Yes you do. The PvE wings are different than the PvP ones. You don’t have to play the game at all if you just want any wings, you can buy plenty off the gem store, but if you want The Ascension wings, currently they can only be found through the league season. There is no argument to the contrary.

It’s not about treating them as “second class,” it’s about not treating them as “first class” above all others by having unique rewards. Anything that can ONLY be earned in PvP should only be usable in PvP. Anything that can be used in other game modes should be earnable in those game modes.

They aren’t being treated as first class it is a PvP reward for doing PvP, the same pve has its on specific legendary back piece reward. And they had the whole PvP only skins and pve only skins people didn’t like it they removed that years ago, do a little reading on it you will be amazed, and again specific rewards for specific content Is a good thing, just because you don’t want to put the actual work in for content specific rewards is not a problem of Anets or anyone else’s except yours. You don’t see people complaining about how Ad Infinitum is not attainable in PvP.

I only see one boss ever cause a wipe from not enough dos and that’s Gorseval so gg, if you are having issues with dos on the other bosses it’s a player issue not a raid issue

Viable ? No. fun to use and burst people down?, especially DHs Yes.
I think removing the enrage timer would be a good idea as an optional thing for people to learn the mechanics of the fight. However this mode can not give out any rewards as doing the real thing should be rewarded properly.
The thing is just doing the fight does the same thing, you don’t need to remove the timers to learn the fights.

Unrelentig Assault – changed into a 2 step skill. The first step is called Mark of the Reaper which applies an undispelable debuff. Unrelenting Assault can only hit a target which has Mark of the Reaper on it. Also the focus of the camera will shift from the caster towards the enemy hit by UA for the duration of the skill – reseting to normal at the end.
AKA: “please make my favorite skill applicable to every situation and every fight so I don’t have to think about when to use it skillfully”

Equip Maurauder amulet With Scholar Runes or Wurm Runes, run Withdraw or Channeled Vigor, Shadowstep, Bandits Defense or Blinding Powder, Signet of Agility Elite is Basilisk Venom, Now Equip Shortbow in secondary slot, then Equip Dagger mainland, Pistol Offhand with sigils of Air and Blood profit spamming number 3 and using BP HS combo
Best way to kill DH as a Thief is P/P using assassins with AS, Haste and Either Devourer Venom or Skale Venom, kite from Range and watch them melt as they try to get you on their traps like noobs. This works great 1v1 or for sniping people in group fights.

You will only have 11k Hp so if you are not good on positioning/ disengaging you will die so fast.

Again if they just made all pets stats derived from the Rangers then it would also be balanced.
If they cared about build diversity then why are all classes shoe horned into 1 maybe two specs? They would actually have ranger/Druid be balanced if they made pets attributes be derived from the players attributes, the diversity would come from each pets utility not their stats because right now rangers don’t lose very much going bunker yet can do high burst with their pets and the Druid/ranger isn’t a complete potato.

If they keep the icd they should make all stealth attacks unblockable, with Anets current “balancing” philosophy it is the only logical choice.
People saying removing enrage timer would solve all issues seem to forget all the nerf T4 Swamp threads, no enrage timer yet so much slat and the mechanics are a lot easier than any of the raid wings/ fights yet so many people want it nerfed. Removing enrage timers is not the solution.
My question is why do thieves have this nerf to stealth attacks while other classes with stealth are unaffected. (Mesmers I’m looking at you.)

You stop the dodging… During what window? I’m calling vault and d/d 3 passive btw, because they’re not just raw dodges.
There is no window on some playstyles, but I still crap on scrubby thieves, it’s still a bit ridiculous to have one appear out of nowhere on point and completely slam 4 people for 20k damage without being able to be hit.

The animations for both Vault and Deathblossom are 1/2 sec long the evade is only on the beginning of the animations lasting a whole 1/4 sec leaving more than enough time for the after cast and the precast of the next Vault/Deathblossom for you to cc the Thief. Just saying and every evade except for The one in Acro takes active input, so they are by no means Passives, and if you remove those then all Weapon attacks that provide block and evade on every other class should be removed as well. Since thief isn’t the only one.

reflects count as blocks dude. can you imagine popping that and then using unload twice. It’s fine for gubflame because you can’t spam it three times in a row. it’s not for unload because unload is spamable, grants might. So no
Oh I know what I am saying is that they will only have to deal with it every 30 seconds while all reflects and blocks are on shorter CD so the other attacks will barely do damage. So have at it
I will be playing around I was just curious since I had ascended viper gear not being used, might as well test out more so will post findings tonight when I fully unlock DD on my second Thief
So I am looking at messing around with a Hybrid build but don’t think it would be all that viable mainly using Vipers And Dire, running D/D, was looking at possibly using Superior Rune of Thorns, with DA/Tri/DD? Does anyone have any suggestions? Or should I scrap the idea? Was playing around with it without the run of thorns and without DD it was a little clunky, but against some match ups it did well.
Come on we all know that Anet loves power creep lets get a chance at a ride on the power creep train…… I want to make Engies fear thieves for a little bit with P/P especially running assassins amulet. Lol
In all honesty I don’t think balance will get any better they have essentially said they want thieves as sole +1/ decap, I doubt any suggestions will be heard they just ignore the main issues and throw out unnecessary nerfs and changes.

I am of half a mind to tank my MMR and ride the gravy train…….. Even though I don’t need to PvP, but even showing the flaws in matchmaker won’t do anything, they cater to the lowest denominator and this is what we end up with.

