Does OP have a list of everyone who is doing the WvW beta or are they overreacting to one post from the new WvW commander that started a few months ago?
As stated, the hardcore PvP players have very good knowledge and experience with skills/traits compared to your average player. The same could be said for the dungeon speed clear players such as rT and DnT. They also tend to make more reasonable, realistic fix suggestions.
We got items from the last beta and were able to deposit collectibles. Whether they actually went there I’m not sure. What he is likely referring to are the items you get for the Revenant such as the equipment boxes, runes, food and such.
Those are given loss, but I recall from the first Verdant Brink seeing footage that clearly had “Deposit Materials” greyed out.
It would really be nice to know the exact specifics concerning this test… things like daily dungeon gold bonus, tokens, daily achievements etc.
It wasn’t greyed out for us. Basically anythibg that you earn while playing Revenant, that could’ve been earned by your other characters, you will be able to transfer to other character taking into account soulbound items. The items that Anet was likely referring to are the items they’re giving players who are participating in the beta. These items include the exotics where you can swap stats, assortment of runes/sigils, and food.
Now I’m not sure what would happen if you tried to transfer an account bound items such as advended to the Revenant and whether you could retrieve them after the beta ended if you forgot to remove them.
I guess those are items for clarification. I also vaguely remember that for the other beta tests, the beta slot wasn’t connected to your account so I could actually be wrong about the components being deposited as collectibles to my account’s bank. I can’t remember if Anet had said that it wasn’t or if it was a player that had said so.
I’m excited to play with the revenant, but three days without progress is going to be cruel. :x It would be lovely if I could get my gold, and put my loot into the bank. After all, why not? What’s to lose?
And will I be able to do my dailies with a revenant? If so, what will happen to any daily chest I get?

It’ll definitely be easier for people to troll the enemy zergs.

People are still spouting off that the expansion alone is 50.00 and the core game is FREE?
Some people will believe anything you tell them… lol.
I peeked in to see if anything had changed, obviously not. I have migrated to other games, as this whole ordeal made me lose my taste for Guild Wars 2, maybe after it’s released and goes on sale for 20 bucks or something I may consider checking it out, but I am definitely not paying 50 bucks for a chunk of living story content that they held back and released all at once… under false pretenses.
I’m sure lots of people will, and I hope they enjoy the experience, I am a little more selective with what I purchase, and i won’t buy things being marketed deceptively, out of principal.
That said, I am going back to the other games I am into now, and bid you guys, and the world of GW2 farewell… for the foreseeable future at least.
It falls in line with how other expansions are priced and there’s still a lot of info that they haven’t released yet. The core game is free for all new accounts. Let’s say that the 5th expansion is still $50 with everything prior included as a free bonus for new accounts. Are you going to argue that those prior expansions and core game are part of the cost? How about for the 10th expansion?
Prices for games fall over time as do sales. You’ll see this with all games and I can’t think of any exceptions. They’ve likely made back most, if not all, of their investment from the development of the core game. I’m basing this off what’s considered the high end for production costs of games and how many units sold at $60.
Prices are lowered to increase sales and they benefit from this due to economies of scale. There are variable costs with distribution but that’s slightly different in this case as the game is available electronically too.
Many companies actually take a loss in one area or product to boost sales in another that’s more profitable. I gave an example in a thread regarding hot dog buns and hot dogs. Grocery stores often give great sales for one of the items that could be considered complementary goods. In the example I gave, they could have a sale on hot dog buns where they could take a loss but make it up and much more due to increased sales in hot dogs.
This is probably the rationale in why they’re offering the core game for free to new accounts. They’re taking a loss in potential sales they could have gotten for the core game in exchange for increased sales for the expansion by people who currently do not play the game. New players will perceive this to be a great deal and be more enticed to start playing the expansion than if they had to buy both separately. There are many benefits to having more people pick up this game.
Some say they could just make it so the expansion is cheaper so that new players still pay $50 for both. An example would be $40 for the expansion and $10 for the core game. The issue with this is that the expansion is priced along with what the predicted production costs will be along with whatever return is planned. This makes offering a low expansion price difficult.

