You mean a template system? Yeah players have been asking for that for a while.
Well there’s a bit of a learning curve when you enter HoT with Berserker gear (a lot of people getting one shotted for a while there XD ). But most people have changed their strategy enough (or just run in large groups). Likely we’ll only see soft trinity emerging in the raids.
I agree with OP. We need an open all options for bags!

Sorry, but that’s not how the Dream works. Nothing that happened there was entirely real. Everything that has lived, and somethings that haven’t or haven’t yet, has an echo in the dream.
I think you’re talking about the Mists. Not necessarily the same thing.
I did not receive a gift for completing the map Verdant Brink. Someone also has such a problem?
Please reply
I wouldn’t say someone so much as a 5 pages of people https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/bugs/Got-100-map-completion-on-VB-no-reward/
Guild hall costs are insane for small guilds

small guilds will ofcourse have a harder tme to get guild hall up and running and it should be that way mate.
See it as a long term goal to get said guild hall up and running.
My thinking too. Unfortunately catering for a 5 man and a 200 man guild with the same system is near impossible.
Ermm….. Thus, there should be WvW obtainable-only items, for fairness sake. WvW players are capable of playing PvE but not the other way round.
Because running after the commander tag in a giant zerg is hard? :P
Chak are actually natural beings that thrive on ley-line energy. Good ol’ Primor likely clashed with their species and not necessary out of respect do some of the Destroyers look similar to them but just because they are so ‘practical’ in their potential for destruction does Prim make Destroyers off of them. Chak, being so attuned to Leyline energy not to mention their species is similar to a separate natural hive-mind, cannot have their drones corrupted, end up being what typical Destroyers are based on.
A hive-mind wouldn’t render them immune to physical corruption though.
In the final instance, the PC tells Trahearne that the Pact is “all but gone.” The Pact. Not the fleet. The Pact.
Presumably they Pact Fleet included the bulk of the Pact fighting force (alternatively their D-Day involved the b-team… which would be a bad strategy)
(edited by CureForLiving.5360)
If you think scale is an issue, you clearly haven’t played the Dragon’s Stand event. That’s where all the Pact members you’ve been helping throughout the last 3 maps come together and fight Mordremoth’s physical body, and it’s easily the most epic thing Anet has ever made.
The problem is that people haven’t. In some people minds there is a clear separation between the Personal Story and the PvE map stories. In vanilla ANet included some of the push towards Arah events in the PS so those who didn’t care or pay attention to the PvE maps still got the feeling of pushing into Orr. Mind you this is probably redundant story telling, imagine if they’d taken the time and effort made to make those PS chapters and rather decided to implement them in-game as large-scale events chains (I personally prefer the later but then people would again not see these as being part of the story).
They’ll probably use the whole “Now that Mordy is dead we can finally explore the jungle in peace and see what we can find.”
That way they will add all sorts of things that we are talking about on the forums that are completely missing in this expansion and it was its perfect place to be in HoT
Which would be interesting, however in the end we would ask: “why couldn`t it have been in there from the beginning?”
They can always pull a “You didn’t have the time to go explore what mysteries can be found in the jungle, no time for other Pale Trees, Malyck, Dragon weaknesses, Egg, Exalted and Forgotten and everything else you were expecting at the release of HoT, cause remember, Pact was in trouble, your friends (Zojja, Eir, Logan, Trahearne) needed help. Immediately. Would be silly for you to go and explore stuff while they are in immediate danger.”
And just by saying that they can pretty much justify most of the things they missed.
My thinking as well. There’s a lot of plot threads lying around, so spending at least 1 season explore and expanding on the lore would be great before moving onto the next expansion / dragon. I’m just afraid S3 is going to be another S2 i.e. a lead up into another expansion (and thus not a lot of time to stop and take in the lore).
If the Mordrem guard or sylvari in general can resist Mordremoth, why did Glaust need a powerful forgotten ritual to gain her freedom when she is far more powerful than the average sylvari?
Why can’t a sylvari be brought back from nightmare if a sylvari can resist Mordremoth?
