Craftable insignias arent salvageable.
Trick or treat bags have a small chance of dropping charged quartz, about 1 in every 1500 bags, if you want to go that road.
I have 100% magic find so it’d be 1 in every 750 for me ^_^
I dedicated all my resources to crafting rare short bows knowing that if you do something an infinite amount of times over x period of time you’ll eventually achieve the desired outcome. You’re far more likely to obtain a precursor than a planet that meets ludicrously strict criteria for life to evolve developing. Our mere existence is far less likely than winning a precursor, and that’s not even factoring in that we’re intelligent life which narrows the odds further still.
I eventually obtained the lover, but still had some questing, T5 mat conversions, WvW, and dungeons left. This was before the Karka region was released too. The odds are still terrible, but if we use some perspective we can understand that it isn’t so bad. If you’re playing poker and won’t stop until someone obtains a royal flush then everyone is guaranteed to eventually have one at different times. Yes, it’d be an impractically long ultra-marathon with many games over a period of weeks at least , but still theoretically possible.
I converted gems to gold and bought some quartz. With 250 it’ll only make two armor pieces (I have 5 charged quartz) and that’s not even counting jewelry. I have an ascended triforge my thief, elementalist, and warrior share and had to spend five charged quartz for a wupwup shield (it is such a great shield skin it actually looks like it has some stability and weight and has effects and small flourishes that wouldn’t get in the way of its practicality) but making all of that bolt of Damask will take so long the time gating of charged quartz shouldn’t be too much of a factor in a practical sense.

I don’t know about new races but new outfits that look like convincing werewolves would be great. Each race would have their own versions and things like fur could be dyed.
“Tl;dr: When thinking of a new playable race, you have to consider how well they’ll fit in with the current events (PS, LS, expac). They’d need to “turn as few heads” as possible and make sense lore-wise. So, they need to be present in-game, have similar intelligence to current playable races and already have strong positive ties with current races too.”
They could always make up new races. Keep in mind there’s so much uncharted territory.
I mentioned it before but:
1.Griefing charges. Enables you to enter combat with a player of your choice. Hostility ends when one of the engaged parties dies. Only the player using the charge and the one it was used on will be red to each other.
The purposes are as follows:
1.Kill botters and AFKers when training mobs isn’t a viable tactic.
2.Introduce questers to PvP, even if you must do it in the PvE open world.
As for the race change option I want to agree with it but it would mess up with the storymode mechanics (and possible rewards) too much.

OH MY GOD! I had to pay for a game, I’ve got 3 full years of fun out of, and someone just starting gets a watered down restricted version for free?! I feel so discriminated against. /end sarcasm
The guy I quoted understands.
Don’t be like the fat guy at an all you can eat buffet who abuses all you can eat (GW2 is the MMO equivalent of such a restaurant) but instead buy gems. You’ll drastically improve your quality of life and have access to really cool skins and outfits. You can also convert to gold for some dyes or move ascended and legendary crafting along. Due to inflation and getting more gold per gem icy runestones are far more reasonably priced than when I made my legendary. Yes they’re still only one gold, but with inflation have practically fallen in price. The obvious downside however is vendoring obviously makes less money and each earned gold doesn’t go as far.
Sell an account unlock that gives you unlimited Transmutation Charges. Call it a Philosopher’s Transmutation Stone. It could display as an infinity symbol for the Transmutation Charge count in the wallet after being consumed.
Your market for the existing charges are people that are impatient – that can’t wait a week for login rewards, or that can’t bear to play a few PvP matches. You won’t lose them if you sell the unlimited unlock for a limited time, only once or twice a year.
I have over 160 charges, and can’t ever imagine myself buying charges, but I’d buy an unlock for $20. I know plenty of other people would too, just for the liberation of knowing they could change armor skins any time.
Alternatively, put it in a Black Lion Chest (though I wouldn’t prefer this). It would sell for thousands of gold on the trading post.
I thought there was something like the first paragraph in the chests. Meh, I checked, there isn’t, and it would be a good idea although you’ll naturally accumulate lots simply by playing the game. I don’t think it would sell for thousands (permanent bank and hair kits are a couple thousand and far more practical) but somewhere around 700-900g due to the high supply of transmutation charges from world exploration, chests, and PvP. That’s still a great chunk of change, you can fully outfit a celestial elementalist with it even by buying the damask directly or certain precursors.
