because china is a stupid region to work in so left it to someone else to deal with. All the crap about skins with skulls on etc not allowed, political nightmare to deal with.
I doubt that anet really care about what happens in china as judging by their financials it isnt actually a profitable region for them.
Thieves, Necros, Rangers – In WvW will all basically be full zerker.
Lots of ele’s go full zerker (staff/support ele – not D/D)
This is true for both guild sized raid (20/25) and zerging. . . . roamers will use different armour though.
So WvW and PvE have a lot zerker armour users, not just PvE.
This could change in HoT though.. For example I am thinking of a Sinister Reaper to make use of dhumfire. A stack of burning on multiple targets every 0.5s with a 3s duration … so can keep 6stacks up with that alone. Chill damaging (based on condi dmg). Can get a few other condi’s in there, but throw in an epidemic and you can have 12stacks of burning on the enemies it spreads to.
……….
Of course there better classes to stack conditions, but to be fair I think more likely there going to be people running zerker/condi mixed gears in multiple areas of the game, and not just fractals. For some it be no change to currently, but for others it could bring new builds IF conditions become a necessity. It entirely possibly though that they may just boost SOME of the fractal enemies toughness within each island and thus you be better of having a mix of zerk and condition users. . . . i.e. on that colossus level. You may want some condi in your team for the archdivine, but the trash around seals arent getting much of a toughness boost so you want strong zerkers with you too in order to quickly clear them.
Ascalon warriors – the destroyer of groups!
Them buggers can be so annoying with there 10mile rush
Pretty much agree with all complaint points. Was really bad. Sure not knowing the map is part the problem but when you see orange swords somewhere it takes way too long to react and find a route to get there and see what was going on (ie get in on the action if there enemy left when that fight over etc). Nothing for the open field guilds really due to the terrain and cheesy pve aspects.
All I can hope is that they will put a weekly map rotation on from the start. Give this map 2 weeks on hot release then go straight into rotation mode with alpine map. I can put up with this map every other week because then you can work around that (guild raids more often during alpine week, reduce number raids during HoT map week and just karma trainfest if can be bothered) .. if however there 6months of this map I think that there will be a lot of unhappy players, though i suppose the EotM karma trains will fill in the gaps so anet wont care too much :s
Well seems I am basically right. Guess you could say that it is the weekend off Gamescom, but I am going to claim a victory in predicting the weekend after gamescom due to the fact it is after it started
On EU servers I do 50 and 40 every day without too much problem. Sure most “meta” groups wont accept me but there are some that understand I can replace a thief or guardian and if not there always zerk runs that accept any class.
Hmm, lvl 100 fractal = Grawl Shaman – Instabilities: No reflecting + whatever else.
That would really make that fractal a complete pain in the kitten as it tough on 50 with a poor group as is. Hell with 2 mesmers chaining reflects today we still failed constantly for 30minutes because there were 2 people from a guild that were clueless and wouldn’t listen, so they kept dying constantly then getting other people killed that tried to rezz them. (eventually 5th person who refused to kick left, kicked the 2 guilded people out and completed it 5minutes later with new members). To know how bad it was, the guardian did not know what WoR was, nor did he know how to stand in the god kitten big purple bubbles that protected everyone from elementals
…………..
With high toughness enemies, I am thinking of using a reaper with sinister/zerk mix (zerk for at least some decent crit dmg).
Reaper/Soul reaping/blood magic.
With the right setup can put out plenty of chill (that also will dmg), Dhuumfire will stack burns etc. So you can put out some nice conditions just from traits.
Blood magic will give sustain and some group support.
Take a greatsword and you can get the pulsing blind field. If you got might from group you can forgo the greedy trait and spec Soul Eater so that when you enemy with gravedigger you can actually reduce downtime on your blind field. Especially when enemy <50% health and you can spam gravedigger (no cooldown on <50% hp enemies).
Figure that be able to bring more conditions, and more support than the mesmer can especially on no-reflect instabilities and saves me needing to get another set of AR for another character as can just move the armour back to necro where it originally came from.
Of course, this will mean nothing if I love the Revenant and can find people that willing to let me run him in fractals. Would happily get her a wvw and a pve set of armour sorted and she will have a lot of versatility. Hell even Ventari may become helpful in the highest levels.
