Alright guys, looking for a little help. I’m looking for a combo similar to Elite Labyrinthine for Monks in GW1. Most people who played Guild Wars knows what I’m talking about. The usual set-up, Laby dyed black with Chaos Gloves and a good Dread Mask to top it off. I rolled an Ele Norn for the tattoos, so here’s what she looks like in the buff.

Right now, there’s not much to work with it seems in-game, but I haven’t checked all the armors out piece-by-piece yet either. Hoping you guys that have been playing longer than myself can help me out a bit. I want to be able to have the tattoos showing, which ANet did an outstanding job with covering up practically all potentially matching sets from what I can see on the Wiki.

Thanks guys.

If NCsoft was upset at the generalization of Asian culture in the Canthan expansion with GW1 and didn’t want to see this happen in GW2, then why did they make Aion, which is a generalization of pseudo-euro/christian beliefs? Not to mention its not like they did it only to Asian culture, they also did it to African/Arabian, and European culture, in fact there was an expansion in the works for GW1 that would have done the same thing with Incan/Aztec/Mayan culture (Utopia). Do they really expect Anet to individually separate, copy and implement entire cultural aspects of specific Asian peoples? I just don’t understand their motive in telling Anet to stay away from anything resembling Asian influence. It couldn’t be racially motivated because it just doesn’t make any sense. Unless what Josh previously suggested is the case (previous producer at the time requested it, and it happened and now he might be gone for “reasons”) in which case, I must say that producer is a resounding bookah for letting his personal feelings effect project success and possible financial return.

In bold.

My guess is that they probably caught some flack in the first game due to mixing S.Korean/Chinese/Japanese cultures into one big melting pot.

Korea, China, and Japan all have major issues with each other. While stationed in Yokosuka, Japan, we were always told not to talk about China or S.Korea with Japanese Civilians. Basically, they all dislike ( putting it lightly ) each other because of past war crimes, namely in WWII.

Screw the history lesson; Google please.

Is there some reason cast bars are not viable? Is it a UI issue or the fact that skills go to fast, and/or the lack of a global c/d make it overly spammable or unviable?

that being said are global c/ds considered bad for some reason? I’d feel like it’d be a pain in PvE but would it not give a bit more play against the more spammy natrue of certain combos for PvP?

What are the design intentions regaurding these two, and why have they been deterred from being implemented?

I wish there were castbars like in GW. I think it’d help a little for Mesmers wanting to play rupts like in GW1. But even with a castbar, causing an interrupt wouldn’t be too big of an issue because in a few more seconds, they can recast the same skill. I’d like to see increased CD’s on interrupted skills for Mesmers, personally.

Hi there !

As we all see this few days/weeks(/months ?), a lot a forums posts in this section are about the meta (conditions, necros, rangers, etc, etc), and they almost all agree to say that there is a problem, a big HUGE problem. People keep saying that the sPvP is NOT enjoyable anymore, and I agree with them.

BUT STILL, Anet doesn’t give a kitten and we’re not even aware if they read all this. We need MORE backup, and we need to know WHAT IS GOING ON. Don’t keep wasting our time with your silence, if you’re not gonna change anything soon, SAY IT so we can leave this crap.

Thanks.

PS : Sorry for my mistakes i’m not english.

I’m 99% sure that ANet cares. I think it’s flat-out stupid and disrespectful to even insinuate otherwise. All through Guild Wars 1, they kept up with the community, balanced at minimum, once a month ( unless a huge gimmick showed it’s ugly head in GvG ), stomped exploits, provided support, chatted in-game with the players, and from what I gathered over the years, kept everyone pretty darn happy.

Why won’t they comment? They already have, they’ve said it what, twice now? They’ll balance after PAX or whatever the darn tournament is to avoid a major shift in the meta. The meta sucks, yes, we all know this from the past 100 threads like this one. If you don’t like it, no one’s forcing you to play. Quit for a month, and come back. It will be different by then, I’m 99% sure. It just requires that thing called “patience”, something you 90’s kids don’t have for kitten.

