you should of blocked off the emotes and targeting, cuz now we know who your shaming and this will be flaged
Anyways, you can report players that camp/afk at spawn as bots in the report section.
The biggest issue with unlimited conditions would probably be if there are more Condition metas than there are Power metas. If an entire team is spec’d for conditions, then it does not matter how many cleanses you have, it’ll be an endless cycle. But they are shortening the base duration of all damaging conditions, so it might all work out.
Non-damaging conditions will still keep their stack limit. So immobilize’s duration will still be capped at 3 stacks.
And I’m pretty sure that Anet has thought of this, that’s why the base damage of all damaging conditions are going down. We’ll have to wait to see if their formula is on the money or not. And the numbers between the 3 game modes, PvP/WvW/PvE, are sure to be different.
And condition removal will still work the same, its not like a cleanse will only remove up to 25 stacks of bleed, and you’ll need a second cleanse to rid another 25. So if you’ve survived well against one condi spec’d foe you’ll be fine.
I think you should give Anet a bit more credit. And wait till we have more numbers/facts before jumping to conclusions.
And Masteries aren’t account wide
Actually they are.
“Each Mastery point can be earned once per account … Masteries award account-wide abilities and bonuses.”https://www.guildwars2.com/en/news/reimagining-progression-the-mastery-system/
Wow, that’s not how the beta was… or maybe it was just restricted in the beta. I hope they clarify that at some point. I kind of like the thought of journeying with all my characters, but I also like the thought that if I rolled a new one I can just pick up where I left off
Higher potential damage propagation than fixed 25%, which will make vuln stacking builds more viable, so it can go say to 100% if you stack vuln really hard.
You see, I can’t see it. We’re in a game where 5-7% damage increase can change the game/build drastically. So 25% is already crazy enough. You’re asking for a system that could theoretically double your damage? Have you gone up against a downed state necro with the 50%? Yeah… I just can’t imagine any formula or system that would make this feesible.
They just keep adding new Masteries.
It’s not going to be easy maxing Masteries on every character you have. Remember, Mastery Points are account bound, but you can only use them once, so you can earn a Mastery on your alt character and use it on your main but you can’t use it the same point twice, one on each character. And Masteries aren’t account wide, so if one of your alts have gliding maxed out, it does not mean all of your characters will have it maxed out.
And you can still use writs to turn into Tomes with the patch. And using Tomes at level 80 won’t net you mastery points but net you spirit shards which you can spend. So you can still use Tomes when you’re level 80.
Masteries are meant to be challenging new objectives once you hit level 80. Having a lot of Masteries on one character is meant to be something you can brag about, I’m glad they aren’t adding an easy way via Tomes. They clearly stated that Masteries and EXP would be unrelated in previous posts and releases, so I don’t know why anyone would be saving up tomes for that purpose.
Compared to Necro with 2 hp pools or Warrior with 5 active self-heals? Of course, infinitely wise one.
Guardians have dedicated Heal 6, activating Virtue of Resolve, 3 meditations that self-heal, activating Renewed Focus for a second Virtue of Resolve.
I count 6 active heals on the Guardian, Damage buff from fury, invulnerability, 2 cleanses, 2 stun-breaks, 2 active blocks (3 if you use shelter for your heal), 1 passive heal, 1 passive block. This is pretty tank on paper, you must be playing wrong.
Clearly the OP hasn’t been playing bunker guard right.
Aegis can be ridiculous if you trait it out. You can trait it to damage, heal even increase your damage. You can gain aegis from revives, cleansing, shouts, and your virtue.
GW2’s combat system is more about player skill than facerolling and winning, though PvE can make you forget that sometimes.
GW2’s combat is also very fast yes, so a passive 40 sec is an eternity, but that also means that a single well-timed aegis can turn the tide in an instant. Which makes GW2 so fun.
Skills and traits are grandfathered in right? This will actually benefit players that are level 80 and don’t have all their traits and skills unlocked right? When they’re transferred to the new system they’ll have L80 hero points that will equate to more unlocked than what they had before the change. And won’t affect the players that have already unlocked nearly everything.
Spending you skill points on items now or after won’t really matter since the currency change will be a near 1:1 or the cost of items would shift to make it 1:1.
