Under the windowed mode you select Windowed Fullscreen option.
My native desktop resolution is 1920×1080 and I run the game at max resolution available to me, namely the same one and everything looks crisp clear. However I recently tried playing in windowed (both fullscreen and not) mode due to faster alt+tab window switching, but whenever I choose the windowed mode option the resolution drops to what appears to be 800×600. I heard somewhere that windowed mode should have taken the resolution from my desktop settings, but it isn’t behaving like that for me (changing desktop resolution changes nothing in GW2 for me), I tried googling similar issues, updating drivers and meddling a bit in my Catalyst Control Center but nothing seems to help raise the resolution while windowed at all. Any ideas how to fix this? It’s completely unplayable like this because everything is really blurry and pixelated and I can hardly read any of the letters displayed.
They are working on it, no need to create more topics.
I can see that you are at the jade maw in that screenshot, and you should know that you cannot reequip agony resistance in fractals, so you shouldn’t remove them once you start. It’s a system so people don’t play with other magic find equipment through the trash mobs and then equip strong agony res gear just for the boss. At least that’s what I’ve heard, so I never ever removed my agony gear.
Isn’t that located under the chat panel options? You know, not the game options, but the little cog options down in the chat.
Khisanth is most probably right. You cannot get a reward twice, so if you already completed the map before they added more waypoints and PoIs you won’t get another reward. Your map % goes down once they update and add new content in it.
Rush, the 5th skill on a warriors greatsword is pretty much unusable most of the time as it always misses, and many times it never makes contact with slightly bigger targets, at the moment it is usually used to travel faster out of combat until they make it more useful. As for hundred Blades, it’s well balanced because it’s pretty much the strongest attack in the game, you will need to learn to use it at just the right time, when you are sure that your target is standing still and won’t avoid it, immobilizing it beforehand helps a lot. Try using Throw Bolas or Bull Rush before starting hundred Blades, crippling it with skill #4 also helps. Another thing you can try is in the options, you can enable restrictions so you cannot walk through your targets.
That’s what tiers are there for, they are difficulties, smaller guilds do tier 1 while larger guilds do higher tiers. Small guilds can still progress with just tier 1, but at a slower pace, it’s still progress nonetheless.
Excellent suggestions +1!
I believe you need to be in the underground area for that to work, it’s a function so you can see the surface area from when you are located underground, as well as when under water.
Dungeons can be both easy and hard at times, the problem is with gear scaling. At the moment going into dungeons without a full exotic level 80 character is a rare phenomenon, at which point the dungeons are relatively easy, however going in as soon as it is available (AC and CM for example) with a character equipped with blue/green items will greatly impact your effectiveness and make it (for many) needlessly complicated and harder than it could be if they would have just returned later. Basically in GW2 all of the dungeons have turned out to be end-game content despite what their level requirement seems to be.
I wouldn’t say this is one of the bigger and more important issues in the game, but yes it could be more easier to buy a certain amount of gems, playing the guessing game can get annoying, however there is probably a good reason why this system is like it is.
There’s already a ton of these exact same topics so please use the search function and reply there.
Why do mods only reply to silly posts?
Because this has been replied to number and number of times already, they are working on adding such a feature so no need to make another topic about it.
Hey Jeff, you guys should really think about adding some kind of a more visible notification that the mail inbox is full, unless you feel like answering these types of questions for all eternity :P
Are you talking about wvw? Cause in wvw player’s don’t drop loot where they fall, instead the loot is automatically teleported to where you are when they die, otherwise it wouldn’t be practical to go loot enemies when you are defending a castle from the walls. You just need to hit the loot key as soon as you see exp pop up on your screen.
It’s not really that bad, I think the price is okay, currently it’s only about 25 gold per slot, which isn’t all that hard to get, one average exotic drop or a few hours in CoF, or selling about 120 ectoplasms which are also easy to get with all of the rares being handed out at every turn. The recent Super Adventure Box was also a very good way to make money, I managed to squeeze about 100 gold out of it. If you’re out of character slots that means you already have 5 characters that you play, surely you can find a way to use them to get some gold.
Agreed +1 this needs to be added
I too have seen this happen in my asura, it’s a really funny bug though.
