this recipe was added to the rich dragon coffers with the patch of yesterday. currently you can not get it trough the Trade Post (or its bugged) and from what i understand about the patch notes, you can only get this trough the Rich Dragon Coffers.

anyone know if you can get them trough the regular coffers as well? anet said the regular coffers had everything the rich ones had, but less drop rate, so perhaps they added this recipe to them as well?

welp i have a google docs spreadsheet that i have been using for quitte while now.
if you want to import your data into a google docs spread sheet you have to go to your document and click tools→script editor and then paste the following code in there:

that piece of code, if used in a spreadsheet will return a the amount of copper an item is worth if you but it right away (ergo, someone posted item x for that amount already, and you buy it from him directly)

this piece of code returns an amount of copper. this amount is the highest amount of copper per item of people going “i want to buy item x, y times for z amount of money”

that should get you started just fine.

now lets say you want the price of carrots.
this is the spidy url for carrots: http://www.gw2spidy.com/item/12134
this is the code to get the highest sell value for one carrot: =GetItemSellValue(12134)
the =GetItemSellValue(-) refers to the code, and the number is the number ID of, in this case carrots. you can pick any item that is on gw2spidy and change the number, to the number in the URL of said item.

here is a little bit of my market sheet, to give you an idea on how to do it. i do not claim this is the best way to do it, but it works for me, and i have made all my money using this here market sheet.

i have been seeing some weird prices on the unidentified red dyes (rare) you can get trough cooking. they have been very profitable to make lately, and i might have an idea why.

do these guys drop the limited time flame dyes?
did anyone of you guys test this, or know of someone who did?

first of all, you can make a profit using all crafting professions. it might not be where you would think, but it makes sense if you think about it.

the consumables, those are, and always will be profitable, since people use them for a limited time only. swords and armor do not break, so once a person has there armor they will never buy your items again, but consumables are limited time, and therefor there is a lot more demand.

now, about the leveling part, there is this neat website i know

this website gives you the cheapest way to level any profession from 0-400 or per tier if you want. as far as i know it never costs more then 5gold to level a profession to 400.

New recipies require way too many ingredients

lets look at this is a way where merchanters did not mess up the trade post, lets say on the 28th of April.

at that time the rare veggie pizza costs 5s00c BUT it lasts only half as long as a Bowl of Garlic Kale Sautee, so to even that out, it will take 10s00c to get a full hour of the same stats.
now lets take a look at the prices for the ingredients on the 28th of April
head of garlic: 50c
since you need 20 of those, that is 50c x 20 = 10s00c …

well unless the other ingredients cost less then zero this recipe is never going to get used for nothing.

more math:
1g = 20 x rare veggie pizza = 10 hours of 40%condition duration and 70 condition damage
1g = 3 x bowl of garlic kale sautee = 3 hours of 40%condition duration and 70 condition damage

let me just make like an angry video game nerd and say: WHAT WHERE THEY THINKING

solutions: divide the amount of garlic and kale required by 10.

all was fine until i tried and switched zones, then the game told me that my client is unable to gain access to the log in server, and promptly disconnected me from the game.

when i try to log back in, it says its still unable to gain access to the log in server.
error code:42:6:3:2158

i have heard that the dragons have gotten precursors added to there chest loot tables, but what about all the other open world big zone events like the asura flame elemental or the big wurm in the slyvari area or… you know all those big zone events that give chests.

can anyone answer which events have a precursor chance? please, with a up to date link to where you got your information from.

why are some karma cooking items not in bulk?

all other ingredients for cooking that you buy with karma are inside these nice little bulk packages, reducing the amount of clicks per stack from 250 to 10. i wonder why this is not the case with basil leaf, bell pepper, or ginger root.

hellow,
my friend has different dailies from me. more specifically, she has the dailies that i had yesterday for every day since the update. her dailies do not update when she completes the tasks, but when she tries and does my tasks, sometimes her computer crashes, or she gets the popup, daily achievements +20%.
so basically the her achievement list shows the achievements of yesterday, but since those are past she can not update them. when she does the real daily achievements her game crashes, or she gets the pop up, but the list of daily achievements in the hero tab remains the same.

today, once i completed the jumping puzzle, i got the booster, and the 3 gifts as well as the snowflakes, but no karma gulp/jug/bucket/… in stead i got this loot bag that contained 2 x a fabric.

i’m in LA and i look at the map chat, and it is being overrun by LFG requests for fractals. it is so bad you can not ask questions without them being condemned to the void before anyone has any time to read them.

when you are looking for a group, you do not want to deal with people asking questions why you are looking for people to play with.

solution
make a LFG chat for each dungeon.
this is as close as a “social LFG tool” you can get. this also enables all people who are not interested in doing the dungeon located in the specific area you are in, to use the map chat to ask the playerbase questions, and in general be more social.
this should not be to difficult i think. there are a ton of different chats already, what is a few more?

what i am trying to say, Guitarzero, is not that i have issues with the puzzle, nor that it is to difficult, i am saying that the timing is a diminishing factor on the fun level of the jumping puzzle experience. the scenery was wonderful yet you have no time to enjoy it due to your focus being on jumping to the next platform.
i doubt, for example, that many people noticed the gifts that are on the top of the towers when the puzzle starts, explode once you get close to them.

i would have much rather have they used the snowflakes and the candies to make a more platform based difficulty, like using height as an extra barrier, or make it so that there is only one path leading to the next part, and a lot of paths that don’t.
the exploding packages were a decent enough idea, but i would rather see and wait which packages explode and in what order. this would then take planning and thinking to overcome.
the snowballs are an example of how it could have been. if not for your health you could have waited there and looked around to find your path.
and the ending was spectacular enough.

