OP i kinda laughed when you said something about a Dervish profession being added.
Anet has pretty much hit all the archetypes in the MMO fantasy so a Dervish is more like a guardian and warrior put together.
You can always play dervish on GW1 though … Have fun.
My biggest problem with UG is that it’s a stun break (reactive ability) attached to an active (offensive) ability. Elixir U suffers the same problem. I don’t like having to wait to use something offensive because it’s tied to my stun break. When they did the stun break shuffle, they should have fixed both of these.
This^. I love Goggles. They offer a great boost for bursts and have a relatively low CD. However, you get scared to use it at times because you just don’t know if you’re going to need it defensively as a stun break. It really makes the Goggles’ purpose twice as useful and twice as confusing at the same time.
well how about wait till you get stunned, then stun break and burst away? It is all about timing.

In spvp today I saw a mesmer that was able to mantain over four clones/illusions at any given time. Is this a bug or can mesmers go past the three illusion limit? Yes, I made sure that mesmer was the only mesmer around and all the clones had the same name and guild tag.
They are either going to play with the timing or the rewards wont be good enough for them to have to adjust it.
Rewards won’t be good enough? That’s like saying its better off just not having this change to even be implemented.
Something is better than nothing. It will be once a day for each Champion I would imagine so the players who go to multiple zones to find and kill these champions will be very happy. I myself will be starting parties to trek across Tyria to find and kill these champions.

Pets are so useless when there is nothing in Beastmastery. You end up sacrificing a lot if you put anything in that trait line so why even bother?
There is no upside to buffing your pet since it is so dumb it cant hit anything or even shoot off skills quick enough. (Just like if you have your mainhand sword on autoattack it is locked onto completing the previous action first).
Also, they still get 2 shotted or even one shotted by champions and bosses which immediately renders your ranger useless.
Rangers need to be able to control all of their pets abilities for them to be viable. Like remap every skill to the F1-4, and F5-8 should be the original commands. The players can come up with their own key modifiers to make themselves comfortable.
Rangers are even denied party spots because of the fact that pets are soooooo bad.

Right now the only way to counter condi spam is with better condi spam and control. Necros have condi spam, boon ripping, and CC without even having to trait.
Even in tpvp if you want to be safe you just roll condition build with CC. Why roll raw damage if you’re just going to get weaken , or blind spammed on you? IMO torment just needs to be dealt with. Crippled needs to be more effective than chill in movement speed effect.
Boons and condition has been the meta of tpvp and spvp. Is this bad? NO. What is bad is that raw damage cannot compete with it.
oh shut it people. the “DPS” loss is just laughable. And the “LB nerf” is even more laughable.
We got a buff in the right direction. Blast finisher, Stealth, the ability to ON YOUR OWN, have 18 stacks of vulnerability on a target at any given moment. The fact that your pet does 2% less “DPS” compared to before is laughable, considering that the potential DPS on the longbow is now 12% more.
Oh and one last thing… remember that blast finisher? You now got, even in zerker gear, 10 times the group utility you had before. With a sword and a warhorn, you get 2 times the healing you had before. And if you bother to build properly, you can provide a team, or your pet, with more might then you EVER could before.
Might = more DPS.
in the end. you lost NOTHING. you just gained TWICE as much. and you still whine.

Sorry to say this but Luxon and Kurzick were both destroyed by the Emperor so no go for factions there.
Since this specific JP is accessed from WvW that would mean that you need team cooperation to help complete the JP. You honestly can’t call up some friends to help you get through a Pvp JP? I say get new friends.
I agree. I run many alts with many gear sets and my inventory is filling up. My bank just can’t take the load. I change my builds constantly so I have to drag at least 2 sets of armor around. It is really cumbersome and we need templates.

I’m pretty sure if you Spvp as much as you have been PvEing you would see your favorite armor.
A reason why people don’t Spvp is because they are too lazy to come up with counters to their nightmares. (i.e. thieves, mesmers) I believe this reason is the most pathetic reason.
Also, if you step into Spvp now you will probably be wrecked by any seasoned PvPer which will turn any newcomer down. Maybe there should be arenas where newbies can play against each other and learn the ropes.
Spvp is a learning experience. You have access to all skills and traits. It is up to you to come up with a build that can handle many other builds in the current meta. There is no ultimate build that can destroy all other builds. (Just like in GW1, though people would argue that the RoJ monks were the ultimate build , but I say hogwash).
Spvp is a game of skill and correct gear choices. I find it similar to dota where everyone has reached max level and it all comes down to your build choice and your items. This scares people because they can’t rely on having better gear than their foe which is very pathetic.
There is no risk to Spvp. If you lose, you don’t lose anything. You actually still gain glory and rank, which is incredibly easy!
IMO hotjoin is just a mess because of 8v8 zerging. Tpvp is where you really can put your skills to the test.
In PvE when you are blasting through mobs on your way getting somewhere with your favorite type of build it is kind of annoying having to wait for your spirit to die or recharge just so you can cast it further up ahead to the next bunch of mobs to kill.
That is one reason I would like spirits to be changed to follow untraited.
There are just some support dps ranged builds I would like to see but can’t because you are forced to go down that spirit trait line and sacrifice combat efficiency.
So far there is so little you can do with spirits because they are stationary unless traited. There are so few builds that are possible for this.
You might as well not put a spirit on your bar if you don’t have any traits towards them.
I would like to make a power, precision, condition build that involves sun spirit , but I don’t want to waste additional stats and traits just so I can have the darn thing moving.
The spirits resemble oak hearts which move naturally. You could just let them move at slower speed , and then have a trait where it increases movement speed of them.

