I use mace offhand all the time. 4 vuln and an interrupt on 1200range is pretty useful. I use mace 5 whenever it’s off CD if we’re fighting a group of non-champs and on champs i use it to start the fight.

For only personal DPS, what is optimal? Spamming 1? Is 5 at point blank useful?

axe/mace, it’s optimal to use the #2 and #4 when both are off CD, and at the end of your axe chain attack. #5 use at your discretion, but again, use those skills only at the end or beginning of your axe chain attack. Interrupting your chain attack in the middle is a substantial loss of dps.

i would also suggest learning the individual animations of chop, double chop and triple chop as you can dodge in between them and it won’t interrupt your progress through the attack chain. It’s a really useful thing to learn as you’ll take less of a dps hit when you dodge.

I found skill 5 on mace to be terribly buggy,you have to be Exactly infront of your opponent for the skill to go off.Otherwise it just goes on cd without it ever being fired at all..This happens way to often and people do not stand still..So you have to time your tremor Really well for it not to fail,pay attenton to that.Also tremor can get randomly obstructed at the worst possible times,wich also happens alot.And these two things are the reasons i am not using mace offhand.When youre playing fast paced you will fail tremor alot since you will be moving around constantly and the slightest turn either from you or your foe makes tremor fail.Tbh i think they should fix tremor up a bit so it can follow its path in a bit wider angle instead of the current Straight forward path only.

The issue with failing to get tremor off is down to your targetting. If you untarget things when you’re moving around and want to use that ability you’ll have a way higher success rate.

True,but that means i have to constantly deselect/select my target,and the targeting system is kinda whack in gw2 so if youre fighting against several people,or even a mesmer or mm nec you will have to deselect him for tremor and then cycle through their minions or clones again to get your target,wich can be quite costly if you happen to select the wrong target again after that.

Such mechanics already exist, there’s some boss that puts an electric burst that damages nearby allies. No need for ALL the bosses to be extremely hard, but defeating AC p3’s final boss in 6 seconds is ridiculous.

Yeah but thats pve though.I was speaking about the pvp aspect of wvw since the stacking and zerging is all they tend to do.And currently there doesnt exist anything like this that will demote the zerging and stacking aspect.

This happend like 5 – 6 months back i think but i still remember it.Was in pvp,just hotjoining when i realized we had 4 mesmer on the opposing team…At that time i was rolling an axe/shield – hamm build.So i’d thought lets grab reflective projectiles on shield…About half way through the match i finally found a 1on1 with this mesmer.I played around for a bit and eventually i popped my shield..so clones of me started flying around..The mesmer in return starting Raging….WTF HACKERRRR!!!!,This warrior is making clones of himself using mesmer skills !!!!!

Obviously..i completely lost it, almost broke down in tears from laughing,it was honestly one of the funniest things ever.

That’s the best part of it all,they think theyre the best of the team,yet usually its these ones that completely suck at everything they try.They try to make themselves feel better by smacktalking others,theyre trying to delude themselves into believing it’s not their own fault for messing up the game,so hence…lets blame it on someone else instead.
Just..ignore it,it actually made me laugh most of the time since i realized that 9 out of 10 times its them that are completely incompetent.

Here’s my 2c:

I’d assume the main time you’d face off against a turret decap engineer is if they push into your home point and you’re stuck defending against it. Your best bet in this situation is to engage the engineer as far away from the node as possible and to deal damage to them as you chase them to the point. Their strength comes from having their turrets down in a confined area, and they’re not going to waste them by dropping them in roads somewhere. Just make sure you don’t get CC’d in roads and then decapped for free.

If you’re solo pushing far and trying to get a node from a decap engineer who is playing backpoint…well, you’re both doing it wrong.

A smart engi will not leave his turrets alone,it’s his build so he will stick as close to the turrets as possible and not abandon them,so thats not a viable thing to be doing.Every class should be able to counter every build right ? Honestly speaking,have you ever 1vs1 as a double melee warr vs a “Pro” turret engi ? I can arrange an engi to 1on1 you if you’d like and he will spank your kitten so hard you won’t know what happend,and thats all due to his turrets that are shielded and are self healing.

