Winter's Presence: JP req? :(

I really don’t get what all the complaints are about? It’s been the same for three years just because they tied an item to it? Just do the kitten puzzle you’re bound to get it. I ran it 3x in about 10min. This puzzle is easy compared to some in the current game or previous celebrations ex. mad kings clocktower.

It’s not really that simple. For some players, JPs aren’t something they’re going to “just get” no matter how many times they do it. Some just don’t have the aptitude for it and no amount of time thrown at it is going to change that.

Also, “easy” is a subjective term. For plenty, this puzzle isn’t “easy” compared to others at all.

Just sayin’.

Same can be argued with any other activities.
Some people may not have time to realistically earn 10k drinks from 10k presents during the wintersday period (roughly 30 days?) because of limited play-time.

I’d expect 95% of people find the 10k drink more unreasonable compare to that 5% who think JP is unreasonable. So you want Anet to address the issue for that 5% and leave 95% of players to rot then?

Yes I do complain about the JP.

10k drinks looks much, but I got at least 500 of it while playing Wintersday for one day. You don’t have to buy it all and now. You can get the gifts for gold, karma or just playing the festival. Also the prices will drop the longer the festival goes and there are several ways to obtain gold. But being not able to finish the JP means “go KITTEN yourself”, you will not get this skin.

And you can keep trying for JP like you do for the drinks and eventually you will get lucky and win 3 times. Or watch a youtube video and see how other people do it.
Stop making excuses. This JP is not even considered hard by most. You can eventually do it if you practice for a few hours despite how bad you are.

Your logic is weird.
You’re ok to work on one thing but not others, which is significantly less work?

If alternative is possible, how about give us an alternative for not consuming 10k drinks? Everyone wishes alternative right?

Chak Gerent a bit too easy now

in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns

Aomine.5012

Hi, I’m sure many of you haven’t really heard about us but I run the guild TDMS, which was formed due to people getting tired of pugging Chak Gerent. While yes before the scaling was a bit of a problem with Gerent due to it being tricky to get the numbers right just in case pugs decided to randomly join in a lane, but that kinda added to some of the fun. I mean we all enjoyed the chance at a failure, even though we had roughly a 85% success rate so we didn’t fail much, but now due to the changes it has become way to easy where we actually get bored due to us having it dead by p2 on all lanes and sometimes almost killing it in p1 in some lanes!

So what I wanted to say was that, I know this might never happen, there should be some form of a challenge mote for those of us that want it be hard again with some better rewards, so that way you can keep it how it is now for pugs who want to finish their collection and offer better rewards for those who want it hard. It could be along the lines that in challenge mote Gerent has access to all of his abilities in a perma-broken bar phase with some form of a shield phase where you have to kill 2 adds while still having the same amount of time between burrowed phases. This would add the challenge that only a coordinated map can accomplish instead of one that was formed 20 min before it spawned. Like I said, I know the likely hood of this happening is very low but I’m interested on hearing what other people think of something along the lines of a challenge mote being implemented.

If you want hard contents, please just go do raids or Extreme mode from Story mode.

Let’s be honest, no-one enjoys random failure after 2 hours of preparation.

Karma Material bag no leathers, intended?

So it’s good that Anet increases the supply of t1~t4 woods and linons by allowing us to easily use karma to obtain them.

But I am wondering why leathers, which has some of the lowest supply and highest demand, and are generally harder to get for the low level tiers, are not included in the bag.

Is this intended?

Hey all. Just wanted pop in give some insight on this change. First off, sorry for the undocumented change. It is always our goal to get everything in the release notes, in spite of what the last few updates may have led you to believe
Now, this reduction in refinement is one of a few different options we were looking at to bring the cost of wood back in line, but it wasn’t actually intended to ship yet. Since it is out there now, enjoy! But we will be keeping an eye on the economy of this and other common materials. If in the future things crash or explode (that’s economy talk for “crash” or “explode”) the refinement recipes are one area we can adjust to keep things stable.
Merry Wintersday!

Yes but you do realize you always go about this like a bull in a china shop! reducing it from 4 to 3 and then seeing how it was for a month and then to 2 if needed is a MUCH more responsible way to handle this. also for all those that have had to buy and or make using 4, this is a realkittenfrom anet, especially as you are giving free cash to the fractal guys.

Seriously why are you guys mad?

Can’t you have some heart for people who’s actually making a precursor?
Can you stop exploiting the market already?

