Overcharge should be a pulse. Healing turret goes down way too fast in spvp
Battlefield 3 is a good example.
When using a mortar in BF3 your minimap is given a cross-hair to aim with when raining explosives down on your enemies. The player’s camera would move according to where they are aiming with the minimap help.
No reason it wouldn’t be fair. It gives the player to ability to use full range and anyone can use it, ally or foe.
Players already glitch or hack to get better arrow cart shots in WvW. This would give everyone a fair chance.
stagnant combat in GW1 versus crazy action combat in GW2……. HMMMMM,,,, I think I pick GW2.
If you are having problems against a stealthed character , you really don’t know all the facts on how to deal with stealth. Probably don’t even lift.
I cringed when he said “somewhat pay to win.” Haven’t spent a dime in gem store and still kicking kitten against anything I come across.
This guy may be right about pre- engame, it is really hard to build what you want pre-lvl80. Other than that I don’t know why he would call GW2 a “somewhat pay to win”
What I want to know is why under-boob is ok on one piece of armor. But showing a little but is not in this game or a claw covering an breast.
underboob is the best. its not as revealing in terms to percentage of skin to the mind as a side boob. Remember lich armor skin female in GW1? side boob , more revealing.
that is really the only PhD you should trust. No need for a second opinion.
every now and then I get a little burned out even with all the alts I have. 8 lvl 80s all professions.
Guild Wars 2 is a game where you can take breaks and come back and still be strong enough to do all of the content. If the stat ceiling rises I would hope that Anet gives players a quick and easy way(such as karma banked, gold reserves, dungeons) for all play types to get to that max stat.
Spending every hour of every day on GW2 will make you feel like you can’t leave. I’m here to tell you that you can with no consequence. Trust me , I am a doctor of some sort.
Quite the opposite for me. Can’t wait till next patch to see all of the details. Not everything was covered in the SOTG.
It doesn’t freaking work! I put 30 points into Tools trait, no recharge reduction on tool belt.
Playing pvp today messing around with builds and trait for gadgets for fun and I noticed this huge problem. How come this has not been fixed?
Title says it all. It just doesn’t look good in any graphical setting.
The pic shows where the cut is. Right in the stomach area.
Ever go into a city building or house and see a glass container with jewels in them that you want to steal?
Memories of Elder Scrolls experiences come back to me when I see a case such as the one in the pic.
I just want to use my lock pick and steal!
maybe they should just widen the line of sight area to like a circle all around you(with a radius of 800 range) and a V shape pointing out in front??
I think spirits should be able to move without having to trait it. Combat is fast and short, so why should I wait for 60 secs to build up another spirit if I am not traited for them to follow?
Better yet , how about let the spirits last forever until they are killed and have them follow you. Possibly work like engineer turrets?
nerf cof path 1?no, lets make it more difficult and gated.
Put closed doors before every event instance so it cant be skipped. Put a closed door just after the bridge part. Make the players kill the flame guard and the 2 sentinels before the door is open. Do the same on the gate controller. Yes make one person still destroy it , but then the players have to kill that veteran flame thrower guy.
There needs to be ways to stop the rhythm of farming. Random effigies that show up out of nowhere and close all progressing doors forcing the players to kill him.
That tier 3 cultural armor is nice and not just because it shows a little underboob. It gives more definition to the female form.
I know a few female players who like to use skimpy armor on their characters so I don’t see who would be offended. This is a teen rated game after all and content these days in all media for teenagers is evolving and getting ever so closely to adult themes.
I’m not saying the armor should look like anything out of Scarlet Blade though. Check that MMO out and you will know what I mean.
I played GW1 and loved how I could just use C to target the closest enemy.
Target closest in GW2 does not work properly, instead you target the target that is second closest to you. You actually have to press the hotkey twice to get it to target which can be frustrating in precise moments of combat.
Giant Seal breaker zone :
End boss , if you stack on him after the first hammer drop he will drop the hammer when a player smashes the seal.
The two seals that you have to alternate and run back and forth is also exploited. Leaving one enemy alive on each side keeps more enemies from spawning.
