All welcome are better and rarely have any problems. May as well as get the dungeon run and farmed rather than wait for another.

I just want a person new to the dungeon to tell me up front if I start the group. I don’t care about your spec or other stuff. Just tell me that you are new to the dungeon. I don’t kick just because you are new, just want to know how much direction needs to be provided.

No but to be serious, the time you spent on creating this topic you could’ve easily farmed 10-20 badges already.. That’s if you actually helped your server, for example by flipping camps instead of tanking the floor in JP!

PvE players don’t have to PvP in W3 to get badges. They may have to run away from players or just take the gank but you PvE people can still get badges flipping camps.

Do something constructive instead of the jp and quit complaining about jp campers. They want to stake out their spot, they are fine to do that. Deal with them or just leave it alone but quit crying about it already. All you do is encourage people to camp. It is making me want to do that just so I can read all about your delicious tears.

Yeah, the last time I WvWed back in September, I spent about 8 hours working on my monthly and came away with about 6 kittening badges. Might have been five actually. And that’s for 50 kills. With that ratio, you must be getting about somewhere close to 1000 kills a night. Impressive. Feel free to preen like only a PvP elitist can.

Drops have been upped in W3, greatly compared to what it was in september.

Much better than 5 for 50 kills.

Feel free to run way in shame from the PvP elitists preening.

3/15 - JQ/SoR/BG

Open question to BlackGate Commanders,

If you really want to get back to the second spot you have to focus on taking red objectives not greens. For the last two days on several maps I have witnessed many commanders going for green targets which does not affect the amount of points red gets.

This is why JQ and SBI stayed in 2nd and 3rd for so long against SoS. They didn’t actually play for first. Either server could have done better if they had focused and played for first. Instead, many times when SoS was hitting a server, JQ or SBI would also hit them, not really bothering with SoS very often. If BG did what you suggest, we wouldn’t be any better than JQ or the former SBI

We are better than them. We just need to work out a few things. BG has potential.

I think more people are probably just taking it a bit easy on W3 anticipating the new patch. I think when the patch hits, things will get a bit crazy.

<sigh> This has nothing to do with how easy or hard it is to defend a keep or tower. It is simply not a good game mechanic to allow ONE class a massive advantage at using siege (in this case) over ALL the others. If the #2 AC ability immobilized for all classes, then we’d have balance and a more defensive game. BUT it only works that way for warriors which is going to kitten people off (I have a warrior, it is great and it also needs to be removed by not allowing it to work on siege).

I swear the players arguing for this to stay and (before/couple weeks back) those perma-stun PvE things are just out to troll or simply can’t PvP so they need to exploit.

Yes, I am saying you don’t understand competitive PvP, most likely because you suck at it.

<sigh> I swear the players saying that others suck at competitive PvP when trying to argue a point are just trolling like they claimed others are doing when arguing for the skill use on the arrow cart.

All arrow carts should have that immobolize added to them regardless of class. They could also offer a unique skill on each piece of siege depending upon the class manning the siege. They need a buff anyway.

I’ve changed my mind, I do want mounts.

I need player housing first so that I can mount the heads of all my vanquished. Can’t have a mount if you have no wall to mount it on.

So you encounter stupid zergs? Too bad for them. In EU T1 even pug zergs already know how to counter this with mesmer ports and pre-assault siege cleaning.

Apparently it costs too much to be able to hit those arrow carts under the door overhang because we shouldn’t be using siege to counter siege and flash building siege to counter that siege is impossible to do with a zerg because no one is going to be able to get past that arrow cart range to build that siege because no one has condition removers to get past that warrior and his arrow cart.

Never mind that we could cat the door and/or wall or even the arrow cart manned by warriors on the wall without being in arrow cart range.

We all should just go play Carebares.

Siege needs a buff and all siege should just do this regardless of the class.

It all needs to hit harder and actually make a difference for defenders. Make it so that it only has that ability when fired from within a structure.

It should be a force multiplier against the large zerg so that the small force holding the tower has an actual chance at defending.

Yes. You should put up siege of your own. Flash build a superior arrow cart or a couple normal arrow carts to take out the other siege.

Oil and cannons are placed in static, highly visible locations and it is not always the case that user-placed siege is. So yeah, I was being extremely sarcastic. Your opinion of how siege should work is highly inconsistent with the current state of the game, except for immobilizing arrow carts, and the things you are suggesting would be even more game breaking for the sake of “realism”. Auto down on catapults? Ya cuz who used rams anyway, I guess. What you are suggesting would make WvW extremely tedious for everyone.

