I am not trying to be rude, but I have never had this issue. In Everquest, World of Warcraft, City of Heroes, Warhammer Online, RIFT, or even Guild Wars 2….I have never done this. If you spend a week farming something, you should spend 5 second making sure you are buying the right thing. I doubt that logic would apply anywhere else in the world (at the supermarket, at your local Subway, etc).
If you spend time farming for something, be patient and read it.

Actually in the real world there’s something called receipts and returns…in terms of fast food you’re ordering consumables. Is armor a consumable? Am I going to devour it?
What’s with all this talk about blaming Anet? No one has said anything of the sort…
have you read the OP ?
Where in the OP did I say it was Anets fault? That’s your assumption, don’t imprint what you think I mean over what I’ve said, thank you for your understanding.
I’m fine with it too. The only time Im not happy with it is when 2 zergs meet and a gigantic positioning war happens.
For karma gear I feel a 4th color slot would be acceptable…I mean its karma gear…the most absurd gear in the game to get bar the WvW Mist Walker armor.
I’ve had this happen in Cursed Shore before, haven’t seen I in a while though.
Server: Gate of Madness
Problem: Plinx is bugged, he killed the Broodmother but poison or something finished him off at the last second, he went down and is frozen with full health/is invulnerable and nothing is moving him…
Please reset his quest. This is a pretty important DE chain that attracts a lot of people.
Man, I would not want to be a human having sex with a Sylvari. There’s comments made about how Sylvari think humans are squishy in the story mode…if they’re hard like wood this implies a rather painful experience…
Good for you, I was just in game looking at it, you’ll notice the effects for shadow step being used in DB to disguise the animation of DB.
for the 1st link: there’s a spinning animation, that’s a improvement.
for the second link there’s blurring which helps disguise the animation as not actually being fluid.
So we take the positioning of the 1st link (if you think about it for even half a second this is logical) and use the effects of the 2nd link we get the suggested idea.
well you do. because you say you want death blossom, but you don’t want it upside down.
the result of a not-upside-down death blossom is the animation we have right now.
you’re asking for something we already have.
…okay, you should reread what I’ve typed. You’re clearly missing out on some basic information which has already been typed. Have a nice day.
SM is only hard if you’re running through with as pug that has bad gear. Now if you said Arah SM is hard I’d have to agree.
so instead of spinning like a cross, you want them floating in midair, upside down, on the same cross pose, for 10 seconds?
yeah, that doesn’t sound ridiculous at all.
Yes, they’ll clearly be upside down because that makes complete sense…
You must be trolling because there’s no way anyone is dumb enough to muck this up…you asked for the death blossom animation. look at death blossom. your character stretches his/her arms wide, like a cross, then leaps while doing a front flip and spinning.
the entirety of the animation has your character upside down, spinning. here, look at it:
Yes now apply that to Dagger Storm. It makes no sense they’d be twirling upside down…absolutely no sense, however the spinning and blurring with the thief in that animation would work quite well.
I didn’t think I’d need to clarify something that basic…
My brother runs in FULL magic find gear and spams his marks on staff and facerolls 90% of pve I watch him all the time, sure which my thief could do that bro…
Full MF gear, Signet of Malice, S/P or S/D. Spam auto attack while holding down strafe or spam pistol whip. PvE isn’t hard.
Wow you basically described what I do in PvE…mind you the MF gear is only there until I get the karma for my exotic karma armor and runes to socket over my pirate runes.
Instead I farm Morgan’s Leap for charged Lodestones.
I average 1-2 per hour which beats the crap out of farming Plinx (2-4g)
That being said though I’m farming Plinx for karma at the moment.
so instead of spinning like a cross, you want them floating in midair, upside down, on the same cross pose, for 10 seconds?

Thanks for the help guys, I’ve been making great progress on my karma farming (12k in 1 hour without using the 50% karma booster-my mistake there).
Once I collect all the karma I need and get my Sylvari Thief looking exactly how I want I’ll post some screen shots.
I don’t use it but I know of people who do, it works pretty good but at the cost of burst damage. You basically are reduced to annoying your opponent to death over the course for 30 minutes when you build for the perma-stealth build.
I dont see how that would work for the amount of time the skill is in use, would the thief flop around on the ground like a fish?
