Can’t say I didn’t see this coming. When there was commotion about Dhuumfire being OP, I said Terror and Burning together was too much damage. Looks like Arena and the community agreed. With the recent batch of tweaks, I feel like I actually have a fighting chance against mediocre Necros that were just unloading all of their abilities as fast as possible without thinking. I’m also extremely happy that I can block marks since not every Necro feels the need to take that trait now.

Yes Engis have the same trait, but they don’t have Terror or Torment. Torment is no joke. I’d like to see Engis get Torment one day to make them equal in terms of condition application.

Can we change Adrenal Health's function?

Good suggestion but I think Adrenal Health works nicely as it is. It’s one of the few really good minor traits.

The best way to supplement Adrenal Health is to have traits that increase your Adrenaline flow. Cleansing Ire, Sharpened Axes, Furious, Berserkers Might, and Burst Mastery. In PvP I use Cleansing Ire, Furious, and Berserker’s Stance, and I regain my Adrenaline very quickly.

The function of AH is fine. The function of Berserkers Power/Heightened Focus is not fine.

New Arms or Defense Trait

I still suggest adding ways to mitigate damage through our weapon choices. Blocks, dazes, stuns, and evade tweaks would be helpful with reduced cool downs.

Example:

Shield Stance
Block attacks while channeling.
Duration 3 seconds. Cool down 30 seconds (24 if traited).

Suggestion:

Shield Stance (classified as a stance)
Block attacks while channeling and move at a reduced speed.
Duration 4 seconds (5 seconds with sure-footed). Cool down 20 seconds (18 if traited).

Why a shorter cooldown and longer duration? Overpowered right? Well you’re not really doing damage, merely eliminating incoming damage and you are moving at a reduced rate which is the draw back. It doesn’t provide stability so you can still be feared and pulled from mesmers and if it helped I am sure they could negotiate either AoE knocked downs, knocked backs or even blowout abilities to bypass the shield that would normally require stability.

If you also look at the main hand mace I think it’s a great defensive weapon if the block was also a 2 second channel and didn’t retaliate when it took a hit but granted adrenaline like usual.

Options like this to allow a block, a 1-2 second daze/stun, a blind, or evades will stop incoming damage temporarily. This way we don’t have to get Aegis or Protection boons and homogenize with the guardian class.

I’m jealous that I didn’t think of that idea first. Shield Stance should be affected by Stance traits (duration, vigor). Yes, that is a brilliant idea. Only problem is that Sure-Footed (stance duration) is in the same trait line as Shield Mastery and Cleansing Ire.

Imagine blowing your dodges, putting up shield block and proccing Vigor. By the time shield block is over you should have a dodge up.

Your build has nothing really new in this changes… healing signet?, with that healing power you have you are not getting anything from that or adrenal health.

Adrenal Health scales with Healing Power now. Why does he have to use everything new? Sometimes one change is all it takes to make a build that was not usable into something viable!

I like it. I was experimenting with it before the addition of Torment, and was having success with it. I’m using Defektives Sword/Shield + Longbro build, but using Sword/Sword instead. I pick up Missile Deflection instead of the Shield Mastery trait. The block is very good against projectiles, and on a short cool down. I’m still playing around with amulet choices but Carrion and Berserker are my two choices. I like Carrion because your burning, bleeding, and torment will do respectable damage, and you can still maintain ~800 auto attack, 4k+ Final Thrust, and 3k+ Rip. I’m using Rampager jewel and Runes of Lyssa to try and boost my crit chance. I’ll make a template of the build/runes/sigils after work.

Most players don’t expect the torment, or don’t realize how much damage it is doing to them, but it is very important to land Imaple to get the damage rolling.

Who uses arcing slice? Damage output is not good, and fury is easy to attain on the warrior. If you move it to main bar it’ll get used more, but it will definitely need some work. The animation takes too long, and it misses a lot. Not viable for pvp, or pve.

The animation is the biggest downfall. It’ll never be feasible regardless of how it’s changed until it gets ironed out. If it ever does, I think it’d be interesting if arcing slice did something other than give adrenaline. Maybe give it some retaliation or have it apply some confusion.