While nothing to do with the gemshop I think open PvE world dueling would be great. Both parties would be red only to each other, can spar in Lion’s Arch, or you can challenge a ranger who intentionally griefs others (tough on warrior and elementalist, not too bad on sword guardian or thief due to teleports) Instead of knocking an enemy out of an AoE field you have rapid fire to really stack up the conditions (goodies like burn, which does great damage or poison, which reduces healing effectiveness) Although many AFKers due to being AFK can’t accept challenges.
Where the gem shop comes in handy is for the instances where you can’t train mob on AFKers who scale content up is for charges that enable you to tag other players. Remember that South Park episode where that guy randomly ganked other players without needing to accept a duel? It would enable those kinds of privileges in the open PvE world but only for the player you tagged. If you wanna duel that same person again you’ll need to spend an extra charge so effects end upon death. Since it costs real money people will take their forced dueling charges seriously. Log outs count as a loss.
A priest outfit sold during the Wintersday season ^_^
Too much invis skip through trash in dungeons for example
Even if you’re in full ascended berserker’s elite mobs can still take a long time to kill. Not only that but their drop rates are very poor. You also have some bosses that turn friendly at like 20% HP so they drop no loot.
It’s Anet themselves that are encouraging the skipping by making it more rewarding to skip. Long fights with trash (with all the clipping and effects reading tells is hard) that have insane CC (use haste or shake it off and you’re suddenly knocked down again…) aren’t fun. To make it fun nerf the HP sinks and buff drop rates.
Fair enough, I’ve not played Ghost in like, a weeks or so. Been having fun with other builds and my Ranger
I actually defended you guys – I know it’s a troll build and that the runes (or thief) will be nerfed because of it but most people just saw THIEF AAARGH NERRF!!
I just see it as smart use of mechanics. Lots of people complain that it’s OP, but look at some other builds out there; they can be just as bad.
I see a trap nerf coming if Ghost Thief starts to become a thing. They’ll make the trap popping reveal you by giving it a base damage. I can say that I’ve somewhat “helped” Ghost Thief gain popularity through streaming but it’s been around for a while. I’m also trying my best not to stream it as much. I get A LOT of rage whispers of people reporting me for hacking. I’m afraid I might get falsely banned because anet has a habit of listening to the loudest voices.
That’s just low and ignorant of them. You’re just doing what’s intended and you’re supposed to do: play to the strengths of your class to optimize your advantage. What they don’t understand is that thief actually needs the stealth to balance out a low base HP and no AoE bursts like rangers, warriors, and elementalists get.
1.Karma transform to linen.
2.Linen cost more than silk so don’t be a noob and buy loads of light deep and trouble chest pieces but instead buy the cloth vigil chestpiece from Crusader Aisling. Chest armor gives more linen yields.
3. Sell the linen, buy silk ^_^
4.Repeat steps 1-2 but keep the linen.
5.Silverwaste and world boss to regain the lost karma and repeat.
I despise raid timers which is why I don’t play FFXIV but I think with tuning they can allow for non speed run groups to complete the raids while preventing fully safe Soldiers and Nomads geared groups from completing the instance. While I hate them, I recognize that GW2 is a nightmare to balance with the amount of evades and immunity and healing available.
But you’ll actually need those evades, immunities, and even heals (since damage won’t be totally unavoidable)
My planned WvW build on my warrior sounds like it might be great for raids. The only thing worse than giving the other team the right to trash talk and call us out for being noobs is being the reason why your team lost and your own team calling you out for it.
The gear is Berserker helmet, chest, and boots with soldier greaves, gauntlets, and pauldrons all ascended with soldier’s hammer+ berserker sword + celestial shield since I’ll transfer the ascended quiver and triforge from my thief to him he could likely get away with ascended due to all the extra stats from the ascended armor) Traits are kick, shake it off, balanced stance, and battle standard. So it revolves around banners, stunbreaks, and interrupts. Sword 2 has a gap closer for after kick or in general. Hammer is the interrupt tool but telegraphs too much but when it’s good it’s excellent. I just hope raid mobs and bosses won’t have cheap defenses that totally invalidate interrupts or crowd control.