I wasn’t saying there was 1 thread ever and I don’t know why you came up with that assumption.
this is where i came up with the assumption that you only found one thread:
Where are all of these complaints? I only see one thread that hasn’t even made it to its second page.
you kind of said, ‘[you] only see one thread’
my bad if this was all just a misunderstanding, what just trying to make a point that there’s more than one thread.
It might have been a misunderstanding. When I saw all of these negative threads pop up primarily about complaints about golems and how out of touch Anet was, I was a little shocked when I saw only one complaint thread about golems within the first few pages. The lag people are seeing appeared to be more of an issue at the moment.
Where are all of these complaints? I only see one thread that hasn’t even made it to its second page.
over 2000 posts, not all of them complaints but a mix of complaints and bugs
Really? That’s your source? A Google search for golems?
sigh, if you don’t actually want to do the real research here:
specific site search with google on gw2’s forum in its wvw section only:
“omega golems too strong” 56 threads, 775 posts
https://www.google.com/webhp?sourceid=chrome-instant&ion=1&espv=2&ie=UTF-8#q=%22omega+golems%22+too+strong+site:https:%2F%2Fforum-en.guildwars2.com%2Fforum%2Fgame%2Fwuv%2F“siege too strong” 382 threads, not gonna add up all the individual posts for you

There’s a ton more than just 1 thread. Just saying.
With any complaint issue, there will be multiple threads. Look at all the ones calling for mounts had they not been merged. If you look at up at a previous post then you will see that I said current threads. I looked at the past 3-4 pages in the WvW forums and only saw 1 thread which is where I got that number from. I wasn’t saying there was 1 thread ever and I don’t know why you came up with that assumption.
(edited by Ayrilana.1396)
Really? That’s your source? A Google search for golems?
Well I aint going through over 2 years of posts just to satisfy your request.
WvW complaints on numerous parts of WvW have been here since launch! If you want more info you can search the forums yourself.
Well I see all of these “Anet is out of touch” posts about the new golem thing where there’s only once current thread about golems and it’s less than a page long. You can find complaibts about all areas of the games. It doesn’t mean that Anet is out of touch.
Where are all of these complaints? I only see one thread that hasn’t even made it to its second page.

It makes Anet look out-of-touch given that the previous top post in this forum was a discussion suggesting that golems are bad.
Personally, I think it’ll be a fun and interesting event that will do no long-term harm. Frankly, I’m delighted that Arenanet are doing something different with WvW!
It hasn’t gone past the first page though.
As far as WvW in general, this does change things up but something more substantial likely would have been better. I’m not talking about another season.
How do you know it’s the majority?
Looks like this got fixed with today’s update.
A guardian is not a monk, and was never meant to be like a monk.
Further, Guardians will never have Monk skills like Ray of Judgment, AKA Guardian Focus 4.
A lot of GW1 skills got recycled into many GW2 classes. Some of the warrior skills made their way to guardian.

Until it’s released at an unspecified date. The one who said July 31st is mistaken.

Just wanted to say – do not like to be forced to do AP content for equipment.
Chances are this will continue on into the future.

So.. When the next expansion comes, do i have to buy the Core+HoT+New Expansion for full price again? If this keeps going on i will have to pay again and again for the stuff i already have… Doesnt really seems worth it.
You’d only be paying for the expansion which is what you’re doing right now.
Just because I flip a coin and get heads 100 times in a row doesn’t mean that I’m inherently lucky.
Can you prove this? :P
I’ve learned better than to explain things that require some knowledge or the subject for someone to understand. Not saying that you don’t know but just in general.
Just to add clarification that no account is luckier than another in the sense that there’s no hidden internal modifier that influences whether they are lucky or not. Every account has the same probability of getting a precursor just like every other one.
How can you say that with such certainty? And I don’t mean anything deliberate I mean it could be something unforeseen. Look how long they took to find the original rng bug years ago.
Anet has stated it as being such either late last year or earlier this year.
Anet swore there wasn’t a problem with loot drops in early 2013, even going so far as to poke fun at those making the claims, and were later proven to be wrong.
Oh but of course. One instance of there being a problem means that doubt can be spread on anything. This isn’t the first time that this has been brought up and they’ve checked and verified that it’s working as intended. A general understanding of probability would show that it is.

