Belittling, Insulting, Humiliating and Disrespecting the OP
It’s obvious you are the “cry baby” by your Immature post

Sin,
I totally agree and many players agree as well.
The only one who don’t agree are the Golden Child class; Thief.
As the saying goes, “Liars will always say they’re telling the truth”, that’s the thief.
The only ones who can nerf The Golden Child Class is by having new dev team who don’t practice Favoritism.
Until than.
we’re all Kitten cause the ones we have now are All In Favor this class.
In addition to this so called “Anti-Stealth Trap”
Is a totally joke, why? well ask yourself this, “do you really think a thief will actually run away once the trap is activated and leave you alone”?
Of course not!
All it takes for them is to wait outside of the “anti-stealth area” and once 30 seconds elapses; they will activate their stealth kill mode to Eliminate us.
So as Always,
As Always,
The Joke Is On Us
And will continue to be until we have a new team put in place who doesn’t practice nor who believes in Favoritism.
Who can put an End to this whole Theatrics, The Golden Child Class Invincible /Stealth Thief who was given *Full Supremacy in all stats in wvw.

“Thieves are the new WvW class”.
They’ve always been.. why so late OP?
The Golden Child Class get’s everything, and will continue to get away from everything.

Nothing,
Absolutely just Nothing.

After reading May 14 patch “Traps and Tricks Outfitter.” I realized this, “Traps are sold by the vendor for 15 badges and 525 karma; they will stack to 250 and are account-bound”.
Instead of addressing Stealth, they choose to Market Stealth for their profits; jus too keep the servers busy, {business wise}.
Unfortunately,
Stealth is here to stay.
(edited by Burnfall.9573)
I’m not Impress at all at this new implementation of “Traps and Tricks Outfitter.”
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/info/news/Game-Update-Notes-May-14-2013
Instead of giving each non-stealth classes a permanent anti-stealth utility in dealing with stealth class they decided that “consumable anti-stealth” was ‘fair and square’.
Well it aint “fair and square”
“Traps have been added as a new purchasable consumable utility item. Two unique variants are available”.
I call that Punishment for non thief classes because this “new feature” isn’t fair and Balanced at all.
So in other word, the only way to “fight and win a stealth thief class” is to Pay a Price?.
“Traps are sold by the vendor for 15 badges and 525 karma; they will stack to 250 and are account-bound”.
This by far isn’t creative design ‘by a long shot’.
This new features states this-
‘Sorry that you’re not a stealth class but if you want to fight and win a stealth class, you must pay a price; 15 badges and 525 karma.. and if you choose not too, you will continue to be Demolished by the invisible one..’
As I stated, I’m not impressed and obviously yet again,
In addition this new "anti-Stealth trap purpose is to Punish and Cripple our mobilities in wvw. In other word, it only leaves us more Vulnerable
Totally,
Poor Design and mechanics.
oh yeah I forgot this one “Traps cost 10 supply to place”.
Can you imagine the Chaos in wvw… instead of focusing on what needs to be done, we are given a Painful burden and duty to "equip this anti-stealth utility’
This not only adds more work for the Commanders but stresses and distracts their purpose in wvw.
I leave room for comments
(edited by Burnfall.9573)
In all of these videos, it’s quite Obvious how the thief is able to Regain Full Health while in Stealth. Very poor design and Mechanics
It shouldn’t take all Time to defeat any classes; to begin with; 1—15+ min is Ludicrous and it shows you how ‘hard bearing’ it is for us rangers in dealing with them.
Those rangers was lucky fighting the thief, for that long period of time, could’ve got ambushed so easily.