Cleansing Ire, Building Momentum + one hit burst skill = profit. Pve wise as well, saved me alot during lupis, shaman.

i do admit that the damage isn’t that great, but the fury sure is good as an additional effect, fury is not that easy to attain by warrior tbh, for 18 seconds we dont have fury, more when you dont have signet cd-20%, only if you run fgj sor build..which probably no one uses in tpvp. and the additional fury is great to fill that gap since now most of the pvp builds dont need to sit on adrenaline.

Gonna have to disagree here. If you’re in PvE and you use burst for arcing slice, you just lost what is it ~15% dps until adrenaline fills back up. Great justice, and elite will about keep you perma in fury considering if you have 1 other warrior or any other class that can apply fury.

In PvP, it’s just awful xD

Ladies and Gentlemen I present to you the bane of the Warrior class. Berserker’s Power. A trait so powerful that it’s not worth using any of your burst skills to maintain a flat 15% damage increase. Not even Eviscerate. Sure i’ll press less buttons and do more damge, why not? That’s good trait design. Not. Move 100b to burst and Warriors will just start auto attacking to do max damage. OH WAIT THEY ALREADY DO! Sorry it just makes me mad that this is what Warriors have become in PvE. Which is a shame because Warrior has come a long way in PvP.

On topic. Rush needs to be more like Charge/Intervene from WoW. Shorter distance, but faster. Not quite as fast as Bulls Charge, but faster than the current Rush. Simply running away and you can avoid the damage from Rush. The animation just takes too long, and sometimes it bugs out and you become a sitting duck.

Right now i’m using Defektives build, but with Sword/Sword + LB, and it’s a blast in Hots. I’m experimenting with Carrion amulet (Power/Vit/Cond), Lyssa Runes (for more precision, condi duration, and 6pc bonus). I use Missile Deflection for Riposte. If you use Riposte and cancel the block by using another ability mid cast (Imaple, Savage Leap, swap weapons) you can still reflect projectiles while using other attacks. The reflect actually lasts longer this way, but you won’t be able to block the next physical attack. Riposte is on a nice short CD, and works wonderfully with Missile Deflection, even if it’s not intended to work this way.

I think Torment is very strong for Warrior to have, because most classes will try to kite you like their life depends on it, but it is in fact killing them. Plus you can apply it from range with Impale, so I really like this change. I’m having fun with S/S and don’t see the need for any changes right now, since we just got a nice one.

I think it’s safe to say 2 of the biggest complaints about WvW are:

“I’m tired of getting facerolled when our outnumbered server faces one that is stacked”
“I’m tired of playing the same kittening servers every week”

Once you fix the first, you fix the second. This really isn’t that difficult to fix either through server merges, and it’s been done with success in other MMOs that have faced the same issue. That, or incentivizing players to move to lower pop servers would help, but I see the exact opposite of that going on right now. When it costs an arm and a leg to move off your server, everyone digs in their heels. I don’t blame them.

I’m not sure why people are saying constructive and feasible suggestions haven’t been provided – I’m not the only one who’s said this. The fact that this could get done relatively easily and it hasn’t been yet tells me it’s not high on ANet’s priority list, nor will it be so long as they’re getting revenue in other ways.

This is my problem with WvW, why I burned out so early in the game, and why I have a hard time getting back into it. There needs to be a cap preventing the borderlands from becoming so one sided. Give the dominating server a que that won’t let new people in until the other 2 teams have more players. This would also alleviate the problem of server stacking. After that happens? You will play new servers more frequently, and the matches wont be one sided.

I decided to play WvW for the first time today in many months. My guild is on FA. We wen’t around trying to get back our home borderland, but JQ just out numbers us horribly. There are just too many invaders. It’s hard to form a strategy against a server that has 3x the coverage. Back in the day you could gank Orbs of Power and possibly have a chance as the last placed server. But unfortunately we’re stuck with Outnumbered, which doesn’t help you one bit when you’re getting rolled.

I really miss doing DEs in Cursed Shore and Malchors.. Sadly the timers have been nerfed and event trash has been buffed. CS is nearly a ghost town on my server. What server are you on that has people doing DEs. Most of my guild are just doing dungeons/fractals/wvw.