Very wise words, Sir…Before you tell us has no patience, please let us know how long as the game been out?How long did it take to develop this game? Hw long for the Beta Test. After all that, yet the current state of the game is still horrible, bugs still there, imbalance class pop up here and there after EVERY patch, still only one Conquest Mode after that long. I believe we already give them enough patience for the whole year. Sure we can wait for another months, though, how you so sure thins will get change for the BETTER,then come here and tell us don’t have patience? You thnk so highly of yourself. I expect more from an old man such as you.Modest it seems what you are lacing ATM. I sure you can use some right now.

Every other class is same, easy to play just as much passive skills.

You can learn almost any build on any class in under 1-2 day’s by end of the week as long your smart/good player be good at the class. It’s not hard.

Spirit’s really aren’t that passive if you think about it, just Spirit ranger has 3 extra skills he can use. Also when I play spirit ranger I’m always looking at the placement of my Spirit’s and where to use there Active skill.

Most player’s are dumb (aka Ele’s) they charge right into the point where ranger shines the most in point fighting, you charge in we proc our 1 1/2 second cast skill on our spirit’s you land in the insanely long cast time spirit then you skill them take 2x the damage from the on death trait. To top it off we pet swap cast our F2 followed with weapon swap with Geomancy Sigil’s followed by combo chain of skills KNOWING this guy is about to get wasted as they playing 100% to my tactic’s.

Then that play comes to the forum’s make a post Spirit Ranger are OP and take no skill to play. When frankly we get beaten all the time in 1v1, we have extremely hard time in team fight’s keeping our spirit’s alive against a good team (AKA A SMART PLAYER). The you try and say we have stupidly to much passive play when its very limit amount of PASSIVE play.

Do any of you know how long a Wolf lasts in a team fight, not very long most of the time they get burst down so fast its not funny. THERE GOES ALL OUR CONDITION REMOVE. Then you get smart player like Engi that throws 2-3 sets of nade’s on our spirit’s there goes our Spirit’s, we recast them and they do same thing, 50 second wait till we have any type of Spirit back up.

Then we cast our Elite, we goto use it to res, and A GOOD PLAYER interrupts it putting it on CD, there goes our condition wipe/res, then they quickly in few seconds stack that spirit with 25 bleeds and every condition under the stun and NECRO EPPY’s the spirit, wiping your own team.

But Spirit’s are OP. Most of you just QQ cause everyone else does, let’s say well respected top player turns around say’s this how you counter Spirit ranger’s and there not OP and hard class to play. BOOM you sheep follow what he say’s and turn around find new class to call OP.

Allot player’s hate me, mainly cause what I say is the truth.

I agree. I think the main issue is the fact that people just make bad plays, and because of their own inability at a correct one, they come here and complain about a build that’s in the meta.

All meta builds will be OP to a person who doesn’t know what they’re doing. I also think it’s due to people going full DPS with lack of support skills aside from Guardians. Then complaining about a Ranger who’s passively supporting his entire team and mopping the floor with them at the cost of utilities that are needed ( generally ) by every other class/build that’s hoping to be competitive.

As a ranger main forced into spirit ranger, stun wars if played right win every time No stun breaker is the one thing they left out of spirits. Maybe they need to add a spirit with stun break?

Take out Winter ( whatever the blue one is ). It’s the least useful in my opinion ( 10% more damage, 35% chance ). Unless it’s integral to the build, or buffed from traits, you could probably put in a stun breaker for better effect, even at the cost of combined added damage from you and your party. It’s all about that survival.

Mezmer confusion stacking combos overpowered

Confusion is Empathy and Backfire rolled into one Condition for Guild Wars 2. Mesmer’s in Guild Wars were ( and still are to some extent ) a class built to penalize a play that a player made, ie Empathy/Backfire and a plethora of other skills. Not only could they shut-down a player for a short period of time, but they could further punish them by interrupting skills as they were being cast ( often times it included damage or Energy loss ).

