I am a computer noob, what would be the difference if we switched to DX12?
According to the devs it would be a much bigger investment than its worth.
That’s what the devs and all the white knights said about the 64 bit client too. And guess what, the 64 bit client helped tremendously with the crashes. They make the excuses because they don’t want to do it not because it won’t help. They would rather spend the dev time on something they can market in the gem store.
They really said that about the 64 bit client? Helped me quite a bit. I think moving to Vulkan or DX12 would be great too but they have access to metrics and budget stuff that says it would’t be worth it :(
Prestige is meaningless. This game should be about character customization, not arbitrary exclusivity.
This isn’t communism online.
If it were you’d be forced to do whatever the game says, which in communism would be lots of work for practically nothing which is why communism sucks.
The Glorious armor set is like so cool!
Im happy you like this but you look like a scrawny viewtiful joe, a broke power ranger and an unemployed random final fantasy knight.
I think you’re just jelly that I have PvP exclusive armor ^_^ The armor isn’t ghetto it totally shows my bod and has a cool superhero look to it. I could use shadow abyss and crushed bone but pretty much everyone uses blacks and whites for everything. We need more medium armors that aren’t trench coats though. Mistwalker is a cool trenchcoat though but the CoE and Viper sets I think look good too.
Bolt is such a cool weapon that topping it is very hard.
I agree with the others in disliking bolt. It just looks like it is made of garden fence material. Like one of those ornate metal fences…not like something sharp or dangerous. I want my sword blade to actually look like a blade. My personal preference would be a blade similar to twilight/eternity….the shape of an actual blade that looks sharp, but has an elemental effect to it. Not like incinerator..or whatever the legendary dagger is called…that just looks like a blow torch flame instead of a blade. I would even like bolt if they changed he aesthetic to something like I was just describing. The lighting part is cool, but maybe a blade made out of lighting…with a lightning trail similar to the dark/star trail of astralaria.
I agree with you on Incinerator but I like Bolt’s dragon accents. Could be sharper looking but its off gold gives the impression of it being a cool mystical metal while still looking highly conductive. The sword in that picture looks awesome though I hope it doesn’t take too many charged lodestones If it’s sun themed then molten lodestones would be quite appropriate for obvious reasons.
Something with a high skillcap that rewards skillful gameplay. An acrobatics/critical strikes/daredevil may qualify since you need dodging for the vigor upkeep and it isn’t enough to read the start of a tell to get a formal dodge but rather dodge at a specific moment. However, since the extra movement speed was moved to shadow arts (thus acrobatics was overall nerfed this patch) I’m running SA/CS/DD with staff and shortbow, S/D and shortbow, or staff and S/D in PvE now since SA offers so much like stealth on steal (meaning no need to S/D 5 then swap to staff for its totally awesome knockdown) and removing a condition per second in stealth but still overall rely on evades so I can stay on the enemy while minimizing damage intake but seems impractical in larger scale fights where the risk of getting swarmed is totally real.
Its fair. I did murder a scrapper and tempest, haven’t met a druid yet. Might work on them too. Good old gust, I love you <3.
I experimented with longbow/staff mender druid with monk runes and it’s like so good!
So not the drama! I did lots of unranked during the season anyway because ranked had too many issues. They’re hopefully mostly gonna be resolved next season instead of made worse but sounds good so far.
Oh, like for fun I’ve been trying out a thief killing build since that class seems to be the fotw. I send out a map chat that claims I have an invincible thief killing build then sit on home and wait. It provides great entertainment (it’s not really invincible against folks who know what they’re doing but gives me great practice getting ganked by thieves). AND it helps the thieves I nuke with it learn about the basic drawbacks to their new found seeming invincibility.
So how would your build deal with a dragonhunter or necro? The universe doesn’t revolve around thieves. Since dodge cleanses cripple you’re totally going to want weakness application and that’ll be useful against anyone since it’s the opposite of vigor.
Im pretty sure you need a better understanding of how to beat a DH.
The only way a DD beats a DH is with p/p (more or less unviable) or the DH is terrible.
