If you have a stabilizer, use it around the pond to find and open a rift, then switch to your other character.
Dear God, really? Geez. Thanks.
P.S. @ Anet: Really??? How about you make those Stabilizers account-bound?
Hello folks,
I did this quest line when it was first released on two characters. It was no problem back then to find a Class I Rift in order to trigger the dialogue with Auris Weirdbringer.
But now that I wanted to do this on other characters, I am stuck at Auris Weirdbringer telling me that he was busy, and nothing else is happening. No such rift in sight around the pond.
What am I supposed to do?? I am lost.
You fixed the database number issue, but all other destinations state “name of city Asura Gate” when you approach the portal (via Airship or Royal Terrace etc.). Only the fixed entry says “Portal to Lion’s Arch”.
Maybe you could fix it to fit the other entries, like it used to before the bug?
I can comfirm the lag with the F2 pet skill after swap. Please fix!
Did anyone use Wave of Wrath for any reason but as a lootstick?
What other purpose could it possibly serve?
Staff Guardian is, err, was the built for WvW to play! Now I very likely will have to put resources into changing all the WvW gear again. <—where is an angry smiley when you need one?
Finally, no more annoying legendary weapon sounds, unless wanted!
Of course, it would have been even more superb if one could be able to adjust them per single weapon, but I suppose that would be too much to ask.
So, thank you.
Am I missing that much if I don’t get to experience raiding?
Find a raiding guild (there are plenty for that purpose, they don’t require representation) that has certain days per week dedicated to newcomers. You should be fine.
We can use gliding in core Tyria as well since it was introduced with HoT, so of course you will be able to glide in PoF. As for updrafts etc., no, they want you to use mounts, so those HoT specialties will be marginal at best.
5 days in and getting a bit mad right now...

rather than that i stick to gold, which was good a few days ago.
4k gems was approx. 1200 gold a few days ago, today its about 800.
Prices fluctuate. The exchange rate is worst around the weekends and gets better during mid-week.
Pop-up continues appearing, cannot turn off.

Unfortunately, there is only one way to solve this: Open the Hero Panel, select the Story Journal tab, select the first episode of Heart of Thornes, select “Play this Episode” and play through the first story mission.
This will unlock Masteries so you can level them. It’s what I had to do, too, even though I did not want to get a massive spoiler. It’s a shame ArenaNet still hasn’t found a way to have Masteries unlock automatically upon buying HoT on that account.
If you selected a different password for GW2 than you used in GW1 and have linked both accounts, GW1 now uses your GW2 password instead of the old one.
I start the computer everything works fine. I can surf the internet I can do everything but start gw2.
Have you checked temperatures? 3D applications heat up your CPU and GPU. If you don’t have sufficient cooling, especially during summertime, that can kill your hardware.
As mentioned before, it could also be a power issue. Usually, your PSU turns off the computer when it registers an issue to prevent hardware damage. Unlikely here, though, since you said it restarted and not that it turned off. (Did you receive a bluescreen message?)
This always happens when a map is/becomes highly populated. It’s a mechanic that prevents server lag.

This section of the zone is not fun in any measure and is easily the most frustrating content in the game that I’ve encountered in 3+ years of playing.
I guess you haven’t tried the Ember Bay jumping puzzle then…
The outfit is a remake of the Sunspear outfits (GW1), therefore it is fine the way it is. Most people love the reference and do use the outfit.
As Inculpatus cedo wrote, next time get informed first before wasting money on content you do not enjoy.
Why is GW2 not on steam? Wouldn’t it be better for a F2P game to be on steam, we’d have more players especially with good marketing for the expansion the player count’d blow,, as well ass toxicity i’m afraid
Nooooooo, please! The community has already grown more childish and toxic with old-timers leaving and many kids joining (especially with the f2p option). What we don’t need is more of this, because Steam is hosting the worst gaming communities ever (tone, manners etc.).
I’ve already had a character of Elonian heritage for years, my thief, so I didn’t use any of the new faces but only changed his hair and selected armor that goes better with the new haircut.
Also, my elementalist has been sporting a Vabbian look since creation.