Skipping content in dungeons has become the norm for most parties.
The reasons for skipping can be that the content is too hard, or time consuming.
There needs to be certain ways to lock players from skipping a part such as doorways that don’t open until the latest objective is complete.
Well they did add in a lot of trinket sets that where only things you could get from dungeon drops. Do you just want to be able to every thing in the game with Krama alone?
Essentially yes, with the exception of a precursor since you can get one in a mega boss dynamic event. Most of the things you buy at merchants such as picks, axes, and salvage kits can be bought from karma vendors , its just hard to find them.
I would be happy with the 70k karma per exotic piece, but the vendors should be located in LA or other major citites, not spread all over Orr.
Karma can be used to get a variety of useless things. When I say this I mean karma doesn’t really buy you anything that is any good at level 80.
Right now you cannot buy a full set of same stat armor with your karma for example: Clerics, Berserkers, Knights, etc. You can’t even buy exotic weapons with your karma.
Say you are a player who like to do dynamic events, talks only to karma vendors, and does nothing else in this game. The only way you could find an exotic is by random chance on loot. It is not really fair to players if you can just steamroll a dungeon a few times. Then again some dungeon teams require you to have full exotic and a certain stat parameter.
There are definitely players out there who do nothing but Dynamic Events that have tons of karma and nothing worth buying.
The very reason why some people played this game was because of the idea of a living world and dynamic events.
TL:DR
Players should be able to buy every full exotic stat set and weapons with their karma. The skins don’t have to be great.
whats wrong with asking a friend to play with you? He or SHe will be getting rewards as well! Its a win-win
That why I said it could be an activity. A developer can do anything with a game with today’s current technology.
Super Smash Guild Wars! (tentative title)
Our guild found a fun way to play with princess doll tonics where we play Super Smash Bros style combat on a bridge in LA. If you get cast off the bridge you lose and must wait until next round.
This could be turned into an activity located in LA or another major city for lots of fun.
There could be character avatars to choose from , like Destiny’s Edge heroes , that have their own unique skills that can send opponents flying off the platform of battle.
best way to get your laurel IMO is doing Spvp daily.
Something like the PvP locker would be nice.
No to elves. They do not fit in the current lore and let’s face it – they’re cliche.
As for dwarves, this has been debated before. It’s possible (despite only 1 living) but not likely.
I agree that elves are way cliche. I use to think it was cool to be an elf , but now I see that the only difference is in the ears. You cannot put elves in GW2 because Sylvari has taken some of elven lore. I’m in no way saying that Sylvari are elves. Sylvari is all about nature.
There is more than one dwarf living. They are just deep underground still battling destroyers, but they are in stone form and they are the last of there kind and the only dwarves that ever will exist.
Short story: Not Gonna Happen.
Hard to tell what gender someone is these days unless you outright ask them. A lot of males like to play as female characters. I myself have a few female alts because their armor looks better and a female warrior is appealing to me. Yah I am weird.
I would say that Stability should prevent immobilize, but be ineffective once you are already immobilized. Stability shouldn’t act as a condition removal to begin with imo, it should be preemptive only
That is very interesting, but the warrior trait that uses “balanced stance” would have to be changed.
There you have it . The question that could have many opinions.
Immobilize can render a player completely useless for a long time and is very powerful because of that. When a player is immobilized the auto attack stops, server lag(I assume) stops you from using any skills for about .75 secs, and you cannot turn to target your foe.
There are builds out there that thrive on immobilize. An engineer alone can lock down an opponent almost permanently with a rifle , net turret , and bomb kit.
In many ways I believe yes it stability should cleanse immobilize, but in other ways I see immobilize as a key player in 1v1 battles.
You can still use a condition removal skill so that is another reason why I say no it shouldn’t.
I know this is unrealistic to some but I believe it can be done. The world of Tyria once you hit level 80 gets considerably smaller especially when you get %100 completion.
There is really no point in going back to the lower level zones unless you are doing guild missions.
Everyone wants those tier 5-6 materials and you cannot get them in low-mid level zones. Sure you could mystic forge low tier mats to get better ones but that takes a huge grind and resources.
