What’s the point of “specialization” if there only one “choice”?
Should be at least 2.

My thoughts as well, they might just as well have revamped the current classes instead of calling it specialisation.

I’m OK with this as long as it is an option and not a requirement.

With the new verticality that they promised you’d probably need it.

New race is purely aesthetic. That said I’d have loved to have both, but if I had to choice a new profession would be the better choice

CureForLiving.5360

Joke? Did you miss all 40 free living world updates?

No which is exactly my point. Why an expansion when everything can be brought LW?

Because ANet is a profit driven business.
It’s a bit more complicated than that (for example box sales can cover initial development costs etc.)

CureForLiving.5360

My biggest question about that is there actually an option, or is druid is the only one for ranger, necro greatsword is the only one they get, etc…

It would be AMAZING if there’s options but a little less so if it’s one per prof.

It would be kinda pointless if we only had a single specialization, if we only have 1 specialization then what’s the point?

When did they say that? hope it’s true.
and no way it’s gonna be 50 euros, that’s overpriced for some few nice changes.

I didn’t hear anything about free expansion either. Also pricing would vary from place to place and depending on collectors edition or standard

To clarify it seems you need to firstly enter a specialisation before you get access to these weapons, for example the ranger must specialise in druidism to be able to use a staff

Your mechanics for joining a map is so bad

CureForLiving.5360

what do you suggest they do?

How long do they save your spot for?
1 minute? 2? 10?

dc’s happen…it’s not that big a deal.

I’m more bothered by the fact I have to keep clciking “join” to get onto a map..=.=..a queue system is a must!

Well based on the initial concept behind the join function (i.e. to play with friends) a queue system is kind a silly. However the street always finds a use, and currently the join function is used for taxi purposes. Actually I think we don’t so much need a queue as much as a new system that caters for the need at hand (i.e. to taxi people). The LFG is just not really designed around that idea.

Free map hopping would be a bit abusable, for one.

But just think how many trees / ore I could mine! But yes abuse-able.

Agreed. The “District Menu” in GW1 was several orders of magnitude better than what we have in this game. Sure, it was for lobbies only, but it would be great to have.

I seems like people want to fit a perfectly good square into a circle. Why do you want a District system? For what uses? I’m guessing it’s for things like Silverwastes or Tequatl? In that cause Maslow’s Hammer seems applicable. I’d personal rather have ANet not adapt a hammer into a screwdriver but rather just give me a screwdriver.

Where'd all the RP'ers go?

CureForLiving.5360

Wait, what? No, you can use transmuted items in the MF, it will treat that item as the base item – there’s even a little tooltip that says as much when you mouse over it while in the MF window.

I was able to infuse six spinal blade backpacks even after they were transmuted (long story short: picked the wrong stats, transmuted the items, realized half a year later where I messed up), so I know for sure you can upgrade backpacks at the very least.

Jip. In the old system you couldn’t. Since they implemented the wardrobe in feature pack 2 it uses the base item.

I’m not even sure why that tooltip about transmutation not working with the MF even exists, because at no point was I ever not able to use transmuted spinal blades of any quality in the MF.

Old system you couldn’t, feature pack 2 came out after S1 ended (and thus the spinal backpieces became available in game). So the tooltip is probably a bug.

Well i really hope that HoT will revamp his encounter a bit , it felt a bit anticlimactic.

Which is why Zhaitan being alive is so appealing. Even if we only get a single new dungeon, or open world boss.

Caithe also said that her wyld hunt is completed, which was to kill Zhaitan.

Which she only said because she thought(correctly or not) that Zhaitan was dead.

why: unlocked BL skins not in wardrobe?

CureForLiving.5360

I can see some BL skins in my Collections but not in my Wardrobe, but I’m not sure how I got those! I think it’s a bug that items appear in the collections but not in the wardrobe, I can’t remember if you could unlock BL skins in PVP before.

Its a bug with black lion collection achievements. Sometimes weapons unlock in the collection without owning them.

I’ve got several of these myself.

I just gotta ask, of any term in the english language, why are they called the biconics?

Well Destiny’s Edge (that world be Rytlock, Logan and the rest) were referred to in-house by Anet as being the iconics. When they created Destiny’s Edge 2.0 (that would by Majory and the rest) they were referred to in-house at ANet as be B-Iconics (and no no its not B-Iconics as in B-Team, we’ve already had that discussion. Its B as in A group and B group) to differentiate them from the Iconics. So players started calling them biconics.

One of the issues with the living story is the lack of complicated dialogue trees. In other words most of the conversations are short, to the point and the PC is only given a single response in most cases. Which has led to several issues of players not agree with what was said or not said. However until ANet starts giving us options (even if they have no influence on events) this is something we’ll have to just get use to.

But both Caith and the pale tree care for the sylvari as a race, withholding this information from the leader of the pact potentially doomed the sylvari. I still believe its a plot hole , a giant one.

No it wouldn’t be a plot hole, you might argue the idiot ball though but in this case it seems debatable.

The Priory was quick to pick Ogden’s brain, but not the Pale Tree’s? Or did I miss it?

Yeah. Well the Pale Tree plays her cards very close to her bark. I think not telling people stuff was more of an attempt to prevent the Priory from picking through the grove with a fine toothed comb (by coming off as not particularly knowledgeable in regards to non-Sylvari matters) and potentially discovering the Mordy connection which could then lead to her being set ablaze.

Meta does mean most effective. Granted it can also mean other things, but a variety of meanings doesn’t negative or take away from any specific meaning. The argument that meta does not refer to most effective because it can also refer to other things is not sensible (and this is exactly the argument you’re making in your title and your tl;dr). Heck that’s not even taking into account the lingua franca

Guild Halls

Reminder, having a CDI on a topic guarantees nothing. That is laid out at the beginning. It is merely a dev/community brainstorm.

However, as the community requested that the devs pick the topic rather than randomly choosing something that might not be even remotely under consideration, it does seem at least possible that guild halls are something they have an active interest in working on and were willing to use their time discussing.

This. All we can do is hope and dream.
Given ANets policy around communicating things that they are working on (i.e. things not yet ready for release) I don’t think we should hope for any official word any time soon. Maybe we can get some in HoT.