An out manned buff would be nice. The chances of winning a 4 vs 5 are extremely low. Even with a 15% buff to all stats you would be at a disadvantage. This holds true for hotjoin as well.

I like the idea of not losing much rating when losing while down a man. I can’t get myself to solo que for this very reason. The odds are not in your favor.

Imagine how the PvP guys feel. Achievement chests come out, and they have a chance to get gold, gems, and even free PvP gear. What’s the problem? You barely get any achievements for PvP. Rank 50 players running around with 2k achievement points. Meanwhile over the last 2 months I didn’t do any Daily PvE achievements, so my AP progress basically stalled. I went out of my way to complete hard to get achievements. I focused on AP for dungeons, JPs, WvW, PvP, and got a legendary, but didn’t always do my daily. Captain Potato Head over here just logged on to do his daily every day and accumulated way more AP than me.

AP system is jut not good, and it’s not something I would even take seriously if it wasn’t for the chests with fancy new loot. Look at this guy with super high achieveos, he must be good! Nope just did his daily every day since beta!

Toning down particle effects is in the works. I’m hoping the game will run a little smoother after that. Updating my ATI drivers. and going from a 20mbps to 30mbps connection has boosted my performance, and made the game run smoother for me.

Endure Pain: Good or Bad?

Endure Pain is very good for anticipating burst. getting a stomp when low on health, rezzing an ally while taking hits, getting caught in a bad position, breaking stun, and for buying time.

Get caught in Mesmer Focus 5? Endure Pain. Mesmer wastes all of his clones and does no damage.

Ranger pet goes stealth? Endure Pain. You just mitigated a boat load of damage.

Rifle Engi comes running up on you? Endure Pain. His burst combo just failed and now you can rip him up like a piece of paper.

Thief backstab incoming? Guardian burst? Ele combo? Ele has huge burst right now. Nades and Tool Kit? Well of Suffering and Life Blast crits? Bulls Charge, 100b, Evis (I almost feel bad for this one)? Ranger Longow 5 into Rapid Fire? Immoblized with inc Treb? Svanir gank and run?

Yes it’s situational, but so are most utilities in this game. It works for my build. I have multiple ways to deal with conditions and direct burst, while also doing good damage. I think Endure Pain is a winner, but the very short duration feels like it’s not enough some times. Some people prefer Fear Me, but it’s mitigated by Blind and Stability. Facing a lot of Condi Cleave? Swap in SoS and you’re good to go.

I feel your pain Fakeblood. Warrior only having F1 really limits us. Imagine if we had what any other class had for F2, F3, and F4 or DS 1-5. We would be beasts. There could be so many interesting ways to spend Adrenaline.

Well, this thread is completely pointless.

the legendaries don’t add THAT many particles to the game. People use them all the time in WvW. If your computer can’t handle a legandary weapon particle in a 5v5 setting, maybe it’s time for you to upgrade your Windows 95.

That said, this is why we can’t have nice things. We finally get some real prizes to aim for in pvp and all we get is a QQ thread like this. Absolutely pathetic.

I agree with you man. Some people on these forums are just miserable. They will never be satisfied with any amount of changes. It’s easy to spot the repeat offenders. Any thread that pops up, they chime in with their negativity.

Best 1 vs 1 class? Mesmer, Thief or ???

I think every class has very good 1 v 1 potential. I think Thief and Warrior are the least forgiving, but can be the most rewarding. Very rarely do I see good 1 v 1 Guardians, or 1 v 1 Warriors. I’ve beaten extremely good Mesmers with my Warrior in a fair fight. Nobody is unbeatable. I hate fighting good Eles the most. I think it’s because I haven’t played it much, and don’t have all of the abilities figured out. Once I learned Mesmer, I was practically able to predict what every other Mesmer was going to do.

My conclusion. Once you become more experienced and learn what every class does, then you can 1v1 with anything. I reject the stigma that Thief and Mesmer are the best 1 v 1 classes.

I read through a bit of the first page, and considering the replies, I thought I’d add my viewpoint as a long time Thief player and almost 700 hour Mesmer player.

