You assume too much . We already have duel bladed axes in the game so other than part of a pole arm class i dont see them implemented

Heavy classes are the most developed and diverse classes in the game and are generally easier and more useful than all other classes. So yeah, everyone rolls or rerolls one.
I take issue with this statement . I would hardly call the heavies the most diverse . Mesmer and Ele both beat them out easily
Is the survivability of a warrior/guardian wearing full berserker gear as bad as thief/ele (squishy classes) when doing PVE (dungeon and fractals) ?
Warriors have the highest base health and obviously good armor rating which makes them more durable . When you compare that to the ele or thief both of which have the lowest base health for their armor class the answer will always be no .

You’re right it is a time sink and its SUPPOSE to be one . Thats the whole point for ANET.As long as they keep a player doing things like leveling or gearing up their next alt they feel the need to keep playing the game .

D/D is pretty efficient at laying the smack down on things . You have to use your skills wisely as a thief though as they have the lowest base health in the medium armor class .

Personally i would go with things that have a blue or white tint to them like the Ghastly Greatsword or Jormags Breath

As far as quick kill classes go the Thief is probably a better fit since you can spike down a single target pretty quickly with it . As for the Ranger its not a bad class no but i see it more fit for solo play than group play. (bar dragons )

Flipping a coin gives you a 50 percent chance of getting heads but just because you flip it 100 times doesnt mean you’re going to land on heads 50 times, of those coin flips you could only land on heads 20 times out of 100 . Same thing would apply to salvaging items

I have been hearing a lot of talk about legendary armor lately. Is this a confirmed thing or are people just talking? To be honest I am the exact type of person that will “have” to grind and get this. So I am kinda hoping that it is just a rumor so I don’t feel obligated to grind and get it. Two legendaries is more than enough grind to last me a lifetime. I know my issue is self imposed

I’d give it a punchers chance. The Dominion of Winds sits on the doorstep of LA and Calderon Forest so you have the starter area covered . They have pretty good lore too . The biggest set back i imagine would be armor and beginning story lines .
LOL unlike the OP, I actually looking forward to a sub based MMO. Why? you may asked. It is because like a lot of people I am sick of all the so called free to play MMO. I always end up spending more money than I am on a sub based MMO. Also I am sick of the RNG and P2W rubbish.
As far as GW2 goes, it is fairly good value for money. Sadly, maybe because it has no sub, Anet don’t seem to be able to afford to make an expansion like a sub based MMO lile WoW which has just announce yet another expansion. Something that no doubt will help them to bring back a lot of old players and new alike.
As far as B2P, I think only Ever Quest Next is following that model. Every other new MMOs are either sub or f2p.
Their not making an expansion because they can’t afford it, it is a choice of theirs. They plan on release expansion style content over time and for free instead. Guild Wars 2 is making more money per month then the vast majority of the sub MMOs are, I think Lineage and WoW are the only sub games that beat it, and both of those games have been released world wide and in the biggest MMO markets in the world, where as Guild Wars 2 has not.
So do ya think, as time goes on, GW2 will beat them ?
Most likely not WoW, but I think it has a good chance to beat Lineage.
I think at some point the age of WoW will catch up with it at which point yes GW will . Do i care? Meh not really.
Hello everyone, I just want to know if its a good idea to introduce GW2 to my 10 yrs. old son. I’ve been playing this game for the last 10 months and I really liked it. My son sees I played and he seems to be interested in it. He usually plays fps games. I’m sure he will like the asura engie class. Im afraid he will be too addicted to it like me. So what do you think, go or no go?

As much as i hate the burnout on alts i have to disagree with this idea . An ista-80 scroll doesn’t teach you how to play your class making you an insta-noob on it . You would know none of the world which doesn’t do you any good . You would have no weapon skills unlocked yay on that . Since you haven’t played it you dont even know if you like it so it could have been a waste of money . So yea there are a lot of issues with this

I notice the gem-prices sky rocketed after the patch. It’s now about 10 gems for 1 gold. Officially they should change with the economies so when you see a patch that puts a lot of gold into the game you can expect the prices to go up and go down after the patch (then again, they never seem to get down again). However the last patch is not so much of a money grind so how come gem prices almost doubled again. Has it been done artificially in stead of the economy?
Part of it is the change in the permanent gathering tools and since they cost 1K gems people who convert gold to gems are causing a spike in the price . The other factor is the weapon skins (which you cant deny are pretty sweet) so people are gonna be buying those up in droves .
Out of curiosity…do you see selling ascended gear directly for gems as being preferable to making it unbound (until equipped), so that it could be sold on the trading post? Why or why not?
Id be fine with this option . It would probably be better actually since once its on the gem shop everyone and their mother will have one which wont necessarily be the case if it was allowed to be put on the trading post .
Except it wouldn’t really be pay to win because ascended weapons can be crafted or gotten out in the world via farming.
I still think all they need is some proper event scaling. Maybe a minimum number of people, but not 80. That’s ridiculous, especially when nobody knows exactly when to be there.

no . like i said gearing up alts is easy . i have 5 alts now tricked out in exotic and a fair amount of ascended trinkets . Burnout is a far bigger factor for alts than gearing them up .
I dont see Ascended as a must so that’s not really a problem for me . Rather the issue is the burnout while leveling an alt . Gearing them up in exotics is super easy though .
Mounts have NEVER been apart of Guild Wars Lore. Why ruin it all with mounts?

Even the Wurm was technically beaten into submission by the player rather than domesticated .
What you have to remember about the Wurm and the Devourer is that they were super slow and one of their skills was actually a speed buff to make them move at normal speed for a short time . The wurm was also required to navigate the Desolation as you may recall as the sand was instadeath otherwise.

I could not get GW2 out of my mind last few days. I played four days last week, collecting spores and then I stopped. I have not played four days and but kept thinking about it. I am not planning the next zone to explore, the next dungeon to conquer, the next title to achieve, the next squad to join, or the next gear to grind, but what to say on this forum and how annoying it is that it eats away my time. I used to follow the motto that “If you have nothing good to say don’t say it”, but I just found GW2 kept pop up in the back of my mind causing me sidetracked even conversing. I had urges to read the forum on iphone while dinning with others. Even though the game is not attracting me to login, I woke up at middle of the night realizing I am thinking about how annoying the game is that why it kept grabbing for attention. I felt like an addict that paid to be possessed. It must be how opium, crake addicts felt.
Then it occurred to me that I should think about the happy moments I had playing the game, the first time completing Divinity Reach exploration, being invited to guilds, being helped on jumping puzzles, fighting along sides with friends in WvW even though we did not have much idea what was the plan, and just simply seeing other players running around in the beautiful world and having fun. These fun memories helped to wash away some of the aggravation somehow accumulated while slaving away for spores, seeming pointlessness time spent in the game. A year ago, login was fun.
You’re not truly addicted until you start replacing curse words with kitten and Jesus with Lyssa just to avoid cursing or using the lords name in vain . I will say however such an addiction isn’t really a bad thing . Its actually a sign of good design when you cant get a game out of your head . I bet sooner or later you’ll be able to write poetry about your adventures in Guild wars . See you then .