Initiative loss and cooldowns for thief……. dead thief. I played some more and still haven’t lost to ant thieves 1v1………
I guess I am just elite, or maybe I know what my build can and cannot do. The secret to winning 1v1’s is to be the aggressor.
Having said that the greatsword isn’t that good for spvp for a ranger. Dual leap pets does sound nice , but I like to have a ranged pet. A ranged pet doesn’t have to chase after mobile enemies. It can just sit and turret away. Also my bird’s blind attack does double hit and can do 2k damage spike.
The secret to beating a zerker thief with zerker ranger is,,,, simply dps when he dps. You have higher health pool , and your pet can disrupt anything.
Honestly zenith try the build or stop hounding it.
You are missing a crucial part…..player skill. This build is not really meant for 1v1 though in the right hands it can handle anything. This ranger build has CC , LB 4 and Axe 4 not to mention immobi with the spider.
“The thief is beaten by engineers and phantasm mesmers and sometimes s/d eles.” -Except I have seen necros, warriors , and guardians 1v1 thieves fine and win. There is no such thing as hard counters. Every profession has CC, condi , or spike. Depends on the build.
I would have to say that this ranger build would fit into enough spike damage plus CC. That is why this build can beat thieves.
Your statement might have been true in GW1 , but in GW2 any profession can beat any other profession based on player skill. If you can’t beat a thief of any kind with this build then you just aren’t that good at pvp.
There is no build that has a 100% win rate against another class. GW2’s mechanics don’t allow it.
Try the build before you judge it otherwise whatever you are saying means nothing to me.

Known thieves? Are you a pro or something? Its easy to say what a thief can do, but in actual combat so much can go wrong. You act as if this is turn-based.
I’m sorry but I was just trying to post a build that I have great success with.If all this build has to worry about is one measly little shadow thief then I think it pretty awesome. But honestly I can out dps a thief. Thieves have such a low health pool, but I don’t have to tell you that right?

Barrage. rapid fire just before the stealth……… ummm staying out of blind fields and not being a kitten with my sword. keep in mind this isn’t really a 1v1 build. my raven usually tracks and kills the thief by itself.
its not hard to figure out what the thief will do in stealth or what a d/p thief will try.
You have to be a complete noob to be getting killed 100% of the time from a thief.
Except that has never happened to me…….. Been in over 150+ tpvp games with this build and thieves of any kind don’t have a chance. The damage just murders them.
The only reason anyone dies from a zerker thief is because of their own stupidity.

There you have it. It is excellent paired with any tank hybrid teammate. In team fights you will be sniping anyone that you have a disliking to. Plenty of stability.
Your counters will be any boon removal/ CC mix.
Try it out. Stay at range for as long as you can. Your axe 4 destroys anyone trying to run away or any dumb stationary target. Sword is only meant for finishing or running away.
So what other content type would you have replace JPs? More PvE mobs to easily gib? OMG that would be so boring.
Jumping Puzzles are supposed to be challenging. If you hate JPs it is because it is above your skill level. Heaven forbid you ever played Super Mario.
JPs as of late have been a great refresher IMO. They do need better rewards for the harder JPs at least.
Let’s get one thing straight. Achievement Points are meant to be difficult or take time to get. If you aren’t willing to challenge yourself you do not deserve to get achievement points.

There is no legitimate reason to be whining about missing on achievement points from any type of content Anet throws at us.
Achievement points are plenty and infinite. They can be obtained every day until the end of GW2’s life.
Those who do not have the time to complete the achievements probably only play for five minutes at a time. This isn’t really playing at all is it? GW2 is not Tetris.
Why do people think that they need to get as many achievement points as possible in the shortest amount of time? Are you going to quit after you reach your ultimate goal and find some other game? I think not.
GW2 is the type of game that you always come back to. I myself could take a month break and would be missing out on vertical progression (crosses fingers).
Who are you racing against really? If you want to be competitive , try out Tpvp and get a group going.
I guess it is the personal aspect of achievement points that draws players to rush. The items you see that you get you want them straight away. Patience isn’t in your coloring book.
TL:DR : It is incredibly stupid to feel left behind in GW2. Especially when its about your achievement points. In my honest opinion.