The reason Necromancers are being viewed as OP is because the addition of burning along with the other buffs. No, it’s not because more people are playing Necro, not because they’re being noticed, or anything like that. It’s because the combination of Burning and Terror (fear damage) is deadly.

Let’s start from the top. Necro pre patch (I had been trying it off and on for a month or two) was, in my opinion, in no need of more condition damage. They were very well off in that respect. They didn’t need much more CC, but more helps. They had very serious condition damage that couldn’t be blown off. What I’m trying to say is that they had competitive condition damage. But they did need sustain.

Now? They got a bit of their sustain, and the most damaging condition in the game. Not to mention yet another damaging condition as well (which is fine!). The problem here is not Terror. It is not Fear. It is not CC. It is Dhuumfire.

The addition of this single trait made you guys monsters. There was a reason this same trait was nerfed on Engis. You can keep burn up almost permanently. Now add this to your already competitive condition damage, and it’s way too much. Sure, you can argue that to take this trait and terror, you give up your tankiness. But with this trait and terror, you don’t need armor. Your enemies are CC’d too long and damaged too much to scratch you before they go down.

I might be a bit biased on these viewpoints, as I only have 100 or so hours in Necromancer, but there’s only one right answer to this dilemma: Remove burning. Replace Dhuumfire with a torment trait of the same flavor, then we can work from there.

Not to mention the buff to Weakness. We’re doing a ton more damage, and we picked up some nice survivability without changing anything through the Weakness buff. We also have Spectral Wall, which gives us Protection ( doesn’t cancel when going into DS anymore), more Fear, and keeps threatening melee enemies at a distance.

For me its hard to say if burning alone is what is making us OP, we did get a lot of nice changes. But it is definitely a very strong condi.

One thing I like about Necro is that there are so many different specs being played. Even Condimancers have variety. But there is one thing you can expect from every type of Necro. They’re slower then hell. It would be extremely tough fighting 5 Minionmancers. You better hope you have tons of aoe.

We’ve all thought at one time or another how much better it would be if Boons and Condis were easier to see. It doesn’t help that Boons all have the same color icon. This makes it very difficult to see what Boon you or your enemy has without actually having to focus in on every individual Boon. If every Boon had a different color icon, you would be able to pay better attention to the combat.

Example. I’m a Necro that wants to Fear this Warrior. I notice a green icon pop up. I know this means he has Stability without taking my eye off the Warrior, so I wait on my Fear.

This applies to Conditions as well. Some give off special screen effects, such as blind and chill. But you have no idea how many stacks of bleed you have unless you’ve got 20/20 vision and can watch the combat and see all your Boons and Condis perfectly fine. For me? I have to squint and glance at my Condis. I could be missing a very important ability tell during this time.

I’d also like to suggest having Boons on one side of the UI health bar, and Conditions on the other. I’m sure ANET experimented with this at one time, and resulted in what we have now, but just in case, I threw it out there.

I believe a change like this would also make the game more watchable from a spectator point of view. It’s extremely hard to watch a stream and decipher which Boons/Condis the player has.

Why is Dhuumfire OP?

So, let’s take a look on the patch changes:
- Terror moved to Master tier
- Dhuumfire added
- Torment added
- Spectral Wall now fears your opponent
- Doom now fears for 1.5s

Those are pretty much the changes which affect the current Necro FotM build.
One, two or three of them are too much.

As you can see, Terror damage was untouched. The only thing which can increase the Terror damage is that half a second on Doom, which doesn’t really matter that much since it was counterbalanced by the Sigil of Paralyzation change.

Spectral Wall is avoidable by any non-braindead player, as any other line skills.

Dhuumfire isn’t the problem, as people are pointing out here.

Torment are only 3 stacks, whose damage is equivalent to 5 bleeds at best.

So, the “real” buff to fear/terror is the .3 duration coming from Doom at close range.
That’s the incredibly powerful and gamebreaking buff that made Terror so OP.

None of those are an issue alone. Anything OP that has existed in the past, has been OP because of multiple abilities working together. Dhuumfire is about 4k damage over 6 seconds every 10 seconds. If you get feared twice during the burn duration. You’re looking to add another 3k damage at the least. You’ll probably have bleeding and poison on you as well. Dhuumfire and Terror together would be very strong even without Torment.

