD, are harrumphing this as much as possible.
There’s the accusations, the recriminations and character assassinations, the downplaying of it, the counter-accusations, etc.
What no one wants to deal with, is that every guild move is the direct result of the actions of others. Other personalities on the server annoy them, certain attitudes on that server, or even things other people have done to that server in the past continue to reverberate for weeks or even months.
KN is still reeling from WM’s spur of the minute decision to move there, then move off just as quickly.
DB took months to recover from all the guilds that moved off due to the bad attitudes that populated there at start.
A guy from CD and I were mentioning in our own thread that CD took extensive long term damage due to a massive troll guild and it’s immature leaders.
Either way, it’s all up to BG if the removal of MERC is going to break them or not. Either way, I wish the best to BG’s members.
I like KH. Solid players and guild. I ran into them a lot the last time we faced TC as I also play late PST and they always impressed me.
Obviously. You have to pay them in spice.
See attached.

I don’t know how TC is following and hitting cloaked thieves/mesmers but I’m calling you out on it.
Don’t be predictable and you won’t eat a faceful of ouch.
Tarnished Coast
I love EP, I have no idea what this Dugald guy is saying or can’t seem to find any of the posts he wrote. So the convo is kinda strayed there. In fact there are not many guilds on TC i don’t like. All pretty cool relaxed dudes and dudettes
And to the SEA teams, we love ya too.
Everyone should stop generalizing and provide point blank facts and proof, or shut the hell up, woot.
Yep I said that to you. FYI … had a blast in EB early night last night in SMC with the holes in outer wall with SoR. Then later in SoS BL. So much fun last 2 days.

It’s always amazed me, that, irregardless of the server, that people always complain about blobbing and zerging…yet then they hop in the next blob or zerg they see.
I’ve seen very few roamers, on any server. While in TCBL last night, I only really saw 1 roaming group that was a party of 4 that keep Shadow Refuging and running back the moment they saw someone.
No server HAS to blob, or HAS to zerg. That is something that servers have chosen to do because its easy, doesn’t require a lot of thought on behalf of the zerglings, and gets them lots of loot. It’s not like if you play with 10 people an anet dev team swoops in and strikes your group down with lightning…When TC is fighting lower teired server, there is A LOT more small group stuff going (though admittingly there is still some zerging). However, when facing SoR recently, its hard to do small group roaming when you run around kitten people, and come face to face with 50 people smashing into you fairly often. That kind of stuff turned the fights into blob on blobs fights. But, no one should be naive to think that the blob v blob fights are being forced. It’s a mentality which people have slipped inot because it’s “favored” and therefore EASIER.
When I ran with [KH] on TC, who are some of the most skilled small group players I know, they made decisions to NOT run with any zerg that is around. Instead, they chose to look for fights as a small group, even if against a larger force, and it was REALLY fun!
I hope, very much so, that with the new BL maps they’re putting out all the zerging and blobs will go away, especially when they get rid of WP’s which only encourages zerging. Add in the smaller capture points, more terrain, etc I hope that smaller tactical groups (5-15) become favored.
Anyways, tl;dr: Everyone should stop whining about blobs. Most servers do it. It’s a choice made up in the match up, most of the time by the highest ranked server. If you don’t want to zerg, don’t. (TC guilds found it very useful to run tagless so they could run in their groups without attractive militia zergs). Bottom line: don’t whine about blbos, then blob. Don’t say you don’t blob, then blob.

They become lab safety statistics.
I think TC’s reputation as recruiting to push into T1 is totally uncalled for. TC’s recruiting push to me was more about never losing. Yes, those type of people/guilds transfered to TC. People that want to win but rarely have to matchup with somebody higher ranked with themselves. Those looking for an easier wvw experience.
The tears coming from this type of post used to be delicious awhile ago – now they are just stale…
If I wanted to bite, I would say that whatever server your kind self is from is certainly giving us an “easier” wvw experience… but that would be too easy, eh.
Every server below you gives you an easier wvw experience. That’s what the recruiting was for. When matched up with servers closer to your population and coverage (T1 servers are closer than T2 servers) those T1 servers get an easier wvw as well.