So…
Only 1 class who’s able to regain full health while being “Invisible”, set the stage of the fight and to Reset it, is none other than the Golden Child class; the thief.
What a shame
To answer your question OP “how do you kill a stealth thief???”
It’s simple, all you need is Time, Spamming and Luck
By the way, those rangers in the videos did a Good Job.
(edited by Burnfall.9573)
Op I’ve been requiring for Ranger’s to have stealth; more like Camouflage for a while.
Great Idea’s about sharing stealth with our pets.
To Solrik; “How I see is that Anet wanted to make ranger like thieves. They took all the stealths away and gave the rangers a lot of vigor traits so that we can evade instead…”
You talk about evading, even that mechanic doesn’t work against a thief.
Why not instead give us Camouflage? We already have the Trait"
9 Wilderness “Hide in Plain Sight”
Would that make us look like thieves?
Certainly not.
Obviously
Camouflage and Stealth Difference:
“Camouflage is an effect that, similar to stealth, makes your character invisible. The effect functions the same as stealth, but is removed by movement. Also, as this is another type of effect than stealth, it does not trigger any traits or skills related to stealth”.
(edited by Burnfall.9573)
I like Targetting just the way it is and I find it well designed.
We don’t want to have Big Target’s targeting like FF14 in guild wars 2.
(edited by Burnfall.9573)
“Expansions are definitely something that we’ll potentially look at in the future, but we don’t have a timetable on it. We’re open to it, but I think our major focus as a studio is making the living world concept as strong as possibly can for the players that we’ve got.”
ANet working on an expansion?! Most certainly not atm.
As I said many times and will continue to say, "Guild Wars 1 Team Design and Devs were the best at everything with the game and it’s player base, including it’s community.’
None of these Theatrics were included-
Favoritism of classes
Stealth – yet Gw1 Assassin class outperforms thief class in every category, till this day.
Imbalancing of classes and the game to the extreme
*Bots, Hacks etc,, “that couldn’t been handled” for long period of times
Long lasting bugs since release.
Manipulating and Deceiving their Advertisement of the game Pre-release and final release.
*Nerfing farming to the Extreme/Oblivion
Punishing players who dislike a class in the forums
Punishing players for mentioning the word “Nerf” in the forums
Nerfing loot drops
Elitism of classes
Using Intimidation tactics against the players for not siding with their ways.
The combat and class mechanism worked coordinately at their best in helping the players who played them.
Guild Wars 1 was true to it’s name in addition, they have a lot of interesting continually contents that evolves in the game and with the player.
What I also like about Guild Wars 1 is that, the Designers and Devs made your class feel Special, Important and Needed in every way.
Not to Pit the Strong class against the Weak class
The Devs in the community were vigilant, communicated, listened in resulting in making adjustments and fixes to the issues that were raised.
I don’t blame you OP for feeling this way..
As the saying goes, “Good Graphics are worthless without a Good Mechanism”
It’s like putting a 2013 Hyundai Veloster Turbo car body inside a 1951 Crosley Hotshot engine and saying that’s it’s a new car and has Good Mechanism.
Oh Really
Guild Wars 1 weren’t about “the looks”, it was about Everything – both interiors and exteriors were Good*.
In fact the “Good Graphics” update was implemented long after the game release.
So…
Therefore that analogy wouldn’t ‘fit them not in 1 million years’.
I would bet in 1 million years Guild Wars 2 will Never come close too or even will Ever touch the surface to the Works and Beauty of Guild Wars 1.