Hahaha that made me laugh (ouch I had surgery it hurtssssss), they’d be vertical while spinning., not horizontal.
This animation looks terrible…not the effects of throwing daggers but the Jesus pose the thief does while in DS.
What I suggest is changing the animation to Death Blossom’s mid air spin.
The last set of traits (at least for thieves) are pretty bad and not worth it bar a niche build though…but I see your point.
Why not have separate daily for WvW and PvE?
I support the monthly being PvE and WvW but its plausible to throw the hardcore WvW peeps a bone and to make it slightly different they get Badges of Honor instead of Karma.
I’d actually go to lower level areas if the drops scaled. these trashy lvl 74 pieces do not compare to the lvl 80 rares I consistently get and therefore I will not be visiting lower areas until my character is perfected (bar legendary weapons because they’re either ugly or such a time/gold/karma sink it’s mind boggling) and when I do go back there it’ll be to help out the newbies with their DEs before I go back to owning dungeons and maybe some WvW.
I wouldn’t mind another trait we get for completing a trait tree but the trait would have to be passive.
What I think would be cool is everyone gets a charge ability that adds 10 power/precision/vitality/toughness (depending on the trait tree you’ve completed) per charge with a maximum of 25 charges that reset upon death for every consecutive kill. Exactly like superior sigils but instead it works on a charge system so you can still use the sigils.
Thief seems just… really really boring for PvE. 99% of the time you are just spamming cluster bomb or pistol whip over and over.
Simply leveling one was painful for me, I can’t imagine trying to do something like a HotW boss without falling asleep as a thief.
A little off topic but that anime kicks kitten <3
Removing all CC from Orr is bad, just reduce it.
I shouldn’t have to deal with 2 pulls, fear, knockdowns and immobilizes from trash mobs. Not when you get groups of them spawning together and start a CC chain (making it so I cannot fight back).
I don’t like WvW too but its for a achievement…call it added incentive to do WvW.
What’s with all this talk about blaming Anet? No one has said anything of the sort…
A lot of abilities are condition based. I personally play a ton of ranger shortbow, which has an auto-attack that is glorious (even after the nerf). My other skills are very situational on the short bow: A cripple to slow down a chaser, a poison spread to lower healing over multiple enemies, a daze, and a dodge/swiftness. There no sense in blowing all those things, and just through smart positioning and auto-attacking, I can put out bunches of condi-DPS.
I don’t imagine we’ll implement something that allows you to observe another player’s “work-rate” because with all the different ways to make and play a character, it would be difficult to measure and quantify someone’s input in a factual way. It’s not about the numbers you make as an individual, but the team-play and coordination as a group.
Well said, +1
What on earth…how is your PW doing that little damage? Almost all the time my PW does 5k damage and my auto attacks are doing around 3k damage. I’m not even a glass build either…
I recently did this with a group of 7. It’s not hard but it requires people acting like a dungeon (looks at you the silly BS glass thief).
With Windows 8 shaping up to be a bit of a shocker, Metro interface chiefly to blame, this may become a necessity!
Windows 8 is fine, I’m running GW2 on it right now and no issues what so ever.
I use Power/Vit/Toughness, it works great for PvE and dungeons.
Here’s an idea: once 25 bleeds are stacked they create 1 “greater bleed” stack. The greater bleed damage and duration would need to be balanced but this would allow for multiple condition builds to pound on a target while maintaining the balance of not having 100 bleeds stacked on a boss.
Seeee we can have our cake and eat it too.
running dungeons with pug is like shooting ur self in the legs while u trying to run.
I don’t entirely agree but I do notice that your pug should consist of mostly lvl 80s and at least 1 guardian otherwise you’re asking for a auto-disaster.
SSS is annoying but you ARE aware you can bypass him, right?
Plus he’s not unbeatable.
+1 this is a good idea, keep waypoint costs…just not to cities.
I think this is fairly important. I received an update on my problem, it’s not that they won’t help its that they don’t have the option to help.
Kinda sucks, that’s a good weeks worth of work out the window for me.
I truly hope they just somehow nerf the Burst builds…nerfing Backstab would be really devastating for D/P Thieves like me who don’t have crazy 18k Mug/Backstab every 30 sek. builds
That’s why I chose S/P, its already been nerfed so my gear won’t become trash since they aren’t gonna nerf it again.