I’m going to assume you didn’t play a Mesmer in Guild Wars, otherwise you’d understand that not much has changed in Guild Wars 2. While their interrupts aren’t nearly as prevalent as in the first game, their primary role is still the same in PvE or PvP; shutting their enemies down long enough to kill them, or laughing as they killed themselves.

TL;DR= It’s their job.

I think the time it takes to rank up is fine. In GW1 less than 10 people hit max Fame Dragon Rank 15 and they dedicated over 5 years to get it. What I don’t appreciate is the fact that people can rank up in Hotjoin win or lose. I believe you should have only been able to rank up in tournament play AND only gain rank points when you win. Only the truly sPvP dedicated should hit the higher ranks.

I watch all of the live streams and SotG and no point have they ever mentioned Rank Progression. They only talk about the rewards in general. I think they are specifically referring to items and gear that can be used outside of the HotM and sPvP in general.

And even less for max Gladiator title. Matter of fact, I don’t think anyone maxed Gladiator. Highest I’ve ever seen was r10. I think the “Rank” system in this game is fine. I said it in another thread earlier, but PvP Titles/Rank isn’t something you just get in a week, month, or a year. It’s not something for casual players, it’s for those that are going to stick around for awhile, if not the long-haul. It’s these players that deserve it, not someone who plays 1-hour a day farming nodes through matches.

If this bothers you, then you should probably look elsewhere if the way PvP is handled here irritates you. It’s probably not going to change, and I hope it doesn’t.

Did you even read my post before responding? Doesn’t appear that you did….. You even bolded where I said " I think the time it takes to rank up is fine". If anything maybe you should be the one to look elsewhere, it doesn’t appear you’re adding anything here. I don’t think people should be able to gain Rank in Hotjoin Period. I believe rank should be a prestige tPvP Incentive Only.

Gladiator in GW1? Who gives a flying kitten about the RA title? Are you high? The only meaningful PvP Titles are the Champion and Fame Titles. Gladiator titles in GW1 are about as impressive as Legendary Weapons in GW2 (meaning they aren’t impressive at all).

You took that what I wrote in a way I didn’t expect. I was pointing that out to the OP, more so than someone else who believed the ranking was fine along with myself. It’s nice to know that people will automatically assume one is always trying to patronize or come off as aggressive. I bolded the important part to expand.

And yes, I agree that Glad wasn’t “ranked” as highly as GvG and HA Titles. Regardless, it took a long time to get, and while based on luck, ( or a good sync ) was still impressive near the 7 year mark. It was nice to see players who stuck with it through the years.

For those that don’t know, RA ( Random Arenas ) was the equivalent of HotJoin+Team Death Match-nodes with it’s own exclusive Title track. Well, not really exclusive, as you could gain points for Gladiator through Team Arenas, but they did away with that.

Problem is that in GW1 those ranks were only achievable by actually good players, since winning in a row rewarded incresingly more points. In GW2 thats not the case. Everyone gets points rewarded of skill. And that is not right by any means.

Which is why I think this node nonsense should be done away with. It’s being abused, and makes Ranks mean absolutely nothing.

Hello,
haven’t played GW2 for some time, didin’t follow any news. So here’s my question :
Is there going to be added some tipe of ‘arena 2vs2/3vs3’ mode anytime soon? If that would happen I’m preatty sure many GW2 pvpers would be satisfied.

Nope, ex-wow players would be satisfied

We had tons of gamemodes in GW1, I hope they will take some from there before starting to copy other formats.

Infact, I am an ex-wow player, but are you saying GW2 pvpers do not want arena type of pvp ? That’s what I understood from you.

If you are writing the wow formats I know you can’t imagine better gamemodes, which gw1 had a great variety of.

Indeed, we need a deathmatch, but not a 2v2 3v3.

4v4 or 5v5 with some secondary objective maybe.