Actually, when we started facing T1 servers and losing, a lot of the people active were transfer guilds…they didn’t just disappear.
We recruit for the same reason every server recruits…we want to have more people! It’s not about winning, or losing. Some of the people who have transferred have become some of the people I play in game with most!!
Maybe, instead of a saying we recruiting a bunch of people who just want an easy win, you should ask why they didn’t go to your server? TC has never, as far as I’ve known (and I’ve been around TC for a long long time), BOUGHT guilds, nor have we ever offered gold for them to come. Frankly, we wouldn’t really like those people. What happens? Well, people guest to TC to see how it is, and is faced with a really fun, totally diverse population. There’s something for everyone here, with very little judging. We’re a friendly server, and we love to have fun! At least, those are the biggest reasons I’ve heard from people who have transfered here. If they wanted to stack a server to win in T2, they could have gone to any of the T2 servers, but they came to TC, without bribes…well, except bribes of yummy noms!
I for one am so glad TC has gotten all the transfers. There are many fantastic people I have gotten to know from them transfering! Win or lose, it doesn’t matter. However, we have so much fun regardless! (Even during T1 when we were outmatched we were still doing the fun silly stuff!)

Every class can do the gauntlet but not every spec in the class can. One may have a preferred play style or build but you the play need to realize that it may not work for all things. It not the class or anet that failed you. It’s the player that refuses to at minimum to became proficient in the builds available; that failed the class.
As fakitten ts go my pet was alive a dealing damage on each of my boss kills including Liadri. As a ranger it’s easier to have you pet hold agro if you use the long bow. Hunters shot stealth’s you and if your pet deal damage to mob while your stealth mobs normally aggros onto your pet.
everyone should fear becoming mentally clouded and obsessed with one small section of truth.
What Challenging Is Not:
Challenging Is Not forcing players to respawn at a waypoint that costs money in order to play a minigame.
For that matter, Challenging Is Not forcing players to respawn after a failed match at all. It would be super easy to have the time limit just boot players out, and have death do the same (take Southsun Survival, Belcher’s Bluff, Aspect Arena, and other such minigames as examples). Player death is not a necessity for a Challenge, and in this case, it seriously dampens the fun of the content at hand.
Challenging Is Not doing the previous, and then having a dynamic event that blocks the pathways to the Queen’s Gauntlet with very difficult enemies that can easily take you out.
Challenging Is Not giving armor damage for a failed Gauntlet match. Can you imagine if armor damage applied to Belcher’s Bluff, the Keg minigame, Southsun Survival, the Aspect Arena, and other minigames?
Challenging Is Not requiring tickets to play, and then making them cost a boat-load of money (for players of average and moderate means) to purchase in small quantities, or making them requiring farming and grinding. These are for a minigame – they’re not specific grindy titles or pets here. And while Liadri is indeed a pet, that’s only because she’s so dang tough, and thus beating her warrants a reward of some sort for the continued persistence required to do so.
Challenging Is Not allowing awful camera angles to interfere with gameplay.
Challenging Is Not having a queue for a minigame. This wastes time that could be spent playing the minigame at hand. Furthermore, there have been times when I’ve shown a team player spirit by resurrecting people who have fallen, and by necessity (when it was just me and that one person) not queueing myself for a new match while I resurrected said player, and then in the middle of the resurrection, someone runs up, queues, and takes the turn that should have been mine. Or, I finish resurrecting someone, and before I can react, they pop up and immediately queue for a match, again taking the spot that should have been mine.
And as a side note, for the people who enjoy watching, an observation mode would have provided the same benefits without wasting the time of the people who want to take on the Gauntlet but don’t have much available free time (like myself).
Challenging Is Not putting a time and movement critical minigame in the same instance as another gameplay aspect that results in incredibly lag-causing zergs. Queen’s Gauntlet should have ALWAYS, both in conceptual creation and actual development, been tried, tested, and released in its own instance. With something so sensitive, a separate instance is an absolute necessity.