It’s all in the probability. The odds of someone getting that many in such a short time is the same for everyone. Just because I flip a coin and get heads 100 times in a row doesn’t mean that I’m inherently lucky.
If heads was win and tails was lose then I have flipped that kitten ed coin millions of times without seeing heads. If this is probability, would it not have landed on heads at least ONCE out of all those tries? My coin is broken I guess, it has tails on both sides.
WTB a pity timer mechanic like D3 please!
Unlike with a coin that has a 50% probability of being of two outcomes, it’s much different with a precursor.
Then explain why I know people with under 1k hours who have found 5+ of these things from world drops. Great loot is literally thrown at these people constantly while others get kitten all. Has to be more to this than just ‘luck’.

I also read on one of the wiki pages that it’s picked up rather than dropped. Not sure what that means.
Those drop small bags, though, not Tiny.
Yeah. I realized that after I posted it.
Other guilds accept other players and do TT on a regular basis. There’s nothing awful about guilds spawning their own instance so they can get most of their guild onto a single map. Stronger guilds can do TT with less than the map population so it’s not necessary for them although it does still help to have that buffer. There’s really nothing wrong with the timers as they have minimal impact on the “non-elite” world bosses.
Jormag takes so long because people are focusing on the champs rather than the wall/pillars. The entire Jormag fight, both phases, can be done in about 6 or so minutes. It’s kind of ironic that people farm the champs because the fight is unrewarding and long when it’s that very action that makes it so.
That’s not true. The champions that drop the loot melt in seconds and they hardly affect the fight in terms of time. The champions that takes ages to kill do NOT drop loot, so if you want to blame something for making the fight longer, blame those champions that have the same health as Jormag. And besides those champions are regularly being ignored by the farmers and they go after the golems, they hardly contribute in making the fight take longer.
When it’s not worth to kill them because it takes as much time as killing Jormag (and drop no loot), then there is something horribly wrong here.
It doesn’t matter if the champs melt or not. You can blame scaling on the champs all that you want but killing them contributes hardly anything.
People going after the champs is only half the issue. The other half that I did not mention are those that stack at the certain spots and just auto attack.

This was pre-update but once the crit spots are fixed, we’ll see how long it will take when players actively participate in progression of the event.