I actually disagree and I didn’t come from wow, I came from gw1 as well. With no dedicated healer 4v4s and 5v5s would be too much in terms of dps in a deathmatch environment.

Too much in the current meta. Once this cluster-kitten is behind us, and the new skills thrown our way, it could happen. And I for one, hope it does.

Based on how high the other achievement requirements are, you would probably have to use a ram for an entire year straight of pressing 1 against an infinite HP gate to unlock it…

Titles, especially PvP Titles aren’t meant to be completed in a week, month, or even a year. It didn’t in GW1, nor does it in GW2. For that, I’m thankful. Titles ( PvP ) are meant to be long and drawn out. In a way, it also measures the amount of time you’ve invested in whatever it is you’re doing, such as WvWvW.

Want a great example? Check out “Gladiator” from Guild Wars. I’ve never heard of anyone during the entire length of Guild Wars maxing it. The absolute highest I’ve ever seen in-game was an r10, and that was nearly three years ago.

Point is, if people insta-got Titles for everything they do, it leaves less incentive to keep doing something.

Contract with ArenaNet to make a PvP tutorial

in PvP

Posted by: Copestetic.5174

Copestetic.5174

The tutorial would be difficult to change and update for every profession with meta shifts.

Gw1 had archives and wiki’s about specific builds players used for different various things. As a build got nerfed, or out dated it was moved to obsolete category. It was designed by players, for players and was administered by players. This is the best you could hope for.

This is also something that happened over the course of nearly 8 years as well. Guild Wars 2 is still relatively young. It took a good amount of time for PvX wiki to get up and running too. I suspect that in the coming months there will be a stronger PvP community, and something similar will be on the Wiki like, PvX2 or something.

There’s changes on the horizon, we all know it. Once the rewards are revamped, more skills are added, weapons for more classes, and some skills reworked ( or completely SPLIT from PvE ), I expect the community to get a little bit more organized, and bigger. Then, we might see something like PvX be worked on, as there would be a reason to do so. Currently, I don’t think there’s any real reason to bother with it right now. There’s just not enough build diversity in the current meta. Even going outside of that, there’s not enough to warrant something like PvX.

Ok, from what I see the biggest problem is people crave for the points, so best thing you can do is not being a point-hoe.

This is very sad, if your team plays as a team you won it already. If everyone goes his own way you can’t do a thing. Let them focus that guardian and cry a little.

This, this, this. This is by far, the best point that can be said about PvP within GW2 ( or any team-based game ). It’s a shame people don’t realize that, and try to play GW2 like a Call of Duty game: On a team, but not on a team, trying to push-out the most kills.

All that’s rather irrelevant in my opinion. I wasn’t looking to insult anyone, just asking a question.

As far as his response goes; I think he’s right in a way. We don’t know how long it’s going to be before another balancing patch will hit. I think for those that are tired of the current meta, they need to start re-evaluating current builds, skills, and traits and start coming up with a hard counter-meta for sPvP. To make it easier, someone’s already mentioned a particularly good counter for condition Necro’s, and that’s a Stun-lock Warrior.

That’s obviously just one idea, but the tools are there in-game. Surely those that are still around from GvG, HA, and RA from Guild Wars can figure something out until the anticipated balance patch hits. Even with the limited skills in GW2, we have enough to make a meta, and to counter it forming our own balance. I think it’s just easier to come here, to the forums, and complain about it hoping the Devs will listen and do it for them while possibly getting a buff to their own classes, whatever they may be.

To reiterate what was said in some random 1vs1 thread here: This is a team-based game. Guild Wars was team-based, and so is this one. Even without defined support roles such as healer and protter, there’s still lots of condition removal, heals, prots, and just about everything GW1 had. If you’re running a build with 0 team support skills, you are wrong. Whether it’s SoloQ, TeamQ, WvW, or hot joining, it doesn’t matter unless you’re a solo roamer in WvW.