Challenging Is Not allowing dozens of bugs work their way into the “finished” product, and then not fixing them as soon as you could – or at least responding that the bugs will be addressed (I’ve scanned the Dev Tracker for this, only to be very disappointed). This is actually more of a quality-issue deal than a Challenge vs Punishment deal, but it still holds true. Given the quality that usually comes from ArenaNet, I would have rather had the whole Queen’s party event delayed and the Pirate event continued until the bugs were ironed out, than had the awfully buggy mess that the Gauntlet currently is.
These (and more that I can’t think of at the moment) are not Challenging, they’re Punishing. Punishing is not Fun, it is not Challenging, it is not enjoyable – it is complete Frustration (and in the case of less patient players, it is rage/rage-quit inducing). And right now, Queen’s Gauntlet is mainly not Fun, nor is it mainly Challenging – it is mostly Frustrating, painful Punishment.
ArenaNet, I know what you’re capable of and I know that you have great plans for the future.
So please take the time to fix this – as for me, I’m going to go do some other things for a week (maybe some PVE, maybe some SWTOR, maybe some more Star Citizen forum surfing) and then come back and see if Queen’s Gauntlet is less Punishing and more Challenging/Fun.
(edited by yearsonehundred.6139)
So I’ve tracked GW2 back since the earliest days of its announced development (which was some time in March 2007, I think), and one thing that always stuck out to me was the idea that it would be built around the concept of “Fun”. Fun was the drive behind the game – if something wasn’t deemed Fun, then it would be revised or eliminated. Now, I know that something can be Challenging and Fun at the same time, and sometimes, there even needs to be Frustration for the Fun to happen.
An example of this, in my opinion, was found in the learning curve behind the Southsun Survival minigame. I came into the update late, so when I’d first play, I’d get one-shotted right off the bat. And this happened again and again and again, and it was very Frustrating. But I stuck with it, and several hours later, I was able to consistently place top in my games, even if I wasn’t winning first place. In this case, it was immensely Frustrating, but because I kept with it and pushed past the Frustrating, it became Fun. If it had been easy right at the get-go, I wouldn’t have had as much Fun when I finally got it.
With the Queen’s Gauntlet, I have beaten Liadri (proper gear and condition application are key) and gotten the Meatless Murder achievement – Liadri took over 300 attempts, so I have spent a great deal of time playing the Gauntlet and I would say that I know what I’m talking about (given that I’ve spent over 20-30 hours alone on Liadri). And with Liadri, it really highly emphasized, in my mind, that Queen’s Gauntlet isn’t Challenging, almost at all. Instead, it’s mostly Punishing. So I’d like to quickly outline what I mean by that – by defining what Challenging Is and Is Not.
What Challenging Is:
Challenging Is having something difficult that can be overcome by persistence and a learning attitude.
Challenging Is having a bar set high and having people need to reach that bar.
Challenging Is introducing new concepts and difficulties that people need to adapt to in order to survive and prosper.
Challenging, in the case of Queen’s Gauntlet, Is having 3 tiers of increasingly difficult bosses that each require different strategies to beat. And for that depth of Challenge, I applaud you, ArenaNet.

They don’t Procreate. Sylvari are grown in pods by the Pale tree.
as for ‘mating’ one assumes that if they did that some sort of sap would be present.
But noting that it’s largely irrelevant to the average sylvari whether thier ‘partner’ is male or female, I would suggest that they dont… mate. not physically anyway. more emotional bonding.
…or at least “bad at Frizz”. I’ve really enjoyed this dungeon and have played it a lot, but after reading forums and finishing with 3 or 4 dead teammates enough times, I thought I’d draft a guide. Most people have not spent time breaking the mechanics down and this is temporary content, so I think Frizz is getting a bad wrap. Here’s my tips for how to do this fight; please don’t hesitate to add your own.
- Always stay moving (don’t laze around on boxes, more below). – “Golems pulled me into the lasers.” “Golems are always immune to damage.” Both of these are (usually) products of the player standing around on boxes when they shouldn’t be. By moving you keep the golems moving, they get less electricity, and you get more time to kill them. Players should get used to moving in phase one.