OHHHHHHHHHHH, i’m stupid. you want them to implement a DR system for vuln. Ya, no. Don’t like the idea. Pass. 25% cap is power enough, DR would make it way too powerful, way more arbitrary. What would the formula be?
AW man, he went and edited his post, now i’m even more confused, leaving this thread. never coming back.
Point, as i said, is to change square 25% to dynamic % dependent on situation, mainly for PvP reasons. Arena’s main concern is that it doesnt spiral into as they said 700% damage bonus, and diminishing returns will address that.
It’s actually the exact opposite of arbitrary. It is set exactly to 25 to allow for exactly a 25% maximum damage increase.
Setting a DR system that gives less and less benefit for each additional stack… now that would be arbitrary.
Ah yes, googled the definition of arbitrary and you seem to be right. What i meant is that 25% cap was set without any reason of it being exactly 25% gameplay wise, and having it being unadjustable contradicts the game mechanics trend of every stat being dynamic.
Ah… I got you, instead of Vuln being 1% per stack. Make Vuln a constant % debuff and applying more vuln only adds to its duration, since a max 25% debuff is a bit ‘arbitrary’
[s]I think you’re using the word ‘arbitrary’ wrong.
‘Isnt a 25% vuln cap a bit arbitrary as well?’ = ’Isn’t 25% vuln cap a bit ‘overpowered’ as well?’
‘arbitrary’ means unrestricted or, in this case, unlimited power
So you want an overpowered concept to be more overpowered? I don’t really get what you meant. Did you mean to put a Kappa? Since they aren’t changing vuln.[/s]
(edited by ChoChoBo.6503)
should’ve took a screen cap. now you just look stupid.
You don’t really know until it rolls out. But I’m pretty sure Anet thought of this. They’re changing the formulas a lot. They haven’t released actual details, you don’t know, maybe the -33% healing potency will get a buff. Or the amount of times poison proc’s will increase.
At the moment, Poison will only stack 9 times for duration, so you can only add poison duration up to the 9th application.
They’re increasing the number of stacks and decreasing the base duration. So maybe after the changes rolls out, 15-25 stacks of poison might actually have the same duration as 9 stacks now.
I don’t really think you should pre-judge it before you have more facts.
Maybe you were not wvwing at the time, but poor nsp and ioj were crushed for months by the t2 reject of the week (there were 4 t2ish servers) often like this weeks score – but remember MONTHS.. Many bolted for greener pastures with no relief in sight. By the time t2 sorted out, it was too late. NSP seemed to have weathered that storm better than IOJ, but both were battered and bruised…..
This. It was really really bad and Anet never showed any evidence that they cared. The result? Massive numbers of people left IoJ for kitten, or bandwagon servers, making the already terrible population situation even worse.
It was a player created issue though. Anet is not, and should not, step in and ‘move’ server positions.
You have a tragedy of the commons problem so you need a higher authority. That would be Anet.
And there are a ton of things they can try, from the draconian no-transfers-ever, to rewarding transfers to smaller servers, to discouraging bandwagoning with high gem costs, to revising the PPT system, to changing map caps, to changing the ranking system, etc.
But they don’t even try. So yes, it is their fault.
Anet has tried to curve server population before and it only made things worst. Changing the costs to transfer servers only disrupted and made the balance between servers worst. They’ve tested out a PPK system on top of the PPT system. They are actively changing map caps, you might not notice it the lower tiers but yes they do change it. None of these changes were permanent, more like testing to see how the community responds, I’m sure when they find a REAL solution, they’ll implement it.
The things they haven’t done, is directly influence/decide server match-ups (which is nice knowing that your servers position is entirely player influenced) or the ranking system.
We’ve yet to see what the new WvW BL has to offer, maybe new mechanics that will help the underdog servers, who knows. But Anet hasn’t completely given up on WvW, though I don’t think WvW is really high on their priority list.
Map awareness, most groups have 1 or 2 players dedicated to keeping an eye on the map for the little indicators. Also, moving closer to an objective will bring up it’s progress, so you can see how long its been under siege for. It adds a layer of strategy and organization to the game mode. Having small groups tag objectives and keeping your opponents guessing or spread out or not attacking so you don’t proc the orange swords so when defenders do come, they’re in for a surprise.