they have changed plans many more times than that blog post.
1)new weapons in a free update, said during beta when people talked about if they might add axes in an expansion.
2)mini games
3)new dynamic events constantly inserted that change with the world
4)ascended
5)adding more guild puzzles/challenges/rushes
6)fractal leaderboards
7)fractal weapon boxes
8)fractal level 51-60 coming soon
9)every dungeon revisted and made more funits not a small amount of things that fell to the wayside. And usually its the long term stuff that changes. Understandable in some ways, but still it means that you cant really assume that when they say hey we are going to add more guild halls, it means that it will be with this purchase. It means nothing they talk about possibly doing later may show up withing HoTs lifetime.
They can change their minds, and even changing minds aside, they never specifically said any of this stuff can be expected to be released within the lifetime of HoT.
There’s a difference between things being on the table and plans to bring something into the game at a certain point of time. If people are actually assuming the former to be the same as the latter then it’s no wonder that Anet stopped releasing any info whatsoever until they’re ready.
I’m also unsure why you listed items 1-4 as they are, or have been, implemented into the game. Item 5 was something that was on the table and Item 6 was something they failed to deliver. Items 7-8 likely got pushed back to be part of the mastery system. Item 9 is debateable in that I’d prefer new dungeons rather than reworked ones.
Please read the posts again. Seriously.
In other words, he’s right and you cannot present any argument showing how he would be wrong.
Do you have any idea of how ridiculous your example sounds? “Hey guys, ArenaNet said they would release feature X in 2013, but they told us in 2014 that it would be a little late…” Oh really?
You are only proving my point (again). Thanks for finding a link that proves how ArenaNet likes to change their minds, so we cannot believe their current promises about future HoT content.
No. He missed what my argument was and you seem to as well. You seem to be under the impression that I’ve been arguing against the fact that plans change which I never was.
(or in your perceived view: 1 of 1 is 100%).
I’m curious to know how does math work in the alternate reality you live in, for 1 of 1 to not be 100%.
And really, again you are talking without doing research. If you knew what you were talking about, you would have linked the post you claim to exist from 2014, as well as the other updates you claim ArenaNet has used to tell people about their (broken) promises. Right now, all you have is a loveable pile of small cats.
Read the rest of my post and you’ll have your answer or I can just tell you again. It has nothing to do with the math but the fact you chose to use one instance and then state that Anet was 100% unable to to fulfill 100% of their promises on that one instance. In other words, the statement of yours was meaningless.
Here’s one link from a quick search. It wasn’t the one I was specifically referring to but it works.
im sorry but that once again proves his point.
Anet changed their plans on precursors,
and they told us it was because they wanted to make it part of a new horizontal progression system
that we could expect in a future feature pack.which essentially means they told us precursors would be coming in a future feature pack along with a new horizontal progression system (masteries) which has now become part of an expansion.
You have shown us once again any long term plans announced by anet can change, and specifically, something that was once supposed to be part of the current price of admission can be shifted to the next expansion (new price of admission)
as it relates to this thread this basically proves that even if they said we can expect some features of HoT to grow with this expansion, it can end up being pushed back to the next expansion.
thing is anet has changed plans like this a number of times, sometimes by implication, sometimes explicitly.
really, the truth is, anet changes their minds, the only things with high likelyhood of coming to pass are things that are extremely short term. Even when they do deliver, it has often drastically changed from its original intent or purpose. Im not saying they should stop saying anything, but the reality is talk of further specializations, more guild halls, more pvp maps, thats the exact type of stuff that usually gets pushed back or changed so radically it bears little resemblence. And many things been pushed back long enough that they are now content for the next expansion. So dont buy this expansion expecting them to add anything but living story, they might add more stuff, but then again they might not.
Please read the posts again. Seriously.
i read the posts, what exactly is it you expect me see that i didnt notice before.
I’m not arguing about plans changing as I had already established that they do. In fact, I didn’t even need to because it’s well known that plans do change and not just in this game.
There’s only been a relatively few instances where Anet had stated something and not followed through with. A lot of them were in that blog post from July 2013. What Test is trying to do is argue that since they were unable to follow through with the items that he handpicked then that means you cannot trust them at all with what they state.
(or in your perceived view: 1 of 1 is 100%).
I’m curious to know how does math work in the alternate reality you live in, for 1 of 1 to not be 100%.

