I prefer pulling it off from TP, precursor cost has stabilitized for quite a long time. I dont enjoy gambling as i cant accept the fate if losing over 100+ gold. Doing achievemnet is okay to me at first until i found some tasks locked behind stuffs that i hate to do.

I place my target on Dusk and i’ve already done some achievements, but i stopped when i saw fractial. Which is the same reason i stopped Mawdey II.

When one day i decided to combine them, means i am going to sell the Eternity.

I felt i am very powerful in low level map. The amount of mobs i can pack and kill but no matter how i geared it is still possible for me to get killed is the best mmo experiences. I am strong but not over powered.

This felt extremely good while playing downscaled with low lv friend. I am a powerful companion to them, instead of the kill everything and take all fun away kind of guy.

Why I believe gw2 fails miserably...

Their claws and weapons didn’t magically become less lethal.

They do if you become sufficiently durable. In Dragon Ball for example Goku becomes stronger by the season. If Super Saiyan Blue Goku went back to the first episode Raditz would be so far outclassed that he’d endanger himself by hitting him.

Levels in RPGs are the equivalent of DBZ power levels. Sure you don’t gain enough stats to become a moon buster but a base toughness of 5 may correlate to an average person whereas a base toughness of 20 means you’re bulletproof to regular bullets, but still as fragile as a wet paper bag compared to endgame level dragons.

But how to justify levels from a lore standpoint in Guild Wars 2? Maybe we can justify it as we’re back in time and each level represents a different place in our timeline whereas level 80 represents us in the present at our strongest. The polar bears of low level zones are no longer dangerous to our present selves, but they’re dangerous to our past level 10 selves and whenever we visit that map we’re effectively going back in time canonically.

It is the reason i stop reading dragonball combat right after the first super saiyan mode is out. The story us getting stupid, the number of the energy level is overdone. I love the 7 dragonball series where fighting tactics is important, instead of unlimited powerceep in the story.

The level scaling is perfectly fine, reason?

A traditional mmo a maxed lv player is limited to have meaningful combat in endgame zone only, while GW2 a maxed lv player, the whole game any map can have meaning combat. GW2 have some flaws, but this is a feature that make GW2 GREAT.

I can see your point, if you are someone who has big needs, but as a level 80 character you should be focusing on playing ‘meaningful’ content in zones for your area, not low-level zones. Why would anyone want to do that? The map is huge. How much more space do you need?

The arguments players have presented in this thread (most in repetition) just do not justify leaving out the traditional leveling/combat system which true players enjoy.

It’s all about… “I prefer this….”, “…but it’s better this way because..”… NO it isn’t!

Making every zone into a complete access-for-all monopoly is WRONG WRONG WRONG imo.

It also sets a very bad example for the up and coming novice gamer about how to tackle no-win situations in a gaming community.

What % is your map completion when reaching lv80?

None of my character reached 45% when they hit lv80. Are you telling me all my lv80 should only stationed in Orr, dungeon, fractial or raid upon hitting lv80? Maybe you are fine with the the higher lv the less contents to play with kind of style.

Well i am not, i enjoy revisiting some low level map, or some place i never visited. I enjoy party with low level travel around the world helping them on their jounery without killing their joys. I understand that i will be extremely boring if some high level one shot everything cross my path when i am leveling.

The scaling system provide lv80 the replayability to every single corner in Tyria, this is what matters to many of us. We all see that the Traditional MMO style is a classic yet outdated mechanics which seems to make the early maps into desert.

When a game required a player to sit tight in front of the computer 2 hours+ straight otherwise you can’t finish part of the game content or aquire some item. It is no longer a game. How many 2 hours we got pet day? Thats 1/12 of our life and it is crazy demanding.

Last i check my play per day i am still sitting at 2hrs per day but you know what? I am already playing more than 55% of the whole player base. Yet i am not able to run any contents that require 2 hrs+. That mean there are majority of players are much casual than Anet expected.

I actually prefer RNG and TP when it comes to item aquire. At least the contents are reasonably created. We are not forced to do super long contents and still get the same chance aquiring items. It was once the beautiful of GW2 but it is no longer the case now.

I am one of the person that cannot affort to 2 hrs per day after marriage. I checked my play per day on gw2efficieny that i am still under 2 hr per day. That fact is i found i play a lot more before getting married.

I can spend 6+ months to finish one gen 1 legendary weapon but i cannot affort the time to join raid, not even able to finish any of the meta the event at 2 hours length. The game turned from a very casual friendly into a game that force you to sit in front of the computer 2+ hours everyday. This is not a GAME anymore.

HoT is fun, if the meta event is not as long as currently (silverwaste meta event was perfect, roughly 1 hour). Who is to blame? The game require you to sit couple hours a day or the gamers that rush through contents like cutting cookies, wasting 5+/24 hours per day and claimed that a game has no contents.

It is a mistake the company listen to them and make such a turn in crazy game direction.

When there are exclusive items gated behind hardcore gameplay. It is no longer the same GW2 anymore. When legendary item can still be obtained through casual playing. There are still light of hope for casual gamer like me to follow. Slowly gather gold for a precursor from TP, thats fine.