Not true. Staff 2 can chain for some decent weakness application that reduces the DH’s dodging output while steal can cause stealth leading to the staff 1 knockdown. DH has good stability access so timing this is critical.
Nothing surprising about that. There are worse things that haven’t been fixed yet.
My Scorpion Wire still doesn’t work. I assume it’s because it’s the most difficult skill to design across any video game and requires technology far too advanced to ever be made possible.
It works sometimes but isn’t very friendly with certain terrain bumps
You’ll need to fully explore each map and max out all masteries for the new legendaries. Good luck.
If you think you might you probably do. If your processor is older than Sandybridge then it’d be a good idea to replace your motherboard and CPU with a Skylake or wait for Zen or Kabylake. Like totes wait for Pascal or Polaris on the GPU front and if you don’t have an SSD buy one like yesterday. Go with the 500GB ones for a good price/performance ratio and SATA III bottlenecks at 550 MB read/write speeds and PCIe SSD’s are more expensive and even faster than that. SATA III SSDs are the new HDD’s and PCIe SSD’s are the new SATA III SSDs.
Oh, you so want liquid cooling for whatever processor you get. The radiator is much easier to clean with canned air and while a good Corsair cooler will set you back $100 it’s totally worth it.

Speaking of which I was in a squad and we got the dragon to half health but it bugged out on us and transported us to an empty map :( I was just there to finish the story but was lucky enough to get a good map so I ran with it so my total EXP was more than projected for that timeframe but still, would have been great to finish it.
I am a computer noob, what would be the difference if we switched to DX12?
According to the devs it would be a much bigger investment than its worth. For someone like me with a 4k monitor, Windows 10, and DSR I could record 8k footage without any hiccups. I at least managed some 8k screenshots though but ever since upgrading from Windows 7 I can’t even get the game to stay in 8k. Maybe it’s a pipe issue and DOCSIS 3.1 routers need to come out on top of a Pascal or Polaris upgrade.
Maybe Vulcan would be better than DX12 but DX12 means the devs would have much more freedom and flexibility with graphics. It means they could give us all cape backpieces and not have them clip through charrs, it means less buggy (due to engine limitations) noble countess outfits with bowing and landing a jump, and able to access more cores for more FPS.
https://www.guildwars2.com/en/news/hot-new-legendary-weapons/
“rather than take the time to develop the full set before releasing any of them, we will be releasing new legendary weapons in small groups at regular intervals until the full set of sixteen has been added to the game”
4 months, no news – how is that a regular interval? For kitten’s sake..Just seems like ANET keep on biting off more than they can chew. I mean, heck look at the hype surrounding HoT, they gave a release date about 6 months ahead of time but just kept giving us nibblets of information every few weeks, with extra padding in statements. Reminds me of writing a paper really.
atleast with HoT they were giving us those small nibblets, which atleast gave us information – now it’s full on silent exile mode.. And the preview of what they are workin on for the spring quaterly update didn’t mention anything bout new legenderies. And waiting till summer for the next three legenderies seems ludicrous.. yet frightingly possible
At this rate I may as well just make bolt and then whatever new legendary sword comes out. By then I should have all the necessary masteries (I need to do some fractals for the extra 8 base game mastery points to max the legendary crafting mastery and I just got Bo yesterday and maxed out Verdant Brink and Auric Basin so I’m most of the way there for those prerequisites)
Bolt is such a cool weapon that topping it is very hard.
Very subjective, personally I actually dislike Bolt.. I like my sword to be made out of you know, metal – solid metal. Hence very impatient for the new sword to be unveiled, almost anything will top Bolt (imo), hate the fact that it’s hollow inside. Would love something more elegant but nothing silly
What!? How can you not like bolt?! It’s like a cool unique goldish color, has dragon accents, and totally oozes lightning! It’s solid metal in the metal parts but has some empty space in it to charge the lighting, look lighter and more aerodynamic for smoother slicing and slashing and looks sharp.
Bolt is such a cool weapon that topping it is very hard.
Losing itself is no big but it’s the process. Seeing your teammates rushing mid to receive the big hurt as if it’s the big new thing instead of trying to win (winning never goes out of style) makes you look bad. Then you got the bailers.
