This just happened to me. I’ve done this at least twice before and got the trait. During the defense I killed the Wizard and got instant credit without having to finish the event for my triat.
But today, when I killed the Wizard during the defense, I didn’t receive the trait. But my map failed the event on purpose. Was really lame.
I read up, and apparently now the trait is tied in with the event and not just killing the Wizard, which I believe because I didn’t get my Balthazar and Grenth traits till after the events finished.
Shouldn’t Anet looks down on players that forcibly fail an event in order to achieve a goal. I know the defense on temples get harder after every event, but this Arah wasn’t overly difficult. After Wizard died they all said in map chat to fall back and waypoint away, and everyone did. Then again it was a temple, I’m always asking players not to defend Dwayna. So… I guess this is in the same ball park? I wish they tied the traits to defense and not just offense. That way players aren’t yelling at each other to do or not do the defense of temples. Or other events entirely.
if you have badges of honor, you can buy siege and upgrade them to superior siege.
its about 10-15 silver per skill point, depending on whether your siege is bought via gold or badges.
Its all good, I’ve given up and decided to just buy the gosh darn traits.
Waited nearly 2 hours for Dwayna and Lyssa today. Didn’t get it.
Waited 1 hour for Melandru, but it seemed like it was bugged.
Arah was a joke. Defense came up but after champ and at 2 minutes left, everyone let it fail. I couldn’t get my trait. (I thought trait was for defeating the priest, either it bugged for me or they changed it so you need to kill it in the assault and not the defense)
Managed to do Balthazar though, surprised me. Waited nearly 1.5 hours and finally defense failed, then waited another 30 mins for one of the triggers to spawn. Escorted ‘center’ through. That was fun.
That’s what I’ll be doing, temples for fun. Temples for traits is just a chore and agonizing, not fun at all.
If the problem really is the times I’m playing, then what was the point in merging the servers?
Sorry, I don’t mean to put down the game, I’m just a bit disappointed. Game is still fun. Still want to make a 14th toon, but won’t be doing the trait system. I’ll devote it solely for PvP or something.
(edited by ChoChoBo.6503)
I’d say if you have the money and the skill points.. especially when you have a huge abundance of them, I would just pay for it to save you the headache of waiting to get something.
The thing is, this will be my 13th level 80 toon. I only created him to try out the trait system, since I didn’t try it when it first rolled out.
Buying the traits isn’t a big issue, its just… You know, defeats my whole purpose of making this toon.
I’ve almost completely mapped out the Orr zones, while waiting now. And managed to get Grenth. Once I’ve 100% all 3 zones of Orr, I’ll buy them.
It’s too bad really, was really enjoying the new trait system.
Most events are on a 15-20 min timer, just wait around where the event starts.
You’ll eventually get it. You’ll need to actually research into the events that you need.
The troubling ones are the Temple ones, you can only hope that no one defends the temples, so you can get your trait.
So its been around 2 weeks now since I’ve hit level 80 and I’m going around unlocking traits.
The trouble I’m into now, is that the final traits I need are bounded to Temples.
For 2 weeks now I’ve parked and waited, I’ve managed to get the Arah one, mainly because I can get it through the defense. But the other 5, I can’t. I park at the temple and pray that no one defends it, but for 2 weeks now someone always ends up defending it.
Should I just give up? Buy the trait? A bit of me wants to do the events. But this is darn near impossible to do.
I’ve already bought the traits bounded to Iron Marches Devourer Queen because its always bugged. And the trait bounded to EB’s Grub, because you can’t seem to get enough people to do it, and my server tends to always be Red or Green.
REPORT THEM FOR LFG SYSTEM ABUSE
That’s the very first step.
It happens to me all the time when I lfg for fractals, you go all the way through it to the final boss and suddenly you get booted.
You whisper them and ask them ’What’s up?’ they lie and say they got booted to. So what do you do? You friend them and see that they’re still in the fractal.
Report all of them and be done with it all. Tell them too and let them worry.