The price of wood is in line with ore now, which is much more reasonable.

The tiger is now the best kitten for dps. Tiger > Stalker = Panther > Lynx > Snow Leopard. There are no reasons to not use a tiger in pve. In pvp, smokescale is still very good, despite getting hit by the nerf bat three times.

Bristleback + Strength of the Pack does more damage than this lol.

Upcoming Balance Changes: Week of December 14, 2015

Aomine.5012

A message from the Balance Team:

As mentioned in our “Road Ahead for 2015” blog, our strategy for adjusting the meta-game in Guild Wars 2 after the release of Heart of Thorns focuses on releasing balance updates on a set cycle – each and every quarter.

Your strategy isn’t good.

First of all you need to fix broken skills that do 17-20k damage like Coalescence of Ruin or Gun Flame on the week we find out the issues, not 3 months later, because these press 1 button to win skills are ruining the game for everyone in the competitive modes.

Secondly, we don’t want “meta changes” where you are just stuck into playing the same build for 3 months. We want balanced skills so that we can have Build variety as it was promised with the new trait system. The players should be dictating the meta by creative thinking, Anet shouldn’t be dictating it for them and cornering them into meta-builds that they have no choice to run, as it currently is.

This, this, and this.

See how this guy mentioned nothing about OP Tempest perma sustain + damage reduction + immune condition + perma reflect? (Not to mention to the whole group)

That guy is an Ele main. Don’t trust him lol..
He cries about 2 WEAK PVP weapons because those 2 actually hurt Tempest.
How’s 2 weak PVP weapons ruining the game more than Tempest, Chrono and Mallyx Rev?

Everyone who get 1/2 shotted by a thief should simply start watching the screen and their char’s back while playing… don’t be surprised to get a backstab if you stand on a high wall near mid in the foefire without watching your surrounding. Playing braindead zerker and complaining about getting downed quickly is just… ridiculous. People hate thieves because having one in the opposite team means you gotta THINK, and people like to spam hard CCs and AOEs and see big numbers without thinking too much.
Note: that was theoretical. There’s not even 1 single thief build that can 1 shot somebody. Not even the signet-kamikaza. Backstab can get a maximum of 9k atm, and requires a hell lot of set ups to actually land it. Not to mention you’re most likely to get hit by random AOE or passive trait or stuff like that even before you land it. People who complain about thieves make me get amused and angry at the same time…

But… but the E-spot Dream

Ah, nvm it’s just a dream anyway.
If they ever care about E-sport, they should have just split PVE and PVP ages ago.

So I’ve done many ranked games now,

and i am doing well.

HOWEVER. the amount of people who are questioning whether thief is even viable in pvp is mad.

Not only is the pep waiting area empty of thieves, people would rather the few thieves left re roll to another class.

i can understand that trap guards are a pain

BUT thats it.

anyone else wondering why this is?

p.s. trap guards are the easiest role to play. you’re all cowards if you play trap guards!

furthermore,

running into games solo queue to find a premade with 3 trap guards is not funny.

Trap Guard is not even the biggest concern.

Cond Reaper, Bunker Chrono, and Tempest is so much worse.
They just spam their evade/block, spam their passive burn, passive daze, perma protection, perma chill, insane condition damage and watch you die.

They don’t need to do much. Just click some bottoms, which are either all instant or 1/4 cast or passively triggered or on swap or AOE, for a free kill while you try so hard just to survive.

Reason to NOT select an Elite Specialization?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Aomine.5012

Aomine.5012

In general… no. In specifics…

#1: Dragonhunter doesn’t mesh well with Guardian’s core feature. If you want to keep instantaneous virtues, supporting boons, and more flexibility in your build, you can go core Guardian and not many will bat an eye.

#2: The Scrapper is a mixed bag, having an excellent weapon but meh utilities and traits. If you aren’t using the hammer, then there’s little reason to be a scrapper. Mostly condi sets, though.

#3: The Druid is loaded with group support and all, but if you ever find yourself by yourself, you’ll want to be running core ranger.

#4: Tempest is a mixed bag. Though personally I love the stunbreakds and overloads it gives, there’s still plenty reason to go into other trait lines. Not every environment is overload friendly, as you’ll learn eventually.

#5: I don’t play berserker, but I hear this is basically a condi heavy spec, so it isn’t always the best to run it.

#6: You gotta go reaper.