Do you mean mechanically or aesthetically? Mechanically I have an idea for supermobs that are larger versions of currently existing mobs but have access to more attacks and repeated abilities to accommodate larger groups and scale with them. What separates them from regular mobs is greatly improved AI. If a computer as far back as the 90’s could beat a world champion in chess then why can’t we do that kind of AI now?
The types wouldn’t necessarily be native to those regions so theoretically you could have a shadow leaper supermob randomly spawn in Queensdale, Frostgorge, or anywhere or a Teagariff supermob in Orr, Ascalon, or in his native Silverwaste. Possibilities are endless here. These mobs even alone would give even massive zergs credible chances of failing.
I think it’d be good to have an option to trade them for transmutation stones or a HoT currency somewhere like one tome could be converted to a pile of auric dust or crystalline or for example.
Well it is run by a dragon who actively declared war on the rest of Tyria. Enemy territory shouldn’t feel welcoming.
And I killed it. Twice! Yet nothing changed at all.
That’s because gameplay time isn’t linear. When we’re in the open world we’re canonically in a time before we killed the dragon. It also justified level scaling well since if you’re in Queensdale you’re in a different part of the timeline than Dragon’s Stand. If you’re in Queensdale Zhaitan is alive and kicking still.
But who knew Mordy was so disciplined? Everything happens right on schedule, and not a minute sooner.
I thought he was the dragon of Plants and Minds, not Plants and Clock Timers… -_-
I don’t like fixed times for events I think Silverwaste has a better model. But that’s game mechanics not story. For example autotargetting is there for our convenience but also because the PC’s aim and technique is just that good. It’s best to integrate story and gameplay but sometimes it isn’t possible.
i can only assume that its a stupid trolling attempt whilst trying to advertise a beginner’s video
good try i guess
BUT but but… it’s Morgul! 5th “best” thief EU xD
As far as video goes, i am disappointed – i expected unicorns flying around~
I agree with you in 100%… sadly “The Dreamer” is still beyond my reach.
#Donate is welcome
I have it but don’t use it in PvP. Takes awhile to make but I believe you can do it.
We still need to see how Guild Wars 2 plays out. It might not even leave room for a sequel if they do definitively decide to close the series. It may have a spiritual successor that’s effectively Guild Wars 3 but set in a different universe (or shared universe but different planet than Tyria).
The swinging on bars thing sounds like it might have potential for some stages but why not have a straight up well developed parkour mechanic?
Sometimes, it feels that way, full of mobs, tight corridors, etc?
You mean a game with environmental diversity where you can actually use your class abilities?
In Demon’s Souls/Dark Souls/Bloodborn you lose most of your progress if you die (unless you found the shortcut), and you lose all your souls – the only currency. If you would do that in GW2 the whining would be even greater.
Meh, losing your souls at least in Dark Souls 1 was no big. Dark Souls 2 on the other hand had soul memory.
HoT maps feel very unwelcoming, like someone really doesn’t want me to go there.
Well it is run by a dragon who actively declared war on the rest of Tyria. Enemy territory shouldn’t feel welcoming.
The overwhelming consensus last season was that revenant was overpowered. I thought nerfing overpowered classes lead to balance (you know, that thing all players want and devs actively work towards)?
The “Op” in sPvP was conditional build. The nerfs were all to power build. Makes sense does not?!
I played power rev and it did feel strong in 1v1 and securing stomp scenarios (between sword 5 or staff 5 for helping someone else secure a stomp by pushing off rezzers or dodge for stability for stomping ourselves) and a well timed jade winds could radically change things in a group fight on point.
Mallyx revs did feel quite strong though, the torment and confusion are an ugly combination since they make a player defeat themselves (confusion causes harm if you use a skill while torment does damage while you move) but were still somewhat beatable. Conditions across the board need toning down especially after the introduction of Viper’s where there are stats dedicated to prolonging them on top of the added potency.
I could not resist picking on your post. So we are balancing stuff based on 1v1 now?! And rev was not and is not the strongest point holder by any means. May I add that all what you mentioned, sword 5, staff and Jade wind, are still the same. So based on your statement I can conclude that anet nerfed the wrong stuff, right?