He even acknowledge it himself that the build is completely out of control when played right and again..as a Non range double melee warr you will have to either drag him away from point ( Wich he wont do ) or youre stuck trying to deal with him on point,meaning you have to choose between trying to get him down as fast as possible ( wich will not happen ) or trying to kill his turrets off as fast as possible,and by the time his turrets are down my hp is nearly drained aswell.The amount of condis their able to spamm while being targeted by turrets and almost being in a constant state of immobi,slow,cripple is something that would make you think that only a range class will be able to deal with them properly.

This game is missing intense music that will make you feel pumped,its all so soft and fluffy and although it does sound good it just doesnt pump you up.
Just for example,imagine the below song while doing any of your favorite bosses,dragons w/e.

Finish the song fully,its Nobuo uematsu,so it wont dissapoint..Its just an example of fitting pumping music in a game.

They won’t Die in two hits,thats the main problem,they got too much hp.Ontop of that they can be shielded and self healed.Its to much,it s winning because of AI,not by skill.They can literally stand there letting the turrets do the work and occasoinally hit one skill on their bar.

Hmm I just tested to soloQ with standard hambow war and ran into an engi with turrets.
I did bow F1 > 3 > hammer F1 to hammer chain all aim on the engi even I didn’t kill him in 1 chain but I don’t see any turret alive.

And the engi ran away … I don’t see any problem with turrets. May be I will try for more games hope to see good turret engi. :P

It depends on the entire build they use.I used to practice 1on1 with some friends daily base,theres an engi with a turret build that you will not kill.It all depends on the player and the build.Agree,some turret users will go down like that and their turrets dont do much dmg,other engis that build entirely around their turrets,again..With shields up and Self healing on them,is an entire different story.

In an ideal world where warriors and Guardians are strictly melee. The class speed is correct. Having ranged classes with higher mobility, and ability to CC from range would make it impossible for melee characters to close the gap and land any damage. They would just be kited for days and just drop dead.

What you people are proposing is stupid. Do I think that warrior mobility may be a little over the top sure. But look at the weapons that have mobility guess what they are all melee weapons. That need to have mobility because they are only 130 range.

This is not DD ele with 600 range that think they are melee. 600 range is close range but it aint melee.

People who make ridiculous threads like this and keep repeating this same argument has never tried playing 100% melee and tried to land damage on a kiter.

WvW used to be all i ever did.I would sit a day in EB if i had a day off and nothing else to do,i’d command for 15 – 19h straight.I cared about our PPT,i cared about winning,i cared about my server and its people..now i cant seem to give a kitten about anything at all.I’d always roam with a few friends at evenings after our guild events.Now i havnt been in EB for around a month or longer…

If i login at all,and see a 90+ Queue to Eb…I’m honestly not in the mood to do absolutely nothing for an hour or longer untill y queue finally pops,The queues,the constant zerging without end because people cant seem to do anything else,and the same old same old feeling whenever you get in wvw is getting old.I Very ocasionally ( once a week or so..thats becoming less even ) just login to roam with my guild [Kale]…All in all im getting terribly bored of it all. Also no news of anything ever gonna change in WvW or new maps being added is also a bit of a downer.And just.. SS-DD if you know what i mean.

if any software is causing your hardware to overheat, its not the software’s fault.

its your Hardware’s cooling method/device that’s the problem.

If you have a GPU that is overclocked (factory or otherwise) you are already running the card out of spec (Reference). Some OC manufactures will kitten out on cooling to shave on costs. And that inherently is a problem that will cause overheating when benchmarking too.

Sorry to say, but Hardware is a hardware issue. Even if the temps seem to only spike when XYZ software is being run.

It can be due to the software.Nvidia even put a protection against programs like these to undervolt or throttle the card when its being stressed out so hard,thats being done for a reason.There are actual reports from people where their gpu died from overheating during furmark,wich is a software program.

