More armor.
More survivability.
More maneuverable.
More damage.

Getting two shot’d by a warrior whilst they’re in god mode; standing in a blind field no less. Holy kittens! Over 15k damage in LESS than a second.

At least with back stab you have to be stealthed and behind the target to do this kind of damage.

Verbal abuse

Azure Prower.8701

People like that exist in this game and its something you will have to deal with. Besides you’re not explaining what the situation was, if he was frustrated enough he was probably venting and had an understandable reason. If I get annoyed with the attitude or competence of a pug I will sometimes use profanity and then leave the group or kick the person who is incompetent—this happens when I post for ‘exp only’ and then some random noob joins and acts like he knows whats up. Other times I might be in this conversation with another person where we rage-whisper each other but I usually don’t resort to bad language if I can help it. Being rude is obviously not a crime in this game and unfortunately there are too many who are (myself included, sometimes). If worst comes to worst you can always block him so that he can’t ‘verbally abuse’ you anymore, or just use invis status so you wont have to deal with rage-whispers at all.

Actually had one guy who got upset that I blocked them and jumped on another account to message further abuse. All because they died to me in sPvP.

Someone got shot in my neighborhood, and the policeman decided not to catch the gun shooter because it’s is too dangerous.

When ask the policeman why he didn’t do anything he said it’s the civilians own fault that the neighborhood is too dangerous.

Yes, if no one want to do Tequatl on your server it is not Anet’s fault. It is the fault of players on your server.

I’m sorry to hear someone got shot in your neighborhood. If it’s too dangerous, you should move.

I totally get it why you always blame the players instead of Anet now.

Not everyone have the luxury to move to better country or even better neighborhood. And the neighborhood I mean here means place in the country is too dangerous.

Bad analogy is bad.

If you really want to do it that bad, you can just join TTS or go to another server and sit there and wait your time.

Also your suggestions is what is wrong with this game.

So you really can’t blame ANET, that was actually a good solution to what players were asking.

So if you;re in Lornar Pass and see a gigantic marionette walking around, you do what heroes do: either go and stop it, or flee because you’re underpowered.

And what if you’re on the other side of the map, and you don’t see the marionette, but it still kills you?

Or what if you just entered the map, you are still in your loading screen, and it kills you?

People that are not taking part in the battle, and are not close to the marionette, should not be getting killed.

Good time for new players to join the game!

why not an oceanic server?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Azure Prower.8701

Azure Prower.8701

My guess is it’s too expensive to justify. For them to have Oceanic servers they would have to have at least one physical computer somewhere in the region, employ at least one person to maintain it, pay for space to house it, power etc.

I assume someone somewhere has done the maths, estimated the number of potential players who are currently put off by the connection speed (or simply the lack of a dedicated server) based on research done on other games and concluded that it’s not worth it.

Plus it’d make WvW pretty boring. As someone said there are barely enough Oceanic players to fill 3 servers, so you’d be stuck playing the same 2 opponents day in and day out. At least this way you can be a servers night squad and be the ones counted on to make a difference in a close match-up.

Sea of Sorrows is pretty much the unofficial Oceanic server so you shouldn’t have trouble finding people to play with there. Not sure about the ping although I don’t think ping affects the game that much.

Actually no. This is incorrect.

I’ve played Guild Wars 2 in Australia. Then traveled to a friends place in the USA and played Guild Wars 2 there.

The difference is night and day.

No rubber banding when using things such as infiltrator’s arrow.

I was actually able to counter my opponent’s moves in PvP with out being handicapped by lag.

This doesn’t really mean anything. It’s entirely possible for two people next door to each other, or even in the same house, to have different connection speeds and lag issues. It depends on many, many things other than where in the world you are. Your computer, the cable connecting it to the router, the router itself, the cable from your house to the main network, that network’s cables, how the ISP handles data (do they throttle you back at peak times for example), the weather…

Of course the same applies to everyone else posting in this thread too. Aside from going around measuring everyone’s internet connection and checking all the different factors individually all you can really do is take a general consensus.

Thanks Arm Chair technician.

But I think it has to do with more so the distance from the server. Seeing as it has to make a jump across an ocean.

Hahaha…

I see what you did there.

Grow Up.

They do need an adjustment, they are the dominant meta in two out of three pillars of the game and are viable in the rest of it.

If you are going to nerf full glass zerk because it is seen as dominant in a niche subset of pve (high end speed running), then it is utterly hypocritical to suggest the current condi/bunker and lolPVT facetank meta is completely fine.