To be fair, I think Anet had the right ideas in mind, but the execution was beyond terrible. What is really disappointing is that the under/non performing skills/traits are untouched. So we nerf power, leave everything else the same, call it a day, and play a different class I guess.
You have to remember that amulets were removed so opponents are far less tanky now. Yeah the facet of light nerf wasn’t necessary while Mallyx could be over the top. The autoattack sustain was also quite high and still decent and everyone said UA was over the top (as bugged as it could get). It might have got hit too hard but it only seemed balanced in the context of an overly tanky bunker meta, which is gone now. Rev does have weaknesses (like heals depending on conditional factors like getting hit or hitting someone else and poor condition cleansing) but one must be aware of them and try working around them.
I wanted them to buff Ventari but it could have been a delicate balancing act since if they reduced the charge time and energy requirements to seemingly reasonable levels it might end up OP in node battles but I personally think it’d be balanced out by a relatively high skill floor. There are times you need to use weapons and times you’d need to cleanse, heal, and even burst the tablet for a tactical knockback. The legend should probably be reworked at a deeper level than even that though.
Unfortunately the trend is towards simplifation in games. It isn’t always a bad thing but it certainly isn’t always good. Bad simplification makes us think, “that’s it?” whereas good simplification removes a harmful feature like fall damage, in combat slowdowns, or a status effect like confusion. The most notorious example of bad simplification is Windows 8 and Metro in general. When you have something established you have certain basics and adding to those adds a layer of depth so long as they’re foundationally sound. A game like Guild Wars 3 might have Dark Souls like combat mechanics but without the context that makes Dark Souls so great.
How about a game that mixes MOBA mechanics with fighting game mechanics. Once per battle you can challenge another player to a duel where it’s a one on one 2D fighting game. You would have seven abilities on your skill bar but on the overmap you’d still have healthbars and fighting game mechanics like entering certain controller plus button sequences for special moves. Not all moves will be available in the MOBA mode with the overhead movement and no MOBA mechanics are available during dueling mode, which is a pure straight up sideview fighting game where if you lose the opposing team gets some decent points and your respawn time is longer. Since you can only challenge someone to a duel once per match you can theoretically have six duels: one where you challenge someone and if everyone on the opposing team challenges you at different points. Each hero has their own unique style and set of moves both in the main mode and the dueling mode.
The special moves would be attached to your “1” and “2” abilities. There would be no EXP or money system but still some NPCs (cannot be engaged in dueling mode).
Controls: controller is encouraged, something like the X-Box PC controller but with more responsive and sensitive thumbsticks (aiming arrows in Dark Souls was a nightmare :( ) would be optimal.
Heroes: One knows Karate and Jeet-Kune-Do and moves fast and would be high tier at top levels but bad for new players, a strong slow hero who is good at lower tiers but as players get more skilled usefulness wanes and boxes, a warlock who is mid-tier at every level of play; mid-high tier speed, and knows Kenpo and tiger style Kung-Foo, and a healer who is low-mid tier at DPS, knows crane Kung-Foo and Aikdo for single target CC, and some other heroes I haven’t thought of. Some cosmetic skins would be purchasable for different heroes, either for the heroes themselves but mechanically exactly the same but with the window dressing of a whole new character. Like the warlock could have a cute wizard girl counterpart who are different characters (and both canon) but have absolutely everything in common from a game mechanic standpoint. Despite being different characters they’ll both count as the same character. This may strike some as lazy (even me ^_^ ) but this I feel may be one of the places where simplicity might be a good thing since if there are too many characters there’s too much risk of overlap (some isn’t bad but too many characters may render some redundant or replaceable), wonky balance, and
Setting: Like modern society but with heavy steampunk elements and some Asian and Caribbean areas too but isn’t Earth itself. A stylized modern setting where buildings still look good and aren’t all plain boring slabs of steel and concrete or overly simple looking houses. Some fashions are medieval (warlock wears a traditional black and dark purple robe and hood while a couple other heroes wear a modern karate gi) but mostly modern (the strong slow hero wears ripped denim shorts, no shirt, and boots). This way the setting could be somewhat relatable without having uninspiring real life modern architecture and design.