TL;DR version:

Condition meta is nothing new to the history of Guild Wars. It was a semi-popular build there as well in high-end GvG and was relatively short lived in favor of balanced teams. While some skills were toned down, the overall counter was adapting and prepping for it which, is exactly what people don’t do in GW2.

I think they should add PvP-unique skins that can only be acquired through s/tPvP.

They should also do something similar with WvW. WvW-unique skins that can only be acquired through WvW.

In the original Guild Wars there were a few items that were unique to PvP-only. To be honest, I don’t even know if there’s anything even like that for PvP characters, as I haven’t checked. I’m guessing not though. They also had all PvE armor, including Chaos Gloves, you could acquire for your PvP only characters.

Why they’ve chosen this weird separating thing from PvP and PvE is something I don’t fully understand. As, again, in the original, you could go PvP in your PvE gear.

You can’t use your cool PvE armor/weapons that you’ve spent hours grinding for-because it’s PvP.

You can’t use any trinkets that you’ve spent your time farming for other than an Amulet-because it’s PvP.

All the money you have invested in cosmetics don’t carry over to the Mists-because it’s PvP.

You make crap for gold-because it’s PvP.

Sounds kind of crappy, doesn’t it? Here’s where the logic of all that fails pretty hard: In PvP, you have access to all PvE Skills ( aside from Racials ) to play with. Because, God forbid they separate the one thing that could lead to imbalance.

Gimmick in GW1 was generally a one-trick pony. A build ( or team build ) that was OP if ( Note that “if” please ) all conditions were met that the build required for it to work. Of course, as always, a balanced build/team build should prevail in the long run.

It stays a team build. I never said “get rid of conquest give us only 1v1” holy kitten. Let people play the way they want, that’s what a good game IS, is options, it wouldn’t effect you in the slightest if others could play how they like to play. I guarantee you a little more 1v1 balance would help even 5v5 conquest.

Besides, it’s not JUST a team game. I’ts an “MMO” and mmo meants massively and multiplayer. 1 person would be playing with a LOT of others 1v1 or 2v2 as they continue quing. They’d still end up playing with more players than someone leveling up then soloing all the story mode and living story stuff. Stop fighting it, more is good for the game, and any type of “balance” is better than no balance. They don’t even have to go out of their way since there is always good 1v1 builds for everyone. Like I’ve said, if it doesn’t fit your liking, then just stay out of it all together, it won’t effect your favorite stand in a circle and get AoE bombed to death “pvp”.

Check the arena list. There’s always a 1vs1 custom arena. I’ve been asked to leave a few matches that weren’t even named as such.

Actually, i don’t think any class should be able to apply permanent poison just by auto-attacking. Maybe necros, because they are meant to be condition masters but the condition should be timed to counter heals and not be spammed.

This does not mean that i’m against giving warriors any way to apply poison. It should be hard to access, however, as condi specs are already in a pretty good shape.

I agree. Warrior isn’t meant to just spam conditions. Bleeding, check. Stun, check. Knockdown, check. Cripple, check. That’s everything they need to pressure, interrupt, KD, and snare.

The Sword’s Autoattack ‘3’ should poison for 4 seconds. Although it doesn’t make much sense (maybe the warrior put poison on his sword for fun?) It would bring the swords condition damage up a little bit.

Horrible idea! Poison?! Clearly you meant Firestorm. OP combo, even in GW1…

Can we get a flat-out team deathmatch? I enjoyed Team Arenas in GW1 until they gave the players the ultimate slap in the face scrapping it, ( along with Hero Battles no one cared about that one though ) for Codex Arena.

I support this. As it stands, PvP offers nothing for new and veteran players of PvE other than a quick match or two to test it out or doing a Daily Achievement. The biggest issue for me, is the fact it completely segregates PvE from PvP. Like I mentioned earlier, I may not be the best player, but I want to look like I am while getting pwned in my PvE gear!