- Stay far ahead of the large wall behind you – Now that we’re running ahead of the golems and they are following us, make sure we’ve got a good lead on that back wall. I like to run as close to the wall in front of you as possible. This does a few things. It keeps you far away from the back wall…so if you get pulled, no big deal. More opportunity to turn around (or fire behind) and hit the golems.
- Try to stay in the “middle” of the room – Walls move slower at center but do more damage. The wall does damage over time. Slower Walls means more damage over time. Try to stick to the middle, cutting in only when you need to gain some speed (and even then consider dodging across). If you go down and have a skill that can move you, try to move further out to take less downed damage. Moving near a box helps as well because it makes it much easier for teammates to res when possible.
- Walls always spawn in the same place – “Walls spawned on top of me!” Easy to avoid. When you initially see Frizz go to the center, get on a box. Walls avoided. At the start of phase 2 the big walls go across the room and end up at the door where you come in. So very easy to avoid. Before phase 3, stand on a box until the little ones spawn again so you don’t get hit.
- Jump over little walls – Bunny hop onto the top of boxes, then immediately turn around and jump way over the little wall. This does a couple of things. First, this will give you far more leeway for when you don’t quite make it high enough on the boxes. Secondly, this will prevent you from getting pulled into the lightning, as you will be pulled over it. Between “stay moving” and “jump the walls”, these little guys pose very little threat. You should never be sitting around on boxes for more than a brief moment, other than when you’re waiting for a phase to begin.
- Play Phase 3 is exactly like Phase 2. With little hops – Put big, slow walls up and no one complains but add tiny ones and everybody loses their minds! <joker.jpg> Next time you are in Phase 2 (big walls only), just look at them. Big, slow, harmless things. Play phase 3 exactly like that. All you have to do is slowly move around the room in tandem with the large walls while ocassionaly bunny hop over the walls as described above and you will have great success. Sure the golems will be immune a bit more here due to the little lasers, but it’s very doable if you keep your cool.
- Make sure people know what they’re doing – Last tip is that unless you are “I wanna be the guy” good, it’s pretty tough to do phase 3 by yourself. Be encouraging to teammates, help them understand the mechanics of the fight, and things will go better for you as well. Maybe ask they take 5 minutes reading this guide, as that’s a lot faster than wiping 15×.
If there’s any questions, tips, or something I could explain better…please let me know.
Final thoughts – this fight is far from “impossible” and I for one would love to see more dungeons with interesting mechanics. I feel mass crying on the forums does little but discourage ANet from doing stuff that requires a little thought or skill. (See: dungeon overhaul/AC). Is that what we really want?
Like I tell my sons, it doesn’t matter who started it. Who is going to end it?
A Moderator?
Screw it I’ll just write one.
@SoS:
Sorry we are not coming out guys to fight guys. We are tired from these past two weeks. We won but we burnt out on it. Wish our reunion wasn’t so terribly timed. Maybe we’ll see you next week.
@CD:
TC is going to win because of coverage yeah. Should they be pounding us this badly no.
Except for rare occasions 40 of us are consistently melting under their organized 20. You know why TC is destroying us when we meet them on the field?
Because they care about what armor and runes they are wearing. We do not. Why is berserker gear in WvW the norm? When did this become a good idea. Especially given how easy it is to pick up a second set now with the WvW exotic armor vendor. Your CoF grinding gear and trait build makes you a free rally.
Because they care about what professions they bring and we do not. We have almost no necromancers and the ones we do have for some reason are running minions. Almost all of our eles are d/d. We have maybe 2 mesmers at any time and they don’t veil nor are they ever asked to. Why are they running moas as their elites? I cant tell you.
(That TC group that destroyed us in TC BL Hills on reset was like 10 guys. We were in the most easily defensible room in the map, they were outside, the Lord was down. We outnumbered them. I am not going to sit here and pretend like they are not built better than we are. We too could do that with 10 guys if we cared to build it.)
Because if you watch the way TC moves on a commander, it is obvious that they are on TS. Outside of organized planned pushes, it is hard to get CD into it. And then the separate guilds don’t want to get in the same channel. Do you know how difficult it is for the commander to write everything out in /t? Especially in the middle of a fight?