Again, Cooling issue. Not a GPU hardware problem. If the cards that are OC’d had better cooling solutions, these issues wouldn’t be so prevalent. And I am seeing more and more top-Mid to Top range cards being offered as OC models instead of reference.

The mere fact that Nvidia put a voltage protection in the BIOS of the cards, just goes to show how bad the cooling on some of these cards actually is. You can’t dispute that with software being the cause. It just doesn’t work.

I never even mentioned something being a GPU problem.That wasnt even what you said first…what you said was “Hardware cant overheat due to software” wich is completely false in every way,dont turn it into something else now.Btw,that protection im talking about is only activated with programs like FURMARK.Honestly,you’re just wrong.Software can be the cause of systems overheating,if you have bad cooling or not,The program youre running is what makes your Temps rise.Your temps wont rise this high if youre not running any software program..

If you want to understand that mindset of doing the opposite when being told something,go learn psychology.There’s nothing much to it besides it being human nature to go against “authority”.You should know this,as a human.Therefore before a match starts say in general,Lets keep it at home/mid..And see what happens instead of picking on one guy who goes far but doesnt like being told to do otherwise.Try to speak to the team instead of this one person..lay the rules and the plan out before the match,not during or after someone has done something wrong.

Maybe look at gw2’s front page where they explain diff classes…And they say the following about warrior…

Tbh i think its your PSU that’s the issue,its a pretty cheap one tbh,not meant bad.But ive figured that out the hard way myself some years back,never get a cheap psu,Ever.Eventhough other games might not get the same issues as you have in gw2 for e.g,but gw2 just stresses out your pc in a diff way.And sound is usually one of the things getting affected first with a “bad” psu.

I did a quick google,and i saw yours is around 40 bucks now,thats really as cheap as you can go for a PSU,honestly..Try to switch out your psu for another if you can borrow one from someone just to test it out.

also,how long have you been using this same PSU ? And how did your 8800 came to its end ? Maybe its also related to your PSU,in wich case you want switch your PSU out ASAP before smthing else happens to your system.

Report for botting is all you can do as of now…also dont report them once,Spam report those kittens because imo they have no place in tq or sq at all,let’s keep these lamers in hotjoin or let em go back to pve instead.
But yeah they should add smthing different to deal with the afkers,some way or the other…They need to get a dishonerable buff from it,and be disallowed to continue to pvp onwards for several hours or even a day.

and it should’ve been like this from the start. pvp needs a similar thing like the buffs pve bosses get when they have been CCed.

add an anti-cc buff each time you’ve been CCed for 3-5 seconds. wait 3-5 seconds before you can CC again or waste 1 CC to get rid of the buff.

not every class has access to stability and many classes who have it dont get a long duration anyway.

another problem is when you get the CC of more than 1 class.
2 Hammer warriors? good luck to dodge all the attacks! 2 s/p thiefs? eat those pw tele combos! 2 nightmare necros? dont even bother using stun breaks or condi cleanse as it wont matter anyway…

2 hamm warrs…you can dodge most of their attacks wich will be on a 20 – 30 sec cd afterwards..all if not most classes have acces to stability,invulnerabiility’s and blocks aswell.Youre asking for smthing that would completely destroy a hamm warr.

This has bugging me since forever…the asuran size is just too small.You cannot evade what you cannot see coming,compared to a norn from the same class or even a human or sylvari…you can See what they do,you cannot for the life of you see what an asuran is gonna do ,animation wise.Especially when other effects are going on its nigh impossible.giving them an incredibly unfair advantage over other players in whatever scenario you may come up with and whatever build or class they roll they will always have an advantage over you,playing any of the other races.Its completely and utterly unfair,and i extremly dislike people picking asurans just because of this fact,youre a cheapo if you do so.I really really hope they will finally start adressing this issue,one way or the other..

I actually have to agree with the OP,armor skins are kinda lacking.Shoulders are Way to big for heavy armor atleast…they just are,and it just looks ridiculous.I’m even hiding my shoulders mostly just because of that.Also not a big fan of the new skins introduced lately,it seems unfitting for this game,same can be said about some other Bltc introduced gear..I think they could do a better job at it tbh.The last “Ok” armor was phalanx, Without the ridiculous huge pauldrons that is..But yeah..i can name some games that have way better looking armors than gw2 has,also from ncsoft.