“you’ll be able to trade fractal encryptions with your fellow Tyrians”
I like having the rare sword fractal skin but meh, now I dont think i will be using it on my revenant
But yeah, I wonder if certain rewards will be in certain fractals. Outside of the achievements there no reason to run any the longer ones, especially things like Grawl Shaman when you are no longer able to reflect his attacks.
…
I spose the good thing though, is that condition specs will become viable in high levels with toughness increasing on the mobs. Can see Sinister becoming a typical stat used and may have to switch away from my mesmer to something else due to the reflect nerfs (unless can avoid it).
If revenant could actually put up decent condition dmg I may use him, although I am leaning towards using a Sinister spec Necro with Dhuumfire.
edit:
Also.
Does this now mean you do lvl 50 swamp – you now lvl 51. Do lvl 51 swamp, you now lvl 52…. so instead of needing to do 3-4 fractal runs to go up a lvl you just chain do a single fractal and go up 1 each time (so go up 3 after 3 runs, instead of just 1 for 3)
(edited by Corran.4957)
Some good changes there, and some …. not so good changes. Looks like in order to do high level fractals you will need for find a pretty constant group that is accepting of taking various roles in order to complete them. Gonna make people that just PuG through fractals frustrated (ie. Me ) more than get now with some groups.
Still, finally getting to make use of these rings will be worthwhile. And being key area for things like the legendary backpacks is good, just will mean there more clueless pugs to deal with

Why if they put the elite specs in the beta before Gamescom people are still getting hands on nothing changes.
people still get hands on, yes. But it will draw less traffic to watch their streams/announcements during that period. By delaying it, they will get people watching streams/videos etc of people playing the classes during Gamescom and be able to argue that there is a larger following than might actually normally be.
For instance, if i have beta access before I pay no attention to Gamescom and will take additional information from the forum and then find any videos that have the specific information I am after.
If I havent had beta access I will likely have any livestreams running, and watching videos of people playing the classes i got an interest in so that I can start making earlier judgements on how I wish to setup my character in the beta so I can get straight into the action (any hands on at gamescom will likely be the exact thing used in next beta test as before)
really, EVERY class that has weapon swap also has at least a single F skill to also use.
Oh no, a warrior has to change weapons to use another F skill (many swap and F1 instantly).
Oh no a mesmer puts out clone from 1 weapon, Weaponswaps and Clone from 2nd weapon then uses one of its FOUR ‘F’ abilities to shatter (Put in a dodge somewhere for 3 clones).
Oh no a ranger has to switch weapons after using a pet F2 fear whilst in melee in order to make quick use of the extra range that he generated for his ranged weapon set
and on, and on and on. You say it about not over complicating things but you doing just that by linking a certain set of weapons to each legend slot.
Take a scenerio.
I have Shiro and Jalis selected.
I have Sword/Sword and Hammer.
Fight start:
using shiro and sword/sword. Phase in, deal dmg with sword/sword. heal used. Keep fighting.
I get loaded up with conditions. Shiro has no cleanses. I need to swap to Jalis just to heal and remove conditions.
Current setup:
I switch to jalis, use the heal and can continue to use the optimal weapon I have for the current situation – This means Sword/Sword because I wish to remain in my highest dps/melee weapon set to try finish the enemy off . Or if the case becomes necessary I will switch back to Shiro, phase traverse/roll out the fight, switch to hammer and put a bit of range pressure on them whilst I regen/wait on sword/sword cooldowns.
Your setup:
Fight starts as originally.
I need to switch to Jalis to heal. Doing so removes my access to sword/sword and puts me on Hammer whilst in melee range. I start doing slow and easily avoided attacks with a ranged weapon whilst in melee range with no way to control it, simply because I needed a condition cleanse. I switch back to Shiro to get back to my melee set but in a much worse situation then when I can select my weapon based on situation as well as my legend.
………….
Your idea (one that been mentioned a hundred million times in a million different threads) REMOVES customisation options rather than increases them and makes it a lot more complicated.
And yes I know there are ways around the situation if i played it different under your rules, such as using shiro to disengage than swapping legends so at ranged before healing.. 2 issues though there – 1) have to always save energy in order to do such a move if you will need condition cleanse. 2) in the time you do that the condi burst could kill you (extra travel time etc before you can swap legend and heal). 3) You likely lost any upperhand you had by needing to disengage in the first place.
The way I see it is they will do a beta before gamescom if it goes well we will get a release date and then maybe 2 more betas to test the other elite specs.