Because we’re useless without a commander. People log into a WvW map and if there is no commander, leave without bothering to ask on /m if something is going on.
Because for some reason we don’t include food in our build. I don’t know how many friendlies I see never using it. I go from target to target on an organized TC group and most had some consumable boons.
We make emo decisions. Sat morning you all abandoned EBG to come throw bodies at TC in CD BL bay. SoS took all of our stuff in EBG and TC methodically took all of our holdings in CD BL. Because of the coverage disparity EBG is the only map where we can hold our own. When we took our third of EBG back it was all freakin paper again.
We do not push, we only react and usually poorly. We run. When we run, they destroy us because we’re stringed out. Collect, turn around and fight guys. When we push as a group, we are stronger than when we spread out and let them focus us down.
We are easily broken. Our “big rallied push” to take back our garry on Saturday was not 50 but more like 60 of us. That humiliating wipe cleared us in seconds. Did we re-rally? No. That 20 RE or whatever group hit us like a freight train and destroyed us – get over it. Try again or elsewhere. Everyone fell apart after that.
And to answer the question I keep hearing in /m as to how TC seems to know where we are all the time on our BL, open up your map. Draw a large circle around Citadel. Then mark it with “<—— CD is here.”
It is not like I am giving away big secrets here. I am sure they can tell and that is why they are now throwing uplevels at us. 25 of us just got smashed by a naked roaming party of like 15.
We have server training and nobody shows up. If at this point you do not think we need it then maybe its that ego that is to blame as much as Anet’s screwy system.
We should be losing yeah but not this terribly.
I keep hearing from CDers that we have no interest in getting better. That would have flown before though that attitude lost us a lot of our best but going forward these matchups are going to happen. Unless Anet fixes this, this is what WvW we are going to see. If you want to continue to pretend that WvW is sPvP, you’ll need to transfer down a few notches. Are these mismatches ANet’s fault? Yeah. So get mad at them if you want to.
But we can either adapt, make the best of a bad situation, or we can sit here and pretend we are salvaging our pride by trolling the forums or whatever it is you guys think you are doing. When did we turn into Maguuma? For the small amount of WvWing you are doing you guys certainly are all over this thread.
Anyways I hope our conduct straightens up next time we are up against a real challenge after everyone is all rested up. We worked hard these two past weeks everyone, but we could also work smarter and the way that CD is representing itself on this forum is a joke. I’m definitely not coming back to these forums its painful to see what we’re painting ourselves as. SoS, cheers mates. You guys are putting on a much better show than we are. TC, I know we’re boring you to tears but it is at least a WvW break for you.

LOL.
All winning servers have players who have no skill and are just a horde.
I mean didnt everyone know that already?
Seriously, get over yourselves, nobody is really better or worse than each other and EVERYONE hides behind carts and ballistas (here’s looking at you Sos at umber 3 hours or so ago), it’s THE GAME.
Are your egos so brittle that “losing” actually means something?
What happened to having fun?
Hey guys, my name is Silven.
Here are my tPvP builds, I hope you enjoy. If you notice mistakes or have questions please post them below and I’ll answer as soon as I can!

Offensive
Triple Meditation Builds —
Natural Guardian defences through Renewed Focus, Shelter and High Vigor uptimes make high damage Guardian builds much less risky. Although Guardian has been able to do amazing damage since the start of the game it also requires knowing which skills to dodge and so the builds weren’t favourable for the majority of players. There aren’t too many builds that are highly effective either.
Pros:
- High DPS
- High Burst
- Strong Self Heals
- Strong 1v1
- Unexpected high damage
- High Vigor uptime
Cons:
- Weak to Conditions
- Rely on blocks to survive
- Low Support
Will Counter:
- Backpoint Assault (thieves, mesmers, DPS Guards, etc)
- Backpoint Counter-Assault (Burst Guards, thieves, etc)
- Certain Bunkers (by one-shotting them)
All-Star Burst (GS / Sw-Fc) – http://tinyurl.com/k2ehzxr (NEW UPDATED)
After the April Update this build has come completely from last position to first, the GS2 lands with rage sigils making it an AoE, undodgable machine. This will be your first meditation build and best in most situations. Optionals: Mc>Sw if playing against a thief assaulting your backpoint. Sc>Sw if your team lacks control.