ROFL OK currently 1 USD = 110 JPY. So you are saying japanese should pay in yen as much as americans do in dollars for same product? Wow I’m sure Japan would love that.
I don’t think you get it.
The OP is saying that we should be paying the foreign currency equivalent of the price in USD, instead we are getting robbed by ArenaNet and other U.S. based companies by paying more (plus taxes), as prices are not being correctly converted into the respective currency.
Yes, you were literally transformed into the beast (worm, devourer), you never rode it. That’s a huge difference, although the functionality was basically the same (you used the worm form to get across poisonous areas).
This bug still persists. Will it be fixed anytime soon?
And still no fix…? I am dying to finally try out this achievement, it is so much fun!
The icon indicating which element you are currently attuned to often bugs out by not increasing in size (150%, I think) as it should be when you have it selected. Instead it remains at 100% size.
Please fix.
Canach is the only enjoyable companion NPC at the moment as he has the only well written, non-childish dialogue besides Rox, but we haven’t seen her in ages, so…
I would love it if we’re able to gather on mounts
Highly unlikely, as you can’t seem to do anything on mounts other than riding them.
- the Garden of Seborhin (my favorite location)
- story-rich content
- the soundtrack by Jeremy Soule (GW will never be the same w/o it)
- the Forgotten
- fighting Margonites
- Palawa Joko and his undead minions
- the Elona-themed Guild Hall
- Paragons and Dervishes
- solo-farming those swords (forgot the name) with my 55 HP Monk
I am not too fond of the ever increasing number of travel mechanics. They should have left it at gliding, then coming up with mounts would have been cool news. Now, with the tons of mechanics already shoved down our throats since HoT, it’s just giving me a major headache.
Only specific items add to the achievement. Also, one drawer must be clicked twice as it contains two items.
Check this guide for details, I did the achievement only yesterday:
http://dulfy.net/2017/07/25/gw2-one-path-ends-achievements-guide/#Student_of_Bartholos_5_AP
What do you mean by “something is wrong” exactly? The hair color?
Just move your mouse.
HUD disappearing is what is usually does.
I think the OP was saying that their game is unresponsive to user input (can’t select character, buttons do nothing etc.), so moving the mouse will do nothing to fix the issue.
With the new hairstyles (at least with this one), the mini profile picture is messed up:
Maybe with the next expansion, which hopefully will be Cantha.
Then again, by now Anet has reduced races to mere cosmetics, so it doesn’t make that much of a difference.
Okay, so — as usual — I got my answer through third party websites and not via ArenaNet:
http://dulfy.net/2017/08/01/gw2-spearmashal-weapon-skins-and-sunspear-outfit/
That outfit is a throwback to GW, or so I’m told.
That’s wonderful! It’s the Spearmarshal outfit from GW1.
Is that the so-called “Spearmarshal’s Presense” that is mentioned in the Deluxe Edition? If so, what is the “Lily of the Elon Pass”? A location teleport?
Would have been cool if it actually looked like that. Unfortunately for female characters it looks like this
Oh.
I am not going to pay extra for something I can’t preview.
So, dear devs, I need infos (and screenshots) on those two bonus items that are included in the Deluxe Edition.
Apparently, they fixed the CSS layer issue by simply removing the top layers, but the shop links are still dead as in still leading to an error page: “The page isn’t redirecting properly”
Edit: This error includes all links, even the one accessed from the main site: https://www.guildwars2.com/en/shop/
(edited by Ashantara.8731)
The official page has major CSS bugs: https://www.guildwars2.com/en/path-of-fire/
Many links don’t work properly (or don’t work at all). For instance the horizontal menu including the Buy Now button, which is overlapped by another layer, or the dead screenshot link, and the last row of concept art pics, which is also overlapped by another layer.
You might want to fix that ASAP.
Released on September 22. Next weekend is a pre-release test weekend.
Infos: see website —> https://www.guildwars2.com/en/path-of-fire/