If said materials were only for aesthetic craftables such as legendaries, sure.
Just make a warrior or guardian instead. Thieves are worthless in everything except PvP.
This must be why I tank just as well as guardians while dealing superior damage.
Trick is you can’t take a glass thief into a dungeon because they’re too fragile and their burst isn’t even high enough to kill most trash mobs in dungeon.
I’m a tank because PW+SoM+Haste+Trickster means I’m constantly healing as I attack while evading and dealing solid dps. (in WvW I double as a mobile battering ram)
Works for Orr, works for dungeons. Doesn’t work in low level areas because you’re scaled back so much the heal isn’t enough.
And yeah that barn boss was horrible, what kind of boss only tosses bombs…slowly?
Goldfarmers will then just invite you to a guild they create, the patterns are already there so that would be an unrectified limitation for all legit players that won’t prevent botting.
That’s the point, gold farming clans which can be targeted and dealt with.
If you want to share gold with someone legit then you simply invite them to the guild, you do your sharing and the transaction ends.
The guild part is more or less a work around to let people still give each other gold.
Making gold account bound obliterates all gold farming.
I think you’re overly defensive, a Hb glass spec has low survivability which in turn means you die more in dungeons where dmg isn’t everything. High damage is good but its no good if your party is carrying you through because you die non-stop
I’m fully aware of the shortcomings of this build, but my standard party composition negates these issues. Try running a zerker glass cannon with 2 guardians on your team and you’ll see my point.
I have before and I still died far too often. In Dungeons you need 1 of 2 things.
A party who’s willing to babysit you for your dps or Survivability so you can continuously benefit your team through dps/burst damage and/or tanking.
There’s a reason why glass isn’t appreciated in dungeons and ergo glass builds in dungeons is like bringing a full set of MF gear, not the best idea if you’re a team player.
Heck, I’ve been in parties where we’ve kicked the glass because they were too much of a liability.
Just because you are the type of player who likes to stack 5 support traited characters and then finish content without having to pay much attention to the actual dungeon due to your excessive amounts of boons and heals, doesn’t mean everyone likes to play that way. I’m sure you are the kind of guy who finishes paths in 30-45min then come on forums and proclaim how you “plowed” through content without any deaths running your immortal shout warrior, and believe me when I say this; all of this is complete fine with me.
It’s just that some people want to, and will, complete dungeon paths twice as fast as you because they actually think of a good team composition (where DPS is an integral part, rather than an afterthought) instead of trying to compensate for their shortcomings during the actual combat with excessive amounts of support.
Actually I play a S/P Signet Thief. I do high dps and I can tank just as well as a non-bunker guardian.
The fastest dungeon run I’ve ever done was 20 mins but hey, continue with your assumptions…by law of averages eventually you’ll get something right.
That 20 min was what path, if I may ask?
CM Asura Path.
Agreed, one time events should be 2 times, spaced 12 hours apart.

Good thing I sold all mine when Candy Corn was selling for 20 bronze each.
Make gold account bound, poof all 3rd party gold sellers pack up their bags and leave and as a consequence the naked ranger ensembles would disappear.
The only catch is we couldn’t transfer gold between each other but to combat this I suggest setting up a system that uses your guild banks to transfer gold to fellow guild members.
This would consolidate the remaining RMTs and the buyers into easily recognizable patterns which then allow for them to be punished severely.
A: Make gold account bound.
A good way to dampen RMT is to make gold work similar to gems, karma, badges, etc. That is, make gold account bound and usable only in trade through the TP or NPCs. To be honest, I have never given, or received, gold from another player. We often exchange materials or crafted items; especially rare or better items that end up being soul-bound, anyway.
Gold could be prevented for trade between players and not affect my friends or I in the least.
This would literally stomp RMT and thus hurt a lot of the naked ranger botting.
+1 make gold account bound.
I haven’t broken 30k yet on anything significant, but I’m using pwr/vit/tgh armour and berserker jewellery. Mind even then that’s with 20-25 might stacks. I don’t think I’d want to set up to hit 40k with hundred blades, and then stand close enough to something to use hundred blades. It might look at me sternly, and I’m not sure I’d survive.
xD yeah glass specs are pretty squishy especially where that 40k Hb would be useful.
