I can’t seem to be able to do a bios update. Why can’t it be easy. I followed the procedure about the USB Bios Flashback thing that the Asus mobo has and it won’t even react when I push the kitten flashback button.

Try to restore your BIOS settings to Factory default,reboot and try it again.Also make sure you select the proper file on your flashdrive.

Here’s my report to cover the overall problem :

There’s an old and new GPU. The new GPU is the one that doesn’t work in my PCIEx16_1 one and only in the PCIEx16_2 one. The old works in both. I just tried my new GPU on my friends mother board in a blue slot (he has two blue slots and no black one. I’m guessing both are PCIEx16 slots) and it works just fine.

So if the old GPU is working on my mobo and my new GPU is working in my friends mobo, can we conclude that none of my hardware is currently defective and that there is either a setting missing in my BIOS to enable I don’t know what or that the Asus P8Z77-v LE mobo is incompatible with the Radeon HD7970 GPU?

I figured something like this,honestly. Also,did you read my last post about the BIOS update ? That can fix your issue if youre still on an old Bios version.Ive had the same kind of problem like a year or 2 ago with my cross hair v formula,had issues with my cpu,and my sli setup my 2nd card constantly popping to 4x speed eventhough in 16x slot.I installed a bios update,and everything was fixed>
If you do,i Highly recommend to put the bios file on a flash drive,usb stick,reboot your pc go into bios and update it from there.Never ever ever ever do it through windows.

That is indeed a good tip, but believe me I tried everything to avoid spamblock and you won’t work your way around, no matter how. Of course I can reduce communication to an absolute minimum, but then again, this makes my role obsolete, we are back at the stupid, brainless farmtrain, who behaves like a flock of hysteric chicken in battle and not like a raid.
The biggest problem is the blacklist feature of spamblock. If you got spamblocked once, you will much more easily be spamblocked in the following hour or so.

hammer wars get a condi-clear every 7 seconds, which comes with a nice AoE stun and it also deals 4k damage.
after that the passive 545 healing every single second (thats 32,700 healing every minute without even doing anything) will top off whatever damage you managed to tickle away.

meanwhile they’re critting you with the damage of a glass cannon,
and if you’re lucky you’ll have stability, otherwise you’ll be stunlocked too.

Double warrior is still the meta. Fact. That means warriors are overpowered, by ANet’s own definition. No high level competitive team enjoys double warrior. Fact.
If you think all that healing, CC, AoE burn, condition clear and stability can be countered, then that says everything I need to know about your skill level and perception of ‘balance’. It’s that mentality, combined with the Balance Teams ‘balancing’ that has ruined tPvP in this game, in my opinion.

Killing a solo roamer or small group when you’re in a large group?
Of course you have to do it. So what if they don’t stand a chance? If you don’t kill them maybe they’ll take a tower 3 minutes later. Maybe they’re bringing supply to another group. Maybe they’re scouting. Every single enemy you kill is a tactical advantage.

If you want to play fair, just go play chess or something.

I mean it’s not hard. Personally I don’t go around hunting for duels. And I don’t see how you can troll someone by just inviting them for a duel when they can pay no attention to it and focus on whatever they’re doing.

Some people find it annoying to have flashy things pop up on the screen that don’t interest them, especially if it’s “player xxx wants a fight with you”, something which they were against being included in the game in the first place. Especially enabling CTCP can be Really helpful in gaming.

Go to control panel > System > System Properties > advanced > And Uncheck the box that says “Automatically Restart” located under System failure.

Next time when your pc wants to just shut down like that,you will be greeted with a BSOD screen wich will help you to identify your problem further.

How long since you formatted ? did you always had this problem in other games aswell,did it just happen out of the blue ? Was the card Always seated in the wrong slot ? Is your Bios updated to the Latest version aswell ?

Last chance before you RMA,you could try a complete reformat of windows,make sure you install the latest mobo drivers aswell when youre done formatting.And install them in the right order.And make sure the gpu is seated in the right slot before you format.
Mobo drivers,Lan/internet,Gpu drivers,sound – All windows updates.

PVP ; Remove amulets/jewels from Pvp,Add rings,accesoires ( same as pve ) instead to allow a greater variety in builds as most classes as of now are locked in 2 or 3 choises and have no way to mix-match stats up as they would like.

PVP; Add Mining Ores in Legacy of Foefire that can be gathered and brought to the Lord to fix the gates when breached. ( Think Gw1, Kurzick – Luxons )

PVP ; Trebs need to be doing less damage and have less of an impact in pvp battles,same goes for skyhammer cannon.

Agree,i know anet disabled townclothings because ppl couldnt resist the urge to leap around the map endlessly…But on the other hand,dozens of other people not abusing this are now unable to enjoy messing around in townclothes.Quick reminder,we payed money for this anet,some payed real money to buy townclothes now being unable to wear them but in pve.Its like buying a ferrari…then suddenly ferrari knocks on your door and says youre unable to drive this car in your own town,but you can drive in some remote area you never go to anyways.

