A 5% increase to every single piece of armor, weapon, and trinket available gives player wearing full Ascended Berserker gear 13% more damage than someone who has Exotic Berserker gear.

Please, stop pretending that the difference in stats isn’t significant.

You’re welcome to believe that differences in skill will help make up for that gap. And I’ll agree with you to some extent, because it’s a fair point. I’ll even go so far as to say that you don’t have to be decked in full Exotic gear, much less full Ascended, at this point in the game. Again, fair point.

But let’s stop fabricating this fantasy that there isn’t a statistically significant difference between full Ascended gear and full Exotic gear. Because there is. It’s an undeniable mathematical fact.

It isn’t significant because we only have accessories right now.

@Aristio: I thought having a rig-shop would be a fun added bonus for playing Engineer personally, and would also be a good way for players to test a turret without changing it a minute later, and actually learning how the different styles could work.

@Kamahl: I don’t play a ranger, so I’m not 100% on this, but is the problem with ranger pets that they don’t attack what you tell them to?

Pathing issues, not able to dodge, buggy attacks, low health, dies too quickly from AoE.

Charged Lodestone rarity is just too high.

I would LOVE this idea. I played Puppetmaster in FFXI and this immediately reminded me of my favorite class.

How about instead of going to town to change out our Turrets, we can press K to change it up? Like Rangers do. We could be restricted to a one minute reset timer, so we can’t abuse it.

Also, everybody mentions Mace/Hammer but what about Torch? I think it would make a great weapon if handled properly

I would surely trade our Tool Belt for this idea as most of our Tool Belt(Not all) skills are “meh” at best.

Theif Sword skill 2 is a stun breaker, and so is mesmer staff skill 2!

Mesmer Staff #2 is not a Stun Breaker. But it can be used -while- stunned to move, but it will not break the effect of Stun.

Elixir R and Elixir S are already some of the best ones in the game, which respectively also offer an area revive and 3-second immunity … all in two utility slots. With zero traits.

The Elixir Gun should have a Stun Breaker so we can actually have a Stun Breaker for full Kit builds.

All classes deal with their stun breakers being utility slots. You choose to go without them. Why should Engineers be special?

You are delusional to think that the Engineer is at an advantage to that of an Elementalist. That dagger Ele kitten face so this idea that it is at a disadvantage is untrue. I know many people have trust issues with ANET touching professions because they fear it will lead to a disaster like Kit Refinement. What the O kitten uggesting is a buff to the Engineer and tbh unless we get some buffs we’re going to continuously get crapped on by the community and dwindle further.

I never said that we have an advantage in strength or usefulness over the Elementalist. I said we have a design advantage. The plain simple fact is that Elementalist has little range with the daggers, while we can choose all three ranges at once.

No profession gets access to F5, so I think that is out of the question.

First off, we can swap from Flamethrower→Tool Kit→Flamethrower in 3 seconds. No other profession can do that. Secondly, when compared to the Elementalist, we have a major design advantage. When they choose a dagger, they have almost zero long range option. However, we can slot a Tool Kit, Flamethrower, and Grenade Kit for close range, mid range, and long range all in the same loadout.

In all honesty, we need some new main weapon options. I’m always in favor of: Torch, Mace/Mace OH, and Hammer. Our Tool Belt skills also need a few Stun Breakers, with the obvious choices being Elixir Gun and Slick Shoes.

Its possible for an engi to have 7 blast finishers loaded into his bars counting thumper as 2. Combined with our light, fire, smoke, water, poison and ice fields or someone elses fields we can amass quite a bit of aoe buffs or detriments.

Tell me how we can:

1) Have 7 Blast Finishers
2) Have more than 2 Combo Fields
3) Be useful

All at the same time

I wouldn’t hold your breathe. The only developer we’ve gotten in MONTHS was Peters telling us the Deployable Turrets trait works now. (Still bugs)

Rangers loose a lot of functionality with the death of their pets because it is their profession mechanic. Engineers do not when Turrets die. It’s not high on list of priorities I would assume.

P.S. I would love a Developer come in here and make me eat my words, don’t get me wrong.

Without Stability against an Engineer, you knew you weren’t going to have much chance to attack him. Our damage was NOTABLY lower than the other professions, but our CC was NOTABLY higher than anyone else.

There are traits that work with certain Gadgets:

Incendiary Powder, Precise Sights, Forceful Explosives, Explosive Powder, Steel-Packed Powder, Sharpshooter, Infused Precision, and Speedy Gadgets

You have to remember that most of our Gadgets, except Slick Shoes and Utility Goggles to damage.

My point is however moot, as Gadgets are still bad. Treated Gadgets as the Engineer signets would be great.

Utility Goggles: Critical Hits grant Fury (2s)
Slick Shoes: Run 25% faster
Throw Mine: Increases Power
Rocket Boots: Increases Precision
Personal Battering Ram: Reduces damage taken (5%)

This is where Arenanet has slapped us in the face.