You also add in the fact that Necros need to spec 30 into Spite to get Dhuumfire, so now they have some oomph on top of their normal attacks. Life Blast and Life Transfer doing decent damage. Flesh Golem auto hitting for over 1k and has a knockdown. Tainted Shackles also does ok damage without including Torment, with the potential to immobilize. These give Necro a ton of pressure while being able to avoid damage through CC and other mechanics.( knockdown, fear, immobilize, blind, DS, weakness).

I recently picked up my Necro again after refusing to play it since the buffs. It’s almost sickening how strong it is going for a mostly offensive build. Spectral Wall is not so easily avoided. In certain lighting it’s kitten near invisible. Especially with so many particle effects floating around. It also gives Necros a viable means to escape. Drop it on point in a 4v4 aoe fight, and it has the potential to do tons of damage, all the while causing your opponents to lose control of movement.

Dhuumfire and Terror both need to be tuned just a little. It’s just too much damage.

I’m using Defektives build with OH Sword instead of Shield. Using Missile Deflection instead of Shield CD reduction. The Sword does not cancel after one ranged attack, so you can reflect all of a Rapid Fire or Unload. You can also cancel the block animation and do something else and you can still deflect projectiles. I just haven’t decided if I like Berserker amulet or Carrion amulet better.

I agree Burr. I wish the game had more skill shots. I was watching a short vid on Wildstar combat, and I like the aiming that abilities require. Same with TERA.

Example. Heartseeker basically homes on your target. You want to dodge roll through a Thief and split the other direction? Too bad, his HS knows exactly where you are even though he doesn’t. You can’t run from that. That is what I consider a no skill ability.

What if the Thief actually had to aim that Heartseeker? Suddenly your dodge roll is more meaningful, and you can escape the HS spam while Mr. Thief tries to find you.
What if it worked this way for Unload? You have to actually aim to get those shots to hit. Eviscerate? Life Blast? Bulls Charge?

There are a few skills that require “aiming” already. Fire Grab and Engi pistol #5 Flamethrower. They have are high damage abilities that also have a chance to miss. Needs more of this.

I think GW2 could use more ground targeting and reticle/cursor aiming. I believe that is the future of MMO combat.

I remember playing condi Necro before the patch. You throw on a couple bleeds, and wait for them to get cleansed, then you unleashed everything you could. Now? Just Staff 2+3+5, Scepter 2+5+3, DS 3+5, Fear just before the Immob. During this time you probably did about 5k burn damage during your button spam. One opponent should be nearly dead, and other enemies are half in the bag because most of this is AoE.

I stopped playing Necro with the new changes, because it is just too mindless right now. That’s not fun to me. So now I play Warrior. Pop Zerker Stance, and go ape on a Necro for 8s, and hope I can kill him.

I’d like to add that I think health pools and healing should be raised across the board. EU or NA, doesn’t matter, doing as much damage as you possibly can seems to be the narrative. Offensive Stats > Defensive Stats.

I think if Marks were redesigned some of these issues would disappear. Currently every Necro takes Greater Marks, which makes Necro marks much larger, and makes them unblockable. What if marks were made larger baseline, something in between the huge Greater Marks trait, and in between the very small baseline marks. Then every Necro would not need to take Greater Marks, and we would have less unblockable marks being laid down. A Necro might have to think twice about dropping that Putrid Mark on a Warrior using Shield Block, instead of just spamming every ability they have.

Also burning is just too strong for every class IMO.

How I fixed my FPS Issues

Hello everyone. I’m not having FPS issues per say, but sometimes the game responds slow for me. There are times i’ll have to hit an ability twice because it didn’t go off the first time. I also get weapon swap and ability lag, where they take a little longer to execute then they should. I really have no idea how what is happening to cause this. I’ve tried running with Vsync on and off, increasing and decreasing video settings, and checking for viruses, malware, etc. My FPS doesn’t feel like it’s dropping when these issues occur. Does anyone have any insight on this?

I think Skyhammer would have been fine with some more tuning. Overpowered cannon that cannot be dodged? You can dodge Treb shots, so I don’t understand this. It has such a short recharge too. Maybe a little too much glass on the floor?

