RIP [SIC] Strident Iconoclast
It is very evident from the marionette: warriors shrug off the sword hit, etc while elementalists are downed by it.
Dat PvE berserker gear!
Another video. NERF experiment.
Healing bombs are troll.
Sounds like a TC issue.
It isn’t about dmg, but about killing.
High health is mitigation against high burst. Thieves would just have a much easier time bursting down a necro with lower health if nothing were done to nerf thief damage.
Just want to put it this way, it isn’t rock-paper-scissors. Anet created opposition between many more variables. The whole picture has to be looked at, not just one variable.
They’d have to move the high end of the extreme also towards the middle: 13k, 15k, 17k for example. Then they’d have to take away some of the burst/high dmg capabilities and make some of the bunker capabilities less effective, as well as lowering condi effectiveness and reducing some of the burst heal stuff.
My point is that the extremes balance each other. Reduce the extremes in one area and the other extremes also need reduction in order to maintain balance.
FWIW, my elementalist is only level 38 and I’ve mostly played with staff so I can’t give a good opinion on it, but I do feel that my high mobility mitigates some of the problems with it. Given some of the nerfs to that class though, I might agree that it does need some love.
Sorry to disagree. Your responses just come off sounding like an entitlement to have a kill rather than a serious desire for balance. There’s no better way to prove balance than duelers who cannot kill each other or where a fight takes a really long time until one player makes a mistake that costs him.
Different professions use different mechanics to create that balance.
Yea…
I use the flamethrower a lot and it is extremely awkward being able to use FT #1 without a target (I use the camera to aim) and then needing a target for FT #2.
You are overlooking the fact that warriors cannot kill you if they are running away.
So that means it is okay for them to have such high health, high mobility and everything else because if they are running away they aren’t killing you. Except in most cases they are running because they would have died. So all that health, mobility and everything SAVED them from dying…
Yes, that’s the proof of something that is well-balanced. You didn’t die and they didn’t die. You have to come up with skill usage strategies, group coordination strategies, and builds to overcome that, as do they. It’s called GAMEPLAY.

Silent Shino,
The video was on Grouch’s twitch channel, but it is archived or deleted now due to the age. Link was http://www.twitch.tv/guildwars2pvptv/b/466410872 Around the 46 min mark.