Firstly there are a number of theories that involve the Sylvari also having been cleansed (or at least the original seed of the Pale Tree).
Secondly, Sylvari resisting Mordremoth means they haven’t fallen under his sway. Once a Sylvari goes Mordy / Nightmare they don’t come back.
The best NPC was that Norn Roy who loved the minions of Mordremoth, talking about how they ‘ate’ his partner long ago.
Great tongue in cheek humor by Anet.
Were those Mordrem? I though they were Saurians? Mind you ANet did not do a good job of visually distinguishing between normal and mordrem version of the fauna.
Lore steam would be great. Don’t see it happening though.
Well it depends on the similarities between Zhaitan and Mordy. Killing Mordys body wasn’t in and of its enough to kill him because he was the jungle, his roots ran deep too deep. We saw that Mordy could shift his mind or soul into different bodies (Trahearne) although seemingly only to parts physically connected to him. In theory if Zhaitan also had a similar mind / body dichotomy then we’ve so far killed his body but his mind / soul might still persist. Maybe when Tequatl got his power-up it was because he became the new body of Zhaitan.
But it’s all speculation really.
Not much to do without it.
If you’ve been playing for 3 years now, then yes. Otherwise their’s plenty to do.
Scleritethin/Selbbub/Senor Bubbles/Steve is next Elder Dragon.
But here’s the problem, underwater combat.
I’m not sure if we’ll be facing the Deep-Sea Dragon without ANet getting underwater combat in a better state.
I think Zaitan will be the last. He fell in a pit, we didn’t see him eradicated. He is undead and fell in his homeland where we never checked up on his corps. I think he will return full throttle one day, hence why there is still another half of Orr that is unexplored.
Well if we ever want to go into Elona, Orr seems to be a good route.
So at the beginning of HoT – we witness Mordremoth going at it – he pulls down the entire fleet, killing a huge number of pact troops, scattering what remains of them and reducing their military capacity to all but nothing – and then nothing happens.
I find it incredibly odd and unrealistic ( and yes I realize this is a fantasy game – i don’t mean unrealistic in that way) that the remaining Pact survivors just go about their merry way and survive.
The only people who go on their merry way is actually the nobles (although they’re generally disconnected from the complexities of life). All the rest (as seen throughout Verdant Brink) is a battle. The only thing we don’t see however are the exact moments after the Pact fleet falls, by the time we get their most of the Pact forces have already established small camps and we help them to defend / capture and secure.
Think about it – they are stranded in hostile territory that they have very little information about, their command structure is broken, a good number of them have turned ( the sylvari), a good number are injured and tired and to top it all off they aren’t being supplied and are constantly attacked by Mordrem and other local wildlife or races.
All of which is covered in the Verdant Brink events.
I also particularly dislike how we can just walk our way to Mordremoth’s inner lair with not much trouble.
In the previous story – the fight with Zaithan – we had to fight tooth and nail, pushing in with massive movements of troops and slowly making our way to its inner most sanctum.
We do, just not in the personal story. We fight our way to Mordremoth in the PvE maps.
I feel there’s also a lot of waste potential – Tarir and its inhabitants could have played a huge part of the story – hell – they could have been a focal point by making them the crutch the broken pact leans on to fight on. There could have been much more emphasis on rallying other races in the jungle to your cause.
Instead we meet them, greet them and move on – they play no significant part in the story except for “hey we’re here too” and seem like things tacked on in order to have a reason for the associated masteries to exist.
They are the crutch. A number of Pact soldier are stationed inside of Tarir and with the help of the Exalted fight back the Mordrem. Again just not in the Personal Story.
basically the entire event structure of verdant brink is you helping small groups of pact members getting together to try to hold down an area.
But that’s the problem here it seems, OP is only looking at the Personal Story in a vacuum.
I wouldn’t know about that meta event – since the game never had me do it – they just had me talk to one NPC and then I got teleported to where I needed to be. Not really well done or immersive.
And again, you have to look at the story as a whole. Remember this isn’t a television show, video games are an inherently interactive medium. If you decided to skip the open world meta-events it doesn’t mean that there is no story, simply that you decided not to delve into the story.