Not really, as many, MANY examples prove.
Many times they made a promise and just left it hanging.
How could we possibly believe when they say they will add more legendary weapons later on? Until now, all – actually 100% – of their promises about more legendary items have not been true.
Many? Really? All of the sources with these “many many examples” contained for examples that refuted your claim and made the many many not seem so many many.
So they made many promises and just left players hanging? That would have to be under the assumption that they did not gives players any updates at all in order to just leave them hanging. So what are these many promises of yours?
They stated in a post back in early 2014, or sometime around then, that precursor crafting and new legendary weapons would be put on hold. They were pretty upfront about it. Do you seriously understand how ridiculous your 100% claim is? Well meaningless is probably a better description since 100% of 1 is 1 (or in your perceived view: 1 of 1 is 100%).
Funny because you did. You only brought up the archery mini-game in a single sentence.
So you completely failed to understand what I wrote. Wow. And you still think you can argue about it.
But I actually have to thank you. You have basically proved my point in this topic – by the examples you have, it’s clear that just because ArenaNet says they will add something to the game, it doesn’t mean they will actually do it. Ergo, all the talk about features they say they will add in the future… Is meaningless. All we can be sure in HoT is what we get at release, or at least the little it looks like HoT will have at release.
Nope. You phrased your post in such a way that you were implying that the blog post items were promised at launch. You also cherry picked the few items that they could not deliver as planned and treated that as confirmation of your argument that Anet can’t keep promises of future content.
I could easily use your same rationale and say that if you have ever been unable to keep your promises a few times then nobody can rely on you to keep them. Nobody is denying that plans change so your point isn’t being proved until you’re just trying to prove the obvious.
What we get when HoT is released is everything we know we will get for sure. Everything else ArenaNet claims they will eventually add one day to the game… Is just a promise. And it wouldn’t be the first or the last time ArenaNet makes a promise they are not going to keep.
he is saying;
whats in hot is all we know for sure
other things are long term plans
anet has shown that long term plans change.his overall point and logic is
only expect what is in hot, because everything that isnt in hot is only a possibility, not a guarantee or reality.which was in response to people saying that we will get/should expect XYZ after release with our purchase.
I wasn’t referring to him pointing out the obvious that plans do change. What I was referring to was his assumption that because of the few times that they had to change their plans that this must mean that you cannot rely on anything they said that they are working on. He was picking the few times that they had to change plans and acting as it was evidence that you cannot trust them. If you are unable to keep 10% (arbitrary low percentage) of your promises then that means we cannot trust you.
Its more than 10% and its probably not malicious, but even if its 10% that basically makes you an unknown quanitity.
What it your boyfriend only cheats on you 10% of the times he has an opportunity
Or your baby sitter only leaves your kids unsupervised 10% of the time
Or you car doesnt start 10% of the time.
All of those things would be considered unreliable. And the thing with anet, they arent just late, sometimes they go very far from what they said or. Like ascended, our last living story was 6 months ago. There was a time they promised new dynamic events and chains constantly added and changed as the world changes. Anet can and will change anything, sometimes good sometimes bad, but extremely uncertain. So yeah you cant really go by what anet says for long term plans, its just things they might do.
And even by what they did say, they never promised most of these things they could add to later were going to be included in this payment other than living story.I think the silence and the mercurial nature of anet have made many decide they dont really trust them. Not in a you are a liar way, but in a you are very uncertain way. They say little, and much of what they do say doesnt turn out the way it seems or doesnt turn out at all.
It could be more than 10% or it could be less. There was no thought put into that percentage as it didn’t really matter. The point of it was to show a very low percentage which is the same case as those promises that Anet hasn’t kept compared to those that they have.
There’s a fairly large difference between someone being cheated on and a production change pushing back something that had been stated would be introduced. The babysitter and car examples don’t really apply and those rely more on the functionality of the product on a whole than something as simply as an announced feature being postponed. Anet servers being down 10% of the time would more closely represent those examples of yours than what you’re trying to compare them to.
Anet did promise those things and they did deliver on them. The thing people seem to forget is that Anet has given players notice when there would be a disruption in that. They let people know the current gap in content was due to all of the staff working on the expansion that many players requested.
I don’t know what you did to our attributes on down-leveled character but lv.80 characters right now are pretty useless, the time it takes for a lv80 zerk ascen-exotic mixed char to kill a veteran is pretty much the same for a lv.11 in queensdale, Not to say you nerf us in advance by taking passive specialization attributes from us.
what does that mean?
leveling, gear customization are rendered useless right now, why armed to the teeth when lv.80 are forced to score like lv.11 no matter what gears we have?
How’s it a silent nerf when it was in the patch notes?
The problem is that Anet can increase the stats but then people would complain about artificial difficulty. Anet could design encounters to be more challenging through mechanics and such but then people would accuse everything being too gimmicky. Anet has done both and the difficulty has been accused of being both depending on the challenge.
Funny because you did. You only brought up the archery mini-game in a single sentence.