Also,stop being a kitten just because the OP isn’t english…seriously,its kitten childish.

the broken part is how bunkerish they are and still deal alot dmg

this has to be fixed – remove the trait with higher dmg vs stunned targets and hambow is fine

I agree about the fog,but the overal draw distance is ok with me tbh.Like when you compare it to Tera for eg the view distance is massive..but the mob distance is way to short,wich doesn’t happen in gw2 since you can see mobs from miles away.

Just a quick post to confirm that since I applied Pri solution reported above I never had a single crash. It is basically giving me back a perfectly running GW2 experience!

I think it is worthy of note that even though the solution basically implies some degree of underclocking to the video card, my overall framerate and visual experience wasn’t much affected. I run everything around max settings and the framerate stays around 60 fps. This leads me to think that pushing so heavily on the GPU boost doesn’t improve the performance much and at the same time it affects very badly the stability of the GPU itself.

I sincerely hope ArenaNet will look into this, since the problem is very heavy, to the point of making the game almost unplayable for many players, and some kind of fix is definitely at hand.

I think anet cannot do a thing about this,its in nvidia’s hands.And like pri said,probably related to the gpu boost function.Im running 2x 560 GTX in sli ( oldies but still doing great ) having no gpu boost on these cards and i never actually crash at all.

Never cleanse yourself just for one or two condis,meaning if theyre not stacked to 20+ or w/e.Cleansing yourself when you have 4 – 5 condis while just having popped berserk so they cant be reapplied the next 8 sec is the best thing.Always pay attention to your condis and dont randomly cleanse..you could be cleansing 2 stacks of vulnerability + Poison + 3 bleed stacks…you dont cleanse for something like that for e.g.

Asuran engis that run in circles dropping 1000000 aoes…Get out of them and youre knocked back and kited…get close and you melt in aoe’s. Engies with healing turrets and shields on them….They can simply stand there..literally and let the turrets do the work. MM necros,carried by their zoo. Bleh bleh..i can go on,basically all the cheapmodes out there you can think about,not restricted to one class.Im not even naming thieves,they mostly run the same cheap evade blind spamming build anyway.

Just like title, add moab(or moba, idk its spelling) game mode that League of Legend has plz. And allows us earning instant in-match gold that can be used in current match to buy items.

Anyways,
Current arena match takes too short times, 10~15min.
I rather like 30~60min match, which only moab type of the game can does.

In Guildwars 2, winning 2vs1 is extremely harder than other games.
So Killstreaks is almost not possible, even using cheese build.

If you allows us buy items for the match that boosts our stats a lot (by 500 or even higher) and potions and etc, killstreak of one person would become POSSIBLE even in 2~3vs1 and game would look much cooler I guess. In this case swiftness should stack its intensity up to 50% though, by allowing us run and hit.

Just log into Lol…. ? You’re asking for Gw2 to be transfered into a moba with ridiculous stat boosting items and items to buy during the round… ? a 30m – 60m match is not something i wanna be doing,matches need to be short and intense,not long and boring and becoming a drag.Youre in the wrong game !

WvW isnt horrid.

It’s fabulous. As someone who has put an enormous amount of time and effort into training my PVX (still mostly PvE) guild to WvW,

We can step into WvW at any time and have a blast, whether we’re getting double teamed and we hold NOTHING, or we’re blowing out our competition because they can’t keep up with our coverage.

If you and your guildies/friends could play like the team in the video above, you’ll never be bored with what WvW (and EoTM for those stale weeks) has to offer.

I’ll address some of your points:

Blow out matches: are only boring if you’re winning.

double teaming: There’s just an abundance of targets. Option 1: roam with a small team, pick off idiots. Option 2, use AC. step 2. Profit

Stale matchup: challenge yourself by running with smaller zergs (or groups) where you are a more important piece of the group composition, try a 5v15.