#7: You gotta go chronomancer

#8: You gotta go daredevil.

#9: you gotta go herald.

DH and Scrapper is pretty wrong.

DH Virtue, generally speaking, is so much better than Core Guardian’s Virtue.
F1 free pull on a very short CD.
F2 Huge heal with so much shortened CD. In PVE, new F2 outclass old F2 100%
F3 is kinda ridiculous. It’s not a projectile block, but BLOCK EVERYTHING in front of you. Core Guardian F3 does not come close.

Only reason that old Virtue may do better is on PVP Burning guardian, which you want your f1 to be instantaneous that you can blind stomp with F1 or F3.

Scrapper’s utility is way under-valued. Gyro is alot better than people make it be.
-50% damage on a 20 cd is a huge survivability boost.
Stealth Gyro is instantaneous, and even outperform thief’s stealth.
Combo Gyro can be utilized pretty well with lightning field that does massive aoe damage.
Cleanse Gyro is a very short cd consistent cleanse.

As for Reaper, if you play a MM Zerk Necro, you don’t need Reaper at all.
2 lines for MM and one Soul reaping is better for Zerk MM Nero. Dagger/Warhorn is better than GS in most cases too.

However, if you want to play condition Necro, you must go Reaper. It’s so much stronger than any variant condition necro spec.

Reason to NOT select an Elite Specialization?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Aomine.5012

A reason to not select an elite specialisation… Well, my main (elementalist) has maxed skill points and can max tempest at any time if I want to, but I’m not because his staff skills are more powerful than the warhorn, and the build I’m using is also more powerful than if I were to run tempest, so there is zero incentive for me to use his specialisation right now. Only thing I’m using from the specialisation is the shoulder skin.

LOL, Tempest is so much better than Ele core even w/o using war-horn.

Donnu why you think you’re obliged to use E-spec weapon when you trait for E-spec.

You miss out so much for not using Tempest.

2 cents.

If all you do is nerf those 2, you’ll still have Tempests/Druids bunkering it up like before with Scrappers providing similar sustain with higher damage-output. Gotta look at the whole picture, not just these 2.

Agree with you here. EVERY SINGLE ELITE SPEC does too much, probably even berserker (although it is hard to tell b/c that mythical beast is rarely seen). If you nerf just the top dog, then the mantle just shifts slightly to the next guy and you don’t really change anything.

However, at least things like druid/tempest/scrapper etc. get their defense with a little more counterplay (not hard mitigation in the form of evades/blocks/invulns/etc.) making them succumb to focus-fire a bit easier. That isn’t to say they aren’t over-tuned, but since there is a stubborn refusal to do anything but the most token of balances, I’d say this the bare minimum.

At the very least, however, they should make well of precog give invuln and prevent capture-point contribution. That would at least make bunker mesmers much worse at holding 1vX for so long without getting decapped.

You can’t simply nerf bunkers while leaving the burst builds untouched, that’s just ridiculous

-Dragon Hunter, Burn Guardian, Thief, Chronoshatter, Reaper…these are not gone anywhere, they’re still here with us

Extreme bunkers exist as a consequence of Extreme Burst

Na, the current top bunker builds can handle any burst build 1 v 2 pretty handily because it uses active invulnerable/evade/block on a short cool down or some passive perma -40% damage, passive aura spam, passive on swap trait/sigil, passive heal, passive immune cond to soak up everything.

The broken part is those bunkers not only hold well against 1 v x, it also is very good at 1 v 1. If you use a non-bunker against them, you not only can’t kill them, they also have quite a high chance to kill you instead.

Best example is Tempest VS Thief/Daredevil. Tempest can soak up everything thief throws at them , they can also easily use their passive proc and aoe spam to kill thief passively. If you don’t believe, que up your thief right now in ranked battle and see how it fair right now.

The question is..can you play a non bunker ele in general and not being one shotted by a thief or other power build? In three years nobody has been able to do that, no even TOP ESL players like @Zoose and @Phantaram.
But apparently being unable to play a non bunker ele …it’s ok, it’s balanced.

Here the best quote you’ll ever read on the forum

Vague Memory.2817
Anet trys to balance using self-interested views from the forum rather than being more objective, that is why after a balance patch things just get worse. There are blatant changes that need to be made that focuses PvP on player skill rather than passive or op effects, but they don’t have the courage to make these changes because of the outrage from people who will lose their advantage over others. Anet’s response is to even things out by giving everyone OPness which unbalances things even more.