And it wouldn’t be the first or the last time ArenaNet makes a promise they are not going to keep.
he is saying;
whats in hot is all we know for sure
other things are long term plans
anet has shown that long term plans change.his overall point and logic is
only expect what is in hot, because everything that isnt in hot is only a possibility, not a guarantee or reality.which was in response to people saying that we will get/should expect XYZ after release with our purchase.
If you are unable to keep 10% (arbitrary low percentage) of your promises then that means we cannot trust you.
you do realize that you guys are arguing his point?
his point is not anet lied to me
his point is anet’s long term plans are subject to change and not set in stone.
showing how they sometimes do long plans and sometimes dont, does not disprove what he is saying.and i think hes right.
Except that’s not what he was arguing at all.
The original Personal Story is, and will be, the initial experience 99% of the new players, for the expansions to come!
ArenaNet is not going to fix the old PS. They barely have resources to make new content (see everyone complaining about how HoT looks like it will only have a couple maps), much less to fix old content.
It would be better if they just hide the PS so most new players won’t even find it. Remove the content tracker about it and make the first step unlockable only at level 10, without telling players about it. Then the great majority of new players would be spared playing through the PS.
And you’re basing this off of what? Nothing?
You’re also assuming that there is actually something broken with the PS. What the OP listed were all subjective items that they personally did not like about the PS. This isn’t the same as something actually broken.
This was posted in July 2013 which was well into the year and just barely a year after the game was released. It disproves your exaggerated claim that they announced the items in the blog when the game was released.
Funny, because I never said the features in the blog were promised at release. In fact, I specifically mentioned the minigames as a feature promised during release, and then talked about the things ArenaNet promised in 2013 by linking the blog. I’m amazed you managed to misunderstand that so completely.
I guess that, before replying to someone’s argument, know what it is that they are saying first. Thanks.
Funny because you did. You only brought up the archery mini-game in a single sentence. Over half your post was about the blog post and how Anet had promised them but didn’t deliver. You started your post by stating that when GW2 was released that there were more things that they intended to release but then did not happen. You then phrased a sentence in such a way about the blog post to give the impression that they had promised a lot at release. At the end of your post you use that very post to argue that Anet probably won’t release everything they promised when they release the expansion.
- Living World and the Two-Week Schedule
- Progression Advancement
- New Skill and Traits
- Rewards
- Champion Rewards
- Dungeon Complete Bonus Rewards
- New Crafting Material Rewards
- Account Magic Find
- Salvaging Fine and Masterwork Items
- Crafting Taken to 500
- Legendary Gear and Precursors
- World vs. World (replacement of orb, etc)
- Looking for Group (LFG) tool
- Two-week schedule was often interrupted with breaks. See the current, six month long break as a nice example.
- The blog mentions “We’ll begin regularly adding new skills and traits to the game for each profession”, which never happened. They added one new profession skill, one new trait per line, and thatw as it. No “regularly” added new skills.
- “Crafting Taken to 500”? How about Jeweler and Chef? Oh wait, those are still stuck at 400!
- “Legendary Gear and Precursors”? Not only they didn’t add the new legendary weapons they said they would have during 2013, they also didn’t add the promised " new types of legendary gear", nor did they add the alternate way to make precursors.
Not to mention the things from that blog you “forgot” to mention (a new and optional tutorial area, new story steps at low levels, and so on and so on) that were never added to the game.
Perhaps you should read my previous post where I stated that you cherry picked the few items from the blog that weren’t released and then argued as if it was evidence that Anet doesn’t keep their promises. You completely ignored everything that they did promise and focused on the few things they had to change plans for.
How many of these made it into the game? The majority did although some are debatable as to how successful they actually were such as for WvW.
So you’re proving my point that many of the things ArenaNet promised were not implemented in game (not in the timeframe ArenaNet claimed they would be added, neither until today). And you’re also adding that many of the things they did add actually failed (see WvW).
So yep, people have a lot of reasons to fear ArenaNet’s current promises about the content they plan to add to HoT. The only content we can be sure of is the content the expansion will have at release… And it looks like it will be a rather incomplete release at that.
No. You saying “many” is an exaggeration. There were only a handful of items that got pushed back to a later time as we saw when they announced the expansion. Whether something was successful or not was not part of your argument and does not go with your argument as all anyway as it has nothing to do with content being released.
All you’ve managed to show is that you can find a list of items, see that a few of them they couldn’t provide, and then make the sweeping assumption that Anet can’t keep promises because of that.
You’ll likely after to wait until the expansion is released at the longest.