For the most part, if you want to 2-man a dungeon or fractal, you need to already be experienced and able to at least be able to 5-man it. Really wouldn’t recommend doing a 2-man/solo otherwise.
Dungeons aren’t as serious business as you might think, for the most part if you look for ‘casual’ or ‘new to’ lfg, you’re not going to be scrutinized like you would if you joined a party that was listed ‘exp’ (experienced).
There are always experienced players willing to carry/teach noobs dungeons, just list for it and you’ll get it. If you don’t try again during a time that more players are on.
But my experienced with 2-man/solo dungeons is this, you get the same rewards as if you where in a full 5-man party but with 5 times the work. It just doesn’t make sense to me. (Coming from a player that’s solo’d just about every dungeon path and fractal just to see if he could)
Though, nothing feels more satisfying than 2-manning or 3-manning a dungeon/fractal and finishing wit the same level of ease as if you were 5-manning it. Makes you feel so beast/OP. Kind of like when you 1v3 in WvW/PvP and just pawn all of them (tbh, its usually more 1v3(up-levels) lols)
FotM are meant to be hard and reserved for the more skilled and experienced players to get together, enjoy and experience.
Daily FotM has flooded lfg with tons of noobs that just don’t know what they are doing and want to be carried throughout.
Don’t get me started on the kitten-kitten knobs that leave the FotM once they get their daily chest. If you’re going to do a FotM daily, at least make them finish the freaking run before they just dash off.
I’m just glad that I’ve made enough friends and contacts before the FotM dailies was added that I don’t have to completely rely on the lfg.
Lesson of the day, LFG is for nubs who want an easy way to good loot, not a tool to find like minded gamers/players and expand the community you play in.
‘19 exp’ ‘9 exp’ what a joke, very rarely will u find one that is actually ‘exp’
If your new to the FotM at least have the courtesy to post ‘new to fotm’ or something along the line like they do for dungeons.
Am I the only one feeling this? If I am, I’ll shut up and find a way to manage.
Rant over.
Its the season for holiday cheer. Let’s be positive and list the things we’re grateful for in Guild Wars 2.
My list personally;
- I’m an avid RPG’er. And the thing that hooked me in GW2 was its lore/stories and LWS season 2 really made me happy
- Its casual style of play. I’m not much of a competitive player in any genre so this non-competitive gaming style really fits me well (though, casual shouldn’t mean easy – stop! got to think positive, don’t derail now. Think happy thoughts!)
- I really like the GW2 community, other games just don’t have a community like GW2.
Since it is the holiday season, how about 1 wish you’d like to see from the GW2/Anet team.
My wish would be to see more ways for guilds to interact with one another (internally and externally) a way to distinguish guilds from one another (like guild titles so I can brag to other people how beast my guild is)
I usually see this bug when we cap’t Garrison while its in the middle of an upgrade.
Ya, this is a common issue. More common now since the Mordremoth events spawn in front of the escort stopping the devouyer from moving while the NPC moves on his own.
I normally report the bug in-game via ‘/bug’ and hope that Anet dev’s can resolve it or close the server down.
I’ve just resorted to buying the trait.
It worked fine for me the other day.
Foulbear is one of the trickier events to trigger. Mainly, due to the fact it has 2 events that can start the chain (Charr and Human assault forces). Combine that with the ~20 min timer its on and people commonly think its bugged when in reality someone triggered the other event first or its still on a ‘cool-down’.
Another common occurrence is that after killing the Foulbear champions, no one revives the NPC you escort so the event doesn’t progress.
I always imagined that at the end of Season 1, instead of killing Scarlet, you would’ve locked her away in some dungeon that we could visit.
Where the story path was a shorten retelling of Season 1. And exploreable paths was specific to Season 1 events to farm previous loot.
