MMO players like to have their hands held OP.

The reasons of why most people play an MMO is very contradicting to why they actually should play an MMO. These people would probably have much more fun in a game like farmville. The only reason they don’t play farmville is because the lack of social interaction.

Dulfy is for people who are either very lazy or blind and can’t see anything on the ground. If you weren’t going to spend the time to find them on your own , then you, sir or mam, are very lazy.

Its not really a scavenger hunt if there are red circles on a map telling you where they are now is it?

PvE overflow queue to work like WvW queue

You know how when you try to get into a BL and you can queue for it? Why not have the same mechanic for PvE zones?

Example : Sparkfly Fen main is full and you try to Wp in. Instead of immediately going to an overflow , a window pops up that asks you to either queue or go to an overflow.

This way I don’t have to sit in one zone just to wait to get into the home server. I can go do something I would like to do while I wait.

Sitting around being AFK is just not fun.

Totally disagree with OP.

If Anet takes away Living Story they would be going back on their vision of what GW2 is supposed to be.

Maybe Anet shouldn’t announce what is next to come so it feels even more like a living world. Of course some will miss out , but that is life. It’s like missing your favorite sports team on television. At least people can tell you what happened if you ask.

The living story should stay. They just need a lot more storytelling in-game rather than some author writing a story post on the website.

The living story needs more cutscenes like the one in the pavilion with Lord Faren. That cutscene was so awesome looking.

Presentation is key to victory for these living world stories. The only players who complain are the ones who really don’t care whats going on. All they care about is getting the loot that it brings.

I am hoping that the dev teams and designers are improving with every release from listening to intelligent feedback and not just petty complaining.

Let me try to lay some of most poignant issues out here and more importantly prove why ArenaNet isn’t on the right track at all.

Conditions are still capped so condition users are left useless in a fight which is all about fast DPS. Better go babysit turrets because that’s all you’re good for here.

Some of the attacks aren’t even visible and AoE circles will frequently go under the water. This has been an issue with a lot of the bosses and the fact that it remains to be one is sad.

Weird instant deaths out of nowhere. This happens rarely but I’ve observed it once or twice myself. Not that big of an issue when it only happens to one person but still annoying.

Broken scaling. You need way over the recommended eighty players to stand a chance.

Overflows. Yeah, you’ll never see your main instance if you’re on a popular server due to all the guesting going on. Entire guilds are leaving and trying to find their own overflows due to this.

Main instance queue can be bypassed by spamming join. So even if you spend ten hours sitting in a queue waiting for your turn your spot is just going to get nabbed by somebody with a buddy on the other side.

Rewards are garbage and completely RNG based.

And I think that about sums it up.

Yesterday BG did a cool thing where they got everyone on TS and then guested to a low pop server.

I do feel for you about the condition situation though. Right now condi is more of a 1v1 type thing.

I can’t wait until all bosses get reworked.

If players quit this game because of the difficulty increase of “endgame” content then shame on them.

Some players wanted raids. Some players wanted more interaction on boss fights. Tequatl is now basically an open world Raid. Should it be this difficult? Yes. Should there be a timer? No. The cost for death is good enough for this boss encounter.

I believe Anet is on the right track here. Tequatl is not perfect, but hey its an online game and there are things called patches.

You have the audacity to say shame on someone else over PvE content. That’s hilarious, but I have a better idea. How about you step into a place that actually takes skill to win. PvP was supposed to be the end game of GW2. They couldn’t do that because that actually required skill. The PvE crowd didn’t want to have to fight something that wasn’t scripted. They didn’t like getting trashed /laughed at because they had no skill. So instead we get another empty boss fight where the only skill is in “throw more numbers at it”.

If that offends you, tough.

I play the game because it is fun. I like to role-play in an MMO"RPG" since you know this game is an RPG. The loot and other rewards are just the cherry on the top.

That’s a good outlook.

But some of us have been playing this game for a year and have done everything.

Expansions are not coming, we have only the LW updates to look forward to, supported by the cash shop.

If the LW updates will not be good, then… frankly that sucks. :\

I have been playing since the betas and have done everything as well with the exception of getting a legendary. I have every profession to 80 and all have multiple sets of exotic gear.

The living story content only sucks if you don’t give a crap about the lore. So far after I am done with the current LS I can’t wait to see what the next one brings.