Im more thinking they will use Gamescom for the first public hands on of the announced elite specs, and we will get it the weekend after in order to try get more attention to it during the event.
Tough I don’t want skill types changed as it would make the development time longer hence the expansion longer to come out you don’t like the skill types don’t play the elite spec some people do like the skill types.
OR…. they can simply take the elite spec, use the elite weapon, and not use the new utilities. I know that when I spec Reaper on my necro I will still be using Wells, probably CC heal, leaving only 1 utility and an Elite at most being from the new choices.
recapping the same NE tower in wvw 9 times without ever leaving it except to drop a portal to allies.
Was in early day of the game when the [Xaoc] ruskie zerk was blobbing everywhere. Was an enemy tower and was hilarious how every time they capped it I managed to hide and port my guild back in. Only stopped because it got boring in the end

cant you just change the armor boxes you get as drops?
Yes but this isn’t entirely reliable. Although, in the last 3 months, I managed to get a full set of Asc. Light and 4 pieces of Asc. Heavy from PvP boxes. After changing the stats, I’ll be lookin at 80-90% savings. Whoot!
I had really good luck over the past month in fractals (and tequatl – although he been about 6weeks).
5 heavy pieces ready for Revenant (only need boots)
4 light pieces for Reaper (may go away from zerker for him that used to use)
2 random spare armour boxes.
Also got a hammer/mace/axe/sword/greatsword/scepter/2 unopened weapon boxes spare too
Too say I am happy with my luck there be an understatement. Most loot i get is trash, but been getting a bit of luck from daily fractals that will end up a huge money saver
Question open to everyone: how do you stand pugging for long periods of time?
My answer is simple. I have no choice!
I run 50 + 40 Fractal daily (sometimes i wont do the 40). Got myself from 39 to 48 in past week doing that (done a couple runs with no daily just to bump it a little more). Prior to this though I would just do 39 daily.
I run 29 Fractal daily with a friend. She trying to learn the fractals after not doing them for a very long time and had 20/25 AR + 20 personal lvl. Figured we kill 2 birds with 1 stone and give me a slightly better loot chance whilst still teaching her the key points of each one. Has been going very well for the 6days that this been going along and she developing her knowledge well
Problem is I am in a WvW guild. Most don;t like PvE at all and we actually avoid going into keeps and killing lords/guards etc because don’t find that fun. (We are not a GvG guild, but we only look for fights and do skrim with enemy guilds)
So that means the only way to be able to do fractals is to PuG, all day, every day. Sometimes it is really really hard work, and often the lvl 29/40 will take longer than the 50. Thank god I always was addicted to portals for helping speed things up, and know to spec as a reflect machine for Grawl Shaman which actually makes most pug groups painless even if they do drag on awhile. . .
For the lvl 29 I mostly open it myself and LFG list with no requirements, 2 more days and I can do the same on a 50 but I am worried about how that will work out
edit:
I joined a lvl 19 one today as well. Was 1 spot left. “2nd fractal. No idiots, we got enough of them”.
When I joined it was cliffside and someone had killed both sides of the chest seals so they had to deal with full spawns. Then I noticed it was 4 members of the same guild. Seems that someone had said they knew what to do, but then was doing everything wrong (actually apparently it was 2 of them judging by the pm’s one member sent me not wanting rest to see ).
We actually managed to clear the section in about 90seconds with my using Mimic Portals, and got a big thank you for helping them out as they thought they were going to have to just quit out. That was a happy moment, getting praise from a random guild group, when a lot of people I speak to would instead been fearing a kick as they were with a bunch of people that are friends and are the odd one out
(edited by Corran.4957)
Last rights only use is on initial engage unfortunately, or on a regroup. Couldnt find any other way to use it during the beta weekend. WvW is just too fast paced to even consider casting it at any other time.
It was nice support for the raid leader (was in their group) but beyond that meh. I would settle with them shaving 1s of the casting time.
Don’t post here normally as I not one of the speed runners but had a great PuG group today I joined.
Lvl 50 fractal – swamp
Was no group composition requested and it ended up with 2 mesmers. I was the second and they wanted me to change but I stated that I probably could outdmg, outsurvive and outsupport them (could tell pretty quickly that it was a bad group hence me wanting to see what would happen).