They should’ve delayed the dragon’s death until LS3. This would’ve given them more time to explain things better and to give the current maps a little bit more meaning.
I honestly still think they can use S3 to explain some things. Mordremoth is gone, but the Modrem still remain, Tiami is still in Rata Novus, the Exalted are still around, and the Pact force are still busy fighting. Although the story of S3 might not be as grand as ‘we need to kill the dragon’ it can still work even thought its ‘Kill some of the remaining Modrem Champions and Mordrem Guard’ and ‘help Taimi retrieve more Rata Novus data’, ‘deal with whatever the Nightmare Court was doing in Magus Falls’ (kinda suspicious that the leader of the Nightmare Court would just happen to be in Magus Falls) etc. Then there is also Malyck’s tree, but I see that easuky tying into the Nightmare Court. We can even deal with some issues outside of Magus Falls, such as what’s happening to the Pale Tree now, or how are people responding to the Sylvari are dragon minion reveal.
I think the egg took way too many episodes of the story, sure it might be useful in the future but it had no use AGAINST Modremoth.
The egg thing did feel out of place though, especially given that so much of the PS was focused on the war with Mordy. So taking a detour to do egg stuff was odd. Well it was a plot thread that was left dangling from S2.
Try and do the Dragon Stand meta.
Yeah Mordy might once have been a dragon or more dragon-ish but clearly he sprouted roots and started growing wildly. The closest thing to a physical manifestation is probably the Mouth of Mordremoth.
I hope they don’t completely drop the Nightmare Court lore but it doesn’t look good after they killed off the face of the group (Faolain).
She doesn’t have to be dead, we could have killed a clone, or there might still be a clone somewhere. After all Faolain wasn’t exactly looking like herself all that much.
In the story, there was something about using the Chak against the dragons. I think that this means that they’re just too tough for the dragons to easily fight. They are overall pretty dangerous, and we don’t know if they do anything to do their dead – some bugs would eat their own dead/wounded. And such would prevent corruption.
I think the big idea is that the Chak consume magic, so in essence they’re like the Elder Dragon. The idea was that they’d be able to consume the Elder Dragon’s magic… Mind you you’d just be transferring all that power from dragons to insects, so not a big improvement.
I’m confused a bit about the Pact. In Verdant they are isolated, scared, and barely hanging onto survival in small makeshift camps. In Auric, they are mostly priory running around going ooooh and aaaaah at all the golden shinies. I’ve been trying to avoid Tangled Depths since I don’t like the map layout but it seems like suddenly they are trying to organize some kind of offensive. Not sure where they mustered the means but okay.
Then in Dragon’s Stand they are marching an army of soldiers and copters to go kill Mordremoth. A tattered and broken down Pact just picks up some scraps off the ground and says…let’s kill Mordremoth anyways! A bajillion Mordrem stand between our half-dead soldiers and our goal. We got this!
I haven’t fully played through the later maps yet, but in Verdant Brink the fact is very much in disarray, scattered and unsure who to trust with enemies all around. You help the Pack to establish outposts and fight back and lessen the danger in Verdant Brink. From their the Pact is able to push into Auric Basin, meet the Exalted, help to fight off the Modrem, and reestablished another foothold. Seems that the Golden City offers safety and respite for the Pact forces to rest up and push on.
So basically the first two maps are least clearly show the Pact regaining some of their strength and establishing a foothold to push on deeper towards Mordy.
I really have a feeling that they saved most of the interesting lore for Raids and the future LS, and HoT’s PS was basically just there to get rid of Mordremoth, introduce new areas and groups, and set up the ground work for everything else. Because other than Mordremoth’s mind getting killed at the end, all I really saw was a bunch of loose plot threads for future stuff.
Yeah, the story was narrow but that’s what ANet was going for, the feeling of us being in danger, having to hurry to rescue our comrades, having to push forward since every second counts.