Telling someone to “grow up” doesn’t exactly counter that fact.

Other posters have managed to at least attempt to offer reasons as to why the condi/bunker meta isn’t an issue, you spouting what is tantamount to “omg you are all angry lolzerkers” doesn’t give you much credibility.

Using zerkers against bunker gear users is already comparable to throwing stones at an armored personal carrier.

Now they’re nerfing zerkers damage among other things by 10%. They’re buffing bunker users in WvW with out any draw backs. Thus their damage reduction needs to be reduced by at least 10% to match.

Zerker is already considered not viable in WvW. Even mocked as free rallies by the elite. This must change.

A simple solution.

Complete the PvE map first. Get a silver star and one gift of exploration.
Complete the WvW map first. Get a silver star and one gift of exploration.

Complete both in any order. Get the title ‘Been there. Done that.’, a gold star and two gifts of exploration.

Too much of a focus on things like the SAB leads to a loss of identity. If the game were to discard its lore and characters than it would lose it’s identity completely. What separates it from any other generic game out there?

That is the only single thing that makes this game unique.

I’d rather have a save feature for traits we pick first. That’s more of a pain than ‘hmmm, what color shall I wear today?’

This would be an imbalance and OP problem.
Can you imagine if you can re-trait whenever you want or when its out of combat?

“Oh 5 guys are chasing me, lets ooc for a bit and then switch to tank and start annoy them, and perhaps getting one or two kills along the way”
-or-
“Oh I’m on bulky build, I saw 1 guy there, lets swap to zerg and heavy damage to eat him!!”

If you put a cooldown of every 5 mins or so, I’d better went back to town and get back to my current location via wp (less than 1 min) effort to re-trait if i need it urgently.

Low cooldown = abuse. High cooldown = no point to implement.

Many problems could arise there i guess..

You’re forgetting that you require a cash shop item to do that or need to go back to town.

What I’m suggesting is a save feature so you don’t have to manually reclick in your trait lines and major traits.

In that case neither are important so it won’t make a difference. Its not really anything big to neg out on.

I obviously stated what was more important.

How ever Anet’s resources are likely already stretched thin in the UI department. One would have to take priority over the other for the time being if either suggestion is taken at all.

Increase of grind. Lack of new content.

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Azure Prower.8701

So because of the fact that they revamped Fractals and added Ascended Armor (which had been known for a YEAR before it actually came btw) you can no longer enjoy the content you enjoyed before?

Are you sure you really enjoyed the content before then? Because none of that content have been changed in the slightest with any of those releases (unless you only wanted to do fractals, but they haven’t really seen much change either (other than adding some extra challenge)).

In your post it says “none of that content have been changed in the slightest with any of those releases.” Hello, this is what his problem is. He says it pretty clearly.

He is saying that the content was enjoyable, but it has gotten old and he isn’t really interesting in being forced to grind it even more for ascended gear. He wants new content instead.

Two things I’d like to point out. They stated they “hope this will be the last tier they introduce.” Not that it will be.

They’ve also mentioned the idea of raising the level cap as a certainty in future. Meaning all your level 80 gear? Worthless.

So they have a few more tricks up their selves for vertical progression grinding than you think.

Of course not that I’m berating them on such. Only if they throw it in like they did with ascended gear: “Here’s a grind and nothing else. Have fun!”

I don’t really see the issue with increasing the level cap as long as ascended and legendary gear automatically upgrades to the max level.

Anet said that Legendary [weapons] will always be the best tier.

That’s where they get a lot of people in a verbal loophole.

Here are tiers:
Basic
Fine
Masterwork
Rare
Exotic
Ascended
Legendary <- Best tier

Here are levels:
10
20
30
40
50
60
70
80
90 <- Not a tier
etc.

There’s no guarantee they will scale.

maybe all the others are ok with the game…or already quitted ;D

Oh I’m definitely not ok with the grind, but by the looks of it there’s no hope of Anet stopping it. It’s the only way they know how to create content that keeps players playing (fun, enjoyable content — what’s that?).

Lots of people here are deluding themselves into thinking that “Ascended will be it — the last bit of stuff to grind and then we’ll start getting quality content.” But there’s no way that’s true. As I said, infusion slot stat grind will almost certainly come next.

As primarily a WvW player, when I reach the point that I feel I can’t keep up with the Joneses on the grind, I’ll quit. It’s already pretty bad in that I’m playing less and less with alts because they are undergeared — so the game is getting more and more stale.