Now that Season 2 has been such a hit (in my opinion, of course)
I feel you should somehow throw a Season 1 dungeon in the game, I enjoyed many of the Season 1 events (not so much the lore)
You could say that the Priory was collecting Scarlet artifacts all over Tyria and gathering them in one place (probably some secret Priory lab in Lonar’s) when suddenly one of Scarlet’s invention, an AI hologram of herself, activates and takes control of the lab. The Hologram Scarlet is the boss in story mode, and it recreates Season 1 events/lore through her memory chip. And the explorable paths are up to your imagination.
Its been over 2 years now Anet, and not one new dungeon (excluding the event dungeons like SAB). How long ago did you add Aether path? If not a LWS Season 1 dungeon, then something/anything would be nice.
kitten , I feels.
But to be fair, Anet has said before that Dungeons/Fractals are independent from patches/builds. Meaning you can finish your dungeon/fractal without having to worry about getting the patch. It was just a bit of bad luck that a member of your group d/c’d.
Though, I don’t get why you didn’t get any rewards.
T3 NA
It’s only the first week so its hard to really have a real sense of how things are.
But for me, when I first read the Sneak Attack event, I was excited, “Finally, a chance to hit the larger servers!”
My excitement was washed away in the first weekend. It feels like the ‘no white swords’ punishes the smaller populated WvW servers. We either don’t have enough people scouting/defending our BL or we have too many and not enough people applying pressure elsewhere.
I might be a little optimistic in thinking that Sneak Attack was devised for smaller/lower-tiered servers. And it just backed fired.
If, later, I find out that Sneak Attack was intentionally devised solely for karma trains in the top-tiered severs…
I’ll rage.
If you want to look up the daily-log-in rewards, the gw2 wiki was updated a little whiles ago.
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Login_rewards
I hope they do let us reopen it in game though.
Its just nice to know that the event works, even if its rarely.
Though I really hope that whatever is bugging it gets fixed. Anet developers please figure it all out (if you’re reading this ;p)
According to ANet, /shrug who knows, if you get them to talk about anything tell me how please.
According to the community and GWSCR as of now I don’t believe so.
Kewls, tbh, I’ve used it a few times. Just hope i don’t get banned for it :p
If you need that trait I highly recommend that you buy it. It is too difficult to find an un-bugged map
I might have to do that, I really didn’t want to buy any traits on this toon, since I made him just to play with the trait system.
I’ll buy it, if after getting all the other traits and I still can’t get a map with it not bugged.
Thanks for responding guys
This looks eerily similar to a popular build. You should check out this video:
Its virtually the same concept, he puts on ‘Cleansing Ire’ instead of ‘Merciless Hammer’ but he’s able to dish out tons of dmg. He also has a new version of the build, that’s more into dmg than condi/control.
Sigils on dual-wielding characters affect the character the same way 2 sigils on two-handed weapons work.
Also 1-handed weapons have a lower power/attack than 2-handed weapons so that when you wield two 1-handed weapons, its not unbalanced against players who use 2-handed weapons. (the stats of 2 1-handed weapons add up, they don’t work individually)
Question: Is wall-aiming with MS to target smaller area not consider glitching/exploiting?
Has anyone been able to do this event chain in Iron Marches? It is the champion in the ‘Kill the Branded devourer queen’ Level 59. The chain starts with ‘Protect Sentinel Whiptail while he finds and tames a siege devourer’ Level 56.
To be ridiculously honest, ever since the megaserver update, I’ve never found a map that wasn’t bugged.
I’ve reported the instance numerous times in the forums and in-game via /bug
I check about twice a day, when I play (which is around 15 hours/week)
And not once have I found a map where this event isn’t bugged.
I’m curious to see if anyone has been able to successfully complete this event since the megaserver rolled out.
I’ll admit the tonics and weapon skins are pretty useless, all they do is take up space.
I just farm the gifts and sell them whole. It makes a decent profit, since there’s really nothing to special about the loot inside of them.
But over all, I don’t mind the loot quantity vs quality they have in Guild Wars 2. When I pick up trash, I throw them into the toilet for a chance of something better.
If I want quality loot, I farm dungeons for dungeon gear or fractals for their higher chance of ascended loot.