However the slower pace of LS would be perfect to explore some of these lose plot threads. Granted there’s so many directions we can go into I’m not exactly sure how it will go. If it was me I’d spend S3 exploring these plot threads and then when most of it has been wrapped up I’d use S4 as a build up for the next expansion. Else if they use S3 to lead into the next expansion then it seems like a lot of these plot threads will not get resolved or will be resolved with throw away sentences here and there, and not the necessary depth.
You mean since Prophecies. Just far more obviously since Eye of the North.
There isn’t perhaps someone who was crazy enough to compile a lot of these plot threads?
It no longer makes much sense for there to be any sylvari reprucussions. Mordy being defeated releases control and prevents any further corruption. Considering how insanely quick we took him down after entering the jungle, it is likely most of Tyria never even noticed the “turning”.
Big and fundamental problem with your reasoning there, people aren’t reasonable. Besides did all the Modrem Guard and corrupted Sylvari suddenly become good again? Can anyone be sure? Also chronologically a lot of the events could have occurred while we were in the jungle, so when we arrive at LA or Divinity’s Reach the Sylvari relations could have already broken down and we see the aftermath and need to deal with that.
Well I’ve (as far as I can tell) gotten all the Mastery Points in Verdant Brink, just in case, but that doesn’t seem to have fixed it either.
I wonder if we’ll get rewards for maps that were completed before rewards have been announced, like sw. I have done sw on multiple chars and hope I wont just miss the rewards now.
Not sure if there is any useful rewards for SW and DT, but I do know the rewards for Magus Falls maps are important for legendaries and collections. So yeah, this kinda seems important that we get those.
Just just did VB for the first time on my necro, no reward. Apparently there was also suppose to be map rewards for Silverwaste, Dry Top etc. (well according to Guild Gab) No rewards there either. I guess I don’t mind a few bugs, but I’m just worried that when ANet finally patches this that I might not get my map reward
- Sylvari can turn at any moment (there’s one or two events in Verdant Brink, that’s about it afaik)
I think those were more sleeper agents. In one event you ‘scan’ Sylvari to see if they have been corrupted or not, and when you reveal them they attack you.
I agree with you that there is way to less lore. It felt rushed, i remember in the trailer after the season 2 final, Canach who got attacked, Faolain and other things. But yeah Faolain was their, 2 minuts later she was a monster that was the deal. And the thing with Canach and the misstrust on other sylvari, you hear on one or two points some characters speaking that maybe you can turn to mordremoth but i with my sylvari character dont realy feel this misstrust and i think that is a missing oppertunity for lore and replayability to see what is the difference if you play sylvari or dont.
We get the mistrust of Slyvari in the pve maps. Because ANet purposefully wanted to give the personal story a sense of urgency (and thus a sense that we’re rushing to save our comrades) that there wasn’t too much time to stop and smell the racism.
- If Mordremoth was able to hide his mind within Trahearne, does this mean Zhaitan could have as well? Is this why the risen in Arah act as if Zhaitan’s alive – he merely changed “bodies”? Is this why Tequatl got his power boost – he isn’t Tequatl any longer… he’s Zhaitan?
With Mordy they did introduce this this idea that in fact Elder Dragons aren’t necessarily limited by something like their bodies, that they are entities that have transcended their own flesh. I rather like that concept, makes them a bit more eldritch. Although ANet could probably hand-wave this and say ‘well you see Mordy was the ED of mind and plants so that’s why his mind / body thing worked differently’.
But if they did include this idea that simply physically killing a Elder Dragons body is only one part of the fight against him, well that means we can finally get that end fight against Zhaitan that we all wanted.
- So we are told the Nightmare Court also resist Mordremoth… but where the hell were they?
I’m more interested in knowing what Faolain was doing in Magus Falls. Did the Mordrem capture her? Did she have some reason for entering Elder Dragon territory? We don’t see any Nightmare Court involved in Dry Top or Silverwastes so why suddenly in Magus Falls do we see a few popup?
- What will happen to the Mordrem? Will they remain until exterminated like Zhaitan, or with Mordremoth’s mind truly destroyed and a flash of magic bursting out (unlike with Zhaitan), are they all dead?