Revenant doesn’t strictly have an unblockable effect, but it has an effect for counterplaying blocks. It has a trait that causes your next attack after being blocked to inflict 50% more damage.
So, use a basic attack to trigger the block, then follow it up with your most powerful attack and it’ll probably do more damage than if no block had occurred.
So not only do they counter thieves with reveal but warriors too…great -_-
Revenant might even be Death Knight at WotLK launch broken tier. When you see two rogues and a priest fail to bring someone down you know they’re OP.
I’ve balanced my gem purchases for next week assuming it’s going to be there (also on top of HoT purchase) I’m planning on buying the witch (my next character will either be a human male necro…who will main the noble count suit or a female asura ranger but will definitely be making both eventually and from previews the witch outfit looks great on female asura), executioner, and hexxed outfits with maybe some spare gems for a couple of fire pack dyes.
Sand on boots (priory) and helmet (emblazoned), and the ascended pants (all celestial) rest is flare (Viper’s set pieces) and celestial is also on all pieces.
Don’t nerf Teq.
I want something like a hero class such as monk. Monk would have pistol/pistol, hammer, and fists. Hammer skills would be like warrior’s and pistol skills like thief’s. It would mostly be a warrior/thief hybrid but without the stealth, heavy armor, or banners to maintain some balance. Monk would have a bicycle kick elite skill that can’t be interrupted (other than maybe line of sighting), continually kicks and tracks the target, and can be traited to apply bleed and poison for every kick while dodging only mitigates the first second of the attack and it will lasts six seconds.
For the majority windows 10 is a straight upgrade with better memory management, better security, and support for Directx 12.
Those are the only (and I do mean only, the UI is overly simplistic garbage and Aero was a great thing that needs to be brought back at least in the Microsoft store yes Metro is so bad I’m willing to pay for it Metro is to the 10’s what goofy fashion is to the 80’s or goofy Emo hair is to the zeroes) reasons I upgraded from 7 and I’m just not seeing it. Wise Care 365 is reporting drastically higher boot times (28 seconds, I have an SSD up from 15 or sometimes even 13) than with 7 too.
*Moreover, “difficult” content in mmorpgs is typically synonymous with “unfair.” *
Because a lot of dungeons are legitimately unfair. You can have fair yet challenging where you can actually see where you went wrong but in WoW and other games you’d have raids or dungeons where people wipe despite all those extra stats from epics so if you had normal stat gear you’d certainly wipe. In Dark Souls it’s hard but fair. If you lose to the last boss you can think, “Duh! Of course I tried parrying the grab!” or, “I didn’t time my chaos firestorm around the pillar properly.”
Even within Guild Wars 2 you’ll have unfair mechanics (unfair due to being highly unintuitive) where you need to run the boss into an electro field generated by a mob that’s friendly to her. Then you have the entire room covered in projectiles, and they’re faster than your dodge. Then you have unfair situations that are unfair because things keep tracking you or coming at you giving you no time to think and plan something out like you would on a jumping puzzle or scouting the landscape in the open world where you ask yourself if you should choose to engage or not.
The sad thing is I suspected thief issues motivated the thread before actually opening it. Since it was actually explicitly mentioned that just confirms it.
Create 1 character of each class. Never get bored.
Time spent leveling is time spent not making gold.
So for HoT will there be a class change token that gives equal gear to what one has on the new class?
I’d actually like that quite a bit, I’d save a lot of time and gold converting medium to light armor so I’d need to just make two medium sets (thick leather is ludicrously cheaper than silk) instead of a medium and a very expensive light set.
The helmet and boots have shadow red, rest is enameled crimson with shadow abyss. Yeah it’s funny how dyes work out like that one dye on one texture looks like another dye on another:
Ok kids which has better performance or are they equal because i know AMD going to be King soon of the Dx12 which i know gw2 is Dx9 but anyway i love multi threading. But i wonder is there any improvement of the Windows 10.im using R9 295 X2
I’ve actually noticed even worse performance on 10 as opposed to 7. On 7 while running on 8k was still a literal slideshow I could at least get in some nice screenshots whereas on 10 it simply crashes.
Physical copy? Welcome to the 10’s buddy where we can directly download a game from the comfort of our home. We have Steam and other excellent online stores that outright obsolete places like Gamestop.
