Race has nothing to do with stats.

As far as dmg goes, warriors are built for that, and that’s the only thing they’re very good at, so it’s totally fine in my book.

Guard’s hp are fine too. Warrior have 20k hp, but no protection, blind, passive regen (virtue), aegis, heal on roll, active regen (boon), aoe blind istant cast, c*rapload of blocks/invuln…

Guardians are much more durable than Wars even with 8k hp less.

I’d take 8k Hp, better Regen, massive amount of stuns/blocks (because we all know, not being able to do damage is better then having to heal through dmg), super mobility (again, Negation > Reduction)…

Warriors are in a better place then Guardians right now, for sure.

PvP is considerably different than WvW due to all the healing and boon duration nerf’s we recieved.

Go look up Rurik Armor on the TP, its considerably cheaper than Clerics.

It’s a fun build and probably the most troll build we have. You can kite people around for quite abit. Just don’t expect to be burst’n anyone down w/ a flurry of huge dmg spiking!

It appears that on Warriors this rune set is a tad ridiculous due to existence of a trait that already does the same thing. But what about other classes? Any Guardians trying out these runes? I’m sure Ring of Warding/Line of Warding could be used to achieve some nice stacks too.

A guardian friend was getting some 20+ stacks from RoW, LoW, and Sanctuary just messing around.

Yep, it’s ridiculous.. and even worse, people complaining about warriors in 1v1 stun locking… guradians are doing this to zergs…. there ain’t no cap on how many people can run into our wardings.

Pretty strong trio.

Good, fun /assist Train w/ lots of lockdowns and mobility.

Fixes for these are being worked on. As well as changes to the WvW achievements to make them more in line with all the other achievements in the game. And to reward a suitable amount of achievement points. However, making changes to achievements that are already live is far more complicated than it would seem and we have focused on other areas so far. All your posts blatantly say Guardians are underpowered and Warriors are overpowered. You list little to no reason why and you offer no support to your arguments.

Guardians have many things Warriors do not, including protection and many ways to cleans conditions and help your party through combo fields and other means.

If you like warrior so much, play it. However watch out for things like Poison which completely counters you fully.

Capturing the 3 points while you hold the Garrison should open DF – > A place to farm Real Coin for WvW’ers w/o taking out the WORLD VS WORLD.

It would also be a place for PVE’r’s to ~want~ to go to, while giving us PvP’ers a place to farm PvE’ers.

Bleeds can add up and it wasn’t difficult to get 5-6 bleeds: its still 500+dmg per sec…

Timing Chain interrupt is tricky, most people cast chains and immediately pull… I’ve found they are best used preemptively…. they add a nice dot and if you wait 1-2 ticks you can usually get them while they’re casting an ability… causing an interrupt.

I used bane when I expect them to use something. With the cast time on it, you really need to have a good feel for the flow of what’s going on: they’re casting a 1s ability and our cast time is 1s… going to be near impossible to interrupt if you wait for them to start to cast…. just takes an understanding of the classes abilities and their rotations is all.

Yes, the issue w/ this build is the lack of condi removal… though it does have 3 condi’s removed every 10s from having improved signets. =]

For Dueling:

I got worked 7 times in a row by a Condi (S/S + Bow) Warrior. lol Just didn’t have enough Condi removal and Healing.

I also got beat up pretty bad by the new meta-interupt-confusion Engi.

Stunlock warriors weren’t an issue, there’s enough HP to eat up a 100b.

Outside of that, I didn’t get a chance to duel a necro/ranger/thief.

CMF:

Wardings – Shield – Chains. They all can interrupt.

Take a look at the Open Field, I slowed it down just to show that aspect.

As for the dmg, that was excatly my thought process behind the build: Burn, Retal, Confusion… then added in Bleed on Crit and Bleed on Wpn Swap (along w/ Vuln from Scepter) for some coverage.

It’s a very solid rune and you’ll be glad you have a set of soilder’s for WvW.

To answer your question, you will get a boon first.

With the current PvE chain of events, just PvE for 45 min or 1.5 hours and spend the rest of the days WvW-ing.

Your passion is in WvW but you need to fund that passion/hobby and PvE is the solution to that.

The fact that there are such blatant discrepancies in WvW’s ability to generate coin / gear, is absolutely appalling.

You might make 5g an evening, but you’re going to spend 1.5g+ of that on food & repairs.

I log in to play the aspect of the game I enjoy and because of that, I’m segregated and marginalized from any halfway decent Gear Skins and Achievement Point Progression (WvW Achievements are FK"N RIDICULOUS).

Simple Fix -
Signet of Mercy:
Passive – Heals you for 180.
Active – Rez’s 3 Players in a Target-able Area.

EDIT: Make it Scale-able 0.15

kind of excited for it but also bummed, because it looks like it is reliant on asuran traits. So its more of an asuran build than a guardian build.

The build i"m working on has zero Asuran Utilities, not to worry.