Southsun Cove is fun and it has an exclusive drop , the karka shell. This IMO is a great idea to continue.
Guild Wars 2 just seems small. Adding a few more zones would fix that.
I would recommend putting more zones near Rata Sum , and the Grove. That area needs higher level zones and it feels like an expansion pack with limited content. There is so much land to the west that could be used.
The super adventure box vendor named Moto is a good example of what I am trying to propose.
How about getting a certain trophy or collectible as a drop in the respective cultural areas that would act as a secondary currency for the skin?
I just think there should be more ways to getting things than having to grinding the same thing to get what you really want.
Giving the player options on how to get skins will probably make lots of people happy. They are skins after all, and would not make your characters any more powerful.
Some cultural armor pieces look really nice, but there is a problem. They are all rare. This means we have to spend that 100+ gold to get the tier 3 armor , then you have to get transmutation crystals from luck or from grinding another 3-6 gold to buy gems or spend cash ( hell no ) .
I propose that the vendors have another tab where you can buy the skin that you can transmute(like the hall of monument skins) into your preferred armor stat for the same price + ecto or karma or even skill points. There are numerous currencies that a player has that aren’t being used ( well at least for me).
This would solve many mistakes as well. When transmuting armor people have to be very careful of what they click for the right stats and some people have probably been angered at a mistake or two.
I run a lot of alts and it is getting very time consuming and very grindy to get the certain armor skins that I want.
I really do not want to grind CoF Path 1 all day just to get that shiny armor. This type of play is against the manifesto.
I sometimes call CoF “Fire Temple” (you know from Aion) since you grind it a million times and get nothing good.
Take Engineer for example, the rifle turret alone does not do much damage without being traited IMO. Once you trait to make that turret stronger you lose overall effectiveness in other utility skills.
The base damage or effectiveness of every utility skill should be strong without having to trait them to be effective in combat.
The ranger’s pet is also a great example. 0 into beastmastery and your pet is paper weight and dies in 3 hits or less unless you are using arctodus or any pet that has some type of invulnerability.
All professions seem to be powerless unless you go extreme DPS build (a.k.a berzerker).
Also the amount of cooldown on skills is too much compared to the damage or effectiveness the skill gives out.
Quickness has been reduced to %50 and the duration of quickness has been increased but not enough IMO.
With the current structure , there are only a few builds that are viable to certain scenarios.
There are builds out there that have much higher success rates in PvP than others. This means that people have found builds that take less skill to use and everyone is using them. Thief HS build comes to mind though not nearly as easy to use before the update.
Some skills do not even see the light of day. I wonder if skill usage statistics are being monitored.
My question is: What will Anet do to make any skill combination or trait combination viable for average difficulty play? A highly skilled player should be able to use any skill combination and be successful.
Players today have resorted to making the easiest build for the easiest content(Cof path1) and certain skills are collecting dust.
in other words: there is no endgame
this game gives you everything on a platinum platter… and every persone playing the game poops his pants if there is an item that he/she can’t get within 4 minutes. So do what I will do, play the game untill level 80 (because the world is awesome) and than come back when the game adds something fun to work for. Rare items that only some can get, awesome rewards in pvp etc. and maybe even super rare items that you can only craft.
Rare items that only some can get? Feeling a bit elitist here? In a competitive atmosphere everyone is given equal power so everyone should be able to get that max damage item.
If you are someone who is looking to find that loot that is gonna make you godly against opponents this game is just not for you.
GW1 did fine with gear stat caps and GW2 should follow in the footsteps of its daddy.
Probably should be no AoE limit in PvE. But in tier 1 WvW it gives longer fights.
I can see why people don’t want AoE limit. These people want more realism in the game.
I’m GWAMM 50/50. I like Guild Wars 1 and Guild Wars 2.
I think Guild Wars 2 has the potential to be an amazing game, but it needs time to mature. I’m willing to give it that time.
I can’t wait to see what Guild Wars 2 is going to be like in the years to come. Guild Wars 1 when it first released was great and it got even better over time.