Do you have a Japanese IME? Set it back to English.
My guess is the scarcity and inflation on cloth prices is intentional. If it wasn’t they could just simply lower the silk bottleneck.
It isn’t fair that it’s far more expensive to fully outfit an elementalist with ascended.
An Ele only has to obtain 6 weapons to fully outfit him for all weapon combinations, a warrior needs 14. I am pretty sure, those 8 extra weapons will make the warrior more expensive to fully outfit in ascended.
I agree with you here somewhat, we have to consider Ascended weapons as well. Does the effect of weapons on the balance remain as steep if we compare armor weights instead of classes?
Weapons still require wood and metal, you know where to run and find wood and ore whereas fabrics require RNG, you must wait for salvaging rags to drop or get lucky with certain bags (that mostly give leather)

You can collect nodes and I’m personally holding off on outfitting my ele to make an ascended hammer, two swords, and a shield…and I don’t even have the laurels for all that :( My ele already has a wupwup staff, wupwup dagger, and Zojja’s dagger (daggers it shares with thief) but needs full celestial gear. Meh, the time gate from creating charged quartz should buy lots of time. Six ascended wupwup insignias should take a month to collect since it’s five charged quartz to an insignia. Then I can work on the shield and convert that to soldier stats (I’ll make a wupwup shield because I like the skin ^_^ ) And it’ll take even longer than that to collect the laurels needed to buy recipes :( Should have waited to put those WvW infusions on my daggers.
Trickshot also bounces from foe to foe so it’s good for tagging.
After three years we’ve been waiting for Elona, Cantha, and even unexplored parts of the world.
“After all Joko can’t be killed like anyone else.”
Batman would find a way and Superman wouldn’t even need to think, just fly really fast and punch him hard. The Punisher likewise would aim his rocket launcher at Joko and call it a day. Joko can be beaten, you just need the right person or group.
ahem karma ugh ugh ugh
Zip, it isn’t an intended method
Well it’s good he’s engaging in constructive dialogue but it seems somewhat short-sighted. I have Windows 10 which doesn’t even have native DirectX 9 support (Windows 7 mode automatically triggers with Guild Wars 2 and playing at 8k resolution for screenshots is no longer possible and crash a lot during big events )

Leather is also the most common drop from bags too. When you have 5 bags and 4 give you T5 leather you just wanna cry
First question:
GW2 thief is a heavily watered down WoW rogue. Unlike WoW rogues GW2 thieves lack cloak of shadows so condition damage is actually a threat especially combined with a low HP pool. In WoW sub-rogues counter priests and warlocks very hard whereas paladins and death knights were a big uphill battle though certainly possible to beat. Here we have expose armor, but mixed in with other vulnerability causing abilities such as dagger/dagger number 5 and rupture is dagger dagger 3 with the added benefit of landing behind your opponent while also applying some light bleeding.
As to the second question just keep gear updated every 10 levels or so and go mostly for offense. You want signet of shadows ASAP for the 25% passive increase in movement speed and then haste for a stunbreaker (you won’t see everything but tells for dodging are easy enough to spot) and finally shadow refuge. Try going for map completion and don’t leave a map until you discovered everything, but waypoints and hero point spots are most important.
You already can, I’ve personally made jewelry with zealot’s stats you need recipes that involve sprockets.
I have 75% berzerker and 25% zealot’s on my thief. I think it’s worth the ferocity tradeoff since withdraw and shadow refuge actually heal a decent amount now in exchange for a little damage that only procs during a crit anyway. Should be even better for a druid when I level one up (female asura since their cuteness goes well with pets ^_^ Funny how a female asura and male human can share the same armor lol!)
Agree that sPvP needs a zealot’s amulet but it would take radical rebalancing since druids would be far too overpowered and zealot’s mostly works best as individual pieces rather than full armor and jewelry at least from the theorycrafting I’ve done with thief. One piece of zealot’s jewelry might be good for a warrior so self-heals can actually keep up better with the max HP bump from nearly half soldier’s gear (other half berserker and one zealot ring or boots)

Both Revenants and Engineers (scrappers) are getting an aoe stealth removal by the way.