This is obviously a whole new game and not put into Guild Wars 2 since by buying Guild Wars 2 we paid for a game that advertised specific mechanics and those basics need to stay in place.
Tl;dr: Guild Wars 3 will likely be a very cut down version of Guild Wars 2 (likely in the wrong ways) while they’d be better off going to a whole new franchise and genre.
(edited by Agemnon.4608)
Vigor isn’t OP enough to justify changing feline grace. We need more potential for chaining (especially offensive combos and S/D 5, swap to staff or start in staff and simply steal to target for stealth, knockdown, then fist flurry is a seamless fluid chain for example) in the game overall since it feels good doing so. A stat like might would need an ICD like that.
Dagger storm was great
I don’t agree. It was okay for tagging but the problem with it is you’d suddenly gain aggro and get focused before getting the full skill off. This was in Orr before the nerfs and dodging the pullbacks felt very rewarding. All it takes is a split second seeing the pick and you dodge so the stage back then rewarded reaction time nicely too.
Everytime I see daggerstorm in PvP I wanna cry. If you want to stack burn via projectiles with a combo field why not just use P/P for unload when that ele has a chill or burning field? D/D has a blast finisher too (I think?) but shouldn’t justify the long CD time especially with vault to fill a blast finisher role.

I don’t hate the game. I just hate the HOT “content.”Oh look, everyone’s AFK in Dragon Stand. Such compelling gameplay…
Quoted for truth! I’d like to actually do the Dragon Stand content but if you can’t get a taxi in you miss out. Tangled Depths even if you wait awhile has times when there aren’t enough people for the meta. Never had this problem with Silverwaste.
Interesting because the times I needed to change maps and get a taxi in Silverwastes were too numerous to count. Not because there weren’t people around but because of the dreaded chest farm going on.
I haven’t got a chest map that often but when I did I’d simply join the zerg and grab some treasure. The few times the map failed were funny especially when it was a full map. Nearly all the time the sitch goes down like this: enter map, usually halfway done or in the downtime between events, defend fort, run some caravans, defend another fort, then Vinewrath and maze.
HoT maps need to switch to those kinds of timers and they aren’t setup to have a distinction between treasure or event maps too.

People don’t see the whole picture. They see what they want to see, exclude the rest, ignore parts of the reality that prevent them from coming to logical conclusions. It’s easier to ragepost than it is to think how to adapt, though one is more effective than the other.
Or maybe we don’t mind the nerfs, but hate the fact that all the weak aspects were completely untouched?
I agree that people don’t see the whole picture. That much is clear from your post and many others.Ventari needs serious fixing but if it’s tweaked to be viable in PvP it may be “OP” in PvE. Yet another solution that can be solved by separate balancing. To be PvP ready it needs faster charge times and less energy consumption. By the time it pumps out a heal or even cleanse the players you wanted to heal or cleanse would likely have ran out of the tablet’s range.
I’m fairly sure it will hardly be OP in pve before being OP in conquest. In PvE it’s all about damage. Tempest and Druid bring in more than enough healing. What ventari can’t do is getting even close to Druids offensive support while maintains the minimum amount of healing.
Normally it’s the case that something is OP in PvP first (players have fewer immunities and much less HP than bosses and even elite and vet trash mobs) but the very nature of PvP battles and the unique mechanics behind the tablet say such a buff would make it so. In PvP on a small point consistently upkeeping cleanse and healing on a point will be a bit of a challenge and still need to use weapon skills but skills like scorpion wire and point blank shot would get their teammates out of the tablet’s range (the shield skill would put healing on hold making them vulnerable to the melee inside) so it’d still have good counterplay whereas in PvE people can stack and it’d be easier to alternate between tablet skills and weapon skills due to the pace. I don’t know how raids work though but heard conditions play a big part there.
Ventari needs lots of work to be viable in PvP but I think they’re afraid of overpowering the legend in PvE. I only one two matches (all unranked) out of six as Ventari and I spent lots of time in Shiro in those matches too. Then again I went mid in Legacy for one of the losses but the tablet’s precasts and cooldowns make it unwieldy.