They wanted to exploit mossman underwater, and something I have never encountered before happened. The 2 people moaning about the “2nd mesmer” die to mossman in the water!!
No wonder they didnt want a 2nd mesmer, they needed the 3 other people in the group to carry them. of course when mossman was on 10% someone decided to get downed and then pull him to entrance and reset him. . . just for the same thing to happen again. Downed 30s into the fight
Lets just say I quickly got out of there and into another group that went smoothly. I learnt everything about fractals just by playing but know my class well and adapt my build as necessary and most of the time get people saying I did a good job when they wouldnt normal take a mesmer so must be doing something right
Actually enjoying doing the lvl 50 fractals and on monday will finally reach 50 personal lvl after being on 40 for the past … forever. Getting groups are not the easiest when everyone wants 2ele/thief/warrior/guard setups but somehow I managing to do so and rarely do they take more than 50minutes to complete. Especially if people use my portals on cliffside when i mimic blink up the ramps for first 2 runs, and mimic portal the chest seals.
Just wanted to say not all us pug players are bad. Hell I focus on wvw more but like to dip into all areas of play! Especially considering fractals are helping get free gear for my revenant and also a set for my reaper who I currently thinking of playing differently to full zerk (WvW character that currently bored with). Just wish more people would realise that in the time they sit waiting for the perfect group, I often got halfway through the fractal – pr if it when Im doing a lvl 29 one to help a friend out that only recently started doing them we have almost finished by time their group starts. I actually keep an eye on the lfg just to see when they get filled
super speed going to be great for running around map though. Activate, use all power, double legend swap, activate.
If they wont give us swiftness i will be abusing that to run around ooc
second set probably be mace mainhand to have the constant fire field etc if for some reason there no ele. Allows might stacking before the fight pretty easily.
Roy, please, give us clarification on sword skill 3 if it has evade/invulnerability.
Currently Unrelenting Assault does not evade or make you invulnerable.
Ouch, then in a big fight you can’t use it unless you can cancel it to evade. Hammer #3 is bad enough to use if you leaping and dmg is thrown on the position you leap too, but sword #3 will have you in a bad position for longer when you have no control of it.
How long actually is the attack? about the same duration of blurred frenzy on a mesmer? If so evade on it should not be a balancing problem, if need be reduce the number of hits to 5 to reduce the animation time, increase the dmg each hit slightly, and add evade.
Unfortunately as Rev is an “all rounder” in terms what can do depending on legends swapped it probably go more towards being the same for the run
1) x% all stats
2) x% all stats
3) x% all stats
4) 5s Fury on weapon swap (10s ICD)
5) x% all stats
6) 2s resistance on weapon swap (10s ICD)
……..
They like most runes to be usable on more than one class hence I went with weapon swap not legend swap.
The choice of 4 and 6 are changeable, haven’t put much thought into them yet.
They seem to want fury to be a lot to do with the class and adding a way to get resistance from runes will bring a tiny bit of counterplay to the masses of conditions being thrown around now.
Given that we just got weapon swap I would not be surprised if this is a no, at least until they see how things work out with the change.
Problem is the “universal” ones would have to purposely be made slightly weaker just so people don’t always pick them. Be a tough balancing act. I spose an option be if you took a universal utility then it would be put on both sets of utilities so that you lose out on one of each legends utility thus would make it easier to balance whilst making the universals not be useless.
I know this would be a tough choice for me as I would want all of Shiro’s utilities but on all the others I would be happy to lose at least one of them.
No thanks, that still leaves the rev in teh same position where you will have to put on a certain legend to get a certain weapon. What if you need the utility of the legend but the other weapon you equipped? Remains that you have no versatility in your playstyle that other classes are able to obtain by selecting which utilities they want.
Energy is the balancing thing here, you got no way to spam attacks and utilities due to it so balancing is actually already inbuilt to the class
Sword #4 block
Sword #5 can be used semi defensively (hit someone and shadowstep 600 range back) although you then pull them too you.
Shiro #7 to evade back
Shiro #8 to port to enemy that outside the burst area (takes a little more skill mind you)
..