So the solution is throwing a D/D 2.0 to Tempest.

Make sense.

But all being said, I do like Tempest very much and don’t want them lose this bunker ability that’d make Tempest suffer in HoT maps or raid.
Wish Anet just freaking separate pve and pvp skills already and nerf everything to ground in pvp for the balance.

Just faced one.

Even 2 v 1 you can hardly touch him.

Alacrity, in addition to sword 2, shield 4 , f4, well, with f5 double spam makes bunker Chrono nearly untouchable 95% of the time.

There’s next to no counter to it.
The only thing that are close to being the counter is condition Rev, which the only reason it’s able to counter chrono is because Mallyx torment pulse and burn pulse are UNEVADABLE and UNBLOCKABLE.

Basically bunker Chrono is a completely brainless spec that basically just spam their rotation to get their immortality.

You’d have some good points if you weren’t just so stupendously wrong.

F5 prevents point capture. So does F4. There are multiple skills that break through evades and many skills that break through blocks.

The only thing blocking you from countering bunker Mesmer is a lack of reading comprehension. Try starting with my first reply in this thread, you might learn something.

Other than some weird trait procs , not many things go through evade.

People choose Mallyx for a reason. They’re durable, and they proc those exact traits that’re unblockable and unevadable.

And it seems the best way to counter cancer build is using another cancer build.

Yeah sure, there’re alot of unblockable skills from Warrior, so why can’t we see one anymore? Not just top team, even the normal ranked matches they completely disappeared. What I see every single matches are 2+ bunker Mesmer and 2+ Reapers and 2+ Tempests.

That’s because if they did it any other way, they risked destroying the precursor market which they said they did not want to do.

And that’s precisely the problem, Anet cares more about the sanctity of their pixel weapon economy than whether their players are actually having fun.

+1.

The old precursors were like 50~100g back then anyway.
Why’s it suddenly “destroyed” when they becomes cheaper again?

Anet, why is it that the Tangled Depths Meta is harder than the final map with a DRAGON?

Perhaps Chak should be attempting world domination because right now, they’re doing a pretty good job at making us fail every single TD Meta.

I’ve now been in over 30 attempts, most of which claimed to be ‘organised’, but ALL failed. I’ve been in multiple DS Metas, and succeeded in them. This should be the other way around.

Whoever it was that decided the health pools of the 4 Legendary Chak needs to be fired in my opinion. The 3rd map should NOT be harder than the last.

Solution:

Decrease legendary Chak Gerent health by 5-10%.

Now you can link me all the vials of salt and say how much I just need to try more, or that we asked for hard content and what’s my problem – hard content is what RAIDS is for, not this map’s meta. Furthermore, I will simply ignore any illogical/troll comments. 30 attempts, mostly ‘organised’ that have failed, says I have tried, and tried, and tried again, I haven’t just joined ‘pug’ groups, and there is seriously something wrong with this. A little decrease in Chak health is all I’m asking Anet.

Right now, Chak are more powerful than Elder Dragons.

Tbh, all they need to do is fix one thing:

Make Chak Gerent stop for awhile and take bonus damage for the duration when the Break Bar is broken.

This should solve all the TD Meta problem.

At the minimum, if Anet refuses to do this type of change, at least REMOVE SCAR’s cannon entirely.

I think maybe it is because I am newer to this game. But none of this surprises me. The game is F2P. They have to make money somehow. These people don’t work for free. The astronomical costs of items in games is by design. Why pretend otherwise? They NEED you to pull out your credit card and buy gems or the game goes away. Purchases of the game will only go so far. To keep it running there needs to be a revenue stream.

I can understand why people are upset. To be honest I would rather have no gem store, pay a subscription and have everything earn able in game. But that isn’t happening.

This doesn’t excuse the the obvious problems stated in many other posts. I am just saying, I understand why they do this. Not just why, but why the have to do it.

Basically, a number of people are abnormally mad at anything Gem Store related because they are tee’d off about the general direction of the game, HoT (the expansion), and, in some cases, more recent Gem Store practices (such as stuffing desirable items inside of “packs” and making them only purchasable through those packs with a bunch of assorted crap that no one wants, or releasing gliders as a new feature and then making 1% of the glider skins available through actual gameplay and 99% Gem Store purchase).