More incentives to get people to join the PvP scene whether casually or hardcore, is what is needed. I’m not even a part of it, but I want to be. But as it stands, there’s just not enough reason to do so currently. It’s a shame too, as I bet there’s a lot of people like myself that missed out on PvP ( other than RA/FA/JQ ) in GW1, and were hoping to jump into it in 2. Sadly though, until a “few” things are fixed, done away with, or revamped, I just don’t see the community growing past those that are hardcore about it. To those that are, respect.

I have no clue why they cut-off practically everything in PvE/PvP. Have they ever came out and said why?

I find it completely dumb ( sorry ) that everything you work for in PvE or PvP is completely irrelevant to the other part of the game. My major gripe is that I can’t run around in my PvE armor in PvP. I might be nub, but I want to look like a pro.

They made levelling in this game super quick so you could level doing the same things you do at top level, eg wvw or quests or spvp or groups events or whatever. It’s not designed around gear grind. It’s just a different type of game to wow etc. Sorry you don’t like it.

This is pretty much it. Leveling is easy, getting some purtty armor is pretty easy. Just like in GW1, and I’m thankful it stayed the same. You can however, bet that there will be more armors introduced later on that will be more “grindy” than what’s currently in the game.

Gw2 endgame pve content:

1. Make a legendary weapon.
2. ….that’s it.

If you don’t wvw, spvp, or rp, there is nothing to do once you hit 80. You could do fractals but it’s ithe same thing over and over, so boring.

Pretty much the same thing from GW1. End-game=get your Obby Armor, Chaos Gloves, and <insert random rare weapon set>.

How’d you do it? By running Fissure of Woe, Underworld, and Domain of Anguish. It’s nothing new. You hit cap relatively fast ( could hit it in 6-7 hours in 1 ), then start your title/gear grind. Guild Wars in a nutshell.

Hold R and L click same time to run forward.

Warrior is the underdog class in pve and spvp? Could have fooled my 4 warriors.

So your suggestions are for them to dumb down the controls which are already quite simplistic so you don’t have to learn how to not accidentally mash incorrect keys? You want to play with 1 hand it sounds like. The day someone can play this game with 1 hand…. Well that will just have meant they ruined all the skill-base for me and I will leave.

I suggest changing move/ strafe to wasd. Change 6-0 to shift+1-6. Change profession skills to q e r t. Change auto run to g. Put target next and target nearest on your mouse. Disable the checkbox that makes you run into mobs.

All in Bold.

1. No point in getting into that here. It’s my opinion as well as many others that Warrior is definitely the underdog in this game for sPvP. Please refer to those forums for all the reasons listed, then check out the one million QQ threads about them in the Warrior section. I personally try to stay away from such topics, and already regret inputting my comment about them in my original post. But Warrior’s are not nearly as good as their GW1 counterparts due to gameplay mechanics, skills, and the current Meta.

2. Not “dumb down the controls”. Implementing what was in the previous game. There’s a lot of things that the original Guild Wars did perfectly. With Guild Wars 2, they’ve reworked or completely done away with many, many things that doesn’t make sense. You know the whole “If it ain’t broken, don’t fix it” thing.

3. You couldn’t just play with one hand as you say. You still had to strafe, move the camera, re-position, etc. I’m going to assume you didn’t play the original, otherwise you’d know that. Sure, didn’t have to so much in PvE other than getting out of AoE, but in Arenas, you most certainly did. It kept you close to your target.

"Auto-Approach" and Click-to-move.

Pretty much in the thread title. I don’t know about everyone else, but I seriously miss the “auto-approach” feature GW1 had. I don’t mind WASD’ing around all day, but playing a Warrior, it gets kinda’ hectic constantly moving the camera, re-positioning the toon, strafing, dodging, using a skill while trying to strafe…etc. You all get it. It’d make life as the underdog a little bit better in PvE and PvP.

And to “Click-to-move”, It’s click-to-move. Why isn’t such a basic thing already in the game? I seriously thought my left clicker on my mouse was broken the first hour I was playing. Yes, it took me that long to figure that out.