Raid UI are a clutter, in GW2, many groups in the higher tiers raid with 40+ members easy, that’s 8+ parties. That’s a lot to keep track of. Players are responsible for themselves, and calling out when they need assistance. This is focuses more community interaction and promotes map awareness, which can translate to higher player skill.
Good map awareness is a skill/trait that you should strive to obtain to be a better player in GW2. Whether in WvW, PvP or (some instances) PvE.

If the player adds you back as a friend, when you hover over their name, you’ll see their Achievement Points, level and profession of active/last player character, and the zone they are currently/last in.
If you’ve added a player and none of those show up when you hover over their name, it means that you’re a stalker. There’s the ‘followers’ tab in the friends list that shows you who has added you as a friend, so you can add them back or just let them stalk you for all eternity.

- Air/Fire/Doom/Intel/Blood/Geomancy/Hydromancy sigils. (Emphasis on air/fire and geo/doom).
How would you balance these? Lower/Higher chance to proc? Longer/shorter cooldowns? Its general amount of damange? Balancing/nerfing these feels like you want to just get rid of crit/ferocity builds.
- Vampirism rune – Made thief easy mode and a class that is most likely able to beat every other match up.
Vamp runes are used to counter high burst classes like the thief, so users had a chance to disengage from an ambush
- Improvisation – The reset on every Utility is just out of line in my opinion, I believe the trait should rather reduce the cooldowns of said Utility by Half. (Removes SOME of the random factor and adds more skill factor to managing your cooldowns.)
If you don’t like it, don’t use it. Personally, I think its fine the way it is, if I don’t like the rng, I go Dag Training or duel skills.
- Shout Warrior – Increadibly easy class, has high impact in solo q as it can pretty much carry a team as it offers aoe condi clears, fury, and a very annoying and pesky person to kill that even coordinated teams take time to take down.
This is a pretty overpowered build. Ya, needs a nerf. But how would you go about doing it? In PvP, skills have different cooldowns from WvW/PvE, do you just increase the cooldowns? Decrease the boon duration?
- Celestial Engineer – It’s gonna be nerfed after patch so I am not too worried about it.
I don’t know about this one, Cele Engi’s and Ele’s are powerful yes, but I don’t think they need a nerf atm.
- Auto Attacks – What I mean by that is no class should have powerful procs on Auto attacks. It frustrates people more than anything to be dropped down from 70% ~ 5% Health by a series of unfortunate procs. (This all related to the procs I mentioned above.)
Sounds like you just hate thieves.
- Update Spinal shivers so that they can only proc if your are using Death shroud skills. Spinal shivers should be a luxury skill, and it is one of the biggest bursts for the Power necros. It is only fair that you offer some sort of counter play to that. My suggestion is to make Spinal shivers proc on any skill in deathshroud. This way people will learn not to ignore necromancers and make sure they are always low on lifeforce. That would NOT remove the 1 shot potential a necro has (after all most of their damage comes from the traits that are for Deathshroud.) Last but not least, would balance downstate and makes it less of an “outplay” to die to someone who is already basically…dead.
I can see this
EU and NA brackets, gotta look to the side menu to find NA though.
thank you
your welcome
Can I claim hacks?
Can I say, lies?
Lols, it looks like this guy got hacked, and the hacker is insta-selling everything in his inventory/bank.
Pipe dream. I don’t think they’ll ever invest that much resource into PvP. Shame too, since the gem of GW2 is its combat system.
I’m just glad they haven’t given up on PvP. *cough WvW *cough
EU and NA brackets, gotta look to the side menu to find NA though.
Oh, and for WvW, just join a WvW guild, as long as you have a L80 anything, they’ll teach you their strategies/comps. Just be okay with getting whatever voice program they’re using, they won’t ever need you to talk, its just easier to tell commands than typing it out.
- You should consider farming lower tiered mats on a lower level toon. When you farm on your L80, 80-90% of the drops will scale up to L80 so you just end up with tier 5 mats. Also consider just mapping, when you map a zone you get 2 pieces of gear scaled to the map’s level, 1 black lion trading item, and 40 mats tiered to the level of that zone.