If your asking for new gear, there’s the living world story you can do for its new armor. And the Anet team seems to be coming out with new outfits ever month or so.
It just sounds like you’re dissatisfied with the RNG system, but every MMO I’ve ever played used a similar RNG system.
I don’t think there is anything wrong with the system Guild Wars 2 has now, but the actual obtainable rewards themselves for the Winters’ Day festival aren’t that great. What is there? A new mini, new title and a bunch of old rewards from the previous Winter’s Days (which isn’t so bad for the new players just started playing and for old players that didn’t get them last year)
Winters’ Day is one of those repeatable content that’s for new players that haven’t experienced them before and for old players that missed out on them. I mean SAB and Mad King’s Festival are also content that they reuse from time to time. Its not something you should get angry about, it gives developers time to work on new content (have a little faith, LWS 2 has blown my mind compared to LWS 1, it gives me hope)
If your really desperate to level to 80, then go ahead and craft it.
But its normally just easier/cheaper by running around exploring (grabbing waypoints, poi’s and vistas) you can skip most of the hearts and events. Because just discovering them will net you exp.
I recently got to lvl 80 in 3 days, all I did was unlock traits via the trait system. I only needed to unlock 34/65 of them (that’s a lil more than 50% of your traits)
2 Engi’s, my second engi was for cosplay.
2 War’s, one for PvE and one for WvW (tired of retraiting)
2 thieves, one for PvE and one for WvW (really tired of retraiting)
I have 1 of every other profession though, might make a 2nd Ele (one staff, one d/d)
I’m not sure about the whole ‘registering the daily’ and waiting. I’m sure Anet will find a way for you to do the dailies again even if its giving you extra loot/achievement points.
As for Laurels though, they’ll be rewarded via the new Daily-Log-in system. I’m assuming only specific days will award you with laurels (ie Day 4 will give you 4 laurels (don’t quote me there))
And on the last day (Day 28) of the Daily-log-in, you’ll get the option to pick a Chest of Laurels. I’m assuming this is a replacement for the 10 laurels we would normally get via monthlies (they even said there would be more laurels than the monthlies in this chest)
So I don’t think you should worry too much about the laurels.
Check out the GW2 Wiki definition of support
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Support
There really wasn’t a class/build that could fit the classic Healer role in GW2.
If you use the wiki’s idea of support then:
Necromancers and Thieves that are traited for AoE blinds are good support.
Then there are the classes that can buff/boon really well, like the Guardian, (Shout)-Warrior, and Elementalist.
If you really want to think outside the box, there is always the CC (Crowd Control) builds, which can be extremely helpful in boss/champion fights. Removing defiance then interrupting big moves, it is really nice for when you’re up against GL in Arah.
I think the only real healer would be the Elementalist, just for the water fields. I mean just about every class can apply an AoE regeneration boon to the party with a trait or two, and more with a rune/sigil. OH! Wells with a Necromancer can be traited for Protection and Regeneration, so it helps the party tank really well.
Good Luck
Turn of all player names in options, then hold L-Ctrl to show all player names. It’s not a toggle but it works well. (I only have team/ally player names off and keep enemy names on, this allows me to constantly keep an eye on my enemy/targets (especially in WvW) and I occasionally hit/hold the l-ctrl to see where my allies are) But a toggle would be nice.
They’re a part of the Jumping Puzzle there. As you progress in the puzzle, you unlock milestones/checkpoints that you can tunnel back to if you fall down. The more you pay, the further the tunnel goes into the jumping puzzle (only as far as you’ve unlocked yourself for that day)
So I created a new Norn Warrior and leveled him by only unlocking traits.
To get my Norn Warrior to 80, I only needed to unlock 34/65 traits. That’s around 52% of total traits.
For some reason I feels unsatisfied with this amount of progress. I think, ideally, if one was to play a character and reached level 80, he should have a bit to show for his/her growth in the game.
I’m all for having traits needed to be unlocked after I hit 80, I see it as more end-game content that I can enjoy.