If you fight a bad/noob thief, you’ll know because they will maybe get an opening Backstab in, but usually they will miss all of their major skills. At the very start when I first built my PC. I sat it in the right slot and I had a black screen. The PC was fresh new, with no drivers. There must be more to it but I’ll give it a try.

If you always used the first slot,then your pc wont give screen now if you reseat your gpu in the blue slot (like its supposed to go in ).You need to,like other people said..remove your current gpu drivers drivers first before reseating it to another slot,so when you boot in windows with your gpu in the right slot and no gpu drivers present..Windows Must dectect your gpu and install the standard vga drivers,after wich you should be able to just reinstall your current gpu drivers.

@ Avelos,it Can really be the prob,ive had the same with my cards running in 4x mode giving Sup-par performance in gw2,switching to 16x made my game smooth again,but that was an sli issue,completely diff from the op’s current issue.

Alright so. I tried switching my GPU to the slot closest to the CPU but nothing displays. Nothing happens with my screen, it stays black. And I correctly connected the DVI and card of course.

Here’s a picture of my Motherboard. The green square is where I plug my GPU in so that it displays anything at all.

That can happen because you installed your gpu drivers while the gpu was in the other slot ( ive had the same ).Uninstalling your drivers,and then seating to a diff slot will fix this probably.\

There is already a system in the game which allows you to duel and duel with your own friends if you desire.

Why make a redundant system?

“Proper” duels that can be started Anywhere in Pve or Wvw without the need to go to the mists where you have completely diff stats then in pve.

SLI Is officially supported,Nvidia has SLi profiles for this game,you can check that using NvidiaInspector.A game with a SLI profile,means the game supports SLI,no matter how you put it.The increase in fps in this game with sli isn’t a huge increase since the game is heavy on the cpu.For people saying SLI is a “Gimmick”…Get a clue please,there is no hassle with SLI at all ( Its not 2005 anymore ),i dont ever have any problems with my sli setup whatsoever.,in most games with “proper” sli support and where games arnt completely taxing out your cpu you can def see a double in fps increase.Just because you"hear" of people with problems,doesn’t mean its the fault of sli itself,usually the fault sits infront of the pc.

Anyway OP,I dont know how technical you are,but you might want to see if both cards are enabled in your bios and are set to PEG/PCI.Make sure their both seated correctly ( Just pull out your gpu’s and slide them in again carefully till you hear a click noise, Dont force it ),make sure the SLI BRIDGE is connected ! ( a thing people tend to forget or oversee ).ALso make sure SLI is enabled in the Nvidia Control Panel by setting it to Maximize 3D Performance,and you put Physx to GPU 2.

Btw,do other games work properly using your SLI setup ?

1) They can’t redirect it to your bag, I get so much loot I would get encumbered in battle and die because I am super slow.
2) What are you talking about, I get tons and tons of bags after a good fight.
3) The autoloot works fine, I sometimes press it when fighting and when we have to retreat and I look back and pretty much never see bags left behind.
4) And again, last night I had to salvage my inventory 2 times during the same fight because it was full. Got 78 kills there. And I have a maxed out 160/160 inventory with about 40-45 free spots in it.

Lootbag drop rate is fine imo and the autoloot option is great, it even picks up bags that are floating in the air.

They called Merchants,you should have to look them up once in a while….

Dungeons havent become simple,people have been playing them for over a year and know them inside out.Why should they bother with any other build than berserk ? They know what to expect,they know what to do,they know how the kill the bosses and complete the paths without being wiped.Why pick any other stat if you Know how to complete the dungeons without wiping ? If you can shave off 10m of your run,why hold back.

It takes 10 seconds of my time, not the actual 45 minutes or whatever the LA event is on.
A good thing to do? Certainly not. But you benefit from doing it.
It’s quite easy to fix, too, sadly. Just set an afk timer to 1 minute and kick whoever is doing nothing/running in a wall… While technically somebody could set up a run script (run in circles for example), not many people have the ability to do it, and the number of AFK’ers would be greatly cut down. I could even elaborate on the idea, countering the argument “but what if somebody has to go AFK for just 3-5 minutes because of door/phone etc…”. Could be solved with an “AFK bar” which fills up slowly when you play normally and drops heavily if you AFK. Zero and AFK, gets kicked. You get the idea.

If all,i think whirl should get the same kinda effect as a thief using it,Reflect projectiles.

Its kinda obvious that shield has a block,being a defensive weapon and all.Mace offhand does not have a block btw,youre mistaking it with mace mainhand,the offhand has vulnerability and a knockdown wave.Axes should not have any defensive capabilities since their offensive weapons and should stay that way.