When Rush connects, it’s great, sadly it misses a lot for me. Sometimes the pathing is so strange it almost makes me laugh. I wish it was a little faster and had a 1 sec daze at the end. Warrior could really use another gap closer utility. I think changing Stomp into a ground targeted aoe would really help us. Think Heroic Leap from WoW. I’d take Swoop or Guardians leap over Rush any day.

Looks fun, but Healing Signet isn’t very good with Zerker amulet. I only use it with a regen build. Adrenal Health, Healing Signet, and Banner regen are all very good when used together. I’d take Healing Surge.

I personally think the change is really good for warriors. Here is a short explanation from an older thread:

Currently the sustain would be ok if the warrior would be able to constantly hit the opponent. This doesn’t happen though since they are being kited until they die. Why? Because the condition removal also relies on hitting your opponent. So what happens is this:

Warrior attacks opponent
=> enemy starts kiting
=> warrior can’t hit opponent
=> warrior wants to use condition removal traits but can’t
=> warrior still can’t hit opponent
=> traits for sustain don’t work because of that
=> warrior dies
=> enemy is happy

If you make the condition removal traits less reliant on hitting your opponent this is what happens:

Warrior attacks opponent
=> enemy starts kiting
=> warrior can’t hit opponent
=> warrior uses condition removal traits
=> warrior hits opponent
=> traits for sustain work
=> warrior hits opponent even more
=> warrior wins

If the sustain still isn’t enough after changing the condition removal traits we could talk about buffs for that as well.

Replace condition removal traits with the buffed Berserker Stance and you get the basic idea.

I agree this is how Cleansing Ire should work. It works this way for Longbow, and it’s not considered over powered. The only problem is it only works this way for 1 weapon. I can’t count how many times I’ve cleared condis with Longbow, then switched to my GS or Axe and the condis start piling up because I can’t land my burst. I’m then forced back into LB to survive. By the time I catch my opponent, use my burst, miss, switch weapons, and use LB burst, it’s already too late.

Im guessing this is an spvp change? Berserker stance is crap everywhere else so doubling is length means nothing.

I doubt you’d have a use for it in PvE, but might be useful in WvW. It’s more for sPvP where Condi Cleave will wreck your day every time. I’ll be using it just for the reduced condi duration, but gaining adrenaline is an extremely nice bonus. Better adrenaline gain helps me with Healing Surge, Cleansing Ire, and Adrenal Health.

We need a Boon that reduces condi duration by x amount for a limited duration. I think adding it to protection might make it too strong, but a reduction of conditions by 25%-33% for 5 seconds is definitely needed. Warrior Berserker Stance reduces all conditions by 100% for 4 seconds. Unfortunately it’s on a 60 second cd. Once those 4 seconds are up, those conditions will pile right back up. Engineer Automated Response reduces condition duration by 100% when you fall below 25% hp. I think this is a great trait, but unfortunately you have to dedicate a full 30 points to pick it up.

Right now verses a Necromancer, I can have all the condi removal in the world, change my tactics, dodge whatever I can, but still end up getting eaten alive. Doesn’t matter if I have Melandru runes, Cleansing Ire, Signet of Stamina, Stability, Mending, and Endure Pain. I liked the idea of Necro burning being applied every 5th attack and only lasting 2-3 seconds. Burning does too much damage from RNG traits like Dhuumfire and Incendiary Powder.

I like your suggestion for Banners. They should have some way to remove conditions. Banners have been buffed a lot, and I would like to use them, but they just aren’t there yet.

I agree that sometimes burst Warriors can really catch you off guard. The problem I find is that if you cannot finish your opponent quickly, you are screwed. There is no resetting fights or buying time in the way that Mesmer and Thieves can. Usually when burst Warriors get the drop on me, I’ll drop below 50% very fast, but I still manage to come out on top. They’re still very easily kited. If Cleansing Ire cleared condis without requiring your burst to land, and when Berserker Stance and Warrior healing gets a buff, things might be different. I personally run a sustain build. I can win most 1 v 1s, but there are still very good players with certain classes that I can’t beat.

I find having more than one banner to be a chore. I use Disc banner with Inspiring Battle Standard trait, and Empower Allies.