Sylvari are still alive, so likely the Mordrem remain (we also got that impression from what we saw in the Raids).
We fought Zhaitan in his own element, Darkness, and brought Light.
Ah ok so his weakness was lazers XD
Oh well, I love GW2 lore, and loved previous stories, LS, and even PS. But with all my love I can say – this was waaaaay too short for an expansion with a whole Elder Dragon. Remembering how it was in personal story. We gathered allies, mustered strength, researched, built fortresses, there was steady progress in enemy territory, taking down enemy leutenants, and final assault.
Looking on what we got in HoT. All fleet is in pieces. Soilders in chaos, friendly forces minimal. Heroes are missing, taken by an enemy. And there our Destiny Edge v2.0 marches straight on.
I think largely the problem there is that the personal story needs to be mixed with the map stories. If we only go by the personal story then yes we never really see us gathering allies, building fortresses and having a steady process into enemy territory. However when you play the PvE maps and go through them you very much take part in gathering Pack troops, building a foothold in the jungle, helping the Mursaat to fight off the Mordrem, pushing towards Mordy etc.
I think that might be the problem, the personal story felt too separated from the pve map stories. The same thing occurs in Orr to be honest, a lot of war and zhaitan and pushing towards Arah isn’t done in the personal story, but at least some of it is presented in the personal story.
of course we did do a lot of research during S2, so we probably shouldn’t view PS2 in a vacuum.
I expected us to take a detour after rescuing DE to go and stop anti-sylvari revolts in LA, to form new alliances with the Nightmare Court to rebuild the Pact, to question the Pale Tree on the revelation, to find out what’s so kitten important about the egg.
I hope so much that S3 will touch on this. I can sort of understand why we didn’t WP aroudn the world, one of the things I found a bit unrealistic (probably not the right word) about S2 was exactly the fact that one moment we’re in Dry Top, then at the Priory, then in the Shiverpeaks etc. Technically lore wise WPs are a thing, but with so much jumping around it kinda a bit odd. So I can understand why they focused the story largely in Magus Falls. But hopefully with S3 we can focus on events outside of Magus Falls. Likely with soldiers returning from the battle with Mordremoth word will get out, hostilities against the Sylvari will flair up. Wit Faolain dead things are probably a bit rough for the nightmare court, and clearly with Trahearne dead and so much of the Pact dead and destroyed we’re going to need to rebuild it.
Hopefully, someday, gliding will be implemented in Central Tyria, and maybe add a few updrafts south of Wizard’s Fief.
At the very least they can include parachutes! I’m so involve with being able to jump off high places and not fall to my death.
Anyway what’s wrong with having long term goals? There’s no need to instantly be able to craft the precursors, and by extension no need to instantly have all the materials.
I have a question here, If I make a legendary, can I sell it or will the final version be account bound?
Not sure. I know the precursors are account bound though.
Isn’t it required for the ‘new’ legendaries? That is, you can’t buy those pres on the TP…can you MF them?
Yes it is. I think partly the idea was that if you see someone with the new legendary you know that the person had to really work to earn it.
I’ve been wondering something: Can precursors still drop from the Mystic Toilet?
First generation yes.
https://www.guildwars2.com/en/news/a-legendary-journey/
Is there anyone who reads that and thinks that it will requires hours spent spitting out intermediate pieces for crafting or grinding gold to buy them?
Yes and the article even says as much (well not the grinding gold part). What did you think they meant when they describe getting the precursor as being done in three tiers with iterations?
I literally I don’t see the point in precursor crafting as it is currently
You can farm the mats and do the tasks to craft the precursor
or
You can farm the mats and then instead sell the mats and just buy the pre in half the time.
Giving people options is not a bad thing. Both of those options are equally valid means of getting the same end, it’s simply a matter of which one you prefer. Remember the new system has taken nothing away from you (in regards to the first gen legendaries at least), but simply added a new means of acquiring them.
i just spent 3 hours in the most toxic, anti-fun environment i have ever come across in an mmo
Playing on the American Servers perhaps? You should try the european servers everyone is either nice or you don’t understand what they’re saying (which I guess by implication means that they’re as good as nice).
feel free to make 2316784253641782135178635 SEPERATE areas where super mario fanboys can test their movement skills and feel good about themselves but spare the rest of us who just want to have a good time in the game and experience the content in a way we’re used to from the core game.