Mace Burst (Mc-Tc / Sc-Fc) – http://tinyurl.com/laayrxt (UPDATED)
I’m done proving how amazingly strong the mace can burst (through the use of counter-initiates) so if you wish to know more about how it works watch my videos. This build is used now for shutting down Petting Zoo type players and just generally one-shotting other players. It’s also pretty much a direct hard counter to any thief build you can think of. Optionals: Sw>Mc if you seriously just can’t grasp the counter initiate concept.
Symbol DPS Builds — (THIS SECTION IS UNDERGOING A REWORK)
Symbol builds provide very high AoE DPS as well as high amounts small heals through the help of Healing Power. Because you get so many of these small heals you actual heal extremely fast. The symbols also provide a great deal of support for your allies. The symbols can crit over 1.2k per tick and it doesn’t matter which weapon you go because with the zerka amulet you’re going to hit 1k+ per auto-attack with any of them.
Pros:
- High DPS
- High AoE
- Strong AoE Heals
- Strong 1v1
- Can do decent Burst
Cons:
- High condition damage will break you
- Low Armour
- Weaker to burst/dps
Will Counter:
- Mesmer Shatter
- Guardian Bunker
- Engineer, decent against bombkit usually
- Thieves and Warriors
- Elementalist sustain (usually not burst though)
- Trap Rangers
Two Handed DPS (Hm / Staff) – http://tinyurl.com/kjhnvt5
The current, best DPS Guardian build. You have a lot of utility and damage, along with very high survivability and a ton of support in team fights. You are built for pretty much anything; point control, high dps, stomping, setting up plays, backpoint, far point assault. Never underestimate the amount of damage the staff deals out.
Defensive Support (St / Mc-Fc) – http://tinyurl.com/l4q5gxs NEW
Very High sustain with a lot of damage, strong against conditions in this meta. Makes a great use of the staff which has very consistent damage and defence. Sometimes considered a little bit too defensive and as such isn’t always as effective as the other builds, for example the less offence means that a Shatter Mesmer is stronger against you. I know I’ve had this up since the guide started but it’s always been strong =). Updated recently to include a consecration of your choice, purge or hallowed is generally the best.

To all the TC and SoS still out there in the trenches, I just want to say don’t give up. I mostly wvw during SEA time on SoR so I know the feeling of staring down a massive sea of red back when JQ was rolling all over us with FOO. We didn’t give up on that timeslot but simply came out to fight week after week. Sometimes we advance sometimes we’re just happy to hold what we can. No matter what, we represented.
Ignore those who simply give up after one battle and quit, thinking the odds are not worth the effort. I have greater respect for the ones who keep coming back not because they are sadists but for what I would like to believe to be their fighting spirit. You may argue that this is a game and nobody likes being wiped again and again but this is wvw, you’ve got to want to fight. You lose you go back, evaluate and then come back again. Not lose and then say kitten this and pve for the rest of the week.
Take this chance to observe your comrades and commanders, note those who stay and fight and those who log off or zone out after a wipe. When this is all over and the next opponent rolls around, ask the fellow wvwer next to you “Where were you when we faced the hordes of SoR?” If he says “Right beside you bro”, then congrats you’ve found a kindred warrior.
So after a long time of hating hardcore on thieves I have come to a conclusion. But lets get some background info first. My first class to 80 was Guardian, I play it as a tank. My second was Warrior set up for Solo Roaming in WvW. Warrior Has been my main ever since and have invested ~510g into gear, weapons, foods, buffs, etc. Warrior has been my favorite class after playing it and I do fairly well with the class. I rolled an engineer for farming and sPvP and it is amazing. Necro for wvw zerging. Mesmer for a little bit of everything. Then I rolled a thief.