Also, expansions don’t guarantee fun. There used to be a time when games didn’t have expansions or updates at all. You got what you paid for on the spot. If you have been playing for a year then I don’t see why anyone would be complaining.

If you are waiting a year for something good to come from this game…. well think about it.

I like how ease of access the game is and how it presents the content in the form of Dynamic Events. I play all aspects of the game because I find it fun, even Spvp(which most think is crap).

There are challenges to the game that are not so carebear, but the majority of players complain that they don’t give enough reward. The mechanics of the game cannot get much more difficult without physical interaction with the environment such as platform jumping.

Yep and this event is a giant dps check. You utilities are useless(except Guardian relfects and Ele conjures)

So basically you are taking all the work out of something and letting Dulfy play the game for you. Isn’t that pathetic?

These sites are up awfully fast. My guess is, other people send her the information which she then puts up. Likely there is a team doing it. I doubt she is doing it all herself.

I would like a rework of all bosses , and have mechanics similar to Tequatl’s , but the timers need to be extended or taken away.

Instead of failure being because a timer goes down , why not failure be because the players didn’t defend a structure or escort something?

A good example would be the batteries for the megalazer. If one battery goes down then Tequatl uses that insta-kill tidal wave and the event fails.

More like it has either too much health or too little time to accomplish.

I am all for coordination, but when it comes down to every second counts(and you have to rely on others) I would rather it be instanced so I could weed out the baddies.

I give Tequatl 3 weeks and it will become deserted. Not because it is too hard, but because half+ of the GW2 community want something for nothing. Tagging a toe was much more fun to them than having to do “stuff”. I don’t call these people casuals. I call them degenerates; people who don’t want to challenge themselves and would rather bring everyone else down to their level.

Time + Effort = Reward

Anet has decided that the time determines the guaranteed gold reward and the effort determines the possible drops.

However the effort for this as opposed to a dungeoun run…you use far more effort in fighting the dragon, thus it should be worth SEVERAL dungeoun runs worth of raw cash/gear.

The effort for completing a dungeon is completely subjective. IMO all dungeon runs are way too easy for the amount of reward they give with the exception of TA F/U and maybe Arah 4. Tequatl has it beat because of amount of health and a countdown. Dungeons do not have a timer so difficulty is null.

I believe the amount of time we have to defeat Tequatl is unrealistic for the majority of GW2 players.

GW players are just not that good in skill IMO. Some of them are just the kind of “I’m just happy to be here” type.

u do know that karka queen is killed a lot these days?? and yes u still have people dead at karka queen, but u dont have tons of dead bodies like u used to. it’s called getting used to, and u can easily avoid the 1 hit stuff like shockwave.

so what your saying is that we should all guest to t1 servers and not waste our time with smaller pop servers?
because the karka queen on my server hasnt actually been killed since the southsun update was over with.
and now the southsun cove is a giant karka hive with 0 players bar the gatherers.

If only there was something that the Tequatl had that made you want to fight him.

I have been talking to players across all servers and they all believe that Tequatl will be a ghost town with a week or so because of they believe it is unbeatable.

Even if Tequatl is beaten the rewards are tiny. Same goes for Karka Queen or any world boss. Anet really needs to boost the rewards for killing these bosses much higher than they think.

I played MMOs before the Holy Trinity existed – i.e. early EQ, before people realized that you could actually cast the big super-slow efficient Cleric heal in combat, before Warriors got buffed and could hold actually reliably aggro, and so on. I remember when it started to come in, it was kind of a shocking development, as people had operated differently before that. Back then it was more Tank/Healer/CC with DPS sort of being assumed. Only later in EQ’s history did “DPS” start to come into it’s own.

In DAoC roles were more complex, with tanks, off-tanks, healers, buffers, CCs, and PBAErs in PvE (often a class filled more than one role, too), and still no real “single target DPS” per se (in a sustained rather than bursty fight, the “Rogue”-type classes and archers did less damage than the tanks, often, and magic tended to bounce off bosses).

So I am glad to see the back of the WoW-style Tank/Healer/DPS trinity. It was never very interesting, and only happened as a result of a few tweaks and buffs in a game fourteen years ago. I wouldn’t mind move away from the Zerkerzerkerzerker-type PvE we have right now, but not towards those three roles, or god help us, traditional aggro tables.

