It’s unlikely they will make it usable in WvW. People were using previous costume brawl skills in WvW to gain an advantage. The sprint skill from the executioner to move quickly across the map and the drill item to go underground to “hide” from enemies are two in particular that I read of. Because of this, all costume brawl skills were deactivated in WvW.

You will see that income dropped dramatically from 2013 to 2014 by almost 80 per cent ( includes copies sold + gems, which make for approx. 75 percent of income for GW2 ).

Yes, it means the game is dying, which is pretty much what most of the people feel like about the game from late 2013 until now.

Total for 2013: 113,500,000 is definitely above dying. Excerpt for Q4 in 2102, there is a steady 22 to 32 million per quarter. It’s fluctuating around those numbers. If it was dying, wouldn’t it be decreasing?

I think putting the new skin on it, it will still say transmuted, but you can always try.

From what I can tell, when you transmute, if it changes the stats it’s no longer considered by the game to be a Legendary. (Thread about a transmuted Dusk). The posts indicated that a splitter was needed. I recommend you contact support if you don’t receive a definite answer from anyone.

No, you have to be a ranger to have a ranger pet. The responses here were made assuming that you would be a ranger, since that is what you asked about.

Try a dredge cave maybe, or one of the Skritt caves where an event turn the Skritt hostile.

Ebonhawke has a Skritt cave with a lot of hostile, fast respawning Skritt at the west where the heart is.

For a starter person, I would recommend going to Hoelbrake or the Norn starter map and getting a bear. (The city area has a polar bear and the noob area has a brown bear). They are low damage but very tanky. Once you get used to keeping an eye on the pet’s health and switching them out, try something like the fernhound (has a nice knockdown and a regen skill) or a cat (good damage). The Norn noob area also has a drake, which is a good pet. It also has a wolf and murellow.

I just unlocked 15 chests and refuse to open any more until the Dragon Coffers get removed….They are HORRIFIC in terms of rewards and I’d much rather have the guaranteed booster combiner (that was there just prior to the Coffers).

If he got the email without contacting support first then that was a phishing email from account thieves that he told all his information to, not support.

I would wonder now if his computer and his email has been hacked and that’s why he is not getting the responses from Support. If he hasn’t already done so, he should run a security sweep of his computer and change his email’s password.

What you should do OP, is figure out how much crafting with charged crystals you are planning to do and set those aside. The rest you should put on the trading post. If you don’t want to sell for the current price, figure out a likely price that it will eventually sell for and post it at that.

Charging it means you can no longer sell it. If you aren’t planning to use it, there is no point in charging it as it makes it worthless.

Sure… Play how you want – and if that is grinding to get every possible achievement then feel free. But please don’t cry foul if the current condition in game isn’t conducive towards farming giant kills. Maybe one day there will be a dungeon, LS event, or map that has loads of giants. Anything is possible.

The game is almost 2 years old. Most people only have a few giants killed. That’s hardly having this achievement now. Like…. yesterday.

I’ve gotten all of my slayer achieves by playing naturally, not by grinding them out. When all except one is gotten by playing over the course of 2 years and the one that is left has only a handful of kills done then that one is unbalanced.

There are actually 2 champion giants. One in Harathi Hinterlands and one in Diessa Plateau.

I also killed a few in Brisban for an event called Broken Golem.

That event can scale up actually and it would spawn 4-5 giants if there are enough people around. If you are lucky you can do simultaneously 2 other events on other servers via guesting. Just start it, kill giants, guest, repeat.

Except that nowadays, guesting is likely to put you on the same shard you came from.

I tried guesting when Balthazar was closed on my server. Guested the allowed 2 times and both times was on the server I started from.

Ice outfits? The only outfit I can remotely think of as icy is Zodiac armor, dyed white. But it will turn his body blue where it’s exposed. Other than that, dye any armor white. You can go to your wardrobe at the bank or any crafting place and preview the armor there to get a look you like.

I have 2 level 20+ mules parked at a JP and I can tell you that this isn’t a good option. I’ve seen posts where people claim to get one or two silver doubloons a week doing this but my experience is one or two a month per toon.

Which JP were you using? Not all give equal rewards.