Clearly a lie. I have never died in WvW or PvP.
Tsk tsk no need for such damage control. I cracked up greatly after learning that me spiking you was live streamed.:P
Sept. 30, 2013.
Hello Chaba,
One would assume the same thing for Anet, one of the most influential MMOYeah. I do assume that.
So do I, with the direct personal experience that organization knowledge is still difficult to retain even when systems are put in place to capture it. And I didn’t mean to imply that Devon had left the company. Responsibilities of an employee within a company can change.
EG #2 is Elixir F. Do you mean EG #3 Fumigate?
You know what is wrong with Elixir F? It will not bounce back and grant swiftness if the target distance is greater than half the stated range.
And I disagree about the high condition immunity. When I play my warrior, even with the passive healing signet, negative condi duration food, shouts heal/remove condi, and warhorn, conditions can still eat me alive. Guess I like to fight instead of running away all the time.
You are overlooking the fact that warriors cannot kill you if they are running away.
Nah! This subject has nothing to do with ease of play between the classes but more of how the classes are differentiated from each other. This post asks for classes to be made more similar to each other than different. To do that, one cannot just look at base HP since there are other factors such as base armor, mobility, direct/condi damage output, cc output, etc. that would need to be rebalanced.
Please do not make the classes more similar to each other.
(edited by Chaba.5410)
Yes, OP is right. Remember that the earliest descriptions for engineer was to be masters at cc and great at conditions. And all the utility from having access to kits meant sacrificing some damage. To me, that was all fine. Yet with that said, the gear creep from ascended means that kit damage FALLS BEHIND.
Like what was said earlier: “little hard to take your opinion seriously”. Trapped? Engineer has some of the most varied builds I know amongst the professions. It is typically those new to engineer that take on the popular or cheese build.
Geesh lighten up. It’s normal for people to come and go in a company.
Yep, here too. Thought I saw the “send to anet” error screen flash…
I’ve been having this issue recently too. I am not immobed or stunned, but I cannot move, as if I’m getting glitched into the floor. It was especially prominent the other night when I kept getting hammer stunned by the same opponent in WvW. I’m going to start recording it.
Accelerant-packed turrets was moved from Master to Adept trait in order to accommodate the move of Incendiary Powder to Master. GG.
Not to mention, how buggy Magnet is. GG.
No, no, get this… Prybar lackluster due to 15 seconds cooldown and shield is OP because of the 20 seconds cooldown.
“I’ve never played an engineer”
I stopped reading after that.
After necros got their special Torment condition, I always felt like there should be a new field focused around the engineer (since the profession has access to almost all fields and a ton of blast finishers) and it would be available via Oil Slick, like a tar field or something. Blasting it would do like area cripple or something.
A NERF member spiked Grouch in WvW on his twitch stream once. /engi pride
The answer is so clear! Nerf net turret. /sarcasm
The arms are not attached to the shoulders, floating some distance behind the shoulders, and the leg animation looks like the golem is crippled, with joints floating out in strange directions. Dunno what’s going on there. Everyone saw it.
In Metrica Province around the corner from the Arterium Haven waypoint.
You would still be able to use the leaps defensively in the same way that guardians use their ports defensively. You switch targets to a target that gets you out of the kill zone.
It just requires more awareness of surroundings and targeting skills, but sometimes there are no good escape options. As it should be.
Oh it’s so simple then. Target something outside of the kill zone. Because there are always targets available. I have a better idea. Don’t require a target.
Funny thread. I like when skills are able to be used both defensively and offensively so please don’t make this kind of change. It gives me a choice in playstyle.
But I do laugh at the warriors who always run away. If you emote laugh at them, they usually come back to fight.
If you played engineer as your main since release, you would be used to this kind of thing by now.
Ele/engi’s both get the same number of procs, just have to limit themselves to two specific ones.
Its not a big deal.
Nooooo. Ele/engi use only one weapon set. Only one on-swap sigil available, not two.
(edited by Chaba.5410)
The OP’s point was that the other classes get twice the number of sigils than ele and eng since they can only use one weapon set. So a warrior can use hydromancy on one weapon set and doom on the other weapon set. Ele/eng can only use either hydromancy or doom.
“A turret needs a nerf; let that sink in.” Yea, continue to let that statement sink in. I don’t think it has sunk far enough.
Nah, there is one way to get hit by a killshot. It’s called lag. As in where you go to dodge because you see the tell but the lag is so bad that you are hit anyway.
Find a new guild.
It must be server lag. I “fell” once on the flat surface outside the lord’s room of hills right after a laggy battle and took over 700k damage (ok maybe not that much but it was well in the 100ks). Despite the fact that my corpse was outside the lord’s room, no one could rez me since I was technically at the bottom of the cliff.
I guess I’m just not seeing the “farm before you flip it” part.
I’m resurrecting my GW1 guild for one thing, and one thing only: to help players looking to learn more about WvW and become better WvW players.
The only requirement to join is a desire to improve.
I don’t consider myself elite or hardcore, but I have thousands of hours playing in WvW as a commander, as a hardcore guild member, as militia, as an uplevel, as a roamer, as a small-group skirmisher, as a gvg-er, and as a duelist. I will walk you through the basics. I will teach you about both PPT and large scale PvP. You might end up a better player than I!
Join my guild before I change my mind. Join the Project Nemesis horde!
I want to do rallies around 6:30pm – 8:30pm servertime on possibly Wednesdays and Thursdays. Representation only required during raids.

Man, L2P! This video makes you look like noobs.
Great as usual, Maskaganda.
FA already fought SoR and JQ and we’re really not interested in doing that again. That’s why we’re on FA rather than a T1 server.
Ugh, Medkit is terrible for commanding. You’ll be kitten to heal if you get immobilized and you miss out on that regen for great sustain. The role of commander requires you to be able to tank a ton of damage and you need a lot of sustain. It is the job of those you are commanding to provide all the support and dps. It doesn’t take a whole lot of thought to figure out a build from there. Commanders do not need to take on more. You are not there for support and you are not there for dps. You are only there to stay up in a fight and command.

I went charr because I want the enemy to focus on me. I want them to feel the pain of my wells and life blast. LOL.