Elite specs are not stackable since there is only 1 and two they are tied to the last slot only. And just because you thought they would replace the trait line that modifies the primary class mechanics does not mean that Anet was going to do that since they never said anything like that.
You know that’s the whole idea and why they are called Elite Specs, you can only have one active at a time, that is why elite specs are locked to the last specialization slot.
You know that the divisions have never been a reflection of skill, it has been proven that you can manipulate your way to higher divisions each season… The problem is that they never reset MMR for leagues and that there are Saffe pips making people think they were better than they actually were, if you can’t lose pips from the beginning then no tier actually shows skill since you can’t move downward for being bad.
The previous seasons favored Newer Accts with above average MMR baseline at 1500 you were generally placed on the winning team older Accts were at a disadvantage when it came to match making,’the very first season allowed for MMR averages to be manipulated, this season allows you to manipulate matchmaking by ganking you MMR while in the safe pip ranges so the match makers favors you and places you with better MMR players
See I’ve always had higher than average MMR and I literally have to carry every single match to work my way to get a pip. If I am not in the team fight my team loses, if I am not +1ing an even fight then my team loses, if I lose my 1v1s I lose the game. I am forced to play the perfect game of my life in each match in order to advance and while that is good, there are many, many matches that I just can’t do it because my teammates are just plain bad. And those bad matches happen every so often that it drives me to frustration and to make it worse I know I lost the match when I won 1v2 or 2v3 but my teammates were killed so easily that there is no chance of coming back.
When people think of close games they think the matches were even, but in my case I literally had to give 130% just to get to that close game range only to see my teammates making dumb mistakes/rotations to lose. And its really draining me at this point to do everything I can plus more but still losing the match because of this matchmaking. And I know I am the difference maker in at least 90% of the matches I had so far in this season because if I don’t perform at my 100% then my team loses, but if I go 110% or more then at least my team has a chance of coming back.
And if I win I get worse players on my team while my opponents get stronger, leaving me 1 step forward and 2 steps back until my friends take pity on me and we duo/trio queue to farm those poor solo queuers until we meet the pro league premade/solo queuers. Also my queue time is well over average of 6~7 minutes so I’m assuming that is trying to account me into giving me the worst teammates as possible.
The fix, if you are in the safe pip range of being the very first pop of a tier, or first tier of Ruby and Diamond, you can throw matches over and over to tank your MMR and boom you will be matched with non potatoes.
I’m finding matches better. Risking jinxing myself, I’m running over 50% wins and one of my best win streaks at the moment.
If I can sustain this, I’ll hit Ruby and in doing so finally get those bloody wings.
There have been a couple of blowouts, but they have been few and far between. I’m not finding I’m facing overwhelming odds regularly. That’s in direct contrast to the previous two seasons.
The only fly in the ointment at the moment is teams like one I faced recently, 3 DH, 2 Druid. They appeared to be voice coordinated and won with little effort.
This is due to your MMR being tanked from the last few seasons from all of those losses you had, you are being favored and carried because of your horrible MMR, and being placed with players that have much higher MMR than yourself.

So currently Vipers gear can be attained a few ways.
Armors and Weapons can be crafted/ stat swapped, they can be purchased from raids as well.
Trinkets all have to be bought, either from Raids or from Bloodstone Fen*
*Bloodstone Fen only offers Amulet, a unique Ring and a back piece.
The Amulet can also be had from completing Migraine.

Sapphire-Ruby 3rd Div Cross; applied to year 3 achievment
S4 (currently)

By this you would be 1/4 for year 4s League Elite.
For a grand total of 7 Division crossings, meaning you should need 3 more division crossings. Now this doesn’t match up to your 2/4 crossings for league elite year 4. So you may have had 1 crossing in season 1 or gotten to sapphire in season 2.
Also with Ranger bundle, you can use HS for a Healing Combo as well as a few others to help with some sustain.
I don’t think y’all should be getting onto ANET for not allowing players to progress through the achievements or get the wings after the seasons. If they didn’t play a couple seasons, then that is their fault, not ANET’s.

For me problem is that I’m ruby atm, and cant really cross 4 more divisions in this season and as people mention and close to logic, there will be only 4 seasons in Year of ascension. So the only my mistake is that I’ve started playing gw in 3rd season.

For casual pvpers who started in the second or third season this achievement in particular is the worst. Many won’t get the wings i see >.>
That’s not Anets fault, and it is so easy to achieve either way with minimal effort, also it was never intended that everyone get the wings.
If you started path IV League Elite this season then the Amber crossing would apply to III before it unlocks IV. Which X Seasons did you play and what division did you get each season?

You do realize that if you didn’t have Part III League Crossings completed one of those would have applied before Year IVs League Elite. You did not get slighted on a division crossing.

Who is to say there is a Season 5? The seasons started December 1st of 2015, but there are only 4 years of the Ascension which one would assume would correlate to how many Seasons, but Anet is vague as usual and haven’t said one way or the other when the Year of the Ascension ends.
Currently seasons have been 8 weeks Long and has 30 days in between the seasons this current season ends on October 9th so November 9th would be the start of the hypothetical Season 5 which wouldn’t give 8 weeks till December 1st 2016 which would be exactly 12 months and would be the end of the year of the Ascension.
DH is strong against some thief builds but S/P nukes them easily, particularly trap builds.
I’ve heard this a couple times. What about S/P gives DH a hard time that D/P doesn’t?
Is it just the evade-frames on PW messing with trap damage?I play a lot of D/P and can beat DHs consistently. But it’s a lot of resetting & baiting out their high CD blocks. It’s a pretty tedious fight with little room for error.
The IS/IR to Proc traps, Combo’d with PW and Steal allow for you to avoid the brunt of the damage while deal pretty decent damage while interrupting which can Proc PI as well.
As far as I can tell yes they may squeeze a 5th season in that starts in November or late October, they say you can still work on parts of the Ascension afterwards at a higher cost so idk. But I believe they will have the 4 seasons total