It is just that about 50% of my skills are still locked at level 80. I don’t know if I feel underwhelmed by my progress for hitting 80 or overwhelmed with the sheer amount of progress I still need before I can enjoy a fully leveled character?
But don’t get me wrong, I did enjoy the trait system as I was doing it, for the most part. The only complaint I’d say, why are the traits so far apart in terms of proximity? They just don’t flow well together, maybe I was just doing them in the wrong order or something. If that’s the case, maybe a suggestion should pop up after you unlock a trait to tell you where the next/closet trait is.
This trait system is a great idea, but poorly executed.
I just got my toon to level 70 and trying to unlock my traits. But there’s no flow to the traits. I have to go all over the map and breaking my rhythm.
Is it too much to ask for Anet to bind traits to multiple zones and events? That way while I’m unlocking and exploring all of Ascalon, Shiverpeaks, or Maguuma I can unlock my traits with more of a flow.
To be honest, I just don’t know about this trait system. I like the idea of doing all these events to unlock my trait. But at the same time, it makes all the work I spent exploring zones I feel less satisfying.
I may just buy the traits.
I’ve originally got hooked with Guildwars 2 from the story/lore. And Season 2 has reinvigorated my obsession with Guildwars 2.
But what kept me around was the exploration and small party/group events.
I enjoyed exploring Tyria with a handful of friends. Discovering explore able mini-dungeons, defeating world bosses and forming a close knit of friends that I call guild-mates.
And now, it feels like every new content is driven by this, ’let’s take 75+ players and complete the events’ and with the mega-server and world bosses on set timers, I won’t ever be able to enjoy taking down a world boss like I used to, with my friends.
I wouldn’t be sulking so much if there was new content that I could do with just 5-10 friends. I mean, the party system is maxed at 5 players. So why aren’t there as many events that require that many players?
I want dungeons to have a individual rank system for how well each player does in the dungeon based on the amount of physical damage dealt, condi. dmg, hp recovered in combat, amounts of boons applied, etc.
the thing about dungeons is that they aren’t difficult/challenging anymore. Adding a rank system where players tried to consistently get a higher rank/score would add a new challenge to the dungeon while keeping the difficulty the same.
you could give out more rewards for higher scores, and have an over party score/rank that rewards even more loot to the entire party.
if that isn’t something that you’d like. then how about just adding achievements for each dungeon like you do for TA Aether?
this is pretty much the meta-dungeon thief build. it’s all about the dps for a thief in a dungeon. good lucks.
I guess…
Halloween wasn’t really fun last year. I doubt it’ll entertain me for long.
ArcheAge is going live tomorrow, maybe I’ll give that a shot.
Come back in November for the LWS.
I’ve been playing Guildwars 2 for a little of a year now.
I have 10 level 80 characters. Level 44 fractals. Ranked 500+ in WvW. And a Doylak in PvP. 10k+ Achievement Points. 28 different titles.
I feel like I’ve done just about everything you can in the game.
Is there anything left to do? I get that there’s a few new Hearts and the new collectors achievemnets. But realistically, AP farming isn’t something that can hold my attention anymore.
Currently, I only log in to do dailies and run inventive contests for my guild.
No negative comments about how horrible GW2 is. I have a ton of gripes with the game, but I believe there are 1000 things more positive than negative with GW2. And want to focus on the good, while i still can.
A good solution for the megaserver problem would be adding a district system like gw1 had.
EU has 1 megaserver but with a seperate district for each world.
NA has 1 megaserver but with a seperate district for each world.
I think its already like that.
Megaserver and a WvW (district) for each server. All they need to really do, is make the Citadel more appealing for players to hang-out in. Maybe move the Mystic Forge out of Garrison so its always available 24/7. Increase the population size for the ‘home’ server on their borderland.
From the wiki (http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Stealth)
“Hostile NPCs will stop attacking if their target goes in stealth, although they will not lose their accumulated aggro towards the target and the stealthed character won’t immediately break away from combat.”