We could definitely use this.
so you are saying change daily achievment into a half hour achievment right?
It will probably come as a shocking surprise to you, but there are people who actually have a full schedule and cannot afford to waste 3-4 hours just to get the daily chest rewards in an online game. They log in the game to relax, not to get nervous about how they don’t have enough time left to complete the necessary daily requirements.
But it’s not a necessary requirement, it’s an optional daily objective, you can’t honestly expect that people with full schedules that can only play 2 hours a day should be able to farm all achievement points easily in 30 minutes and get a place at the top of the achievement leaderboards? No, as you said those kind of people play to relax, they don’t care about being at the top of the leaderboards, they do the other daily objectives.
Look at the image. Traits limit the Elementalist in useful skills.
Doesn’t matter, switching from staff to dagger mid combat will still make him OP regardless of a couple of traits as his close range attacks become faster. As it is elementalists already have the most skills available at any one point, doubling that would seriously impact balance and complexity. There’s a good reason why eles can’t have two weapons at once, cause they already have four attunements.
There is no imbalance when Elementalist have to pay to reset their traits.
Only one to two of the four attunements are even useful.
Another reason for a swap is a place to store a exotic.
A good elementalist uses ALL skills, not just the few he traited. Each skills can be good in different situations, and even though he isn’t traited in water doesn’t mean he should never use water to heal allies for example, adding another weapon set doubles his already too big potential.
OH…MY…GOD
Haven’t played during beta so I never saw this old login screen and was wondering what all the fuss was about since everyone kept crying about it, but THAT is just the most awesome thing I ever saw. Please this HAS to come back

Not gonna happen, trading post could be used as an infinite bank. If you don’t want to take all, then don’t order/buy all at the same time.
No faces for party interface has been in the options since launch.
The nodes always spawned differently since launch at certain times without the need of new builds. It’s normal.
MF is neither an offensive nor defensive stat, that’s why utility infusions exists, much like karma and gold bonus infusions, MF can only be infused into utility slots, which only amulets currently have.
None of the world bosses are any good at the moment and need complete reworks.
The only problem with this would be the saturation of events.
Lots of people would enter these events, and then the testing team would have a much increased workload.
Doesn’t matter how many entries get submitted, if they only take one per day, or like 10 per month, they can still manage their workload and time. Some kind of schedule would definitely be in order, for example maps and areas with less events should have priority over those with many, like Orr for example doesn’t really need any more events at the moment. The point is they would pick themselves which ones should actually get in the game and which should be scrapped, and that’s basically all they would need to do at that point, unless they want to use some of those for their grand story purposes they could tweak the dialogue a bit for example.
Unfortunately the only option we got is Lock Autotargeting, maybe you could try and adapt to using that.
So earlier just below this post someone suggested that GW2 should take Neverwinters Forge concept (user created dungeons and quests), to which I disagreed (no offense your idea was okay) because I believe further segregating players into instances wouldn’t fit in well with GW2s living world concept.
What I believe is the core of GW2 are the Dynamic Events, I remember in a press conference Anet once stated that DEs will obviously loop and repeat because, well, they have a limited number of designers and programmers and they can’t make a million of events, to which I was ok because that’s reality. I was however disappointed to see that each zone in the game only has about 10-20 events which appear to loop just about every 5-10 minutes, making the world feel not so much alive anymore, especially at higher levels where we already had many opportunities to see and complete these events over and over again. Returning to lower lever maps often results in same experiences being repeated day in and day out again and again.
The Living Story updates are fine, but unfortunately they only added about 2-3 events in only 2 of the zones, I believe that making GW2 stronger lies in populating the world with much much more Dynamic Events which will in turn repeat less often to provide a better feeling of a lively ever-changing world where no one can foresee what will happen next, this will make the game much more exciting. Unfortunately I understand it’s not easy and that it takes quite a lot of time to create 100+ events for each map, so this is where my suggestion comes in:
Instead of making an event one by one yourself, you need to let us help you, create a way, an application so that players can design and create Dynamic Events for you, once ready before publishing these will be uploaded to your personal private database where your team can take a look and approve events (to assure good quality), and even tweak them in ways you see fit, then they would just be transferred to your private testing servers where your testing team can see if they don’t cause any problems or bugs with that particular area.