As The Golden Chile Class, Any video showing their Grandiosity Stealth in action, is Wonderful. They will continue To Get Away with Everything; and that’s Perfectly Perfect in the eyes of their Beloved designers and devs.
Yet the thiefs point finger at Warrior and say Warrior is The Golden Chile
Than..
Post a video where a War “Golden Child” fighting 15 people in a zerg and able to Escape at ease.
Post a video where a War “Golden Child” walking in a 1-15 people in a zerg un-touched/unseen for a long period of time?
So maybe than,
many will Believe you that they are.
Obviously,
You will Never find one such video.
Only one who you will find and can do all of these at ease is The 1 And Only Golden Child Class- The Thief.
I encourage anyone to disagree with me.
This will help to see things clearer.
(edited by Burnfall.9573)
The Engineer Class was designed to be one of the most responsible, supportive , team players class in the game.
They are equipped with turrets, kits, gadgets to support themselves and their team. Even their traits revolve around their supports.
I was always Excited when an Engineer is fighting alongside the group. They always risk their lives by running to the rescue to save the situations while others run away.
As The Scapegoat Child Class….
They rarely get invited to any dungeon group parties.
They always get Blamed when things don’t go well even when they didn’t do anything wrong. Many times they are the first to apologies just to keep the peace.
One thing that hurt me is when other would insult them and humiliate them for not being ‘on top of the game’, even though they are doing their best in helping saving lives.
They are the only class who get hit the hardest with nerfs, which not only impacted and effected their own support but their abilities in helping saving lives. In other word, they were Punished for being Supportive.
As the Scapegoat Child, they are looked upon as the ‘lowest of the piles’ and ‘never good enough’ class.
They Feel they are Inadequate, unlovable, Worthless, Undeserved, "singled out’ and never will ‘fit in’ .
They Blame themselves for not being a ‘Special’ class.
They carry the Burden of Shame, Anger and Rejection in their every day life in guild wars 2.
At the end they are Forced to Learn no-matter what; they can never win, the love, Care, Attention and Support by the devs.

In the last patch; Mug was “patched”-nerfed perse’ and do you know what, they were Rewarded for it in return; “Now heals the thief from a range of 1980 health to 2700 health” In other word,’ they were Rewarded for their bad behaviors’.
Just last week, a player posted a new video of Perma-Stealth in action and when I saw that, it all made sense; we’ve been Fooled; it was all Deceptions
Seriously ask yourself this question. has there been 1 patch which impacted this class in a non-Rewarding way?
Of course not!!
That class is still able to “ride the waves” as before and continue to be Rewarded for their Imbalance Advantage Supremacy in this game.
*Thief class is the Best, and most Wonderful Adored class in the eyes of gw2 team designers and the devs".
As the *Gold Child class, they can Never do any wrong or harm*. They are Rewarded for Everything; they do, They are given the Best of Everything, They are Perfect, They get Away With Everything they do.,They Believe the Sky is the limit,They Believe they are Superior to others. They Feel they are more Entitled to Everything. They Always get First Attention, They Aalways get Full Support. They’re Always Right

To Vayne, I encourage you to reread my post
“There was plenty of complaining on Guild Wars 1 forums about favoritism of certain professions. Maybe you missed it”.
Obviously, with the introduction of ‘dual class system complaints of ’favoritism’. And ‘if you had missed it’- their interaction to the community helped them resolved it.
If gw2 were to introduce ‘dual-class’ system, wouldn’t people also complain of favoritism? Obviously yes. Imagine having a dual theif/ and a war/, a lot of people would certainly ‘raise hell’
And to your last comment of ‘And much of what Guild Wars 1 great, was also what made Guild Wars 1 unsustainable’.
What are you talking about?
Any former gw1 players will disclaim this.
By the way, I have a feeling you’re an Elitist, ‘Favorite’ class.
It’s obvious I didn’t ‘miss it’
‘In no means of disrespect’
(edited by Burnfall.9573)
Absolutely Not
Interesting title OP and to be honest, the word “Discrimination” is a very sensitive word. It is obvious all you have written in your post has inflicted your sensitive emotions; you are entitled to feel this way.
All I can tell you, gw2 has barely anything to do with gw1; everything you mentioned is correct concerning the comparison between the community, designers, staff, developers etc..
“Everything that made GW1 great – is being removed”.
Gw2 has and will continue to separate itself from gw1 in every manner; what had worked well in gw1 is no longer in existence in gw2. The ideas, the passion and the mechanics are no longer viable in gw2, it’s quite obvious.
To be honest, I see gw2 as a New mmo in no relation to its ancestral roots.
Gw1 had never implemented ‘stealth’ mechanics, gw1 never practiced favoritism of certain classes, gw1 had never implemented a system of “Elitism”, the list goes on……….
And those made gw1 great and a fair player in the mmo world.
My encouragement to you OP is to see gw2 as a new mmo from ground-up and unfortunately accept it this way if you can.
As the saying goes, “There is no going back”