Which would be totally useless against an elementalist or guardian :-)
It’s pure ignorance saying a class is OP just because it has stealth. The stealth isn’t permanent and even in games where it is you’re basically a single target burst specialist and abilities where you can stunlock require good timing and even then things aren’t balanced for 1 vs. 1 so their shaman buddy might use a push spell making you fall to death back to the spawnpoint. I hated Eye of the Storm usually, but whenever shamans were present (especially on both sides) it was pure fun win or lose. Engineers are the closest thing this game has to shamans with elementalists being part druid part mage.
Anyway, in this game you need to spend resources to actually maintain stealth and that’s where the balance comes in. Shadow refuge is on an entire minute cooldown, blind has a cooldown and if you use it you’re already admitting you’re at a disadvantage as well as announcing that you’re not carrying haste (stun breaker) since signet of shadows for the passive mobility buff and shadow refuge are mandatory.
Thief has no good (solo, since shortbow #4 works well with rapid fire and unload to really rack up poison against mordrem thrashers and other lifesteal and healing mobs) offensive AoEs, shorbow #2 is okay but impractically slow most of the time except for point blank when your weapon switch is still on cooldown. This is a form of balance, since big yet telegraphed AoE’s belong to elementalist. If you take away single target burst damage (which also happens to be situational, close range from behind and you need CC to ensure something stays still) you take away what makes thief a thief. With reduced damage all you could do is stealth and run away and let another class finish the job since you’re out of steam, but with reveal you can’t even do that.
Female Charr Warrior, Nikita Ironfang
I really like the color scheme ^_^ Shadow Abyss with enameled crimson?
I like the weapons below quite a lot, they’re inexpensive relative to how awesome they are. Cobalt could be better since the blade itself seems almost too simple, though the flame effects really bring it to life but no picture could do it justice.
Considering Entropy has a cool purple glow and understated skull and wing accents that wouldn’t compromise the hammer’s functionality (lots of weapons seem to throw functionality out the window altogether especially with shields my personal favorite shields are the ascended crafted ones) it is selling for far less than one would expect. Good thing I picked it up before the resellers caught on. Outfit is imperial, dyes are shadow abyss, enameled crimson, and blacklight ^_^
" Second worse case, someone made a neo-kitten clan and would dedicate themselves to spreading holocaust denial propaganda everywhere. Apparently it was popular, because for months I kept seeing the same chat macros."
That’s terrible, did they mean it or were they just roleplaying as bad guys? So you see a charr killing humans…but those humans are bandits and the charr the good guy. It’s a morally gray world we live in buddy.
I remember all the bots in Far Shiverpeaks back in 2012, my report button remained very active then. I could hardly get in a kill with either my elementalist or thief so I’d stay ahead of the pack and preemptively kill trolls and such. I was in the process of making my legendary so I needed the powerful and potent (for conversion) bloods.
Thief classes in general are supposed to be top tier for PvP but low tier for PvE but due to wonky balancing thief became gutter tier for PvP and only useful in dungeons to avoid certain areas with stealth and group condition removal and healing (every entire minute).
It’s only the best at open world roaming in PvE for gathering and such and leveling, and that’s because you have stealth to avoid mobs you don’t care to fight (it’s like dude if I wanted to fight I would have hit you) and when you do want to fight stuff (not tanky enough to be worth it) and moves fast with a certain signet. Warrior gets shake it off which acts like our haste but still, haste is great for getting up after a knockdown, which are typically easy enough to dodge but with so much clipping and effects can’t always read the tells.
Let’s be honest. P/P is a little too dumb right now. The ridiculous damage you get just from one attack combined with Haste is unreasonable.
I’m all for making P/P viable and good but when I can just hit 3 once or twice and kill someone with little to no effort, that’s when you know something’s wrong.
Furthermore, just played with a buddy running Trapper Rune P/P build in WvW…. yeah, you thought Trapper D/P was super strong? Try P/P. The might stacks will make you annihilate everything.
Now I have never asked for a nerf to Thief before but I think this type of damage needs to be spread out in between all the pistol skills. Spamming 1 skill to win is unrewarding and game breaking, quite frankly. We need more incentive to use our other pistol skills…
Rangers get rapid fire. Also learn to dodge or block. Shield 5 is your friend if you play warrior. Against a good player all pistol 3 does is waste initiative unless you have a stun set up.