- Renewed Focus is more for group play, when you’re supporting your party via your virtues. Or if you WvW or PvP, it’ll save you.
- Necro’s have one of the highest health pools in the game, add that to their Deathshroud its like they have 2 health bars. Thieves aren’t as squishy once you master blinds and evades.
- Yes, unless you count the wintersday tools which give you snowflakes
- Zenth skins are unlocked via achievement points, before the wardrobe was added, you could make as many of those skins as you wanted for free to apply, so they transferred the free cost over to the wardrobe system. Black Lion skins are automatically stored into your wardrobe when you receive them, you get one free skin to use without a charge, but all other transmutations will need you to use a charge.
- When you queue up, 30% of the time you’ll be queued with players at your level, so a third of the time you’ll be playing with other noobs. If you don’t want to do that, just hit the second from the
rightleft button to instantly enter a match, they’re usually more casual there. - When rezzing, it’s what ever is faster, if hand rezzing is faster, then do it. If rallying is faster, then rally them. Healing is whatever, if you can and they need it, just do it, no one is going to complain if you heal them, no one is going to complain if you don’t.
- Lols, final mission. When you do do it, come back here and post how it was for you. Take some fireworks with you, to celebrate.
- Ascended gear is only important for fractals. The stat increase isn’t much unless you get all 16 pieces of ascended gear.

Oh there’s Acrobatic Thieves, they’re pretty much in your face the entire time, they have so many dodges that its almost impossible to hit them if they don’t want to be hit.
Thieves in PvE are pretty much “in-your face” but in WvW or PvP they are what you described, in and out of fights chipping away until they get them low enough to burst them down in one go. In PvP or WvW you shouldn’t be committed to any one fight; if you need to bail, then bail because leaving your team outnumbered for 20 secs is worst than keeping 2-3 enemies occupied for 20 secs.
Now that I think about it, Engineers are kind of “in-your face” but with projectiles/ranged. Engineers can tank easily if they’re traited and have enough crowd controls and heals to make up for their low armor. And so most Engineers welcome the fight, unless they’re going full zerk, then they’ll run, but they have mobility too. Tough call.
Guards don’t have mobility. I wouldn’t solo roam on a Guard. Period.
Warrior is a good choice, I’d have told you to go Warrior or Ranger if you didn’t have any experience in this game at all, but you said you did so didn’t. Right now, the meta Warrior build is ShoutBow, but they have plenty of viable variations; HamBow, PS+EA, Mace, Condi, etc. You can go classic GS/Hammer. That’s what makes Warriors so attractive, the sheer number of viable plays you can go with.
No. If Boxer C got dqed after beating Boxer D, that result still stands. He just gets disqualified from his match versus Boxer B, which progresses Boxer B to the finals.
Wrong. You can’t get a title shot if you were scheduled to have a qualifying fight. Just like how Braddock got a title shot against Max Baer after beating Corn Griffin when Griffin’s opponent cancelled.
Griffin didn’t get an auto qualify to fight Baer even though he was the number-two contender.
Braddock went on to beat Baer and win the title.
A “no show” is different from a DQ/disqualification. In boxing, when a boxer doesn’t show up for weigh-in or cancels/drops-out, they just schedule another fight for the fighter, no big deal there are plenty of reasons for fighters to drop-out last minute due to health or weight issues. When a boxer is DQ’ed from a fight, because the boxer was fouling or breaking the rules, the opponent is automatically given the W and moves on if its a tournament/series.
If MC was caught breaking the rules during their match with Salt, then Salt would move on. The thing is, we don’t know if MC was alt’ing for all the matches. And I doubt we’ll ever know.
#GW2 #RealEsportsNow
I have 13 level 80s, you can pretty much faceroll any profession in PvE and win with the right build.
If you’ve played this game a bit, then you should have already figured out that this game is designed so that you can play just about any roll on any of the professions. Instead of looking for the right party/profession composition for dungeons and raids its more about looking for the right player comp, a competent party can just about do anything as well as a nice profession comp.