Having played my share of other MMOs, I find this entire discussion to be surreal. I can’t believe how spoiled the average gamer is these days! There’s no subscription fee for this game, so how is $50 an unfair price after they’ve supported a game with no mandated additional fees beyond the initial purchase price for three years? But you’re not happy that new players are getting a good deal even though that can only be a good thing for the continued health of the game? The whole train of thought is just unbelievable to me …
ArenaNet doesn’t owe existing players a darn thing! You bought the game, you got to play it up until now, but now it’s time to pay up again. End of story. Anyone who doesn’t like it can move on to something else. There are plenty of other games out there.
You are missing the whole point of those comments you are complaining about. I myself find myself in a difficult financial situation like those people “complaining” and to me 45€ for the standard version is a huge expense.
In my country unemployment benefit is 65€ on average, so think before you speak. (And do not ask, I will not disclose the details of my origin.)
A paid upgrade is fine, an expensive upgrade not so, it’s like paying for the game all over again and that is a bit too much to ask for, yes.
If the upgrade cost around 10€ I would be fine with it, because ANet would still earn a load of money from all the customers they have (several hundreds of thousands I presume). At this point it’s only about who is insatiable.
Have you played any MMO’s that have had paid subscriptions?
You’re not buying the core game again. It’s a free bonus for all new accounts which purchase the expansion. As far as not buying the expansion, you’ll still be able to play everything like you do today.
So you cherry picked the few items that they couldn’t bring either entirely or partially while ignoring everything else they they were able to? Also, that article happened well have the release of the core game.
Oh? Are you going to cherry pick the few items that they could bring while ignoring everything else they they were not able to?
Because even if you did, you would still be proving my point – the only part of HoT we know we will get for sure is what the game has at release. Everything else ArenaNet promises may simply not happen, just like some of the things they talked about before never happened as well.
Before plagiarizing someone’s argument, know what it is that they are saying first. Thanks.
Let’s refer to the following link that you posted:

This was posted in July 2013 which was well into the year and just barely a year after the game was released. It disproves your exaggerated claim that they announced the items in the blog when the game was released.
Within the blog they have several sections with things that they had planned to bring to the game.
- Living World and the Two-Week Schedule
- Progression Advancement
- New Skill and Traits
- Rewards
- Champion Rewards
- Dungeon Complete Bonus Rewards
- New Crafting Material Rewards
- Account Magic Find
- Salvaging Fine and Masterwork Items
- Crafting Taken to 500

- World vs. World (replacement of orb, etc)
- Looking for Group (LFG) tool
How many of these made it into the game? The majority did although some are debatable as to how successful they actually were such as for WvW.
What you’re doing is picking the few things that they were unable to deliver on, which they did state in posts on the forums when they realized they would not be able to, and then using that as conformation that Anet will promise things for future HoT releases and not deliver.