i am confident they could have made it so the puzzle would be equally difficult, and not time pressured at all.

festive jumping puzzles

i would like to suggest a more exploration oriented jumping puzzle for all upcoming events.
you could use the change in landscape (snow giving you a higher reach to jump to get up ledges previously inaccessible, for example) to start it off.
you could integrate it into the other dimensions you designed specifically for this event, or just add it to the cities where the events are taking place.

this will reduce “time trail” frustration. i think with all the talented people in anet it should be possible to create a jumping puzzle that is not timed but still has the same difficulty. moving platforms, mazes and whatnot could assist in this greatly.

i did finish the jumping puzzle, but my willingness to enjoy it was harassed by the wait when you failed, as well as the “i knew the platform was there but i missed it an inch” factor.

anyway, despite this minor thing i have enjoyed the wintersday events greatly.
keep up the good work!

has no one even considered adding fish recipes to cooking? i mean there are a lot of fish like salmon around in almost every body of water, but you get nothing when you kill them as of right now.
then again if killing them gives you the item, it will be pretty easy to farm since they die in one hit.
maybe make them friendly and then add a harvest tool like “net” or something to be able to harvest the friendly fish while underwater. or just go close to them and then a message pops up like “press f to get some tasty fish” , and then an interupteble cast bar appears.

anyway considering the world eats a ton of fish
and eating meat is bad for global warming
and # meat consumed is a big cause of obesity

i find it strange i have to point this out here. also anet has proven they want to have a healthy community, so “mens sana in corpore sano” and all that jazz.

kudos on the vegetarian recipes though!

cooking, vanilla drop rate++

i am going to post the list of items on the bottom of my post, but right now there are about 18 recipes that require the vanilla item (once or more).
15 of those items are lower level (high level being the last tier of items crafteble with cooking)
this means 83% of the items that use vanilla are for lower level.
and the price of vanilla peeked 3silver+ this day (this being the reason for this post).

3 silver is a lot of money for the lower leveled players. to much money i would say, since this would mean that they have to spend 45 silver (or about half a gold) to be able to make all the recipes using vanilla, before cooking is profitable.

i find this an argument to increase the drop rate for vanilla by one of these:
add vanilla to be a drop from the loot bags.
give more vanilla when you harvest it.
add vanilla to more tiered herb patches.

remember, you used to be able to buy vanilla from a frog person in Metrica Province, for karma (and not that much karma to be frank) so i do not think vanilla is meant to be the limiting factor to about 18 recipes.

anyway, i want to play with multiple builds! like my bleedbuild is very fun and good for sustained damage, while my rifle and swordmace is good for wvw, and i use a GS and swordmace for spvp.

I suggest you deal with WOWGL and PvPBank!

for the people asking for 100% of the time swiftness, i have a warrior with the signet elite that grants swiftness, and a warhorn that has the #4 skill for swiftness aoe effect. use both when you can and you have swiftness 95% of the time (without points in the “increase boon duration” trait, with points there you have 100%+ (aka you can keep on adding swiftness till max))
as to the mounts, no. i do not like ponies in this game, cause they are not needed.

uhum. you do make money in wvw which is kinda pvp, so give it a try, and help your server out while doing it.
if not, just do some pve for the 2 silver required to make a guild (should not take you more then 30mins max)

Please remove vistas from map completion

i too found some vistas tedious, but to remove them from map completion is not the way to go about it i think. the character bound vista idea is not so bad though. people could then farm the regions more efficiently though (since getting 100% completion is very rewarding) and this might mean a price drop in mats (then again, not the end of the world)…
to the alts and not wanting to do the vistas, you do not have to do vistas or area completion if you do not want to, no one is forcing you. but the rewards are pretty sweet though, especially with the higher level zones.

Vistas are the best thing ever to get into an mmo, art wise.

You all probably know, when you view a vista you get this camera that moves trough the landscape, and it usually ends in a spectacular view of the area you are in.
I believe (guessing) that the end of the vista view was what the concept artist made for the 3D artist to make into a part of the area. This would be a painting with all the elements of that particular part of the map.

My suggestion is, that when the vista ends (in stead of the screen just going white) the screen fades into the art piece the concept artist made. So you can see the area like it was when it was still a painting. This might seem a little bit to artsy for most players though.
Although i find this game very pretty, almost everything in game (except for the paintings hanging from the walls, loading screens and the cut-scenes background of course) are all texture artist and 3D modelers art, and not concept art. I also have no idea how hard this would be code wise, or how the 3D camera shot should transit into the painting.

anyway, i found the concept art i did see from GW2 good enough for me to see more (aka it must be high quality stuff OR i am easy to impress) so i would like for this to be implemented in the game.

i have no idea how hard this would be to achieve, or how easy, but im gona ask and they you guys can do with it what you will.

i found that while exploring divinities reach you get to see paintings, a lot of them. so many even that at one point i started noticing duplicates.
so the question is, can you implement more paintings so you get a more diverse art collection in your game.
i know there is a whole lot of concept art needed for every model in game, so i would suggest you would use the best of those.
then again i do not know how hard this might be to achieve for you guys to add all these textures to the game.

the reappearing of paintings is not that realistic and its killing (well maybe just wounding) MA IMMERZION
i really like the paintings that ARE in the game though :p

well i feel your pain. the biggest issue with this for me is that you have 4 regions, but only 2 unique maps. you have the center one, and one for ever server, but the server ones are all the same! this means you have to complete the same map 3 times. this gets annoying, especially when, like you said, are on the losing side.
as to “defektive.3540”, the not die achievement is pretty easy once you get high level in pve, and if i may give you a tip, crafting gives you exp that counts towards that achievement as well (also try not to jump of cliffs to much, death by falling was my number one cause of having to start over that achievement XD)