Firstly, how are you experiencing issues with the new movement mechanics? I mean I could somewhat understand people complaining about the Zepherite skills in Dry Top since some people are physically disabled and not capable of making the fine movements required to effectively use some of those skills, but bouncy shrooms are pretty easy to use, gliders aren’t really that challenging either.
Secondly, stagnation is a bad thing.
instanced zones or mini-dungeons for hardcore players are the way to go. ruining open world and story content for the sake of elitists is not.
What are you talking about? I thought you were complaining about the new navigation abilities they introduced, but there is nothing elite about them, so you can’t mean to say that adding gliders is somehow catering to the elitists?
anyway, i forced myself through some hero challenges, wasted a few gold for TPing from wp to wp to find accessible ones that didn’t pop up the stupid “you need mastery XY before you can access this area” window and with only 25 HP left to fully unlock reaper i’ll head back to wvw / core tyria to get them.
A few gold? WP fees are measured in 1-4 silver with a hundred silver being 1 gold. Had did you spend a few gold on way pointing? Unless you’re being hyperbolic.
reading must be hard for a blind man. anyway, as i said: i enjoy gliding, even the shrooms. but having a cool mechanic doesn’t mean it has to be used in such an anti-fun way. w/e no point talking to you with such a hostile attitude.
Oh look you’re insulting people. Yep that’s how you convince people of your position, insult them, and then claim you’re the one being attacked when they give it back to you as good as you gave it.
Many GW1 players kicked up the same stink when GW2 came out. Guess what happened?
I’m not exactly sure. What did happen?
It’s an issue that everyone keeps perpetuating, stop preordering.
Good advice. Sad that it never catches on.
Honestly I rather like that there is the option to level your charr quickly via tomes. Most people that have a stack of tombs also likely have a stack of characters (or would that be a pile? crowd?), and thus likely already experienced the PvE content several times (i.e. map completion to level is only fun for so long).
Could you imagine if they just removed all leveling tomes, books, scrolls, and made everyone grind up their toons the old fashioned way, THEN made them do this grind for Elite Specs?
I mean why not. Makes as much sense.
I’m not exactly sure what you’re sarcastically inferring here. I assume based on other replies it’s about having to unlock the elite specs?
Well since they are adding tedium back to the game, might as well remove all the tomes.
Ah ok so you are being passive aggressive and sarcastic. Well I’m sure that will make ANet instantly listen to your feedback /s
Don’t want your Elite? Boom, 80 tomes and you’re done. Want your Elite? Well… get on that treadmill because you’re not going to get your completed character until you go through the guise of “player progression” or the “see we have content, now grind it”.
I think you’re not playing the right genre of games here. MMOs particularly the RPG-MMO genre tend to be defined by grind and farming. The reason for this is simple enough, there is no way for a developer to produce sufficient unique content to keep players occupied for thousands of hours. Furthermore a common trend in RPGs is this sense of progression things like better equipment, new items, new abilities, stat increases etc. So what we have in the MMO-RPG is a genre known for not giving players everything at the start (i.e. players having to slowly work towards things) and a certain amount of repetition. Well these are desirable traits since the desire to progress is part of the motivation to play (and of course the social aspects). I think you might be more comfortable with different genres, can’t really think of one… maybe chess? I do know you don’t have to unlock the chess pieces so that could work.
Your char is not unfinished. It’s a few days old PvE char and PvE chars, before they started throwing tomes at us, always took a long time to unlock. Taking a few days to unlock the Herald is not much time in the several year old life of a PvE char.
You know I have the feeling we might eventually see something similar to tomes for elites, although I guess they already have something like that in WvW.
Missing from the discussion is that all new account buyers of HoT have no tomes, no insta 20s, no hero points, level 1 with nothing.