Grind and grind to get your gold. Tempt you with the ease of just putting in your credit card details for more gold easily.

Finall you buy the armor that costs about 120 gold for the entire set, and then asks you to fork out more money for gems so you can transmute it exotic gear.

This is a BIG slap in the face. No other way of looking at it.

You’re acting like Cultural Armors offer any statistical benefits that trump 5 gold Exotics. You look cooler. That’s all the set offers.

Get over it and get to saving.

No you might not buy items for stats and say that it doesnt matter. Thats not what I do nor many other players. In point of fact I do NOT want any of the cultural t3 armors as they are all extremely fugly.

My point is that if they want to sell it as a “skin” they can do so via the TP with a costume set. Its not however, its ARMOR of RARE quality. The stats for a high cost item should reflect its costs.

How about you stop saying that stats dont matter. If that was the case, people would not grind for gear. Oh but wait they do, because stats matter to them.

This thread is not about me wanting them, its about getting the developers to realise Cultural armors are now pointlessly expensive in comparison to the rest of the items in the game.

I don’t see your point. Let’s say the prices where cut in half and were adjusted to be of exotic quality. They would -still- be more expensive than things on the trading post. Ignore the stats all together, as you can buy rares on the AH for -much- cheaper and the same stats to boot.

You are not paying for the stats on cultural armor, you are paying for the skin.
You are not grinding dungeon armors for the stats, you are grinding for the skin.
You are not grinding Legendary weapons for the stats, you are grinding for the skin.

Stats are bought off the trading post, skins are not. (For most part)

Uh no, I am going to have to call you out on the dungeon part. Yes some grind them for the skins, but I farmed AC and Hotw for the skin AND stats, the stats being the bigger reason.

So Raka, where were you when people were constantly complaining about how world bosses drop horrible loot and demanded a fix? Maybe you were actually one of them? That would be ironic now wouldn’t it? Let’s just assume you’re not. You should have spoken out against these people who obviously didn’t see what the end result would be.

I don’t read every post in the forums and especially not in stupid threads that demand stupid things

The world bosses were already bad. The drop “fix” was final nail to the coffin. It is most ridiculous idea ever. My feedback here is not only targeted at loot but at the entire events. And entire idea of rewards.

What should be rewarded in the game? Now grinding and farming is rewarded. I expected ANet to go into direction of rewarding for completing challanges. I guess that’s not what is going to happen.

I’m not against rewards for world bosses BUT ONLY AFTER the bosses are redesigned so they are scaling to maximum number of players, culling issues and lag is fixed, and boss encounters are difficult.

You’re not going to budge from your opinion even with a majority of posters disagreeing with you and giving you reasons why they disagree. Why are you still posting?

Why player who logs in and hits a boss once, gets better loot than player who is doing many events over the entire zone?

RNG gonna’ RNG.

You don’t get it do you? Your only chance to get Final Rest, worth 100g, is to go to kill Behemoth. Plus, latest patch improved that RNG on very few specific chests. Killing world bosses is the fastest and easiest way to get a chance on expensive item. This is why ppl farm world bosses and don’t farm jumping puzzles.

It’s now 26G, and again, falling pretty quickly. I don’t see the problem. People want to maximize their play time and you’re throwing a fit that they are. Loot is better, Ectos are cheaper, and new 80’s can gear up easier to at least Rare quality.

Whats the problem with people now going to do those events. Are they your personal pets for use when you want?

The new loot system is far better than getting a pile of cats, and events boses are fine…since you cant even get proper farm..because you cant even farm in this game in the open world, literally, 3 hours of orr or malchors leap, were leading to nothing..because everything was nerfed or removed or not working as intended or etc…this new chest loots is far better and helps, and make people go to the events.

It makes people go to the very few events in the game. World Boss events. And that’s it.

It also let’s people coordinate their play time in the best way they can. Only an hour to play? Check the timer and see if you’re within window.

It’s down to 26G and falling. The people who wanted it bought it, and it will fall to 5-10G in a bit.

I use Bombs/Grenades and a Tool Kit. Bomb/Tool Kits are especially useful against them via Confusion.

But I agree, Stealth is ridiculous in GW2. Shouldn’t be able to perma-stealth in a game like this. Stealth should be a defensive/offensive cooldown, not a means of absolute escape. There should be no Stealth-stacking in duration just because how long it takes for players to fade in.

As far as I can tell, the ONLY profession to get a stunbreaker on their weapon sets is Thief. Which is on the sword, a tanky weapon for Thief.

Don’t hold your breathe.

the argument is there, subtle but it is there.
they messed up by allowing legendary items to be sold on the TP they just don#t know how to fix it now, they never imagined people would be insane enough to actually sell such an item oh how wrong you were a.net.

Now they didn’t make the same mistake with ascended thank god !
but imo, legendary items don’t belong on the trading post at all and the fact you cannot buy ascended on the TP is prove of the obvious oversight and mistake they allowed to happen.