I had 12-14 alts parked (occasionally i did stupid things like dodging off the platform, or was kicked from pirates due to LA changes) for many months. In ~5 months, I got more than 250 — which works out to at least 3.5 SDs per character per month (naively you’d expect ~4.2 assuming even distribution of the possible upgrades). Sometimes I’d go a week with only 1, other times I would get more than 5 in a day. If I combined all the alternate universal upgrades I got, I could probably increase the number by 25%, but that’s also somewhat time-consuming … and I don’t need more SDs now.

If you do this, choose one of the chests which gives 2 chances per open — pirates, spek’s lab, etc. It’s not efficient in terms of time or money, I was just curious.

I currently have one parked in Southsun, the JP by the LA portal, and one at Troll’s End. I used to have one at Urmaug’s secret for several months till it was removed when Scarlet attacked LA.

I can’t see people buying keys for this.

Its not so much that people buy or farm keys to get Unids but chests get opened nonetheless. I dont think that the amount of BL chests being opened is insignificant, either.
I once listed a couple of black lion chests at the lowest listing of 5 copper, at that time there were around 100k more listings at 5 copper. My chests sold within 2 weeks.

That’s certainly more than I would have thought.

The drop rate for unid dyes from the chests from the wiki, as rough as the numbers are, seem to be around 35%. My personal average so far is 27% (43 unid dyes total out of 156 chests).

If you mean the mini pet and other objects, check your mail, the letter icon at top left of your UI. You might have to delete emails that are in front of it.

I had a shield on each of those professions when I started out, really nice looking ones too. Ended up salvaging them.

The engie, mostly uses kits anyway so the weapons they hold are more for the stats.
Guardian, I used a shield for a while. Didn’t find it particularly useful.
Warrior, except for learning the skills, again, not particularly useful.

Hmmm. Not the obby shards or the crafting bags, to much work for too little imo.

The mini will go in your inventory and not take up any slots. The model? It’s kind of nice but how often will you use it? And it does take up a slot.

I would vote for the mini. Bring it out for Halloween and Christmas.

Soulbind means here that it has to be the correct armor type. If you buy for the wrong armor type, it won’t soulbind and you can’t go back again and rebuy it and have it count on the correct armor type because then it won’t be unique, since you already have it in your wardrobe.

I bought 100 when the price was about 21s. I also got 3 more from a BL chest that one of my low level alts got the key for personal story.
Time to buy one more char slot to key farm with. After the trait changes I can’t bring myself to delete any of my 8 grandfathered characters. However buying a slot for a char that will constantly be deleted doesn’t feel bad at all. Maybe key farming will be the new source for unid dyes in the future.

Aren’t BL chests the only source of new unid dyes right now? Cooking will give you unid [color] dyes but not unid dyes that this thread is about.

Eventually the stockpiled dyes will give out. It will be interesting then to see what happens.

It’s not that hard to switch characters.

I have a bad internet connection and it takes way more than 10 seconds to load.

I have to switch characters to get the crafting profession I want.

I have to usually switch maps and then run to the crafting site.

To ask the Devs to spend hours of their time remodeling crafting, to spend who knows how much money in payroll costs, to take people away from whatever they were working on before this, just so someone doesn’t have to spend a little bit of time switching characters is not an appropriate use of Dev time.

I’m sure they were well aware of character switching and loading time when the game was being designed as they would have had to character switch and load the game then as well.

Are you located on the same server as your guild?

Typically the main body of each guild is on one server. That’s the server that gets all the benefits from influence. People on different servers currently can’t access those guild banks or guild armorers because those servers haven’t accumulated enough influence.

It’s not that difficult to switch.

This is a solution looking for a problem. Requiring ANet to revamp the whole crafting professions to make them account wide and create a system to accommodate those who still want to craft to level, just so some people won’t have to go to character select and back to game, would be a waste of the Devs time and resources.

I wouldn’t mind having a raptor that’s lit up like a light bulb on my arm. Good for those dark jumping puzzles.

This has got to be, for me, one of their more baffling non changes in the game. It’s been almost 2 years and they can’t even add it in as a drop? Put it in crafting? Add it as a reward for personal story?