In other words, people are looking for more reasons to hate on the Gem Store because they’re already mad at it and the game. It’s understandable frankly. It’s not entirely logical half the time, but it’s understandable.

So here I’m going to put some logic in it.
Your character gets like 2 new skin sets by playing HoT. The rest is through the gemstore. Every week, we get to see new outfits going through the gemstore, while not seeing any new skin unlockable by playing the expansion.
There’s a clear overwhelming balance issue here.

Now people are going with a “but it’s f2p” as an argument. The thing is, this expansion is sold the same price as the core game when it came out. But the core game came with a lot more skins than this. The core game came with a lot more maps than this.

Yeah, you’ll come back by saying, “the expansion provides whole new mechanism which is a lot of work etc”. Well I agree. But they could at least provide at least a satisfying amount of new gear set so we could further customize our character.

And then you’ll say “They didn’t have time to create many new gear skins because they focused on providing actual gameplay”… well they have time to create those outfits every week.
“But it’s f2p” uuuuuhh…

Outfits aren’t skins, end of argument. Outfits can’t be mixed and matched. They’re inferior to skins.

Yet we have those outfits that can even dye the animation part like flame, with some of them looking way better than armor skins.

They’re not inferior, they’re just easier to make.

“But it’s f2p” uuuuuhh…

This post is like 300% more logical than any of the white knight irrational blind defender of Anet.

We question about the lack of armor skins from HoT, and Anet answers it through excessive Gem Store sales RIGHT AFTER HoT launch, meaning they move all the potential armors/gliders they could have been put into HoT and move them into Gem Store.

There are 2 possibilities as to why this could happen:

1. They already created those skins during HoT production, and later choose to remove them from HoT and repackaging them as dlc in Gem Store.

2. They’re able to generate new skins at a weekly base, but choose not to put that resource into HoT category of new skins, and making the HoT skins extremely minimal.

To further proven my point, you’re only able to get the default glider from the entire HoT contents, because they remove all of them from HoT and make them all into Gem Store.

Druid seems to be the only thing ranger has to make it competitive in PvE.

Every single class in the game needs to trait their elite spec. PvE, or PvP. Maybe the only exception is condi engi and THATS it. But yeah, let’s post doom n’ gloom about it and make it seem like a ranger problem.
Sad.

TL;DR ranger is competitive in less than 1% of PvE.

Only the 1% of PvE is actually challenging. Open world meta events do not require specific class comp, fractals can be completed by naked characters, and dungeons.. lol

So yeah, ranger in the challenging part of the game, ranger is needed. I see no problem here. But lets cry about it for the sake of the forum negativity.

Please show me your video of completing a lv50+ fractal while you’re naked.

so guys as an ranger main should i go on the bifrost or twighlight i like them both the most alredy got dusk gift of the fourten and mastery but idont know if should i make a bifrsot or twighlight

If you prefer PvP – Twilight.
If you prefer PvE or Condition Builds – Bifrost.
If you have more classes – Twilight.

Not anymore. HoT changed Bifrost to lead amount of profs that can use the legendary.

+ Druid, + Revenant, + Daredvil (and already had 4).

7/9 profs use Bifrost.

5/9 profs use GS

Bifrost is a better choice for multi prof (imo). Before HoT both weapons were available to 4 professions.

I still haven’t made my GS, though it’s one of the legendaries I want. I got Bifrost however absolutely no regrets.

Very personal, But id’s say make Bifrost.

Don’t forget Sword. Before the Bifrost catchup, it was the only weapon usable on 5 professions (now it’s 7). I actually Like Bolt more then either of GS skins. Also sword is almost always the best cleave choice for their respective profession, dps wise, so it sees a lot of play in PVE content.

The problem is Bifrost’s design is pretty medicore, and lack uniqueness too.

If you really want something to show-off, go make Nevermore instead.
It’s un-tradable, and fit Druid much better.

Karma into Gold in HoT

It isn’t necessary to convert karma to gold. Queue up for PvP with characters from level 25-60 to get armor from reward track boxes. It isn’t potentially an exploit since it’s intended behavior for a level 50 to get armor drops that salvage into linen, but since karma is earned and you need lots of it for linen there’s a real cost to converting it so I don’t personally consider it an exploit, but it’s what the devs consider that counts.

The issue is never the karma cost, but the clunky design of mystic forge -.-

It’s Anet fault for over-toning certain classes, and then you’re blaming the victim who’re being punished (thief) because of Anet. They have all rights to play the profession they like to play, and if you think such decision is selfish, it means the balance of the game is way off.