Tedious because you have to use some thought and tactics before taking a structure like prep to soften it up.

We do hit and runs against hard targets to remove siege, including player placed siege.

Not quite sure if you are being sarcastic but it seems you are.

It is a very good idea to take out siege before trying to get up close and personal with fortifications. Sometimes you do need to build siege of your own before hitting the structure.

Siege should hurt. Cats should put you in a downed state, same goes for trebs because that is a rather heavy projectile coming at you and a pretty good velocity.

Arrow carts should also hurt. I can dance in them with my warrior. I use them to get adrenaline when I’m beating on the door trying to kill or stop the player on the other side of the door from adding in supply.

I love to get hit by arrow carts. They tickle.

Siege really needs a buff.

Immobilized. Pffff. That arrow cart skill has a 8 second cool down and it doesn’t fire for that entire 8 seconds if they are also trying to kill you. You should have something to remove it when it stops.

If you didn’t remove the siege before attacking, your fault.

I’ve noticed what I think is an exploit or hack in the last week or two..

I was idling at the chest just observing and I saw a group of level 2s pop in from no where (not mesmer portal) and then disappear just as quickly..

teleport hack?

anyone else? i saw it a few times and wasn’t even able to screenshot or report it because it happened so quickly

Could they log at that spot and relog maybe? Many people have alts at the end of jps on chest and log in with them daily.

I want a charcopter or airship, preferably loaded with plenty of ammo.

I don’t want a horse unless I can have cannons and bombs and make it fly. No thanks on the char tanks. One gun isn’t enough and it doesn’t fly.

Make all events on a set schedule and get rid of the spawn window.

Sync all servers up to that schedule so that if shatter is happening on IoJ, it is also happening on BG, that way if your server has a lot on and some get kicked into over flow, over flow will also be on the same timer and you won’t have to wait for that event to start and you won’t have people trying to guest to a server with a active event since it will be happening on their home server at the same time.

You are really digging the bottom of the barrel for this complaint.

You do not have to do them. You are not being forced to do anything. Any reason that you think you are getting punished is a false perception on your part.

I like the daily. I can usually do most and often all by just playing the game in the first place. Usually there is something on that list I’m going to do anyway if I need to go to a specific area like farming for kills for drops or even a event or craft something I need anyway. I don’t see why you would have a problem with getting them done if you want the reward.

If I miss a daily or several, it doesn’t matter.

I think you just want to complain about something.

I disagree.

You don’t need ascended for anything but fractals.

If you don’t want to get it, don’t. No one is forcing you to get it.

I don’t mind having a tier above exotic. I have never once felt that I needed to get any. I have gotten a few pieces because I have laurels but I have yet to run even 1 fractal on any of my characters and I’ve been playing since shortly before they introduced fractals.

I am considering getting a back piece but I’m just doing a little min/max now. If I do get it, great but I’m not going to worry if I decide I don’t care to get one.

Get over it already.

I like when I get into zerker war groups on my Thief and I’m the only one who isn’t downed every fight in melee range. .-.

I notice that I get downed a lot but I also end up with a lot of aggro that I can’t ditch until another player can get it.

Some runs I can get through without dying. Usually there is another warrior that ends up taking that aggro and it gets shared around. If I’m the only warrior, I’ll end up with it and get downed before the thief does.

You probably are not doing enough damage to get higher on the threat list against the other warriors. You also have stealth that also helps when you have other players around to immediately get the mobs attention.

Sync all server event timers and overflow

Guesting is a good idea but there are times when there is a overflow but they don’t have the same timer so if someone on a server gets stuck into overflow, they miss out on the event.

Basically, Jormag(insert event name) will spawn at the same time across all servers including overflow. All the events keep their timers, just have one timer for all servers.

I like not having a trinity.

Played several self sufficient/healing characters, several melee types in DDO. I enjoyed it. I fit right in here with self sufficiency and enjoy that aspect of this game.

I don’t care to wait for a specific class just to finish something. Much prefer to take whoever and just get it done.

Stepping away from the zerg means being killed by someone in stealth, and then being stomped by someone in stealth.

That’s the bottom line for me. If I step away from the zerg, I’m just a free kill.

That is a valid point. The risk verse reward for many class/builds makes solo or small grp (1-3) not a good option. But we do lack even grps of 10 roaming around, unless it is off-hours (since then 10 can be a force, but during prime time 10 is not enough).

Groups of 10 to 15 happen quite often in T1, at least I’ve seen JQ using them to hit camps and dolyaks. This was during reset and the week.