Increase damage by 20% across the board, except for Grenade Kit and Bomb Kit by 15%.
Fix all bugged traits.
Tweak some skills here and there. (Pistol 1, Recast on Turrets/Turret TB Skills)
Do something with Gadgets

I can tell you its actually fixed in this build, so I suspect that the patch notes are just missing this information. There are a number of bug fixes whose notes never got through the patch note process. We will try and get this list and update the notes, but for now this trait works in PvE so patch and enjoy!

The point is, THEY ARE BAD even when taking into consideration what ever it is they do good. Stop settling for garbage. I’m trying to make the profession better for everyone else. If you’re ok with the Engineer, just get off the forums and let the people who have constructive feedback for Anet handle it.

Number 3 moving to number 2 would be nice. Number 3 then becomes a random Toss Elixir Skill like someone mentioned above.

Well, I miss world pvp badly, lovely ganking and griefing, what can be better?

And that’s exactly the reason it will never, ever, be implemented.

Having guesting available, you are not required to go to an Open PvP server, so why can’t this be considered?

I seriously do not understand why a lot of players HATE the idea of dueling or open PvP, and don’t compare WvW to Open PvP because they are NOT the same.

I -STILL- don’t see why WvW isn’t open world PVP.

It’s basically flagging yourself in an open PVE world. Complete with “PVP Dungeons,” Bosses, Skill Points, Gathering Nodes, Crafting, ect. The ONLY difference between WvW and a “real” open world PVP is that everyone is about the same stat wise.

Feels like a kit. I don’t want to spam #1, so I swap to pistols to use cooldowns, and then swap to something else. That feels like kit use to me.

I agree 100%. While I do love Static Shot, Poison Dart Volley, and maybe Blowtorch, Glue Shot and auto-attack are so very much lackluster. What’s with Glue Shot anyhow? It’s a 1 second immobilize, with a 1 second cripple. “OH IT’S AOE!!!” Yup, a very small one. The time it takes you to press 5, line up your attack with it’s GTAOE, with travel time, you could have probably run further in time than it will buy you. Oh, and bonus points if they dodge the attack.

Auto-attack: Change to my suggestions above
Poison Dart Volley: Another RNG hoping that all shots will hit. Just make it a straight line.
Static Shot: I would love for the Daze effect to come back, but it’s wishful thinking. Increase the stacks to 3 confusion per bounce.
Blowtorch: Not much to say, set things on fire.
Glue Shot: 2 Second Immobilize on application, 2 Second Cripple per “pulse” after.

Why can't condition damage crit?

Because crit and condition builds are seperate by trait, if condition’s could crit then people who make condition builds would be forced to also go into crit stats and traits which would kill the point of builds being unique. Crit would be essential to condition builds if conditions critted.

Guardian: Radiance (Precision/Condition Damage)
Warrior: Arms (Precision/Condition Damage)
Engineer: Firearms (Precision/Condition Damage)
Necromancer: Curses (Precision/Condition Damage)

Other 4 are Precision/Critical Damage

Seems like an even 50/50 split to me.

Don’t see the problem with making pistol an actual threat. Rifle still beats it out in burst and still rocks its CC. What do you do when your 2-5 are on cooldown? Our Pistol Auto-attacks are pitiful and needs to be a decent amount of pressure. We can get 3-4 stacks of bleed now, if lucky. Even a 6 second base would be great.

*Increases bleed duration to 7 second base. (Traited for 9 seconds)
*Add a 1 second burn to the -explosion- of the shot, not the bullet itself. (For AoE purposes)
*Allow the explosion of the attack to be treated as an Explosion for synergy in the Explosives traitline.
*Coated Bullets also increases the damage done by Pistol attacks by 10%.
*Do nothing to the base damage of the explosion/bullet.

There, now a fully functioning condition damage weapon.

Our Warrior cousins get an 8 second bleed (Traited for 14 seconds) on an attack that hits 3 other enemies(x2); with a 1200 range attack that comes with a 6 second bleed (Traited for 10 seconds).

Our Necromancer cousins get a 5 second bleed(Traited for 9 seconds) at 900 range.

This game is not making sense to me!

well i can not attack other guilds in my sever. How do i know my guild is better!

Why does that matter? Are you looking for a challenge or to satisfy a superiority complex?

He just wants to cream himself when he ganks fresh level 2s with Exotic 80s in Queensdale. He even said that “WvW isn’t the same,” most likely because everyone is upleveled and he cannot get stupid easy kills.

I never got why people say that WvW isn’t open world PVP.

Mobs to kill
Nodes to gather
Bosses to kill
Players to kill
Events to finish
Skill points to earn
Crafting, banks, auction houses
Strong players, even if made 5 minutes ago.

Seriously.

Is the only reason because people in WvW expect to attack other players at some point?

Traited for lowest CD.
Has Fury/Swiftness/Cond. Removal
Can heal others and yourself when your heal is on CD
Not a RNG skill and is 100% reliable