Legendary Crafting, don't do it

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Aomine.5012

Aomine.5012

Precursor crafting — don’t be in a rush to do it, unless you care more about the journey and less about the costs.

TL;dR: Monetary cost and opportunity cost of legendary crafting feature far exceeds the cost of just buying the precursor off the TP.

Depends on (a) the precursor, (b) when you acquired the mats, (c.) when you want to make the legendary, and (d) if you care about maximizing monetary efficiency or maximizing ‘fun’ (and therefore, what constitutes ‘fun’ for you).

It should be no surprise that the prices for monetized items that go into precursor collections have spiked relative to pre-HoT days. It should also come as no surprise that precursor prices have tanked since launch. (We saw early signs of both every time ANet posted an official announcement about precursor ‘crafting’ details.)

Accordingly, if you compare “today’s” collection costs versus precursor costs, you’re going to find it’s very competitive, especially if you take “opportunity costs” into account. If you instead compare the same inputs using say last year’s prices, you’ll find that collecting is cheaper.

The markets are going to take another month or three to come to a new equilibrium, when people stop panicking about being ‘first’ or getting scribe to 400 or all the other collections that also use the same mats. When more and more people are starting to do their daily ascended refinement. When demand finally starts to return to something closer to pre-HoT and supply probably ends up above its old status quo.

I predict that — at that point — collections will be cheaper, perhaps substantially so.

More importantly, the point is:
Precursor crafting — don’t be in a rush to do it, unless you care more about the journey and less about the costs.

Good news to you, new legendary weapons would be coming every 3 months.

Legendary Armors are coming soon too.

They’d eat the same: 80 Spirit Wood this, 100 Deldrimor that, 80 Elonian this, 80 Bolt of Damask that, etc etc.

So the market will get spiked up yet again.

It’d take years for the market to reach to a reasonable equilibrium if Anet choose to not change anything. (like the supply of low-teir mats, or decreases the component requirement per craft, etc)

And please stop lying about the “journey” thing. I crafted my own Bolt a few weeks ago (thanks to bug stucking me for a month, or it should have be done way earlier), there’s no journey. What I spend the most time on is mining those iron ores.
It’s just a grocery list of chores + endless mining, nothing else.

And one more thing, what is so bad about precursors on TP getting cheaper because of Precursor crafting? I thought Anet cut the reward of all contents to create deflation, so people have less gold and things got cheaper right? So how come only make it half true, that things are getting increasingly more expensive while all the rewards are gutted? If they gut the reward , they should try to lower the price level too.
What’s so bad about Precursor worth like half of the current price? Many things dropped in price because of the decrease of supply of money (bl skins especially), so why not let precursor drop then? Back then precursors worth only 50~100g too, and you don’t see anyone complain about it right? In fact their price are being inflated way too much than it really worth.

ITT: People that honestly thought that legendary crafting “journey” meant they would simply get a list of items, go to TP to buy them, and it would be cheaper than buying a precursor off the bat.

The legendary crafting gives you a long term goal to work towards. You can make all of those deldrimor ingots on your own, for FAR less than 9-10g if you farm the materials yourself. That’s the point.

If you were planning to shortcut by using the TP, then take the ultimate shortcut of buying the precursor from the get-go. If you aren’t interested in speed and want to do it over time slowly for far less than buying on TP, then do legendary crafting and gather the mats yourself.

It’s really that simple. Don’t listen to OP, he doesn’t understand what the point of the crafting is.

You don’t understand what you’re talking about too.

If you want Dawn, you can gather materials yourself and make your own time-gated Deldrimor Steel Ingot too.

But here’s the difference, you can craft around 70% of the Deldrimor Steel Ingot required for the precursor crafting, then SELL THEM ALL ON TP, and then BUY DAWN right off TP.

You saved like 20 hours of scavenge hunting, and use LESS MATERIALS than if you craft the precursor yourself, this is the problem.

The core problem is Anet screwed up and let crafted precursor tradalbe, that everyone is BASING the material cost on Dusk or other high-end precursors. The ironic part is all the other precursors are using that same material too, so each precursors is competing the market and pay for the same material cost that’d have gone into Dusk, making all the other precursor crafting more expensive than they should, making the entire crafting pointless.