The meta relies heavily on Warriors, Elementalists, Guardians and Thieves to fill certain rolls though, ie. might stacking, cleansing, boons and stealth. Though, almost all the other professions (except Necromancer) can fill these rolls pretty easily, so long as the player knows what they’re doing.
So just pick a profession you like in PvP and roll with it, you can’t really go wrong, it’s PvE.
Just a little tid-bit:
- Guardians and Necromancers have almost NO mobility when roaming in WvW
- Elementalists and Thieves have the lowest health pool in the game
- You can faceroll Mesmers in PvE and do fine, but don’t try that in PvP or WvW
I’d probably recommend Thief or Engineer, seeing how they have a nice learning curve, you can still faceroll, the have mobility, only a little bit of utility/party support, and they can both AoE stealth (the Mesmer fit what you’re asking too, just with a larger learning curve)

If you want something to show off to people, the only thing to get right now imo would be full radiant/hellfire armor because you’ll need a crap ton of achievement points.
full set of hellfire already… AP isn’t really a bragging right anymore so I don’t put it on at all, I do have 6k permanent AP that I’m proud of and wish I could show off.

Generally speaking, the disqualification of a participant in a tournament after the tournament has concluded does not result in rematches for all games that they played. The matches occurred within tournament rules, and so the results of those matches are valid. The only change is the removal of the said participant from the final results, and all other participants in the tournament are moved up to account for that.

So in Jan/Feb I bought a GW2 account for my little brother when it was on sale. But the account didn’t work when we tried to register it.
We sent in a ticket waited 2-3 weeks. Nothing changed/no response.
So we sent in a ticket to get it refunded. And still no refund.
Do I send in another ticket? Its been 5-6 months now.
It was on sale so I never really cared much about the $10, but my little brother is going on summer break and thought we’d try playing together.
Is there a site or a specific place I can get a response? I still have my ticket numbers from both times. Where do I get more help? Should I just send in a new ticket?
Just curious, what everyone here thinks endgame content entails.
For me, it’s playable content that, when you finished, makes you feel like you’ve really accomplished something. For example, earning the Tequatl and Evolved Jungle Wurm titles when they first came out or getting my Mini Clockheart.
I loved questing/farming Arah for all my tokens for a full set of Arah armor before the PvP-reward tracks cheapened dungeon armor, then again the stacking/speed meta was already doing that, so I can’t really say it was all the PvP-reward track.
I love epic quests that when you completed, you get something that you can show off. Something that other players could respect or admire.
Too much of GW2 is rng or too easy to get. Legendaries are rng or gold base, it doesn’t really show others how amazing you are, except that you have a lot of gold or a lot of free time. Fractal weapons are all rng, I farmed L50 fractals every day for nearly a year and only got 1 skin. Dungeon armors used to be the thing, like a full set of Arah, CoE or even HotW was epic, but alas the speed-meta and especially the PvP-reward track made dungeon armors cheap.
Is there anything in this game that I could do and show off? Is my view of endgame in a MMO not right?
I’m really curious to know what you guys think endgame is.
These days, I avoid PvE and stick strictly to PvP and WvW.
EDIT: I’m seeing a lot of posts, which is always nice, for me EndGame starts when the personal story ends, does it not?

I don’t mind an occasional boss where stacking works
Sounds like its that you don’t mind stacking.
The problem isn’t stacking. Stacking is a viable and (sometimes) necessary TACTIC/STRATEGY that players use.
The problem is that there’s not enough content or new content to practice them in. Dungeons are so old and played through that stacking isn’t a strategy, most players that learn dungeons don’t even know why they stack, they just do it because everyone else does.
Anet just needs to add new content/dungeons for players to play. They used to add dungeons for Living World Season 1, and those were epic fun but alas they were all destroyed.
You shouldn’t ask them to get rid of Stacking (which is impossible, in GW2 and nearly every MMO/RPG out there). But be asking for more content/permanent content/end-game content.
i dont get this what’s their problem. alt accounting is OK.
Took me a while to process this too, its not alt accounting, where players have multiple accounts. This is sharing, where players play for one another in a tournament. It’s like having Kobe Bryant put on a Wizards jersey and play, when he’s not a Wizards player, and they go all the way.
