I’ve tried it. With 1300hp I think it was giving me around 56hp per hit in return. Its a positive change but as I said, I feel the trait is misplaced. It doesn’t make much sense, in order for a zeal trait to scale, you need healing power.

They should have made it scale w/ POWER, not Healing Power.

This way it wouldn’t become OP when you stack it up w/ a Dodge Roll Healing…

It would have opened up a 20/15/30/x/x build, or soemthing to that extent….

Very solid in a multitude of gameplay situations. One of, if not ‘the’ best support guardian WvW small Ops team/group builds.

Not that great in 1v1 situations (as it’ll take awhile to kill something), but Great build up to ZvZ.

On a serious note – It should have been EQUAL to Smite Condition in Damage… at minimum.

The damage doesn’t justify the EXTREMELY long cooldowns.

There are definitely two different Med. Play styles that I play and I can live w/ one of them: GS + Sword/X.

GS + Sword/X is ‘good’. There’s a ton of porting around, mobility is ~good enough~ and they’re on a short enough cool-down that when they gain distance on you, you can jump back in their face.

I still dislike having not a snare in this situation (A Melee class w/o a snare… LOL), but whatever. Dev’s aren’t going to change it. They can’t figure it out.

The other is Hammer + Mace/X. It’s absolutely abysmal when it comes to staying on a target. Couple this w/ no snare no swiftness… RIDICULOUS.

Both Hammer and Mace should have a 2s Chill/Cripple on the second chain of the #1 skill, and increase the casting time to .75 (3/4).

ROW also needs the same QoL change warriors received.

I was out ran by a spectral walk necro yesterday, while running a hammer/mace med build w/ runes of the speed.

I just stopped and /laugh -> /cry. The necro turned around and /cry and we went on our merry way.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again… Meditations should give the Fury and Swiftness (same duration) when trait-ed.

@OP: Please stop.

We are Shaman Buff Bots. Just macro a /stick and re-roll warrior or engi, and then keybind SYG, SY, HTL, Antitoxin Spray and Renewed Focus, along w/ Empower & SoS to better support of your main.

We never got the numbers for the skill until the patch was delivered and he even said that we could not have a meaningful discussion without them.

I generally like to give the benefit of the doubt for these types of things but it really does seem like they were just trying to pacify us with a few minor buffs. I mean… the buff I was looking forward to the most was the 5% damage boost to 1h sword which the devs themselves said was lacking.

If they would have just popped in every now and then and said “Hey, we like this idea and are considering it” or “No, I don’t think that would work” or just some acknowledgement that they are reading it would have been nice. At this point, it seems like our feedback/effort is just being ignored.

If we aren’t being ignored, I would like to know what the devs roadmap for the class is. What specific issues do the devs see with guards right now? What concerns do the devs have with making changes to fix said issues? And (I don’t see them providing this but…) potential changes that are being looked into.

My issue w/ the ZD build is that it does NOTHING for my team, respectively.

And that just sucks.

Meditations should:
1) Heal Allies if Traited.
2) Provide the Boon/Utilities to Allies if Traited (Fury / Condi Wipe).

• Med’s should also provide swiftness OR cripple/chill.

It’s a fun, bursty build but if a buddy is in trouble.. not much you can do for them.

Healing has increased slightly, as I see 40’s regularly now instead of 26’s. I still don’t like the new mediation heal. I’m “Forcing” myself to keep it on the bar, looking for some hidden gem within the minds of the devs… but ya know, I think they’re gem-less when it comes to anything outside of ZvZ in WvW.

Guardians are fine in Pve because mobs stand still, guardians are fine in sPvP because people have to stand in rings, which will be changing, and will honestly show some glaring flaws. Guardians in WvW are pretty much limited to one build in group play, and gimmick burst builds for roaming. I think the devs are very short sighted and created a skill that has basically 1 optimal time to use, which will equate to be very limited outside of sPvP due to our inability to stay on a target unless we’re using GS + S/x….

If you watched and looked at the video, it will excel at a Hammer / Mace+F type build due to symbols/burning/big burst hits.

That is not GS/Sword type play, which is our “pressure” build. Not our “AoE Burst Build”.

Now take into account once you go w/ our AoE Burst Builds (One example: my hammer/mace video’s), there is only ONE gap closer, and that’s JI.

This ability ~needs~ to be instant, just like every other Mediation.

They also need to address soft CC with Hammer/Mace. It’s ridiculous that after 1.5yrs of play from Beta -> Present, this is STILL a severe issue.

Glass Cannon/Zerker build w/o Soft CC = Dead.

I really cannot believe how neglected our DPS builds are in WvW when you start to get into the 5-10 vs 10+.

EDIT: Currently as the skill is shown, there are TOO MANY ways to counter it. Think about it… not only can it be countered by us being soft cc’d and kited, but dazed/stunned/blinded, characters stealthing/blinking, us being knocked back….

For an ability that we’re suppose to use when we’re loosing health, it’s just too easy to counter.

It will be reverted to the base heal (w/ traited mediation so roughly 3.8k) and anything other gained from damage will be an unreliable"bonus".

Poor Form for an ability we’re suppose to “Rely Upon”.

@Crapgame – Mace can pump out some really good numbers. I’ve seen the 3’rd chain on #1 hitin the 5k range. Bascially what Akamon said. The burst potential for a Mace/Focus could possible be the highest we have – Don’t discount Ray of Judgement in there either -> SoW+Symbol+JI -> Blind (Ray+VoJ) + Protectors /wpn swap

My Hammer/Mace+Focus build is getting better and better….

This will have very little effect on Zerg vs Zerg due to splash aoe.

It’s a great PvP build too – especially w/ the updated shattered aegis AoE Burst Build- 25/0/30/5/10.
