Don’t get me wrong, Guardian has access to a lot of heals—if you build and trait for them, that is. But when I go from playing my Warrior with Healing Signet to playing my Guardian I’m still amazed at how superior Warrior regeneration is with so little effort. For example, Healing Signet + Adrenal Health (minor trait) grants a warrior approximately 500 health per second in full Berserker gear and full Berserker trait. Pair that with Warrior’s health pool and I rarely ever pay any attention to my Warrior’s health in PvE gameplay. That’s pretty insane.
Currently Virtue of Resolve heals for ~100 with a full Berserker build. Now I’m not suggesting it be anywhere near Healing Signet, but surely increasing it to 150-200 wouldn’t be game breaking considering Guardian was given the lowest HP pool in exchange for “more healing”
So ya want it to be 250, then be able to 1250 hp/s (to 5 group.)
On a non-#6?
Sure, as long as you buff every single passive heal in the game to compensate.

1) Sacrifice 30 points into honor
2) Completely bypass PoV which is probably one of the best traits in the game, so that’s never going to happen
3) Have all party members within 600 range, permanently, otherwise they lose out on this Resolve HoTShout warrior can achieve near-same results by traiting healing shouts, except have better results, because in the end they can still sit in berserker gear no matter what.
Please, leave the forums. Every post you have is either
1) Completely overpowered warrior suggestion
2) Completely irrational reasoning against other classes getting improvements
You won’t out-heal wars in the long run, and with a healing-built guard you certainly won’t out-mitigate them. With this healing build, if he takes healing signet and adrenal health, he’s sitting on a 350 regen, a 205 adrenal regen, and a 475 signet regen. He’s got over 1k hp/sec. All passive. You can’t even hope to come close to that as a guard.

You can tweek it however you want… but that’s the basics… and by tweek I mean, less protection (IE – Grove Runes sitting at 6s of protection every 10s ~OR~ Dwyana – Regen).
A build like this is going to have:
1) Regen;
a) Dodged March 6/10s. (240 p/s) ;
b) Signet (438 p/s)
c) Adrenaline (166p/s)2) AOE Shout Heal 600 range (vs Guard Dodge @250):
a) Shake it Off – 2308 every 20s
b) For Great Justice – 2308 every 20s
c) On my Mark – 2308 every 24s
d) Shake it Off Traited – 2308 every 30s3) Condi Removal
a) 66% Reduction on Snares/Immobilize
b) 40% Reducution on normal conditions
c) Cleansing Ire – w/ Shout Trait-ed for Adrenaline on hit – basically always have 2 bars of Adrenaline for condi removal
d) Shake it off – Every 20s
c) Trait-ed Shake it off Passive – Cures 2 when you have 2 – every 30s4) 1945 Power ; 30% Crit Change (Fury is 12s/20s) ; 80% crit change when stunned.
5) If you want Mobility in this build.. you just change out weapons… That’s it.
A) It lacks crit damage… but honestly.. you’re not burst’n, you’re sustain tank’n which is the builds we’re comparing…. (oh, and you can go celestial trinkets and get just as good stats).
B) It lacks Stability.
The guardian does NOT come close to these types of numbers.
EDIT: BTW… that’s 98,680 health over 1 min and over 23,080 for your team (600 range).

Yeah Akamon, the fight would have been completely different if they had just 1 person w/ Stability, Mist Form or Shadowstep stomping… guess they were just on cooldowns the whole 16 mins.. lol
1) Achievements / Progression – We’re important too, and when we do venture out into the Living World, those underlings should know who we are.
2) WvW specific ’Shiny’s’: Gear / Loot / Craftings etc…
3) Higher Defense Rewards – More Defense Capabilities (IE: 300).
So I hadn’t log’d on in 40 days. Needed a break, was super jaded over what has/is our class and the balance around it…
Came back a couple days after the patch to see what was in store. Made a few changes to my builds and here’s what I got.
My Zealous Defender build is a bit more tanky and less GC, and figure’d it’s time to give it out since there was a slight buff to Meditations…

If they continue to buff ~everyone elses~ condi removal, it will begin to take us out of the pigeon hole we’re currently in.
We’re already seeing ~some~ of this. Even though ‘we’ got hit hard w/ the POV nerf (yes, it was a nerf and a bug all at the same time), other classes did get some added stability/condi removal, which has helped a bit.
Here is the bottom line: Guardians are defensive by nature and our defense was already good. Everyone elses was HORRIBLE… now they’re buffing everyone elses Defense… they should be buffing our OFFENSE.
That’s balance.

Now take everything everyone has said here and apply it to WvW…. which is where the Guardian starts to lack severely due to large area’s where Mobility is king and Guardians have very little consistency in terms of staying on their target.
There in lies the issue w/ buffing one or the other (IE: PvP or WvW).
Give Guardians Soft CC in PvP… all hell will break loose.
Don’t give Guardians Soft CC in WvW and we’ll continue to be pin cushions and forced to Bunker.

Work on dodging into your enemy before MB. You’re loosing alot of healing for both yourself and your grp. Also, you would have connected more of your MB’s.
Same can be said before you Leap w/ the GS… it will also get you a bit more distance.

EDIT: More Targeting. Doesn’t always have to be the focus. Sometimes you put it on the High DPS or Condi (Necro/Engi) Class. It’s one you want to use your interupt on while your MA (Main Assist) is who you follow for DPS/Spiking.