All kidding aside, just something I threw together very late last night, and after 3hrs of GvG and Drinking…

It did get me thinking this morning and I put together a build I think will actually work… even in larger scale fights where I’m being focused down.

Guardian Spec’n 0/0/0/20/20…. Symbols Heal / VoR 25% effective… w/ 1000healing:
- Symbol Heal for 187
- VoR Heal for 189
- Shelter/30s – 176

Total – 552/s

The Warrior Equips a Healing Signet w/ ZERO +healing and 15 points into Defense:
- Healing Signet – 398
- Adrenal Heal – 120

Total – 518/s

How is this not broken?

Oh, and they don’t have to stand in a symbol for the heal.

^^ Bunkers would loose all their burst.

The only way to kill someone is to wait for them to burst on you, pop retal, counter w/ your burst at the same time and hope they’re burning during it as well…

Time that right and you can down them.

Otherwise you’re just dodge’n around supporting others and adding a bit of pressure to negate their passive regen….

Monetize it:

1) Gems, Coin & Karma Reward each week, based on:
a) Overall Server Finish (1st, 2nd, 3rd)
b) Your Overall Contribution (based on how many levels you acquired during that week – Must have obtained AT LEAST 1 RANK to receive any reward)

IE:
1 Rank = 100% of Reward
5 Ranks = +20% of Reward
10 Ranks = +50% of Reward (this way people whose server places 3rd and achieve 10 ranks have equal earnings to the person whose server places 1st but only gained 1 rank)

2) Unique WvW Skins:
a) Skins Availability based on Rank. (Rank 0-50, Rank 50-120, Rank 120 – 150, Rank 150+)
b) Bought w/ all 3 of the following: Gems, Karma & Badges (here’s your profit)

• the base Gear should remain the same, bought w/ Badges + Coin.

3) WvW Boosters (+dmg, +run speed, +regen, +protection, etc) – Bought w/ Karma & Badges

4) Legendaries at Max WvW Rank

• New Currency Exchange: Gems <-> Badges.

It’s even more-so now w/ the MASSIVE condi meta in any kind of small roaming (ie, less than 10 people).

You will not survive the condi meta w/o 30 in Honor and it’s a good thing our Pure of Voice is bugged.

I’ve ran Hoelbrak + lemon + Purity/Gen Sigil + Healing Signet + Purity trat on my DPS build and it’s not enough w/ the amount of FOTM Engi’s and Condi Warriors out there.

That’s 3 passives on a 10s + -60s duration… the amount of condions and the INTENSITY of the stacks that can be re-applied as fast as you take them off, is breaking the melee class….

10-15 stacks of torment and confusion are the standard.

Engi / Warrior roaming grps are destroying people.

It’s just a matter of time, and we’re already setting up our grp to capitalize on this: Torment/Confusion – Epidemic Bombs coming full circle.

It’s not hard to pull off w/ 2 Engi’s, 1 Mesmer, 1-2 Guardian, 2 Warriors, and 3 Necro’s.. then 1-2 staff ele’s….

There is one build that is is making this even barable.. and it’s any variation of the Healway, so long as you have 30 in Honor and 20 in Virtues, stack up on +healing (at least 1150 base) and dem Energy Runes.

It’s a sad, sad day for DPS Guardians in WvW.

Fix Runes of Perplextion, < insert derogatory comment about how well thought out not having an ICD on Interrupt – 5 Confusion Stacks is on a melee class >;.

As for what Virtue of resolves heals for per tick lets just say I think its awesome I can really crystalize how poor it really is. Regen in this game are weak and are barely effected by hp so what are you going to do you know what I want to increase virtue of resolve healing by 20 points lets me add a bunch of healing power!

I’m sure the gearheads around here can make it more optimal. But I’ve ran this a bunch of times, ti’s fun. It’s a variation of my Scepter/Torch build and it will focus more on Retal/Bleed/Burn..

You should be able to keep up 5-6 stacks of bleed, perma burn and retal. It will have a couple condi wipes (VoR + Lyssa) and boon duration is nice…. I can’t figure a way to get might stacks in it though….

EDIT:
1) You’ll have Condi Stack weapons for the 250+ Condition damage… putting you over 1300 condi dmg.
2) Carion Coat will put you at 15.5 health.

As purely a WvW’er, I’m sitting on the following and cannot use any of it:

1) 2.5m Karma (+64 Jugs of karma)
2) 734 Skill Points
3) Every piece of gear for my character (used all badges) + 4500 badges left over

None of which is truly useful in WvW, as I already had my primary gear sets before the changes to badges.

Where’s our unique gear that we can use these aspects of the game play that we acquire in WvW?

Why are you segregating and marginalizing people who play WvW and PvP?

I have over 1650 hrs on my guardian and still no Legendary, still no map completion, still haven’t set foot into 90% of the dungeons….

Boy, do I feel mislead about a “Player vs Player” centric game.

Clearly, people are only “legendary” if they PvE.