I hope there’s some support behind this, as if you’re coming from GW1 like myself, these two small things make so much of a difference it’s unreal. While I get a nice work-out with ole’ lefty during my playtime, I frequently resort back to my old left-handed “tactics” ( pinky-index on 1, 2, 3, 4, thumb on “C” key or on Spacebar ) which, obviously doesn’t do much other than me whiffing on my skills. As far as the whole clicking gig goes, it’s easier ( for me ) to get out of AoE or anything really, instead of:

“OMG I’m going to die, getting hit by AoE and two other mobs aggroed! Time to run! OMGWTF! I can’t run through this dude because of that darn check-box feature I clicked and I’m still in AoE, okay, okay, I got this, time to hit W+D.”

And…this is usually the outcome of my poor example: "OhWTF? I quit for a few hours! I got out of the AoE, around the boss, then accidentally “dodged” back into it getting KD’d and died."

I know there’s been talks about more movement features mentioned, but I’ve yet to see either of these two specific…uh, topics (?) talked about. Anyways, I’m done. You may now call me different variations of “noob” and tell me I need to “L2P”.

Have fun.

I think ANet is going to have to give out more incentives to get PvE’ers into PvP. Not only incentives, but some balancing as well, which I suppose could be an incentive too, so that was redundant.

Your experience idea was a good one, as in GW1, you gained exp from kills. It would help perma-PvP’ers out when and if, they decide to go to PvE with their toon. And also the other way around, as the exp would help PvE’ers level a little faster while taking breaks from the events, quests etc.

A big one for me personally, is why PvE armor doesn’t carry over to PvP. The only reason I see them not doing it, is to get people to either buy, or re-buy skins from Black Lion, along with Transmutation Crystals. I’m not sure if the skins on your PvE gear stay with your default PvP armor, so I could be wrong about that one. Haven’t decided if I’m staying or leaving yet, so no point in buying anything more until I see some improvements.

PvP Split is Best for GW2

in PvP

Posted by: Copestetic.5174

Copestetic.5174

Yes, PvP skills should be split from PvE skills. Not only skills, but might as well tweak Traits while they’re at it. Skills though, should be their first priority.

What I don’t understand, is why it’s not already? They did it in GW1, why no love for the PvP community in GW2? Right now, as it stands, I find this game very hard to play in its current state. I played GW1 for nearly 7 years, ( quit July of last year ) and just recently decided to get into GW2 after I said I’d never play another MMO again. There’s just so many things that are missing in this game it’s like, a constant “WTF” moment everytime I try to get into it.

I really wanted to delve into the PvP scene early with this game. I focused too much on PvE in GW1, and toward the later years started doing PvP. But by then, other than RA, there wasn’t much I could do. In this game, PvP seems centered around the old kittenty HB format ( Going around, capping shrines, defending them, etc. ). Why there’s not just a flat arena to go kill the enemy players, or something like GvG or even HA, is beyond me. Why there’s no ‘real’ LFG/Party/WTS system like in GW1, is beyond me. Why there’s no uh, not sure what it’s called I guess like, auto-follow a player/enemy NPC while attacking them, is beyond me. Click-to-move also! ( My edit )

Going to stop there. I didn’t want to rant about anything. Just wanted to show some support for this. While I probably won’t play much longer, I still hope the game picks up for you guys here in the PvP community. So hoping my “+1” counts for that happening.

Buying the CD's or Digital game?

So I got my copy of GW2 in the mail today from good ole’ Amazon. I initially chose buying the hard copy versus downloading the game because I figured it would be faster to install and get to playin’. I was wrong, however and I should have just bought it from the website and downloaded it straight away.

My question is, what in the heck is actually the point in buying the CD’s if it doesn’t contain the game? Currently 3 hours downloading, and at 21%. I could have been in-game already had I just bought a digital copy three days ago.

So again, is there a point?