It would be awful hard to move away from a zerker/zerker/zerker formula because in GW2 the key to winning is to kill your opponent in PvE. The only way to kill your opponent is through damage. Zerker stats kill the opponent the fastest so why choose something that would probably take twice as long?

Anet cannot nerf Berserker stats because players would start to get one shotted, and to many, that is not a challenge. There shouldn’t be skills out there that one shot, but there should be PvE mob skills out there that are highly telegraphed and if not dodged it takes out a fixed 90% of your health(no matter how much health you have it will always be 90%).

Mechanics like this one would probably get players out of that zerker stat.

A lot of people are talking about things they “HAVE to do”. Let me ease your minds…. You don’t have to do anything in GW2. You could stay at exotic level and still be good in your little PvE world.

If you find that playing GW2 without feeling you have to do something specific is boring , and not fun , then you should probably quit.

The whole mentality of “trying to keep up with everyone else so I can be cool” is pretty sad. This mentality is a big reason why we have problems IRL.

PvP is dead. When PAX only gets that many subscribers for a major tourney and the comments are from ppl who don’t play…its dead. When I step into the mists and am the ONLY person there b/c I’m waiting on a WvW queue….its dead.

If WvW was the focus we’d have Devs listening to us…….they are ignoring what WvW players are telling them and continuing to focus on a dead (yes you can’t prove otherwise) gametype.

Hhmmmmmmmmmmmmm. I watch Starcraft 2 NASL tournaments but I only play SC2 on occasion.

I don’t understand statements like “pvp is dead” or “this game is dead”. As long as the servers are running this game is alive.

I honestly dont know if thats why there not making cantha. I really hope they do. Personally i wouldnt be offended by it and i cant imagine anyone who would be but i think they are considering the impact cantha would have on their sales in china.

Wouldn’t it be a positive impact on sales? Gamers are a new generation IMO, they like experiencing content that resembles cultures from all over the world even if it is mixed.

I don’t know if anyone was offended by Cantha in GW1 so why would anyone be offended by it in GW2?

In a Matt Visual interview a dev rumored Cantha(or Cantha themed content) may come through Living Story(the Bazaar is arguably Canthan content).. I don’t know if this is positive since that would probably mean it would be temporary. There is just so much juicy lore that can be made in Cantha , like the Jade Sea and Petrified Forest stories. What about the dragon’s? Did some of them visit Cantha? We know the trade routes were cut off because of them and the new Emperor. The Luxon and Kurzick were erased. Maybe there are a few secretive Luxon or Kurzicks still out there.

I would rather they expand Tyria’s globe to fit in Cantha. I really don’t remember where Cantha lies in Tyria.

This project would be long term because of the scope and actual size of the continent. Either they have some secretive team working on it , or they are just trying to get the fans to forget about Cantha. Like it didn’t exist. Which is like a kick in the face to the fans who actually like lore.

That guy said its a possibility. he said theyre looking into it. On the other hand CJ was quiet about it. So either its a major suprise which i doubt but i would be very happy to see. Otherwise its never going to happen. I wouldnt get your hopes up especially since they are trying to release the game in china i doubt they will include a stereotypically asian area like cantha.

Isn’t Tyria basically a stereotype of Western culture? I just don’t see how showing Asian structures or lifestyles is a bad thing.

I for one am not offended by the Western style of the current game so why would any Asian be offended by Asian content? Its not like we live in the past where everything is sacred.

I am pretty sure it does not matter where you are from if you are a gamer. Usually gamers are open minded and aren’t offended by cultural influences in games. Cantha is Cantha.. Not Asia. The buildings and other things can be just pure coincidental.

Maybe there are a few secretive Luxon or Kurzicks still out there.

I would rather they expand Tyria’s globe to fit in Cantha. I really don’t remember where Cantha lies in Tyria.

This project would be long term because of the scope and actual size of the continent. Either they have some secretive team working on it , or they are just trying to get the fans to forget about Cantha. Like it didn’t exist. Which is like a kick in the face to the fans who actually like lore.

wvwvw is boring. Just a big zerg running around.
The aspect of open world internal server pvp, is the fact that it is surprise there would be a lot of fun on a server with this type of pvp.

It would be interesting to see how many people would transfer to a server like this.

If you roam solo in WvW you will find 1v1s……… I promise you.