I still say you might as well nerf dungeon rewards if disproportionate rewards are your concern. Speed runners have no trouble taking dungeons down in 10 minutes. They got their meta gear and take advantage of all the exploits. So why not call for a nerf of dungeon loot?? …. Once again though I am against nerfing loot from any area. I am just making a comparison between another area that is being farmed. Instead of nerfing loot, raise loot chances in areas. If Anet does indeed end up nerfing the Silverwastes it could be seen as an attempt to coerce players that haven’t bought HoT by nerfing one of the few lucrative openworld maps.
Stop making certain champions friendly at 20% health (meaning no reward for that particular boss), make big damage telegraphs more apparent, and nerf some of the overly tanky elite mobs then people wouldn’t need to “exploit”.
Botting goes beyond mere mechanical exploits and is downright cheating. Rangers need an uptime nerf and need to have the ability to spread mobs out removed (ranger and other classes too because instead of cleaving or AoEing that group you’re then forced to hit one at a time meaning fewer people get fewer tags) but have some compensating buffs to make up for anti-griefing measures.
Why would they nerf it? It’s mostly blues and greens with the odd rare and dragonite ore.
I’m sick of everyone asking for things to be nerfed. Things need to be BUFFED. Loot on the whole is very poor. Nerf burning, nerf Celestial Ele, nerf DD ele, nerf PS Warrior, Nerf WHAO Ranger,
Just stop.
The low quality loot adds up pretty quickly due to the amount of chests you loot per hour. There is something wrong with the game if such an easy task as looting chests is more rewarding than running dungeons or high lvl fractals.
Plus it also devalues crafting materials. I would prefer being able to sell my loot for more.
First of all you need some serious gold just for the silk bolts required to craft just one bolt of damask, second of all yes I agree that fractals and dungeons can give more though they’re still good for the special currencies they give, third of all the ease depends on whose around. I had a legitimate challenge with a big group since hardly anyone was on the flowers (typically it’s only a few who don’t) however, my shadow refuge traited for healing and others who stood on flowers saved a lot of people from downed. People in /map were already making fun of us for wiping. Sometimes challenge comes up, especially if people are new, areas understaffed, and the mobs have obsene levels of health except for the trolls and healers. Mobs in Silverwaste have cheap mechanics…or would for solo content, it’s designed for big groups.
Being stunlocked by teagarrifs is an instant death sentence while even if you’re standing on a ledge logcically untouchable by melees another mob can summon vines underneath you that keeps following you…and they have lifesteal fields but as a thief I can just shoot poison fields into them and hope nearby rangers are alert enough to rapid fire to stack up the poison to minimize the mobs’ healing abilities. I’m not built for conditions (though my celestial ascended dagger and triforge give some condition damage) yet the area lends itself to such builds due to heavy toughness and needing some damage to tick while moving about and countering their lifesteal and healing.
With a Breath of Jormag and flameshield skin. Imperial outfit with enameled crimson, shadow abyss, and blacklight.
I will laugh so hard when every new HoT map can’t compete with SW in regards to gold/hour earned so we r forced to farm there for another year
pls dont do that… if that means u have to nerf sw, fine.
No, buff the new areas instead.
Normally you can upgrade to Windows 10 for free, just follow the instructions (dedicate an entire flash drive to it) and you’ll have all your important files on them. If you lack Windows 7 or 8 then yes you’ll need to buy separately.
It’s certainly possible to use a TV as a monitor but it just isn’t optimized for it. Also the bigger the screen the more spread out the pixels. A 40" 4k monitor has roughly the same DPI as a 27" 1440p monitor. Still, there’s certainly nothing wrong with 108-110 DPI especially at 40 inches.
I’m personally waiting until 2016 to upgrade and on my list are an external SSD (my storage drive is very old it’s from 2011 1TB) PSU (currently Corsair 750w also from 2011) and Pascal up from a GTX 670 Gigabyte Windforce (I know a GTX 1080 will be way overkill for GW2 if it’s playable on a 670 but what if I wanna play Crysis 3 at full settings with some headroom for recording?)
With enameled crimson, shadow red, electro pink, electro yellow, enameled generation, and sand:
Karka queen quest chain for powerful bloods and just kill everything you see. Some of the mobs in the water drop armored scales and vicious fangs too. Although karkas aren’t that great to solo due to their cheap high damage rapid fire.