That just ways to use todays released information to avoid burst. Shame it hasn’t got a smoke field though to blast for a bit of stealth. That would have been nice to have on Shiro
edit:
I do feel they need a little bit more in terms of defensive abilities or some access to protection, even if it is something as simple as trait that gives different boons when changing too the legends
protection – Jalis
Swiftness – Centuer
Resistance – Mallyx
Fury – Shiro
xxx – “Glint” (based on what they aiming glints style at)
(edited by Corran.4957)
Yeah for a GM trait it really should be either a 100% increase (so from 20% to 40%) or just a flat 50% from fury.
probably the 100% increase to 40% would be a good place to start testing from imo.
Conjured may not be used in sPvP but they used a lot on WvW by ele’s. Sure it mainly used for 2 skill’s (#4) on ice bow, and the fgs is used mainly as an escape mechanism but they can be used for that.
Sure kits are more useful in changing skills 1-5 but the option is there for the ele’s. I can see without weaponswap I be trying to pick up every conjured weapon i see if i play revenant in its current setup
people moaning about changing legend and weapon clearly havent played Engineer/Mesmer/Ele where you constantly changing a lot more.
For instance Engineer :
Drop Heal turret, Burst heal, equip elixar gun, acid bomb and F1 destroy turret for double blast heal, etc etc etc.
Weapon swap and legend swap would even be easier than playing a mesmer which as a very basic be something like:
Weapon 1 clone, dodge, weapon swap, weapon 2 clone, F1, Weapon 2 phant, dodge, weapon 2 clone, F2, Weapon swap, Weapon 1 clone, dodge, dodge, F1, … random utilites/dodges/weaponskills – signet refresh shatter – F1 … etcc etc etc.
Hell that is a very basic and uncomplicated piece of mesmer play and nowhere near the most effective way to do it and even that would be a lot more complicated then swapping a legend and making the decision to then swap weapon if you need too which even if you slow wouldnt take long at all to press. Hell a lot of keyboards you could roll your finger of F1 onto the weapon swap so they doing it at same time!
do not tie weapon swap to legends, that will totally ruin a lot of possible play styles. It needs weapon swap but not like that. I used revanent on a guild raid tonight and though the lack of weapon swap is harmful I found often that I wouldnt want a different weapon whilst swapping, but i did also feel I needed the ability to change weapons to be even at 60% the usefulness of other classes.
I was in the raid leaders party, we had a fight against an equal sized opponent guild.
Used sentinel gear mainly. Hammer. Dwarf/Mallyx
Veil > Dwarf Elite – protects the raid leader on initial engage. During this time I would have liked a melee weapon and not the hammer that is indirectly tied to the dwarf legend.
Instead I ended up trying to hang on the edge of the fight so i could pop in and out using the 600 range utilities (#7 and #0 – others not that useful) to support the group and commander whilst making use of mainly Hammer #2.
So basically would have had that first section of the fight all melee if i could in order to better support and deal damage. The Mace #2 and the #3 blasts would been very helpful. Hammer is no use in melee range due to slowness of attacks always leaving you in danger if you wanted to use the blasts.
When regrouping would been when I would switch to Hammer, use #4 to protect the group from projectiles and blast fields whilst under no pressure. When next push repeat above.
When range needed help I switched to Mallyx whilst still using hammer. I would drop unyielding anguish on our range to give them breathing space and use the hammer #5 for the stuns and using #2 for ranged dmg whilst remaining in the field. I would then liked to swap to melee in order to do some quick attacks on the enemy to force the retreat but of course I had absolutely no ability to have quick attacks with the sluggish hammer that has limited dmg.
I just found that trying to play the legends with the “linked” weapons was basically impossible as they didnt meld well with the playstyles necessary to make use of them, but also that most the time I just felt that half the utilities had absolutely no usefulness and thus I actually ended up using about 1 heal, 2 utilities maximum.
—Mallyx = heal/unyielding anguish only as with the lack of survival skills (blocks/weapon leaps/invunrabilty) meant it was suicidal to try make use of the other skills as would be burst down on approaching enemy…
— Dwarf = heal/Inspiring Reinforcement/Rite of dwarf – The taunt was useless in general due to being so slow moving everything got out of range before it arrived, and the spinning hammers just sucked energy for no reason, especially as none of the weapons let you safely enter melee due to the above noted lack of defensive skills and utilities.
………..
I really enjoyed playing the Revenant but there just no place for them in the team unless they get weaponswap or some other way to customise the ability to be useful in both melee and ranged fights which EVERY other class has the ability to do… it currently is style over substance.
….