Sword burst and Final Thrust are both way too slow for my taste. But yeah, Unsuspecting Foe is a great compliment to Final Thrust.

I play main hand dagger Necro in spvp. I used it in tournaments and I had pretty good success up until a certain point. This was pre patch. I’d imagine Powermancer is a little stronger now. Condimancers are all the rage right now, but a D/D Necro can still hold their own. Yes off hand dagger is a condition weapon, but it provides very good utility. Unfortunately life stealing for Necromancer is very weak. You don’t receive any healing while in Death Shroud, which really puts a damper on things.

Also I’’m not sure what some of you guys are on about. The devs communicate with us rather well, and the game is more balanced than it has been in the past. Maybe i’m just a fan boi, but I enjoy the game, and I think it has evolved nicely since beta. You can’t expect dramatic changes with the snap of a finger.

So what do you do in your employment at arenanet?

No the devs don’t communicate with us well, its called not at all, zero zip.
Dramatic changes at a snap of the fingers? the video is over a year old.

Will it take 4-5 years to give the warrior on par survivability? 7-8? 100? we dont know as we have heard zero, zip, nothing post patch.

I swing my sword (and wait for the broken animation), I swing my sword again (and wait for the broken animation), guess what? thats not fun.

I like the game despite its faults, if they fix the bad game play I might even be able to get my guild to come back. Something is wrong when highend hardcore pvp/rvr guilds just laugh and leave.

Perhaps you’ve been living under a rock so I will enlighten you. Every month we get a video stream hosted by a community member named Grouch. It’s called “State of the Game” which features at least 1 dev. They answer all types of questions, probably even some questions that you would like answered. I’ve only played a hand full of MMOs and some other games, but I have never seen developers actually communicate with the community as well as Arena Net does. Maybe what they talk about is not what you want to hear, but it’s communication nonetheless. They also let us know that they see our suggestions and complaints on the forums, and care about what we have to say. They just recently announced their team will be working on content patches with turn around times of 2 weeks. What am I missing here?

I’m aware that video is over a year old. There have been many patches and balance changes since this video. Yes it has it taken some time to get Warrior into a competitive place, but Warrior is in a very good spot now. I’m confident we will see real viability shortly. They know our #1 problem is sustainability. In the last State of the Game they mentioned some ways they will help u with this issue.

I don’t know which high-end PvP guilds are laughing and leaving the game. You might not know this, but the community plays almost equally important part as the developers do in growing and maintaining a strong community. These high-end players sound very low-class. Yes there are bugs in the game, and some quirks during combat, but I have faith they’ll be ironed out. Nothing worth throwing a fit over.

Lol this is pretty funny, I was going to respond with a long explanation of things, but it’s clear you don’t have any idea of how the warrior class performs in Any type of pvp or WvW, with all the teleport, evasion, blind, and condie spam.

Did you watch the last state of the game? Please enlighten me on what communication you saw about the warrior. I saw devs tryi g to completely ignore the class as they were embarassed, and move on.

Warrior in a good spot eh? To look at a 15 page thread in the SPVP forums called class rank list. You will see the warrior at THE BOTTOM for every post for the last 8 months. It’s embarrassing what this profession has become. You would think the devs would at least bump us up Into viable tier BY ACCIDENT.

This profession as of now feels like it doesn’t even belong in this game, with the long slow telegraphed attacks, and the terrible pathing on our gap closers, that completely miss 80% of the time.

What’s clear is you, Lighter, and Dooger are just flat out whiners who have no desire to improve on their own, and they would rather join the circle – jerk. What game type do you play? I looked up the 3 of you on the leader boards to see if any of you played tpvp, but I found nothing. Hoelbrak runes, Cleansing Ire, Signet of Stamina, and Berserker Stance are all great ways to deal with the condition meta. Contrary to what you may believe, Warrior does have condition removal. If you’re not using Longbow with Cleansing Ire, you should reconsider. If you’re still using Bulls Charge + Frenzy + 100b, then yes, it will miss 80% of the time. Running full offensive build relying on that one maneuver is going to get you no where. There are some players that have builds around here that do work, and they can be personalized to work even better for YOU.