By all accounts, there’s dozens of things that you can do to spice up your matchup. Try getting 8 thieves together (and in voip) and go destroy some havok teams.

run a naked zerg – you can only wear gear you pick up.

try to get a zerg of 100% asura. that kitten looks hilarious.

be creative. stop the QQ

You play for what..4 months ? Thats nothing…Try doing wvw from the Start of gw2 up till now…Youl be as bored as anyone else having done so.WvW used to be different….its just kinda Meh now.

I would assume, for the sake of a competitive future, it is on Arenanet to-possibly think about this at some time in the future.

Eventhough i seriously hate the map…But knocking off 3 people at once with staggering blow on point A – Skyhammer.I was standing on point when 3 of the enemy came towards me but kept standing Behind the glass,since they prop waited to pull me down..they broke the glass i popped stabi and earthshaked behind them and used staggering blow quickly afterwards..End result was 3 people flying down…Atleast they could still see the fun in it.

Yeh i really dont get this tbh…Forum filled with complaints about skyhammer…but no lets remove the kitten underwatermap instead of removing the water and upping the height of the shallow part instead so you still have a proper map without any water….

Im pretty sure the chinese people living in EU or NA are able to speak and or read english perfectly fine…That would just be a pretty huge waste of time for anet tbh.Also,english is not even my main yet you dont see me asking for my own language being added..You start with chinese,then you got the french..and the spanish..and the germans…and the russians…You see where im going yet ?

to all guys saying P2P suck. first all those games like rift, swtor. eso… it is not the sub fee which brought them down, it was low quality of content and support that made people to say the game does not worth a sub. AND none of them is actually free i played them all.
there are successful sub based games like FINAL FANTASY XIV with over 2 million subscribers, why i am not there because i do not like the graphics and on top of all unholy trinity. but the game is pretty good over all for many people.
IT IS ALL ABOUT YOU. ask for better game and have will to pay for good game.

Well,then how did a p2p model change anything from Rift or swotr not being polished ? You just basically claimed yourself,that it doesnt matter if a game is p2p or b2p,its up to the devs to polish a game…..And being p2p doesnt change squat about that.

This..i used to play SS/Bow and had around 1.2k condi dmg,while having 3.8k armor using a toughness regen banner on top of it…Its one of the most boring war builds you can ever play.Its cheesemode,and it doesn’t require any form of skill to be able to use this build properly,Any “idiot” can play it so to say.Low risk build/high reward…but its way too easy to play since you got such high sustain and armor while still doing a good amount of dmg.
Im also not the range kinda guy,i like to play double melee,its more rewarding..only having 2.4k armor now..have to stay on my toes,its just more fun too play…Just getting pretty sick and tired of 95% of the others running condi meta builds.

@Op,play what is fun for you,and dont follow any meta….If the meta is black,i go white.

Man Arah story is one of the coolest dungeons I’ve ever played in any game ever. So the fight with Zhaitan himself is easy, whatever, take in the dungeon as a whole, the story, the environment, it really is pretty awesome.

Its not about the dungeon…its about the lamest Boss battle in the history of gaming Ever. A Boss battle should be interesting and difficult and memorable,yet zaithan is a huge dissapointment in each and every way.

And what were you expecting exactly? A God of War 3 type of Battle where you are running up the back of an acres sized dragon? Each one of those sequences in that game (as well as other games like Shadow of the Colossus) cost millions of dollars to develop and get working properly, and I am kind of glad that Anet didn’t blow their whole budget on a single boss battle.

I dislike god of war,you shouldnt make assumptions when you dont know me.What would i expect ? A proper boss battle like you have while fighting every other boss ingame,instead of standing behind a cannon pressing 1 button. The end boss “fight” has nothing to do with a budget at all,its just the choise they made with letting us stand there pressing 1 button.I like to be challenged,you obviously don’t and are happy with such an easy win against what should be made into something spectacular instead..And an end boss should give you a challenge,zhaitan was not challenging it was a huge dissapointment and a bore to be doing.