I doubt you’d understand my point since most people who defend this are those rich people who got everything off TP and don’t care about anything else. They’d stay irrational for eternity because they’re too rich to bother about the opportunity cost.

If it was considerably cheaper, everybody would just buy deldrimor ingots form the tp and sell the dusk they get until deldrimor got so expensive and dusk so cheap that it isnt profitable anymore.

It was implemented as a long term goal and more than a third of the crafting cost goes towards circumnavigating the daily timegate on deldrimor.
If you craft them yourself for the next 3 months, you only pay 633g, if you get all mats on current buy orders.

This is exactly why crafted precursors should be untradable.

Donnu why Anet think it otherwise…

So how about this for a solution, Anet bans all the 13 year olds who think cancer and aids are somehow an apt way of describing anything related to balance in a video game and who thinks esports are a sport and then removes PvP alltogether.

Removing PvP might seem harsh but its basically what PvPers want done to Mesmers.

I think what the OP means is new skins in HoT is way too minimal compare to the amount of gem store skins released after HoT launch.

It’s like the recent trend of games, REMOVING the original contents that could have been in game and later sell them as dlc. Some company do that alot now EVEN BEFORE THE GAME LAUNCH. They put it like a “bonus thing” for their collector edition, when in fact, they should have just put them in-game since the game it’s NOT EVEN OUT yet.

The drive of maximizing profit in the game industry has become disgusting to me. Old games are way better and way more sincere than the current trend of game company. Old game developers make their game for the enjoyment of players. (Took them 3~4 yr for that perfect game, with minimal bugs since it’s hard to patch them later in old system). New game developers make games to maximize profit only.

Along with this, I’m pretty sure when TT was released, Anet said something about it not being meant for everyone (tried to google it, but can’t come up with correct wording to get anything from when it was release). TD is the same thing.

IMO normal PUGs are not meant to be able to do every piece of content (or at least not supposed to succeed most of the time). And this is coming from a solo player.

And TT became ghosttown, even people who want to do it can’t find a group.

PUGS are meant to do Open World Meta because you can’t control the open world population, if you want challenge content, go to raid.

Theres a difference between hardcore (raids) and challenging/coordinated (TT/TD) content. Theres room for challenging (usually only due to having to coordinate) in the open world, which is currently 2 out of all the world bosses. I don’t think thats a bad ratio.
And TT/TD may become a ghost town, but those that stick with it will all be people who learned how and whats needed to get it done (thus weeding out those that just want to leech and/or not evolve/better themselves) which in turn should make it possible to get more wins.

Actually there’s no room for error for TT as compare to Gerent.

You NEED to bring certain classes. You NEED to eat food. You NEED to have dedicated might provider to maintain 25 stacks of might.

If you think you don’t need min/max for TT, it means you’re actually being carried by guilds who actually do min/max.

Abjured won cuz the other team is lower in skill, ran only 1 condi-rev (other one was glint afaik) and a very weird ranger build.

To be fair, they made very good adjustments to their builds, like noscoc ran a smart alteration of the cele-signet nec (dagger instead of scepter which is used more atm, full bunker runes and crit chance instead burning on shroud1 to maximize power-dmg against diamond skin and perma-resistance). also Tokers Thief is not ideal, but if played very well, it can work, since some physical DMG is needed anyways (again against diamond skin and resistance), reveals aren’t as dominant anymore (less glint and not as many engineers with reveal, on NA at least) and the strong cleave is decent to wear down the bunkers (like chaith said in the interview).

The meta is the worst I’ve ever experienced and ANet needs to do sth. A patch in february would possibly be devastating for GW2 PvP. Yes, they’ve made a decision not to make a patch before february 2016, but this is getting out of hand.

They said they’re going to do balance at Feb, but they already nerfed Druid/core ranger like 5 times in a month lol…

I always find it funny that Anet nerfed the druid / it’s new pets to the ground in less time than saying Lord Jebus, and yet, literal gods (Bunker Chronomancers, Revenants in general) are walking around untouched.

Anet has a fetish of destroying ranger/druid.
This has become a trend for 2 years.

They even nerf Bristleback HP and make Staff AA requires a target, even though no-one in the forum ever complain/care about such minor issues, while leaving the broken specs alone lol..

Hi everyone, I’m Tarcis, the captain of Apex Prime.
First of all, I would like to make sure that everyone knows we are not depressed at all by losing today’s match.