Watched them doing that on a couple maps since I took tower guarding duty.

Small groups have become more useful since orange swords got raised. Not enough players have adapted to it yet to take advantage of the new limit.

Before, 5 people would have set off those swords and there wasn’t the kind of scouting in keeps/towers that is needed now. See orange swords, zerg goes there because it may or may not have been a rather large force of players causing those swords before. Players are still in a different mindset.

I really don’t care to force people to spread out in smaller teams. If they want to run in a huge group, more power to them. I think it is crap that people are trying to change the game just because they don’t like large dealing with large groups. I like the huge 3 way battles in garrison and SM. May be some skill lag but it still is a fun time. Just need to fix the skill lag.

Really, there isn’t a problem with zergs. Other may disagree but that is their opinion and I don’t care, I’m having fun with zergs.

Combo fields. Make combo fields nullify once 2 or 3 overlap eachother. This will make people spread out and be more deliberate with their combo fields and have to pick and choose how they use them instead of just throwing down a million and only being deliberate with them to stack might and then maybe heal mid fight.

You will see actual groups form and move away to use combo fields. Buff projectiles and whirls as well and you will see those actually be used to a greater effect.

Combo fields already work in some what that manner. The field on the bottom of the stack is the functional field so if someone tossed down a fire field then another water field right away, the fire field is what gets applied and the water field gets ignored until the fire field goes away.

To make zergs stop, you would have to have everyone with a body that does not allow you to stand on top of another person.

Zergs are so effective because we can clump up into one spot and move around as a tight ball. If you could not clump up, things would have to be done much differently.

Getting started in WvW

Have your cooking skill maxed so you can make food buffs or buy them off the TP.

Same goes for either oils from huntsman(give extra crit chance) or sharpening stones from weapon smith(give extra power.) Can’t have both on at the same time but they are also nice.

When pushing as a zerg, stay on the commander. If someone drops a water field, do a blast finisher. Idealy a ele will keep water fields on that commander.

Fire fields and using a blast finisher will also get you some buff in the form of might. You can get that stack up to 25.

Blast finisher in electric fields will give a swiftness buff and when used against an enemy, a blast finisher into that field will also stun the enemy. Not sure what blast finishers guardian hammer has but I think they have one.

I think guardians offer better suport to a larger group than a small strike force but either way, they are better with others working with them than trying to run around on your own. Not saying that you can’t roam, just that guardians are better with a group.

Shouts Bugged

Does anyone else have a problem with turning ur shouts on auto ? Seems like the last update the auto has been disabled .

They will auto when you get into combat.

I ended up turning off my auto after that change. I used auto so I could keep up might. Don’t really care as much now since I have to flip the switch anyway before entering and swinging your weapon will interrupt the auto.

Finishing World Exploration in WvW Maps

Okay, so my server is Sea of Sorrows. We’re currently winning. Do we have to start losing, or does it change when we’re matched against different servers?

You start at a certian color…represents your place in your tier. Green is 1st, blue is 2nd, red is 3rd.

If you are green now, you’ll be green for the rest of the week. If you win, you’ll probably stay green. If you win by a lot and it boosts your raiting enough along with the red server in the tier above looses enough raiting, you’ll swap positions. If you loose, you may only drop one place and be blue, could loose enough rating and drop to red, but if you loose by enough points, your raiting may drop you into the green position in the next tier below. Looks like that is what happened last week.

If you drop far enough, your server may steam roll the other servers during certain times of the day. Not sure how strong their oceanic is since the transfers but that would probably be a good time to do your completions.

Servers have strong times and weak times, just depends upon when the majority of your people play.

WvW Build?

10 – 50% crit chance on stunned opponents.
30 – Adrenaline when hit, hammer trait, balanced stance trait.
30 – 1 second immobolize on cripple, shout recharge faster, shout heal.

Superior Soldier runes, rest is full cleric but I’ll end up making the PTV ascended back and my weapon will also have PTV with the sigil of sanctuary since it comes with the Juggernaught when I make it.

Skills – Fear me, great justice, shake it off, war banner
Hammer, sword/horn. Sword/horn is mostly for travel and to get out of the middle of a zerg with sword skill #2.

Absorbs a lot…a lot…of damage(I’m that warrior that gets in the middle of the zerg, knocks you around and then is able to exit the zerg and live if your peeps is taking a few too many casualties,) CC is good, helps to buff with fire fields or you don’t really have much DPS. Solo fights don’t do too well but damage isn’t really the point though, CC is where it is at and you would typically push with the zerg. Get a team and you can lock up quite a few.