It’s ok though, all the fanfare about how good it was going to be did make the build up humorous.
Focused Mind should have been: 5s Swiftness, 5s Fury, 3s Haste.
Zeal Symbol lines should have been consolidated:
- Symbolic Exposure and Power – Master
- Symbolic Chilling – Grandmaster.
The list goes on and on and on. Zeal and Radiance need more synergy. Period.
I mean look at zeal… we’ve got Symbols, Spirit Weapons, Hammer/Scepter, Greatsword, Focus… CONDITIONS (lawl…. LAWL)… it’s all over the fk’n map.
Video points to exactly why the experienced guardians are shelving their beloved class: We have to spend all our points to get great sustain w/ kitten DAMAGE, whereas the “other” class has GREAT DAMAGE and GREAT Sustain w/ just a measly 20 points into Defense….
And don’t even get me started if they go 0/10/20/30/10 w/ a shout hammer + axe/sheild build.
Re-roll: Warrior.
You didn’t really kill anyone and each person could have ran away whenever they wanted.
This is not to take a shot at your skill…. It’s to take a shot at the idiotic Dev’s who seem to believe the class is just fine.

Berserker meditation guardian is one of the best professions in this game.
Guardian needs little changes, a few tweaks here and there, like increasing the accuracy of sword 3, decreasing the cooldowns on shield skills.
This class surely does not need a major buff, it is already strong as it is right now. Any major buff would make guardian dominate all the other classes.

I don’t get it though. Seems like your Zealous Defender could get some entertaining play out of the meditation change.
It is far from insignificant, but I think that we’ll be able to work around the PoV nerf. I think it will hit group contribution harder actual guardian survivability.
Are you crazy? We actually get some consistent and reliable accesses to fury, and you’re complaining? My Guardian can already heal better and take more damage than any Warrior, but now I can make use of my +30% crit damage with constant fury. This patch is huge, at least for me.
Either way, how about you way for the patch notes, huh? The devs said like 100 times that they didn’t mention all the changes, just be patient.

Here’s the bottom line as to why it’s “Meh”…. 3 other classes basically give perma fury up while running in a group…. thus, a ZERO SUM ‘buff’.
Sure the fury will be nice for 1v1’s… lawl. DuelWars2.
Outside of that, this patch was utter crap for Guardians.
Did we really need more buff’s to Consecrations? I mean, they basically buffed an area of play that we already dominated… POINT CONTROL.
In fact, it was a huge nerf to our small grp roaming support, which is all we really had going for us in this incredibly STUPID condi meta.

You need to realize, the builds people are talking about here are for 1v1 encounters in WvW.
Any 2 people with half a brain is going to down you so fast you’re not going to get a chance to attack.
Burst Roaming on a Guard is about getting them while they’re unexpected…. reason being, our “Burst” is all about the setup. It’s not ~on Demand~ like every other class in pwr builds.
It’s also ~VERY~ telegraphed.

With Celestials you basically get Crit Damage for free – its like tagged on the gear as an after thought – you get nearly Beserker or Valk level of Crit Damage for free.
On every other piece of gear it has a big cost to another stat. Thus why a full set of Celestial is so nice for a Guardian.

I think your two posts recap whats my point is, there are two pieces worth taking if you are looking for raw stats. Have you done the math on weapons, are they in the same shape as trinkets?Dont worry, you didnt spill anything, its one of the builds i play also. The 0/5/30/30/5 was actaully one of the few times i ran that distribution with celestials.
Yes it is a minor difference but its still there and as a gear that cant specialize in any area the effective stats should be slightly higher, other wise its just an option for the lazy.

what you describe isnt optimal, its convenient. You choose to swap build and keep the gear. When i swap build i also swap gear. Which is my point.The added damage from condition damage in the aoe burn is just really small. If there was condition duration and boon duration in the gear (0,5-1% per piece) it would definitely be worth stacking this gear.
The gear isnt max effective stats and it cant specialize. A gear that cant specialize should have higher overall effective stats to compensate.

If you, as a roamer or small group player, Amins, are not doing such with the recent WvW patch, you are doing something wrong. Not sure why you are complaining here, really.
It’s the fact that we’ve been reduced to Cleanse / Stability Bots.
That’s what is so frustrating…
They haven’t done ~any~ improvements to our Zeal / Radiance line (for WvW) that would make anyone put more than 10 in zeal and 15 in radiance.
I’ve always loved pwer builds (Zealous Defender) and I’ve always tried to make the most of them, but the Guardian class just fails at it in WvW.
I’m pretty sure most people don’t go Zeal in PvE builds either…. please correct me if I’m wrong…
Guardians in Group situations are good. They are. But they’re good because of Condi Removal, Stability and Healing.

In today’s meta, Guardians are nothing more than Cleanse and Stability bots.
@Brutality – They would need to come up w/ a something that resembled the Ascended pwr/prec/cd%/Vit jewelry… even then, the watering down of distribution would occur, still reducing our dmg (while marginally increasing our survivability)… tough/vit/heal/pwr.
Might as well just go full celestial.
The screwed the pooch on the condi gear, making it an all in one gear spec now: Dire is awesome (Tough/Vit/Condi) or the incredible Apoth gear.
Anet’s counter… more condi removal…

Because they can’t change the stat distribution to all the gear as it would be seen as a huge backpedal nor can/will they change the function of the stat.

You’re Clueless Anet.
Hallowed Ground is perfectly fine: Don’t forget, as you’re moving through the lines, you now have a symbol behind you that’s proc’n 375 healing per second as your squishy DPS run through it for the push…. it makes for a great boost to health for both GvG and ZvZ.
For anything less than that, it’s not really worth it imo.
People are right though, 0/0/30/30/10 is probably going to be better suited.
This is a PvE game.
It is not an eSport Game.
It is not a PvP Game.
It is not a WvW Game.
The above mentioned “Modes” are just mini-games within the World of PvE.
Once you accept this, things become much brighter because you stop logging on and buying Gems. =]
This cold fact hit very hard after the leaked patch and I haven’t log’d onto my Guard since.