Currently in both condition cleanse and maximum healing potential druids and tempests can do better. The reason it would be in PvP first is because PvP isn’t really as much about killing fast but about holding a point (this could be observed in the last meta). Under these conditions a healer will always be OP first in conquest.
BTW in the current raid condi cleanses are almost irrelevant and in PvE there is a concept called overhealing ;p. Truth be told, it’s even possible to clear the raid with a berzerker druid.
Ouch. Sounds like they need to buff raiding then. Not only should dying be avoided but a very credible risk of it happening to even good groups needs to be there especially for elite content. Ventari has great point holding potential in group fights but is too slow and clumsy to be practical.
I remember in the last meta getting into duels on points where none of us would die (especially ele vs. mesmer or ele vs. ele) until a +1 occurred.
If you’re lucky enough to continuously get good maps then follow an event chain:
http://dulfy.net/2015/11/09/gw2-hot-maps-timer-famme/
I feel like it takes forever too -_- Most of the problems would be solved if they made it like Silverwaste instead of having everything on a fixed timer.

We’ve had Belinda’s Greatsword in game a while now, as well as Usoku’s Needle. Would love to see a Yari/Naginata staff, a Yumi long bow, a Kanabo hammer, a Kama axe. There are several other items that could be implemented.
To go with the weapons we’ve also had the Shadow Assassin outfit but nothing else. I for one would love to see some actual Samurai themed armor, heck even a kimono/hakama outfit would be great!
I’d like some classes to fit them first.
I think martial arts themed elite specs would fit the bill like ninja for warrior or monk for thief (somewhat similar to druid for some skills but uses bare hands that have ascended mender’s stats and is for burst damage and healing) and black belt for guardian (focus on CC and single target and like monk also bare hands but with paladin’s stats instead).

I’d hate for them to sink that low, but judging by the incredible number uncultured people running around with a Japanese name above their heads, I’d agree that Anet will need to make a lot more weeb content to make quick easy money. A weeb’s shallowness is pathetic but that also means they’re far easier to rob. I’d do it if I were Anet. Could even consider renaming Cantha to Japantha or something in the future.
What’s wrong with people for liking anime? There are even adults who like it.

DO. NOT. DO. LWS2.
I have the entire season unlocked. But the achievements are so buggy and masochistic. It’s asinine to do them.
Your best bet for easy mastery points is Triple Trouble. Just keep an eye out for those organizing for them on LFG. Weekends are usually best. I was scared trying it out for the first time after hearing all the horror stories. But really, it’s a breeze when it’s organized.
The worst one was it’s all about time and it seemed impossible at first until you realize you can buy fire elemental powder for the second phase. Unfortunately, if you defeat the first wave of mobs in the first part instead of having some recovery downtime you’re immediately swarmed again (defeating the purpose of clearing out those mobs in the first place) so it’s best to leave one alive and kite it outside the circle. Just keep doing this and make sure the NPC’s stay in the blue. I did this before HoT on a thief too (came in handy in the third phase) and I had literally seconds to spare.
The dragon ones I did on an elementalist. They were challenging yet fair. The second worst achievement was the one where you couldn’t get hit by wind or sandpits but it’s doable. I don’t like events where I’m locked out of my profession’s mechanics but Caithe was fun, but shadowstep and infiltrator’s arrow would have really helped for that achieve.
The rest were relatively easy (turn camera shake off for chapter 6 and get your positioning down) and chapter 5 seems buggy but you need to learn the mechanics to get them.
The problem is there’s no “theme” to this weapon. Legendary weapons aren’t just a random jumble of particle effects and glowing bits — they have a unified character.
Meteorlogicus is a mechanical model of a solar system, with clouds, planets, and stars. Its appearance even reacts to the day/night cycle.
Kudzu has a plant/nature theme, with a dryad depicted on the bow, petals falling from it while drawn, and flowers growing in the user’s footsteps.