Weaponswap will fix alot of the issues and also mean that utilities will get more use because you be able to position yourself without insta-dying. And remember, weaponskills use energy and as such you can not endless spam them and the utilities which makes me believe that it would not imbalance the class by giving them the weaponswap.
So:
-Weapon swap required
-Defensive skills required (blocks/invulnerability/leaps)
-IF you insist that no weapon swap should be allowed then a 900 range main-hand weapon is definitely needed to combo with the Axe offhand, and not just what I expect to be the pure melee dps main hand sword.
Noted it on another thread about the access to skills on non-weapon swap classes and how the Rev is completely locked out of the chance to spec away from having no variety.
Rev have a maximum of 15 abilities/skills (5weapon+2heals+6utilities+2elite)
Eles will regularly access to 35abilities/skills (20weapon, 1heal+3utilities+1elite+10 conjured weaponskills on regularly taken icebow/fgs)
Engies have access to 15(rarely) (5weapon+1heal+3utilites+1elite+ F1-5) but gain access to 5 more skills for every kit they use which takes it to a maximum of 40 (med kit/tool kit/gren kit/elix gun/mortar etc etc)
lacking choice
or
Slow+sluggish
or
….. meh.
Only thing i truelly enjoyed was mallyx Unyeilding anguish. Could split groups apart in wvw and screw over the enemy … but always meant I died
The only ranged weapon is so slow hitting everything moves before attacks land, and if do land the dmg is weak.
Melee is rough, due to the fact there absolutely no way to apply protection/regen etc. No blocks. no invunrabilities… just nothing for sustained in melee.
The utilities do not make up to the fact you either locked into melee or range. Basically if you dont take hammer you cant do anything at range because you got no 900+ ranged dmg utilities on the legends.
Got no ranged weapon to pair with the offhand axe.
…….
Need weapon swap – given that utilities do not give the variety needed compared to other classes that have no weapon swap it is necessary to allow Rev access. Take into account that with weaponskills using energy (as well as utilities using it), this will not make them overpowered but instead just give them the same options that others classes ALL have.
.as noted above
Engi can access kits so possible 25 skills available at once (30 if include medi kit) not including F1-5
Ele gets MINIMUM 25 skills available (4 attunements, 5 utility) but if they take up the option of conjured weapons that can increase dramatically (+10 weapon skills on the basic fgs/IceBow combo).
Rev gets – 5 weapon skills, 10 utilities so a total of 15. They have absolutely no versatility which is available to EVERY other class. I was truelly looking forward to playing the Rev but now I am quite disappointed.
I do realise that the class isnt finished, but no amount access to legends are going to help with this. I feel they need to either:
1) Increase number of legends can access (Dont like this as increases difficulty to balance and doesnt fix the issue unless some have 1200 range dmg utilites etc)
2) Weaponswap – from looks of things should not cause imbalance due to fact weaponskills use energy thus cant be spammed due to this + their innate timers.
Also to make it more balanced, given that it clearly meant to have the ability to go into melee also to make use of the legends abilities (notably mallyx) then weapons/legends that are not released need access to defensive abilities and boons.
Ignores stability too it seems, complete havoc in WvW with being warped everywhere. I was constantly doing suicide leaps into enemy trains and splitting them apart so some could be killed. Oh and the fun I had on ledges/keep walls
Due to its unintended behavior, the Symbolic Avenger trait has been temporarily disabled until the next scheduled release. If you were using this trait, we suggest you select a different one until the trait is re-enabled.
Gonna give grenadier the same treatment?
We are looking at many things. And the reports you share are extremely helpful in honing in on the most critical issues.
Given that the Engineers are seen as “Anets love child” in some portions of the community then I hope you do take the same action against the grenadier trait. It is just as broken/game breaking as this. Especially in sPvP/WvW … though spose as it isnt making the likes of tequatl “too easy” then it will be left alone.
Just glad I dont play either of these classes and that the two classes I mainly use already been post-patch nerfed at least once
One down in water at eastern ward.
I be playing Reaper Frontline, shouts are poor in many areas so can easily take 2 wells whilst deciding about what else I will take. Just going to take my time deciding on exactly what to do.. however just by carrying spare armour you can instantly change to meta Wellmancer with limited hassle.
Mind you, im a suicidal player. Dont matter if im on my full zerker necro (when i play him which is rare now), he right there in the middle of the fight 50% of the time
I agree, doing things for compliments is never going to work, just do it because you like it. If you truelly liked the sword then 4 days later you would still like it. Something was wrong in decision making.