In fact, we know that almost every teams in Pro League on NA are going to run this comp, which is 2 Sentinel bunker Mesmers, 2 Viper Revenants, and 1 Tempest. We prepared our kitten already and treating today’s match as a chance/practice to seek a weakness from this comp. Unfortunately, we didn’t pull out our A+ games and cannot seek any weakness in time.

The reason why I’m making this thread is because that I feel extremely disappointed when I play against this comp. It is not fun to play against, and I believe it is also not fun to watch. I do understand that everyone wants to win, but this just not healthy for this game.

You may say “Hey, The Abjured still beat double bunker mesmers comp”, but if you guys realized, Final Form’s comp is slightly different than Spookie, PZ, and Never Lucky. They have a druid instead of a tempest, and even with that, they almost pull a game from Abjured. I believe Abjured can still beat the comp like this, which us, Apex, has beaten this bunker mesmers comp in scrims too. But the fact that the skill requirement for this comp is just ridiculously low.

The comp isn’t unbeatable, but the fact that this bunkiersh comp can eliminate the mechanic skill difference between players is not cool at all. In this stage, I think everyone can just make a team and play with this comp, and will be able to compete with pro league’s teams.

EU are also running the similar comp but instead of 2nd bunker mesmer, they run marauder engi. In my opinion, both are similar but 2 bunker mesmers can be far more superior and more aids.

I know the balance patch will not hit until February, 2016, but imagine that if we or no one else can figure out a solution for this comp, what will we expect on the ESL Finals in Cologne? I don’t believe that anyone wants it and I also don’t believe that Anet wants it.

Just my personal opinion here, and sorry for the broken English.

Tarcis.

Donnu why Anet can’t figure out multiple mesmers with f5 can pull out around 16 secs of group invulnerability with a CD of 30 secs (alacrity), and let this went live.
That’s like 54% of time full group invulnerable. (plus it’s not like your group is always taking damage, so the gap between each time a group doesn’t take damage can be negated, making the invulnerable up-time more than the statistic)

Add tempest’s immense healing / support and we can see why this bunker set-up excels anything we’ve seen before HoT.

And they let permanent resistance went live too. lol..

Personally I think Well of Precognation need a complete rework.
Should change the “Evade” to “Block” so there’s actually counter-play to it.
This would also make PVE mesmer less affected by the change too.

The point is it’s hard to make gold from doing “fun contents”.

Map bonus is the closest to getting valuable loots while having relatively ok-ish game experience.

For the rest, like logging soft wood, it’d net you a lot of gold, but the process is extremely boring, and wouldn’t be considered “playing the game” by many people.

But while I have two separate Orichalcum Inscriptions, I can’t “Discover” the recipe. What gives?

If I were you, I’d either use currency or just do the main story to get the full set of Auric Weapon skin, and transmute my main weapon to that skin if I like the skin.

People deliberately tossing games

in PvP

Posted by: Aomine.5012

Aomine.5012

After just advancing into the emerald division after 20-something long games of getting through Amber division, I lost a game because we had a teammate refuse to play. He stayed at home and did nothing. He did not d/c or leave, but he sometimes left home and died while autoattacking the enemy player taking the point. I wouldn’t be too annoyed at this loss if I didn’t lose a pip.

The game is rewarding players who deliberately toss games by making future games easier. When a player comes in with the intent to lose what are the rest of us supposed to do. His loss becomes all of our losses.

The problem goes deeper.

Some 5 man teams do this:

  • Take your 5 man team, take one guy out so the team is 4 and one is solo.
  • Everyone ques at the same time.
  • Good chances of that solo landing right back in your team or on the team they face.
  • If solo lands in your team with you, you’re all still in teamspeak.
  • If solo lands on the team you’re against, he throws the match by conducting deliberating stupid rotations and walking in to points to die alone, all on purpose.
  • Next match, a different person rotates out as the solo, repeat process.

Match manipulation is a problem but easy cured by only playing with a 5 man premade. This way there is no space in your team for match manipulation tactics.

The more reason to separate team Q and solo Q entirely.
It WAS working back then, why taking it away now?
Because yknow those cheap pre-made that enjoy easy matches can’t farm us anymore and need to wait 20 mins for Que due to the lack of real dedicated pvp community?

The current system is just not going to work. MMR is just one more thing add to the salt. Stop caring about those 5% elite team and give 95% of the community a chance will you? Those top 5% people already has a chance of winning 200,000 dollars, they don’t need more freebies.