Nevermore has a dark, druidy feel to it. It’s a gnarled tree branch with a large raven sitting atop it, and a little flock of ravens surround you when you wield it. When you draw it, a raven spirit surrounds the staff, and projectile effects can change into a raven form.
This “Flaming Green Skull Katana” sounds like “sharks with frickin’ laser beams on their heads,” to me. You’re just piling on random stuff that sounds bad-kitten on their own, but when combined they just seem ironically cluttered and kind of silly. Maybe if it were established that this weapon were present in the Guild Wars lore, or if it were an homage to an actual folklore weapon in history, that would be something. But instead, it’s like we turned to Mad Libs to design a weapon…

I see what you’re saying. For a greatsword I think a guitar would be a cool idea modeled after Geeta so it’d have two layers: a reference to K-On for those in the know and those who don’t watch that will simply see a cool guitar skin. Regular swords however aren’t big enough to qualify for guitars but still have a huge range of committed themes. Green fire has potential though but what theme can it be tied to while not being underwhelming compared to Bolt (which is pretty awesome)? Maybe something to do with the unnamed god who came before Abaddon?
My thief has two pieces of ascended zealot’s in PvP and a piece of crusader’s and his self-heal adds a good chunk. The rest of my equipment is marauder’s.
My ele is in full celestial and has good healing.
cool story bro
(relevance?)
The relevance is the healing is just fine without a major healing stat or even without having all pieces with healing power.

Pascal and Polaris cards are releasing this year and the Polaris equivalent of the GTX 950 Ti is releasing earlier than other cards if you do decide to go the build a PC route. Careful though since it gets quite expensive but worth it in the end. You want an SSD for a boot drive and if you have a recent motherboard go with an NVMe SSD as your boot drive but a SATA III SSD should be a fine cheaper option too. Skylake is the current Intel generation with Kabylake and Zen (AMD) slated to release at the end of this year.
If you get a graphics card then go with an aftermarket solution like Gigabyte or Asus. For speakers the JBL LSR 305’s are good but be sure to buy them in a pair instead of a single monitor. A USB digital to analog converter is also a great to have to complete the audio experience.
Guild Wars 2 can run on a potato and that’s intentional. I get 30-60 fps at 4k with a relatively old card.
What would a greataxe offer mechanically that can’t also be done with a greatsword or maybe hammer? I think some greatsword skins should be greataxes. Since we had three legendary greatswords in the base game maybe one of the HoT legendary greatswords can be a T-Rex themed greataxe with the other greatsword skin being a guitar with rifts as you swing and have pyrotechnic footsteps?
Greataxes as skins for hammers or greatswords would be good enough while introducing a whole other weaponset would create even more balancing issues.
Thoughts? Not very imaginative.
Not meaning to be rude but it’s the simple truth.
Besides that, apart from the footsteps there are already weapons in the game that have various colors of fire on them that aren’t legendary.
So make the fire brighter and greener! :D What if there’s a cooldown for a floating flaming skull to randomly appear as you attack? There’s already a lightning sword and the firebringer (which isn’t legendary but still cool) so going with another element (fire) could make sense. Since katanas and green fire are cool I figure they’d be awesome together. It can also make green explosions that are on a cooldown too (like an explosion every 10 seconds when you attack).
What if it’s a gold katana with green fire on it and your footsteps are green flaming skulls? Thoughts?
There is only one thing to say – Shame on you ArenaNet for locking mastery points behind mini games!
Why would anyone like to play a game that locks you out from being able to enjoy all the new mastery abilities?
It’s better to have them give some mastery points than none otherwise mastering lines would take even longer than they already do.
Classic cartoons are so good! :D They seem to be more colorful too.
Captain Planet in this game would beat up my ele for using fire magic in wooded areas.
No, the reveal can enable stealth rezzers to be targetted while sword 5 can pull off said rezzers so there’s good skill sync at least right there. Staff 5 can also potentially interrupt a group while staff 3 gives a good block against attacks like bristleback, unload, and rapid fire and jade winds is amazing if you get the timing down. Then you have a big group interrupt with the Glint elite that baits dodges and knocksback rezzers and even downed players on a point quite nicely.