Legendaries are nothing. I have bolt on my mesmer that rarely ever gets logged on, and incinerator for my necro that also isnt used. tbh the only time i get them mentioned is if I am annoying someone I know wants both and log on thief to dance around infront weilding them both.
Just go for overall looks. Either pick a weapon and from that build your armour.. or make your armour and fit a weapon you like to it.. or just dont care… personally I got more comments about my random armour kittenty necro (literally every piece is different set) then I ever got about any weapon I used
Greatsword – Melee Power weapon with some AoE control (ie immobilise described as “fearing them in place” etc) and Life syphon. As a class that is meant to be able to withstand long fights etc and limited escape abilities then this would bring a new degree of playstyle to it. I would certainly consider a GS + Dagger/Something and join the melee group in WvW more often then i currently do.
If SFR were double teaming Deso with BB… then explain to me how the other night… SFR lost home garrison to Deso because the commander wanted to take BB keep in ebg?
Events such as these are easily explainable by the fact that the double teaming is neither perfect nor uniformly agreed upon. Simply stated, there’s probably a majority of SFR commanders (and I’m guessing nearly 100% of BB ones) which prefer to keep Deso down and thus focus us almost exclusively, but the view is not shared by everyone on the server hence sometimes you’ll notice different behavior.
It’s all good anyway, it means we’re scary.
Only thing that is scary is how clueless Deso seems to be about map politics.
Guess what, on an offensive map you will find alot of time the focus is on the owner of the border… thus they feel they are being 2vs1’d.
On your home map you feel like you are being 2vs1’d.
Deso is it’s own enemy though. More often then not when SFR pushes at BB’s northern towers and garrison they decide to come over to SFR side of map. This leads to commanders turning attention onto them and thus they then get 2vs1’d on the border that they should have had the advantage of being one of the two’s.
It always great fun on reset when Deso do this, because it means they never get their upgrades running because we are annoyed.
So, get a clue. Learn map politics, and stop being noobs
What’s truly pathetic about Baruch is you’re settling for second place. You’re happy to be seafarers toady instead of trying to win.
No matter what happens in Deso or what our reputation is we always go for the win. For us second place is a loss ,where as you’re content with sitting at the right hand of SF letting it ruffle your hair.
Really? You dont settle for 2nd? So why are you only focused on BB in the matchup? 70%+ focus at all times on BB says the statistics.
As for the so called “2vs1”… please inform me how this is the case when SFR focus is split almost equal. 52% Deso, 48% BB.
Going by your so called reading of the statistics,
SFR is 2vs1 with BB against Deso (as BB are primarily focusing Deso).
BUT
SFR is also 2vs1 with Deso against BB (as Deso are primarily focusing BB by pretty much the same %)
….
But lets not discuss this here as it will get the thread closed… please go to

yes it is good for key runners, start toon, take armour and weapons out with golem. run through, put key and armour straight back. delete.. rinse and repeat.
cuts a good few minutes of each run.
Aye.
Legendary > lvl 1 Legendary – transmutation stone used
lvl 1 Legendary > lvl 10 Legendary – transmutation stone used (all the way up to lvl79)
lvl 79 Legendary > Splitter used = Legendary weapon, Lvl 79 weapon transmuted stats off, Sigil currently in lvl 79 Legendary
(just used Legendary throughout to refer to the look with x lvl stats)
Firstly, I’d like to apologize for being out of this thread for so long, I’ve been reading your posts and think there are a lot of good points in here and just a lot of thoughtfulness in general. I do feel like the thread has kind of wound down, so I’d like to ask one more question and see if that brings up any more ideas.
Edge of the Mists has a whole host of differences from the WvW maps that we built before launch. One of those differences is the number of waypoints. Not only does each side only have 1 waypoint, but they can’t even capture and use the waypoints at enemy keeps. Do you think that the amount of travel that you have to put in makes the maps feel better? Does it feel like there is a consequence for dying and that you can whittle down an opposing force?
I’m curious what your thoughts are and if you think it would make the fighting better or worse in the borderlands and EB.
I start by saying that I am not a fan of EotM as it is too much PvE and too Zergy for my tastes. But I spose it better than sitting in a queue.