I know it sounds like a big deal which will take a while to design and execute, but I believe this will do good to GW2s future, especially in the long run, taking a couple of months to design this will be worth it, as then new events could be added faster and faster, especially so if you let the community take some of the workload of your shoulders. Think about it.

Yeah sounds great, I like the idea of betting as well.
I wouldn’t really say that’s an exploit (my personal opinion), his aoe attack which is a shockwave has an epicenter, and much like how earthquakes and tornados have safe and quiet epicenters so is this so I’d say it’s really cool and fair. Also the berserker is quite strong in melee and his normal attacks can kill you easily so I don’t see how everyone going in really close can make the fight all that much effortless, I think it’s a valid tactic to negate his aoe but deal with his regular attacks, while ranged fighters can avoid his melee attacks but need to deal with his aoe shockwave, seems perfectly balanced to me.

I think this is a bad idea that doesn’t go well with the living world concept at all
You do realize that the gap would still be there and it will be even bigger. What they need to do is increase event rewards because most events aren’t attractive at higher levels anymore, rarely anyone needs what they offer at level 80 (1000 exp, 100 karma and 1 silver isn’t worth anyones time). They need to increase silver gained from events all over the world but not on Orr as that would just make everyone farm Orr again.
Great idea, would fit really well! Also I’d like some more new diving locations as well!
This idea is awesome.
I think the dungeon would require to be shortened and there should be only one boss of the boss (either the dredge or the fire legion one as alternitive).
As the fractals of the mist resemble memories of things that happened in the past (e.g. the war between charr and human) this would fit in perfectly.
The “fiery allience fractal”. It even sounds awesome :P
The achievement would be not to be hit by the traps or by the bosses (charr) waves.
Or maybe leave it exactly like it is, with both bosses, but make it the 4th bonus fractal so we have some alternative to Jade Maw’s Solid Ocean fractal. Okay maybe there could be a slight reduction in trash mobs since this dungeon can take a while.
This mechanic is there to reduce your abilities of running away from combat, when you encounter someone and engage in a fight, you should kill them, if you really don’t feel like it then you are free to run away, but at a price, reduced moving speed. I really don’t see anything wrong with it, you should always pay attention who you agrro and it’s not hard to tell when your out of combat to avoid fumbling jumps. To me it makes sense to fumble jumps a lot if you’re being hit by something.
I really liked the system they had in GW1 where your build would generate a code you could save, load and paste for quick respecs, they need to add this and it would go really well with their build calculator as you can just copy and paste from it to the game.
Why make new servers when they could just add free trial accounts like other games, having free dedicated outdated servers would be really expensive and would just further segregate the player population, it would be much better, easier and faster to just have trial accounts with some limitations.
It’s not a bug, the elementals spawn in big numbers and are really hellish to deal with without a guardian and good coordination. All as intended.
Go to a suggestion subforum and ask for a nerf if you want.
Not sure if you understood what he implied, he said that there are fewer elementals on level 22 than there are on level 20. Makes no sense that a higher level should have less adds.
Replies are correct, silly suggestion and is not consistent with how other runes are worded, a simple +10 on all runes is better
Like Necrid said, you most probably missed something, go back in and recheck every map. They added a few new waypoints and points of interest in the last few patches.
I also noticed this on my charr, and I think it only keeps happening on that race, I’m surprised they still haven’t fixed this since it was like that from launch.
Great idea. Would take an extreme amount of effort to add to the existing lighting mechanics of the game. If this is approved and in the pipeline for the future, I wouldn’t expect it until next year at the earliest.
If you read above posts apparently this feature was already in the game in the early stages and then they decided to remove it, so my best guess is it wouldn’t be that hard to bring it back.
Yeah this would be nice, and I wonder why this already isn’t in the game because trait affected cooldowns already update accordingly, I guess there is a problem with adding additional special effects to the list.
Player housing is already being worked on, guild halls as well, we already have relationships with renowned hearts npcs, and cross class combos are also present in the game…
And reason or example why, when or where this might be useful to you?