Racing is already there with Sanctum Sprint which is great for those who have good computers and internet speed.
If you look at GW2 in a technical PoV you already have many genres covered.
I guess players need something to hate such as the JPs to make the rest of the game better. You always have to have something bad for good stuff to be present.
This is just me but I have never had a problem with JPs. I guess I am just elite. Plus there are guides to all the JPs so if you really are having trouble there is help on those interwebs.

GW2 needs to be that game that puts multiple genres in one masterpiece. Is GW2 a masterpiece? Not yet…..
Jumping puzzles fuel the platformer type. they aren’t really puzzles. they are pretty easy to beat. It is easy to tell where you need to go.
I believe Anet can pull this off. For GW2 to be successful it needs to be more than just an MMORPG.
Why should Living Story be permanent? IMO it shouldn’t.
Living Story is meant to bring a little bit of realism to Tyria. Let’s use historical WWII for example IRL. Would you want WWII to be permanent for all the newborn babies to experience it? I would think not.
Living Story is hard to accomplish because you have Zhaitan as the Big boss. Where does living story fit in? During Zhaitan’s occupation or after Zhaitan’s death? How do the player’s that have beaten Zhaitan experience this Living Story?
It is complicating for Role players and for those who want to immerse themselves into the game.
I think the majority of whiners on the forums don’t give a crap about the lore and are just whining about missing out on achievement points and how hard it is to get them. Players are given weeks to complete this content so why complain?
I applaud Anet for giving us a challenge and something different from the standard grinding of PvE mobs. It is good to hear that more permanent content is coming, but temporary content should always come at a bi-weekly or monthly basis.

No one said you have to do these JPs or living story content. The rest of the PvE world is out there. This game is way too easy and Living Story gives players a challenge.
If you don’t like to have a challenge, don’t do JPs or any Living Story events. I can’t believe players just want to stand around hitting mobs all the time.

Having 24/7 coverage only means one thing; You have zergs that can PvDoor. There is no skill in that. Being number 1 in WvW doesn’t mean anything if you PvDoor to win.
Maybe what the community should do is honor a matchup between guilds of similar army values on certain timezones. Only those guild can play WvW at certain times while everyone else just chills.
easy…. stuns and aoe. a thief can only hurt you if you can’t make contact.
Maybe a way to fix this would be to give chanters a channel heal.
2 second channel , at the end of channel heal seal a bit. This way players can interrupt.
Especially in Spvp. Your pet tries to situate itself behind your opponent(while your opponent is jumping around everywhere) which means you lose overall number of pet attacks. This means melee pets are almost useless because they keep trying to get behind and chasing without attacking. The only chance your pet gets to attack is if you immobilize,stun, or chill. Even traiting your pet to run faster seems to make no difference.
I would rather have my pet beeline to my opponent and attack in front of him and take some damage for me. Pets are not as squishy as before.

So the old tactic doesn’t work, how do you deal with arm seals part now?
It seemed almost impossible to do for my group today. (Guard, Warr 2x, Ele 2x)
And important note: This was only fractal lvl 20, I think after this update its really impossible to do this part on lvl 40+.
Not to sound like a kitten but this is the way it use to be done when it first came out and up until level 39 you can just rush from side to side and don’t kill them all which caused them to follow you into tunnel buying you time. We even use to leave one person on one side who would grab aggro and pull them into the tunnel then let them leash.
With your team setup on level 20 its defiantly a L2p situation. You should have no problem at 20. This does make 40+ not worth the time even more than ever. I guess this is anets way of trying to get rid of the all zerker groups. Once again the casual players win.

I just recently got my warrior full berserker armor. I must say, I just blast through any content with ease with the exception of WvW.(then again you get high enough base armor with warrior it doesnt even matter in WvW).
Why do anything else other than farm cof path 1&2 and get riches? 6gold a day is wonderful.
I just wish all other stat combinations were viable but I guess it comes down to playstyle. Everyone likes to do big damage numbers. No need for heals and support, the content is too easy. No I don’t want trinity back. It just feels that there is lack of actual team composition. Everyone just damages and CC is a joke because of defiant stacks on bosses.
I get the reason though. No one wants huge kitten bosses ping ponging all over the place.
Instead of just defiant stacks how about a percent chance the CC will take effect?
Bottom line. Once you go berserker you don’t go back.