Join a raid require 2 or 3 hrs continuious game play it is really not affortable for many players that got a family to run. To finish my rev legging require golem mark 2, already took me days in order to crash his spawn time with my short daily gaming schedule. I don’t understand games wants players to sit in front of a computer for couple hours a day, this is no longer a game seriously.

Good idea, Stun can be made baseline so when upon apply also damage target endurance.

It is actuallt quite make sense when you got stun you are not able to react and dodge so soon. If there is such mechanic, some trait can be added to regain endurance on stun break or no endurance lose when get stun. These can actually promote build diversity.
Thes also benefit pve encounter designs that dodge is the best and all the way solution to defense.

Implications of changing Forceful Greatsword?

in Warrior

Posted by: Crossaber.8934

Crossaber.8934

I think the 10% damage from forceful greatsword should just be made baseline for the GS and the trait should just do what it used to do before the specializations update.

The trait is too powerful for the other options to look attractive because it does so much at once, but at the same time it would be silly to take any of the things it does away entirely.

Yes that is what i suggested couple post ago.

GS deservse that 10% damage

Crossaber.8934

I wish axe could stack might like GS, id prob never use GS again

That would make Axe OP, Axe already a very strong warrior weapon even with no traiting.

Not long ago, Axe was the PvE meta and even was for a while a PvP meta and always was and still a WvW roaming meta

FS should get changed into more generic trait that works for with any weapon but include GS and Spear CD reduction. 10% damage buff should be baseline. Then you can have the trait for the might gain with any weapon of your choice.

That will break some warrior weapons and the others wont see a difference.

Mace too slow and with 5s might that needs a crit wont make much difference, Axe will be broken OP, just Axe AA would be enough to max to 25 might stacks then add Whirling Axe, +combined with how Axe hits like a truck is just a recipe to nerf Axe in the future.

Longbow does not need FGS, with it it will be OP, Sword will benefit from Flurry to gain might greatly, i can see it work on Sword just on sword.

bottom of the line, FGS is fine no need to change anything about it, need to fix Rush, Physical Skills and Make Fast Hand + Warrior Sprint a baseline trait, that what warrior need imho.

Your analysis got a point, might gain on crit with axe will be very OP. But what about FG might gain also work with 1h sword? 1h sword will benefit a lot with the might gain no matter power or condition build. The fast AA and burst can also help stack might fast.

Tactics deservse a buff. Our def and disipline line are too dominant in pvp build and that hurt build diversity a lot more than everything. Who don’t want to take berserker without def or dis line? We are just giving up too much without def and dis.

Berserker 1.0 won’t lacking direct damage buff if we can take strength. But end up most berserker build giving up strength because it is the only option and this is why build diversity is killed.

One idea is to buff tactics on either condition removal or strong team suvival support in order to give warrior another survival option other than def.

FS should get changed into more generic trait that works for with any weapon but include GS and Spear CD reduction. 10% damage buff should be baseline. Then you can have the trait for the might gain with any weapon of your choice.

ArenaNet and Warriors?

arena net decided:
we are going to launch a new heavy..
so we have to break one in order to make ppl reroll to that new class…
so.. which one should we break?? guards or war??
war it is..
and so the nerf wave began.. 1 year or so later.. we got HoT xpack and ReV class..
it does everything we do…but better..
and so the reroll wave started..just like they expected…

Rytlock should have seen it coming….

Don’t we all see when we met Rytlock in the first act, he answered Rox that “he is better than the ever”…. If Rev isn’t overall better than a warrior he won’t say that, right?

Warriors not what they claim us to be

in Warrior

Posted by: Crossaber.8934

Crossaber.8934

Just some thought to share.

We need trait on physical skill (or rage skill) that grant us condition removal (or resistance) on hit, so that we no longer rely on cleaning ire or shout + rune combination.

Shake it off should remove 2 conditions instead of 1, shout heal should be buffed.

Thick skin should be changed to convert damage taken into toughness, combat only, the longer we stay up fighting, the more we hurt and heal, the more enduring we
become.

Crossaber.8934

Like I said, Just baseline 10% damage to greatsword and remove the 10% damage buff from forceful greatsword, now we have viable greatsword, and a nerfed trait.

The trait can go like this:
Gain might on critical hit (all weapon), also reduce 20% CD for greatsword and spear.

Everyone happy.

My berserker warrior use mostly zerker gear. i slotted the trait that gain health and toughness in stun break with 5 stun break with me. i also use lyssa rune so i can hit something with headbutt and convert 5 conditions to boon. use healing signet resistant wisely to against condition heavy foe. use shake if off and weapon swap to remove single condition.

Works wonderful, can usually escape heavy cc big damage and stay on toe deal real melee damage to boss. But don’t leave home without a ranged option as well.

But HoT is different. They embedded the similar system into mastery and let you have the ability by trainning them up “account wide”. I hate the map at first during beta as i cannot move around easily. But then i fall in love with the new map, feel more real and big. As i am no longer look at the map by how far i can see. Instead i am looking at the map with how deep i can drop and how high i can climb.