But, this doesn’t normally apply to ranged opponents. Its not just CM NPC’s go into WvW, those scouts hit you hard even after u stealth away. This may have something to do with ‘accumulated aggro’. But its something that I’ve lived with for the past year. I’ve noticed a while ago, that ranged NPC’s tend to target players with lower armor/toughness so I wait for another player to hit them first or avoid them altogether while focusing on melee targets.
Stealth is only 1 tool in the thief’s bag-of-tricks, when one fails, use another. I combine stealth, shadow-stepping and the many evasion skills to deal with the NPC’s that see through my stealth. Its great practice for PvP too, so I don’t mind it much.
I was mapping Diessa Plateau and was asked to voluntarily move because the map i was in was closing down. So I moved.
Less than 3 steps in the new map, I was asked again to voluntarily move. So I moved.
Again, three gathering nodes later, I’m asked to move again. This time I wait till my buff runs out. Then I moved.
And… you guessed it. I was asked to voluntarily move a fourth time, moments after I joined this new map.
This is the 2nd map that this has happened to me. The first map was Sparkfly Fen, but I understood because it was right after Teq. Understandable.
But the 2nd time, it was Diessa Plateau. Next time, I think I will be staying on the map, having to continuously move really ruins the flow of mapping.
Suggestion. Don’t ask players to voluntarily move when the map is closed, wait till you find a proper map/stable map to move players to.
Ok time for a third topic.
Guild Halls.
I see this subject come up a lot in this thread and while we can talk about other aspects of Guild Halls at some point, let’s try another exercise.
What are the 3 top QOL features you think Guild Halls could provide that maybe couldn’t exist otherwise? Try not to list features that are beyond QOL, but I won’t hold it against you because its hard to do.
I’m out for the day hiking at Mt. Rainier but will try and return with my own top three later this weekend.
If you think about this question, it is really hard. Everything I want Guild Halls for, I can already do in-game now. It just takes a lot of effort on my part.
1. A meeting place. I already meet in a predetermined area with my guild, but it has to be in a city because I need a spot for all my guild to enter (no level restrictions in the cities). And during the weekends, we’re more likely to be split. It could take up to 10-15 mins to taxi everyone in. We meet up on a regular base to share boons such as banners, trays of food and bonfires, so being in the same instance helps.
2. A way to show pride/unity as a guild. Roughly, 50% of my guild has guild kites, and during guild events we just pop them up and strut like the bosses we are. (60+ active members here :p) Showing our unity to new recruits is the ultimate feeling you can have as a guild. A Guild Hall does just that.
Personally, I’d be content with being able to invite more than my party into a home instance. Maybe a squad gets the prompt to enter the home instance.
Because Guilds Halls aren’t so much for QOL, you could charge gems for them. All the Guild Hall upgrades could also be bought via gems (if you don’t want to do an influence thing) to make the hall more custom.
Proposal Overview
Allows players from XX server only guild option and Server tag
Goal of Proposal
With the mega-server system, the possibility of spies exist. Though I do believe it is every WvW guild’s responsibilty to weed these spies out
A option to only allow players into your guild from your server would be extremely helpful to WvW guilds
And guilds who click this option should have a Server tag next to their guild tag, this allows other WvW guilds/players know that your guild is strictly XX-server for WvW
Proposal Functionality
It should be an option in the rank tab that you can click. Or! possibly an ‘Art of War’ research that guilds can strive for and guilds that don’t need that research just don’t have to research it.
The Server Tag doesn’t have to be [Server] next to your guild tag, but an asterisk or something similar that is only visible to your team/server.
Associated Risks
Proposal Overview
Guild Calendar next to the guild message of the day
Goal of Proposal
Many guilds have their own websites that they manage, where they have a calendar. However, an in-game calendar would keep players in game than on a third-party platform. And be more available to players for guild events.
Proposal Functionality
It would show side-to-side with the guild message of the day.