Guild Wars was my first MMO type game. It was affordable and no other MMO that I tried kept my attention as long as this game did. I even scoffed at how bad WoW was compared to the gameplay and skill customization GW1 gave back then. GW2 still holds true to gameplay and delivers on quest presentation.
45/50 Legend of the Mists was a good enough title for me :p
This is a tragedy. Cantha cannot just disappear. There were great stories, architecture and landscapes that really gave Prophecy owners a fresh feel back then. To erase that from a fan’s memory is to lose respect from them.
Where do I go when I play GW1? Cantha
Why should Anet listen to outside sources and NCsoft when developing their game? I remember someone saying that Anet doesn’t but this is clearly not the case on this decision.
It would be awesome to make Cantha stand-alone…. Impossible you say? I think not. At least something like that would be reminiscent of the past stand-alone campaigns. Would probably take another 7 years to make but hey it would definitely be worth it.
being a dungeon master does not translate into being good at everything else in the game. On the other hand , playing WvW or SPvp regularly will increase your PvE skill assuming you have max gear.
Why xfer to any server other than JQ? JQ will never die because of the mass amount of bandwagoners and frequent guild recruiting. JQ loves to recruit when they don’t get first place for a week.
If you don’t like a challenge then join JQ . There is no server cap and it just takes a few cof runs to get the gold.
JQ rushed to get all the guilds in before server transfers were pay just to get overwhelming numbers and 24/7 coverage.
Yah lets all xfer to JQ , its our safest bet for a win every week and PvDooring for life.
i wonder if <insert guild here> is going to ask for more guilds to transfer to < insert Server here > because of a single loss from short win streak?
Daily achievements used to come naturally since it all could be done in one zone most of the time.
Now a DA has you running everywhere… What if I wanted to just park my butt in Queensdale all day and enjoy the atmosphere all the while getting an achievement.
When a game forces you to do something it feels so much like a chore. Yah no one is forcing you to complete a DA but still , back in earlier days of GW2 it was a breeze and it didn’t feel like " crap I gotta get my Daily achievements done"
This could also be the effects of laurels. What say you?
no game ever deserves a monthly fee. period. if you really want to put in that $15 a month for GW2 , buy $15ish of gems every month.
Dungeons , especially CoF path 1 has gone downhill to the point where if you aren’t a certain profession with certain gear , you are kicked.
When the community of players start asking each other about their gear in a dungeon and they kick for not having the required gear or profession it means dungeons have become a grind.
A newcomer can no longer enjoy a new experience until they run down their checks:
Full zerker gear ,,,,, check
Warrior, Mesmer,or Guardian,,,,,,, check
Correct trait lines,,,,, check
Skills ,,,,,, check
Dungeons are now trying to be completed in the shortest time possible just to get multiple runs in a given amount of time.
What is this called????? A GRIND!!!!!!!!!
Dungeons are no longer fun because of the content; dungeons are only fun because of the super easy steamroll that a full zerker team can do! Zerker requirement teams rake in about over 3g every 20 mins. just a fact
So should everyone just assimilate and run the same gear??? Where is the uniqueness in that?
I seriously don’t know how this can be fixed. Must not be broken. All I know is, I don’t like it. Its not what was intended I believe. Maybe should just buff dungeons so zerker gear isn’t the only gear required?
Yes maps need to be bigger! But that isn’t going to happen. They should probably just turn that big blue thing they call a lake into a river delta though.
Like to see you kill one solo.
Only reason world bosses are easy is because so many people are killing them.
Behemoth only takes a few minutes to kill, it takes far more time waiting for it to spawn.
Even if it were just me out there it still would be easy. All I would have to do against behemoth is dodge a few AoE circles and close a couple of portals. It would take forever to do , but that doesn’t make it difficult at all.
Time does not factor into difficulty……………… dude
My ranger typically has no MF whatsoever and it still finds rares on a regular basis.
I added 22% MF with a consumable and the whole duration all I got was junk, 1 rare, and copper and a few blues. No greens at all. This was during a Fractals run and I can tell you , same difficulty level without any MF would yield much better loot.
Shoudln’t be dying in PvE