It’s a pretty long slog for them to get to the content features HoT is selling.
So ANet should sell instant max level characters?
Man you guys whine alot…
I don’t even like wine, it tastes like rotten grapes, how can someone like the taste of something rotten?
Man you guys whine alot…
Every MMo expact generally caters for the max level. So anyone buying it doesnt really ger anything out of it till they get to that point.
Gee. I guess that is why good expacs often contain new lands, new races, new starting areas and storylines unique to them. You know.. for the maxed players….
Please define ‘good expacs’ cause I can think of several MMO expansions that did not include new races or new staritng areas or unique storylines to them (although those all are pretty related), but those all might not be classifiable as good.
Okey, gj.
Now go outside and move around a bit. Must have been, I dont know, 3days and 8 hours since U moved?
Yeah blood clots can be a bit of a issue. But then again I’m not the one to talk…
So I was doing the Tendril Torcher adventure and noticed that each time I set off the unexploded shots the tendrils in its aoe field don’t die. Now I’m not sure if they’re suppose to die or not (although logically you’d think that having a bomb go off next to them would be sufficient motivation to die). Also as far as I can see the placement of unexploded shots is very close to the trendril, now this might simply be because the devs want to motivate you do not just spray and pray but somehow it does feel that if it were the case that the unexploded shots killed the surrounding tendrils that the adventure would go a lot smoother and faster (or maybe I just suck at it, but I also notice there aren’t any speed shrooms around so I might be missing something else).
Yes I agree, good on you ANet. Not sure if 250 is the right number, but 400 really was too much of a grind in my opinion (and apparently in the opinions of several others it seems).
The willingness for ANet to iterate, to try something and change it when needed is a wonderful trait to have.
Yeah I’m with the No crowd, having 12 characters grinding HP is going to get really old, really quickly. I got all 400 on my main and it was fun, but by kittens I do not think I have it in me to do it again 11 times.

My fun factors wasn’t really changed, maybe it went from a 8→8.5
I’d just like to thank all the people out there that complained about the high req for hero points. Had full Herald on day 2. Spent 20 hours farming hero points in central Tyria on day 1 so I could be a day 1 Herald. Thank you for wasting my time.
But congratz to anyone that actually was doing what I was and not whining about the high req.
Yes I’m whining but, I don’t care.
w
Um so what because you decided to farm, because you decided you wanted to get your specialisation as fast as possible, suddenly ANet is at fault? Yeah seem legit.
If the grind made you that bitter, it’s probably a good thing they changed it.
This here
That is actually a pretty good argument.
So I’m standing at the bank in LA sorting through stuff and I receive the Mad King Says
award of 3 tot bags and credit for the achievement. No moving, no saying, no acting, not even in the area. Is this the challenging new content? Finding out how to be in the right place at the right time?
What really? Not a troll or sarcasm or anything, you’re being super serial?
No ANet has clearly stated that the challenging content is in HoT (Mad King is not part of HoT) and specifically the raids that are coming in HoT.
Nice find! I was hoping they might mention the expansion launch like they did when SWTOR launched. No such luck though
ANet probably didn’t feel like giving them an unreasonable amount of money for a 5 second plug.
You can access your guild hall from anywhere in Tyria, so I don’t think the guild hall would vanish or anything.

Chaps can be done is groups of 2 assuming a moderate level of competency.
Or you could go to WvW.
Also title and OP seem to be referring to different things.
I’m working on my first alt now… QQ
You could grind WvW…

Some of the biconics will create shield bubbles, you can just hide in them.
Nah snipers are fine, I’d love it if their attacks had a bit more of a telegraph but otherwise they’re fine.
If you want to earn Managua mastery you have to go to Managua to earn it, no other options.
Maguuma Mastery can only be used in Maguuma, so this does seem rather logical. However if Maguuma Mastery starts becoming useful outside of Maguuma then I’d agree adding more ways of getting it would make sense.
Being able to unlock elite specs outside of Maguuma makes sense becomes elite specs can be used everywhere in the game.