For the longest time when I was playing a warrior I would complain “Oh these thieves are so kitten OP they give nothing up and get everything” “Stealth is OP” “Invisibiltiy>invulnerabilty” So after months of complaining I rolled a thief and now after getting decent at it I can say the following
1: Anyone who thinks Stealth is OP is a fool. You can still hit a thief and as most thieves are set up, it is probably going to do significant damage
2: Thieves are really good at killing players new to pvp and wvw who have no idea about stun breakers and dodging. Anyone with a decent level of experience can see what a thief is doing and can either run/counter.
3: Some builds you just can’t kill 1v1. Same goes for my warrior. I can run in very quickly . Sword/Shield +Gs and run out popping stunbreakers, endure pain and shield stance and get away with barely a dent in my 32k Health
4: A thief that drops you fast, drops even faster. What do most GC thieves have for health? 11k Health? With maybe 2100 armor. Can’t get more glassy.
5: Playing a thief really changes your outlook on how they operate. When everyone says Play one to Learn one, They really mean it. When I got to 80 on my thief and spent a hundred or so hours in WvW with it, I was able to get back to my warrior and I could SEE WITH MY OWN EYES exactly what the thief was going to do before they could. It was so predictable “Okay he is using D/D and just used Cloak and dagger, probably going for a backstab in 3,2,1… EVADE” What do you know, He missed and i stun locked him with a hammer.
I honestly feel silly for ever complaining about thieves. They are an annoyance at best for experiences players and really only kill people learning to get around WvW. So if you keep getting killed by thieves play one at level 80 for a few hours in WvW and see how hard it really is.

I love how we’ve mellowed out so much we’ve had to outsource our drama.
We seriously still going on about spawn camping. doesn’t everyone know there are three exits to every spawn… I have yet to see any server effectively spawn camp (which means cover all three exits)
Is it just that people don’t know of the three exits, or are single minded and see people at one and keep running out to die…
You know…this whole situation reminds me of that one time where DB and TC were fighting over FABL for days upon days to get stuff because it was easy to get. Then it happened to TC, and now it’s happening to DB. My point? If you’re stuff is easy to take, someone will take it.
It’s not 2v1, it’s being opportunistic.
What’s biscotti anyway? Toasted toast? I always thought someone found a way to sell stale but edible rock.
Biscotti is gross, that’s what it is.
It’s one of those things that is trying SO hard to be good, but just can’t quite manage.
I think it’s just dried out bread. You’re supposed to dip it in coffee or something?
Coffee is kind of gross as well, so it works.
How dare you insult the almighty coffee! Coffee is nearly as sacred as toast!!
Bless Coffee, O my soul,
and all that is within me,
bless its holy name.
Bless Coffee, O my soul,
and do not forget all its benefits—
which forgives all your iniquity,
which heals all your diseases,
which redeems your life from the Monday pits,
which crowns you with steadfast love and mercy,
which satisfies you with good as long as you live
so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.
Coffee works caffeination
and energy for all who are fatigued.
It made known its beans to Moses,
its effects to the people of Israel.
Coffee is aromatic and delicious,
slow to drink and abounding in steadfast flavor.
Coffee will not always taste fresh,
nor will it keep its hotness forever.
It does not deal with us according to our sins,
nor repay us according to our iniquities.
For as the heavens are high above the earth,
so great is its steadfast flavor towards those who taste it;
as far as the east is from the west,
so far it removes our sleepiness from us.
As a parent has compassion for their children after a morning cup,
so Coffee has compassion for those who taste it.
For it knows how we were made;
it remembers that we are dust.
As for gamers, their days are like grass;
they flourish like a flower of the field;
for the wind passes over it, and it is gone,
and its place knows it no more.
But the steadfast flavor of Coffee is from everlasting to everlasting
on those who taste it,
and its righteousness to students’ students,
to those who keep its covenant
and remember to do its commandments.
Coffee has established its throne in the kitchens,
and its kingdom rules over all.
Bless Coffee, O you its addicts,
you caffeinated ones who do its bidding,
obedient to its drunken taste.
Bless Coffee, all its grounds,
its baristas that do its will.
Bless Coffee, all its works,
in all places of its dominion.
Bless Coffee, O my soul.