Which class/Profession have the least available/viable builds?
(edited by Burnfall.9573)
Balance issues threatening the game
The Balance threat has already impacted Severe Damage to the game and will continually do so.
The question to ask is, How many will remain standing to this Balance Threat?
When there is, Injustice and Favoritism involve, the price to pay/ consequence will be severe; it is the way.
(edited by Burnfall.9573)
Interesting Post OP.
I agree 100% that Rangers are the lowest damage dealers class in this mmo.
And for those who think otherwise, I encourage you to post a video comparing our damage outpu with any class; both range and melee’.
I’ll give you a hint;
Melee’- any other class can top our “dps” with no sweat.
Range’- obviously that too, a thief and a war can confirm this at ease.
The answer to your question Op to “why are rangers the lowest damage?”
It’s simple; we were designed to be that way.
Remember, our range weapons and melee weapons were nerfed almost to oblivion. That was “the nail in the coffin” for our damage.
What I find insulting is that GW1 Ranger was much better damage dealing thin this one, in fact flawless and near perfection to what a Ranger class should be
In addition, even their pet system was at its best; there was a strong bond between you and your pet.
There was never this feeling of being ‘lesser class or under-class’ because the designers made you feel ‘right at home’ as a ranger. The Ranger pets were ‘independent’ from the ranger yet remained in Harmony as a Guardian in every way to it’s master.
You would never find none of this ’’*Balanced*" theatrics in their class and pet design.
If they were ever to dual-match; Gw1 Ranger would be the Victor at ease; their pets would even give the final blow
What I find baffling, when asked why gw2 pets can’t have their own ‘Independent’ skill and attributes?, their answer was, ‘because the ranger pets would put them in the same category as a warrrior’ In other word, your pet would be like a warrior’ and that would make them OP.
Oh Really?
I encourage them to tell this to the Guild Wars 1 team designers; I’m sure they would find that baffling as well..