Just qualifying guarantees them a minimum $2500 and a free trip to Cologne. Doesn’t that seem ridiculous when they didn’t earn it themselves? When they straight up, had other players play so they could get that prize money?
Yes, revive a thread 3 months old! 3 months and this hasn’t been solved? Lols, was watching a few twitch streamers who got the stuck in match bug. I’m guessing its a new bug guys, not the same one that occurred 3 months ago
So I’m a bit slow and out of the loop. MC used alts? What exactly does that mean, using alts? Did they have other people play for them? I’m a little lost. Clarify for me please.
When waiting for queue, I’m either checking out YT videos and Twitch streams or browsing the GW2 forums.
What do you guys do?
oh i wanna join too!
make engi kits go on CD if they are chilled D8
also make interrupts force engi’s to drop their kits
There are players that have accidentally turned off red circles, and been playing so long that they don’t know its there. Make sure you have that option on, I don’t even know why it’s an option to toggle.
Those people complaining about PvE in Stronghold, do they consider Dota or LoL pvp? You kill 300+ npc per game with LoL/Dota.
Stronghold is fine.
It’s competitive.
It’s fun.
It’s better than Conquest.
In Dota/LoL, are the minion-NPCs a requirement to take out the turrets? In Stronghold, Gates guarded by NPC guards are your turrets, to bypass them you need NPCs. These minion-like NPCs are now your only access to your Win Condition, kill the lord. There’s more weight to ST minion-NPCs. Where in Dota/LoL, minion-NPCs are basically your source of supply to help upgrade/advance your attacks, which promotes that farming/strategy you see in those MOBAs. Though NPCs in Dota/LoL have a strategic roles, it’s not nearly as heavy as the DBs in ST. In ST, DB is dead, have to disengage immediately and retry because you can’t push anymore. In Dota/LoL minions-dead, still have the initiative so lets keep pushing or we lost the momentum lets retreat. See the difference?
That doesn’t seem right, does WvW cap change from tier to tier? The most I’ve ever stacked was 74, and I know for a fact that wasn’t everyone on the map. Granted this was back in November, they could have dropped the cap since then. But just today, I saw 3 groups from our server tag Orange Swords on guards/towers so that’s gotta be at least 75+ there.
Just report it in game when you see it via /bug
This will record the exploit as the game sees it so the devs have a better sense of what’s happening.
FYI, since the camera angle changes there are new places that you can blink to with mesmers if you have far reaching manipulations on. Mesmers can blink right into some towers and port entire groups in. I’ve reported plenty of times, but you can go and try it out for yourself.
You don’t craft for skins. You craft for stats. There are plenty of non-sellable stats that can only be crafted. So there. FYI, there are 3 armor skins and 1 weapon skin for every tier of crafting (every 10 levels) up to Level 80. At lvl 80 there are a few extra skins you can craft using rare lodestone drops. But the skins don’t differ depending on stats, so if you already have weapons/armor of stats that you want, then don’t worry about crafting.
To sell or not to sell, it all depends on how desperate for gold you are, and there will be times you’ll be desperate.
You won’t find difficult content exploring. Difficult content in this game is dungeons, fractals, WvW and PvP. If all you do is explore, that’s cool, whatever floats your boat, but you won’t need anything but a little bit of spacebar skill for the jumping puzzles.
You’re level 23, when you hit level 80 and ask ‘what do you do now that you’re level 80’ in the forums, you’ll see this thread really blow up.
Your sigils transfer to your deathshroud skills. Which is why just about every DS build uses Sigil of Fire/Air. With the near 100% crit. chance you will constantly proc the sigils for more tags, which equates to more damage, especially if the proc’s also crit. Focus is more of a PvP tool, the chill and boon removal is overpowered in PvP. Use the warhorn, locus swarm before you DS. The 15 hits from locus swarm will get the added crit. chance from your traited DS for more crits and more chances to proc your sigils for more crits. its an endless cycle of crits. in DS.
The item is account bound, meaning you have the convenience of buying the recipe on any of your toons and moving it to a toon that can use it. the actual recipe is character/soulbound and can only be used buy the character that used the item recipe.