Have two view options, a month-view (grid/cell view) that players can click on different days to see what event is happening and a week-view (horizontal/column view) that shows any events happening that week.
Associated Risks
Smaller Guild Message of the Day window/box.
Proposal Overview
This has probably already been mentioned, but Guild Commander tags with a duration period.
Goal of Proposal
Allows guilds to tag up for guild missions or other guild events for a period of time, maybe 2 hrs?
The cost of commander tags is utterly ridiculous for players who only tag up once-twice/week for guild missions
A short/duration commander tag bought with influence makes more sense.
Make them only visible to guild members.
This also helps with WvW guilds who don’t want pugs ruining guild raids in WvW
Proposal Functionality
Buy 5 Guild Commander Tags for XXXX influence. In the Art of War research.
High ranked guild members may activate one at a time through the guild window
Only visible for 2 hrs after activation
Associated Risks
None I can see. Guilds will research/build more in Art of War. This won’t affect players not associated with the active guild. Maybe lag from invisible commander tags?
I see a lot of talk about alliances. Two questions on that front:
1) What functionality would you like to get out of an alliance?
2) What makes you want alliances?I’ll try to answer them myself.
1) Ability to play content that is made for larger guilds. Ability to connect some of my guilds and have them be able to chat together without the commitment of being in the same guild.
2) My guild is small and there is not enough content for small guilds. I think we could make more small guild content too which would help alleviate the need for alliances.
I don’t see a need for smaller guilds in PvE to create alliances in order to complete larger guild events. With the mega-server, if you’re a small guild you can just taxi into an active guild mission and tag along with other guilds for the merits/commendations.
I feel alliances are needed for WvW. Before the mega-server, we could just pop into LA or DR and ask for help from our home servers whenever there was an enemy force in our borderlands. With alliances, WvW guilds can link to other guilds of the same server and with an alliance chat, mass message players to help out in WvW to defend a borderland. I really just want a way to connect with other players from my ‘home’ server when it comes to WvW. I think weaker/smaller WvW servers would benefit more from an alliance function the most, in my humble and honest opinion.
Proposal Overview
Make Guild Puzzles into instances.
Goal of Proposal
Many of the time Guild Puzzles are already active and you have multiple guilds waiting and end up entering together, where only one guild does anything and other guilds are simply along for the ride. (This mainly occurs during the weekends when guild commendations reset and the most members are active during the same time)
The other day, my guild tagged along and were peeved and extremely vocal about the failure of the ‘active’ guild doing the puzzle. It shames me, that it was my guild being rude but I understand the frustration. It is extremely rare for my guild to get together to do an event, like a Guild Mission, and time being an issue for my guild-mates. We prefer not having to wait 15-20 mins for another guild and not even sure that we’ll be the first guild in the next round.
Proposal Functionality
I think a simple prompt for any guild member(s) in the zone (not instance/server/IP) to enter a Guild Puzzle when activated by the guild in question.
Associated Risks
Creating entirely new instances may be problematic.
And this may beg the question, “why all the other Guild Missions aren’t instances?”
I believe that the other Guild Missions aren’t effected as much by the mega-server, in fact, the mega-server has helped with completing some of the other missions.
Proposal Overview
Turning Activities, like Sanctum Sprint and Keg Brawl into Guild Events
Goal of Proposal
Allowing Guilds to challenge one another in these activities offers a form of GvG in PvE
Proposal Functionality
Pretty much make these activities into instances that are opened via Guild window and created via guild influence and merits.
When activated, members in the guild(s) are given a prompt and guild members enter, when both sides reach an agreement and click a ready button, the activity activates
(I would also like to be put into instances with my party if you don’t make this into a guild activity, that way I can race my friends or whoop them in different activities)
Associated Risks
Large Guilds with active members will have a hard time because most of these activities are limited to 10v10 or less.
Doesn’t seem to be limited to just Inquest Golems.
WvWvW/EotM. Asuran Golem elite skill also does way more damage than I remember them ever able to. Was hit once for 24K and another time for 22K.