Guild Wars 1 Assassin versus Guild Wars 2 Thief, who would win in a dual match?
Guild Wars 1 Assassin
http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Assassin
Guild Wars 2 Thief
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Thief
My intent is to see which of these 2 class mechanics; ‘Shadows vs ’Stealth’
would be the Victor in a dual match.
2nd question is, which class mechanics would you prefer to have in Guild Wars 2 and why?
(edited by Burnfall.9573)
Talking about Chronomancer being srapped, check this out., you’ll be Amazed
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/User:Amantis/Chronomancer
Many would’ve preferred that class than the Stealth thief which is tremendously breaking class balance in this game.
Obviously,
Amantis/Chronomancer “shadow” class would’ve been a Threat to the Thief “stealth” class if they were to implement it to gw2.
(edited by Burnfall.9573)
Interesting article OP.
Not too long ago there was an outcry of making Legiondary Weapons soul bound account because of the outrageous price in the auction house and guess what?
Arenanet refused to address it.
Now let me ask you another question to ‘why Farming is MANDATORY, so why keep nerfing it?’
Why do gold selling/buying exist in guild wars 2?
Don’t you think by now it’s obvious it’s a money making shared business?
There’s your answer.
Not accusing Arenanet of its involvement but the obvious speaks for itself.
There’s a saying that goes, you can not say that you’re for Righteousness while you are Punishing those who stand for it’
(edited by Burnfall.9573)
As a ranger class; of course not
I can tell you this, our Invincible/Stealth adversary thief; who can kill dozens of normal people with no problem is.
There is no feeling of Powerful while maliciously being stabbed to death by an invisible enemy, is there?
There is no feeling of Powerful while reminding yourself that you can die at any minute, is there?
There is no feeling of Powerful while always running for your life is there?
Of course not
(edited by Burnfall.9573)
nexxe, you read my mind. I also would like the return of the older professions in Gw1.
In addition, my most 2 favorite classes I would like a comeback are the ranger; obviously and the Ritualist- would fit perfectly right in with the ranger and necromancer in gw2’.
They were Beautifully well designed.
(edited by Burnfall.9573)
It would be unheard of, especially from a Ranger class.
Very impressive OP.
I like you the way you broke things down very formally.
If I were to ask you how many those who had left the game overall because of thief OP stealth mechanic? you would be very surprised. Many and Many, but I Dare you not say that thief is OP because Arenanet indented them to be.
Let me ask you another question, how many posts and thread which had raised concerns about thief Stealth, that were later Eraced and Closed? Far too many.
I would Dare hope Arenanet take this matter serious and resolve it very soon.
Obviously, Stealth does reduce depth and skill, why so?
It only takes 1-2 utilities to master thief.
It only takes 1-2 key buttons to take advantage of stealth.
It only takes 1-2-3 hits to kill and finish off. your enemies. .
It only takes 1-2-3 to walk by a full zerge; unseen.
It only takes 1 to vanish without a scrape.
It only takes 1-2 for any new thief players to master stealth.
It only takes 1-2 combo finishers to wipe a full party.
It only takes 1-2-3 to 0-100+ dps.
As the saying goes, “Very cheap play”.
It’s a Shame
(edited by Burnfall.9573)
Interesting OP, I was going to start a thread about the Horrendous lags since the patch; i’m glad someone already did.
I’m glad i’m not the only one with this dramatic problem. I realized when there’s a zerg, that’s when the Horendous Laggs begin.
Obviously I figured it out, The servers can not handle too many characters on one screen at a given time. In other words; there is limit of how many characters that’s is programed to be on the screen at a given time and at once. Therefore when the limitation is surpassed, the server and screen Laggs.
I can imagine the servers temperatures being very hot; and needs excessive cooling so they won’t overheat.
It is time to open new servers to balance the servers populations.
(edited by Burnfall.9573)
Time says it all.
Obviously it’s a nerf.
Overall, I’m glad that Arenanet made a positive big leap for the ranger class, especially for our pets. The patch wasn’t the Best we needed but a lot Better
Obviously there are more needed changes especially for the Longbow, but I’m certain that will be included in the next patch; because we desperately in need of it.
Lastly I encourage Arenanet to take a 2nd look at “Search & Rescue”; it one of the utilites that make us stand out from the other classes. Most importantly that utility is meant for Team-Player purpose only, not for selfish gain.
Still…
Good Job Arenanet for this new Journey, especially for the Ranger class…
I encourage you Arenanet to keep it up and to not promote any attentions of giving up to this Wonderful class.
(edited by Burnfall.9573)
“just did a few 7.5k backstabs on a thief and 2 hit him but stomping is almost impossible now. " and why would you want an additional have high defense on top of that?
Wouldn’t that make you OP?
Obviously yes.
No other class can land “few 7.5k+ stomping” other than the thief.
As the saying goes, ‘you can’t have both worlds’
I’m glad Arenanet is taking class un-balances very seriously.
Well Done! Arenanet
(edited by Burnfall.9573)
As a ranger class, I’m all for fighting an invulnerable thief rather than a stealthed thief.
What a Great Topic and Idea to your experimental illustration OP
(edited by Burnfall.9573)
This issue been brought up in the forums since Wvw release and nothing been done about it. Thief Scorpion Wire has exceeded it’s range of 1,200 in wvw, even in sPvp yet this has been intentionally ignored and "swept under the rug’.
I’m sure the majority of the community including myself has countless of testimonies
of being severely pulled from high grounds by thief’s Scorpion Wire.
Many wonder and question themselves, ‘how is this possible? I was up soo high, how can it reach me? Does this utility have unlimited range? This is unbelievable?’
Being pulled from the 3rd floor tower, if not higher is in need of Arenent attention.
There’s no Pleasure in being Mercisley and Sadistically pulled at such great height and distance by a thief.
Too many outrageous unbalanced deaths by this utility.
I encourage Arenanet to seriously resolve this issue as soon as possible. This utility has been severely abused; i’m sure it is bugged or broken. Obviously the abusers wouldn’t report it if it so and I’m sure it would against Arenanet Rules, Policy and Regulation..
I’m requesting’ Scorpion Wire’ range to be fixed and reduced; no utility/ies should grant perma- unlimited range.