I can confirm that guardian using retaliation pretty much cheeses it.
Thanks for the tip! Will try that.
I hope they can tie it all together again.
Hah hah, thanks for the laugh!
What you can expect is more such nonsense. Unless they finally find the means to hire a professional writer for future content.
Gee, I thought their original concept was to be innovative. I mean, that’s what they said even before the game launched. (It’s even in the Manifesto.)
They promised the personality choice you make during character creation to be developed further and become more important in future content, but instead it was canned.
They promised personalized content based on choices your character makes (and on race, which by now has been reduced to mere cosmetics), but instead they changed the direction into a one-way path for all that makes for flat boring story-telling and lacks replayability.
They introduced swimming and diving in GW2, but none of it is of importance anymore. It has become an abandoned child. Instead, they introduced a crazy amount of movement and traveling mechanics (with even more to come in the next expac) that have become the number 1 priority of “innovative” content now, when they are fitting in a 3D action platformer but certainly not in a RPG (which should have rich story-telling, well written character involvement and dialogue, and personal choices as its no.1 priority, not this kitten).
We’re getting the official announcement for the expansion tomorrow, so what does everyone expect from it?
Lots of promises that will sound too good to be true (making the new upcoming content sound absolutely intriguing), only to be completely disappointed by the poor final results and feel let down by the devs once again.
Storage Space for Tenebrous/Shimmering Crystals
I had to delete at least 20 stacks of those by now because they were clogging my storage space. I suggest you add slots in the material storage for them… please.
How far back are we talking? WoW? EQ? UO? Muds? Most of the early games designed around quest line adventures, and you could beat content above your level if you were smart about it. Sometimes you had to farm, but usually in the context of affording an item, or finding something specific out in the field. Now days the design norm is that of a constant deficit; no matter what you are tasked with, you start at zero, and have to fight every system to make progress.
Its almost ironic that WoW not only broke the trend of how content was done, but also reestablished it in a more diabolical form. Lazy MMOs, and now lazy RPGs, use grinds as a game play element…. not a side effect of choices leading up to that point. The fact you think the two are fundamentally synonymous only shows you don’t seem to understand what any of these terms actually mean.
Thank you for this eloquent response.
I, too, find the statement “That’s what MMOs are about, so if you don’t like it, don’t play them!” rather ridiculous. An MMORPG should have the same qualities as good off-line RPGs, with the only difference being that the former is multiplayer. I had more fun playing Neverwinter Nights 1 in co-op mode with with my RL buddy than playing GW2.
I once accidentally put runes on an armor for another character, which soulbound the armor pieces to the wrong character. Is it possible that this was the case?
I believe that Anet ruined the game by not sticking to its original concept but rather forcefully trying to be “innovative” all the time. It made the game chaotic in its mechanics and overloaded with childish stuff nobody needs, and the things that really matter (personalized content, higher replayability, good writing etc.) suffered under this constant pressure of being “innovative”.
- Taimi in the back seat. Finally, she’s no longer running ‘mission control’ for us.
That’s because there was nothing to run! This episode was void of actual content — “all filler, no thriller.”
To me, there was only one good thing about this whole episode: the tome in which you can store all your S3 teleportation scrolls.
Well, “E” could be Anise after all, if Anise isn’t really Anise…
Now that we know that people can prolong their lives using ancient artifacts, we could speculate that there are more important personalities from GW1 lore hiding in Kryta, behind masks (especially those related to the Shining Blade).
Therefore, it no longer seems too far fetched to say that “E” might be Evennia (who could be Anise indeed). Also, the fact that Queen Jennah’s cat is called Shadow has a different taste to it now, doesn’t it? And Jennah could be Princess Salma after all (which would explain her powerful magic, when you had 250 years to practice and develop your art…).
Who knows what is going on in the devs’ heads.
I believe that was my single favorite thing about this whole episode: said tome.