However the lack of waypoints IF there was a bit more running involved is a good thing. Currently in T3 waypointed keeps a defending zerg just suicides on seige until you run out of supply. Basically every 3 minutes is a free death for them. As long as they go with kitten on the timer, they know they can take out seige and get back in. Makes tactical play pointless.
Without waypoints, once you breached into a keep you will gain an great advantage because you could then take up blocking positions to prevent reinforcements. You could either cut them off on route or wait at the limited entrances.
If you could fix the waypoint opening timer then it wouldnt be so bad, but simply put I think it a technical issue you cant get around else I expect you would already done the simple thing of making the waypoint be closed a few seconds longer then the “defend event”, if the event wasnt refreshed the waypoint opens… if the keep remains under attack it wouldnt open at any time.
Of course this would work better if you also increased the map size by 50% which would have other benefits beyond slowing down the speed to get back to keeps (increased open areas for fights for instance), but even then, removal of waypoints should help a bit on the zerg mentality as if people know they out the battle for some amount of time then they less likely to do suicidal rushes etc.
Rarely do EU guilds come to NA, and IRON tucks tail and runs at the first sign of a competitive battle.
You really are clueless child aren’t you.
Iron, if run before 6pm UK time always would be lucky to push 20 people. Against 40+ (generally much more then this) there is next to no chance of success unless you can farm a choke point, which is only possible against idiots.
6pm-8pm Iron is starting to ramp up their forces. this 20 people will eventually reach 30-35 on a good night and carry through for a few hours. However by this time ZD has logged off and their map blob has dispersed and replaced by COIN/HB/RK map blobs. These hand holder guilds are fought constantly whilst IRON has a significant number disadvantage without complaint. Sure we may lose the battle or cut our losses however generally more are killed then lost.
It been hilarious the last couple of nights when IRON and COIN had equal numbers, after one loss COIN would not engage until RK and the rest of the blob arrived. They would literally hide/run until the others near. Yet no complaints, hell it a compliment that they are so scared they need to hand hold.
ZD do not fit into EU prime time, they log within 1hr of EU time starting to ramp up. People with family generally come home from work at 5pm, spend time with wife/children and eat dinner and then start to play. Sorry if you lonely and dont get to do that, but we not going to demand people to take time of work or ignore their real life to fight some russian’s that play in an unoccupied time zone.
Sure we may get a 20man group out in future matchups when we got some people back that fit in that slot (and/or want to lead in that slot), BUT said group will not be able to do much in regards to open field fights against the 50+ man blob that ZD will be running at the time… and sitting behind arrowcarts so you can farm said groups is not the IRON playstyle so you wont see it happen.
The ONLY way that ZD will find any competition in NA is if another russian guild comes over to either SoR or JQ (or one the tier 2 servers). Likelyhood of this will be slim.
You would know that even in the EU servers that Russian timezone has always been a key one that gave servers a significant advantage. I faced off against them many times at various levels and it always has been the same.
Anyways, that me just back from being out with the family for halloween. Gonna go relax
Operation “open plan garrison” cancelled by TC’s attack on lake. Still was fun running around in there redecorating
BG , please stop repairing all the garrison doors. We are doing an episode of changing rooms and going for a nice open planned feel. We believe you will like the project once finished
Some Iron, some tsym and various others including uplevels..
Oh, and to me i would say it was a pug win, not a HB win because you running more pugs then guildies.
Wonder when that was though. Cant remember seeing HB running without COIN holding their hands for some time now
If thats true why dont you accept a offer of a even numbered fight? or only attack when with Coin and the rest of the map?
EDIT: Nikola why didnt you come to wipe us in your garrison? you could have saved it.
I was there when we took it from you, I died once, and got 70-80 bags from you, so I consider it positive for me. Btw, nice wiping of our golems when we started raid, how you knew where we will port 2 seconds after we actually ported?
You mean when we saw you stacked by the house? When we stood and buffed up ready to try pull you down to us? Or do you mean when you stupidly portalled them right next to us?
We were “WTF they ported kittening golems to us, get them quick”… fully expecting them to do the wise thing and just take the portal back out. But no, they didnt. Still, liked all the bags i got from trebbing you when you breached the inner and stood in my attacks.
And took you a few attempts to get it, was about time you managed to do so. Only thing I see bg doing well this week is Banner rezzing dead garrison lords. Beyond that you got nothing to brag about. Guess you just missing your big brother, JQ.