The elite skill "Rampage"

Banner is better for what I play letting us keep resing garrison keep champ to hold off the attck for hours and hours. Gotta say, this is the most fun skill I have and very satisfying to use.

Banner will also get me a nice stack of might and swiftness duration while the banner is out.

Signet lets me travel faster when I’m just trying to get around.

The rest suck.

Fixing Stale Match-ups

Who the hell wants to play when they get outmanned on every single map just because the stupid system put them into a matchup that their server cannot hope to even match the numbers of even just one of the servers they are playing against, especially if they got taken out of a match that was quite balanced.

I hope you’re not implying that this doesn’t already happen.

During US East primetime, FC has across all four maps about half what SF has in EB. ET has about 2/3 to 3/4 from what I’ve seen during those time periods, but it seems both servers’ heads hit the pillow when 9PM US West rolls around while our west coast crew is still alive and kicking for another 3-5 hours.

Thanks Silver, that it happens already is one my main points. And not just at T8.

This guy doesnt get that even if what he suggest happens it would only be a week or so until things adjust again. Unless the server matches well at the new Tier and then they would be happier. He is also assuming that because a server moves down a Tier it will dominate everything below it, which could happen, yes, but also could not.

Not even going to respond to him anymore. He complains I do not listen, yet when I point out that his population balance proposal is for another thread and that this one is just for discussing the OP, he flips out. He wants me to listen to his stuff but he refuses to listen to what I am saying. Silly boy.

What you don’t get is that this idea will make it worse until other things are fixed first.

Maybe you should stop trolling now. It is obvious. This idea is so bad that if you had some thought, you would understand how bad it is until other things such as the population imbalance get’s addressed.

yes, we spam the same skill due to the initiative system
are you still jealous after the HS was nerfed a lot ?
remember, it was <33% and <66%, what? you want it to be <5% and <10% to be effective?

Some sets are not good for much in a particular build.

D/D you have skill 1 and 2 that does direct/crit damage, skill 3 is condition, 4 is a waste of initiative to use for any kind of damage and even if we didn’t have a initiative system it would be a waste of time to use unless you really really needed to slow someone down, and 5 is for CnD which is utility.

Once you are on revealed, you either use auto attack or spam 2. Heart seeker isn’t bad to finish off a target but you get some builds that just absorb a backstab and that thief is just used to hitting weaker builds that they go into their spam since they can’t CnD for another 2 seconds.

Thief and I think all professions should have a selection of skills for each type of weapon so that if I have a crit build, I can select skills that do only crit damage and get rid of condition weapon skills, or conversely if I have a condition build I can load only condition weapon skills.

Who the hell wants to play when they get outmanned on every single map just because the stupid system put them into a matchup that their server cannot hope to even match the numbers of even just one of the servers they are playing against, especially if they got taken out of a match that was quite balanced.

I hope you’re not implying that this doesn’t already happen.

During US East primetime, FC has across all four maps about half what SF has in EB. ET has about 2/3 to 3/4 from what I’ve seen during those time periods, but it seems both servers’ heads hit the pillow when 9PM US West rolls around while our west coast crew is still alive and kicking for another 3-5 hours.

I’m not implying that this doesn’t happen already, just that the proposed idea will make that situation worse.

Frankly, I like it if we can have a close match. I don’t like to be able to steam roll my opponents because there is no excitement in it when I know we are most likely to win.

I also don’t care to be out manned and know that there is no way we can even field enough numbers to match the opponents zerg.

Other issues such as population imbalances need to be addressed before we could go to a system that was proposed, otherwise it won’t work well and would be a much worse alternative.

Maybe the eighth time will work for you. This is not about population imbalance. Is there a population balance problem, yes. But that is not what this thread was created to discuss. You want to talk about that, create a thread or go to the existing one.

I will dismiss what you are saying because it is not relevant to this thread. I never said it was not a factor, it is just not pertinent to this discussion on this thread.

I find it funny you keep dismissing the auto-movement idea just as you accuse me of dismissing your population imbalance argument. Again, such a double standard.

So to recap, I never said your ideas were not valid, they are just invalid to this thread.

Let me make it stupidly clear so you can understand.

Server A and B are in tier #. Server C gets put into tier #. Server C had a good time in tier % because the matches were even and population was well balanced.

Now, because of your suggestion, server C gets stuck into a match where they are out manned on every map just because they do not have a population to match either server A or B by itself.

This isn’t true. With a thief you may be able to stealth into a zerg and DOWN a player or two, typically undergeared underleveled. If you try a stealth stomp you’ll be a dead thief.