Yet they can find the time and effort to add additional invisible walls to Salma to inconvenience the role players.

I’ve seen the clipping on other people’s pictures but not on my characters. I wonder if it has to do with body type. Because of how the armor in this game can make the females look “wide load,” most of mine have the thinnest possible body type. If you have a total makeover kit and your outfit clips, maybe view with a thinner body and see if it’s still there.

When they set up the Megaservers, it killed all the apps where you could find events by map and server and nodes by map and server. The apps haven’t recovered from this change. If you want regular events now, you have to hunt for them. If you want orichalcum or ancient wood, the same. You have to hunt for them daily.

The boss timer I use is http://howar31.github.io/GW2Timer/ I don’t know if there are better ones. This one has it’s flaws, but it’s adequate.

Besides everything you have listet being GW1 related, all of your examples are of horizontal progression (more options/skins/same stats) not vertical progression (straight up better stats/more loot)

1-4 are all basic examples of horizontal progression (not straight up better, just more options) besides they are all unlockable via PvE.

5 is a temporary (level 1-19) and unreliable (dies quickly, long cooldown) bonus than can be substituted with other summoning stones, which makes it another case of horizontal progression. The only advantage of it is being infinite (kinda like the regular vs infinite picks).

6 is again horizontal progression (more options) you can still use the regular heroes which are good enough for most of the content.

7 max level weapons at level one deal awfull damage because their requirements are not being met.

8? The bonus missions offer new content, which reward no better stats, just new looks (horizontal progression).

It seems to me you did not know the difference between vertical and horizontal progression.
 
 
 

I have not bought any of the infinite tools so, unlike some of you, I don’t feel any pain about this one.

Don’t worry, if this becomes a trend the pain will come in time.

Ok, true, horizontal then.

On the other hand, someone can buy the PvP skills and the PvP gear and walk into PvP for the first time, fully maxed out. No need to grind for any of that and then PvP with people who were still unlocking skills, heroes and upgrades.

They can also walk into the PvE area and not need to play the game to get the skills unlocked.

They can make a brand new character and have something better than a starter weapon. Maybe the weapons weren’t so good, but they were better than what character creation gives you.

You could start a new character and on your first minute, no money needed to buy from another character or by playing the game, you have a NPC (the fire imp) alongside you.

If all these items, or equivalent items, had been in the Guild Wars 2 gem shop would people have called them pay to win? My belief is, yes. Just like I’ve seen some people call the pick pay to win.

What I’m saying is, ANet has a long history of selling items in the shop that give some sort of advantage.

Actually, I (and I assume a lot of other people) think the sprockets should be removed because it’s the first (and thank god only so far) instance of vertical progression in the gem store.

It really doesn’t mater if the <Insert Random Item> generated by <Insert Random Tool Name> is worth 4c 4s or 4g. As long as there is a definite better tool we have vertical progression and that is a pandora’s box i’d like to see shut rather sooner than later.

The main issues with the Pick:

• Vertical Progression in the Gem Store: The new Pick is flat out better than any of the old Picks. This means vertical progression in the Gem Store is something ANet is fine with and we might see other items replaced by better versions.

• Trust in your purchase: People who bought any of the previous Pickaxes may feel cheated and might be more reluctant to buy any further “infinite” items, lowering future revenue and thus harming ANet and by extension all of the players.

• Extreme lack of communication: Despite over one thousand responses in multiple threads in the “Guild Wars 2 Discussion” and “Black Lion Trading Co” subforums, there is still no official response from ANet for over four months. Even threads specifically asking for a response (this one) get completely ignored.

Those people are really few or trolling. You are basically “cherry” picking here, hence my question why you are so fixated on the money aspect.

So, are you telling me that the complaints are not based on the value that the sprockets have? If the sprockets were valueless, worth nothing at all, there would still be the same number of complaints?

What i didnt like about its introduction was that it was basically a better version of the molten pick.

When i bought the molten, i thought it would be the only one i will ever need but they released one that was superior to it.

Yah, I can see that. Maybe they should have offered an exchange NPC. A exchange of an old pick for the new one. Or a refund/exchange/upgrade from support.
